Suspected biolab found in rental house in Las Vegas with reports of cleaners falling “deadly ill”

By Jo Nova

We need to talk about bioweapons…

A house cleaner known only as Kelly reported a suspicious garage in an AirBNB in Las Vegas to the FBI a few weeks ago. Apparently it was normally locked, but when it was left open she noticed a foul “hospital” smell. On Saturday investigators found fridges  and carted away “more than 1,000 pieces of evidence”. They arrested a man who managed the property and discovered the owner he worked for was in jail and used to own the Reedley illegal bioweapon lab as well. That was the lab found by sheer chance that had vials of samples marked “Ebola”, “HIV”, Covid-19″ and “Tuberculosis”. There were also a thousand lab mice in there and people wearing hazmat suits.

Righto, so having found a hostile, highly dangerous, existential potential threat in 2023, no one asked the question, “does he own anything else?” No one thought to look at his other properties?

Kelly, the AirBNB cleaner was probably extra suspicious because she and another employee reported that the garage made them sick:

Police source describes falling ‘deathly ill’ after entering Las Vegas garage where biolab was found

By Darcy Spears, Alyssa Roberts, KTNV, Las Vegas.

She and another employee both reported becoming “deathly ill” in April 2025, about five days after going into the garage. Their symptoms included “breathing issues, fatigue, couldn’t get out of bed, and muscle aches.” Both believed they were sick because of the biolab in the garage. Kelly also told the FBI that Solomon’s wife got sick after entering the garage, and that “a lot of people in the house have gotten sick, including one female who ended up in the hospital with severe respiratory issues.”

The man who managed the house is known as Ori Solomon, who apparently manages another 37 AirBnBs. The house owner, meanwhile,  is a Chinese citizen called Jia Bei Zhu (aka “David He”) who was arrested after the Reedley lab was uncovered, and was jailed in California. Records show he phoned Solomon 467 times in the last year.  And again, no one thought that was worth following up? Apparently being jailed doesn’t slow down organised crime, or possibly our enemies.

Most ominously, in this case he wasn’t jailed for having vials of Ebola in his fridge, because, the CDC refused to analyze the samples. Zhu could not be charged with any type of bioterrorism crime if no one “found” any evidence of viral threats.

It’s not only baffling that this happened, but also that we didn’t hear about it.

This is according to Kevin Kiley, a congressman in California:

The Reedley lab was discovered in December of 2022, when a code inspector came upon a suspicious warehouse. Inside, she found many Chinese nationals “wearing white lab coats, glasses, masks, and latex gloves,” along with “thousands of vials of biological substances” and 1,000 mice. It was later learned these were “transgenic” mice “genetically engineered to catch and carry the COVID-19 virus.” A further inspection found “blood, tissue and other bodily fluid samples and serums” along with thousands of vials of “suspected biological material.” Some of the vials were labeled with the names of infectious agents, while others were labeled in a “code” that was never deciphered.

At first, the CDC refused to investigate, and even hung-up on local officials who asked for help. After Rep. Costa got involved, the CDC did an inspection and found “at least 20 potentially infectious agents, including HIV, Tuberculosis, and the deadliest known form of Malaria.” Yet the CDC did not bother to test any samples, even those with unknown contents, making it “impossible for the Select Committee to fully assess the potential risks that this specific facility posed to the community.” The Select Committee report calls this “baffling.” Later, local officials discovered a refrigerator in the lab labeled “Ebola.”

He also notes there did not appear to be any profit based reason for the lab, but there was funding from China:

While the supposed purpose of the lab was to sell test kits, in fact all the company did was buy counterfeit kits from China and re-sell them in the United States. Thus, there was a “lack of apparent legitimate (or even profit-motivated criminal) motive in the operation of the illegal facility.” Meanwhile, Jesse Zhu, its operator, was “receiving unexplained payments via wire transfer” from Chinese banks.

As it happens, the house in Las Vegas is right next to a large water reservoir, and only a few miles from the Nellis Air Force Base. A small outbreak at an inconvenient time might be quite handy for an adversary? Though Richard Ebright worries more that enemies might want to carry out a false flag operation against a US “select-agent” (bioweapon) lab.

It seems the FBI has discovered a new interest in the Reedley labs a few days ago and went back to get stuff they left behind the first time. We might hope they were finally getting around to investigating it, but perhaps they are just covering their own asses?

Yet again, we are reminded that no matter how corrupt we think our institutions are, it’s worse.

What’s more scary — that officials have found another possible biolab in Las Vegas (and there may be many more), or that it was obviously and easily connected to the Reedley bioweapon lab found in California, and no one bothered to investigate? I mean, which is worse — that we’re in a cold war with the potential of being in a hot one, or that our worst enemies may be on our own side, or already paid off by the enemy?

