“We own the Science” brags UN chief who works with Google to suppress climate skeptics

Google logoBy Jo Nova

Once upon a time Google had the best search engine in the world but solo unfunded skeptics had all the fun and were outscoring the UN, academia, and official government sites.

So the UN stopped competing and just colluded with Google to rig the game:

Melissa Fleming: (Under-Secretary for Global Communications at the UN) “We partnered with Google. For example, if you Google ‘climate change,’ you will, at the top of your search, you will get all kinds of UN resources. We started this partnership when we were shocked to see that when we Googled ‘climate change,’ we were getting incredibly distorted information right at the top. So we’re becoming much more proactive. We own the science, and we think that the world should know it, and the platforms themselves also do. But again, it’s a huge, huge challenge that I think all sectors of society need to be very active in.” (Full transcript here)

Naturally this bragging was at the World Economic Forum — the hippest conference-cum-holiday club that can be called a tax deduction for the uber-ultra-rich and their minion political puppets.

Where else could people say smug totalitarian lines with a straight face: “We Own The Science and we think the world should know it”.

(Full Video

If ever the Government got something wholly absurdly wrong, and thousands of free thinkers were mocking it and winning over the masses, we can rely on Google to protect the Government and crush the people.

As Marc Morano points out, Eisenhower warned us:

…public policy could itself become the captive of a scientific-technological elite.

Though it would be better to call it the banker-technological elite. It hasn’t got anything to do with science.

As Daniel Greenfield described: Big Gov protects the Big Tech monster from market competition  — and in return Big Tech protects Big Government from political competition.  Democrats have outsourced political repression of their enemies to cabals of private companies.

And Big Bankers get protection from public criticism, political pressure, and market competition. What’s not to love?

The UN owns the brand name ‘Climate Science(TM)’ and they act to protect the value of their brand against all forms of competition.

I wonder if antitrust laws could be used against the UN and their attempt to corner the market of discourse about climate science with their proprietary product ‘Climate Science(TM)?’

CONVENTION ON THE PRIVILEGES AND IMMUNITIES OF THE UNITED NATIONS, ADOPTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE UNITED NATIONS ON 13 FEBRUARY 1946

Why can’t anyone sue the United Nations?
      https://www.nbcnews.com/news/world/why-cant-anyone-sue-united-nations-flna8C11266822

the U.N. has invoked a sweeping immunity from nearly all legal claims that dates back to its founding, and experts in international law say that this legal shield has proved almost impenetrable over the past seven decades.

In 1946, the year of its first General Assembly, the U.N. granted itself legal immunity as one of its first official acts. Member states signed a ratifying treaty, and that immunity has been endorsed separately by laws passed in many member states.

“You can’t sue the United Nations in a domestic court or any court because governments have signed the treaty and some countries like the U.S. have even put it in domestic legislation,” explained Larry Johnson, a former U.N. official who teaches international law at Columbia Law School. “People have tried in various jurisdictions but their cases have been thrown out because it’s against the treaty and in some cases against domestic law.”

According to Johnson, top U.N. officials have a full immunity from prosecution and litigation akin to that of any diplomat. Lower level U.N. representatives, like peacekeepers, have immunity for tasks performed as part of their jobs.

IPCC Assessment authors are NOT UN officials (employees).

THE INTERNAL JUSTICE SYSTEM AT THE UNITED NATIONS

A new Internal Justice System for the United Nations was introduced in 2009, with the goal of having a system that was independent, professionalized, expedient, transparent and decentralized, with a stronger emphasis on resolving disputes through informal means, before resorting to formal litigation. Because the United Nations has immunity from local jurisdiction and cannot be sued in a national court, the Organization has set up an internal justice system to resolve staff-management disputes, including those that involve disciplinary action.

            Freedman (2014):

            1 Introduction

On 21 October 2010, cholera broke out in the Artibonite region of Haiti. Within the first 30 days, Haitian authorities recorded almost 2,000 deaths from the disease. Dr Renaud Piarroux, a French epidemiologist who has spent his career studying cholera, observed that the epidemic spread faster in Haiti than anywhere he had seen.1 The cholera outbreak is directly attributable to UN peacekeeping troops from Nepal,2 a country that is the third largest contributor of forces to the UN Stabilization Mission in Haiti (MINUSTAH).3

            And,

Claims have been filed on behalf of 5,000 individuals affected by the outbreak of cholera in Haiti. Those claims allege negligence, gross negligence, and/or recklessness by the UN and MINUSTAH. In February 2013, the UN responded to the Haitian claims by detailing the financial aid and other resources it has provided to prevent and reduce the spread of cholera. The UN insists that the claims submitted are ‘not receivable’ owing to those claims involving review of political and policy matters.7 This, essentially, bars the claims being heard by the UN’s dispute resolution mechanisms. In July 2013, the UN refused a request for compensation filed on behalf of the cholera victims, again citing its immunity from jurisdiction.8

            Dear UN, please stop helping.

