Looks like America might be moving to digital id
30
AG’s are always going to back digital ID, because it makes their job easier. I’m surprised it’s not 50.
The question is whether legislatures have the guts to try it (risking voter backlash), whether a governor/president has the guts to sign it (ditto), and whether the courts would allow it since there are multiple legal arguments that it is unconstitutional under the 4th (illegal search and seizure [of digital data]), 5th (illegal takings [of digital property]), 9th (unenumerated rights [privacy]) amendments, and probably a few others that I am unaware of. And that’s not to mention the number of obstreperous citizens and non-citizen residents who would flat-out reject it and build a parallel economy to get around it if necessary (grey/black market). You think the Somali parallel economy is bad, wait until a bunch of Chads and DeShawns and Joses start building their own.
Digital ID would be a whole lot harder to pull off in the USA than in most countries.

A long and complex study into rising mortality. The author suspects the covid vaccinations
https://dailysceptic.org/2026/02/12/excess-deaths-continue-to-climb-with-no-sign-of-slowing-down/
110
A study into rising numbers of non-fatal medical events over the same period may yield further evidence of the damage that has been done.
120
I am connected via a car club to 100+ people in my region. We have a rapidly expanding group of people receiving a poor to terminal diagnosis.
I thought at first this is just what getting old looks like but the escalation since Covid is dramatic. Yesterday I found out that the guy that likes to talk about getting his Covid boosters (well into double digits) has been diagnosed with advanced prostrate cancer. Usually a slow moving disease.
Just an anectdote I guess, but sad to see.
100
And there are still institutions such as aged care facilities that do not take inmates unless they have been vaccinated for CoVid. It is almost as if there is a desire to keep the excess death trend happening.
140
The real problem is the mRNA technology. It interferes with with DNA structure which is not immediately detectable. Damage will occur possibly only years after vaccination.
Don’t expect pharmaceutical companies to investigate mRNA themselves and be truthful.
There’s far too much $$$$ invested already!!
100
Don’t forget incompetent doctors, inept bureaucracies, and overloaded ER’s being as used as primary care by illegal aliens without insurance as potential causes. Medical schools have been dumbed down and DEI’d just as much as other parts of universities, and are churning out unqualified doctors by the truckload. Medical administrations have made getting admitted to the hospital a byzantine mess. And ER’s are bogged down with trying to treat a flood of uninsured people with non-emergency ailments wasting their time.

SUSPECTS?

In Australia the far Left faction of the fake conservative Liberal Party used to be called “The Wets”.
Then they rebranded themselves as “The Moderates” which disguised their true destructive nature.
It appears their only purpose is to destroy the Liberal Party and keep them out of power which they have successfully done.
It remains to be seen if Angus Taylor can revive the Party.
150
He has had a good start, David. I have heard him speak on a few occasions and always felt he was “holding back”. Yesterday it was a smiling and laughing Taylor who paid tribute to the ideals and values that once made Australia renown as a country of aspiration.
110
Hopefully Taylor will slowly but positively rid the party of the remaining “ wet, moderate Labor Lite “ persons. Australia is the envy of the world but unfortunately there are those that want to bring us down to 3rd world standards. Be very wary of the UN, WEF & their acolytes!! Better still have nothing to do with them!! And certainly withdraw financial contributions to those that will attempt bringing us down. Suicide is not on our agenda!
80
Watched Taylor and Hume this morning on Sky. They were bemoaning the lack of housing available for Aussies to purchase.
They blamed Labour’s tax policies and a lack of SUPPLY. They were then asked about immigration policy and they waffled about ‘the right kind of assimilable immigrants’. They still don’t get it – there’s not a SUPPLY problem, there’s a DEMAND problem.
Any average Aussie could tell them that if they reduced immigration numbers immediately on taking office, they would kill two birds with one stone.
But they never ask what would make their constituents happy. You know, those lesser mortals who gave them the opportunity for a pampered, cushy life in the Canberra bubble.
10
Gary, you may not have watched Taylor’s address to assembled press yesterday after the ballot. He did not mince words – we have to insist that potential immigrants accept our values. The corollary was that we might rethink where they are coming from….
20
I’m not so charitable, Vicki. Let’s see what they do as compared to what they say.
30
They still don’t get it – there’s not a SUPPLY problem, there’s a DEMAND problem.
Yes there are more people looking for housing.
But why do I suspect that the massively increased seven star building code additions are impacting the ability to address the supply problem. OK, the premise is probably well intentioned but the bureaucratic implementation will ensure that even in the most cooperative districts, building will take twice as long (and cost three times as much).
How long, outside of an approved “development” project, will it take to even get a building permit. Especially if the block has trees.
10
The government is not building houses – they are buying newly constructed homes and at a premium! Further denying young Aussies the opportunity to get into the market at a reasonable cost and driving up prices, as developers know the Government will pay over the odds.
This is exacerbating the problem and the scumbags are claiming credit.
10
Could this be used as a graph for available housing?

