I looked that up and seems like it didn’t work too well.

They would have done better, measuring out the zinc sulphate into half gram doses and encouraging people to take them as a mineral supplement.
50
Yes , I wonder if pill manufacture might not have been a big enough industry at that time, to treat a whole population.
Zinc oxide is the oral remedy of choice on farm : the sulphate is unpleasant to the taste.
And the mechanisms involving glutathione peroxidase were still years away.
But at least they got the zinc : an ionophore would have been helpful too.

There are other photos in the archives showing lines of folks queuing up , and what looks like a giant perfume applicator from early last century, a Venturi and a rubber bulb attached to a reservoir, being used to squirt zinc into the open mouths.

It wouldn’t surprise me if, much like with the Spanish Flu, when historians study Covid 100 years from now every everyone involved is dead and gone, they’ll discover that an obscene amount of the deaths were iatrogenic and that the response was worse than the disease. It won’t happen before that because too many people doing the studies today owe their careers to Fauci, Collins, Baric, and the other various villains of the Covid pandemic. We need to get two or three generations away from their influence over the profession before a truly unbiased study can be conducted.
https://totalityofevidence.substack.com/p/more-evidence-19demic-deaths
‘Doing something’ in a panic is often worse than doing nothing (or doing what has always been done) when you don’t have good information. I firmly believe lives would have been saved if the standard pre-2020 pandemic response of ‘isolate the symptomatic and let everyone else keep calm and carry on’ and ‘develop a vaccine on a tried and tested timeline to ensure safety and efficacy goals are met’ (particularly when playing with new technologies). Instead, we got the chicken with it’s head chopped off response of ‘shut down the global economy, isolate everyone, and take this untested experimental jab … or else’.
200
The fact that the existing pandemic act in Godzone , which provided for quarantine of the symptomatic and every one else carry on, was ignored in favour of lockdowns etc. tells the whole story of what this was really about.

FWIW – covid vaccines make the news again
“States with higher vaccination rates exhibited significantly larger increases in excess mortality… even after adjusting for confounders.” Last month, two German researchers published the actuarial equivalent of a mass grave uncovered by international investigators— and I’ll give you one guess what correlated with the huge spike in excess deaths. It was titled Study: Regional Patterns of Excess Mortality in Germany During the COVID-19 Pandemic and published in Royal Society Open Science.”
“The two German statisticians did something rare (these days): they cut through the political fog by performing a clean, actuarially rigorous analysis of excess mortality across all sixteen German states. No “modeling” wizardry, no “assumptions,” no “estimates,” no “adjustments.” They simply asked: How many people should have died versus how many actually did?”
“But this study climbs onto a tower of previous studies and case reports proving problems with the mRNA shots. It’s a pile of paper thousands of reams deep and a mile wide. It is all being held back by a crumbling dam of denial, a vast ocean of truth temporarily restrained by a thin veneer of concretized arrogance.
But wait. There’s more.”
“Vaccine mRNA remained detectable in approximately half of samples collected more than 200 days after vaccination…and was detected in sperm and seminal fluid.” Just when you thought COVID science couldn’t get any weirder, here comes a completely separate peer-reviewed bombshell from Israel, showing more mRNA wandering into places the experts swore it would never go, including, at long last, the family jewels. In October, a study published in the Annals of Case Reports, titled “Detection of Pfizer BioNTech Messenger RNA COVID-19 Vaccine in Human Blood, Placenta and Semen.” ”
“In other words, old-fashioned science directly contradicted years of official assurances, pharma talking points, and media’s arrogant smirking. It did so using Sanger sequencing, nested PCR, and basic, in-the-field biological sampling— the kind of work that should have been done, and could have been done before the mass rollout, but wasn’t.”

