Think again, Grisha – phobia means fear, not hatred.
Then look in the mirror.
81
Gregor is generally unenthused by hostility of any sort but understands that some degree may be permissible when facing aggressive predators.
31
Exactly so Vladimir. I’ve been mystified by the use of ‘phobia’ to mean h@te; it means fear and in some cases it is a highly justified fear.
10
Oh no—this page croaked.
‘I am devastated by the consequences for us Westerners of the war waged without intelligence against Russia.’
In your own words, could you expand on that?
11
Gregor personally is less than devastated: so far, damaging economic policies(think covid) are a bigger threat.
The sentence is not clear in its meaning :which “intelligence”?
31
‘ … damaging economic policies …’
Renewables are a waste of money, as are nuclear submarines.
01
E+G,
Sure, but just wait another year or two, may be you will say that about ocean surface navy or tanks.
Looks like a $10-30M tank would be swarmed to death by a dozen drones for 5-10k each, and a $5-7B destroyer by few dozens of them.
20
My take was waging war with Russia without the intelligence to avoid it going nuclea eg. Continually threatening to give Ukraine nuclear capable missiles , that can really only be operated by the orginating country’s military then thinking/hoping Russia wont lash out if some of these come over the horizon.
40
The Tomahawks are surplus to requirement, the home grown Flamingo is doing a fantastic job. Its a race to the bottom, winter is coming and without petrol its going to be grim.
12
The Ukraine war has been an eyeopener, Australia is now producing unmanned submarines and our drones are state of the art.
Increasing rearmament is only because of fears over China, but the country is in economic strife and no match up against American military might.
The Fourth Plenum comes up in a couple of weeks and Xi asked one of the coup plotters to come and have a chat, but he wasn’t feeling well so they sent Wang Yang.
Xi had his wife and a small cluster of close associates, he asked for two more years in power then he’ll go quietly. Wang Yang presented eight points of difference and then said if you don’t resign at the Plenum then we’ll charge you with murder, we have witnesses.
Xi stood up and left the room with his entourage, my guess he will shortly retire through ill health.

A lot of excitement in the news that renewables have exceeded coal for electricity production for the first time in the first half of 2025.
Increased wind and solar generation only just managed to cover the global increase in electricity demand and fossil fuel use dropped 0.3%. Not so impressive, in fact it’s so marginal, it could merely be down to varying wind and sun conditions.

https://ember-energy.org/latest-insights/global-electricity-mid-year-insights-2025/
111
Oh joy!
Ember’s ‘renewables’ seems to include hydro – not loved by some greens -which is also weather dependent [on a longer time scale].
And China is still burning 13,200,000 tonnes of coal every day.
And that makes over 48,000,000 tonnes of CO2 every day – a cool couple of million tonnes every hour.
But the BBC get such simple pleasure out of twerking their booty for the gweens.
Auto
160
Not in the headline figures, hydro is listed separately in the summary of the increase in global electricity generation (it’s actually a small drop).

Blanket “vaccination” , at least for Covid, is over, says the CDC.
https://www.zerohedge.com/political/cdc-says-covid-19-vaccination-now-each-individual

Good
Blanket vaccination for a non-sterilizing vaccine was always an idiotic policy. It only took five years for sanity to prevail.

It’s going to be an interesting race to see which comes first, Australia’s vassalage to China, or China’s economic collapse due to demographic decline. For as much as we westerners moan about our own pending decline, our problems pale in comparison to what China is going to be facing a few decades down the road.
121
It is already mired in the problem of ageing population. The median age is around 40yo and that is when saving becomes the priority over debt for individuals.
https://ourworldindata.org/grapher/median-age
Japan’s problems were apparent more than two decades ago when median age moved above 40yo. China’s median age will surpass Japan by 2050.
Of course China’s problems are also Australia’s problem. Australia is completely reliant on China for income and manufactured goods. Who will make motor cars for Australians when China is too old.
60
LOL at the proles being allowed to have personal cars in the future Australian green utopia. It’s going to be all high-speed rail and 15 minute cities. Only the wealthy and well-connected will be allowed to own personal cars (that will probably be manufactured somewhere in Africa).
80
Australia, with its birth rate now at 1.5 per adult female and declining, is not doing that well either.
20
That is where the new immigrants come into play, being more prolific, but unfortunately they reckon having a family is a luxury they can’t afford.
10
‘China is gaining market power over Australia.’
Its a commercial matter, they want us to join BRICS and give up our dependency on the US dollar.
01
Recall when the DEI captain of an NZ Navy ship sunk it?
NZ has paid Samoa $6 million compensation for damage to their fishing grounds plus they also want the wreck removed.
140
Village elders said — Well, they would say that wouldn’t they (when there was the chance of lots of money from NZ).
81
Teach a man to fish and he can have food all year around.
Give him $6M and he’s off to the races.
181
Ought to make a brilliant artificial reef and may even improve their fishing opportunities in the long run.