And does anyone think that a claim of mere scientific fraud (incompetence and/or intent to deceive) would gain any traction at the UN?

“You can’t sue the United Nations in a domestic court or any court because governments have signed the treaty and some countries like the U.S. have even put it in domestic legislation,”

So literally above the law. A group of outlaws who make the rules for those who must abide by laws.

Does this accurately describe the UN:

a political philosophy, movement, or regime that exalts the collective above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition

WEF. UN more elitist Rockefellerian in nature I think.

          From trivia:

The United Nations headquarters in New York City sits on 16 acres of land purchased with an $8 million donation made in 1946 by John D. Rockefeller Jr.

As upthread, 1946 was the year of its first General Assembly when the U.N. granted itself legal immunity as one of its first official acts.

          And,

The supranational sovereignty of an intellectual elite and world bankers is surely preferable to the national auto-determination practiced in past centuries.

          The Agenda

Perhaps the single most striking feature of Agenda 2030 is the practically undisguised roadmap to global socialism and corporatism/fascism, as countless analysts have pointed out. To begin with, consider the agenda’s Goal 10, which calls on the UN, national governments, and every person on Earth to “reduce inequality within and among countries.” To do that, the agreement continues, will “only be possible if wealth is shared and income inequality is addressed.”

Difficult if we serfs don’t own anything as per WEF.

So the UN has put itself outside legal jurisdiction. Outside the law. Outlaws.
So that makes them open to popular justice since legal methods dont apply.
If you cannot use the law then it has to be back to the pitchforks. We use the confection ‘the law’ to resolve what traditionally was sorted by violence. Duel anyone? If you put yourself outside the law then you accept that you can only be dealt with by violence.

This reminds me of the time before the IPCC Copenhagen Conference when Christopher Monckton released his audit report on the climate change modelling, he revealed that the figures did not match historic record data and contained deliberate errors and omissions to achieve a warming trend. Similar to what Dr Jennifer Marohasy and colleagues discovered auditing the BoM warming claim.

Christopher Monckton was criticised and insulted by UN IPCC officials and he was banned from speaking at IPCC events, they said he is not a scientist, but he never claimed to be a scientist, he is a mathematician and his report was an audit. They said the science is settled but science is never settled. They even criticised his facial appearance.

And later the two batches of hacked emails exchanged between the UN “scientists” who created the climate modelling revealing their creative accounting and even their concerns about what might happen if their work was discovered. The two batches of emails were called Climate Gate 1 and 2.

We have to roll out a worldwide information network like the NIN (National Information Network) that we are building in Australia to have an alternative information service to get to the grassroots of the community with the basic information about energy that people are not getting from the MSM. The idea is to achieved credibility with the masses by speaking to their energy pain and then point out that fake climate science is the root of the problem. That can’t be achieved by putting climate first because that debate cannot (yet) be won in the public square.
Years or even decades have been spent getting nowhere in that debate, while neglecting the state of education to a point where only a coast to coast parents revolt will save western civilisation and also enable us to win the climate war. We need a Coalition to Save Our Schools! AT the same time we need FOGS (Friends of Gas Stoves) to Save Our Stoves!

There is a limit to the influence of average individuals who want to get on with their life. There is no point trying to persuade a zealot. They have to come face-to-face with reality.

Gerard Rennick also warned about the huge quantities of rubble having to be moved and dealt with in lithium mining. Based on his figure of 100 tonnes to be moved to get 1 tonne of ore (which then only gives us 38 kg of lithium) if we needed 10 kg for the battery in each car sold in AU, and we sell around 1 million cars per year, that is over 26 million tonnes of rubble being dealt with.

Worldwide 65 million cars are sold. That is 1.5 billion tonnes of rubble having to be shifted. Then we need to consider the cobalt and the rest. And all the batteries Anna and other politicians senselessly claim will be needed to “power our future”

Here’s the best way to prove the so called scientists are wrong about their so called crisis or emergency or existential threat….

    1. Pick the poorest continent and check the data since 1950 or whenever.
    2. In 1950 Africa had a population of 227 million and 363 mil by 1970 and 1400 mil by 2022.
Life exp in 1950 about 36 and 46 by 1970 and about 64 today.
3.Meanwhile urban living is increasing and number of farmers + rural workers are steadily decreasing. Yes a long way to go to reach the 1 to 2 % for the world’s wealthiest countries, but the trend is clear.
These trends have been incredible over the last 72 or 52 years and yet nobody seems to notice or comment about the data.
But admittedly Matt Ridley has recently also noticed these similar very simple sums for Kenya and Tanzania etc.
Many western health workers like the young Dr Rosling worked in Africa for years and also made a big difference.
But there definitely has been no climate crisis or emergency or existential threat at all. In fact the reverse is true.
IOW we just have to learn to THINK.