Hastie, with his vast tactical experience, must be well into thinking about de-camping.
Bravo!!
01
Supply and demand problems, it might be a job for Hastie.
Recent stats suggest that there are 67,000 unsold apartments nationally and 24,000 inactive dwellings across greater Sydney.
01
New York has the same problem, there are 50,000 apartments sitting empty.
https://www.city-journal.org/article/vacant-new-york-city-apartments-rent-control-housing
In China we see ghost cities, but now after the property collapse the phenomenon has spread to capital cities.
Might be better for Hastie to stay on the backbench until the fog lifts.
11
And to support your (and mine) belief that the LINO Left faction of the Liberal Party are far from conservative values the Miserable Ghost came out shouting, angry that the preferred light leader had been replaced.

Misconfigured AI could trigger the next national infrastructure meltdown
Analyst firm Gartner warned this week that misconfigured artificial intelligence embedded in national infrastructure could shut down critical services in a major economy as soon as 2028, delivering the kind of disruption usually blamed on hostile governments or catastrophic natural events. The prediction centers on the rapid adoption of AI in cyber-physical systems, which Gartner defines as “systems that orchestrate sensing, computation, control, networking, and analytics to interact with the physical world (including humans).”
https://www.theregister.com/2026/02/13/gartner_ai_infrastructure/

We all know the story behind Albioni Adagio.
Like some other (uneducated) music lovers I think this is the pinnacle of Barocco music, if not serious music generally.
I do not think it is treated by general public and professionals too as a second hand art just because it is “fake”.
And I wonder if an Arthur C Clark v2 can be created just by feeding ALL his writings, speeches, interviews, articles about him; then talking to Him and asking Him serious questions.

Scientists are baffled to discover 3,100 glaciers SURGING
While many of the world’s glaciers are in rapid retreat, scientists have been baffled to find 3,100 that are ‘surging’.
While this might sound like a good thing, the experts warn that it could be even more ‘troublesome’ than glacial retreat.
During a surge, a glacier sends large amounts of ice built up over decades racing downhill, where it rapidly melts in the warm lower-altitude weather.
Surge–prone glaciers make up a large proportion of lost ice in some regions, and experts warn that some are even ‘surging themselves to death’.
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-15556567/Scientists-discover-3100-glaciers-SURGING.html
Bound to be our fault and caused by climate change.
80
Whenever I see a comment like “scientists baffled”, I know some anti-science BS is about to be presented.
80
Which comes first: bafflement or shock, or are they dual citizens of a planet called D’oh!
40
‘Scientists are baffled’! As soon as I saw that, I thought ‘DM-type talk’; then I saw the link!
10
The most productive glacier in Greenland is “surging”. The reason is that its source is gaining elevation. So pressure increase is enhancing flow.
The elevation is increasing because there is more snow.
Snow is increasing because there is more moisture in the atmosphere and winter sunlight is reducing.
Atmospheric moisture is increasing because the ocean surface temperature in the NH is increasing due to increased summer sunlight.
The current trends with sunlight started 300 years ago and will reverse in 9000 years.
If you follow the trend, you might conclude that we are destined for a lot more snow. Greater ice accumulation at altitude and many more glaciers surging.
After just 300 years into a 9,500 year trend, it is reasonable to say – you aint seen nothing yet!
130
Once again, climate change loons define it in ways that are unfalsifiable.
Glaciers retreating? That’s bad and it’s all our fault.
Glaciers advancing? That’s bad and it’s all our fault.
If it’s not falsifiable, it’s not science. It’s faith/religion.

