The Yanks are learning the downside of expensive, sophisticated weaponry… It can all be defeated by far more numerous cheaper weapons that can be mass-produced quickly. Once Russia gave Iran the targeting for the American radar installations the whole game changed, and America cannot produce enough interceptor missiles fast enough to stop cheap Iranian missiles getting through.
How long before Trump declares victory and retreats to save face?
1119
But did nobody explain to the Stable Genius that China and Russia had Iran’s back?
513
AI says that China and Russia are backing Iran. But says there are limits.
Does not specify those limits.
11
The U.S. has burned through over $2.4 Billion worth of Patriot Missile Interceptors in just five days of war with Iran.
https://militarywatchmagazine.com/article/us-patriot-interceptors-five-days-iran
Well, the latest war is offsetting all DOGE gains nicely!
Global oil crisis incoming.
Prados and Lancruisers will be cheap.
83
An incredibly false statement. The horror show which is the mullahs is being obliterated in one of the most overpowering military operations ever. Trump is doing what no other US POTUS dared to do: taking out an eschatological, misanthropic pack of fanatics. God bless Trump and the Iranian/Persian people who are supporting Trump; unlike the pro Palestinian hypocrites.
356
Lol. You’re in for a wake up call.
You think they’re just going to submit and go quietly into the night?
Every respectable analysis available says the opposite.
Just like every other war the US started.
57
The fanatics are the people who despite all the evidence want to destroy Iran just because Israel wants them destroyed. The same with Palestine. A land stolen from its people by religious nutters clapping on death and destruction and claiming to be “Christian”.
38
A land stolen from its people by religious nutters clapping on death and destruction and claiming to be “Christian”.
A land stolen from its people by religious nutters wanting to have the death and destruction of the return of the Mahdi (world wide conversion) and claiming to be “the one true religion”.
The Chinese won. May you live in interesting times.
Alas Armageddon or similar seems the goal of too many religious fundamentalists.

I asked Grok: View in the Grok app
is this report on substack verifiable?
The reply was essentially that the first part is heavily overstated and the rest is fabricated. The author riutinely favours Russia and Iran vs USA.
21
Did you ask Grok about the entire Western MSM? anything factual that talks about real losses is easily dismissed as propaganda by opposing propaganda outlets.
50
Grok can only spout the consensus based on the frequency of publication of the consensus. Not useful in matters of opinion.
70
I asked Grok what I said I asked Grok. No more, no less.
10
Try asking your preferred ai if Iran has plenty of missiles and drones.
The ai in my iPad seems to read Simplicius.
🙂
00
Me: Does Iran have plenty of missiles and drones? (Brief answer please).
Grok: Yes. Iran has one of the largest ballistic missile arsenals in the Middle East (recent estimates ~2,500, despite losses and ongoing conflict) and a much bigger stockpile of drones (thousands, with rapid/cheap production like Shaheds—already fired 2,000+ in recent fighting).
– – –
I can ask a follow-up question if you like (and if I come back to this page).
00
Which is sadder: That you so lack in critical thinking skills and the ability to search the internet to the point of asking an LLM if something is true, or that you equally uncritically believe the output?
Long term participants in this forum will note that asking Grok about Climate Change gives you chapter and verse support of AGW…
50
The propaganda war is running 100% on both sides. They don’t call it the Fog of War for nothing.
If you only get AGW believer junk from an AI, you are asking it the wrong questions.
80
We need to refine our questions, for example, did an increase in CO2 cause the Holocene Climate Optimum?
Focus on paleo climate history questions.
31
I asked how we know that the current warm period is not natural variability.
Try it.
And what is the correct answer?
10
Its too subjective.
How about, did an increase in CO2 cause the Minoan Warm Period, Roman Warm Period and Medieval Warm Period?
30
As I have stated a number of times, particularly in articles and comments on WattsUpWithThat, I am well aware that Grok tends to repeat the mainstream view and that you need to know how to get around that to reach other views. However, in this case it was pretty obvious that the cited report was heavily biased and I asked Grok an unloaded question to see if Grok picked it. Grok actually came up with quite a detailed analysis which showed pretty conclusively that the article was a fabric of lies built around a grain of truth. You and everyone else are of course free to do your own analysis or AI questioning.
11
AI says whatever those who control the AI want it to say. The only difference between a search engine, is that AI takes the same filtered results and presents in a way that fools more people.
I don’t use AI … which like all “smart technology” is only “smart” in comparison to the people who use it.
32
Mike,
While you and I differ on some topics, with me being more optimistic about scientific deductions, I do agree with you when you say that you don’t use AI.
I use it only to speed up calculations where it is reasonable to expect that there is a knowable answer that several different AI engines agree on.
AI does not seem to be following the Scientific Method as regards several questions I have put to it. Geoff S

