Very interesting and thoughtful article by a number of contributors which I guess could be applied to much of the West
https://dailysceptic.org/2025/11/24/what-should-be-done-about-britains-impending-collapse/
I would pinpoint 4 profound changes in the 21st century which has eaten away at the foundations of the West.
Immigration, Net Zero, The Internet and Smartphones.
Of them all I would probably cite the last 2 as having been the most pernicious and are causing the most widespread damage in obvious and also subtle ways as we steadily digitise everything. This has created an overly complicated electronic world that is built on sand and leaves us wide open to our enemies and criminals and our own institutions who seem to want to our eradicate hard won freedoms..
The first two topics will cause equal damage over time if we let them.
The new four horsemen of the Apocalypse, surely.
262
What Should Be Done About Britain’s Impending Collapse?
The British Government could prevent collapse by controlling everyone using (1) The Office Research, Information and Communications Unit (RICU), (2) The Military Intelligence, Section 5 (MI5), (3) The Military Intelligence, Section 6 (MI6), (4) The Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ), (5) Defence Intelligence (DI). (6) The Joint Intelligence Organisation (JIO). (7) The Office for Security and Counter-Terrorism (OSCT). (8) The National Crime Agency (NCA), (9) The Breakthrough Media Network (BMN), (10) The Office For Censorship Obedience & Manipulation (OFCOM), (11) The National Internet Intelligence Investigations Team (NIIIT), (12) The 77th Brigade Domestic and International Psyops Teams, (13) The GCHQ JTRI Group, (14) The BBC lead Trusted News Initiative (TNI), (15) The Government Communications Service (GCS), and (16) The Defence and Security Media Advisory Committee (DSMA) to issue hundreds of DSMA-Notices to keep ‘Deep State’ Crimes secret.
The Deep State British Establishment can also protect itself from collapse by getting Secret Courts to issue hundreds of Super-Injunctions and thousands of non-disclosure agreements (NDAs). The government has also made sure that products made by Big Farmer Gates, that kill people, are protected from financial collapse, by liability protections.

Is the Labour Party & possibly even factions within the Torys decimating the UK on purpose to just prompt a return of the UK to the EU fold??? Judging by the current state of affairs they’re headed in that direction. Why is the EU so quiet about the current situation in UK.
Cripple the country, economically, financially and divided by the immigration chaos, to make EU membership more than welcoming to the newly impoverished & ONCE Great Britain. It may appear far fetched but I wouldn’t be surprised if this is close to the truth.
Between the WEF, the UN and the EU which I believe are still chasing the World Government fantasies! I pray that Nigel Farage is able to convince the Tory & Labour electorates to see where the country is headed! This will be the last opportunity before the left in general sink country!
10
I would concur that smartphones can become a problem. One instance I saw recently where 15 children were waiting for the school bus of whom 14 were glued to their smartphones. I asked the one girl who was not using a smartphone whether this was typical behaviour and she said yes. There was no chatter or interaction between the children. Will they not be missing out on learning how to interact with other people except via their phones?
280
I would replace immigration and net zero with critical theory, since that is what drives all the destructive social activism stuff (which includes open borders nonsense and Club of Rome derived climatism). Unfettered immigration, multi-culturalism (instead of assimilation), gender theory, anti-capitalism, anti-natalism, anti-modernity, anti-colonialism, leftist anti-semitism, and the general rejection of western civilization all spring from that same poisoned well. Marxism may have lost in the tangible world, but in the intangible world of (terrible) ideas, it survived and thrived on the long march through the institutions and has poisoned much of the modern world.
220
In America the term illegal immigration got replaced by just immigration in the narrative. This happened during the 2000s. That was a sea change. It was on purpose. And it still causes much confusion. Most Americans are not and have never been against legal immigration.
100
Or “undocumented migrant”.
The Left like to think of criminals in terms of some sort of euphemism.
Criminality and consequent social decay is engineered by the Left as it benefits their cause.
Look at the criminality in blue states in the United States or Australia’s most lunatic Leftist state, Sicktoria, which is almost lawless now. Sicktoria (Victoria) is equivalent to Commiefornia. And most of Western Europe is also governed by the Left and also has high levels of illegal immigration and lawlessness.
181
Immigration, Net Zero, The Internet and Smartphones.
Strongly disagree. UK. is at the forefront of the Climate Change™ scam. It is primarily driven by radical left globalists seeking a permanent source of funding without accountability. They actually missed out with their proposed tax on emails way back in the 1990s.
Their latest effort was tax on shipping. The UN would collect it and pass it on to the poor countries after taking their share and making them indispensable to the leeches taking the money.
I am banking on the next taxing thrust being on AI. UN will be after a share of every token. Right now Nvidia is at the forefront there but Musk is not far behind.
Musk has the smartphone income guaranteed through Starlink. I expect cell towers will be obsolete within a decade.
110
I get the impression that no one at the UN is very smart. Musk is a long way ahead in thinking of ways to make money.
Think if the UN had looked ahead and invented PayPal and then went on to fund Starlkink.
Instead they are trying to make out that unless they tax CO2 we are all going to die. Surely they can see the stupidity here. If you tax it, it will go away and then no income.
81
It’s not the internet or cellphones.
The foundations of the West have been eroded by the failure of its’ own leadership class.
Probably the result of the cultural assault on masculinity.
Cellphones and the internet?
John Wayne would just make you turn them off.

