Besties: The Democrats and Corporate Giants in bed together and taking out each others trash

By Jo Nova

Daniel Greenfield put’s his finger on the diabolical feedback loop the West is in.

Big Gov protects the Big Tech monster from market competition  — and in return Big Tech protects Big Government from political competition.  Democrats have outsourced political repression of their enemies to cabals of private companies.

Nice Racket if you can get it.

The Democrats wet dream is to tar and feather opponents and then ban them from even speaking, and the conglomerate multinational octopuses are happy to oblige by tweaking search results, and suspending the right accounts. In return, they get sweet government deals and Section 230 protection.  Who knew Amazon has nearly 500 federal subcontracts? When Amazon employees donate to the Democrats they’re just protecting their jobs.

When Google invests another $2 billion in Renewables, the last thing they want is climate denier Commander in Chief.

Public-Private partnerships are the unholiest anticompetitive destroyer of free speech. Big Gov works to make sure Big Tech can protect its monopoly control, while Big Tech works to make sure sure Big Gov is protected from criticism by blocking and banning free speech.

Sweet.

DEMOCRATS OUTSOURCE POLITICAL REPRESSION TO CORPORATE MONOPOLIES

Daniel Greenfield,

Democrats love public-private partnerships and they outsourced political repression to the private sector.

That same old document written by old white dead men, not to mention centuries of jurisprudence and tradition, prevents the government from kicking down your door in the middle of the night for wrongthink. But nothing keeps corporations from firing you for wrongthink, for being related to someone who committed wrongthink, or for insufficient political correctness.

The public-private partnership between big government and big monopolies is based on Democrats and corporations doing the dirty work of repressing each other’s opponents.

Corporations can’t write regulations that suppress competition from upstart rivals, and so the government steps in and keeps the marketplace under the control of a few cartels. And the government can’t censor, deplatform, fire, bankrupt, and bar its political opponents from speaking, flying, and doing business. But the monopolies it’s been partnering with can and do.

Greenfield is savage:

The public-private totalitarian partnership between a one-party state and oligarchs who carry on its propaganda, enrich its officials, and suppress its enemies is a familiar one in China, Russia, Turkey and other hellholes that the Democrats seem bent on using as models for their utopia.

Democrats knock off Amazon’s rivals and Amazon knocks off Republicans. The Washington Post, owned by Amazon CEO Bezos, goes after President Trump. Amazon’s AWS takes out Parler and makes it more likely to get back its $10 billion military cloud contract from Biden.

Capitol Hill Police Officer Sicknick, who died, was fine on the night of the Capitol Hill riot

Capitol Police Officer, Brian Sicknick

Capitol Police Officer, Brian Sicknick

Officer Brian Sicknick, 42. tragically died after the Capitol Hill mayhem. Allegedly he was “bludgeoned with a fire extinguisher”, and later got a blood clot and died the next day. His death is being used to score political points against Trump supporters yet there are some pertinent facts being left out, and questions that need answers.

Things the legacy media may have forgot to report:

    1. Sicknik texted his family at night after the Capitol Hill event and said he was in good shape. The family did not expect him to go to hospital.
    2. The family didn’t want his death used for political purposes and say his death may be related to a medical condition.
    3. Brian Sicknik was a strong Trump supporter.
    4. The family only learnt of his death when reporters started phoning them.

It’s all a bit odd?

“This Political Climate Got My Brother Killed”: Officer Brian Sicknick Died Defending the Capitol. His Family Waits for Answers.

J. David McSwane, Propublica

“He texted me last night and said, ‘I got pepper-sprayed twice,’ and he was in good shape,” said Ken Sicknick, his brother, as the family drove toward Washington. “Apparently he collapsed in the Capitol and they resuscitated him using CPR.”

But the day after that text exchange, the family got word that Brian Sicknick had a blood clot and had had a stroke; a ventilator was keeping him alive.

“We weren’t expecting it,” his brother said.

Propublica contacted the family:

The family learned from reporter phone calls that something was wrong.

“We have not gotten any calls,” Ken Sicknick said when first contacted. Brian Sicknick was the youngest of three siblings, all boys. “We’re kind of overwhelmed right now. You guys are getting reports of his death before I even got anything.”

Nearly an hour later, the department issued a statement rebutting news reports that an officer had died. The department finally reported that Sicknick had died at 9:30 p.m.

A colleague of Sicknick’s remains baffled as to how the Capitol was breached:

Larry Schaefer, who spent 34 years on the force before retiring last year and knew Sicknick, said Wednesday’s breach of the Capitol was unfathomable until he saw it on his TV screen.

“We handle demonstrations on a regular basis,” Schaefer said. “We’re prepared for this kind of stuff. We hold people back in a perimeter. We’re set up for mass arrests, to load buses of people away.”

He said he blames department leaders for the tragedy.

Brian Sicknik had served in the National Air Guard in Saudi Arabia and Kyrgyzstan. He had grown very disilliusioned at the “unnecessary wars“. He scorned George Bush, and the 9/11 Commission report, and the way the US government treated their troops:

In 2001, he described his attempt to gain help from his representatives in a dispute with his employer: “I have written a staggering number of letters to elected officials in both the state and federal governments. Only one state senator responded. This is one of the main reasons I will not be enlisting for a second term in the National Guard. I am no longer going to risk my life in hostile environments for a government that does not care about the troops.”