The growing support for One Nation in Australia is indicative of individuals standing up to all the woke UN stooges promoting globalism.
The Australian electorate have no voice under Labor or LNP. The UN has been running Australian government policy for more than 3 decades now.
1. Australia is a major promoter of the UN Climate Change™ scam.
2. Australia signed up to UN no borders creating h=uge intake of religious zealots.
3. Australia has embraced apartheid by signing up to UN First Nation treaties.
4. Australia has adopted the UN Net Zero energy policy that promotes Chinese made solar panels, batteries, bird mincers, BEVs and all the other stuff needed to make this stuff serve a purpose.
5. Australia is a leader in adopting UN policy to gag free speech in order to promote globalist propaganda.
6. Australia is leading UN policy on disarming citizens – not even UN has taking this on yet.
670
Australian policy is controlled by China on both sides. Politicians are cheap. 2/3 of Australians did not vote Labor. 2/3 of Australians voted NO to YES. But all branches of government and businesses voted YES.
470
On Sky last week programme on the US, a regular broadcast and an Australian-American presenter-journalist James Morrow, an interview with a guest in the US revealed that China (and Iran and others) propaganda departments have people in countries they want to influence, street demonstration “rent-a-crowd” are organised by the puppets and funding is provided, note the professional signage displayed.
Consider recently here the “Free Palestine” campaign after 7 October 2023 invasion by Hamas of Israel and the massacres yet the left claimed that Israel are the aggressors.
Not yet that vocal are the pro-Iran and anti-Israel and US campaigners and no doubt the same organisers behind it including a proud to be far left socialist Australian with ambitions now to form a political party with candidates for election to Parliament.
Propaganda has of course is not a new tactic but is crafted to undermine societies and cause damage within societies.
280
The fifth column has no influence in Australia, but of course the disinformation Bill can be quickly pulled out of the bottom drawn and passed by acclimation on the same day.
17
It’s a bit rich for anyone whose inner thoughts and discussions are being monitored via Whatsapp, X, gmail and all the other US socia media which is all monitored to see what everyone is saying (and how to “nudge” them toward whatever war the US-Irael wants next) to the comment about China or Russia “spying” on them.
The US is not just spying but actively manipulating everyone who uses them.
31
If Australian policy was actually controlled by China, then AUKUS wouldn’t have happened….
You need to look elsewhere for the string pullers.
60
It’s a form of controlled opposition. Aukus presents no threat to China because it isn’t really about defence but providing a vehicle for yet more government spending. It’s the military equivalent of Snowy 2.
The CCP are happy for Australia to appear as though it isn’t under their influence – for now. Besides, our intelligence and security apparatus is so woeful, Aukus is probably providing a priceless trove of tech secrets to China. For them, what’s not to like about a project that may never get finished but will, on the way to nowhere, feed them vital info on current tech development?
83
When I look at this list, it is easy to admire the foresight of the creators of the US constitution.
It is no wonder oppressive regimes hate the USA.
Women of Iranian heritage are the most vocal in support of the US effort to annihilate the cleric class in Iran.
Of the thousands of clerics in Iran, none is female and none identify as female!
380
Did you watch the broadcast recently showing Presidential Candidate Senator Hillary Clinton promising that if elected she would arrange US Military intervention in Iran?
And that at that time Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi told US media that Senator Clinton could carry out her threat legally, within constitutional law?
150
BUT, i the horrendous event Shrillary gets the gig, what chance she or her Handlers would actually go through with it?
The smoke and mirrors the intense with that lot.
20
I agree with your summary however with reservations being that Australia’s primary objective must be to get rid of Greens, and Labor Government disaster for Australia over almost four years to date and time remaining probably worsening situation to election in 2028.
* One Nation’s only success was in Queensland State from late 1990s when they secured several state electore seats, early 2000s I moved to a retirement location while retaining property in New South Wales and travelling back and forth. The local One Nation State MP was well liked and when I met him I did too. After two terms One Nation lost ground and seat numbers held and never recovered.
* Until recently they had no House of Representatives MP in Canberra until former National Party Leader and for a while Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce decided to cross to join One Nation. His reasons, I understand, were internal National Party politics and dissatisfaction with the present leaders. And I understand, the Nationals have also been impacted by the Liberal side new left steadily gaining influence since 2007 and until recently when the vote for Liberal Leader selected Angus Taylor by a two-thirds of Liberal MP majority. Since 2007 the changes have been carried out on very narrow margins.
One Nation have Senators only and while very vocal at times remains a small party of Greens equivalent in numbers of votes received at elections plus and minus compared.
To get from one only House of Representatives MP to the number needed even to form the major opposition side is mission impossible I believe as an experienced and keen observer who has had the advantage of learning from people who are Psephologists who understand how to calculate based on electorate voting trends to assess boundary changes and possible election outcomes. I am not that skilled.
* The compulsory preferential voting system is most likely in 2028 to again favour Labor, in 2022 they received their lowest primary vote since 1934 but gained the seats needed to form government. At the 2025 election Labor’s primary vote did not improve by much and they still did vert well and added many more electorate seats, just under 34% primary vote and only 8 Labor candidates elected on primary votes alone before preference distribution.
One Nation according to what Pauline Hanson is saying and some candidates, are still attacking Liberal National yet One Nation is the smaller third centre/centre right party. They are not prepared to preference ([2] down Liberal or National candidates. If One Nation was determined to get rid of Albanese Labor they would be seeking similar minded larger party success.
* The sometimes hinted at but rarely admitted is that One Nation is following the Australian Democrats model (former Liberal Don Chipp – “keep the bastards honest” and agent is Senate balance of power not forming government. Maybe government in future election years beyond 2028 depending on House of Representatives numbers growing from 2028 election? And therefore voters need to concentrate on removal of Labor Government first and foremost and the Greens that they rely on for support and the unions provide donation funding.
* My votes will put Labor last, Green second last above Labor and Teal climate politics wealth creation vested interests backed the position above Greens.
72
Preferential voting in Australia is a system where voters rank candidates in order of preference on their ballot paper. This method ensures that votes are counted in a way that reflects the majority’s choice, as votes can be redistributed from eliminated candidates to those still in the running until a candidate achieves a majority.
20
To this day, there is STILL not a valid option of a formal vote for “No suitable candidate has been presented”, i.e., NONE OF THE ABOVE!
Currently voting “informal” (blank or improperly marked ballot) is pretty much pointless, until such time that “Informal” is a valid vote. There are regular occurrences of ballot counts coming up “short” against the tally of “issued” pares. Sometimes, a thorough search of all the rubbish bins in and around the gazetted polling place turns up some of the “missing” papers.
It could get really interesting if the ballot paper count EXCEEDS the quantity issued. Fairly difficult to do but a well trained “group” might try it; risking a wee chat with the AFP The industrial scale “creativity” witnessed in recent US elections is probably more difficult to run, here in the penal Colonies, but I would be surprised of “nobody’ has “war-gamed” it.
Anyone feel like raising an “Informal” Party?
21
One Nation is not there to keep the Bs honest. Pauline Hanson and Malcolm Roberts have consistently pushed against the UN globalist agenda,
The best thing for Australia is to reduce the number of government bureaucracy. Productivity can be improved over night by running coal plants flat out. Set an accelerated time line to get rid of all the nonsense around burning carbon.
400
How dare you!
40
Aspirations as compared to being in government and with support from enough other party or independent like minded MPs converting that into reality.
One Nation cannot achieve the numbers needed even to form the major opposition party, don’t allow them to lure you into a sense of false security believing One Nation has what it takes, as compared to what One Nation believe in as centre/centre right positioned and therefore should be working with Liberal-National-LNP
26
LNP are globalist stooges. Look at what Turnbull did and then Morrison. Turnbull driving the climate band wagon and Morrison going along for the ride..
180
Yep.
The value of an ON vote lies in the middle finger-in-the-air to the Uniparty.
Of course ON cannot form a Govt, but several elections of high ON votes will cause sufficient irritation to the Uniparty that poicies will improve significantly.
40
One Nation for me.
The 2 majors aren’t worth looking at.
161
Pauline Hanson has confirmed time and time again that her aim is to hold Senate balance of power to influence House of Representatives legislation passed there and needing Senate to pass the Bill.
That was the Australian Democrats (Don Chipp) game plan too, and his keep the bastards honest is not One Nation, as yet !!!
20
Rick,
“The best thing for Australia is to reduce the number of government bureaucracy”.
Say it again, this way –
THE BEST THING FOR AUSTRALIA IS TO REDUCE THE NUMBER OF GOVERNMENT BUREAUCRACY.
The current ratio of unproductive paid employees to productive paid employees is the worst by far that I can recall seeing, since about 1960 when I started to notice. Much of my career time 1960 to 1990 was spent objecting to the nature and abundance of unproductive people paid to tell me what I could and could not do, which I resisted to the extent of taking them before our High Court several times.
That option remains open but under used by current Aussie citizens who think about our future. The lack of enthusiasm and knowledge is frightening. Just lie down and let steam rollers run over you? Not my style, thanks.