Speaking with my Son 2 night ago, as now every time I make a Phone Call on my Mobile
A Recorded Voice starts with

He suggested I call 000 to see if it works
Sure enough. while waiting yesterday, for my Youngest Daughter to collect my No 8 Grandchild from end of year 8 Primary – Grandson 12 Years, finishing Year 6 Junior School and take them down to Balmoral Baths for end of Primary School Ritual to jump off the Pool Deck into the Water in their full school uniform
I rang 000 on my supposed unable to ring 000 Mobile at 1130, while sitting in the car & was answered immediately with “Police, Ambulance, Fire”.
I apologised quickly for the call and explained why I was calling and hung up.
My Samsung Note 8 is not one of the 11 Models Identified.
It is 4G and has VOLTE Indicator
Who do I ring?
Kogan Mobile (who use Vodafone Network), Samsung, ACMA?

What a Country Australia has become – Samsung’s Failure becomes the Consumer’s Problem & Cost
How many Australinas are having their lives disrupted by this Travesty of Government Policy?
As Usual like $98 Million BOM New Web Debacle – No one takes responsibility
120
I don’t think it is Samsung’s fault.
It is the Australian Government’s fault for prematurely shutting down the 3G network.
Few other countries have done so without a plan.
See editorial at:

Politicians should never be allowed to make engineering decisions.
141
David,
my phone is 4G not 3G, and Software is Up to date.
And it should not be the Australian Consumers Fault.
Older Samsung phones in Australia may not be able to make emergency 000 calls when the primary network is unavailable, prompting telcos to block affected devices from their networks if not replaced or updated within 28 days of notification.
Telstra testing has identified over 70 older Samsung models, with 11 deemed unfixable and requiring replacement, while others need a firmware update to restore emergency calling capability.
The issue stems from Samsung’s failure to license Vodafone 4G LTE bands in certain older devices, preventing them from connecting to emergency services on Vodafone when Telstra or Optus networks are down.
As of December 2025, affected users who have not been contacted are advised to check their device status using Telstra’s IMEI checker or contact their provider directly.
Affected Devices:
11 Samsung models must be replaced, including the Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6, S6 edge, and S6 Edge+.
Other models, such as the Galaxy S10, S10+, S10e, and various A-series and J-series phones from 2016–2018, require a software update.
Action Required:
Users must either replace their device or update to the latest software. Telstra and Optus are notifying impacted customers via email or SMS.
Blocking Timeline:
Devices not updated or replaced within 28 days of notification will be blocked from all Australian mobile networks, rendering them unable to make or receive calls or send SMS, though Wi-Fi data may still work.
30
I understand OldOzzie but there wouldn’t have been a problem at all had 3G not been prematurely shut down which could carry the emergency calls.

It won’t call 000 in some circumstances. There has been discussion about not working when no able to access your contracted carrier and having to use alternates.
Time to move on
21
The point is “can you afford to take the risk?” not who’s to blame and who’s right or wrong.
000 works today, but will it work 3 months from now?
It’s no good clutching your chest in pain and blaming Kogan or telco’s because you can’t reach 000.
Get a phone guaranteed to work, then pursue your issue later. Priorities.
20
Sure – but what about those who cant afford a new phone? The whole telecommunications systems are failing on so many levels – particularly in regional areas. Recently, our valley – which is designated as “remote” suffered a total communications outage due to a huge storm. Residents that still had landlines suffered an outage for the first time their recollection – apparently due to the fact that, although the copper wiring still connected them to the grid, the regional towers have 1) replaced copper in their connections with fibre and 2) have inferior back up batteries which did not last long in the outage.
Our valley did not have 000 connections, as I understand it, for over 20 hours.

“China has triggered a “DeepSeek moment” in hypersonic weapons, unveiling cement-coated Mach-7 missiles that can be mass-produced for roughly $100,000 per unit. The development is setting off alarm bells within the U.S. military, which has yet to field a hypersonic weapon and cannot come anywhere close to matching such production costs.