The UK conservative party is the oldest and most successful political party in the World. However it faces extinction. A mostly appalling 14 years in Govt when often it was difficult to tell they were Conservatives meant they were thoroughly drubbed at the last election.
Labour proved to be even worse and have plummeted in the polls with a Major Budget due tomorrow (wed) that if it is as bad as predicted will eventually force Starmer out of the Premiership. That doesn’t mean they will call an election though, as a new leader will take over.
Reform is currently heading the polls as Tory voters in particular move over to them together with a fair few Labour supporters who have been ignored over immigration.
https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2025/11/24/consigned-to-history-uk-conservatives-would-win-just-14-seats-at-next-election-poll-finds/
200
I think the hand-wringing about the death of the conservative party is much ado about nothing. Yes, they are getting wiped out by Reform at the moment, but if there is one thing all Nigel Farage movements have in common, it is a short lifespan. He’s great at building them up, not so great at sustaining them for the long-haul. The conservatives can win all their old voters back in a heartbeat just by dumping woke crap and Net Zero and getting back to ‘conserving’ the culture and traditions of the UK. As soon as they do that convincingly (no hemming and hawing), all they have to do is wait for Reform to fizzle out in an election cycle or two and they are right back where they started.
61
Steve,
Is that even possible? In the saying: Fool me once, shame on you; fool me … well what is the count up to for British voters now? After “Brexit means Brexit”, and “No deal is better than a bad deal”, and years of “all in this together”, don’t you think optimism will have given way to cynicism?
How, from opposition, do the Conservatives convince the voters that No, this time we *really* mean it?
140
Through actions and unequivocal rhetoric that they can’t take back. That’s one of the things Americans like about Trump. Yes, he’s crass and boorish, but when he comes out and says Mexico is sending criminals and rapists, or sends the National Guard into cities to deter crime, he’s burning his boats after landing on shore. Trump CAN’T flip-flop on illegal immigration. He CAN’T flip-flop on crime prevention. His words and actions have been too provocative for him to ever waffle and take a different position. Like Cortez, he chose to eliminate the option of retreat. He’s got to win the fights he picked or die trying.
41
Likewise here with the Coalition. They have to stop being Labor Lite, stop chasing the woke vote, and start providing value for our taxes. The money being wasted on renewables associated policies is costing us dearly yet it is achieving absolutely nothing except destruction; destruction of our country environment, destruction of a once reliable and cheap grid, destruction of our once great heavy industries.
190
“They have to stop being Labor Lite, stop chasing the woke vote” and yet they continue to double down on woke with two new DEI hires in Vic and NSW as opposition leaders, with a possible third in SA before their March 2026 state election.
Sussan Ley is the original DEI leftist “moderate” in the Federal Liberal team and isn’t fooling anyone with the half-assed approach to Net Zero /Paris accords rubbish.
20
Quite simply Lawrie…they can’t…best off looking for a better option and I think after many, many years of trying the door has been opened for One Nation…we shall see !!
20
The last time One Nation looked like becoming an effective force Kerry Packer killed it by publishing in Women’s Day one week out from the election a story about problems with a son of Pauline’s.
That story would have halved One nations vote in the bush. It nearly wiped One Nation out!
00
We hadn’t heard too much recently of Pauline Hanson in this part of the world but she is obviously still around
https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2025/11/24/watch-australian-lawmaker-suspended-accused-of-blatant-racism-for-burqa-protest/
I was surprised at the numbers in the major OZ cities who might be affected by the ban as numbers increase rapidly, although still far behind those coming from China. Were most of the latter coming from Hong Kong?
30
Funny how you could be certain who it was under the burkha as soon as she walked in….
I am against any bans – want to wear one to the shops these days to ward off the cameras everywhere.
I remember a girl wearing a head scarf to school for a while after a bat got in her room and had to be cut out of her long hair.
We don’t need more rules.
A waste of pre-Christmas political capital. Can’t help but wonder if they aren’t all in on it while prepping the next beating for all us….
42
The more salient point to me is that burqas are banned in the Afghani parliament now. So are women.
Both UK and Sweden fine parents if their kids do not come to school without an acceptable reason with proof. What is that aimed at?
The burqa is far more about sex discrimination and persecution than religion.
I really have no idea of Pauline’s motive for showing up in a burqa but I know many Auatralian women see burqas as sex discrimination.
110
Pauline Hanson managed to get comments from media around the world. It was declaimed as a ‘stunt’ but seemed effective to me! Also, amazing legs for a 70 year old, well-highlighted by the burqa that was only banned in parliament (rules for thee etc).
Also banned – trailer for new Please Explain style movie which was to be shown in Parliament House.
Banning, Banishing, Berated as ‘far-right’? It’s how they get One Nation attention; idiot lefties!

