Typical retail theories. Buy this or that now Spend your money with us ( preferably all of it) and you’ll save money. Surprising how many folk believe it & spend money on rubbish believing they’re saving a fortune. I guess telling the folk , read mugs, there’s “ a new study “ is pretty powerful marketing!!

I wish Leftists/warmists knew some basic chemistry.
I’m sick of hearing about how this or that needs to be “decarbonised”.
Or when they talk about “carbon” emissions.
They don’t even know the chemical elements or compounds they are talking about.
Or the origins of nearly every product in modern society or even the clothing they wear or the items they use (e.g. Thunberg’s bizarre stunt sailing across the Atlantic in a carbon fibre yacht made from petrochemicals).
And the vast majority wouldn’t be able to tell you the amount of carbon dioxide there is in the atmosphere.
We have profoundly ignorant people, including politicians and the senior public serpents who tell them what to think, making engineering decisions.
No wonder Australia is in steep and rapid decline and well on the way to becoming a failed state unless this and all the other madness can be stopped.
Of course, the ignorance will become so much greater with Australia’s media censorship for under 16’s, denying access to important educational and discussion sources outside of the Official Indoctrination they receive at “school”.
And tragically, the average voting Australian just doesn’t have a clue and will keep voting for more of the same, until voting itself is no longer allowed…and the PM is referred to as Chairman or General.

The political class of the educated elite are no longer capable of rational problem solving.
As are the academics.
And they are driving the bus.
So it can’t end well.
The investment class are happy to take advantage and are just cashing in and probably out.

Using the same logic, I must use a towel for dehydrogenation every time I get out the bath.

Yes, not one person I have met in the dog park has any idea of the CO2 content. Whenever a discussion about the weather occurs I make it my personal challenge to determine the knowledge level of the dog folk.
Over 10 years I have never heard a correct response WRT CO2 levels. Always in the range of 5 to 25%.
One true believer dismissed my offer of 0.04% with “well it doesn’t matter what the content is……..it’s nonetheless increasing!”
220
Are referring to carbon entering the carbon cycle, which is a completely correct and scientific use of the word. Glad to assist your understanding.
217
You must be really smart. Because only the really smart can believe things which are truly idiotic.
Exhibit 1: your implicit claim to know what leftists/warmists are “referring to”.
Be a better bot!

25
Which carbon is not in the carbon cycle?
10
Glad you asked. Theoretically you can say it is all in the cycle but some is unlikely to move anywhere in any meaningful way. Meaningful means that it impacts the biosphere and that is the carbon scientists are interested in with regards to the cycle.
Fossil fuel carbon for instance was sitting in the ground for many millions of years. Over that time a small amount of it would have moved in the cycle due to processes at different times- erosion, ignition by lightning (invent your own scenario here) – but recently a very large amount of it has re-entered the faster cycling part of the cycle. Guess how?
16
‘Guess how?’
Warming oceans liberate CO2.

Please – explain “fossil fuel carbon”.

I’m actually fond of such silly talk. I just agree that they should decarbonize themselves and then let me know how it works out for them. It’s downright depressing how many take the bait.

Up until now that has been true, but there will be fireworks in 2026 when a united Coalition goes on a war footing.

Albanese and the Australian Government rewarded the October 7th terrorist atrocities in Israel by recognising a “Palestinian” state with no defined borders or capital or history of such a state ever having existed before.
Then they allowed endless unpermitted demonstrations by ignorant, weak-minded and often evil people, in support of this imaginary state, such as weekly demonstrations in Melbourne causing massive inconvenience and even business closures. Also the Government essentially turned a blind eye to the dramatically increased number of subsequent antisemitic verbal and physical attacks (ongoing).
And they imported with minimal or no security checks, people from Gaza, all future Labor voters, a vast majority of whom supported the October 7th atrocities.
Rewarding terrorism has consequences.
The Bondi pogrom was inevitable consequence of Government policy and such terrorist attacks against Jews and other Australians will continue as the government engineers a dramatic demographic change to Australia with a new imported Labor-voting population that fundamentally don’t accept Australian or Western values.