Israel held a defense technology event, Defense Tech Week, in late November 2025, where it showcased new military drones and other weapons systems developed during its war in Gaza, including those used in combat operations.
The event, sponsored by the Israeli defense ministry and Tel Aviv University, featured demonstrations of drones and other systems deployed in Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria, with some footage from the conflict used to market the technology to international buyers.
Despite global criticism and bans on Israeli officials attending certain arms fairs, representatives from over 20 countries, including several European and Asian nations, attended the exhibition.
Drones and AI-Powered Systems on Display: Israeli companies presented advanced drone systems, including those developed by eyesAtop and Ottopia, which allow soldiers to coordinate multiple drones and control ground vehicles remotely using AI for target identification and strikes.
These systems were used in Gaza and the West Bank, with footage of drone operations shown at the event.
Use of Combat Footage for Marketing: At least one video shown at the event depicted Israeli attack drones flying into buildings in Gaza before explosions occurred, highlighting their operational use in the war.
This footage was used to promote the effectiveness of the technology to foreign buyers.

This is what the monthly sunspot count will look like to 2100:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1K99I2zNeJeZQG-5fssQopK5cdEUqr7_T/view?usp=sharing
Now that I know the reason for the sunspots, I found the best correlation was to determine the mismatch between the kinetic energy of the orbit for the gravitational force and offset from the barycentre to what it would be if the force was through the barycentre.
If the Sun was solid, it would not be pushed around in the way it is because it would just spin faster to store the gravitational energy needed to keep the gravitational force aligned through the barycentre. Being plasma, the induced shear forces from the spin creates turbulence that dissipates the spin energy into heat thereby limiting how fast it spins up.
I modelled the actual spin up of 1kg of plasma at the equator starting and 500m/s and velocity limiting at 1800m/s. It took from 1 Jan 2000 to early November 2001 to start braking. Once braking, it required 2.8kW braking power to stop it from spinning faster at the high KE mismatch between 2002 and 2004. The equator is the highest point of energy gain but the maximum shear occurs at higher latitudes.
This is a dissipative process and is converting energy from the gravitation field to kinetic energy in the spin then mostly into into heat.
40
Fascinating correlation – do you have plots of the orbit paths of the sun around the barycentre for for your report period?
I ask this as a 1987 paper on solar intertial motion has plots of such motion (p.201 in this reference) and am curious to know if these orbit paths are still valid.
Thanks for your interesting work.

FWIW – more on things covid –
“You Don’t Believe In Science! (Let’s Discuss)”
By Karl Denninger
“I’ve heard that one, coupled with “you don’t believe in {medicine|AGW|etc}” many times. Of course this got amplified to 11 when the virus showed up.
Let me outline a few things that were allegedly “not science” that I pointed out with respect to some of these things that in fact are now admitted as true. For instance, I said originally after the covid virus sequence hit public databanks and I pulled it and looked at it that it had to be man-made because there were two arginine encodings in a row that never occur in nature in humans or any of the alleged precursor animals — and even worse, that specific sequence is used deliberately in viral research for this exact reason.”
“Then there was the Remdesivir and similar debacles during the crazy. That drug specifically was an attempted “rescue” from the dustbin — it had failed in its primary trial a long time prior on safety because it caused severe kidney damage in a huge percentage of the people (about 1 in 5) it was given to. Then it was tried against Ebola and more people died in the trial arm than those who got nothing! That’s impressive considering how deadly Ebola is to start with, by the way. Giving that crap to anyone on a routine basis after it was proved twice in those studies to be toxic to the kidneys should have gotten anyone and everyone involved instantly arrested for either attempted or completed malice homicide.”
“Remember the mRNA claims? It stays in the arm and the delivered mRNA instructions are used in the arm muscle and are rapidly consumed and thus destroyed. So said the claim of “science.” I said that was bull**** before it rolled out because mRNA was not a new technology and the prior work with it failed on safety because it could not be controlled as to its biodistribution and time of expression. Moderna had been trying to make it work as a delivery mechanism for cancer for roughly a decade and had never succeeded. In other words the actual record was that it didn’t work as claimed and yet here we were.”
“Further, remember the claims of “herd immunity” for the covid shots? I called bull**** on that too on the mathematics; the original studies were insufficiently powered (not enough people) to demonstrate that and made no claim that interrupting transmission was a study endpoint. That wasn’t “science” it was pure marketing through
lying, intentionally, claiming something that not only didn’t exist in evidence there was no effort made to determine it in advance either because doing so would take too much time and require too many people.”