Your comment is basically correct. But the reluctance of One Nation to not preference the Libs is not a one way street with the Libs continually not just NOT preferencing One Nation but also putting them last after the Greens! It is this discordancy between 2 ostensible conservative parties which is the problem. But I query whether the Libs are a conservative party any more. Remember it was the Libs who initiated and facilitated all the Global Boiling and ruinable nonsense and even today are very hesitant to come out and state plainly that global boiling is a failed theory and ruinables are a disaster. For that reason alone, and given One Nation says openly that global boiling is a scam and ruinables a disaster they must be preferred. I just don’t think the public have reached that understanding yet and that explains the increase in One Nation but also that the comprehensive increase necessary for One Nation to replace the Libs, which they must do, has not been achieved yet.
And good on BJ for going to One Nation. And I wish Jacinta would follow him.
130
I don’t think there is any question about the Liberal party’s position on the political scale. They are without doubt centre left, if not outright leftist. This is determined by what they DO rather than what they say. Parliament is theatre, as is the nonsense we see on TV and in the MSM. They’re little more than footy teams in suits.
Based on their actual ‘accomplishments’, the Libs are very definitely Labor Lite.
70
The way the Government exercises unelected extra-territorial UN governance, something which TRUMP is strongly opposed to, is via UN policies and treaties, something the Australian people have no say in.
The rot really set in after the Tasmanian Dams Case of 1983 when the High Court ruled that the Commonwealth could invoke its constitutional external affairs power (s 51(xxix)) to pass legislation based on external UN and other treaties and agreements.
This paved the way for extraterritorial governance of Australia by every communist idea the UN or anyone else puts up.
And Australia desperately wanting international recognition for its supposed virtue established a fanatical commitment to any and all UN agreements and treaties.
To this day, nearly half a century later it is prepared (all Uniparty governments) to govern the country by external treaty, not the wishes of the people, no matter how self-destructive these policies are.
It was a hugely damaging decision as far as Australian sovereignty goes.
It’s good to see TRUMP disengaging from these external treaties and agreements for the benefit of his country. The Lib/Lab/Green/Teal Uniparty don’t care, only One Nation and other minor conservative parties care.
170
Julia Bishop of the fake conservative Liberal Party had an obsession with a new trendy phrase the public serpents who told her what to think would say from about 2018.
She called for implementation of the “rules-based international order” which sounds reasonable enough but the reality is rule by UN decree.
Gulag AI, referencing Wikipedia and a YouTube video says:
50
I realise we all seem to hate the UN here, but the UN Charter is quite a reasonable basis for international rules and behaviour , its sort of what it was intended to be.
Sadly it is broadly ignored as it gets in the way of international ambitions, and the UN itself has grown into a giant self serving bureaucratic tentacled monster.
A large reset is required.
130
The Untidy Notions was BENT from the start. See FDR and Stalin as “leading lights”.
Churchill may have been a crusty old bastard, but with actual combat experience, recovery from “blunders and being immensely knowledgeable, (without recourse to Wonkypedia). The entire “Korean War” was a VERY close-run thing that is STILL bubbling away.
Best feature is the endless visceral hatred of Churchill by the usual psychotic suspects. It makes it easier to “log” the REAL loonies.
72
Laws governing things like free speech are fine in principle. What matters is how they are applied. The UN, like ‘hate speech’ law, is simply a vehicle for the left to implement its agenda.
Of course, the framework of laws and acceptable process we all supposedly live by, hijacked by the left and used to crush opponents, can be turned against them in a ‘fight fire with fire’ strategy. So far though, the only person willing to do so is Donald Trump.
30
Silly Jess from Victoria’s Liberals is pushing for hate speech laws. The former Soviet Union was the entity that introduced the concept of hate speech laws. Jess white anted the good opposition leader then has started to back the left’s policies 🙁
20
DM,
Yes, I was involved in several days when some main Labor reps and their lawyers to the left and the main Liberal/National people and their lawyers to the right were to spend a few days of conviviality isolated in Darwin.
Of course, in Darwin people drink too much and often say too much after hours.
You say above that “And Australia desperately wanting international recognition for its supposed virtue established a fanatical commitment to any and all UN agreements and treaties.”
I was rather surprised to find that all of the lawyers except one (Conti QC) gave the United nations a reverence so strong that they were not inclined to challenge it.
It seems that the reverence continues, though I know not why. The UN has utterly failed in its main purpose (to prevent war) and has been so greasy in its mission creep items. The reverence is inexplicable. It also extends to most judges, as far as I can tell. Geoff S

