Amazing from Trump. Hard bargains.
The Iran conflict has shown that the EU under Von Der Leyen is untrustworthy, tricksy, too clever by half, adding sunrise and sunset clauses to the Scottish Turnberry Golf Course handshake agreement between Trump and Von der Leyen of last year. (Trump owns the course, same name as his Palm Beach course)
It’s a battle between the ‘rules based order’ of international lawyers and the huge trading blocks of the US and EU. And above it all is the total unwillingness of the EU member countries to help in any way with the extermination of the IRGC, the group behind mass murder world wide for the last 50 years and extortion in the Straits of Hormuz and the IRGC battle for nuclear weapons and ICBMs to destroy both Israel and the US.
At the same time the US is questioning their massive financial and military support in the battle of the EU vs Russia while Zelensky routinely avoids another election. The mass importation of Islamic workers into the EU has utterly compromised democratic EU member states politically, as expected. And Australia. There will be a cost.
It all makes Climate Change seem quite trivial and irrelevant. Especially as Trump has always said correctly that man made CO2 driven Climate Change is a hoax currently run by China and the EU. The fact that rapid Climate Change was invented by Al Gore, the EU/UN and the WMO(World Meterological Organization) nearly 40 years ago is self evident. The idea that the IPCC/UN are now promising both instant runaway Global Warming and an immediate Ice Age makes it farcical. And above the nuclear weapons hangs the threat of Military viruses, so devastating, so recent and so quickly forgotten.
In this new world, you are on America’s side. Or you are not. Either way, there is a cost. Australia under Albo Akbar and Ping Pong is playing it both ways. Like the EU.
812
The EU is committed to self-destruction with its open borders and population replacement with people who are mostly uneducated, violent, misogynisic, anti-Christian and antisemitic and who will be likely life-long welfare recipients and who are hostile to European and Western values.
What is there worth saving as Europe doesnt want to save itself? At least most Europeans don’t want to be saved, with some notable exceptions of people who want to prevent the destruction such as persecuted and prosecuted people like Geert Wilders and Tommy Robinson.
There is something worth saving though. As I’ve said before, the Saracen replacements don’t accept most artworks or other cultural or religious heritage so moveable treasures from museums, art galleries and libraries should be packed up and sent to the last bastion of Western Civilisation, the United States.
Once the takeover is complete nothing will be safe, neither has it been in the past. A few of nunerous examples:
Etc. Etc. Etc.
At least moveable European cultural heritage should be saved and transferred to the United States.
391
” In this new world, you are on America’s side. Or you are not. Either way, there is a cost. Australia under Albo Akbar and Ping Pong is playing it both ways. Like the EU. ”
The thing about playing it both ways is that you cannot win and get hated by BOTH sides.
390
And it comes down to trust, why would allied nations trust Australia with Albanese Labor Government in office when Australia is deliberately working against our most powerful and influential allies United States of America, and ignoring treaties/agreements and example ANZUS Treaty signed after World War 2.0 and the time after War In The Pacific won with US forces and capabilities with US General Macarthur leading combined forces with Headquarters in Melbourne, also after WW2 forming Five Eyes Intelligence Alliance of US UK Canada NZ and Australia from US HQ intelligence personnel group of combined forces intelligence corps?
160
Also, there’s good reason that TRUMP didn’t inform Australia or the European “allies” of his Iran battle plans.
They would have informed the Iranians even before the phone call was finished.
Aa it was TRUMP used Tucker Qatarlson as a useful idiot by telling Tucker he had no intention to attack Iran, knowing full well that Tucker would convey that message.
340
” why would allied nations trust Australia with Albanese Labor Government in office when Australia is deliberately working against our most powerful and influential allies United States of America, and ignoring treaties/agreements ”
Probably because those nations have also realised that the Post-WW2 ‘time of peace and plenty’ was reliant on America bullying the rest of the world into trading oil in US$ so they had a free ride. This is now under widespread threat as the non-aligned world has matured and grown, and the end of the evil empire is in sight.
The fact that we exploited the rest of the under-developed world to have a great lifestyle doesn’t make it right, its just an example of the powerful always devour the weak. How much chance did East Timor have in standing up to Australia?
Perhaps the Euros have realised that Russia has no reason to invade and take over a lot of broken, poor ex-first world countries full of dangerous migrants, and the whole fear of Russia was an American/UK piece of propaganda. Its not Russia that has over 50,000 troops in Euro countries to make sure they do what they’re told, its the country that wants to control the whole world’s oil supply and as long as Russia has oil and a Govt that refuses to take a knee, they will be a target.
We can remain an American vassal and go down with their Empire, or we can become our own master and make our way in the world.
638
How much chance did Timor Leste have of standing up to Indonesia without Australia (and the US in the background)?
What about Irian Jaya? Do they have ‘democracy’?
140
Oohh! Count the redthumbs.
Normalcy bias and congnitive dissonance are ramping up post SOH shutdown.
Fact: the USA is in decline, just like every empire throughout history. The glory days are over.
That’s cycles for you!
Trump (and for the record, I hoped he’d fix things too, but it’s now 100% crystal clear he won’t) is now bucking for the 25th.
No more wars? Drain the swamp? Turn the US around and make it a global powerhouse again (start by attacking Venezuela, Iran, Cuba, Greenland, meh – do Canada too! 😁).
Drill baby drill?
Why not just invade and steal? It’s easier. 😎
Here’s a little graph from analyst Chris Martenson:
https://imgbox.com/Xyfe8CIm
Nope, no doubling production.
And another:
https://imgbox.com/mjgKmKUH
Nope, sorry. Trump’s flamboyance with oil is just an illusion.
Anyone seen the fuel price hikes in the US?
Up to a dollar per gallon in a WEEK.
Doesn’t suggest abundance of cheap oil to me.
Here’s the reality:
The US doesn’t really give a rat’s about Iran (or other countries as above).
It’s all about trying to be top dog and run the show (global economy) as they have done post petro-dollar.
