The Climate religion is so fragile they had to train hairdressers to keep the fantasy levitating

By Jo Nova

Man-made weather control is such unscientific witchcraft it needs professional teams of coaches to maintain the mythology. It’s not enough to pump the doctrine in the nightly news, they have to nudge them while they get a cut n’ color.

We’ve now descended to the Pravda School of Hairdressing Science in order to keep the climate bubble floating above cold weather and shocking power bills. According to The Guardian customers are “embarrassed” that they don’t understand climate science, and can’t wait to have their hairdresser to explain radiative physics to them. Sorry, I mean, to sell them a solar panel or teach them how to lose money with an environmental pension fund. Sounds like a fun haircut, eh?

Guardian: hairdressers trained to talk about climate action

But who has the time (or money) to train 400 hairdressers in Sydney? The Climate Council of course. Tony Thomas does a deep dive into the media machine that they are. They have an $8.3 million budget from donations, and a staff of 50, including 20 full time media professionals.

As well as hairdressers the Climate Council trains firefighters, farmers, vets, surfers, football players, Aboriginal indentifiers, and of course “the media” itself. The team who are supposed to expose the industry lobbyists are trained by them to parrot their message.

Tell your friends, if the evidence for climate change was so overwhelming, why do they need $8 million dollar professional communication machines to teach hair-dressers and journalists how to respond to skeptical questions? We didn’t need a Gravity Council or  a committee to explain the science of passenger planes. For thirty years children have been bombed with the permitted climate lines at school. If Climate Science wasn’t a leaking ship sinking in the Bay of Reality, the climate cartel wouldn’t be so afraid of skeptical hairdressers.

On Climate, the Media is the Massage

Quadrant Magazine

The Council’s 2022 annual report boasts of its “drumbeat” of climate calamity, citing the planting of more than 22,000 stories in the media last year intended to influence “millions” of Australians. That’s 800 items a week obligingly regurgitated by stenographers identifying as journalists, plus a further 20,000 media items “supported” via third-party climate enthusiasts.[3]  The Council not only spoon-feeds alarmism to reporters, it actually trains them with union help to propagate the narrative: in 2022, it teamed up with the Media, Entertainment and Arts Alliance, to provide expert advice to journalists nationwide on accurately and responsibly reporting on the climate [supposed] crisis.

The engine room of the  Council is its Climate Media Centre. It likes to keep its dark arts there under wraps: You won’t see the Climate Media Centre mentioned in the media, but you will have heard the voices of the dozens of everyday Australians we support”  and “You won’t read about the Climate Media Centre in the news.” (Annual Report 20-21 p30),

These days the Council’ has 50 staff – including close to 20 media spinners [4]

Just appreciate how embedded and networked the climate meme is in the layers of government and organisations:

The Council mini-mes push its messaging from multiple directions.

♦ The before-mentioned Emergency Leaders for Climate Action (ELCA) has 40 emergency workers using their credibility to lobby all levels of government, while “facilitating countless media moments”. The Council actually counted ELCA’s “countless” media mentions, citing 78,000 from the 2019-20 fire season alone. (AR 20, p16). ELCA people might be good at their emergency jobs, but their expertise doesn’t extend to the merits of reconfiguring Australia’s electricity grid and net-zero CO2 by 2035 or 2050. The Emergency Leaders also scamper around the UN’s useless COP conferences parading Australia’s fires and floods survivors as icons for the world media.

♦ Another Council success is its “Cities Power Partnership”, with about 175 councils, shires, cities and capitals signing up to push climate follies onto ratepayers. The Climate Council spends 10 per cent of its budget coaching these green-captured entities, leveraging into 69 per cent of the Australian population. These councils are now replete with “climate emergency declarations” and multiple “Sustainability Officers” on six-figure pay. The Climate Council can readily mobilise 17 local mayors to lament climate’s alleged role in the floods and fires (605 media hits). It has also packaged all ten Hunter Valley shires to spruik anti-emissions on the coalfields.

Read it all at Quadrant….

The Climate Council was created by a Labor Prime Minister in 2011. It was closed by the following conservative government in 2013 whereupon it was rebirthed as a charity and funded by donors so it could continue producing Labor Green political material and supporting the industries that need Big Government support. What a coincidence…

Part of their income comes from the foreign Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors, but they have some local billionaires too. Presumably anyone standing to profit from solar, wind, batteries, desalination plants, carbon farming, eco-tourism, transmission line construction, precious metal mining, “ethical” investment, and electric vehicles has plenty of reasons to invest in the propaganda.

It’s like tax-deductable advertising.

I have given up thinking that there might be something that is too bizarre or ridiculous for the Left to do or believe in.

Everything and anything is possible, no matter how illogical, unscientific or immoral.

And the dates don’t correspond to April Fool’s Day.

How about a bundle of 340,000 votes, all for Biden, turning up after counting closed? Just enough to give BIden victory.