Matthew Schmitz says in the New York Post “When they smear Trump voters, they dishonor Officer Sicknick’s memory.”

Sicknick was a Trump supporter himself, as his friend Caroline Behringer announced shortly after his death. Far from sharing the views of the #Resistance, he had written letters to his congressman opposing Trump’s impeachment.

As Diana West points out, if Brian Sicknick had been alive for Joe Biden’s inauguration, they would have vetted him.

In a related story, a video has been unearthed showing a MAGA supporter pleading with the Capitol Hill Police on January 6th, asking why they haven’t called for back up.

Capitol Protester Yells at Cops for Backup at DC Riot:

As Diana West points out, and Gateway Pundit identified, three other people died that day and we know almost nothing about why they did. One, Roseanne Boyland (34) may have been trampled to death. The other two allegedly died from natural causes.

Mr.Phillips (50) reportedly died from a stroke and Mr. Greeson (55) reportedly died from a heart attack.

All the deaths are regrettable. The death of the real media is the thing that matters most.

Paralyzed mice walk again after just a few weeks

We all could use some good news, and this is quite extraordinary.

“Using gene therapy, a research team has succeeded in getting mice to walk again after a complete cross-sectional injury. The nerve cells produced the curative protein themselves.”

Town mice and country mice.

The Town Mouse and The Country Mouse both like this news.       |          Illustrated by Milo Winter

Normally spinal cord damage is pretty much permanent. Even though we all still have the same genes that built the nerves in the first place, no one seemed to have the right reboot code that could switch on the correct genes in the right order to do the repair. And to give you some idea of the complexity of this, in 2018 a different team estimated that as many as 580 genes may be involved in axon regeneration.

Plenty of researchers have been tapping on the windows and doors of the Nerve Regrowth Holy Grail. This time, instead of just regenerating a nerve in a petri dish, or even even a live animal, they’ve gone a leap further. These mice could walk again.

And all it took was a single injection? “This was a great surprise to the researchers”.

Nerve cell, graphic.

Wikimedia

The magic molecule this time was Interleukin 6 (IL-6). It’s a kind of command molecule in the immune system. It foils easy descriptions — it’s anti-inflammatory and produced after exercise, but it’s also higher after stress, eating too much, not sleeping enough, and in obese people.  If you are sick or damaged, IL6 seems to rise.

This team made an artificial version of IL-6 and attached it to a virus. This is a form of Gene therapy. What we don’t know is whether it works in humans, how long the repair lasts, or what the side effects would be. Does it work on old injuries or only new ones?

We also don’t know why governments are pouring billions of dollars into wind and solar farms in an attempt to control the weather. Twenty years from now, the nations that research medicine and figure it out will be wildly rich. Those that have high electricity costs and nothing to sell, but their moral superiority, will be hoping the former nations will be nice to them.

Designer cytokine makes paralyzed mice walk again

or potential therapeutic approaches, the Bochum team has been working with the protein hyper-interleukin-6. “This is a so-called designer cytokine, which means it doesn’t occur like this in nature and has to be produced using genetic engineering,” explains Dietmar Fischer. His research group already demonstrated in a previous study that hIL-6 can efficiently stimulate the regeneration of nerve cells in the visual system.

This all sounds good but we are (probably) pretty happy if we don’t need to try this just yet:

In their current study, the Bochum team induced nerve cells of the motor-sensory cortex to produce hyper-Interleukin-6 themselves. For this purpose, they used viruses suitable for gene therapy, which they injected into an easily accessible brain area. There, the viruses deliver the blueprint for the production of the protein to specific nerve cells, so-called motoneurons. Since these cells are also linked via axonal side branches to other nerve cells in other brain areas that are important for movement processes such as walking, the hyper-interleukin-6 was also transported directly to these otherwise difficult-to-access essential nerve cells and released there in a controlled manner.

Applied in one area, effective in several areas

“Thus, gene therapy treatment of only a few nerve cells sti

Earth to Joe Biden: Canceling Keystone XL Pipeline Is a Gift to China and Russia

Will cancelling the Keystone Pipeline improve the weather in 100 years, or are the main beneficiaries trucks, trains, China, Russia and Venezuela?

Who, exactly,  is Joe Biden working for?

Keystone pipeline route

Keystone pipeline route

Daniel Turner writes about how Cancelling Keystone is a gift to China and Russia

Joe Biden’s plans to cancel the Keystone XL Pipeline is a gift to someone. The radical green groups for sure: they have opposed the oil link since its inception. The trucking and railroad industry will benefit, too, because once the pipeline is stopped, then the oil will be transported in and around America by something with wheels. It’s also a gift to our adversaries: for who will benefit when America and Canada can’t bring their fossil fuels to market? The competition. Russia and Venezuela will be thrilled to know their market share will increase thanks to the Biden Administration’s fumble.

Joe Biden wants to get zero emissions with more trucks and fewer pipes:

Know what has emissions? Trucks and trains. Know what doesn’t? Pipelines.

Which is riskier, pipelines or trucking? Four deaths versus 4,862.