NATO allies pledge more than a billion to supply Ukraine with US-made weapons
NATO member nations on Feb. 12 announced new financial support to purchase U.S. military hardware for Ukraine, reaffirming their commitment to ending the war this year.
“We want to make 2026 the year this war ends—the year we secure peace,” UK Secretary of Defense John Healey said after a meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group in Brussels.
https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/nato-allies-pledge-more-billion-supply-ukraine-us-made-weapons
Translation: our economies and military stockpiles are toast so we need to defeat Russia ASAP and pillage it for all it’s worth.
60
That’s what Trump wanted! Europe to buy American weapons and have them destroyed the week after. It keeps the Euros as vassals, pours billions into the USA and keeps the damage in some other country.
“At the meeting, Norway, the Netherlands, and Germany announced they would fund a new $500 million package to purchase air defense equipment, ammunition, and other items from the United States.”
Also on that page, Von Der Leyen is talking of the end of European unity as the slower economies cost the better ones too much.
“This legal instrument allows nine or more member states to push ahead with reforms, while others can still join at any time.”
So they will become fractured into varying-speed industrial, social and economic groups of similar countries until we get back to what Europe was before the whole farce took place- groups of similar countries at loggerheads with distinctly different groups.
https://www.zerohedge.com/markets/putin-trolling-european-leaders-his-proposal-re-converge-us
31
How could anyone not admire Trump’s business prowess.
He doesn’t want US military losing lives in Putin’s war but he is happy for US to benefit bigly from Putin’s war; albeit at the cost of many Russian and Ukranian lives.
Russia lost 30,000 tropps in January and recruited 20,000. It has become a war of attrition. Russia and Ukraine losing lives. Europe consuming resources on weapon purchases from the USA. USA weapon makers making money and driving US economy. Lockheed Martin has a record backlog of $194bn and record profit in Q4 2025.
I wonder when Putin realises he has been trumped figuratively and Trumped literally.
50
Throughout history wealth has been created from wars and the one mentioned was started by Russia invading Ukraine so the US as a major weapons designer and manufacturer has taken advantage of what the US did not start
11
The two World Wars destroyed a large part of Britain’s wealth. The United States was dragged out of the Great Depression by the boost given to its industry by exports to Britain even before Pearl Harbor and unlike most other participants ended up richer by the end of the was than it had been at the beginning.

Can anyone help me?
I’ve lost my reference to recent reports that the historical Danish weather has been changed after 10 known warm times were reinstated, causing some bilious upsets in some.
10
I believe the Dutch recently reinstated a number of past heatwave events, after they’d been removed through homogenising historical data.
Here’s the study that exposed the issue.
https://www.researchgate.net/publication/356804268_Reassessment_of_the_homogenization_of_daily_maximum_temperatures_in_the_Netherlands_since_1901
Took quite a while for the Dutch Meteorological Institute (KNMI) to admit their errors and fix things.
I appreciate this isn’t the Danes, but in case you were thinking of this matter with the Dutch. If it’s not this one then I hope it’s of interest anyway.
Here’s the story from Clintel.
https://clintel.org/dutch-climate-skeptics-vindicated-knmi-reinstates-seven-pre-1950-heatwaves-after-long-battle/
30
Thank you Strop, although I hesitated whether it was the Danes or Dutch and picked the wrong one.
Curiously both the publications you sent weren’t the ones I remember, but even better.
For your information I am writing a rebuttal to the local newspaper about a letter from a prominent local claiming that CO2 causes dangerous warming – complete with mathematical formulas claiming that we (Australia) should cut our emissions by 60%.
“With recent revelations that the BOM in the UK has 103 non-existent stations (all reporting global warming) along with the Dutch authorities having to reinstate previous warm times (deleted because they didn’t support their wishes) and the Australian switch to smaller weather boxes (which show higher temperatures) perhaps he might wonder if he was misinformed.”
40
Is the published prominent local’s letter available via a link? I’d be interested to see their maths.
This article by Jo a couple of weeks back might help, if you’re arguing from the point of temperature recordings and CO2. It shows the lack of correlation between CO2 and recorded temperature rate of warming. The rate of warming was faster 100 years ago, by these measurements.
https://joannenova.com.au/2025/12/the-world-warmed-faster-100-years-ago-when-man-made-co2-was-one-eighth-as-high/
20
Surely that is simply the logarithmic effect of CO2 on temperature? A rise from 300ppm to 350ppm makes a faster temp rise, than 350ppm to 400ppm. The CO2 is less saturated?
00
The saturation at 300 is not a lot different to 400,
https://co2coalition.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Fact-2-CO2-warming-trend.jpg
and the amount of warming appears disproportionate for each period of emissions and level of ppm, indicating there are factors of greater influence than CO2.
https://joannenova.com.au/wp-content/CO2-global-warming.graph_.gif
(Obviously this chart shows temp relative to emissions in a given period, not the ppm for that period)
00
Not readily but here is the gist: (as printed)
The First Law of Climate Change is given by
M(t)= M(t-1) +E(t) -0.017* (M(t-1) -2155.
The Second Law is T= 0.001285* (M(t) -3,145) +1.
Where M(t) represents the MASS of CO2 in the atmosphere, M(t-1) is the Mass of CO2 in the atmosphere then.
NOTE : Wikipedia says To convert from the usual ppmv units to ppm mass (abbreviated as ppmm, or ppm(m)), multiply by the ratio of the molar mass of CO2 to that of air, i.e. times 1.52
I wouldn’t spend much time on them. I presume he copied them (or similar) from someone like Simon.
(and if you want it ; In 1970, the concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere was approximately 325 parts per million (ppm), which corresponds to about 2,500 gigatonnes of CO2).