COP 30 may have started the process to end COPs. Maybe even a new green treaty to replace the 33 year old UNFCCC, but only signed by the greenest countries. Maybe nothing. Stay tuned.
https://www.cfact.org/2025/11/24/cop-30-fumbles-the-hard-issue-into-the-future/
91
I saw this morning how Ed Miliband is claiming victory after COP30 on the basis that 83 countries are still on board with the nonsense. He claimed …
https://wattsupwiththat.com/2025/11/25/uk-climate-change-minister-claims-cop30-victory/
Yet, when I looked up the signees, it was mostly EU countries and a few small island nations, NONE of which rank in the top 10 in population and only one of which (Germany) ranks in the top 20 in total population. Seems to me the vast majority of the world is NOT on-board with Net Zero.
180
Right but still roughly half the countries including the UK of course. Is Oz there? Enough to destabilize the UN COP process.
51
A replacement for COP would be due to the standard product life cycle described by marketing theory – development, introduction, growth, maturity and decline.
Now the COP product is in decline it needs to be replaced by a new product or a revamp with a “product life cycle extension”.
Whatever the case, the parasites are still with us and need a new or more susceptible host to parasitise.
50
Asbestos found in more turbines and Coalition seeks temporary halt. New wind turbine installations should be suspended until an asbestos audit is completed, the opposition says, as the wind lobby urges members to check for asbestos across their supply chains.
If asbestos in playsand can close schools in Tasmania shutting down windmill installations should be a gimmie!

There is a major gas discovery in the Otway basin off Port Campbell. (half way between Warrnambool and Cape Otway). And only 12km from an existing well, the first new discovery in years. But it’s not headline news? Why not?
You would think that the Victorian government would be jumping for joy. But having spent the time since lockdown in making sure Victorians cannot legally access gas, nothing is being said. New gas appliances, new suburbs without gas, no repairs on old appliances. State Legal bans in place now on uranium, thorium, coal seam gas, fracking, nuclear power, Victorians are being told not to use gas. It will be very disappointing to make such a wonderful discovery. And of course there could be many more if we bothered to look.
Also the State government may have a problem as it is technically on Federal land, not State land. Maybe we can give it to the Chinese? They can still find a use for our gas.
When did Australian governments start disenfranchising Australians? And spending all our cash on Climate Change and electricity. Of couse we can also make gas, oil, kerosense from endless reserves of coal, but we are not allowed do that either. For the good of the rest of the planet apparently.
280
From AI
Details of the discovery
Location: The Essington-1 well is located approximately 53 kilometers offshore from Port Campbell.
Depth: The well was drilled to a depth of about 2.5 kilometers below the seabed.
Drilling company: The drilling was conducted by ConocoPhillips as part of a larger exploration program.
Context: This is the first new natural gas discovery in the Otway Basin in four years.
Next steps: ConocoPhillips will conduct further work to determine the commercial viability of the gas discovery. Another well, Charlemont-1, is scheduled to begin drilling in December, weather permitting.

You can follow progress by ASX press releases from 3D Energi (ticker:TDO) who are the permit holders. ConocoPhillips is the operator. A South Korean company has a share.