Are pipelines scary? If you think so, I have the plot of a horror film: the call is coming from inside the house. Your house is full of pipelines. America is crisscrossed with over 2.6 million miles of pipeline. That’s enough to get to the moon and back….more than five times. Is there a risk? Of course, and the Pipeline and Hazardous Material Safety Administration, part of the U.S. Department of Transportation, records all pipeline incidents. Last year there were fewer than a dozen considered “serious” and one tragically resulted in the death of four workers in Texas.

Fox News loses 40% of its viewers (forty!)- The Exodus shows this was not a normal election

Use the tale of the Fox Exodus to tell the world, this was not “just another election”

The crash in Fox news ratings reveals the turmoil going on among the non-Left. Even people who aren’t political junkies can understand there is something seismic about a shift this big. It’s a good opener for those conversations with people who don’t realize how the political landscape just changed. It’s a simple point that shows something fishy and deep is going on.

Old habits die hard. For twenty years, and many elections, Fox was the dominant single news site for most of conservative America. Ratings drops of a few percent shake advertisers. This was a seismic fall.  Nearly half of a loyal audience switched off and went searching for something. Fox news didn’t just bore people, it actively drove them away. Right now, the Right side of the most successful democracy on Earth is hunting for a voice. That’s a lot of people looking and it started on November 4.

The number one cable channel for the last twenty years, is suddenly number three.

Fox News used to outrate both CNN and MSNBC put together. But in the last two weeks Fox has fallen so far, both of these legacy news groups separately beat Fox. It’s not that millions have headed over to the legacy media, but that millions have abandoned Fox for the small news networks few people had heard of two months ago.

The President’s Lawyer couldn’t even get a space:

Joe Kovacs, WND News:  [Rudy] Giuliani said the national news networks would no longer book him for on-air appearances because he mentions illegal activity which purportedly swayed the election to Joe Biden.

“I can’t get on — I can’t get on ABC, NBC, CBS, can’t even get on Fox anymore. If I say the word ‘fraud,’ I’m thrown off the network,” he told former Press Secretary Sean Spicer on Newsmax TV.

“I’m sorry, there was fraud. I’m telling the truth and they’re lying. And not only are they lying, they’re practicing a level of censorship that is so un-American that it’s frightening….

“If they didn’t cheat,” Giuliani wondered aloud, “why won’t they let us examine the [voting] machines?” …

“You know, this has been since somewhere in October of this year, it’s been the strangest experience of my life,” he explained. “It’s like I’ve been living in the Iron Curtain. I’m living in a country with the kind of censorship that I remember as a young child in East Germany, the Soviet Union.”

Maybe this has something to do with the exodus?

Don’t believe your lying eyes. On other sites, the audience could see graphs of bizarre vertical steps in vote counting, and the videos of Counting-observers who were locked out and postal workers who were ordered to backdate the sacred date stamp. They saw suitcases of votes wheeled out from under tables in the dead of night on the CCTV. And they wanted to talk about that.

The Fox News political editor who sat on the Election Night Decision Desk has been sacked along with 20 Fox News as Network Ratings Crater.

Christina Laila, Gateway Pundit

Here’s what happened guys, let’s be honest with you, I can talk about this, Donald Trump on November 3rd — Fox declared Biden the winner in Arizona. MAGA-world went ballistic, they said ‘I’m not watching Fox News,’ they switched over and they looked and they found Newsmax,” former Fox News host Eric Bolling said.

“Fox lost about 40% of their audience. 40 percent. That’s a big number,” Bolling continued, a statement that sparked roaring applause from the audience of young conservatives.

“I have friends still there that say they are very, very nervous about it, they’re sucking wind on it and they don’t know how to turn it around,” Bolling said

Web searches show where the missing Fox viewers went.

In July 2020, few people were doing web searches for Newsmax, Gateway Pundit or One America News (OANN). Fox News dominated the conservative media space. Newsmax, Gateway Pundit and One America News were dwarfed. These are “website” visits, not viewer ratings:

Fox News Ratings Dec 2020 compared to Newsmax and OANN and CNN

By December things were very different.

Fox News Ratings Dec 2020 compared to Newsmax and OANN and CNN

Fox News Ratings Dec 2020 compared to Newsmax and OANN and CNN

From The Daily Wire:

According to ratings data, CNN “topped cable networks” with roughly 2.8 million viewers per day between January 4th and January 10th, with 4.2 million viewers in primetime. During that same time period, MSNBC had approximately 2.3 million viewers per day and 3.8 million in prime time. Fox News, however, had just 1.7 million per day and 3.2 million in primetime. Yahoo Finance reported that “Newsmax, a smaller rival that has been promoted by President Trump, said it saw record ratings in primetime of 443,000 for the week. Its total day ratings averaged 294,000.”

Describing the “ratings battles” facing Fox News, Vanity Fair wrote “the cable juggernaut’s programming shake-up, with a rotating cast of opinion hosts replacing Martha MacCallum at 7 p.m., comes as viewers are flocking to CNN and MSNBC following the Capitol insurrection and as Newsmax and OAN chip away from the right.”

Since the beginning of the century, Fox News has “consistently been the most-watched, and arguably the most influential, cable news outlet — by a mile,” according to Mediaite, with viewers becoming accustomed “to lengthy stretches in which the total combined viewership of CNN and MSNBC was less than the number of people tuning into Fox News.”