No double this is one of the fear factors that is used to keep the population slightly alarmed. You know, that the world is fast approaching overpopulation and we’ll all going to starve. This has been a common theme for most of my adult years. Whereas, when you look calmly at world population statistics and fertility rates , you realise that the forecast world population figures are exaggerated. That, in fact, there is a fertility crisis about to hit a lot of western countries and that underdeveloped countries could reduce their population growth by modernising their economies. First thing you do in those underdeveloped countries- turn the lights on in a reliable way. How do you do that – fossil fuels.

Physicist William Happer: “doubling CO2 makes no difference”
    https://electroverse.co/dr-william-happer-there-is-no-climate-emergency/

    This is an important slide.

    Planck-Schwarzschild Curve

The important point here is the red line.

This is what Earth would radiate to space if you were to double the CO2 concentration from today’s value. Right in the middle of these curves, you can see a gap in spectrum. The gap is caused by CO2 absorbing radiation that would otherwise cool the Earth. If you double the amount of CO2, you don’t double the size of that gap. You just go from the black curve to the red curve, and you can barely see the difference. The gap hardly changes.

The message I want you to understand, which practically no one really understands, is that doubling CO2 makes almost no difference. Doubling would replace the black curve by the red curve. On the basis of this, we are supposed to give up our liberties. We are supposed to give up the gasoline engines of our automobiles. We are supposed to accept dictatorial power by Bernie Sanders and Ocasio-Cortez, because of the difference between the red and the black curve. Do not let anyone convince you that that is a good bargain. It is a terrible bargain. The doubling actually does make a little difference. It decreases the radiation to space by about three watts per square meters. In comparison, the total radiation to space is about 300 watts per square meter. So, it is a one percent effect—it is actually a little less than that, because that is with no clouds. Clouds make everything even less threatening.

“The Science” turns to be just another failed hypothesis.

Right in the middle of these curves, you can see a gap in spectrum. The gap is caused by CO2 absorbing radiation that would otherwise cool the Earth.

      Not really.

CO2 absorbs or scatters the infrared in those bands. The absorbed infrared does not appear as thermal energy of the molecules (conservation of linear momentum) but is retransmitted.

The path length through the atmosphere of the infrared in those bands is increased by the interactions, increasing the proportion absorbed by other materials (ie the ground, oceans or water in the atmosphere).

The outgoing infrared radiation still ultimately is transmitted to space, but as infrared outside those CO2 absorption bands.

      30

      • #
        Richard C (NZ)

        Leo

The Planck-Schwarzschild Curve is the initial interception, “CO2 absorbs or scatters the infrared in those bands” as you put it. Calcs in this paper:

Dependence of Earth’s Thermal Radiation on Five Most Abundant Greenhouse Gases
        W. A. van Wijngaarden and W. Happer (2020)
        https://arxiv.org/pdf/2006.03098.pdf

Happer is highlighting the 3 totals relevant to CO2 at initial interception:

        307 W.m2 – No CO2
        277 W.m2 – CO2 400 ppm
        274 W.m2 – CO2 800 ppm (doubled but only +3 interception)

        With 30 @ 400 and 33 @ 800, an extra 3 by 2100 (doubtful) is of no consequence.

Happer also explains that phenomenon with an analogy. If you paint a post with 2 coats of red paint, putting on a 3rd coat doesn’t make it any redder. It’s why the CO2 theory of global warming was criticised back in the 1990’s with this same logic. Doesn’t matter if you double CO2, supposedly according to the theory of CO2 and absorption, the damage has already been done at 400ppm. ( or even less ) Adding more CO2 doesn’t do a damn thing.

        https://www.atmos.albany.edu/facstaff/brose/classes/ENV415_Spring2018/notes/So_Many_Model_IPCC_WG1AR5.pdf

There are various alternative and equally plausible numerical representations, solutions and approximations for modelling the climate system, given the limitations in computing and observations. This diversity is considered a healthy aspect of the climate modelling community, and results in a range of plausible climate change projections at global and regional scales. This range provides a basis for quantifying uncertainty in the projections, but because the number of models is relatively small, and the contribution of model output to public archives is voluntary, the sampling of possible futures is neither systematic nor comprehensive. Also, some inadequacies persist that are common to all models; different models have different strength and weaknesses; it is not yet clear which aspects of the quality of the simulations that can be evaluated through observations should guide our evaluation of future model simulations

Plausible until they don’t actually model observations. You’re right, just one model actually tracking observations would suffice – the rest can be discarded.