“Australia weighs carbon tariffs to shield local industry from cheap imports. Australia’s ambitious climate policies are pushing up the cost of manufacturing and risk driving the production of cement, steel, iron and aluminium to countries with weaker goals, a government review has found.”
Of course the telling thing is that Blackout Bowen had this report a year back, but only released it now as Sussssan Ley was coming to her expected end. The opposition will castigate the Govt for following policies that have failed in the past, but the public will have no understanding of how it affects the country. We need tariffs because we are an expensive country that can’t compete with cheap countries overseas. We are an expensive country because our tariffs make everything expensive and we need to keep our wage rates high… hence Holden and Ford heavily subsidised for twenty years, and just like them, any other subsidised industry becomes so expensive it breaks the economy. The Wool Board, the dairy industry, its been tried before and always collapses. Its cheaper to fire the workers and pay them the dole!
“the wide-ranging review urges the government to slap a carbon levy on a “select group of commodities”, initially covering cement and clinker, while finding other commodities, such as steel, iron, glass, alumina and aluminium may also need carbon tariffs in the future.”

You drop two coins into a muddy river by mistake. You saw one falling in, a $1 coin. You know the other one had to be either a $1 coin, or a $2 coin.
After searching and pulling out one, and discovering it’s a $1 coin, what is the chance that the other is also a $1 coin?
Hint: python in a large room. 😁
10
One third.

So you initially had two $1 coins and one $2 coin.

40
Brainteaser — NOT! Insufficient information to determine a probability due to lack of initiaol conditions.
e.g.: Assume a medical test for condition x, the test 99% accurate, and unbiased. So, if my test comes back positve that I have x, what is the Probability that I have x?
Many, perhaps most, would say 99%, but that is wrong. The true probability rquires knowledge of the real percentage of the condition x in the population.
i.e.: The probability I have x is only 99% if 50% of the tested population have x!

“When Stellantis last week announced it was writing down $26 billion, the CEO of the car company that now owns Chrysler, Antonio Filosa, said it was “part of a decisive process we started in 2025 to once again make our customers and their preferences our guiding star.”
Which begs the question: What was Stellantis’ guiding star before if not its own customers?
For that matter, who or what has been guiding General Motors (which announced a $7.6 billion writedown last month), Ford ($19.5 billion), and other automakers that’ve written down a total of $140 billion in just the past three years?
Anyone who has followed the auto industry over the past decade knows the answer. All of these losses are the result of automakers chasing the phantom known as “zero emission” cars.”

Just as there is evidence today’s climate doomsday predictions are wrong, there was plenty of evidence by 1894 that horses would shortly be replaced by motor vehicles.
By the time of the horse manure prediction, the first automobile companies had already been selling vehicles for over a decade. Carl Benz, who founded Mercedes Benz, started producing and selling automobiles in 1885.”

It will not shut down ICE operations, as Chuck Schumer pretends. ICE was already funded with $75-billion in last year’s Big Beautiful Bill. The shutdown will only defund the Coast Guard and airport security. (Does that sound smart?)
Second, senators will be leaving the DC swamp and going home to their states where, it turns out, polls show that voters of both parties combined overwhelmingly favor election reform by 84-percent. The House has passed the SAVE Act onto the Senate for action, up or down. For at least ten days of the shutdown, the senators will have to explain why proving that you are a citizen to vote is a bad idea — or conversely, why allowing non-citizens to vote is a good idea. Same tactic in other developed countries, Member of the United Nations, UNHCR politics background prevailing to persuade compliant governments to effectively open borders for often illegal immigrants.
Australia had a serious problem before 1996/97 when the Howard Government introduced Pacific Solution deterrents against illegal immigrants and people smuggler boats, offshore detention to deny them access to the democratic court of law system and laws for even foreigners inside Australia’s borders, etc.
After 2007 and defeat of the Howard Government Rudd Labor abandoned Pacific Solution offshore processing and over 50,000 illegal immigrants/asylum seekers were brought into Australia where deporation even after applications for asylum were lost and the appeal process following was almost impossible to carry out as lawyers helped clients to obtain help from the courts.
The Gillard Labor Government (Rudd-Gillard-Rudd Labor 2007-2013) even changed RAN and Immigration Authorities description for people smuggler boats that had been Suspected Illegal Entry Vessel (SIEV) and arrival record number applicable to Suspected Irregular Entry Vessel (SIEV), and I read recently that Irregular Entry is now applied in the UK.
