UPDATE: In a feat of public service the FBI conclusively reviewed 650,000 emails in 9 days and clears Clinton, and say they repeat their July determination which found that she was “extremely careless” with “highly classified information” and will not be charged. The Clinton’s made $57 million while Hillary was Secretary of State. Over half the people who met with Clinton paid money to the Clinton Foundation as well which has received over $2 billion in donations in total. Despite these obvious possible conflicts of interest, she used insecure private computers to email foreign leaders and companies that she arranged deals with on behalf of the USA, then destroyed 33,000 emails with Bleachbit after they were subpoenaed. The FBI is not confident there was intent to obstruct justice.

If the Clintons have been very naughty we would expect some of the patriots in the FBI and groups like the NYPD to be outraged and motivated to expose that — they risk their lives for their country and fellow citizens. That doesn’t mean the claims are true… but if the emails are incriminating, and players within both the NYPD and the FBI have copies it will be impossible to put this genie back in the bottle.

McIntyre has looked closely at the legality of deleted emails with regard to Steyn and Mann. So he was already well prepped. He remarks on an interesting case where the law was interpreted very strictly, and the DOJ attorney was none other than James Comey who is now the FBI head. The case was U.S. v Quattrone (which McIntyre discussed in detail here). He notes that in that case Quattrone sent a fairly tame email which the legal department advised against the very next day. No emails were deleted, yet Quattrone was charged with obstruction of justice, and after some years “an appeal court ruled that a trier of fact could have concluded that Quattrone acted with a “corrupt intent”. McIntyre notes that “the DOJ attorney who had found corrupt intent in Quattrone’s actions was James Comey, the present director of the FBI.”

A source close to Anthony Weiner’s legal team tells Bret Baier that it seems the laptop containing those emails was used to backup his estranged wife’s Smartphone contacts. In the process, the computer apparently backed up all of the emails as well.
There has been speculation that they might include 32K Hillary emails that had been deleted. However, it seems to me that it is far more plausible that they will turn out to include (or even be) the Huma emails from clintonemail.com, accidentally backed up prior to their deletion from the Clinton server in March 2015…

This is a repeat of the unbelievable news of two days ago, confirmation. It has not gone away. Underage sex was the new claim, for both Bill and Hilary. The idea that Hilary was the wronged wife may just be turned upside down.
However this speculation about Weiner backing up his wife’s emails does not make much sense. I cannot imagine why he would do that.
Rather I think it more likely that Weiner thought his computer was clean, wiped. After all, he had to hide his activities too. That they found his wife’s correspondence and emails points rather to the idea that it was originally her computer, not properly cleaned. So there will be a lot of Huma’s correspondence too. The NYPD and FBI are expert at finding stuff on hard discs. They have all the tools.
Hilary’s computer was wiped professionally and illegally after being subpoenaed, but the evidence was destroyed. Possibly Huma’s as well, but no one thought to check Weiner’s computer. It may have copies of all the 30,000 missing emails plus a lot more personal correspondence as Huma went everywhere Hilary went. Plus all of Weiner’s evidence as well. Jail? We are talking high treason, not just being a bit careless. Two at least would have been very familiar with the obligations of Secretary of State and secrecy provisions. Sorry will not do.

It was suggested that her phone was synched to the laptop and that is entirely plausible. Maybe Weiner knew that or maybe he discovered it after they split up.
Their separation also might explain why Huma thought she had handed over all her devices to the FBI.
Alternatively it makes sense in the light of all the incriminating stuff was in a folder named “Life Insurance” and that if he were ever to come under threat from Huma or Clinton Inc. he could let them know he has the goods on them?

I agree that the current global elites have too much power and need pegging back (too many of them are of the authoritarian left) but there is a huge difference between arrogance leading to carelessness on the one hand and criminality on the other.
I was active in the Brexit movement and helped to produce ‘Brexit The Movie’ so my non-elite credentials are sound.
It took a long time for our current elites to gain their dominance and it will take time for a new ‘elite’ to take over from them. Just being ‘the elite’ is not a failing in itself. Elites of various types led us from the stone age through the poverty and inequality of the 19th century to the relative global prosperity of the present day.
We need to gradually encourage and cultivate a new type of politician.
Such persons need to be non-authoritarian and yet find some sort of balance between the raw economic power of capitalism and the need to protect the unfortunate without encouraging the feckless, lazy and manipulative types who try to subsist on the back of others.
I despair of Clinton and her ilk but am also wary of Trump who needs to become far more educated and humble if he is to govern a nation as influential as the USA.
Ideally, the USA electoral system should provide the option of ‘neither of the above’ so that the present election can be scrapped and a new election scheduled with two more balanced personalities. Sadly, no chance of that.
On balance I’d take the risk of Trump to break the current paradigm, hope that his advisors bring him under control, and await a more proficient, cultured individual at the end of Trump’s term of office.
I’d like Trump to establish a better relationship with Putin but keep NATO strong and influential. In parallel, NATO must learn to accept that further eastward expansion into regions important to Russia is unwise and counterproductive.
The EU needs to be abandoned altogether as a significant global player.
Co-operating with Russia to stem the Middle East conflagration seems to me to be a priority even if Russia’s military brutality is anathema to our own relatively restrained military methods.
I don’t see Putin as the sort of chap who would wish to spend Russian blood and wealth on invading East European nations who would resist occupation vigorously. He has no more stomach for holding down hostile populations in the long term than we would. His people would rebel as a result of the ever increasing flow of body bags to Moscow.