    Goolag’s motto used to be:

In a rare case of the Left recognising their own hypocrisy, that motto was removed in 2015 and replaced with:

Ye….sss, “We own the science…” and the rainbow and some other phrases, etc. Yes means no, not this now, Caccines are …. and so on.Wots Woke, we have Inglisch and Denglish, all conspiring to change our perceptions. Once upon a time we were taught things and it was good. We aspired to carry on and fly that flag, but soon it became ‘bums on seats’ and we were told that if it’s too hot in the kitchen, you’ll know what to do. Stupid people in control. and decades later as I’m told and now can see for myself, it really is Hans Christian Anderson’s Nightmare ( Märchen ) – but I’ve always got that one WRONG It’s a Fairy tale ( Märchen ) and Nightmare is der Nachtmahr oder Alptraum ( not in the Alps tho’ ). What I’m getting at is thatthe Fairytale is really turning into a Nightmare – maybe because we were told fairytales to puit us to slle – and then dreamt of it – hence the confusion in translation. and the Tale ? No not Thumbelina or Ugly Duckling. Think Pr Charlie now become K Charles III … Changed his clothes, but the Court jesters don’t lie. and you have the smugness of the Courtiers. But as we mostly ALL use MS Doors in preference to Linoleum and others and then go on to Gurgel our curiosities, we have fallen unwittingly inot that Spider’s Parlour and to a fair extent become entangled in the Web ( no Pun intended ) So Whilst I’ve had to update to Door No ‘s 10 & 11 ( not downing street) I just Duck n Go to the Opera most of the time. Meanwhile the Androids keep telling me to update with my DoB. Huh, they’re ALL shared business phones and PCs so we enjoy frustrating them with too young, or can’t be that old DoBs, if we really have to. What else is there to do?

WEF Hires Millions of ‘Info Warriors’ To Delete the Internet of Alternative Views

The World Economic Forum (WEF) has announced it has recruited hundreds of thousands of “information warriors” to control the internet, policing social media and forums for “misinformation” and conspiracy content which will then be systematically shut down.

According to Klaus Schwab’s WEF, misinformation on the internet is an “infodemic” that is “potentially deadly” and requires a “cure.” The definition of misinformation, according to the WEF, is anything they disagree with. This means the information warriors will essentially be engaged in the act of shutting down dissent.

Conspiracy forums and Youtube comments sections are being targeted by so-called “digital first responders” who pretend to be ordinary users of the platform, but are actually working to disrupt proceedings and support the ideology of Klaus Schwab’s WEF.

The UN is busy building a temple where the ‘science’ they create is owned and operated by them exclusively for worship and profit and where those who don’t genuflect to their dogma are cancelled from society. In their hubris the UN disown that God created science. Acts 17:24 (ESV) says: “The God who made the world and everything in it, being Lord of heaven and earth, does not live in temples made by man,…” Genesis 1:1 says: “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth”. yet now the UN claims to own all those scientific laws that God established for the creation of everything. How long before the UN starts patenting the laws of science so that the likes of Bill Gates can create a technocracy and become its high priest?

Economic Systems: The alarmists keep telling us their concern about global warming is all about man’s stewardship of the environment. But we know that’s not true. A United Nations official has now confirmed this.

At a news conference last week in Brussels, Christiana Figueres, executive secretary of U.N.’s Framework Convention on Climate Change, admitted that the goal of environmental activists is not to save the world from ecological calamity but to destroy capitalism.

“This is the first time in the history of mankind that we are setting ourselves the task of intentionally, within a defined period of time, to change the economic development model that has been reigning for at least 150 years, since the Industrial Revolution,” she said.

Referring to a new international treaty environmentalists hope will be adopted at the Paris climate change conference later this year, she added: “This is probably the most difficult task we have ever given ourselves, which is to intentionally transform the economic development model for the first time in human history.”

The only economic model in the last 150 years that has ever worked at all is capitalism. The evidence is prima facie: From a feudal order that lasted a thousand years, produced zero growth and kept workdays long and lifespans short, the countries that have embraced free-market capitalism have enjoyed a system in which output has increased 70-fold, work days have been halved and lifespans doubled.

Figueres is perhaps the perfect person for the job of transforming “the economic development model” because she’s really never seen it work. “If you look at Ms. Figueres’ Wikipedia page,” notes Cato economist Dan Mitchell: Making the world look at their right hand while they choke developed economies with their left.

How absurd! Problem is it is true. They do own the science. Ownership is provided by where people go to get the product, and they go to the UN, to see what the scientists say. And the customer is given a very effective product.

I once lost a debate against a 13 year old. She said don’t you believe in climate change? She then quickly produced “the graph”, the hockey stick graph. I said that’s based on manipulation of figures, and even if it wasn’t it doesn’t mean the theory is true. She replied “this is NASA. You’re telling me NASA falsifies data? Don’t be ridiculous!

The debate was over then and there. You only have a short time to take high ground. I went on to explain that not all scientists agree with this stuff etc, to no effect. She mocked me by saying I suppose you believe the earth is flat too. They are taught this stuff at school. You can tell when the info is coming from elsewhere with children.

I once posted on twitter, tell me how to debate this graph to a school brainwashed child, you have ten seconds speaking time as that is the attention span. No one came close to anything affective, long rants mostly.

It is an extremely influential graph that one. They are winning the information battle, because they have indeed taken ownership of the science.

The Mann graph, apart from being a load of statistical and mathematical malfeaces, is also based on tree rings

It is well know that trees respond very strongly to increased atmospheric CO2.

If anything, that is what Mickey Mann’s graphs shows.

It is a graph of tree response to atmospheric CO2.