A multi-polar economy and world are inevitable and the US is entering its sunset phase, whether you like it or not.
None of the US’s objectives have been achieved, and Iran has powerful allies and alternatives.
The US is no longer in control – it’s just watching the inevitable unfold as every action the US takes foments and consolidates the formation of a post-US future.
Don’t forget that all these tankers are shipping pre war oil too…
You may now redthumb, and wake up in a few months time no doubt.
414
Back up your thesis. Invest in Iranian currency, and see where it gets you.
61
The thesis, as I read it, was about the decline of the US empire. Iran’s currency doesn’t have much to do with it. They are just today’s target, it will be somone else by year end.
31
The Marshall Plan alone proves you wrong.
00
‘ … you cannot win and get hated by BOTH sides.’
Not really, in this particular holy war Australia won’t get involved militarily and neither will the EU. New alliances are being formed as we speak.
‘The European Union (EU) is the world’s largest trading bloc, operating a single market with roughly 450 million consumers and a GDP exceeding US$21 trillion. It facilitates free trade among its 27 member states and acts as a top trading partner for over 60 countries, holding a ~16% share of global trade.’
215
Do you realise that the originally named European Economic Union did not anticipate United Kingdom becoming a member, the EEU now EU is like our Commonwealth of Australia Government with Federation of States but EU Government not elected by the people of the EEU/EU sovereign nations that could also be loosely described as like the Commonwealth of Nations previously British Commonwealth.
The EEU/EU has always been very closely aligned with the United Nations and what President Trump has described as interfering in the affairs of member countries and not elected by sovereign nation’s voters. UN with octopus tentacles joining many organisations almost like government departments. In other words a “world parliament” as described by former Greens Leader Bob Brown during his last address to the National Press Club as leader. He also said that his “dream” included no international borders, nw consider the system of EEU/EU and border control so open to illegal immigrants and UNHCR encouraging resettlement of those “asylum seekers”.
Yes the EU is a major trading group of sovereign nations under the EU Government that recently signed a Free Trade Agreement with the Albanese Labor Government here, including terms and conditions such as EU Government having a say in land use in Australia, that net zero emissions UNIPCC agenda is adhered to by Australia, and so on.
The rounding up of sovereign nations tied by agreements of many kinds and other ties like UN Agenda 21 Sustainability is following the 1800s Fabian Marxist Society of UK, one of their sayings is “The Inevitability Of Gradualness”. It might not happen quickly but it will happen eventually.
90
Australia has fallen into the global warming trap which the IPCC has forced upon us and not China, this is unfortunate but I won’t lose any sleep over it.
Its our responsibility to prove CO2 doesn’t cause climate change, then the madness will end.
Australia is an immigrant nation and many of these new arrivals despise the communist regimes, so I’m confident the political tide will shift back to the centre right.
The main reason the Coaltion performed so poorly at the last election was because of Trump’s victory.
012
100%
Does anyone think that constitutes a “free” trade agreement?
70
Its a trading block and for the time being Australia needs to remain focussed on that. At the next election the Coalition could run on a platform to get rid of UNIPCC interference in Australia’s energy and land management.
With the US throwing tariffs around the EU looks like a safe haven for free trade.
05
The E.U. is the sinking Titanic..Australia to follow ..the race to the bottom.
50
The EU is growing, moving east, do try and keep up.
02
Time to end the Federation.
30
The Russian Federation?
02
However, it may be in strife after its immigration of people of dubious intent.
30
‘ … while Zelensky routinely avoids another election.’
You know its against their Constitution to hold elections during war time.
‘ … our own master and make our way in the world.’
Great, the end of the Alliance, including AUKUS.
36
You know it’s against their Constitution for Zelensky to still be President as well?
Constitutionally, the office and powers of the President now belong to the Speaker of the Verkovna Rada (their Parliament), hence why Russia refuses to negotiate with Zelensky, nothing he says or does has any legality.
But by Imperial Fiat (of the Empire of USA and its EU vassals) Zelensky remains in office.
61
Its a technicality, the parliament and people support him and elections will be held when hostilities end. Even a three month ceasefire will suffice.
Word on the ground, Zelensky has been promised a plum job in Brussels to bring Ukraine into the EU. There is a lot to be done, corruption has been a major problem in Ukraine for more than half a century.
04
Many say that the Russia-Ukraine war started because too many countries to the west of Ukraine were pressuring it to join the EU. Russia did not want that antagonistic group spreading ever closer to it, especially when large numbers in the middle spoke Russian. Sounds feasible. What other options did Russia have?
Geoff S
30
The free enterprise model was working fine until Putin went mad with imperial ambition.
I know the CIA was meddling in eastern Europe because Russia was doing the same, but the full scale invasion was over the top. Putin is a fascist who hates democratic values and Ukrainians are not Nazis, honestly its just propaganda.
02
SO well said, TdeF. World history has played out in unexpected ways. While the duplicity of the UN, EU and their fellow travellers has been predictable, events have thrown up an unlikely saviour in Donald Trump. I have finally decided to read his book “The Art of the Deal” which I originally bought for my grandson, who is a budding salesman. Although it only records his life and career until 1987, it fundamentally explains this amazing individual. He is a much maligned and caricatured world figure, but the reality is something else. We are indeed lucky that he has attained the world stage at this time in world history.
In spite of its seeming suicidal inclinations, the West may just survive if Trump and the immense power and the US prevails.
270
The Group behind murder and mayhem globally for the last 50 years has been the US and their Zionist masters. It’s the Zionists that have been attacking their neighbours and genociding the indigenous people of Palestine. It’s the US who murders and assassinates people all over the world through constant illegal wars.