Extreme heat will make Darwin unlivable say ABC prophets and soothsayer activists (who don’t know it was hotter 120 years ago)

By Jo Nova

The Northern Territory will become unlivable says the ABC, mindlessly parroting the latest activist-blob voodoo.

The ABC Blob News spent nearly $3 million dollars of our money today but didn’t spend ten minutes cross checking the latest scare.

Extreme heat will make Northern Territory unlivable within 40 years, activists warn

By Matthew Qvortrup, ABC

The Climate Justice Alliance, a coalition of health, housing, environmental and social service organisations, says rising temperatures and increasingly severe heatwaves present a direct and immediate threat to people across the Territory, particularly in the Top End.

Environmental advocate Ned Bible from Jesuit Social Services said the scale and speed of warming meant urgent, coordinated action was needed from all levels of government.

“Without urgent action, extreme heat will make the Northern Territory unlivable in less than 40 years,” Dr Bible said.

If only the ABC spent two minutes searching the historic temperature records on the BoM site they’d see that while temperatures have risen since the 1940s, Darwin has long good records and it was hotter 120 years ago. And before anyone says “non standard equipment” the answer is “No” — Stevenson screens were installed in Darwin by 1894 and they recorded many annual mean temperatures above 33 °C in the next ten years. Temperatures today have only just returned to to that with the help of hot airport tarmac, population growth, electronic sensors and radar interference. If any data needs correcting in this graphs, it’s probably the recent readings which might be in shrunken 60L screens, with electronic equipment that records one second records and gusts of hot air off the tarmac.

The temperatures in Darwin fell, and it’s taken nearly 90 years to recover:

Sources: BOM Data for Darwin post office and for the Airport.

The ABC lie by omission

They show the recent graph but not the historic one.

And that cooling trend has been known for 75 years — it also stretched across a vast area of Australia including Alice Springs, Hay and Bourke, and was written up in a peer reviewed paper by Deacon et al in 1952.

Jennifer Marohasy analyzed the data from Darwin and concluded that what the BOM had done to the original data was “indefensible”.

If they don’t rewrite history, they just ignore it…

The Climate Justice Alliance seem to think climate change will hurt the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples disproportionately more than everyone else. But haven’t they been here for 40,000 years? If so, their ancestors survived the Holocene when the world was so much warmer that the seas were 1.5 metres higher around Australia. I hear the air-conditioners were not too good either.

The cruellest thing we can do to anyone in a heatwave is make their electricity unaffordable because we’re trying to change the weather.

If we sold off the ABC we could buy a billion dollars worth of  airconditioning for the poor.

UN dreams of siphoning a “climate tax”from The West through a tax on fossil fuel companies and the ultra rich

By Jo Nova

The United Nations, as nice as they are, just want to tax the evil corporate giants who polluted the world. What teenage doting girlie would not be happy with that? (What communist sympathizer could say “no”?) I mean, wouldn’t we all want a wealth tax on the uber rich to help stop storms and droughts and prevent obesity in polar bears? And wouldn’t we all want that money to go to an unelected, unaudited committee in Geneva?

In reality, of course, the UN dreams of taxing the likes of Shell and Exxon in order to …  get back the money Donald Trump took away. But they can’t just ask the hardworking middle class of America to pay the UN directly, especially when they voted for Donald Trump.  Instead they tax the big companies, and hope no one notices that Big Oil will just recover the costs by raising the price of oil and gas.  Where do they think the money will come from?

The bill will be paid by pension funds and shareholders who lose profits, grandmas who want to heat their homes, and mums and dads filling up cars and buying frozen peas. Everything will cost more and a few cents of everything will go to the UN.

Fossil fuel firms may have to pay for climate damage under proposed UN tax

Framework Convention on International Tax Cooperation could also force ultra-rich to pay global wealth tax

by Fiona Harvey and Heather Stewart, The Guardian (of The Blob)

Fossil fuel companies could be forced to pay some of the price of their damage to the climate, and the ultra-rich subjected to a global wealth tax, if new tax rules are agreed under the UN.

Negotiations on a planned global tax treaty will resume at the UN headquarters in New York on Monday, with dozens of countries supporting stronger rules that would make polluters pay for the impact of their activities.

But developing countries are worried the current draft of the proposals is too weak,…

Dozens of third world countries support stronger rules because the UN will have more cash to buy their votes with.

It’s a rush, even though the cost of natural disasters has been falling for a century. Hurry, hurry!