The story is a bit longer than that, but Trump’s claim of robbery does have legs.

I don’t believe it could happen here. Not yet, aanyway.

Canada has gone insane. I have a former Canadian friend who became sick of it and became a political refugee in the United States. That was at a time before Obama when it was possible for white, male, heterosexuals from Canada to legally immigrate there. It’s doubtful they would be allowed now. He is extremely happy living in a (relatively) free country and a red state and of course, working hard and being productive.

When is Timmy’s long promised caste system going to manifest itself with mother Gaia ensnaring the likes of Timmy in her voluminous folds and tresses?
You know, the one which assigns reproduction to one caste (don’t get knocked down in the rush) and picking up rubbish to another less exciting cohort.
I can’t remember whether he was being interviewed about his little fantasy by the BBC or The Guardian. No matter, I think something similar was practised in the 1930’s and 1940’s.

What is the carbon footprint of hair salons and spas?
Did hair spray exist before 1850?
    Nail polish?
How about that stuff that curls are straightens?
    Dyes?

I’ll wait patiently for the carbon scrutiny of beauty products.

Honk R. the rules of courting a potential mate are:-
Rule 1 Chad 6 pack must be 6 feet tall,6 figure income :- Go right ahead and gaze lustfully at a woman.
Rule 2. Failing to meet the criteria of rule 1. means that more than a fleeting glance at a woman labels you a predatory creep, a potential rapist.

You see Honk R., the beautification is extreme to chance playing in the Harem of Mr Rule 1. and a mans value is strictly set by the eye of the beholder. As a gynaecologist (Dr Hetherington) once remarked- Why do women wear make up and perfume? Coz they stink and are ugly!

The natural retaliation is to wear Kmart clothes, sneakers and have a #1 Buzz cut. Then proceed to look straight ahead walking in Malls etc. Actually you have to give the nail salon a wide berth- the pungent solvents are an OHS hazard.

My response to this at WUWT:
“Who could have predicted this one. After destroying the scientific method, the Hippocratic Oath, the Nuremberg Code, trashing concepts of sustainability, resilience, laws of thermodynamics, efficient agriculture etc etc, the loonie left have got around to attacking the ancient world-wide trade of hairdressing. As every (successful) hairdresser used to know, it is much easier to dress hair if your customer is comfortable and relaxed.
I guess I am lucky. The person who gets to tidy up my diy efforts is a climate realist, and knows that I am also, so we will have something new to laugh about.”
On WUWT there was a tendency by some to belittle the hairdressing profession.
Back in 1989 me and my wife got migrant visas for Oz because we had some useful post-grad stuff. This was in PNG. We would not have stood a chance from the UK. In fact the Brits didn’t know where we were for about 20 years, and we had no problem with that. Our neighbours at PNGUT also got visas, not because he was an electronics engineer, but because she was a hairdresser. That lady had a spring in her step for a while after that 🙂

Do these clueless fools have any idea where most of the hair dye products come from or other chemical products used in the hair dressing salon?

And where does the typical Leftist think their purple of green hair dye comes from? Most modern dyes are ultimately derived from benzene which comes from petroleum. (We’ll assume they no longer use various rare marine snails as the Romans and other Mediterranean ancients did for purple and blue.)

Well I cut my own hair and have done so for at least 40 years, so I won’t be having a delusional Flannery inspired lecture any time soon.
But why can’t the average bloke or sheila look up the data for themselves?
Humans have flourished for the last 100 years or 50 years or 30 years, just look up GDP per capita, life expectancy etc and billions more are now enjoying these fossil fuel dividends.
Of course fewer farmers easily feed the extra billions while a much higher percentage live in urban areas all around the world.
AGAIN there is no climate emergency, or crisis or stupid Biden’s EXISTENTIAL THREAT. In fact the reverse is true.
Anyone can easily check the data for themselves and be thankful for our very BENIGN climate.
And deaths from extreme weather events have fallen by 95%+ over the last 100 years.

But why can’t the average bloke or sheila look up the data for themselves?

Because the dumbing-down of the “education” (sic) system has been too extreme for too long and the Left and their Klimate Kult have infiltrated into all institutions, political, corporations, legal, “scientific”, medical, everywhere.

It’s what happens when conservatives and fellow rational thinkers remain silent and allow the Left to make the next incremental change toward their goals. No matter how minor such changes may appear, they are relentless and ruthless and like “The Terminator”, “absolutely will not stop, ever…”.

‘The climate is changing more rapidly than anticipated, making it the greatest existential threat of our time. Evidence suggests that climate change can be a source of poor mental health among young people. A variety of mental health issues, including anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), are related to the anticipation and consequences of climate change-related events.’ (The Lancet)

If you do a Gulag search for “carbon neutral hair salon” without quote marks you get quite a few links to woke salons, so I suppose you won’t find any shortage of readily-indoctrinatable staff or customers.