Nasty newly recognised disease from Sydney (Australia) area caused by mammalian meat allergy induced by the Eastern Paralysis tick.
I imagine “climate change” will be blamed.
https://www.theage.com.au/national/jeremy-16-died-from-a-tick-induced-meat-allergy-sydney-s-north-is-a-global-hotspot-for-the-disease-20260428-p5zrkj.html

Pay walled by The Age. After 42.5 years subscribing, no way am I again subsidizing ‘Pravda on the Yarra’.

I also cancelled my subscription after several comments below articles were omitted. None of those comments breached their criteria- they simply didn’t fit the tone of the echo chamber the masthead wanted to maintain. The article is linked below…

Sorta paywalled. Just clear your cookies and do it.
“In February the NSW Deputy Coroner agreed, and concluded that Jeremy’s cause of death was not asthma but anaphylaxis due to Mammalian Meat Allergy, which is caused by ticks and triggers a reaction to red meat, pork or any other product from a mammal.
Sydney’s northern beaches and the Central Coast have become global hotspots for the disease, which Australia’s national science agency, the CSIRO, warns is on the rise and a “significant health concern”.
The link between Mammalian Meat Allergy and the Eastern Paralysis tick was discovered by immunologist and allergy physician Professor Sheryl Van Nunen in 2007, after dozens of patients on the northern beaches began presenting with life-threatening allergic reactions in the middle of the night.
Using the contents from their last meal, she did a skin test and found a reaction to mammalian meat or a derived product. She also discovered her patients had something else in common – bites from the Eastern Paralysis tick.”
Blah blah… blame meat and dairy.
Eat bugs you planet destroyers!
50
I can’t read the article but I’ll guess it’s not really new.
https://www.cdc.gov/alpha-gal-syndrome/about/index.html
It has come up (possibly on here and sites like WUWT) in relation to the climate debate, because certain fruitcake types have suggested spreading the ticks in order to encourage/force a reduction in meat consumption.
170
Thanks Grim. Yes, that’s the disease. Alpha-gal syndrome.
So we now have it in Australia, at least it has been recognised.
131
There is also a crossover between AGS and Lyme disease. (Borrelia) My DIL had Lyme maybe originating from a tick bite in the UK. She also suspects she has AGS and has to be careful not to eat red meat. AGS creates an allergic reaction, so possibly can be treated with anti-histamines etc. But in Australia the medical authorities wont even recognise Lyme and therefore wont treat it properly. My DIL ( & Son ) had to go to Germany for effective treatment. She appears to have been cured from Lyme, but still has this AGS problem.
30
Best immediate treatment is an epipen jab. Anti-histamines can help a little, but you get a huge cascading effect, hence an epipen is much better in severe cases.
30
Sorry, I didn’t realise it was paywalled. Someone sent it to me as a “complimentary article”.
51
Try John’s fix above. It works!
50
Well maybe his meat allergy was caused by ticks, or maybe it was caused by something else.
From Google AI.
301
I think it was a couple of years ago that a bunch of self righteous climate morons were suggesting that the ticks should be deliberately used to turn people vegetarian to save the planet. There are plenty of references to this.
In the meantime “Wind energy is toxic, hazardous to human health, scientific review shows.” https://notrickszone.com. The other aspect of this is that there is some evidence that cancer may be a mitochondrial disease. https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC4493566/ The theory is that damage to the mitochondria causes the cell to switch from respiration to fermentation for energy, triggering tumorigenesis. The genetic mutation is a consequence of this rather than the cause. So, a bit more research and the headline “Wind turbines cause cancer” could be for real.
140
“The theory is that damage to the mitochondria causes the cell to switch from respiration to fermentation for energy, triggering tumorigenesis. ”
An interesting paper, and a side-quest led to an advertisement for an American DNA company that will examine your mitochondrial DNA for half a dozen ageing genes and then tell you which supplements you need.