Negotiating the convention, which could be adopted as soon as the end of next year if countries can iron out details, was now urgent, she added, as more countries were afflicted by climate-related disasters. “This [tax] is critical for domestic resource mobilisation so that countries can sustainably rebuild and become resilient to increasingly devastating climate impacts, rather than become more dependent on borrowing and debt,” she told the Guardian. “There can be no sustainability without dealing with climate change in the way we design our global tax rules.”

If it comes to pass, the UN will effectively be taking money from the poorest of the poor in the West, and siphoning the money through corporate profits, straight into Antonio Guterres frequent flyer account.

It makes no sense, of course, to blame fossil fuel companies for what millions of their customers choose to do or not do with their products. But it’s a good way to hide the UN climate tax on all our citizens.

Yet again, the UN wants to be the One World Unelected Government.

Yet again, we are reminded we need to cancel all funding to parasitic globalist committees.

Australians slam brakes on EVs: Youngest drivers had a “stronger connection” to fossil fuel cars

By Jo Nova

The good news never ends for the forced transition to electric cars

The latest surveys show Australians are rapidly losing interest in buying an EV (even if they do make the weather nicer a hundred years from now):

Australian drivers slam brakes on electric vehicle sales amid battery cost fears

Australia’s electric vehicle market has hit the skids, with drivers stepping back from new purchases, citing fears over hidden costs and long-term battery uncertainty. A new report from Australia’s biggest auto classifieds site, Carsales, has unearthed that consumers are cooling towards battery-powered vehicles despite a fierce market battle between Chinese-owned BYD and Tesla.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but this (below) sounds like an EV salesman trying not to say that 64% of Australians won’t even consider an EV:

Carsales’s latest EV Consumer Survey has revealed that electric vehicle consideration among Australian drivers has levelled out at 36 per cent, highlighting the market’s abrupt halt.

Except, from another source, it’s 70% who won’t consider buying an EV.

Lifetime EV consideration has again dropped, with only 30% of respondents ever considering an EV. This continued drop from 56% (June 2022) likely reflects the cost of living crisis and a decrease in disposable income for the average person.

A backlash to the high tech vehicle

Interestingly, even though Millennials (aged 25-35) are the age-group most likely to consider buying an EV, their younger brothers and sisters in Gen Z (18-24) were more attached to petrol engines:

Some drivers, particularly Generation Z — those born from 1997 to 2012 — cited a stronger connection to traditional internal combustion engine cars. Mr Booth found this counter-intuitive, stating, “you would think that they would be more technologically advanced, because that’s what they grew up… but this seems to be this throwback.”

Perhaps they’ve heard about the latest Volvo EV recall? These hapless owners of one-year-old cars have been told not to charge them more than 70% full, because there is a danger they might catch fire. Ominously, there is no fix available, yet. Volvo says that when a remedy is available they will notify the owners. Doesn’t that make you feel good?

So nearly 3000 Volvo EV owners now have a much shorter range “indefinitely”.

As MGuy points out this follows straight on from Mercedes having to do a big recall for the same fire risk.

Not so coincidentally, the Labor Government has just announced some free money so more rich people can buy an EV:

Labor turns to cheap loans to shore up electric vehicle demand as budgets tighten

Taxpayers shopping for a new electric vehicle will be offered a $1900 sweetener, under the Albanese government’s latest bid to boost uptake and align motorists with Labor’s ambitious climate targets.

In a discount loan scheme, electric vehicles priced below the luxury car tax threshold of $91,378 will qualify for interest rate discounts of between 0.5 and 1 percentage point.

No matter what the question is, the answer is always to steal purchasing power from the poor and give it to Labor’s inner city friends.

Fake papers from China, Iran, flood science journals

Science Communication pollution. Media. Marketing.

By Jo Nova

If someone wanted to sabotage Western science, this would be a useful technique

A research team has used AI to analyze 2.6 million cancer papers and found a quarter of a million have used suspicious tortured phrases, incorrect reagents, fabricated data and altered or reused figures — all hallmarks of fakery at the industrial paper-mill. A dumb AI will change “energy use” to vitality utilization or convert “raw data” to crude information.

The commentariat is blaming profit and greed for the flood of fake papers, but what if this is no accident? If I were an enemy of The West, and I wanted to sabotage scientific research, this would work like a DDOS on science. Researchers would spend hours running meta-analyses of dud results. They might change their own experiments, scurrying down pointless rabbit holes in search of an effect that doesn’t exist. Or, they might drop a useful approach if they thought someone had tried it and failed. And it can’t be too good for the cancer patients either, can it?