Allow me to reverse that:

Here’s yet another one in the category “just when you thought the Left couldn’t get any more insane they manage to outdo themselves”.
Because of disease or damage to Caribbean coral reefs they want to transplant coral from Australia and surrounding areas and plant it in the Carribean.
Carribean corals have been genetically isolated from the rest of the world ever since the Isthmus of Panama closed millions of years ago.
It’s sad that some self-identified “scientists” are willing to participate in this mad scheme.
What could possibly go wrong?
Prof. Peter Ridd discusses:
https://youtu.be/I9vqHbMtWOI
190
And here was I thinking that Aust coral reefs are ‘cactus’.
140
They are heavily degraded in spite of what Ridd tells you.
220
The Great Barrier Reef is of course living and goes through birth to death cycles in patches, and Professor Ridd and Doctor Jennifer Marohasy have acknowledged it when talking about the general good health of the GBR.
130
Neither Ridd nor Marohasy are old enough to have seen the GBR in all it’s pre COT glory. I am, I did.
215
When I visited the GBR in 1961 one of the “glamour spots” was not on the agenda.
The leading hand (sorry, don’t know Naval speak) “mentioned it had gone white, something that happened sometimes, but it would be back in 1-2 years”.
At least I got to see it before the GBR died in 1971 (SMH, then an authoritative paper) mentioned the GBR would all be dead by Christmas (and blaming humans).
160
‘ … pre COT …’
This particular species has been around for a million years.
‘There have been four documented COTs outbreaks on the Great Barrier Reef since the 1960s, the most recent of which began in 2010 and is still being managed.
‘According to studies, cyclic outbreaks occur roughly every 17 years, making the current outbreak ahead of time.’ (ABC)
00
Just guessing that the outbreaks subside as the predator population expands as a result of the increase in their food source, other things being equal.
10
The 17 year cycle might be a solar signal?
The COT likes hard coral, so they’ll go elsewhere when the food runs out.
00
Oh come on Hanrahan,
I believe that you believe that assertions are better when references are given.
How about a link or two about the state of the GBR?
I have not been there since the 1970s.
Few people, a tiny % of the population, ever get to see the Outer Reef at all. It takes time and expense, it is not cheap to do. Few researchers seem to get familiar with the whole reef.
Many people including some researchers get to see non-representative fringing reefs close to shore around a few islands and assume that the main reef is similar. It is not. It is huge and hard to damage.
Geoff S
10
You’ve identified the question which zealots never ask. What could possibly go wrong?
Thank goodness for Peter Ridd and the voice of reason.
200
Dunno. Ask the cane toads?
40
Perhaps interestingly, after spreading across the tropics unchallenged and doing all sorts of damage, there are apparently signs that some birds have learned to flip them over and then attack.
But yes. That’s exhibit 1 about what could possibly go wrong.
20
Why was condensed milk invented?
https://youtu.be/SJTGPeJWh3E
00
Simple things and the evolution of government control over everything.
So, back in the day sweetened condensed milk was packed in cans that were not conventionally sealed with soldered seams and rubber gasketed ends. These cans were just formed and filled, the condensed milk seeped into all the joints and voila the can was airtight with a shelf life of years. Enter the regulators. But first a bit of history. The “tin” or “can” was in fact a “Tinned canister” produced by dipping sheets of steel into a tinning bath to allow the canister to be soldered with lead solder and prevent rusting. Condensed milk cans did not need soldering so were cheaper to produce. Then the controllers get alarmed at crystalline bits of sugar in the seam area hence “all cans must be soldered” only added expense by hey the government is in control. Fast forward a few decades, the regulators are alarmed at the lead up take in canned produces because of the soldered seams.
Not so much a problem with milk as with the high acid products like tomato soup and pineapple but when the net is cast, cast it as far as possible. Now cans had a very heavy tin coating to protect the steel from corrosion, but hey, canned products also took up tin, Not such a real problem but needing control, enter the can lined with flexible liners and welded side seams. All the problems are solved right. Well NO, enter the villain BPA, those flexible can liners have the forever chemical BPA with significant knock on health concerns, oh well. I’m sure there is another high tech solution for a problem that never existed in the first place.