Now, I hate saying “carbon” when what is meant is “carbon dioxide” but that’s all the ignorant Left understand and that’s how they describe CO2. Frankly, I’m not even sure they could write the chemical symbol or formula for either of these substances, not could they describe their properties, they just “know” they’re “bad”.

I don’t think that most of the proprietors of businesses who promote themselves as being ‘carbon neutral’, ‘sustainable’, ‘ethical’, etc., understand anything with regard to climatic physics or science in general. They only use these terms because they think it will benefit their business and therefore their bottom line. They are just as ignorant as the potential woke customers they might attract.

I was listening to Jordan Petersen and Bjorn Llomberg accepting carbon dioxide accumulation in the atmosphere and consequential ‘climate change’. Very sensible discussion as usual. No alarmism. But a psychologist and an economist do not know any physical science.

However it reminds me as ever of the lie of carbon dioxide accumulation. There is no such thing. It would mean breaking Henry’s Law of dissolved gases, a 200 year old fact of life.

Start with how fish breathe and where they get their oxygen and start to admit that CO2 and H2O and O2 enter and leave the water in enormous volumes continually. Our contribution to CO2 is like our output of H2O from combustion, of no consequence at all. There are vast amounts already.

The ratio of gases CO2, H2O and O2 in the atmosphere and the water is determined by Henry’s Law. The hotter the water surface, the more evaporation you get. Of CO2, H2O and O2. And when you consider that 98% of all highly soluble and compressible CO2 is already in the water, it makes sense that even a tiny increase in water surface temperature since 1750 would increase CO2. Or the end of the little ice age in 1870.

The concept of CO2 accumulation and so Nett Zero is science nonsense. Whether it causes heating is a moot point. As is whether heating is a bad thing. What is certain though from NASA and the CSIRO is that the CO2 increase has greened the planet, as much new Green area as the entire of Australia or Brazil since 1988.

So burn all the fossil fuels you like. It all just goes into the ocean, very quickly. As we saw after the NSW bushfires. With a half life of a tiny 5 years for half of ALL CO2 to go into and out of the oceans, accumulation of CO2 is not possible. The IPCC insist without evidence that it is 80 years.

As for hair dressers. These days they would not know a single Henry. The ultimate Hair Heads. Including the Climate Council.

And another quiet science fallacy is that all H2O, an admitted much stronger Greenhouse gas than CO2, is not in the air unless you can see clouds. Clouds are liquid water, droplets. They can block all light.

Most water vapour is a gas, invisible, like CO2.

At present in Melbourne we have a relative humidity of 79% at 17C. That’s about 1% H2O as a gas in the air where CO2 is only 0.04%. So H2O is 25x the concentration of CO2. And the relative effect of CO2 is tiny, irrelevant.

And it is amazing how high humidity can be although it is invisible. You can feel it as sweating does not evaporate and for some reason breathing becomes harder, the rapid exchange of O2 and CO2. And a real greenhouse gas means warmer nights, not hotter days if you are near water. Humidity is quite high across most of Australia and of course all the oceans.

Hairdressers of the world: rise up and lead humanity away from its environmentally destructive path!

Such a call to action may not be as far fetched as it sounds. Aside from therapists, hairdressers arguably get more personal with their customers than any other professional – and therefore may be able to influence their behaviour.

In fact, billions of people regularly get haircuts and, in the process, come into contact with key environmental issues, ranging from water and energy use to toxic chemicals.

One of these plus a Ziverdo kit or equivalent should have been given to anyone presenting a +ve COVID PCR/RAT test to a pharmacy. To prevent fraud a record of that PCR/RAT then kept at the pharmacy, then destroyed or only used once. Or some such similar method. That simple measure could probably have averted the whole COVID panic thing way back in 2020. (sorry Jo, a little OT)

Meanwhile over at Their ABC, the normally highly aggitated by CO2 emissions interviewer spent an hour gushing over a woman who flies about the world to make wedding cakes, after talking with the couple she then flits about getting special ingredients from their lives before meeting.

As it was a long drive home I eagerly waited for him to drop the bombshell about how irresponsible it was to generate that much carbon to make something as inane as a bloody wedding cake, but alas it never came.

      🙂
      I heard that too.
The depth of “feelings” explored was beautiful but it was absolutely terrifying to hear that she had pricked her fingers on some Scottish thistles, or something, and been stung “multiple times” by Scottish bees.

Maybe I shouldn’t drive so much, that ABCCC is so “integrated”.

When a female hairdresser fronts up to cut my hair, I talk about sex. That soon dominates the conversation, or kills it all for the duration. (Sometimes attracts a price discount.)
When there is a male hairdresser, I talk about sex. In the rare cases when that topic redirects, it heads to cars or sport.
When there is a hairdresser of no easily defined gender, I talk about sex. That usually removes the need for me to talk any longer.