‘You should go and go now’: Ray Hadley calls for PM’s resignation after terror attack as Bondi vigil erupts in applause
Veteran radio broadcaster Ray Hadley has called for Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to resign while standing among grieving families at a vigil in Bondi following Sunday’s terror attack.
Speaking to Sky News host Sharri Markson, Mr Hadley said the Prime Minister had failed the Jewish community and should immediately step aside.
“And I’ll tell you something — the Prime Minister … he needs to get his hat and coat and get out of the lodge,” he said, drawing loud cheers from the crowd gathered at the vigil.
Mr Hadley described the federal government as “a disgrace” and accused senior ministers of moral failure in the face of rising antisemitism.
The government’s handling of Jillian Segal’s antisemitism report has drawn considerable criticism.
Despite the report being handed down in July, the Prime Minister and his government has not yet responded to the recommendations.
Sharri said the Albanese government had been “wilfully ignorant” to the growing threat of antisemitism.
“We were vulnerable, we were sitting ducks.
Our lives and our safety was not important enough for Albanese.
The Prime Minister should now resign over this terror attack,” Sharri said. “He should resign because he refused to act on an antisemitism crisis.
“This happened under his watch and as a direct result of both his inaction and his lack of moral leadership, he is culpable and now should pay with his job.”

It occurs to me that having people close to the murderers speaking out publicly and privately against the murders might be a powerful force in the right direction.
I don’t personally know such people but governments would do well to seek them out and would do well to articulate a coherent immigration plan.
The one I favour would have elements like including people who want to better themselves and by doing so better the nation. Those people are always welcome in my book.

Civilian hero Ahmed al-Ahmed’s injuries are “far more serious than have been reported”, his former migration lawyers says.
Mr Ahmed, a 44-year-old father of two, risked his life on Sunday evening by disarming one of the Bondi terrorists, before training the gun on him. His actions potentially saved dozens of lives and he has been hailed as a hero around the world.
Mr Ahmed then suffered several gunshot wounds to his shoulder and arm while hiding behind a tree and is currently being treated in St George Hospital in Sydney’s south.
“He’s having multiple surgeries, he’s got five gunshot wounds. It’s a serious injury – far more serious than has been reported,” his former migration lawyer Sam Issa, who visited him on Monday, says.
“At this stage, he says he has no feeling in his arm. I’m no medical doctor but he said to me that it seems like one of the bullets may have hit a nerve.”
Mr Issa says that as of Monday night, doctors still had not removed a bullet that had been lodged in the back of Mr Ahmed’s shoulder, an injury he described as “weird”.
“Given the fact that he was facing the shooter, how did he get a bullet in the back of his shoulder? It’s strange,” Mr Issa adds.
Mr Ahmed was granted citizenship in 2022 after moving to Australia from Syria in 2006.

WATCH | Bondi shooters’ relative emerges from raid home
A relative of the accused Bondi Beach shooters Sajid and Naveed Akram has emerged wearing a mask, hoodie and sunglasses, refusing to acknowledge the victims of Sunday’s terror attack in which at least 15 people were murdered.
The man, who is believed to be the man in the blue shirt who was removed from the property by police at gunpoint on Sunday evening, did not respond when asked whether he had anything to say to the families who had been impacted by the tragedy.
A short time later another Uber Eats delivery driver arrived at the home with half a leg of ham.
He did not respond to further questions as to whether he had any prior knowledge of the terrorist attack and what Sajid and Naveed said when they hired the Campsie AirBnB that they had been staying in prior to the attack. It has been reported that the pair told relatives they were on a fishing trip in Jervis bay.
Among the items delivered was cat food, smoked salmon, lasagne, bread, chips, milk and toilet paper.
A short time later a half leg of Christmas ham – worth $42.17 plus 25c for the paper bag – from Coles was delivered to the address.
“Just leave it in the doorstep, don’t knock,” the delivery description reads.
40
Ham? Isn’t that taboo?
30
No, M@slims cannot eat ham.
Ham is made from pork, and the consumption of pork and all its by-products is strictly forbidden in Isl@m.
This prohibition is explicitly stated in the Q@ran, including in Surah Al-Baqarah (2:173), Surah Al-Ma’idah (5:3), and Surah Al-An’am (6:145).
Since ham is derived from pigs, it is automatically considered haram (forbidden).
While there are halal-certified alternatives made from beef, chicken, or turkey that mimic the flavor and texture of ham, traditional ham is not permissible for M@slims to consume.
21
God bless Ahmed and heal him. He is the character of the type of person we wish to have as our neighbour here in Australia