Astaxanthin is promoted as a powerful dietary supplement with strong antioxidant and anti-ageing properties. It’s the substance that gives salmon flesh and various crustaceans and other marine organisms their pinkish-red colour. Thoughts?
40
Ask a flamingo how they feel?
60
Prawns are only red after they have been cooked. More research needed.
40
When prawns (shrimp) or lobsters are uncooked the astaxanthin is bound to a protein called crustacyanin. That protein-pigment complex masks the red astaxanthin colour and creates a blue or olive-green colour. When the prawns or lobsters are cooked the crustacyanin is denatured and the heat-stable astaxanthin is released from its bound state making the shell red.

And then there is the remarkable B-52. From Grok:
The Boeing B-52 Stratofortress (affectionately nicknamed the “BUFF” for Big Ugly Fat Fellow) is legendary for its longevity, and yes — it’s on track to achieve something unprecedented in military aviation: flying for a full century in continuous service. First flown in 1952 and entering operational service in 1955, the B-52 has already surpassed 70 years of active USAF duty as of 2025. The current fleet consists of B-52H models, built between 1961 and 1962, making the youngest ones around 64 years old today. The U.S. Air Force has no plans to retire them soon.
Every time I think of the B-52 it reminds me that it’s time to watch the hilarious movie Dr Strangelove again.
120
And the B-52’s are soon getting a mid-life engine upgrade which should see them flying for another 60-70 years or so.
100
I saw some information about the B-52’s power requirements:
It has 8 turbo jet engines, each producing 10,000 lbs of thrust for a total of 80k. The F-16 Viper has 29,000 lbs of thrust in full burner. A 787 requires 160,000 lbs of thrust, twice the B-52’s output, and get’s it from two modern turbofan engines.
Now think about that when applied to the idea of an electric airliner, and replacing hydrocarbon fuels…
130
It was the 90th anniversary of the maiden flight of the Spitfire a day or 2 ago. The film ‘the first of the few’ is well worth a watch, although it’s very much of its time and a bit naff in places.
70
A bit like turbine upgrades on the DC3, except the B52s will look less odd.

Where is the meme of the Ayatollah riding the bomb a la Slim Pickens?
Speaking of memes this week’s Powerline was a goldmine.

The Ayatollah died
Will there be a BAytollah next to die
And then a CAytollah

Apparently the Ayatollah’s wife was very disobedient.
“Ayatollah but she no listen” he often said…

He was a holy man equivalent to the pope. He should have been treated with the same respect.
Instead is sacrifice … openly accepting martyrdom by not going to safety as was suggested … has turned him into an icon of defiance which makes it impossible for the Zionists to win.
The war was lost on the first strike … and that was why he was happy to lay down his life.
03
Mike,
Are you talking of respect for the person, or respect for the position?
I suspect that we disagree that respect should be accorded to either.
This happens because I have rejected for the last 60 years the concept that religion is truthful, necessary or a positive contribution to the lives of ordinary people like me.
View it through the lens of religious involvement in many past wars. It has been the cause of more wars than any other factor I know. Religion is yet another pyramid where the vast lower levels become poorer and the upper few get filthy rich. What is good about that?

Extra heavy duty bomb trucks that fly

The problem with the Herky bird is that it is a brilliant 75 year old design that limits what the users can put in it.
In the 1970s the US developed 2 possible replacements, one of which was then the basis for the C-17.
The other should have been put into production in the 1980s to replace the C-130.
It was faster, longer ranged, used less fuel, could get into and out of even smaller strips than the C-130, and carry much bigger loads, both in mass and cube.
The size of the C-130 causes all sorts of problems for users who want to transport more modern vehicles because the simply won’t fit and even if they did it couldn’t get them off the ground.
This leads to less survivable ground combat vehicles and less useful other equipment.

Brief comments about possible cancer treatment.
Video: https://youtu.be/mTgRc9Qj_lQ
IMM-101 is an immunontherapy similar to BCG except it uses heat-killed Mycobacterium obuense.
BCG (Bacillus Calmette-Guérin) is a type of Immunotherapy for bladder cancer based on a live strain of Mycobacterium bovis used for bladder cancer and for vaccination for TB.
IMM-101 was being investigated to protect cancer patients from covid before the “vaccination” was available but research was mostly abandoned after the mRNA substance becane available even though an incidental benefit of IMM-101 was regression of the cancers.