There’s an awful lot we don’t understand about how cells work, or don’t work! The whole idea of mitochondria setting themselves up as intracellular parasites is weird, and it seems they exert a lot of control over the whole cell. I can certainly feel the decline in mitochondrial numbers from age as cellular energy drops!
30
Actually, this is a fair dinkum syndrome. Many years ago we had a beach house on the NSW Sth Coast, which is notorious for coastal ticks. Quite a few dogs died in the area from tick bites. I recall a neighbour developed this syndrome from a bite. Couldn’t eat meat without a sustained and threatening reaction.
60
Here is a quite decent German/Polish sci-fi movie made in 1960.
“The First Spaceship on Venus“.
It is set in the “future”, 1985.
It’s special effects and scenes are above average for the time.
I think it has an element of 2001: A Space Odyssey. An alien artefact is discovered on earth and an expedition is mounted to investigate its origins.

Ha ! It is actually Astronauts by Stanislaw Lem – one of the first SF books published in USSR. Not sure if the movie itself was shown there.
I vaguely remember it was not exceptional quality writing, of course I only read the translated version, and I can not explain it but I read at the same time Dandelion Wine and instantly fall in love with Ray Bradbury…
60
I think Stanislaw Lem was an excellent science fiction writer, though I’ve only read English translations.
I think I discovered him via some sci-fi short story collections.
Ray Bradbury short stories are under-rated, or at least not discussed like they should be. I was captivated, probably more so than his famous works.
10
DM – have you seen Quatermass and the pit?
The film that is. There’s also an earlier colourised (sepia 🙄) 6 part tv series on archive.org
10
Yes. I have it on DVD or Blu-ray.

It’s sad how so many people are addicted to gambling, which in Australia is mostly promoted or at least benefited by Governments (who at the same time pretend to discourage it through advertising).
It seems to be primarily aimed at poor people, at least state-sponsored gambling like the various scratch tickets.
The Government earns money from scratch tickets and casino and other gambling via lotteries taxes, licence fees and tax revenue.
If only people understood probability theory.
211
I’ll bet you’re wrong! 😁

Observing liberal reactions to the US SCOTUS decision ending race based gerrymandering, and then being out shopping this morning and observing folk … particularly surgical mask wearing, I realized something …
for the liberal left Racism and Pandemic are forever.
They live from moral panic to moral panic.
I’m thinking Climate Warming/Change is the origin of this new and probably dangerous culture construct.
This is my main interest in the subject.
Climate ‘science’ comes across to me as mostly daft.
Climate Change mania drove the academic and political leadership of the Western World daft.
I see minimal signs of de-dafting.
Only the threat to the Moral Panic Industry.
Which has caused the destruction of most other industry.
I don’t think this ends well.
250
“de-dafting”
One at a time , and slowly.
As always.
100
Time marches on.
In the 1970s it was chic talk to mouth “Reality is for people who cannot face drugs.”
Look at the devastation that drugs are causing now. Nothing chic about an early death in a gutter.
Geoff S
00
The delisting of daft draftees should be done directly.
30
Honk,
That is a valuable observation with which I agree.
Why do people (apart from robbers) continue to wear masks? I used to think a lot of Asians did, because it was a cultural thing. Now I lean to the theory that such people got this cultural longing because of premeditated pressure from above similar to what we went through with Covid. More support for the Covid lockdowns and masks and distancing being test runs by evil people who wish to dominate others on a grand scale.
How many Aussies still believe that the near-compulsory Covid vaccination was a valid, gracious, ethical medical response to head off what appeared to be a coming catastrophic pandemic? As opposed to those who now regard it as weird folk with a domination complex playing carelessly with the lives of multiple innocents?
This is pretty serious stuff. I fear the next pandemic, especially the likely inflation of fearful medical outcome talk.
It is one way to make a big quid quickly, but I could never do it because I have a conscience to live with. Geoff S

This is apparently true. Copied from Farcebook.