They are building a new gas import terminal in NSW.
Maybe we can import some of the world’s cheapest gas which we export thanks to Johnnie Howard, energy phobe, being behind giving away much of Australia’s gas supply on a bizarre 30 year contract with the Chicomms with no provision for market price or inflation at the world’s loowest prices?
https://www.smh.com.au/opinion/how-australia-blew-its-future-gas-supplies-20170928-gyqg0f.html
But don’t worry, in appreciation they were said to have “given” the Adelaide Zoo pandas.
But no one bothered to look into the arrangement. The Chicomms don’t give away pandas. They are provided on a standard commercial lease arrangement for about one million dollars per year. And they have now taken back the animals anyway. So we again paid for the privilege of giving away our gas supply.
Stupid Country. Twice.
170
Viva seem to be re-thinking their gas import terminal in Victoria. Seems unable to attract many customers.
30
How deluded you are.
This is the worst possible news for Victorian Labor. Gas contains carbon and, when burnt in air, produces carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide is the sole cause of Climate Change™ and if the world is to keep below the 1.5C threshold of annihilation we all have to stop burning carbon.
The only people rejoicing are the lawyers. The question of extracting the gas will be in the courts for the next 10 years.
110
It’s an exploration well, and as such, will be “plugged and abandoned” once evaluation is complete. (as the name suggests… multiple cement plugs to isolate various zones, and removal of any parts of the well to a depth of some metres below the seabed. Water depth is only around 100m.
Assuming it’s financially viable, any development/production is still a few years away. They were estimating combined reserves from 2 zones at 260-ish billion cubic feet before they drilled. Time will tell.
As an aside, the rig is the Transocean Equinox. It’ll keep drilling around the Otway Basin for many months yet. Specifications are here:
https://www.deepwater.com/documents/RigSpecs/Transocean%20Equinox.pdf
Don’t forget that BP and others were weeks away from starting a drilling campaign in the Great Australian Bight, and one of the factors that lead to the cancellation of the programme, was community backlash, though I am also sure if state and/or federal governments were really keen on the project, they’d find a way to sweeten the deal.
61
Arrgh , Oz, the land of the double standard. Off shore oil or gas wells can produce “community backlash” that causes projects to be either on hold or abandoned. Meanwhile, on shore at wind factory or solar sites, community backlash is simply overlooked and these developments ahead anyway. I try to keen up but it is getting harder.
The other dilemma is, Victorias mineral wealth, if developed could actually pay off our state debt and set the place up for future generations. Wind and solar factories have short working lives and rather than generating enormous wealth for the state are net drains on the wealth of the populace.
How do the “decision makers” keep getting things arse about?
100
Don’t frustrate yourself trying to understand it.
Just know that everything that the Left say or do is the opposite of the truth, reason, or basic human decency or involves a double standard.
There is no cognitive dissonance that way.
40
“There is a major gas discovery in the Otway basin off Port Campbell.”
Must be a very brave company to run the Sicktorian gauntlet and drill there.

Hospitality professional fish and chip wrapper-turned-politician Pauline Hanson committed the ultimate food sin by destroying $100-plus steaks on a sandwich press. The wagyu deserved better.

I’m sure you would approve the multi millions it would cost to have all parliamentary offices equipped with Michelin approved gas cooktops.
Thinks: Why haven’t I tried that? Provided it gets hot enough every bachelor should be told about this.
00
Cooking steak in a sandwich toaster is a travesty as is sending the Australian Nit Zero clown to run a UN inspired nepotism stunt as COP 26 president in residence: Chris Bowen’s international climate role has sparked a dramatic parliamentary showdown that forced the minister to abandon plans for a crucial April summit in Colombia. He can hide but cannot out run public opinion

Now that Trump’s Ukrainian peace deal is coming to fruition, the socialist legacy media are all referring to it as the ‘US’ peace deal.
70
Whereas in NZ , Stuff reports on why Putin will never accept Europe’s Ukrainian peace deal.
And the U.K./Europe will never accept Trump’s Ukrainian peace deal.
And further , Russia will never accept any deal that does not meet its original conditions, because it does not have to; it can continue to pursue its stated objective.
There seems to be a good deal of deal posturing being dealt.
40
The peace plan has now been reduced to 19 points, which Putin will reject.
The real game is happening elsewhere, China is going to walk away from helping Russia.
‘How worried should we be about Xi’s call to Trump?
‘The US president has given American allies and partners much to fear as he goes over their heads to deal with China’s leader. For Beijing, it is a dream scenario.’ (Oz)

Its a good sign that he doesn’t want a get together with Zelensky until the signing.
If Putin refuses an unconditional ceasefire then he’ll be forced to accept an unconditional surrender.

Sure, sure… The Ukies lost two more cities this last week.. Pokrovsk and Kupyansk.
00
Broaden your sources. Pokrovsk is still contested. Don’t believe your commo mates.
Russia will lose this war in the Homeland, not Ukraine. They already have no way back to their earlier “prosperity” inside two generations, they are so underwater on this venture.