About 20 years ago I returned to my small Southern home town because my mother was being treated for Mesothelioma.
I went to the chemo treatment center to meet with her doctor.
The center was huge and sparkling new with a massive multi windowed waiting area where probably a hundred oldsters sat waiting for their chemicals.
The cancer treatment facility was built on a former farm field where in the early 70s I had watched a woman in a ankle length gingham dress with a bonnet plowing a field with a mule.
In my youth my town depended on textile production and tobacco.
Now the main employers are the treatment center and a medical testing corporation.
I’m not holding my breath for cancer cures.
Remember when we could use vaccination and immunization interchangeably without being labeled a conspiracy theorist?

John Campbell and Angus Dalgleish have been talking about IMM101 for several years now.
Dalgleish says it was very looking very promising in cancer trials.
Yet the trials were terminated and IMM 101 became unavailable. Which is strange.
No explanation so far.
BCG is still available but Dalgleish does not seem to have pursued that any further.

Jacinta Nampijinpa Price charged taxpayers to fly husband to CPAC where she railed against government spending – you can’t make this up
427
Not a good look but it was permitted under the politicians family travel entitlement.
I notice you forgot to mention Labor ministers Don Farrell and Anika Wells used the same entitlement to fly their spouses to the AFL grand final where they received free tickets.
Despite the apparent hypocrisy, I think Price attending CPAC and discussing reduction of government spending was far more productive than the Labor ministers flying themselves and spouses to a football game which was no more than vacuous entertainment for the masses with no intellectual element whatsoever.
Current Australian Government debt, federal, state and local now $2.246 trillion.

Ah, you can add another $34billion to that DM, our woke Govt in NSW is pouring that into ruinable projects because its not all happening fast enough.

During the past week Premier Chris Minns told journalists that wind and solar installation owned by shareholder in companies and leasing land from the owners are a risky proposition despite farm incomes being boosted for rent on land leased. That the risk is that when the assets have reached replacement timing, up to 25 years, the owners will walk away and leave stranded useless assets in a company structure that has no cash to pay for removal costs.
I understand that removal costs only average $500,000 to $700,000 2024/25 estimate.
Consider one of the oldest in NSW being Capital Hill Wind Farm, 67 wind turbines installed (Installed combined Capacity 140MW).

Maybe back to the base question , why is it an ” entitlement”?
Plenty of people demanding jobs that take them away from family. Where is the parity and reasonableness when compared with the real world. Nobody will say it but it is basically snout in the trough gold plating which should be regarded as a taxable benefit.

Thanks for the links provided.
It shows Hungarian anti-terrorist unit arresting uniformed employees of the Ukrainian state-owned bank Oschadbank, who were transporting valuables from the Raiffeisen Vienna bank in two armoured vehicles. As such they could not leave Austria without all EU-approved documentation / approval.
Also, according to Hungarian authorities themselves, it was a part of routine cash and gold shipments.
They stated that in 2026 alone the following had already moved across Hungary toward Ukraine: over $900 million (USD), about €420 million (EUR), around 146 kg of gold bars.
Leaving politics aside where is the promised link to Mafia and Ukrainian Nazis?
Oh, yes ! Where and when Zelenskyy Threatened to Send Ukraine Special Forces to Assassinate Orban ?
Precisely what he said (very wrongly in my view) :
We hope no one blocks the €90 billion so our soldiers get weapons, otherwise we will give this person’s address to our armed forces, and they will call him and speak to him in their own language.
Please pay attention here – unlike English “call him” in both Russian and Ukrainian language means only one thing – “to ring”, never “to knock on your door” !
23
As in English, call him = ring/speak ; call on him = “knock on his door”.

Volcanic activity generally produces cooling.
10
Depends on the sort of activity.
When a volcano goes bang in a big way and spews lots of particulates into the atmosphere it will cool things.
If it is under water and sends a lot of water up there you get several hot years.
If, however, it is lots of pyroclastic flows of the type you get out of Muana Loa on Hawaii’s big island, you simply get a lot of heat.
11
Have the volcanic activity in Antarctica been looked at recently?
Warming/heating there might have side effects.

A prestigious New York City hospital has now banned transgender procedures on children and a surgeon, who was a trainee when he did them, apologises for his involvement.
https://www.youtube.com/live/2_GZXDGjThc
I would think many hospitals will be banning these barbaric procedures on children as successful lawsuits devastate the finances of hospitals, frankensurgeons and their insurance companies.
In addition, TRUMP is also withdrawing funding from any institutions that practice these mutilations.
100
I know that transgender is the official term but there really is no such thing.
Your use of the word mutilation is correct.

Johns Hopkins Hospital did transition surgery for 30 years, from the mid ’60s to the mid ’90s, and had extensive follow up with all their patients because they need to be medically and psychologically monitored for their health and safety for the rest of their lives. Turns out that there were no differences in psychological profiles and massively degraded health across the board, so they stopped doing them.
Then in the mid ’90s the surgical team was told from on high that they were to start doing them again, no matter what their objections.
They all walked away after making their objections strongly known, producing the 30 years worth of evidence that proved they were right, and having their objections ignored.
The management at Johns Hopkins simply brought in other people who were willing to put their Hippocratic Oath and medical ethics aside for the money and the guaranteed, lifetime patients.