A bullet in the back of a shoulder?
A serious rifle bullet would have severely torn up the shoulder and possibly even kept going.
A bullet from a handgun, especially a jacketed hollow-point, unless fired from less then about 25 metres away, would have “mushroomed” and mangled bone and muscle, but a LOT less than a “high-velocity” rifle bullet. It is all about dumping kinetic energy into tissue to achieve sufficient “attitude adjustment”. A “pellet” from a pattern of shot from a shotgun has a LOT less energy than either a rifle or pistol bullet , even at close range.
Some will have already worked out the possibilities.
Sadly, the average bunny learns all they “know” about ballistics from crappy movies and TV shows. One of these “legends” is that a person shot at close range with a shotgun will be picked up and hurled across the room. Only in Whoreliwood.
As Sir Isaac Newton explained, a weapon that can throw the victim that far would also throw the shooter back a similar distance.
Hooray for the “fantasy factory”. As each bit of deliberate disinformation is noticed, and logged, the entire chimera rapidly starts to fall apart.
And standby for the “presumption of innocence” to be fully replaced, at all levels, by the “Napoleonic Code”. None of this “limp-wristed” traditional law stuff. You will be declared guilty and expected to stuff-up any defence, because the “law” says so. the Napoleonic Code is the basis for the “justice meted out in much of Europe and was the core inspiration for the soviet “justice” system.

Should Israel issue a military response if Iran was behind the Bondi attack? – analysis
A senior US official told Fox News that if Iran ordered the Australia attack, Washington would fully support a direct Israeli counter-strike on Iranian territory.
After 15 J@ws were murdered in the terror attack at Bondi Beach, more voices are talking about potential direct IDF responses to terror attacks against Jews on foreign soil.
In July, former Prime Minister’s Office counter-terror official and INSS fellow Yoram Schweitzer called for considering such kinetic responses to terror attacks against J@ws and Israelis abroad.
On Sunday, a senior US official told Fox News that, if the Australia attack was ordered by Iran, Washington would fully support a direct Israeli counterstrike on Iranian territory.
Early reports have emphasized the two terrorists’ ISIS connections and not necessarily Iranian involvement, but the point could hold, with Israel taking the liberty to strike top ISIS officials hiding in Syria.
When Schweitzer called for direct military responses instead of covert, diplomatic, or legal responses to such terror, he could point to greater vulnerability on the part of the Isl@mic Republic in addition to the strategic reasons for such a shift.
10
The Logic of Israel retaliating for Iran ordering the Bondi attack (hypothetically) is flawed.
The people shot at might be Jews, but Israel is not responsible for Jews all around the world.
Jews in Australia don’t deserve being protested against or harassed because of matters in the middle east. But if Israel attacks anyone who attacks a Jew anywhere, then it justifies attacks on Jews anywhere for anything Israel does that someone doesn’t like.
Now, if Australia attacked Iran for Iran ordering an attack on Australian soil, that would have some logic.
Or at least employing Israel to deliver a note with an attack saying, “By order of the Australian Government”.
Have we sent their Ambassador home already after a previous Iran attack or planned attack? Maybe now is the time if true.
00
Pakistan and Iran have a pretty deep animosity for one another.
Iran seems an odd suggestion here.

Cue the post-turtle joke:
While stitching a cut on the hand of a 75-year-old farmer, whose hand was caught in the squeeze gate while working on cattle, the doctor struck up a conversation with the old man.
Eventually, the topic got around to politicians and their role as our leaders.
The old farmer said, “Well, as I see it, most politicians are “Post Turtles”.
Not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked him what “a post turtle” was.
The old man said, “When you’re driving down a country road and you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that’s a post turtle”.
The old farmer saw a puzzled look on the doctor’s face so he continued to explain.
“You know he didn’t get up there by himself, he doesn’t belong up there, he’s elevated above his ability to function, and you just wonder what kind of dumb idiot put him up there, to begin with!”.