They are on the wrong side of history.
01
LOL
No one gives a shit what they think. Only Ukraine and Russia get a vote.
The EU is irrelevant. Their economies are stagnant, their industrial might is declining, their cost of living is rising while their standard of living declines, their governments are becoming increasingly authoritarian/draconian, and their native populations are being subsumed by immigrant hordes who don’t share their history or culture.
60
‘Only Ukraine and Russia get a vote.’
I guess they’ll have to fight it out.
‘The EU is irrelevant …’
At the end of hostilities (after Putin’s demise) the Europeans will encourage the vanquished masses to adopt European values. This is what we have learnt since the collapse of the old USSR, on this occasion the EU is going to uplift them before China does.
All this post war activity should help the Europeans out of their economic doldrums.
00
the Europeans will encourage the vanquished masses to adopt European values.
Is that the third world into Europe pre-migration or post-migration values?
00
With the Federation broken up it would be up to the new states to decide on immigration policy. They won’t make the same mistakes as the Europeans.

Gateway Pundit:
“Nearly Every City in Germany Is Going Bankrupt”: How Globalist Mass Migration Policies Are Turning Germany Into a Third-World Welfare Colony
by Robert Semonsen Nov. 25, 2025 7:20 pm
Germany’s cities are collapsing under a €30 billion deficit in 2025, and even mayors of the neoliberal, pro-mass migration, ‘center right’ party, the Christian Democratic Union, are finally admitting the globalist system they helped create has driven the Europe’s strongest economy straight into the wall.
The mayor of Essen, a large city in the western part of Germany, recently admitted that almost every single German city is on the brink of bankruptcy, with only a handful managing balanced budgets, BILD reported.
North Rhine-Westphalia, the country’s biggest state, has just 10 solvent municipalities out of 396, and the rest of Germany, tragically, looks exactly the same.
For the first time, even once-wealthy cities are imposing total spending freezes, and the era of endless Merkel-style handouts is officially dead..
Essen itself went from expecting a tiny surplus to a €123 million black hole in a single year—proof that globalist open-border policies, combined with Germany’s exceedingly generous social welfare programs, have destroyed the nation’s finances overnight.
The main culprit? The unrelenting stream migrants, the majority of whom are welfare-dependent military-aged men. So-called ‘refugee’ housing, welfare, and integration efforts alone devour at least €50 billion a year nationwide, and that’s the official low-ball figure.
Add in exploding costs for schools, hospitals, prisons, and psychiatric wards filled with foreign nationals, and the real bill is heading toward €20 trillion if the catastrophic status-quo is maintained and borders stay open.
In Essen, over a third of primary-school kids now have a migration background and require expensive extra classes that native German children pay for.
Nationwide, 63% of welfare recipients have foreign roots despite being a minority—German workers are forced to fund their own replacement.
Berlin’s “rescue package” for cities is a sick joke: Essen gets €28 million a year, barely enough for two schools while costs skyrocket.
The globalist elite in Berlin drown cities in bureaucracy and then toss crumbs, pretending they’ve solved the disaster they created.
Hardworking Germans are now drowning in personal debt too—5.7 million are over-indebted for the first time in years as rents and energy prices explode.
The Merkel-Scholz-Merz era has turned Europe’s strongest economy into a bankrupt welfare magnet for the Third World. Everyone can see it, and the results have been utterly devastating. It’s time to admit the globalist establishment is utterly incompetent and has betrayed the German people at every turn.
Only the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party has the courage and political will to close the borders, slash the welfare free-for-all, and put Germans first again. Real change will only begin with them in power.
And we aren’t allowed to talk about it in Australia!
30
Maaate, this war will finish with a victor and a vanquished. Poots will not accept anything short of total capitulation, Zalenski will not cede territory.
Never the twain shall meet.
20
The Bloomberg scoop on the diplomatic clown show is encouraging the Europeans to put boots on the ground and force a ceasefire.
Australia is a member of the Coalition of the Willing and presumably will assist if requested.
01
“Germany’s cities are collapsing under a €30 billion deficit in 2025, and even mayors of the neoliberal, pro-mass migration, ‘center right’ party, the Christian Democratic Union, are finally admitting the globalist system they helped create has driven the Europe’s strongest economy straight into the wall.”
“At the end of hostilities (after Putin’s demise) the Europeans will encourage the vanquished masses to adopt European values. ”
Anyone else see a certain credibility gap there?? WHY would the Ukies want to become like Europe? They already have the economy/standard of living Europe is descending to, while Russia will be higher… dynamic, Christian values, old-fashioned family ways, un-woke, and talking to the other 80% of the world’s population who are not in the West.
How many young Australian girls are still jetting off to London for their big overseas experience? or do they get an experience they don’t want? Europe looks like it is finished, the perfect example of ‘How to destroy a perfectly good civilisation’.
20
At the end of hostilities Europe will continue to be a very large theme park.