Good news for those who understand science and use logic to find solutions, there is now an alternative to COP, a global organisation called transition away
.
.
[
Description added – Raquel]
128
Peter
Is that ‘transition away’ linked to #6 above.
Sci Fi?
I need to clear this up before I click on what will from experience be a less than interesting link.
131
Yes, I agree. it will be a great opportunity to study Bonhoeffer’s theory of stupidity and Orwell’s group think all in one place. It will be the perfect opportunity to use science and logic to figure out why otherwise reasonably intelligent people get swept up in propaganda and unfounded hysteria. There will be no better place to observe and study cognitive and confirmation bias in action, particularly in a forum where rational enquiry will not be allowed.
210
Productive reconversion without creating new forms of extractivism.
What?
No intersectionality?
90
Transitioning away from fossil fuels is like transitioning from man to woman or versa vice.
Predictable that the two share fan base.
And a foundation in unreality.
200
Reality is the alternative to COP.
100
I have an article due out tomorrow on an aspect of this. They are developing a draft treaty that commits any country that ratifies it to phase out fossil fuels on a set schedule, or something like that. As a treaty it would be enforceable law.
The existing UN Climate Program is grounded in the 34 year old FCCC treaty. This new treaty could destabilize the UN Program but it is also seriously dangerous.
130
Can we have a reference to your article, David?
40
Sure. I will post a link for discussion. Thanks for asking.
50
Apparently 60 nations are attending the conference. Of course Australia is there doing its best to reduce reliance on fossil fuels while madly flying around Asia buying more. The dumbest government anywhere, anytime, are just beginning to realise that fossil fuels got us to where we are and more fossil fuels will be needed in the years ahead.

‘Participation by those ready to move forward, recognizing this as a space focused on action rather than persuasion.’
We could give up our cars if we lived in 15 minute villages, which might take a little while to organise.

Disturbing video of interviews with young American Leftists who approve of political violence.
https://x.com/i/status/2050985765631676441
90
What leftists don’t approve of violence? It is why they don’t like elections either. Even though they pretend like China and Russia and every Fascist, Communist state.
But Ukraine is afraid to have open elections, because the war might end suddenly and questions would be asked. Like where is the cash? And, as always, war is very, very profitable for the people in charge to achieve nothing at all except mass deaths on both sides while claiming it’s worth fighting and they are supporting their brave soldiers. I wonder how many billions have gone missing in Ukraine now?
311
Now you are just making stuff up and everyone applauds, a classic comedy routine.
313
What part is funny?
40
The irony burns.
02
The Ukrainian constitution decrees that elections are banned during wars. Are you suggesting that the President is keeping the war going so that he stays in power? Interesting concept, I suppose.
80
“The Ukrainian constitution decrees that elections are banned during wars.
Hang on, wasn’t that constitutional amendment passed by the current non-President only a few years ago, within the current war?
“Are you suggesting that the President is keeping the war going so that he stays in power?”
Its obvious he is not trying to leave power, nor is he in a hurry to end the war!
81
‘Its obvious he is not trying to leave power, nor is he in a hurry to end the war!’
** chuckle **
14
For KP & El Gordo!,,,
SO YOU BRIGHT SPARKS ,let’s hear your profound solutions to the Russo/ Ukrainian conflict.
Yeah ! Thought so!!! More armchair warriors!!
31
‘ … your profound solutions to the Russo/ Ukrainian conflict.’
Sir … sir … only a military defeat of Russia will bring peace.
02
According to google AI the laws relating to not holding elections during periods of Martial Law were in place before the commencement of this war.
Relating to Martial Law was in 2015, and the election code 2019.
Martial Law has been in place Feb 2022 and is being extended every 90 days.
20
According to the Guardian, article 19 prohibits elections in a time of war?
Except Article 19 in the 1996 constitution does no such thing..
Article 19
The legal order in Ukraine is based on the principles whereby no one shall be forced to do what is not envisaged by legislation.
Bodies of state power and bodies of local self-government and their officials are obliged to act only on the grounds, within the limits of authority, and in the manner
envisaged by the Constitution and the laws of Ukraine.
There is no mention of war. In fact the whole article is nearly meaningless. Unless you opportunically read that the Constition did not explicitly mention a time of war and
so you can do nothing?
So is this misinformation or disinformation or just a lie from the Guardian?
50
However there is a very worrying article which says that in a time of war, all political parties (other than the one in power) are banned. So you have a defacto dictatorship. Just like Hitler.
40
There is only one article about war.
“Article 37
The establishment and activity of political parties and public associations are
prohibited if their programme goals or actions are aimed at the liquidation of the
independence of Ukraine, the change of the constitutional order by violent means,
the violation of the sovereignty and territorial indivisibility of the State, the
undermining of its security, the unlawful seizure of state power, the propaganda of
war and of violence, the incitement of inter-ethnic, racial, or religious enmity, and
the encroachments on human rights and freedoms and the health of the population.”
A rival political party which wanted to settle with Russia would be de facto illegal.
And Zelensky has used this to close Orthodox churches. “President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a law on August 24, 2024, banning religious organizations affiliated with the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC), primarily targeting the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC).”
You are looking at a Fascist state run as a dictatorship with no legal opposition.
70
Thankyou TdeF, ..and that was obviously written AFTER the Pro-West coup that overthrew the elected Govt in 2014.
‘Graham Richards”
“SO YOU BRIGHT SPARKS ,let’s hear your profound solutions to the Russo/ Ukrainian conflict.
Yeah ! Thought so!!! More armchair warriors!!”
Gosh! I looked at yours and thought, ‘no, that solution won’t work’.. So, once Ukraine decided to murder the people who wanted to be with Russia, because they were basically Russians, any civilised country would have had a referendum and let each area choose which country it wanted to be part of.
Obviously the parts that were previously Romania and Poland, the West, would become part of Europe, and the parts that were Russian-speaking, the East and South, would become part of Russia. If everyone kept their heads they would trade and live across the ‘border’ like North and South Vietnam, not like Korea!
However that wouldn’t suit the USA/UK axis, who saw the opportunity to embarrass and weaken Russia, and hopefully break it up by pushing it into a Vietnam style war.. and here we are.
Solutions to problems are easy Mr Richards, once you realise who has which incentives.