Jiang’s Geo-Strategy episode, The Iran Trap (2024), attracted international attention after several of its major predictions, including the re-election of Donald Trump in 2024 and escalating U.S. involvement toward conflict with Iran in 2026. In March 2026, Jiang gained more public attention with several of his predictions.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jiang_Xueqin
Includes discussion on whether the wiki entry should be deleted.
His May 2024 lecture was titled “Why America Will Invade Iran and Lose.” When he recorded it, Joe Biden was still president. Trump had not yet survived two assassination attempts. The lecture got almost no views. Now, as reported by Newsweek, his channel has gained over 100,000 subscribers in three days as reality catches up to everything he said.
In that lecture, Jiang made three specific predictions. He predicted Trump would win the 2024 election. He predicted the United States would go to war with Iran. And he predicted the United States would lose that war — and that losing it would permanently change the global order.

I am confused, no help for a state that was attacked by Arabs a couple of tears ago, now help for Arab states that other Arab type people have attacked ( I know they are Persians but connected through a common religion) its hard to keep up, still, after jumping the gun and recognising a new state, then being blind sided by unfolding events, I suppose the Albanese government, in their eyes, has to try to retain some relevance in world politics.
Just a minor point of order, most of the Arab states affected are far wealthier than Australia and have huge sources of income from exporting fossil fuels to the world. What and how will Australia support these affected countries, will we send borrowed money?

Couple of weeks ago I was caught on one of Victorias toll roads. No problem send me the bill I will pay the fee.
Oh wait, the bill lists several ways to pay electronically, cannot be paid at the post office and in the brave new world, this invoice from a multi billion dollar company does not list a mailing address. It does indicate that I can pay in person at a location in Melbourne a least a 2hour drive away.
So curmudgeon mode kicks in, ring the alleged “help line” and ask for a mailing address, Lovely gentleman in a foreign country advises that I must pay electronically, I advise him I cannot. Uk to ban Corgis and dozens of other dogs?
Sixty-seven dog breeds could be banned in Britain if new breeding guidelines set by parliament become mandatory, campaigners have warned.
The all-party parliamentary group (APPG) for animal welfare has launched a new tool to determine if a dog is healthy.
The Corgi, along with several other dwarf varieties of dog, would be considered unhealthy under the guidelines due to their short legs and closeness to the ground.
This is despite the fact these have long been highly prized features of the breed, which has historically been used for herding cattle.
Their small size helped them avoid any unwelcome kicks from the cows as they rounded them up.
The late queen would not be amused.
The dog hating “new Englanders” will be happy though.
Pure bred black dogs safe from hatin’. (Bet you don’t know why)
GSD’s and Dobermans not on the list. Good boys!
70
Because UK really has so few problems right now.
60
I wonder if this is really a back-door way to ban or restrict dogs which the UK’s now-preferred religious demographic of future Labour voters find offensive?
70
Corgis might have short legs but they are 35lbs of fury.
30
We had one family Corgi pet Dog and my Mother was his person, he was happy to be with other family members but not if he sensed any one of us was disrespecting his human, meaning even and always mild rebellion was met with growling and a bark or two at the offender.
30
Don’t under-estimate 8 kg of Chihuahuan-X either!
40
A sight I often recall and makes me smile was about a Chihuahua (spell check) Mexican breed small thoroughbred dog from the neighbouring house next door to mine, and how it often teased by 42 Kg German Shepherd Dog professionally trained and including protection duties so much more in control than the classic Shepherd natural instinct.
One morning I opened the tall side gates to the shed and walked into the front yard forgetting and not needing to be worried about the street gates being open. My Dog trotted ahead and turned left and when I got there the next door ankle biter was teasing again safely on the public footpath side of the fence. My Dog remained silent and slowly walked towards the open gate where he sprang into action and off they both ran flat out nose to tail, my last sight was them disappearing into the neighbouring yard, no barking.
A few minutes later my Dog returned slowly wagging his tail as he did when pleased with himself, the other dog I learnt later just made it through a dog door.
One other dog story, I was walking mine along a riverside path and up ahead were some traditional ancestry locals socialising and drinking beer, but not noisy or aggressive. As we approached one stood up and gave me the stop hand signal, reached down and picked up a little black puppy and put it under his arm, and then signalled that I could proceed. When we got there he with straight face thanked me for stopping and added that he did not want my Dog to be killed by his, and they all roared with laughter.
And I laughed with them
51
Sorry Dennis, accidental touch on red while reading your comment.
Years ago we had a long-haired GSD. My experience with him was that small dogs would keep baiting him until, eventually, he would growl a warning. Then the owner of the tiddler would round on me and complain about our ‘dangerous’ dog. He was actually a big friendly sook; it was the little horrors that wouldn’t leave him alone. We still mourn our lovely ‘Shep’ after all these years.
40
Mine too Annie, one incident I was walking alongside the Noosa River at Noosaville QLD in a park opposite the shopping centre and with a human friend, my GSD was on lead, for public show purposes as he was very obedient and came running when the lead was raised towards him, no words needed, and would put his head into the “noose”. As we walked a yapping crazily little white Poodle attacked from a picnic group nearby and my GSD reaction was to dance around it but refrained from delivering a killer bite. He was very capable of defence of himself or handler but also not aggressive and very intelligent.
It is the little and big syndrome isn’t it, humans also display it at times.