Screening of Hanson-produced movie trailer has been banned at Parliament House by the PH Morals Police who cancelled at short notice claiming the latest project from the creators of the Please Explain cartoon series – A Super Progressive Movie – might offend someone. That’s made my day 🙂

Deer are one of the deadliest animals in the United States and are responsible for 440 deaths and 59,000 injuries per year due to causing motor vehicle accidents or by direct attack.
They are not what people think of when they think of Bambi.
Note, we have deer in Australia as well, but they are an introduced species, nit native, and people hunt them.
60
I would expand Deer to Elk and Moose. Both much larger animals. Adult Moose (plural ?) weigh from 380 to 800kg and 2 metres tall.
40
The plural of moose is meese, just like choose and cheese.
I live in the education state, the number plates tell me.
50
The plural of moose is moose. The singular noun is the same as the plural.
It is an example of an invariable plural.
Other examples are aircraft, deer, fish, headquarters, rhino and sheep.
50
I’m not sure if this is an Americanism but putting an “s” on “aircraft” to make it plural, grates.
20
Non-native English speaker here. If plural of moose was moses, it would be easy to remember. I’ll get me coat..
10
Disney has a lot to answer for. As you say deer are not Bambi and skippy (as per your post yesterday ) is not always a soft fluffy macropod. Lions and tigers cannot talk or pass on anything other than survival skills to their offspring, still enough people believe what the cartoons tell them. Both deer and roos have been responsible for peoples deaths in Australia apart from motor vehicle accident. Knew a chap that was walking along a bush track and found a new born fawn tucked under a bank. He made the mistake of trying to pick it up, and at the first bleet mum came thundering out of the scrub. on her hind legs so about 8 feet tall, front legs flaying with absolute intent to kill him. He threw the fawn down and managed to roll of the low side of the track. Very impressive bruising where a couple of contact points had been achieved, any to the head could well have killed him.
Even “pet” deer, particularly stags become aggressive and quite prepared to prove a point at any time. Rutting stags are VERY dangerous. Still people think that raising them on a bottle means they can be trusted. Not so.
90
I just happened to see this video Sambar about a woman in the US who cared for deer and regarded them as her pets, until one buck killed her.

Prominently missing from discussion on those US forces in the Caribbean –
” As I reported earlier this year, Venezuela’s quiet, unassuming eastern neighbor, Guyana, came into a bit of luck recently. It won the international lottery. Earlier this year, working with U.S.-based Texaco, Guyanese prospectors discovered one of the largest oil reserves in the world —ten billion barrels— just off the coast of Guyana’s Western half, called the Essequibo region. See the map, above.
Needless to say, the Essequibo oil fields are priceless. And Mr. Maduro wants them.”

On the peace deal-
“Trump trusts a brand-new, 38-year-old Army Secretary with no formal negotiation training or diplomatic field experience over anyone at Foggy Bottom, even to help resolve one of the most intractable military conflicts in modern history.”
..which just shows you how vital a Govt Dept of diplomats really is! You do the same negotiations every time you buy a used car.
..and this explains why the yank are trying to do a quick ‘regime change’ in Venezuela-
“So the Pentagon’s Venezuela operation sits squarely at the nexus of at least four issues of critical American interest. It is partly about oil and protecting US oil companies, at a critical moment of a Bidenflation-fueled affordability crisis. It is partly about a resurgent Monroe Doctrine, as described in Project 2025, and kicking China, Russia, and Iran out of our hemisphere. It is about liquidating the linked plagues of drugs and cartels that are transforming our big cities into third-world hellholes and our vulnerable citizens into zombies. And it is about tamping down a communist dictator who is making our own hemisphere wobbly and war-prone.”
As I noted yesterday, this is America’s history for those who have trouble reading words and need pictures or videos..

They said the same thing about his Jared Kushner right up until he delivered on the Abraham Accords. The obsession with formal training and experience in the diplomatic core might have made sense when the State Department had a long and proud tradition of delivering wins and striking deals, but it’s been decades since they’ve done anything but fail. What’s so great about experience in repeated failure? Maybe it’s time to bring in some fresh blood that is NOT trained in how to fail to get anything done.

I think you are right but it is illogical for Venezuela to attack Guyana for oil when they cannot extract what they already have. I believe that mismanagement has permanently damaged their existing fields.