It is interesting to consider the strengths and capabilities of the Israel Defence Force as displayed many times and recently with the defence operation against Iran, and including Hezbollah in Lebanon sideshow. The national service for young Israelis compulsory for all who meet the medical fitness standards.
And compare of Australia Defence Force strengths and capabilities, noting the wealth of Australia including the abundance of minerals and energy left in the ground wealth potential including if realised retiring total gross debt and interest liability within maybe a decade or two? Consider retirement of Labor 1995/96 debt and interest liability achieved by Howard Coalition by June 2006.
I do not believe that our closest allied nations would stand aside if Australia was threatened with invasion, and US forces are already being rotated personnel and assets using ADF bases here. US and UK are top of the list of foreign investments here. And our allies would not want a common enemy to gain control of the minerals and energy natural resources assets here.
However, the point of allied nations combined forces is of course strength and capabilities contributions and should be to the best affordable and population based.
60
So what you’re saying is that we should declare war on America and then surrender, letting Trump kick-start a massive resource exploitation in all sorts of oil, coal, gas and mineral deposits, resulting in us becoming a cheap-energy prosperous nation run by a Right-wing foreign Govt…
Sounds good to me!

‘In the meantime, they continue to promote their hope for “de-escalation and an end to all conflict” in the naïve belief that if everyone just settles down and acts nicely to each other, then all will be well in the world.
‘If only it was that simple!’
It is that simple until insane autocrats go too far and upset the applecart. Trump and Putin are prime examples. By comparison Xi has no intention of starting hostilities with Taiwan now that Japan is rearming, but they will probably seize eastern Russia when the Kremlin collapses.
Also, an Australian company just sold three unmanned mini subs to the Americans and our aerial drones are state of the art.

Ian,
More Aussie involvement.
The oil in Saudi Arabia was first discovered when a fortune was spent by a guy named William D’Arcy who had a dream and money from investments in the gold-copper mine at Mt Morgan, west of Rockhampton, Queensland. It led to the birth of British Petroleum, now B.P.
More recently the new boss of B.P., leading it firmly away from renewables, is an Australian lady named Meg O’Neill of whom we genuine Aussies can justly be proud. This is about as high as a CEO can go these days in the private industry world. Geoff S

The bellows (controlled by the pedals) are usually fragile fabric which if torn or “holy” will generate no air pressure.
The sounds are generated by sets of metal “tuned reeds”, which if contaminated by dust/dirt/insect remains, will no longer generate a sound.
And the linkage between the “stops” and the sound bank controls may be in an “unflexible” state.