Follow the money, or in this case, the photo opportunity to see who is the most likely to have orchestrated an event. The missile on the girls school (in a country that I was told never educated women..) that killed 167 girls, a mistake by Israel, a deliberate act by America, a false flag by Iran to make America look bad?? Most unlikely would be the Iranians killing their own children, but maybe the Yank’s missiles aren’t as good as advertised.

Trump opposition claim that the President tells lies, is that the truth?
As a very successful business man and career sales and marketing focused for business purposes he would know the Art of Marketing, and exaggerated claims based on facts are referred to as “sales and marketing hyperbole and puffery”, lawyers use this excuse when competitors are claiming their clients are misleading the market place.
In other words wrap something maybe not very exciting and make it appear to be desirable.
Like patents, and patent attorneys will explain that to make a client’s patent more secure meaning more difficult to get around the centre piece is wrapped in legal words to confuse and delay interpretation and courts of law presentations when necessary.

One example I remember well is Trump’s first inauguration where he claimed record crowds (debatable) but the press published pics of the lawns in front of the Capitol only lightly populated as PROOF he lied, but CNN themselves published a marvellous mega-pixel photo with Trump at the microphone, you could pan 360 deg, zoom in to see the expressions on faces or out to see the crowd and the lawns had far more people. The published photo was obviously taken early (with no time stamp). Fake news.
Using “mega-pixel, Trump and inauguration” as key words it may still exist.

Trump has a long way to lie to get anywhere near the world’s greatest, Al Pinocchio .
With apologies to the once best, original Pinocchio!

There are endless videos online where a reporter has interviewed a participant in some demonstration or other, claiming that Trump is a liar, misogynist, racist, whatever, but, when challenged to provide just one example or piece of evidence, the protestor cannot, and often then simply walks away or spews a torrent of foul-mouthed abuse. Clearly, facts don’t matter to these people, only reinforcement of their need to hate. Unfortunately, thanks to decades of indoctrination by the leftist-dominated education system, and hypnotism by the MSM, they’re simply unable to even consider alternative opinions, or even solid but contrary evidence.

No…!!! Next thing you’ll be telling me the journalists for American/Euro media tossed coins into rubbish bins in Jo’burg in the 70s and filmed the black kids going through the rubbish looking for them…. It ended up as ‘starving black kids eating rubbish under apartheid.’
Never trust the media!

UK winter not so wet as forecast.

Fair to say that the summer gone in Godzone was not as summery as expected to be , by almost everyone.
The neighbours hay has been down over a week now but has only been tedded twice.
The steers broke into a hay paddock yesterday, so the adjacent hay paddock was put back into the grazing rotation as well, using the yearlings. Deferred grazing it is called , after the event.

NZ summer not so extreme as forecast.
Not too hot, not too cold (apart from the snow)
not too dry, not too wet (apart from sewage overflow)
no tropical cyclones, no east coast swells,
mediocre, average, meh, hopefully better next year.
The cicadas’ last plaintive mating song… while crickets strike up their evening tune (must be Autumnal Equinox coming up soon).
Midday high tide swim today, definitely no sign of a marine heatwave, however the cable-laying ship was laying cable just offshore (for the Data Centre construction inland from here, 100% renewable apparently with a heated wave pool to keep the locals opiated). Hope next year is warmer…

Sad to say but the Cicadas ceased singing a few days ago here in Brisbane, too. That always heralds the end of Summer for me.

Latest reports say that the US has targeted Iran’s oil extraction, refining and storage facilities. For me, this simply confirms my belief that the primary objective is to sever China’s relationship with Iran and its access to Iranian oil, because these bombing raids come on the heels of reports that China has sent military ‘escorts’ to shepherd tankers on their way to Iran to collect oil, setting up a potential confrontation with America. I have no doubt the Chinese would have essentially encouraged America to intervene, thus making America look like the aggressor in a escalation of the conflict.
But then, they got Trumped.

The story I’m getting is that Siberia and the Russian Far East are about to erupt and split from the Federation.
As you know 80% of Putin’s gas, oil, coal and rare earths are located in those areas. Beijing has plans to take advantage and recover lands stolen years ago.
China has no intention of confronting the US crusade with military might, they will suggest to Donnie that war is bad for business. This is commonly known as soft power.
02
The dogs are barking that Putin will lose Siberia, which includes Vladivostok.
00
Oh! Never stolen !
You have noticed how unnatural looks the border there – historically many if not most of state / national / tribal borders run along significant rivers.
And so was Russia-Chinese border before 1860 Treaty. Vladivostok was called 海参崴 (Hǎishēnwǎi) then.
The Qing Empire was so grateful to Russia for mediating on their behalf with Anglo-French colonisers – remember 2nd Opium War?
As one Emperor to another, China just ceded a parcel of land – 600 000 sq.km to Russia.

Interesting that the opium wars were the terrible Westerners enslaving a whole country, the Chinese were the oppressed.
Now we have the fentanyl wars and it is the weak willed Americans becoming enslaved, they deserve no sympathy. Possibly, but Trump is allowed to fight back and that includes blowing up drug boats on the high seas.

Uh-huh… That’s just after Xi was kicked from power late last year as I remember you saying, and Putin was finished…