“Venezuela voted in a referendum on 3 December to claim two-thirds of its smaller neighbour.” Over two years ago! Slow to get that army organised!
“No boundary between Dutch and Spanish or–after Venezuela’s independence from Spain in 1811–Dutch and Venezuelan possessions was ever defined. And none existed when three Dutch colonies–Essequibo, Berbice and Demerara–were captured by the British during the Napoleonic Wars…and consolidated into the single British colony of British Guiana in 1831.
In 1840 HM Commissioner of Boundaries commissioned Schomburgk to make a survey of the British colony’s boundaries with the republic of Venezuela and the Empire of Brazil. …What became known as the “Schomburgk Line” was the boundary they marked out dividing the territory of Venezuela from British Guiana. It claimed for British Guiana the territory west of the Essequibo river up and including the south bank of the Orinoco delta[2].
The Venezuelan government never accepted the Schomburgk Line, mapped on behalf of the British government, as its boundary with the British colony of British Guiana. In 1844 it claimed that the territory now incorporated into British Guiana was formerly Spanish and, therefore, now Venezuelan. The river Essequibo, it argued, was the true dividing line between Venezuela and British Guiana. ”
So THAT’S why the British are sending a little gunboat over to ‘Me Too’ behind the Yanks, it was a British colony that they took from the Dutch.
“Sovereign borders must be respected wherever they are in the world.”” Uh-huh, sure!

Besides the asbestos & COP-flop:
Well it might as well snow until December.
While Victoria & Tasmania have alerts/warnings for cold temperatures and snow showers – continuing into next month for parts of TAS – authorities in New Zealand have issued ‘heat alerts’ for east coast regions due to downwind foehn-effect warm temps possibly reaching 30°C over the next few days… beauty!
As ever, hot on the heels of this warm snap is a cold wave c/- the Tasmanian Low, causing snow to fall along the Southern Alps into next week, ie. December, resulting in yet another year of 12 months snowfall for NZ. Nothing ever changes. Crisis? What xxxxing crisis!

Fina is still spinning. Central pressure now at at 1003hPa.
There is a huge amount of atmospheric water over Australia. But still a bit of fuel to the south of Fina.
https://earth.nullschool.net/#current/wind/surface/level/overlay=temp/orthographic=-237.25,-23.30,1904/loc=127.011,-15.313
It could just track south for days feeding water into the country. A sight to behold.
There is another low at 1002hPa just spinning up over land quite a way further south:

It has fuel to feed off so may intensify a bit more. It is a significant change for Australia to have lows spinning up over land. It is a great outlook for the future of the country. The test will be if it is maintained through the next southern excursion of the Sun around 2030 and then a much further south excursion around 2040..

There have been a few new snowfall records set on US east coast.

MOUNT MANSFIELD, Vt. (WCAX) – It’s been an impressive and record-setting start to the snow season for the northern Green Mountains. Snow depth at the stake on Mount Mansfield reached 38″ Monday afternoon. The previous record for November 17 was 30″ set in 1999.

Mount Washington is nearing the record for the highest amount of snow recorded during the month of November, according to scientists at the mountain’s observatory.
“So far, for the month of November, we have recorded 60.1 inches of snow — that’s as of right now when I’m speaking. More is on the way in the next week or so,” Alexandra Branton, weather observer and education specialist with the Mount Washington Observatory,

Not by much: say a bit over a hundred thousand years or thereabouts.
A mere blink of an eye in geological times.

I agree with your estimate.
There comes a point when there is so much ice falling into the ocean that no amount of sunlight will warm it enough to get enopughwauter in the atmosphere to make snow fast enough to replace the amount falling in. That is when the switch turns and the ocean start rising fast with ice shelves breaking off and adding more cool water to the oceans. That takes about 10,000 years.

Algeria had its first taste of snow a few days ago with more on the way this week along with Morocco’s Atlas Mountains (possibly parts of Tunisia too). Strange thing to assert when the first science organisation chose “take nobody’s word for it” as it’s motto – strengthen environmental literacy? Not to mention the scientific response to climate change is to question the assertion, not take it as gospel. How cultish can you get.
I came across this researching another assertion from a Conversation article (google recommended) that a documentary on the fall of Ptolemaic Egypt was wrong because it ignored climate change. The amazingly lame evidence for it was some major volcanic eruptions affected the African monsoon for a few years, which correlated to times of social upheaval in Egypt, ergo, the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 44 B.C. caused the Cleopatra to suicide in 30 B.C. because of Climate change.

At the risk of being controversial, I do not believe that any modern day aborigines that live in Australia “know” any of the sacred traditional knowledge. When I worked in the Northern Territory in the sixties there were many aborigines that wore ( and very proudly ) full initiation scars . These people were “taught the knowledge” no initiation meant individuals were NOT allowed to know the secrets.
So lots of predominately white, uninitiated aborigines that claim they know the song lines and truely important stories are not being completely honest. At best they know the stories that were told like fairy tales to European kids. The deep “traditional knowledge” no matter what it was, has vanished, the “new” traditional knowledge is made up.