If you take the tree data out, you get a much more historically logical graph., that also matches most of non-tree the Holocene temperature reconstruction from around the world.

Just tell them simple graphics (like the hockey stick) do not represent the real science.

I wonder if the United Nations is turning out to be Dr Frankenstein’s monster? It was set up by the Rockefellers after WW2, ostensibly to promote global peace and understanding, but now its main focus seems to be expanding the reach of its neverending bureaucracies and keeping the third world from developing fully by making energy expensive and subverting efforts by the Global South to industrialize effectively. Obviously China and the Asian tiger economies didn’t get this memo, or else they ignored it. There are also plenty of factories in Brazil and the like. Venezuela however seems a poster child of what the UN would like to accomplish. And of course communist Cuba. Needlessly poor places, made and kept so by bad government policies.

Eugenics, depopulation, and deindustrialization are the seeming endpoints the UN is trying so desperately to achieve.

Covid vaccines are helping enormously if some recent statistics are to be believed. I am only going on what was published in thecovidblog dot com, a website I follow, so I cannot vouch for the accuracy of the numbers. But it states that in Thailand, for example, in the first 7 months of this year total deaths exceeded births by over 100,000. Which would be quite unusual. A mix of vaccine induced deaths and the vaccines interfering with women’s fertility or causing miscarriages or stillbirths could well be happening there and in other places. Is this the plan? Bill Gates for one is certainly known for wishing to reduce the amount of humans on the planet.

The UN agenda is profoundly anti-human, to put it mildly. This is not a very nice organization.

The United Nations was infiltrated soon after it was established after WW2 by politically far left people, Australian Labor Attorney General (a Communist) Evatt provided the plan to get member nations to sign treaties and agreements, as many as possible, that could be used in the future to get around constitutional laws.

An example to consider was the last official address by then Greens leader Bob Brown at a National Press Club luncheon, he explained that he was in favour of a “world parliament” and no international borders. Labor MP Tanya Plibersek told journalists that she agreed with Bob Brown.

I have no doubt that the original model for a United Nations was a genuine belief in creating a better world with no wars and economic problems like the Great Depression of the mid 1900s. The people at that time had experienced two world wars and a world wide economic depression and then after WW2 rationing and other social problems. It was an ideal opportunity for the far-left to infiltrate and based on “the inevitability of gradualness” and similar gain the control they wanted.

I’m sure I must be dreaming, or just imagining things, but my life over the last year seems to have been Googulified.

To the beginning; residents of our street were officially notified of the pending approval of a section of local park/recreational zone/bushland/public land, to be used by a private group for the erection of a Five Gee tower.

We had two weeks to make any submissions prior to the Approval Date. Plenty of time, and I was confident that the State and Local Governments would be looking after our health and safety.

Nevertheless, after recalling the concerns about mobile phones and radiation problems I decided to check.

Strangely a googool search brought up no contentious material on the issue, 5G, and because any submission was bound to remain unread and deep-sixed to safe storage, I didn’t waste any time.

Time passes and the tower is erected, tested and switched on so that we are all connected for a more inclusive experience: perhaps we and our neighbours might all be together in the radiation burns unit some day.

Yesterday I was prompted to go online and look up “radiation damage from 5G” and was given a wealth of new material that raised concerns. In particular, it was noted that approval submissions for the spread of 5G were seen to be lacking in the area of scientific evaluation of the effects of the radiation on humans. Where was this material in my original search?

They have us, but we can at least be comforted by the knowledge that no “considerations” were transmitted from the company “rolling out” this network and the officers of the State and Local Governments responsible for the transfer of public land to private use.

I want to automate and remotely control my house such as heating, cooling and lighting functions and see video surveillance footage for security from my mobile, wherever I may be.

This seems difficult or impossible without buying into the Goolag, Amazon or Apple ecosystems and competing systems just don’t have the features.

However, by buying into those big three you are giving them even more control and surveillance over your life and more potential to be accused of being an “anti-social criminal”. E.g. you might be named and shamed for having your heating too warm in winter or cooling too cold in summer.

Ultimately, the Left want to impose the Chicomm system of a “social credit score” on all of us.

And as for “green” food choices, they already have Aussie kids eating insects at school. In one of the richest most productive agriculture producing nations on earth, at least we once were.

Fake news, fake science, fake facts, fake history and the UN proudly announcing that any differing opinion will be squashed, right or wrong. It’s an amazing time when the UN finally shows its true colours as an unelected completely unaccountable world government. And given that most of the national members of the UN, 75% of them are military dictatorships they are natural partners to Google. And politicians around the world worship at their vote changing ability.

The world players who can change it. Meloni. Truss. Putin. Bolsanaro(election today). Trump. DeSantis. Abbott. And the big events, a really evil winter at 50 North, Germany running out of gas as expected and the huge November half term elections now 5 weeks away where there is an increasing chance Americans may take back America, Congress and Senate. And then fake President Biden’s shadow puppeteers, Obama and Rice will have to work hard to stop an avalanche of committees to investigate their assault on Americans and their rights. And Pelosi is put out to pasture with Schumer. The only concern is China friendly Never Trumper Mitch McConnell as senate leader, like Congress speaker Paul Ryan before him.