Or pipes. The Bondi pair also tossed a couple of pipe bombs towards the Hanukkah celebration. Luckily, they didn’t explode. Nonetheless, all pipes should be banned or no-one should own more than 1 pipe. The usual knee jerk reaction towards gun ownership gets really annoying. There are so many other important factors that influenced this pair first, way before their use of long arm rifles with straight actions.

Nothing like treating law abiding gun owners as if they pulled the trigger at Bondi!
Rather than looking for scapegoats to blame for this massacre, it surely makes sense to look at the real cause like poor government vetting of “immigrants” and the acceptance by government of those that regularly call for the death of other groups both publicly and privately. These people are not compatible with what we have known as Australian and why the government allows them into Australia is beyond belief!

‘They’re coming for your guns’ and ‘Guns are evil and kill people’ sums up the SMH this morning..
Emergency recall of NSW Parliament to pass tougher gun laws, suggestions include limits so you can’t ‘stockpile’ six firearms, you must be an Australian citizen, the licence needs constant renewing (Aha! A bigger empire with yet more public servants), a change to the ‘genuine reasons’ allowed to be used to get a licence, and further limits on the type of guns allowed. More restrictions on importing guns, no doubt aimed at ‘straight-pull’ rifles and 3-D printing, neither of which have been said to have been used.
All a distraction, to ‘be seen to be doing something’, when it would have come to a very quick stop of the Jews had been armed anyway. Besides, there are still more illegal guns than there are legal firearms owners. The new laws won’t change any of that!

The last 24 hours have rammed home that all is NOT as “promised, or, allegedly “guaranteed”.
The psycho-babblers, other wankerdemics, churnalists, pollie-muppets etc are marching in lockstep in support of hammering the many hundreds of thousands of people who committed no atrocity on Sunday, and are unlikely to do so in the future. They are licking their chops in anticipation of micro-managing the property and actions of REAL PEOPLE. Once a Penal Colony, always a penal colony?
But it was so predictable. A certain “sector” of the population has been hooning around city streets, for YEARS, waving hot Glocke, possibly “lost” by a certain police force.
The Lindt Cafe” siege has been thoroughly “memory-holed”, particularly the bits about the “motivatio” of the miscreant and the “quality” of the operation to lift that siege.
A couple of pertinent quotes:
Firstly, from Ayn Rand’s “Atlas Shrugged”:
“Did you really think we want those laws observed?” said Dr. Ferris. “We want them to be broken. You’d better get it straight that it’s not a bunch of boy scouts you’re up against… We’re after power and we mean it… There’s no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren’t enough criminals one makes them.
One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What’s there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced or objectively interpreted – and you create a nation of law-breakers – and then you cash in on guilt. Now that’s the system, Mr. Reardon, that’s the game, and once you understand it, you’ll be much easier to deal with.”
Then from Martin Niemöller:
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist. (Not likely here in the socialist gulag)
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a trade unionist. (even less likely because the unions OWN the ALP).
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.
141

With all the talk of Israel v Palestine being The Reason, about the same number (under 10%) of Jews and Muslims were killed during 9/11 attack.

You’ll find it very interesting as he explains the rise of new diseases every time we introduced new wavelengths of EMF into society. There will be a copy to download on the web somewhere, it has some very compelling arguments, such as Marconi’s first radio transmitter on the Isle of Wight wiping out the bees. Also the trouble about Varroa mite, which bees have lived with for thousands of years, when putting a cellphone beside a beehive and activating it will destroy the hive.

I see news that the West Gate Tunnel project is now open, ten years and more than $10 billion in the making. In some of the news the Victorian Government seems to claim the project as one of theirs. Perhaps we should recall the history of the project.
Sometime before the 2014 State election the then Victorian Coalition Government signed a contract to build a freeway (I can’t recall where). Shortly before the 2014 state election the then Labor opposition, led by Daniel Andrews, announced that the contract wasn’t worth the paper is was written on and they would cancel the contract. After they won the election negotiations commenced for the cancellation. Cancellation resulted in a payment of about $1 billion to the contractor. Very soon after the cancellation was complete, the Andrews Labor Government announced that they had received an unsolicited proposal for the West Gate Tunnel Project to be built as part of the toll roads, and negotiations commenced. A contract was signed, which included the provision that tolls on existing toll roads would increase from contract signature.