Nothing shows off the fakeness of their victory more than the paranoia on the Democrat side of politics

A win built by cheating is not a happy win, but a precarious situation that can only survive by fear and oppression. The Democrats are scrambling to find a foothold based on the only strengths they have: hate and intolerance. They can’t heal the nation through listening to a side which has legitimate grievances. As long as honest mainstream America has a voice they will claw back the legitimacy of the fake winners. Instead fake winners have to silence them, and gaslight their own supporters to immunize them against messages from the peaceful but shafted majority.

The ACME: Invent-an-Enemy program is running apace: Trump supporters are now “like ISIS, al Qaeda”

Tucker Carlson wonders where the winners celebrations are? Instead of being thrilled the victors still want to hurt and humiliate half the nation.

Instead the Democrats are trying to light a fire under a peaceful nation, feeding the paranoia, division and fear. Some are seeding the idea that every Trump supporter is a terrorist.

Are there any reasonable Democrats left? Let’s find them

As Carlson says —  there is a power vacuum at the center of the Democratic Party which a weak Biden has no chance of filling, and the totalitarian left are working to take over. We need the sane, sensible centre of the Democrats, whatever is still there, to stop this now. Sandy Cortez is already talking about “deprogramming” millions of people. “DC Mayor, Muriel Bowser said she would like the national guard to place crew served machine guns belt-fed 50 cals around the city.”  “We can all see where this is going. “

Carlson is leading the charge for a response: “Nobody pushes back”.

If not now, when?

Good News — insidious TrumpsNewArmy video is disappearing — Oops — it helps the wrong team

As an update to yesterdays post, note that there might be a bottom to the well of Youtube hate. (At least for today).

UPDATE!: The original “TrumpsNewArmy” Youtube link has “gone private” (whatever that means). Youtube still fail to post any warning labels, they don’t call it racist, or block it for inciting violence. But Youtube don’t have any repeats of it in search results for Winslow today, or TrumpsNewArmy.  A microscopic bit of good news. There is a limit to the Hypocrisy.

Most likely TrumpsNewArmy was a step so far over the line of decency that they had to hide it. The overreach was hurting the Lefty cause more than helping it by revealing just how toxic and anti-American their desires are.

Speaking of which, can any reader now find the old psychotic 10:10 climate video on any platform?

Fighting for free speech. I could use your support, thanks.

* This post will Stick to the Top. New posts will file in underneath *

Of all the grand failures of the last 12 weeks, the most unexpected has been The Media, which is saying something, because my expectations were so low. Or so I thought. But who knew that so many otherwise great publications would fail to pick up the biggest story in our lifetimes?

Truth is, it starts with the media. It’s our national conversation. If we had better media, we’d get better politicians. It all follows. When the nightly news says “even Mitch McConnell denounces blah” — they don’t say “but his in-laws are shipping magnates trading with Beijing and sit on the board of the Bank of China.” Maybe that matters?

So here, trying to help craft the new media world, I’d like to thank all those that make this adventure possible, and ask anyone who can spare enough to buy me a box of chocolate if they could chip in. Please. I do appreciate your help.

Ripples from this US election are already lapping on Australian shores. Both climate and Big-Tech policies are already under pressure.

ACME: Hate. Imagine someone tried to use Bigoted Race Hate to incite a civil war?

With Trump soon to be out of Office, the Party of Peace needs a new enemy

Looks like Don Winslow has opened the ACME: Instant-Target-of-Hate box. It’s almost like he is baiting the right to do something violent for the inauguration.

Start your list now of all the people you would like to see denounce this racist video, then send them an email asking if they support this kind of bigoted incitement?

@Robby Starbuck

This is so dangerous it’s hard to sum up in a tweet. It puts a target on the head of every conservative, calls for war and propagandizes to form a vigilante group that would narc on neighbors. If Hitler or Stalin we’re alive today, they’d proudly use this video. Sick and evil.

Twitter and Youtube banned the race hate already…  Wait!… noooooo. Some kinds of hate are high fashion on the Left.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to build, support, and share any social media platforms that aren’t Twitter, Facebook, Youtube, and Google. Dis-invest yourself, and ask your superfund/401K to boycott them too.

Tucker Carlson: Why are there 25,000 (dis) armed troops in Washington DC?

Bitchute link.

Bigotry unleashed

Carlson on the 25,000 troops: “This is purely a show of force.”

(Jo hopes it’s just a wildly expensive photo-op.)

“Your color and gender mark you as a potential enemy of the state.”

“Background checks because of your race and gender?”

Apparently, Democrats support a new secret police agency (because having the FBI and CIA actively-ignore-the-Hunter-Biden-laptop for a year is not enough?)

Tucker Carlson wonders about the Body Armor ban: “What could possibly be the motive for banning body armour? For banning something that cannot be used in any way to hurt someone else?”

Congressman Steve Cohen just told us on CNN that every white man in this country is a potential murderer. Every white man in America should be under suspicion purely on the basis of being white and male of planning a presidential assassination. The National Guard troops, who are overwhelmingly white and male, must therefore undergo government background checks to prove they are not planning murder.

The core belief on the Left seems to be that they are superior to “Deplorables” because they believe the leftist doctrine. Since this is so shallow — ultimately they need an enemy to feel better about themselves — and to unify against. It might be the only thing that stops in-fighting breaking out amongst an ad hoc collective of identity groups who otherwise have nothing in common. With the left now in control of the Federal Government, the bureaucracy, the universities, the corporations, big tech and the media, they are having to look further afield for their objects of derision and hate. To judge by the video above, nearly any white man will do.

