Let’s assume 5,000 people have met an elected representative from their town, district, whatever. These folks go around drinking beer, shaking hands, flipping pancakes, and kissing babies — and asking for money and votes.
Say, the poor sot gets Covid and dies. 5,000 people can say they knew the deceased. Big deal.

Ok, so let’s play that out. The survey says 50% know someone who died from the vaccine. There’s 340,000,000 people in America. So, 170,000,000 know someone who died from the vaccine. Now let’s use your scoffing argument that it might be the same death for every 5000 people. So that’s ONLY 34,000 people killed by the vaccine.
That’s about 70% more than the total gun deaths in the USA last year. Yet every day the leftist media is calling for guns to be banned. Covid vaccines … not so much.

Ok.. before the Australian summer bushfire climate change hysteria begins.
A lesson for all.
Fire science 101.. Subject: Lightning causing bushfires.. How the statistics are distorted. (In laymans terms)
OK understand all… Smoke is a great conductor.
A bush fire will cause smoke . If that smoke is thick enough, high enough and weather conditions allow, you can/may then get lightning strikes to ground. These strikes can occur at a significant distance, usually further away downstream from the initial bush fire. Up to 20 -30 Kilometers
Multiple fires spawned from the initial bushfire can/or may then occur.. So now we may have 5 separate bush fires.
The cause, we may determine, is “Ignition via lightning due to smoke via initial incident” .
Ok, this is where the fire data re lightning, can be distorted by someone. Either by ignorance, stupidity, malevolance or agenda.
They will read our fire reports and record 5 fires caused by lightning. They will discount the conditions caused by the initial fire and the subsequent conductor.
They cannot correlate or understand that it is all part of the same initial incident.
They usually call themselves an “Expert”. In my professional opinion they are nothing of the sort.
Often the “data” that they report is distorted. Sadly, It seems, that this is endemic in what happens in science today.
How do I know this?… I am actually one of those that investigates and compiles/submits the fire reports.

Yes, used to be well recognised. Equally heavy smoke can also cause high tension power lines to arc, thus thousands of new kilometres of these lines will potentially add to destroying the environment while saving the planet.
While on the topic of fires, just recieved a letter from my council telling me that all boundaries must have at least a 10 metre firebreak to prevent or slow the spread of any ignition. The letter goes to some pain to point out that “only grass must be slashed and any plants, trees etc cannot be touched”.
Now our place has always been well maintained and we have always put in our own “breaks”. On the other hand the roadside verges are covered in scrub, blackberries, other assorted weeds and combustibles. i.e the most likely place for a fire to start. If a fire does get into these verges any 10 metre break will have the same effect as p–sing into the wind.

The bad news for the EV industry keeps on coming. The Hertz revelations are particularly damaging I think, especially the implications for current owners’ resale values, but fires and charging problems run close behind. Tesla is clearly suffering (20% price reductions) and I expect this is just the beginning.
While I watch this unfold, bucket of popcorn in my arms, I wonder how China will react should the EV market truly hit the skids. They are the biggest player, in so many ways, meaning that such an occurrence would be very painful for them.
Any supportive measure undertaken by governments henceforth, such as more subsidies, grants or purchase assistance should therefore be seen as support for China, and questions asked.