It’s a poor imitation of the East West link by Labor. Or the LNP’s plan to join up 2 of the major freeways in Melbourne, plus an airport rail link. The government are trying to market the tunnel as some extra city bypass. Its not. Essentially all it does is divert previous traffic ( notably trucks) who when coming from the west needed to go over both the Westgate and Bolte brides to access the dock area. ( and vice versa) Think trucking of containers on and off ships. Now there is a shortcut, but tolled. There was also a local issue in those suburbs bordering the docks where trucks used “rat runs” to access. Now those trucks are banned from those roads and is almost compulsory to use the new Westgate tunnel. Also, if you’re coming from Tullamarine airport to western suburbs/Geelong it’s now easier via the tunnel. But it’s not a true cross city route, like the Westgate Freeway/M1 present road which takes you from one side of the city to the other without going through the city central area. Also it’s more like $12b, but who’s counting. If the original LNP plan of the East West link had gone ahead there would have been a true alternative cross city route when the main Westgate/M1 has problems. Plus, an airport rail link. How can you have a 2025 major city without a major public transport link to the airport. It’s Labor, they’re idiots.

“Oh, This Is Gonna Be Great: Trump Soon to File Massive Lawsuit Against BBC”
“There are likely millions of people all over the world who still believe that on Jan. 6, 2021, President Donald Trump tried to overthrow the government of the United States so as to ensure that he could remain in office past the expiration of his term, and that he did so by calling upon an unruly mob of white supremacists to storm the Capitol and stop the official counting of the electoral votes in the 2020 presidential election. Many, if not most, of them continue to have this idea because the people they trust in the establishment media and on the political left have insistently told them that was what happened ever since that fateful day. One of the most trusted voices that misled people on that day and thereafter was the BBC. And now Trump is preparing to fight back.
Fox News reported Monday that Trump “teased his intention to move forward with a major lawsuit against the BBC, dubbing its depiction of him ‘fake news.’” That it certainly was. Trump added: “In a little while, you’ll be seeing I’m suing the BBC for literally putting words in my mouth. Literally. They put words in my mouth. Even the media can’t believe that one. They actually put terrible words in my mouth having to do with January 6th that I didn’t say. So we’ll be filing that soon — probably this afternoon or tomorrow morning.” ”

It would be a shame if something was to happen to it. Tee hee!

Lol!! He’s President! Any authority he doesn’t have has to be written in the Constitution. He’s not the first President to remodel the White House either. Ah, a bunch of Karens in a Histerical Society want to stop him..

It would’ve been better for John Howard.to abstain from his short TV interview.
That was just rambling of old man, which could not be compared with firm & clear opinion of his former deputy.

I have a comment about this.
I began to follow the climate debate more than a dozen years ago.
As recall, even James Hansen admitted that there is little or no warming in US continent records, which as I understand are the best and most complete records.
Being a midwit of limited education, it slays me that such obvious culture wide ‘deceits’ are able to overwhelm the discussion.
If I knew of this (graph of US cont vis a vie global), why can’t a Harvard educated science reporter at the NYT know it?
My guess is they do, but openly lie by omission for reasons.
And I should have substituted the word maroon instead of moron like Bugs Bunny, and probably for the same reasons Bugs did.
It’s like the recent German study on PCR tests, that pointed they don’t work because of reasons even a schlub like me was aware of in 2020.
This happens to me a lot.
In my car the other, I turned on C-Span’s* replay of network news talk show, and all supposed brilliant political minds sound like insufferable morons.
*(I was only pushed to it because modern radio music is also insufferably moronic.)
Our problem is that the CAGW deceit has metastasized across the managerial intelligentsia.
The intellectual hierarchy is collapsing across the board second Reformation style.