Even businesses might find it appealing to slow down or confuse the competition. Or perhaps they’d like to quote a paper to get their government grant but they can’t find one? So many people can benefit from fake science, (heck, our whole government does) it’s hard to see where it ends.

Fake cancer research from China and Iran flood scientific journals, study reveals

By Natasha Bita, The Australian

Chinese and Iranian academics are flooding research journals with fake science, an Australian government-funded investigation has revealed.

At least 250,000 published papers on cancer research have been flagged as potentially false, in the analysis of 2.6 million cancer studies between 1999 and 2024.

One in three of the flagged research papers came from China, 20 per cent from Iran, 16 per cent from Saudi Arabia, 15 per cent from Egypt and 15 per cent from Pakistan.

The rot is endemic, right to the top:

While smaller scientific publishers were most likely to publish questionable studies, the QUT filter flagged as fake 10 per cent of papers from the mainstream John Wiley & Sons and nearly 7 per cent of SAGE Publications.

The problem *might* be getting worse… you think?

Most of the fake papers studied here were done without the help of  AI wizardry (at least those before 2022).  Presumably, as AI helps in fake paper creation, it will be much harder to spot the fake ones…

Fake papers are contaminating the world’s scientific literature, fueling a corrupt industry and slowing legitimate lifesaving medical research

The Con-versation.

The problem reflects a worldwide commodification of science. Universities, and their research funders, have long used regular publication in academic journals as requirements for promotions and job security, spawning the mantra “publish or perish.”

But now, fraudsters have infiltrated the academic publishing industry to prioritize profits over scholarship. Equipped with technological prowess, agility and vast networks of corrupt researchers, they are churning out papers on everything from obscure genes to artificial intelligence in medicine.

These papers are absorbed into the worldwide library of research faster than they can be weeded out. About 119,000 scholarly journal articles and conference papers are published globally every week, or more than 6 million a year. Publishers estimate that, at most journals, about 2% of the papers submitted – but not necessarily published – are likely fake, although this number can be much higher at some publications.

We already knew peer reviewed papers were biased, one sided, barely checked, and lacking in transparency, but now increasingly, they’re just fake.

The largest scientific experiment in history was Peer Review itself and it failed

Peer Review has been a sixty year experiment with no control group. It’s pretty lousy for science, but essential for freeloaders.

The 15 minute city is back

15 Minute City, WEF, UN.

By Jo Nova

Surprise! The Blob wants to track your car, limit your travel, get more of your money (but only so they can fix the weather!)

How could they resist? The 15-minute city is the fantasy idea that the unwashed masses can get everything they need within 15 minutes of home. But of course, their  family may live somewhere else, as might their favourite dentist. How many old folks in nursing homes will miss out on visits because someone doesn’t want to fill out a permission slip or get a fine?

The UK government has said it will let councils use official databases of drivers licences in order to fine people driving outside their “permitted area”.

Oxford has divided up its city into six areas and is set to start fining people later this year. The head of the Alliance of British Drivers said it was “A page out of the East German playbook.”

If this gets off the ground in the UK, we know it’ll end up here.

Labour opens door to ‘Stalinist’ 15-minute cities across Britain

By Camilla Turner, The Telegraph UK

The most high-profile example of such a plan is in Oxford, where the council put forward proposals to divide the city into six “15-minute neighbourhoods”.

Under the scheme, drivers would need a residents’ permit that allows 100 days of free travel per year through six traffic filters during operating hours.

Meanwhile, a separate permit allows 25 days of free travel per year through six congestion charge locations during charging hours, and after this, drivers face fines if they travel without the relevant permission.

Greg Smith, shadow transport minister, said: “This is the blueprint for a national rollout. Labour has given the green light for draconian councils like Oxfordshire to police how people live, move and drive, using cameras and fines backed by DVLA data.

“Oxford is the test case…

Australians would be wise to prepare the ground for mass protests. The Blob will take as much as they can get until the people scream, so if you’re going to have to protest sooner or later, better to just say “No” now.

How many degrees cooler will our world be with 15 minute cities?

Victoria appears to be almost as hot today as it was back in 1932

Victorian Heat Wave, Trove, temperatures.

By Jo Nova

Despite the news headlines about the hottest ever heatwave in Victoria this week — old Australian newspapers are mysteriously full of reports of hotter temperatures. Consider, for example January 1932.

Photo: Jo Nova

The town called Ouyen reached 47.5 °C this week — the “hottest temperature ever recorded” we’re told, but 94 years ago it was reported to be 124 °F  (51.1 °C). Not far away  Mildura reached 123 °F (50.6 °C) and to the south, Hopetoun reached 114 °F (45.6 °C).