In the Oz:
Negative wholesale prices to sweat coal out of the grid: proposal
A proposal aimed at fixing a structural mismatch between inflexible coal generation and collapsing daytime demand will forcibly crash prices so coal is forced out of the system altogether in times of oversupply.
You cannot close down coal fired generators completely and then ramp them up when it gets dark. Who are the idiot policy makers advising this crap??
In my view all solar and wind should be forced to bid firm prices for wholly despatchable power. Its time to put the NEM back to where it should be.
190
Price for coal fired electricity has been increasing – last year $97/MWh compared with $23/MWh in 2003. The price of LGCs is down to $2.20/MWh. So there is no way grid wind and solar can tolerate negative pricing sufficient to drive out coal. In fact, the coal is driving out the grid wind and solar because it can tolerate high negative prices in the knowledge it will make it up when essential generation is needed. And the coal plants do not go any lower than 60% of capacity on average to maintain firing stability.
Right now, grid wind curtailing 2648MW and grid solar 393MW.
If the coal plants do shut down on any day, they will not be starting up the next day. So the grid will be at risk of collapse.
While the insanity continues, rooftop solar/battery are the only winner because they have captive demand. The grid is stuffed as an economic asset.
If the coal plants were given priority then wholesale electricity price would be back down to $30/MWh and heavy industry and manufacturing would be viable. Ice creams would cost a lot less.

We have a 10 year old 9kw solar system in our paddock at the farm, presently hooked up to the grid. We had decided to get a large battery installed before the subsidies go, and before future grid collapses eventuate.
However, the installer said that we needed a substantial rewiring (and trenching) to prevent loss of power during any eventual blackout. It seemed all a bit “iffy” to us. We have decided to install a new generator (replacing a old one) which will detect any loss of grid power and start up the alternate source of power. No rewiring or trenching is necessary. This system depends, of course, on ability to source petrol in an uncertain world. Hope we are choosing wisely.
We reckon the whole energy industry is shonky. For the last few years we have been in frequent communication with the Ombudsman over dubious energy bills from a “smart” meter which cant possibly record anything as there is no mobile communication in the paddocks!
120
A heavy transport truck driver told me that he learnt by accident that by putting his boot on a fencing wire trying to get mobile phone reception the signal was received, and after testing foot on foot off he realised the fence was the antenna.
I tried it several years ago when stuck on a back country road and needing NRMA assistance and it worked for me. I had an alloy wheel that I could not replace because the wheel nuts would not budge. Later after a lot of effort the NRMA guy removed and replaced all four wheel’s nuts and explained the recent tyre renewal fitter had not centred the wheel and tightened the nuts with the wheel off centre resulting in strain on the studs and nuts while driving. The tyre sales boss was not impressed when I explained my problem which he at first thought was a customer who does not understand the system used with air gun.
40
Yes, those damm guns.. Its all about speed and not quality, and there seems to be no control of torque, just done up far too tight.
You’d need to pick your fence though, or the voltage might not be right!

Noting that the State of New South Wales highest installed generator capacity coal fired power station, Eraring, was compensated by the Labor Government NSW to extend operating years from scheduled closure date, the repairs and maintenance complete and back to full generators capacity the owners have decided to extend the operating years for a longer period and advised shareholders that profitability has improved and therefore continued operation will be cost effective.

We at home in N-E Melbourne had a 15 minute blackout this morning. United Energy advised by email that it was happening, expected to be fixed in 5 hours. No mention of cause.
Interesting they used this default time if 5 hours. Are we to deduce that this is the expected time to do a black start when the collective renewables fail?
Any little blackout is a bummer in this electronic age. One old TV in the bedroom needs the home Wi-Fi modem to be turned off then on, plus another Fire Wire gadget in the incoming signal line to be reset. Each electric clock, four of, needs its particular routine. I guess it is forced training for that horrible imposition named daylight saving.

The belief that by voting One Nation will somehow influence Liberal and National parties to change to correct the often mistaken perceptions of critics is answered here;
Overview of Australian Preferential Voting
Australian preferential voting allows voters to rank candidates in order of preference. This system is designed to ensure that votes are not wasted, as even if a voter’s first choice does not win, their preferences can still influence the outcome.
How Preferences Work
Ranking Candidates
Voters must number every box on their ballot paper.
If a candidate does not receive over 50% of first preference votes, the candidate with the lowest votes is eliminated, and their preferences are distributed to the remaining candidates.
Impact on Labor Party
Preferences from minor parties and independents often flow more strongly to the Labor Party than to the Coalition.
This means that even if a voter’s first preference is for a minor party, their subsequent preferences can still support Labor, increasing Labor’s chances of winning.
Key Factors Favoring Labor
Factor Description
Preference Flow Minor party voters tend to prefer Labor over the Coalition.
Compulsory Voting All voters must rank candidates, ensuring that every vote counts.
Two-Party Preferred System The final count often focuses on Labor vs. Coalition, making preferences crucial.
Conclusion
The preferential voting system in Australia enhances the Labor Party’s chances by allowing voters to express their preferences fully. This system ensures that votes for minor parties can still contribute to a Labor victory, making it a significant factor in Australian elections.
24
Australia does not want any of the UN-party. A vote for LNP is a vote for more of the same UN-party nonsense.
Barnaby Joyce on the shambolic spending on Snowy 2 – that then energy minister Angus Taylor got going.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dk6C_Dz6gEg
Unless One Nation gets in and gets rid of all the UN Climate Change™ nonsense then it will be better to leave Labor at it because they will crash the economy faster.
Australia needs a party that stands up for sanity not UN policy.
151
Taylor should be replaced in the fullness of time by Hastie and I can see Barnaby on the front bench of the next government, if he plays his cards right.
To reach that point the preference system offers One Nation the best chance to get traction.
08
I’ve got not faith in Hastie as well. He appears to have been an informant in the BRS debacle. That is, he dobbed BRS in. I wouldn’t trust him as far as I could kick him.