The incentive to run another false flag event must be tempting. Violence would be the perfect excuse to tar the Right, demand more gun control, more inquisitions, and more heads. We know whoever planted the pipe bombs was thwarted on January 6. Will they try again?

Here’s hoping inauguration day is civil and peaceful. Trump supporters would be wise to stay away unless they are there with cameras running to report the action that the media will not.

Bad Bad Karma: Democrats don’t trust guards, take their ammo, and seek out Trump sympathizers

Not acting like a team that won Eighty Million votes

Democrats have fed division so well they now don’t trust the National Guard.

National Guard

WASHINGTON (AP) — U.S. defense officials say they are worried about an insider attack or other threat from service members involved in securing President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration, prompting the FBI to vet all of the 25,000 National Guard troops coming into Washington for the event.

The massive undertaking reflects the extraordinary security concerns that have gripped Washington following the deadly Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol by pro-Trump rioters. And it underscores fears that some of the very people assigned to protect the city over the next several days could present a threat to the incoming president and other VIPs in attendance.

According to @amuse, the Biden transition team have confiscated their ammo, and wanted to ask who the Guard voted for. The insulting request was refused initially, though eventually, sadly, the Army acquiesced.

”We’re continually going through the process, and taking second, third looks at every one of the individuals assigned to this operation,” McCarthy said in an interview after he and other military leaders went through an exhaustive, three-hour security drill in preparation for Wednesday’s inauguration. He said Guard members are also getting training on how to identify potential insider threats.

The FBI got involved. @amuse says “Any soldiers who believe there was election fraud are being referred for disciplinary action and removed from the Capitol.” Sounds dreadful.

It’s all Trumps fault of course. If only he hadn’t been so popular, all that cheating wouldn’t have been necessary:

In contrast, the threats against Biden’s inauguration have been fueled by supporters of President Donald Trump, far-right militants, white supremacists and other radical groups. Many believe Trump’s baseless accusations that the election was stolen from him, a claim that has been refuted by many courts, the Justice Department and Republican officials in key battleground states.

The Democrats get to play the Victim card on the national spotlight, they add more loaded questions. And perhaps this horrible “vetting”  process has a side  “benefit”? It might work like the CCP brainwashing techniques. Getting guards to publicly state who they voted for (or lie about it) might work. If people do it often enough they might start to believe they really did vote for Biden and that the claims of voter fraud were “baseless”.

But even if that doesn’t work, many members of the National Guard will be that much warier next week to say who they voted for.

Welcome to the world of Democrat Healing.

The Big Tech Wreck: Twitter appoints themselves the Global Conversation Police

In a brilliant move Twitter told one of its top five most popular products to go sit in the Naughty Corner forever. Since then, Twitter stock has fallen by around $7 billion or about one sixth. It couldn’t’ happen to a nicer company.

There were around 330 million Twitter users in toto in 2020 and nearly 90 million of them followed President Trump. But it’s worth remembering that only about 20% of people use Twitter, most of them apparently being rich millenials, which might explain why the whole company seems to operate like a fashion contest.

By banning Donald Trump, Twitter have shone a 2 megawatt searchlight on their own competitors, and asked nearly half their customers to “go try them.” Good move Twitter.

Twitter on the slide:

TWTR Twitter STock Price January 2021

Are Big Tech and Big Government Overplaying Their Hand?

Dan Gerlernter, American Greatness

It is extraordinary that three-quarters of Republicans, according to a Quinnipiac poll, believe there was widespread voter fraud in the election, when YouTube is removing videos on the subject as fast as they are put up, and Twitter has now blocked the account of the president himself.

But the tech oligarchs who have become the de facto national leaders are not students of history nor are they men of any deep conviction—they are simply children with money. They were raised, in America’s schools, without any commitment to or understanding of the value of free speech. And they are equally ignorant of the history of tyranny. So just as they make bad democrats (with a small ‘d’), they make equally ham-handed dictators.

The criminalization of thought and speech goes back to the French Revolution and much earlier. It is freedom of speech, and not its suppression, that is the recent and real innovation, and which today remains unique to America. If Mark Zuckerberg and Jack Dorsey had studied any of this, they would know that you cannot make people agree with you just by preventing them from saying what they think. All you can buy with censorship and suppression and even the threat of violence is nothing more than the appearance of conformity and the semblance of agreement. Suppression doesn’t make thoughts go away—it drives them underground. There, as Winston Churchill pointed out, they become twice as potent for being forbidden: “A little mouse, a little tiny mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

Those casual enemies of free speech who today dominate the tech landscape have a much weaker hand than they think. Twitter has fewer daily active users in the United States than Trump had Twitter followers. Amazon Web Services and its politically aligned competitors Google, Microsoft, and IBM may appear to be the only game in town for web hosting, but that, too, will change.

New Dreams of Independence

By expunging millions of users from their ecosystem, the tech giants have created a huge and ready customer base waiting to be served. And, in a mostly free market, it will not be long before new companies arise not only to serve those orphaned customers, but to challenge and depose today’s potentates.

Perhaps never in the history of any industry has a dominant faction so openly invited its own destruction.