And if the sheer size and power and enthusiasm of Trump rallies are any indication, Google and Facebook will have to work hard to stop the Red avalanche. And when they lose power, they will blame the Russians.

I have had my own experience with Google. Once upon a time, when I started doing what it is I do, way back now in 2008, I wrote an article that was way out there, and just could not be believed.

Why Does One Ton Of Coal Make 2.86 Tons Of Carbon Dioxide?

It took me a very long time before I actually committed to putting it up as a Post at my home site, because the ‘idea’ was just so far out there, you know, Maths and all that!

Now, this was in a time when the Internet (google) was, well, perhaps a little more ‘innocent’ than it is today, and everything got a ‘run’.

Now, at our site, since its inception, we now have almost ….. 26,000 separate Posts, and since I started back in March of 2008, 3,500 of those Posts are mine.

That Post I mentioned above has the fourth highest total views of all our Posts.

    Okay, I’ve laid the platform.

Innocent as I was at the time, there was something in the title of the Post itself that made it stand out, (besides being so unbelievable) and that was the number itself ….. that 2.86.

Now, why that Post itself has received sooooo many views over the years is because of the title itself.

If you were to Google the question ….. “How much CO2 does burning coal produce”, or slightly different connotations of that title, even one ton of coal, and more importantly, that number itself, the 2.86 tons…. and My Post would show up at the very top of every google search.

It was like that for years and years, and that of itself is why that one Post rated so highly at our site, as it was always on top of the search, so it more often than not was the first one ‘clicked’ on.

Then in recent years, my Post totally disappeared from google searches to the point where you can now google the EXACT title, and my Post is nowhere to be found. However, what now shows up is the reference I first found back in 2008 from the U.S. EIA (Energy Information Administration) the exact page in fact, and that never showed up earlier on at all.

    Tony.

So what does it mean when Google, which depends on advertising revenue, demotes ‘sceptical views’?

Could it be that there is more money following the now dominant view?

Buy the way, unlike public, or publicly funded organisations, Google is under no obligation to do anything for the self styled ‘sceptics’.

    110

    • #

Google has SEction 230 protection because it is a platform, not a publisher. But as a monopoly platform it most certainly does have an obligation to serve the whole community and not to act as a political player donating unlisted effective advertising to one side of politics.

If Telstra, say, were to refuse to serve businesses because they supported the Labor Green side you would be apoplectic.

      120

      • #
        Peter Fitzroy

        As do you (section 230)
As to google – their policy changed in 2021, previously it was the reverse.
you miss the point about maximising revenue. I am sure sure that if your side funded google, or telstra, to make up for lost revenue (as they define it) they would be fine.

Finally Where is this obligation to “serve the whole community” enshrined in law?

        07

        • #

What Google policy changed in 2021?

I didn’t miss any point about their revenue. As I’ve posted before, many sections of the media (inc social media) are directly loss-making. The point of owning the media is to use it to make profit or get political protection for other entities owned under the same conglomerate shell. Eg. BlackRock and Google own renewables investments, and benefit from Leftist Governments which feed them subsidies and punish their competition.

If Right-leaning governments spent bigger than leftists and were as easily corrupted, then Google would support them. So?

Google deceptively portray themselves as a “Platform” to serve the people. To gain the monopoly search engine status they engaged in deceptive practices. Since they are a political entity they don’t deserve Section 230 protection. They should be listed as political donors and fundraisers of in-kind support. And businesses that suffer losses due to their deception and political bias, and refusal to carry skeptical or conservative advertising or arguments, deserve to be able to recoup losses from Google. Conservative newspapers lose traffic and advertising revenue. Conservative NGO’s do too. People paying higher electricity bills due to suppression of arguments for cheap energy should be able to launch class actions against Google for its role in causing higher prices. Same for victims of vaccination. If they used Google to get informed consent (or their doctor did) then Google bias led to material damage by hiding skeptical information.

Since Google have become an essential monopoly service — obviously, self-evidently — they must serve the community. If they were Right-biased, you would be screaming for that. But you don’t have the integrity to argue for laws that benefit the people.

How is it legally desirable in a democracy to allow a monopoly provider the right to silence half of the political debate? The Democrats — naturally — being the parasitic self-serving grifters that they are — are happy with the current corrupt arrangement that doesn’t serve the people.

Yes, Jo, the solution’s pretty simple, really: if you modify search results or edit linked content, you’re a publisher, and you lose your section 230 protection.

That should be one of the rules. Another should be: if you’re a social media site (‘free’), then you must publish an API (Application Programming Interface), so that rivals can access your users as easily as you can.

Between them, those two rules would sort of lot of this ‘tech’ idiocy out.

Propaganda is different. They do own that. More is the pity.

It’s high time like minded nations simply resigned. It would be a hell of a lot cheaper and we’d not have to put up with all the BS.

