The EU Free Trade agreement would Weaponize the Paris Agreement
The Labor Party want to sign a deal with the EU which means that future Australian governments won’t be able to drop the Paris Agreement without being bludgeoned in trade by the EU. If we revise our Net Zero goals downwards or delay them the EU can cut access for our farmers to their markets. And the EU will be able to say they are not bullying us, or interfering with our sovereign rights, they are just enforcing a trade agreement we signed up for.

The ABC and the Guardian think they are onto some hot scandalous leak, but they don’t seem to realize the awful truth they are accidentally revealing.
This is not the story of an evil miner failing to make commitments, it’s the story of their technology fantasy busting. If wind and solar power were cheap, the profit hungry miners would be doing it wouldn’t they?
Instead all their ambitious plans are coming undone.
BHP is the largest mining company in the world, it has shareholder approval to spend millions on wind and solar projects and on the conversion to electric trucks. They also had an enthusiastic management and Net Zero targets, yet somehow the company has decided to drop or delay the wind and solar projects, and the low emissions processing plant too. It’s all been put in the deep freeze, delayed until 2031 before it even starts.
The truth is that the big electric haul trucks are not even close to being ready, and without the batteries to soak up the unreliable power, there was no point in spending a billion dollars on the wind and solar projects either yet.

The WHO is itching to trigger the climate and health “Emergency” Powers Act or whatever legalistic bomb our patsy governments signed on our behalf.
Apparently millions of people will die if we don’t have a UN rubber stamp called “Emergency” to save them — because, obviously the big rich countries would never think to send boatloads of fuel, food and clothes all by themselves. The aim of the new Australian Centre for Disease Control is not about our health per se, but to be an antidote to skepticism. No, seriously. They say that. The new Director General has “vowed to prioritise transparent medical evidence and proactive engagement with vaccine sceptics.”
You might think stopping Ebola and nixing bioweapons would be higher on the list? Silly you. This agency will get $250 million dollars over the next four years to basically help sell vaccines for starving multinational pharmaceutical giants. “Trust us” they say.

The Biggest Banker in the world has flipped
Way back in his 2021 annual CEO letter, Larry Fink, CEO of BlackRock, wrote: “No issue ranks higher than climate change.” It will reshape global capital flows, he said, and declared “…anyone can see the impact of climate change in the natural disasters in California or Florida.”
Now though, nevermind about global extinctions and flash floods. Fink just spoke at the Davos ski club for billionaires, and declared that we need “trillions of dollars” of investment for AI. Data centres, he said, are rapidly expanding — one technology company he spoke to said that “its data centres currently use about 5 gigawatts, but by 2030 it expects to need 30 gigawatts.”
But like a true banker, he doesn’t see a backflip, he sees only investment opportunities — the world is short of power he says. This is just another public service announcement so nobody misses out on finding out just how far the media will prostitute themselves to trick the voters.
Two policemen were put in hospital at the March for Australia rally, but it was by rabid left leaning protestors throwing rocks, and bottles filled with broken glass. Despite that, the ABC didn’t even think it was worth mentioning at all and SBS used the violence to suggestively imply that both sides of the anti-mass-immigration protest were badly behaved.
The ABC said not one word about mass protests in every capital city, but they had time to tell Australians about anti-Trump No Kings March on the other side of the world and a tour of Japanese lamb-chop chefs. Even bunkers in Finland were more important. Priorities mate…
If a dozen people had turned up to protest climate change, they would have been on the news.
Victorian Police were understandably fed up. Commander Wayne Cheeseman was blunt — the violence was all from the left and the March for Australia crowd were peaceful and well behaved.

In terms of The Blob, the deepest darkest forces of power, the ones that scare even The Bankers, are surely the spies with guns, especially if they are unaccountable, politically biased spies with guns.
For four years since the January 6 Capitol Hill riots, the FBI has refused to say how many agents it had in the crowd, even to Congress, or even to the US President. Paul Homewood came across another die-hard believer still saying “What about all the subsidies!” He reminds us of the Guardian headline hand-wringing over $7 Trillion dollars of subsidies in support of fossil fuels. The main source of this meme is the IMF, so I went to their two year old report data to create the graphs that the IMF won’t.

The trillion dollar claims of fossil fuel subsidies amount to nothing more than IMF wet dream. Literally, 80% of the “subsidies” are what they’d like to charge oil and gas companies for things like the imaginary damage that CO2 does on simulated Earths in broken climate models. The IMF calls this “implicit subsidies”. You can I might call it a brazen fake (or worse).
The IMF has a budget of over $1 billion dollars a year, and they have 20 impenetrable super-graphs on their blog and report, but they don’t have the simple graphs like this, that I did below, showing that most of the subsidies are the “implied” imaginary sort, and that one country on Earth does all “the subsidies”. The Blob makes another move to expand their empire
A group of unelected officials in something called the Inter-American Court of Human Rights (IACHR) has decided that humans have the “right” to a stable climate and thus, you have the right to pay for it. The court that nobody has heard of says “states have legal obligations to protect people alive today and future generations from the impacts of climate breakdown.”
This includes the obligation to cut emissions, and to guard against the threat of climate disinformation. (Yes, they know they are lying.)

The winds of change are howling through electricity grids
Since 2022, AI -related firms have stormed the S&P 500 market — growing by $12 trillion dollars.
The IEA just posted a whole report dedicated to AI. The demand from data-centers is so large in some places it is already rivaling the kind of monster consumption we are used to seeing from aluminum smelters. There are six states in the United States where data centers already consume over 10% of the electricity supply. In Ireland, data centers swallow about 20% of the electricity.
Currently, a normal data center consumes the same amount of electricity as 100,000 houses. But the new gargantuan data centers under construction will consume 20 times as much — equivalent to adding 2 million homes to the grid.
Data centers of the world are not spread evenly. In Virginia, the largest conglomeration of industrial data, their demand for power pulls in a quarter of the state’s electricity.

The Coal Plant God is at it again — causing the oceans to swallow South Africa on the one hand and lifting up the land by 2mm a year with the other. (A lucky coincidence that disguises the horrors of rising seas, eh?). Apparently we used to think the land was rising due to hot plumes of magma far below, but now researchers say its because a drought has made the crustal plate lighter.

What a bomb to drop in the last days before the Australian election

The aggressive climate action of the Australian Labor Party is suddenly wildly far out on a branch.
There are council elections in the UK, and Nigel Farage’s party is “expected to make large gains”. So as Ed Cummings in The Telegraph describes it, Tony Blair, former Prime Minister, “chose this moment to lob a large grenade”.
Blair is possibly the first person within the Blob to say what skeptics have been saying for years, as if he thought of it all by himself. He’s pulling the pin on the idea that “Net Zero” is sensible, possible, and essential, but this is no mea culpa — more like an escape plan. The populist parties are rising across Europe, grids are falling, and the failures of the Left are becoming too obvious.