Twitter are the Global Conversation Police

Whistleblowers from Twitter send in these videos to Project Veritas.

I used to think Twitter had a cunning plan til I heard these two (Gadde and Dorsey) talk. Now I suspect it’s got more to do with personal fashion statements and impressing their friends.

Vijaya Gadde is a Silicon Valley lawyer who studied industrial and labor relations. Somehow it makes sense to her that she should be appointed as the Global Conversation Constable, managing the President like he was a toddler.

Wikimedia tells us that Gadde doesn’t like being censored herself. “At Twitter, Gadde has made protecting privacy and opposing the censorship of Twitter internationally policy priorities, notably by filing suit to oppose the 2014 Turkish ban of Twitter.[8] Righto.

A few days ago Project Veritas got a whistleblower from within Twitter that sent in a recording of Jack Dorsey who blandly talks about bigger and deeper censorship like he’s supplying widgets rather than trying to get 330 million people to agree with him.

My favourite winning line:

“The US is extremely divided , he says...  our role is to protect the integrity of that conversation…. ” by forcing half the country to shut up and listen.

Giving people a voice is so old hat,  Twitter aims to to promote health and happiness and  “ensure no one is being harmed by” crushing their voices, exiling people from the conversation and stopping wise people from sharing their thoughts..

Feel free to express yourself indeed.

The 50 Armed Protests that came to nothing apart from a few guys “who work with BLM and Antifa”

The FBI apparently didn’t save the nation from a semi-naked man with a spear who walked into the US Senate on one of the most important sitting days of Congress ever. But it warned a week ago of “Armed Protests” between Jan 17 and Jan 20th. There are still a few days left before inauguration day, but the big threat supposedly was 50 armed events at all state capitols on Jan 17th.

What threat?

(CNN)The FBI has received information indicating “armed protests” are being planned at all 50 state capitols and the US Capitol in Washington, DC in the days leading up to President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration on January 20, according to an internal bulletin obtained by CNN.

The news comes as security measures are being stepped up ahead of Inauguration Day, …
But who called for an armed protest — a reckless and risky move in the current environment? Not President Trump. The main evidence, apparently, was a flyer that called for an Armed March for 12PM Jan 17th. Was there any other credible threat?
Oddly,  the flyer was issued without any author or organisation.  Warnings went out on conservative sites saying “it’s a trap”.
Poster calling for an Armed Protest

An anonymous flyer calling for an armed protest?

Andrea Wideberg: “DO NOT ATTEND.  There is a 99.99999% certainty that this is a trap intended to give Democrats an excuse to destroy the Second Amendment and, quite possibly, to cordon off from society all Republicans and conservatives. Here’s the flyer, which we reproduce so that you’ll recognize it should you see it.  As you look at it, realize that you are the mouse, and this flyer is the cheese. “

Gateway Pundit also warned against it, and tracked a source (sorta, maybe) to  KennethBrooks1911 on Parler with a hashtag of #boogaloo. A Gateway reader followed the flyer back further and found someone called ““Turtle” at Tree of Liberty who announced the rally fully 2 months ago.

What emergency?

A thread called Capitol City Protest Tracker today couldn’t find a single big event on Sunday at 12 noon:

On Sunday, law enforcement members and journalists outnumbered the few people who showed up at state capitols across the nation.  A few states like Michigan and Ohio had large groups show up, some wearing attire or affiliating themselves with the boogaloo movement. Other than that it was a peaceful Sunday for most.

Police officers and journalists vastly outnumbered the small number of protesters who made an appearance. One of the more colorful demonstrators came with a sign reading “Spread the Love Honk Honk.” “It’s a beautiful day — nothing happening here,” one man said as he biked past the Old Capitol.

Jack Posobiec (a reporter at OANN) tweets about the Boogaloo Movement:

The Right Wing Boogaloo Movement are so far right they wear BLM shirts.
Brendan Gutenschwager reports from a protest in Lansing:
@BGOnTheScene ·
While discussing Joe Biden at today’s Lansing protest, one of the Boogaloo members says “at least the BLM and the Antifa people we work with hate them just as much” and speaks out against the Democratic establishment #Michigan #Lansing #BoogalooBois #Capitol    [Link to video]
If only the FBI had seen the January 6 Capitol event coming?
Is the FBI just incompetent,  or is it “successful” but mainly as a PR wing for the Democrats?  Could there be a pattern here? The fails both under and overstate the risks. But seemingly every fail allows media messages that are helpful to the Democrats: Hunter-Biden laptop held for 12 months while the Democrats pick his father as “best” candidate for President and the nation goes to the polls. Then there is the lack of any real protection for Capitol Hill on Jan 6, followed by the huge preparation for the fifty armed protests that were almost nothing. Tick, tick, tick.
Reuters doesn’t see it as an FBI failure, instead it hints unnecessarily, in a cumbersome sentence, that not many Trump supporters believe the Presidents “False Claim” that he won the 2020 election.
HARRISBURG, Pa./LANSING, Mich. (Reuters) – Law enforcement officers far outnumbered protesters at state capitol grounds on Sunday, as few Trump supporters who believe the president’s false claim that he won the 2020 election turned out for what authorities feared could be violent demonstrations.
Now is not the time to mention that when Trump did call for supporters to turn up, hundreds of thousands came.