As I showed in another thread. INTENT is not part of the law Clinton broke. All that is required is the removal of classified material from a secure setting. For example some young guy took pictures of himself while on a nuclear sub with the equipment in the background. He had no INTENT on selling those pictures. He just wanted documentation to show his future children and grandchildren. The guy brought up Hillary Clinton’s “NO INTENT” at his trial and was told he was going to jail anyway.

There’s no one ready to give testament to the validity of the emails and what they really say or mean. Apparently the people mentioned in the emails have no reply, people appearing in the images offer no explanation.
Unless there is real reliable evidence little can be done.
However as this unverified email information (and the interpretation of it) becomes wider known all who are implicated will feel the public pressure to explain and clear their name.

When it comes to classified material, carelessness that results in possible divulgence IS criminal for the members of the US military, and those employed by the agencies, and departments which handle, use, or generate that material. However it seems that classified material mishandled or even intentionally broadcast or leaked by politicians is somehow less damaging because they never get prosecuted. I can’t name one US politician that has been prosecuted in my 61 year life time for such transgressions. Yet I have seen Army officers lose their clearances due to illicit affairs because of the potential for blackmail. This is one of the problems created by a biased MSM.
One can no longer get the news from MSM. It is more views than news. The BBC (the UK state broadcaster) spends most of its time interviewing its own correspondents/employees and presenting their opinions as if that was factual news. On top of that is editorial bias. The editors decide what to report on, and what not to reprot on. They also decide the slant to any report they want to make. There is no independent investigative journalism these days.
As such MSM is becoming an irrelevance, and people are relying on the internet for news. But that too is angerous since much of what is on the internet is not fact, and has not been properly checked.

This has been making the rounds. It’s become difficult to find time enough to try to verify everything. But apparently something did force the FBI’s hand. And this is as credible as anything else I’ve seen. I get email by the ton with all sorts of theories and little green Martians are about the only thing I haven’t seen (exaggerated but not very much).
I have suspected that the Clinton email server was going to be the biggest scandal of the century rivaled only by the Clinton Foundation.
Right about now it would be good if someone like Rudy Giuliani, who was a very good Federal Prosecutor, could be appointed Special Prosecutor to look into all things Clinton, starting from A and going straight through to Z. With subpoena power he could unravel this mess easily enough. The threat of jail is overwhelming if applied by someone who knows what he’s doing and has the reputation Giuliani has.

Florida is a swing state and important because the demographics reflect that of the USA. Also it has citizens from every state.

A hacker armed with a $25 PCMCIA card can, within a few minutes, change the vote totals on an aging electronic voting machine that is now in limited use in 13 U.S. states, a cybersecurity vendor has demonstrated.
The hack by security vendor Cylance — which released a video (LINK) of it Friday — caught the attention (LINK) of noted National Security Agency leaker Edward Snowden, but other critics of e-voting security dismissed the vulnerability as nothing new…

The Sequoia AVC Edge Mk1 e-voting machine targeted by Cylance is used by some voting precincts in potential presidential swing states Florida, Arizona, Pennsylvania, Colorado, Nevada, and Wisconsin. The machine is used statewide in Nevada and used widely in Wisconsin, but both states have post-election audit procedures in place, Verified Voting’s Smith said.
In other states, including Florida and Colorado, the machines are used only in a handful of locations for voters with special accessibility requirements. Pennslyvania uses the machine in just one county, Smith said.
In the Cylance hack, a PCMCIA card, programmed with the hacker’s desired vote totals, can be inserted into a slot on the Sequoia AVC machine. The hacker can then change the vote totals, and even the candidates’ names, Cylance demonstrated…

With still over a day to go until the earliest possible result from tomorrow’s presidential election, a part of the blogosphere and conservative media was up in arms over a commemorative Newsweek cover depicting “Madam President” which appeared in print as early as Saturday.
As Infowars reported, a Twitter user who works at a bookstore tweeted the images with the comment, “I work at a bookstore and we typically get magazines early and lookie what we got here.” and then adds that “her Twitter account was subsequently deleted after reporter Luke Costin chastised her for “fueling Trumpists’ hysteria about “rigged” #Election2016.”…
We were initially skeptical: the more likely – and innocent – explanation was that Newsweek had simply prepared not one but two commemorative editions as a contingency, one in case Hillary wins, the other profiling a Trump victory, so they are ready to be distributed bright and early on Wednesday morning. And, we would expect, both editions would have already been printed and ready for pick up…
To an extent, some of this skepticism was allayed on Monday afternoon when CNN on Monday afternoon asked Newsweek editor Jim Impoco to comment on the cover flap, who responded simply: By sending a picture of the President Trump version of the cover…
As CNN explains to its slower readers, “this is the media version of World Series keepsakes that were on sale in Cleveland and Chicago last week. Street vendors printed “Cubs win” and “Indians win” T-shirts, then trashed the Indians shirts after the Cubs won Game 7.”
There is just one very notable difference: in the case of the World Series, there were two sets of shirts created. However, in the case of the infamous Newsweek special edition, the publishing company Topix, decided to print just one.
Guess which.
And this is where the “business decision” came in: according to CNN, “Topix made a business decision to only print the Clinton version ahead of time given that she is almost universally favored to win the election on Tuesday.”
And the punchline:
“If Trump wins, the Clinton copies will be trashed and the Trump version will be rushed to the printing presses — a simple business calculation, Romando said.”
Yet inversely, if Hillary wins there will be no need to trash the Trump version as one simply has not been created, while the Clinton edition will have already been distributed and just waiting to be bought…