Have one western, conservative country pull out & I believe at least 6 or 7 would follow fairly quickly. The other 150 3rd world and “ developing “ ( China ) countries could then do as they wish & pick up the tab for the bloody great hole left in the UN finances. The whole edifice would collapse in on itself inside of 10 years.

President Trump initiated the process by defunding WHO and extricating the US from the Paris Accords.

Had there not been a subsequent coup d’état against Trump, we may have started to see some changes at the UN and elsewhere in the world.

I’m ashamed to admit it but the UN concept was instituted by American Democrats. UN version 1.0, or the League of Nations, was the brain child of Woodrow Wilson. The irony was the League required ratification of the Versailles Treaty to become a member of the club, and the US Senate refused. 100 years ago even the president still had to abide by the Consitution. That held until 2015.

The UN, version 2.0 of the League of Nations, was primarily championed by FDR. Like the league, the UN has been used and abused by socialists and communists. How can an institution made up of the unelected be a champion of democracy and freedom?

Unfortunately you can also blame us Aussies for the UN. Australia was a founding member of the UN and played a prominent role in the negotiation of the UN Charter in 1945. Australia was also one of eight nations involved in drafting the Universal Declaration. This was due to the the work of “Doc” Evatt (Dr HV Evatt), the head of Australia’s delegation to the UN. Doc Evatt was a notable “leftie”, being leader of the Australian Labor Party for a time. Australia has since had this ‘jumped up” philosophy about our role in world affairs , even with our low population. As a result, we stupidly sign every UN declaration that passes over our desk. It’s why we are also so beholden to UN climate policies. Sometimes we even have politicians or bureaucrats who sign us up to some agreement or declaration and its only years later that “we” (the public) find out about it. Doesn’t matter if its the Liberal National Party ( right centre politics) or Labor/Greens ( left side of politics), they are both in awe of the UN. Junkets for politicians and public servants.

…and THAT’s where The Voice comes from and is going. The ‘First Peoples’ will rule all the countries of the world unless the UN is broken apart and the pieces scattered. …uh, ‘First Peoples’ is trademarked to the UN, and they decide which of the immigrant aboriginals they are. Morioris in NZ missed the boat, the Maoris are the Chosen Ones. Not only are they not going to be handed NZ, their story is being re-written or written out of the history books.

Yesterday I perused a major medical website to research all the possible causes of a persistent stomach ache. Some of the reasons given were obviously only applicable to women, but because of political correctness and fear of offending transpersons, this could no longer be explicitly stated on the site. So they referred instead to ” people assigned female at birth ” or some similar gender-neutralized nonsense.

    This is where we are.

Science is more than a body of knowledge; it is a way of thinking. I have a foreboding of an America in my children’s or grandchildren’s time—when the United States is a service and information economy; when nearly all the key manufacturing industries have slipped away to other countries; when awesome technological powers are in the hands of a very few, and no one representing the public interest can even grasp the issues; when the people have lost the ability to set their own agendas or knowledgeably question those in authority; when, clutching our crystals and nervously consulting our horoscopes, our critical faculties in decline, unable to distinguish between what feels good and what’s true, we slide, almost without noticing, back into superstition and darkness.

    – (late great) Carl Sagan

It’s already here. Ignorance, beliefs based on fear and lies, western economic decline into chaos. Even Sagan seriously underestimated the current realities.
It’s only the deluded greenies and climate activists who actually believe the AGW/crisis lies, driven as they are by a religious-like fervor of irrational emotion..
The informed (most people here) know the reality.
The neocons in the USA, the WEF, everyone in power everywhere knows it’s a lie.
The greenies are just totally exploitable & expendable cannon fodder for the great cause of war with Russia, and THAT is the real agenda hidden to the great unwashed.
Similarly, the innocent Ukrainian people are expendable too, the elite don’t care.
The greenies simply have ZERO comprehension that they’re being played and zero grasp of the realities of the looming WW3 that THEY are facilitating.
The rich old neocons, full of p1ss and vinegar (and that’s all they’ve ever been), whose driving force in life is to destroy their imaginary enemy called Russia.
Neocons who would sacrifice anything or anyone in their insane vendetta, and they’re the ones forcing the censorship.

So Google censors the truth. Duckduckgo scrapes Bing (who censor too)etc.
Of course they do – it’s all part of the agenda, but like the greenies they’re being played too and helping to seal their own fate.
(As I said before use Yandex. You won’t believe the difference.)
At this stage of the game Google and their ilk are irrelevant and redundant to switched-on players, because they’re too biased and corrupt.

People have to wake up and see the big picture above.
See the lies and censorship for what they are, a means to an end.
Look through everything not at everything.

We’re well on the way there, just keep paying unemployed and uneducated women to breed while the middle-class chase careers and have no children.

The UN is now a totally anti-West organisation. It is doing everything to weaken Western countries to advance their totalitarian globalist agenda.