I wonder how desperate Albanese is to display his idiotic “climate” policies to the world at COP31 Adelaide?
There is very tough competition with Turkey, but Australia wants to show off its woke idiotic credentials to the world and how fanatically committed we are to destroying our economy with some of the world’s most expensive electricity.
I wonder if Albanese will be offering tribute to the Turks to encourage them to back down? After all, it’s “only” taxpayer money and the Government has absolutely no inhibitions about wasting it.

Scientists discover hidden ‘Kill Switch’ created by COVID-19 virus
Scientists from the University of Oxford and the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences (CAMS) have discovered a “kill switch” in human cells that is left behind after a COVID-19 virus infection.
The team of researchers published a bombshell new study showing that spike-specific helper T cells remain in the body years after COVID-19 infection.
Alarmingly, those cells undergo a troubling transformation over time.
The research, led by Dr. Guihai Liu and Professor Tao Dong, followed patients 3–4 years after infection.
The study revealed that these CD4+ T cells not only persisted but also morphed into a more aggressive, cytotoxic form.
https://slaynews.com/news/scientists-discover-hidden-kill-switch-covid-19-virus/
Oooh, do tell! 😉
/underneath the radar – sing along
/but wait, there’s more than boring spike specific stuff …
21
I don’t like the sound of this.
From your link:
” Although the study tracked people who had natural infection, most had also received multiple Covid shots or boosters during the follow-up years.
Researchers noted that they could not separate out the effects of vaccination from infection. “

Tilly Norwood, the demise of Hollywood?
It takes a lot to be the most controversial figure in Hollywood, especially when Mel Gibson still exists. And yet somehow, in a career yet to even begin, Tilly Norwood has been inundated with scorn.
This is for the simple fact that Tilly Norwood does not exist. Despite looking like an uncanny fusion of Gal Gadot, Ana de Armas and High School Musical-era Vanessa Hudgens, Norwood is the creation of an artificial intelligence (AI) talent studio called Xicoia. And if Xicoia is to be believed, then Norwood represents the dazzling future of the film industry.

Teeth and hands look normal. AI is getting better!
Still some giveaways though, excessive sharpness and glossiness.
If she looks 30, hot and a great smile, it’s AI. 😆

From the “”real”” art (have you noticed double””) point of view it is exactly like love and Love: the buyers beware.
I approve it as long as a consumer is given a clear warning and has ability to see the difference.

Very impressive yet hard to believe. I wonder how much actual human effort was involved!

In Judith Sloan’s article in The Australian today, she mentions that only 15 of the 194 countries that are signatories to the Paris Agreement managed to submit their 2025 emissions reductions on time.
60
Only 15 interested enough to send in their lies. The rest know its all nonsense or have given up on trying to convince the USA to create more money for them.
Every Trump success hastens the decline of the UN and its influence. It is glorious to watch but I am starting to get annoyed by those in the US bragging about what Trump has already done to the globalist aspirations. Particularly when Australia’s Trump is named Pauline and not quite so eloquent as the real Trump. I have grave doubts Australia’s Pauline will make it to PM but it would be great to see her as the minister for immigration.

Canada has gone 100% communist—obey or be disconnected
Canada just crossed a line that should terrify every free nation. A new bill would let the government instantly cut off your internet, phone, and even your online banking—simply for saying the “wrong thing.”
If passed, Canada’s Industry Minister could declare your words a “threat” and erase your digital existence without warning. No court order. No appeal. And the most chilling part? It can all be done in secret—you wouldn’t even be allowed to say it happened.