“THE ABOLITION OF BRITAIN: Britain’s Plan to Abolish Most Jury Trials Should Make Us Grateful for the Constitution.
Some news from Britain, courtesy of the BBC:
Justice Secretary David Lammy is proposing to massively restrict the ancient right to a jury trial by only guaranteeing it for defendants facing rape, murder, manslaughter or other cases passing a public interest test.
An internal government briefing, produced by the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) for all other Whitehall departments, confirms plans to create a new tier of jury-less courts in England and Wales.
The new courts would deal with most crimes currently considered by juries in Crown Court.
But the MoJ said no final decision had been taken by the government.
The plans, obtained by BBC News, show that Lammy, who is also deputy prime minister, wants to ask Parliament to end jury trials for defendants who would be jailed for up to five years.
This is an abomination. But it’s an abomination that, thanks to our remarkable Constitution, simply could not happen here in the United States. Our Sixth Amendment reads:”

“The UK’s far-left government has been working for quite some time on trying to define the concept of “Islamophobia.” This is urgently needed, Labour Party wonks are telling British citizens, because of a rise in “hate crimes” against Muslims. Who says there has been such a rise? The same Muslim groups that are pushing for the criminalization of “Islamophobia,” as well as the Labour government itself. Could Labour really be trying to solidify its hold on the Muslim vote by destroying the freedom of speech and imposing Sharia blasphemy laws through the back door, designed as efforts to stamp out “hate”? Why, of course they could. In fact, that is exactly what they’re doing. ”

Maybe the decline for support of juries relates to the decline of ‘peers’.
Perhaps a peer is someone that shares a set of cultural values making them able to judge others fairly in context.
The UK and EU, which the Brits faux voted to leave, have broken this.
The globalists have for a long time been purposely degrading traditional peer values.
Particularly the culture that formed the concept of juries in the first place*.
The ‘peer’ review admonishment in science has been corrupted to alienate criticism.
Making it not about scrutiny but compliance.
Hard to be judged by your peers until a new ‘globalists’ value system can be understood by the populi and facilitate fair adjudication by one’s peers.
Which can’t happen because the only globalist value is naked power.
And turning it over to AI is the perfect disguise for their naked wanton crimes.
*Anybody besides me notice how the globalist Progs have suddenly pivoted to populist rhetoric?

Sorry but that video is a pile of BS. The Australian Road rules were last updated and issued in July 2023, https://pcc.gov.au/uniform/Australian-Road-Rules-9June2023-bookmarked.pdf
There is no November 2025 edition, nor any edition between June 2023 and November 2025
Each state has their own road rules which are based on the Australian rules, and are much more comprehensive
For example: Victoria; Last Issued 30 September 2025 Version 24,
Mobile Phones: Video says – “You all know you can’t use your phone while driving, but now even touching your phone for any reason is illegal unless it’s in a fixed mounting position. That means no picking it up to move it, no touching it at red lights, no quickly checking it even if you’re pulled over on the side of the road with your engine running.” (This has always been the rule for mobile phones – nothing new here). Providing you pull over to the side of the road and park your car it’s legal to use your phone. (See below and the accompanying definition of parked.
Division 2—Operation of devices in motor vehicles 304H Operation of inbuilt devices, mounted devices and motor bike helmet devices in motor vehicles (1) Subject to subrules (2) to (5), a person in a motor vehicle must not operate an inbuilt device, a mounted device or a motor bike helmet device while the vehicle is moving or is stationary but not parked.
Rule 304F
Stationary and parked vehicles, wheeled recreational devices or electric personal transporters
(1) For the purposes of this Part, a stopped or stationary motor vehicle may be parked even though—
(a) the key to the motor vehicle is located in the motor vehicle’s ignition lock; or
(b) the engine of the motor vehicle is running.
New speed limits in school zones,
Really? The end of the month is here, have they changed the school zone speed limit signs in Victoria to 7am to 5pm from the existing 8am-9.30 and 2.30 pm to 4pm Nope…
Parking:
The video states: “Councils across Australia have introduced strict new Regulations. You cannot park within 10 meters of an intersection up from the previous three meters.”
It’s never been three meters, its always been 10 meters:
Vic Road Rule: A driver must not stop on a road within 10 metres from the nearest point of an intersecting road at an intersection without traffic lights, unless the driver stops—
(a) at a place on a length of road, or in an area, to which a parking control sign applies and
the driver is permitted to stop at that place under these Rules; or
(b) if the intersection is a T-intersection—along the continuous side of the continuing road at the intersection.
You cannot park facing against the direction of traffic on any street, even in quiet residential areas. You cannot park on nature strips or foot paths anywhere, even if everyone on your street has been doing it for years. These parking rules have always been the law.
This is like the same video that says you can now get fined for eating or drinking while driving your car which was also well and truly debunked!