The UN is now facilitating the trafficking of millions of illegals into the US through sponsored NGOs with the cooperation of the State Dept and Homeland Security. Refer Josh Philipp’s stunning expose on Epoch TVs Crossroads.

    So here’s the thing.
We see this pervasive censorship regime put in place by govt, MSM and big-tech collusion over Covid and any number of other issues.
But why then do we take anything to do with the whole Russia/Ukraine situation at face value without considering all the complexities of the issue that stretch back over many years?

What puzzles me greatly is that number of real scientists in different fields who just believe what they are told. Quite apart from the really wacky new ‘sciences’, I am talking about so many including astrophysicists, industrial chemists, microbiologists, pharmacologists, nuclear physicists, general science graduates.

At what point did they stop thinking or not caring? After all it’s pretty obvious that nothing about Climate Science is even remotely correct, not a prediction has come true and after 34 years of rapid Global Warming, there is no warming, no cities are underwater and obscure claims like drowning polar bears turn out to be fraudulent.

‘Ocean acidification’ which is just ridiculous word play when no oceans are acid. And ‘more frequent hurricanes’ when strangely, there are fewer. And surely you would have to think the claim that every storm, drought or flood anywhere in the world is ‘climate change’

Didn’t storms, droughts and floods exist before the industrial revolution? What exactly is going on that generations of people trained in evidence based rational science don’t apply it to what they are told by the IPCC? Or question blowing up power stations and electricity going up x10 in price?

Or is it that they really don’t care. Outstanding exceptions are meteorologists who largely don’t believe it at all and geologists who find it completely ridiculous and retired top scientists who cannot believe anyone actually believes it. Without any evidence.

Perhaps it is because real scientists are in such narrow fields that they don’t apply their science skills to the everyday world. A specialist in X Ray diffraction for example doesn’t think to question what he is told by Climate experts like Al Gore or Tim Flannery or the United Nations. Or perhaps they are all employed by governments and scared for their jobs.

Doctors too, all originally science trained, find it easier to deal with people if they don’t rock the boat. Maybe they all just shrug and go back to work? Having opinions outside your ‘field’ can get you into trouble with staff and unions and vocal minorities. Even gender operations on young children should be completely unethical, but there seems to be no resistance, no protective instinct. What happened to the Hippocratic Oath in the face of a tiny but violent minority?

And in all this politicians are the main chancers who will not lose a single vote for standing on any principle. Except for Donald Trump and Tony Abbott who actually called Climate Change crap and paid the price. And they were both cancelled by the media. Abbott absurdly as a mysogynist. And it remains Julia Gillards claim to eternal fame, slandering Tony Abbott in a completely inappropriate and wrong performance defending a gay politician rorting Commonwealth cars and his expense account.

In Australia, Matt Canavan and that’s about it. Many in the Liberal party are Teals. And Malcolm and his wife tried to make Turnbull’s Liberals(tm) a real Green party in coalition with the Greens.

So you can only hope for sense to prevail when the deep Northern winter comes, unless Pelosi and Biden can start WWIII, as they have been trying to do for six months with Taiwan and Ukraine. So far the bill to destroy Russian soldiers comes to $65Billion for about 30,000 dead Russians or about $2 million a Russian. Hand them the money and they would all go home. How anyone can justify this terrible slaughter is beyond morality. They are just daring Russia to start a real war. To avoid losing an election.

If anything will break up the EU and shake the UN, it’s winter. And Putin knows it. Even in Ukraine winter is terrible, far colder than Germany. And the yellow gas pipes will remain empty. Obviously someone wants this to happen, which is why they blew up the Russian gas pipes. The idea that Russians blew up their own pipes is absurd, but still that is official US opinion. Of course, even though Biden promised to destroy them. We can only hope sense prevails on the Russian side because there is none on the US side.

They’ll be under pressure in the Kremlin now with the recent losses. NATO have changed the Ukie method of war completely, making fast lightly armoured mobile units that make one break through the Russian lines and spread out behind them.

It was too much of a policing action and not enough of a war as far as Russia goes, they never had the numbers in Ukraine to hold the fronts they took. Now all the weapons manufacturers are trying out their latest, right down to Aussie with their APCs and every drone you could imagine.

Unless the Russians can stabilise their fronts the temptation to start using some serious hypersonic missiles on Kiev will be overwhelming.

I did see a NATO bulletin put out to its members about Russia’s Super-sub putting to sea, and they had the little propaganda line about it ‘may have blown up the Norde-stream pipelines along the way’ in it. They never miss a chance to reinforce their unbelievable rubbish!

I think its a product of the modern science education system. Conformity has become the rule from elementry school and it becomes more severe from there. Being different is career suicide.

Another part of it is specialization. One specialized field dare not critic another field because that is not their speciality. It doesn’t work both ways, though. Anybody can be an climate expert if they support CAGW, but even those whom have expertize in the relevant fields are discredited if they don’t. Lindzen say’s that this really got going once big Gov. money entered the picture with Clinton/Gore during 90’s.