Here’s a request for everyone. Prompted by comments where @ or * or other characters get substituted into words.
Just write a word how it is meant to be spelt, or at least how you think it is spelt. Don’t put @ or other symbols as a substitute. Seems to now be popular when discussing certain religions. It includes modifying swear words too. If you’re doing it to not offend someone then choose a different word.
If you’re trying to get around what you think might be a moderating filter, then don’t. Filters are likely to pick up variations. So just don’t. If a filter is set by a platform or the blog owner it’s there for a reason. Trying to circumvent these things is disrespectful and insulting to the blog owner.
If you’re trying to make a swear word more palatable then choose a different word. The original word is obviously still discernible, otherwise there’s no point inserting an * or whatever to modify it because if it wasn’t still discernible then your comment wouldn’t make sense. If it’s still discernible then it’s likely as offensive as you feared the unmodified word would be.
Merry Christmas. – Raquel (Mod)
(oh, and as far as Merry Christmas goes for substituting letters. Don’t write X-mas. You’re not saving much time or space and, whether you believe the reason for the Christmas is valid or not, the Christ part of Merry Christmas is the important part. Don’t fall into the trap of attempts to remove Jesus from our calendar, even innocently. It’s like the BC in dates becoming “common era” instead of Christ.
And don’t get me started on Happy Holidays instead of Merry Christmas. You can probably guess my thoughts. 😉
Ok, that is my opinion and you’re obviously free to choose your own way on Christmas. The above moderating request is less negotiable. 🙂 )

” If a filter is set by a platform or the blog owner it’s there for a reason. ”
So, how do we discus Nazis? They are an important part of the political landscape over the last century yet trying to discuss anything to do with them, right up to the present Ukraine war, always ends up before a censor. I don’t think our disagreements go so far as to calling each other Nazis, so why are they moderated and not the other Socialists?
20
You discuss it just like you did now. Write the word.
If that is a word that triggers a moderating flag then so be it.
I actually don’t know what words are and aren’t triggers. Lots of comments end up in moderating without any obvious word issue. We clear them as quickly as practical. But some words are necessary to be filtered because unfortunately the lowest common denominator needs to be catered for. There are commenters who wish mischief upon us.
A couple of commenters have all their comments go to moderating for reasons that can not be explained. Nothing set by the blog owner.
(I might be misusing “lowest common denominator”. But there are definitely some vulgar fractions being catered for)
41
Gregor would like to know if this means that he will be forever in moderation.
20
Nothing is changing as far as moderating goes. Your general experiences after today will be generally as they were before today. My above request does not alter any filters.

Usually mods will provide a feedback note within comments that have been rejected and won’t be approved. The feedback might look like:
[Your comment is off topic to Jo’s article. Feel free to re-post it in a daily thread that is open to various topics. – Raquel]
If you see your comment sitting in moderating with a feedback note, you can reply to that message using the “reply” feature, and the mods will see the reply as a new message in moderating. The mods will post further feedback if warranted.

I’ve got a slide, don’t know where showing the HaDCRUT5 Southern and Northern Hemisphere Warming from 1979 to 2020.
It shows Southern Hemisphere warming up at 0.11C per decade and the Northern Hemisphere at 0.28C per decade.
Starting about equal in 1979. I thought that the level of CO2 was equal in both; perhaps the reason is because Trump is up there?

Stellantis introduce a square steering wheel
Peugeot isn’t just tinkering with design quirks, it’s actively pushing to bring its experimental ‘Hypersquare’ steering wheel into the real world. The company is pairing the concept with a new steer-by-wire system slated for the next-generation 208.

More nuanced.
Masks work for surgeons. Standing still in temperature controlled environments. Stops them gobbing into patients.
Humidity and movement degrade the performance of masks to the stage that they can have an overall negative health impact. Corchrane detailed findings from 2018/19 ish (can’t be bothered to search the link, our health officials didn’t when they introduced mask mandates MID-AUSTRALIAN SUMMER! At this stage – why bother?)
If they are to be worn, change every 20 mins.
Long-term mask wearing has been associated with negative health impacts. A dentist in 2018 asked my consent to work on me maskless – they were a profession where this had been recognised. For longer=term procedures, some were preferring, with consent of the patient, to work maskless, get a break from the mask in their workday.