More than a dozen states activated National Guard troops to help secure their capitol buildings following an FBI warning of armed demonstrations, with right-wing extremists emboldened by the deadly attack on the U.S. Capitol in Washington on Jan. 6.

Security officials had eyed Sunday as the first major flashpoint, as the anti-government “boogaloo” movement made plans weeks ago to hold rallies in all 50 states.

A $460m budget and the capitol police let in Mr Horns plus a spear?

The Capitol Hill Police Force has 2,300 officers and a budget of $460 million, it’s bigger than the entire Atlanta Police force, yet Jake Angeli, or “Buffalo man” made it all the way into the Senate Chamber with a full metal spear “disguised” as a flag staff with just a cable tie.

And they even had three days warning.

The whole force answers to Nancy Pelosi. If the storming of Capitol Hill was “a coup” in progress, Pelosi’s leadership was an incompetent failure. But if the storming was a Publicity stunt, allowing Mr Spear-n-Horns in to star in front page spreads was a success.

The Capitol Hill Riot Was Pelosi’s Fault, Not Trump’s

Daniel Greenfield, Frontpage Mag

The media has constructed a false narrative in which the White House overreacted to BLM and underreacted to the Capitol riot. But it wasn’t the White House’s job to protect Congress. That’s why Congress has a force of 2,300 people and a $460 million budget with just one job to do.

The question of why it failed at that job ought to be directed to Pelosi and congressional leaders.

The Capitol riot is Pelosi’s disaster and she’s making the most of it by blaming it on everyone else. Her private police force had the resources and the people to keep out the Visigoths, never mind a few hundred people, and instead turned what should have been a riot into a disaster.

100 million hateful Tweets against Trump: Twitter is The Left wing Hate Machine

Social media platform Gab has not only backed up Donald Trump’s entire Twitter account, they stored millions of the replies to him as well. Gab has been conducting a secret program called the Liberal Hate Machine — where they back up all the toxic replies in a searchable database.

While Twitter is perma-banning Trump for telling people to march peacefully, they are happy to publish vile abusive threats against him every day of the year.

Gab estimates that there are 100 million toxic replies. (like this?)

Feel the healing…

Gab goes after Twitter

by Human Events Staff

Social media platform Gab revealed Sunday that they have been collecting examples of hateful and potentially illegal threats, slurs and other comments made in response to President Donald Trump’s tweets.

“For months we have been backing up every reply to Donald Trump’s tweets,” the site wrote in a tweet that has since been deleted. “We call this project the Liberal Hate Machine.”

“It conducts sentiment analysis to detect threats of violence, slurs and more. There’s a LOT. It’s searchable too. Stay tuned,” the tweet said.

As Gab saysWe have 100m+ tweets …Twitter is a very hateful and violent place…”

Twitter has already deleted the Gab tweets . “Sorry that twitter doesn’t exist!”

Mass murder is OK  says Twitter:

NewYork Post:

And while Trump’s alleged calls for violence, in fact he explicitly called for peaceful protest, got him banned, the Ayatollah Khamenei tweeted this in November, “. . . Palestine will be free, while the fake Zionist regime will perish. There’s no doubt about this.” So encouraging a completely legal challenge to election results gets our President banned, but the leader of Iran’s brutal state threatening to wipe out Israel is no problem at all.

We can always go to Poland for free speech:

Poland Unveils Draft Law to Guarantee Free Speech Online

Jack Montgomery, Breitbart

Mexican Leader wants free speech too

Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador… has announced a plan to rally other leaders around the world against social media censorship that has escalated in unprecedented ways over these last days.

Obrador specified that he would bring the issue up in the G20 format and is now inviting other countries to join the effort, making it clear that the initiative was sparked by the recent banning of US President Trump by major social networks. Obrador wondered, “How can a company act as if it was all-powerful, omnipotent?”

How does it feel to live in a land which is being criticized for free speech from Mexico, Russia and Poland?

Psychic? Capitol attack, not so spontaneously incited days before speech happened

It didn’t matter what Trump said, days before he said it, people were already planning the attack, and the FBI, NYPD, and USCP knew that too.

Is this a one day drive-by impeachment, asks John Solomon. Before the evidence is even presented? Reporter, John Solomon wants to know if Pelosi et al were advised in advance, what did they know? If they didn’t know, it was a failure of the police. If they did know, it’s a scandal that they didn’t say something in advance or put in proper security.

The US Attorney is bringing a conspiracy case which can’t happen if there wasn’t advance planning.

As usual, a whole lot of innocent law-abiding people, just can’t supply the evidence that shows how innocent they are. The DC police are investigating the Capitol attack, but won’t supply the evidence to an FOIA because, wait for it, it might be “personally embarrassing”? The whole event is being used to in an attempt to accuse, impeach and humiliate The President, but we must protect some underling (who) instead? Or perhaps we need to “protect” the citizens from being able to make up their own minds?

Just the News: “How could Trump incite an attack that had already been pre-planned and was in motion before his speech ended?:

The FBI admitted Tuesday it received information ahead of the Jan. 6 tragedy suggesting some participants were planning a “war” on the Capitol, including killing officers and distributing maps of the complex. It alerted Washington D.C. law enforcement through the joint terrorism task force alert system. It also “disrupted” the travel plans of some of the suspected trouble-makers.