You might wonder if these local stations were inaccurate or badly managed, but in New South Wales, Pooncarie recorded 121 °F (49.4 °C) in the shade at 2 pm, Wilcannia – 117 °F (47.2 °C) at the same time, Broken Hill reached 114 °F (45.6 °C), Menindee was 116 °F (46.7 °C), and Bourke – 116 °F (46.7 °C). The heat stretched across to Port Augusta which recorded – 119 °F (48.3 °C). Were they all crazy, or was it really hot?

You might also wonder if they were using non-standard thermometers or the wrong screens, or enclosures which might bias the measurements. Except the Bureau of Meteorology standardized official thermometers to Stevenson Screens around the turn of last century, and it was mostly finalized twenty years before these temperatures were recorded. And not only were blisteringly high temperatures recorded across vast distances–  but then there are the birds. Lordy but the parrots and zebra finches fell from the skies in mass deaths due to the heat. As a kind of macabre proxy thermometer, we know the temperature crossed some kind of terrible threshhold when there were piles of dead birds “two feet high”, and stories of people hauling out thousands of dead birds from dams, including in one case, as many as 60,000 dead parrots.

Credit for this goes to Lance Pidgeon, (Siliggy) the volunteer who dug out all these old temperature recordings from National Archives 15 years ago and found stories about the mass bird deaths during that heat wave which he and Warwick Hughes published.

Unlike the BOM, none of us is paid by taxpayers and yet we managed to find these old records. But the BOM is paid nearly a million dollars a day to give Australians the truth the whole truth, and nothing but the truth and yet they don’t seem to be able to do a basic internet search? And even if we do the search for them, they still can’t find it.

It’s time the BOM stopped hiding Australia’s climatic history from Australians. In 1909, the town of Bourke had a Stephenson screen and they recorded 125F or 51.7°C.But the BOM deleted that record because it was measured on a Sunday. Given that modern thermometers are electronic, and prone to picking up one-second records, and interference from airport radar, in new small 60L screens,  placed near hot tarmac, and then corrected with thermometers up to 1,500 kilometers away, it’s hard to imagine how thermometers in 1932 needed adjustment to correct anything, when they were probably far more accurate than todays errant batch.

In this case even if Victoria is somehow a tenth of a degree hotter now that it was in 1932 before China built 1,000 coal plants,  it’s a big So What? Is this what we’re turning our economy inside out to change? Australia has always had extremely hot days.

The ABC receives a billion dollars a year to tell Australians the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. Yet they serve up biased stories which are poorly researched and which coincidentally favor the political team most ABC journalists vote for.

Below, the sad story of the mass death of thousands of birds, where dams and wells for hundreds of miles were piled with dead birds…

A heatwave kills thousands of birds — this was climate change in 1932

https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/59308062

So much for 94 years of climate change.

‘Catastrophic’ national grid failure coming to Australia says grid expert

© Jo Nova

By Jo Nova

“It’s just a matter of time” says Frontier Economics chief Danny Price

Even though it was a public holiday, there was a raging bonfire in prices in South Australia on the evening of Australia Day. The spike in prices hit a blistering $20,000 peak and stayed there for three long  hours…

Expert Danny Price warns of ‘catastrophic’ national grid failure after SA price surge

By Patrick Starick, The Advertiser

The average price for every hour of the 24 hour period in South Australia was $2,457 per megawatthour.

Frontier Economics chief Danny Price, a key architect of energy policy for state and federal governments, warns renewables cannot meet high electricity demand and predicts significant outages and high prices.
Wholesale electricity spot prices spiked in SA to near the $20,000 per megawatt hour limit on a still Monday night, when household batteries drained and wind generation dipped, prompting the Australian Energy Market Operator to issue a low-reserve warning at 8.42pm.
“It is only a matter of time. It will happen. There’s no doubt that it will happen. Year by year the system becomes more fragile and that’s because people are spending less on coal.”

Dan Lee at WattClarity tracked the big batteries in South Australia and says they were run almost flat by 8:30pm. The 1.5GWh battery was down to 66MWh — empty.

This outcome is perhaps unsurprising given that much of the region’s battery fleet contains around two hours of duration, while the period of sustained high prices extended for more than three hours, pushing many batteries toward their energy limits as the evening wore on.

Danny Price thought it was “very, very lucky” that so far, heatwaves have basically hit Australia on weekends and holidays.

The state was running on an LOR1 — lack of reserve, Level 1. for hours. So any unexpected unit failure or break in a line could bring down the system.

To shore up Australia’s electricity grid, obviously then, we need more public holidays and weekends? Do it for the nation, eh?!

Shame if you run a business…