13
Australian preferential voting can favor the Labor Party because it allows voters to rank candidates, and preferences from minor parties and independents often flow more strongly to Labor than to the Coalition. This system ensures that even if a voter’s first preference is not Labor, their later preferences can still contribute to a Labor victory.

What about the latest trick? In the last Vic state election there was a party registered with some candidates called .”Sack Dan Andrews”. Their preferences were actually directed to the ALP!!!! In the Vic upper house there is one drongo representing the Animal Justice Party who is just another ALP stooge, votes with them all the time and gives them the power to pass legislation. The whole preference voting system needs a revamp. Maybe, rather than completing the whole ballot with numbers the voter only lists 1 to 3, leaves the rest blank. Because the preference voting system actually forces you to vote for someone you hate. It’s not a full vote but only partial and can be used in tight results.
30
The system is OK, the voters – not so much.
50
The preferential voting system in Australia enhances the Labor Party’s chances by allowing voters to express their preferences fully.
Only if you vote by party instead of candidate. which I would hope that very few people would do for their “local” representative.
There is a minor party (if they run a candidate) which I will put ahead of candidates for ON and the currently elected member (who seems on the Liberal outer but whose office staff actually are quite helpful/useful) The other minor parties’ candidates will be listed ahead of Teals, Greens and Labor.
21
Possibly True, but what if there is no Labor candidate. Or you could say that the Independent is a defacto Labour candidate.
Lets look at the Nepean By-election on Saturday.
Primary Vote:
Lib 34%
ON 24%
Ind 21%
Green 9%
Green preferences flow to the Independent (who is supported by Climate 200), therefore a Green. Independent overtakes ON. Independenat now has 28%.
ON preferences should easlily elect the Lib candidate.
There is a game change happening now (I hope)

Re Snowy 2.0 Project, it is a Snowy Hydro Limited Commonwealth Government wholly owned company project, the government elected for each term is responsible for Snowy Hydro via Cabinet portfolios.
When a company board receives a request for capital expenditure approval the directors receive submissions from the senior executives responsible for management of company and any consultants and other advisers deemed to be needed to explain why the investment in new assets would be cost effective for shareholders, in this example taxpayers.
The board decision is then discussed and voted on, and of course the PM or Chairman accepts responsibility for the decision, but so do executives including any executive director.
Thereafter the contractors are responsible for the work and costs, and must submit invoices for progress payments against contractural terms and conditions.

It’s weird how leftists say that wars and conflicts can be avoided if only there was more understanding, if leaders and their opponents talked more, yet at the domestic level they don’t want to talk or debate with their political opponents at all. Instead they want to dox them, verbally abuse them, burn their cars, destroy their businesses, take away their livelihoods, get them cancelled, assault or even assassinate them.

“TO BOLDLY GO WHERE GEORGE C. SCOTT HAS GONE BEFORE: Flipper Around, Find Out: Iran Weaponizing Dolphins for a New Porpoise.
The United States Navy’s dolphin doctrine began in 1960, when a study was conducted on a Pacific White-Sided dolphin to see if its shape or features allowed for less drag in the water. And if so, could that be applied to torpedoes to make them faster and longer-range?
Two years later in Point Magu, California, dolphin radar was studied to see if they could be used to detect mines. A year later, the Marine Mammal Program was underway, training descendants of Flipper to help out our Navy in their own unique way. The program was classified, but was still in limited use even as late as 2003 in the Gulf War.
Animal rights activists naturally hated the program from the outset. You thought environmentalists were bad, just imagine the vapors the PETA people got at the concept of dolphins being sent into harm’s way as an expendable asset.
According to open source information, most of the alleged porpoise purposes were defensive in nature – mine detection. Three weeks into the President’s naval blockade of traffic in and out of Iranian ports, the regime is resorting to using Flipper to carry and deploy mines, not to identify and defuse them.”