“We developed some intelligence that a number of individuals were planning to travel to the D.C. area with intentions to cause violence,” Assistant Director Steven M. D’Antuono said. “We immediately shared that information, and action was taken.”

The New York Police Department is reported to have given the Capitol Police similar intelligence warnings of impending violence.

The chief federal prosecutor in Washington declared Tuesday he is pursuing conspiracy charges, signaling the attacks on the Capitol involved multiple acts and multiple conspirators working in concert with each other. The prosecutor talked about the planting of carefully constructed IEDs as one such act.

John Solomon also discusses ObamaGate documents to be declassified tomorrow. Donald Trump is releasing a “foot high pile” of FBI documents from the Christopher Steele case Friday US time. The FBI was spying on the Trump campaign as early as August 2016 before he was even elected.  “Explosive Stuff”.

The National Guard is all over Congress now, which is a great Photo Op for the Left. But when the Police Chief asked for them before the event he was refused.

The U.S. Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund, who resigned after the attack, told The Washington Post that security officials at the House and Senate rebuffed his early request to call in the National Guard ahead of a protest.

Real America’s Voice:

DC Police Reject FOIA Request For Records Related to Their Probe of Siege of Capitol – Insider Leaked Maps, Internal Docs to Help Assist Rioters Navigate Building

Cristina Laila, GatewayPundit

President Trump was blamed for the siege of the US Capitol last Wednesday, however the FBI confirmed the attack was planned several days in advance.

Solomon said the FBI, NYPD and USCP had prior knowledge of plans for violence at the US Capitol, including intel threatening murder of police officer.

If this was a planned attack, you can’t accuse the President of inciting a spontaneous attack when it was planned days before.

John Solomon also said that inside sources leaked maps, internal documents helping to assist rioters enter and navigate the Capitol building.

In the video below Antifa or BLM leader John Sullivan breaks glass, films fatal shooting, incites violence and brags about pretending to be a Trump supporter. A CNN reporter, Jade Sacker, was there on the day and recorded it, but they didn’t show the nation on their nightly news?

While most Trump supporters were still more than a mile away listening to President Trump, the rioters were already crashing into Congress.

Timeline reveals Capitol Hill riot began 20 mins before end of Trump’s speech

The New York Times compiled video footage with time stamps to document nearly every moment of Jan. 6 siege of the Capitol building in Washington D.C.

The timeline shows that the violence at the Capitol building began 20 minutes before Trump finished his speech that Wednesday afternoon.

The vital events of that day took place in an approximately two hour period from roughly 1 pm to after 3 pm.

Roughly 20 minutes before the end of his speech is when scuffles began to break out between protesters and police on Capitol Hill, according to the NYT’s timeline.

Police could be seen about 1 pm holding off groups of violent protesters pushing up against the thin police line in front of the Capitol steps. This was when the first police barriers were reportedly breached by the mob.

Junk study on Vitamin D shows nothing much but how bad science reporting is

The Sun provides Vitamin D

The Sunlight Vitamin

UPDATED! Mea Culpa from me. The post has been corrected*.  Thanks to Rob.

__________________

More junk reporting from the Australian government broadcaster the ABC which just copies the junk science press release. Is this what we pay $1b a year for?

The Journalists missed the key factor which was blood levels of participants.

The headline says Clinical trial finds vitamin D does not ward off colds and flu  but all it really shows is that in a group that already have *normal, non-deficient levels* of Vitamin D, taking big doses of Vitamin D once a month won’t will raise your blood levels — but won’t make a big difference to your risk of respiratory infections. And it only applies to people aged 60 -74.

Most participants in the study had a normal but sub-optimal Vit D levels and after five years of sporadic high doses, were raised to optimal levels at the end.

After taking 60,000 IU each month, supplementers apparently went from having 77.5  nmol/L up to 114.8 nmol/L,. To put this in perspective, normal levels of Vitamin D start at “50” and above, and there are professors who point out that there are many reasons to aim for Vitamin D levels of “100 – 150”.  Toxicity starts from 220nmol/L.

UPDATE: As we saw in the Brenner et al study of 10,000 Germans, when people are quite deficient (below 30 nmol/L) they are twice as likely to die of respiratory diseases as people whose blood levels are normal — defined as being above 50 nmol/L. The people who are most at risk of dying are those who are clinically deficient at below 20 nmol/L. Their risk was 3 times greater.  That study showed that a shocking 40% of all respiratory deaths might possibly be due to being deficient in Vitamin D. This new study in Queensland only shows that raising Vitamin D levels in people who are not deficient won’t make much difference.

If so-called science journalists only bothered spend five minutes reading the short summary (not even the whole paper) they could report something useful. See  The Lancet Diabetes and Endocrinology. The journalists made a big deal of how the “researchers analysed self-reported health data from 16,000 Australians aged between 60 and 84”. But the study ruled out most participants, and ended up with only 2,598 people.

I rate the study: barely worth noticing.

The shoddy work by “science communicators” is just another example of how science writing becomes de facto mere repetition of press releases which are usually dependent on government funding. No hard questions asked.

If you don’t know or care much about Vitamin D3 you may want to find out how it’s linked to all cause mortality (unlike nearly every other vitamin) : Let’s solve the other pandemic: Vitamin D deficiency — to help beat Coronavirus?
