Men worse for climate change than women (so if enough transition, will that stop the floods?)

Men cause all the bad things (except for this study which mostly written by women):

Men Are Worse for Climate Change Than Women Because They Love Meat and Cars

By Anya Zoledziowski, Vice

Men emit 16 percent more greenhouse gases than women because they tend to spend more money on fuel and eat more meat, among other things, a new study has found.

Men Are Worse for Climate Change Than Women Because They Love Meat and Cars

It’s just another man-hating, high-fashion opinion article with a peer reviewed badge and some meaningless data.

With similar reasoning I might as well write: “Women are bad for climate change because they live longer and love hair dryers.” We all know women like to turn up the heater too. And they have babies, that’s got to be bad.

But men, clearly, were the target du jour, and the “experiment” such as it wasn’t, was to compare spending of single men and single women, as if we could get finer control of atmospheric systems by getting boys to drive less, eat more indoor lettuce (that’s a thing) and get their furnishings secondhand off Gumtree.

I’m sure men eat more meat than women but they also have bigger bodies, more lean mass and need more protein, and it seems a tad unfair to expect them to adopt a female-body-composition in the quest to cool the world. (But it’s probably a transphobic sin to ask the question.)  A search of the paper turned up zero instances of the term “lean mass” or “body composition”. Nutrition was not something that had occurred to researchers. If men would just eat more soy, they argued, we’d be that much closer to controlling global temperatures.

There was also no mention of lifespan, but there were three mentions of “soy”.

It all came back to spending habits – This was the kind of study you’d expect if an accountant was cross-bred with a social scientist and given a grant to solve climate change:

“These expenditures are as you would expect in a gender stereotype: Women spend more money on health care, furnishings, buy more food, clothes. Men spend more money on eating out, alcohol and tobacco, and more money on cars and fuels,” said the study’s lead author, Annika Carlsson Kanyama, with the research company Ecoloop in Sweden.
“If men spent money the same way as women, their emissions would be similar but they are not,” Carlsson Kanyama said.

Essentially, the preordained lesson in weather control was that men need to eat less meat, more plant protein and stay at home and grow lettuce in the backyard:

Meat and dairy have “much higher emissions than all their replacements,” including tofu, soy and oat milk, and vegetables, the study says, while travel by train or “staycations” offer alternatives to air and car travel. Pork, for example, is five times more polluting than tofu, while lamb is a whopping 25 times more polluting than tofu.

Holidays were the biggest source of emissions, so the researcher-activists were advocating staycations to stop the storms:

As can be seen, the lowest emissions come from staycations and a package tour by train in Sweden. The staycation category includes activities such as concerts and massage, and the package tour by train in Sweden includes train and hotel accommodation. In Sweden, trains run on electricity and the state-owned rail company (SJ) buys only electricity generated from renewable sources for their trains (SJ, 2017, p. 11). The package tour abroad by train is assumed to go to Italy and include six nights.

Men use cars more than women: (They needed a study to show that?)

“Gender is one of many factors to take into account when talking about how we can reduce emissions,” Carlsson Kanyama said. “Lowering car use, for example. Men use cars more than women, so maybe policies should target men.”

But what if single men are driving cars to pick up single women?  There goes that accounting. There goes that policy…

The only thing this study shows is how human knowledge would be advanced if governments stopped funding science. The entire cause-and-effect chain from single-men-buying-petrol being a forcing on storm-surges-in-the-baltic-sea needs industrial size grants to keep it from collapsing on its own absurdity.

It takes a lot of money to create this much stupid.

Women are worse for climate change because they produce more HUMANS.
    There, fixed it.

So by joining the dots the “Green” solution appears to be change all women to men then exterminate all men. OK, the left cna do it first then the rest of us will wait. When they have finished we will just change our mind. Problem fixed.

And all those cosmetics.. what is used to produce them .

Although some men are now using them nearly as much, in their efforts to become women, and thus produce less CO2.

Its all so confusing ! 😉

      – Where are the raw materials and the end products transported from?
      – How much energy is used in their manufacture?

And in the above I don’t simply mean the product itself but also the packaging. Have you never noticed the huge variety in the shapes and colours of the bottles?

You find a $200 bottle of perfume in a 50ml bottle contained in a one litre box complete with fancy wrap that probably cost more to produce than the 50 ml of cat urine in the very expensive bottle.

Richard Feynman in his “Lectures on Physics” explained that if you decide to begin an intellectual argue at some point, and fail to take it to its logical conclusion you can “prove” anything. It was meant to illustrate how so many classical explanations of quantum mechanical systems are false, but it is wisdom pertaining to a much wider field of topics.

It’s just one “peak stupid” when they milked the CAGW scam for all its worth. There will be other scams to come, even much bigger ones. The only way to avoid reaching the ultimate “peak” is to get rid of these stupid people once and for all. Otherwise, we loose and they win in the end. It’s either us or them. At the moment it’s them and they are winning hands down.

What? Haven’t you noticed all that yet?

I’m regarded as the idiot in my family because:
            – I don’t believe CO2 causes Global Warming
            – I don’t consider 3%-4% of emissions is enough to cause Climate Change
            – I’m not going to get vaccinated have a clotting agent/experimental medication injected.
            – I regard EVs as a waste of time effort and, especially, resources
            – I regard cholecalciferol as an effective covid protection

Global Warming is caused by the Sun. It’s the increase in atmospheric Water Vapour (what’s causing all these floods now temperatures are starting to fall)
It’s not from CO2. Water vapour is the only atmospheric gas which carries its heat of evaporation into the air with it. Vitamin D 3 (cholecalciferol) is still all over the Med Pre-prints. EVs are pathetic, especially in Winter – I keep my batteries in the bottom of my fridge (at a constant 4 ° C to prolong their lives. I’ve got ones 10 years old in there and they still perform as new when I take ’em out and warm ’em up for use.

But we live in truly strange times.
Don’t know if you’re aware of John Stewart’s appearance on the Steve Colbert show …

This observation required little talent, yet it landed like a nuke, and it was something that only John Stewart was allowed to say.
I think mockery and sarcasm. even humor, are artifacts of free societies, and these are under great threat in both our countries.

I take solace in the fact that those of us who “know stuff” about how things work ( power plants, vehicles, growing food, fixing stuff ) will likely survive whats coming much better than the weenie greenies and thier PC mates.

The fact the globalists are learning to thrown spears and own deep underground bunkers tells you they are prepared to collapse the global system and create wars, to cover thier wicked acts.

Yes, for those who have eyes to see and ears to hear the writing is on the wall. Globalists are unelected evil powerhouse drivers who are currently using our mindless governments who in turn are elected mostly by gullible voters who can’t even decide who to vote for while standing in a queue at the ballot box when the obvious move to make is not to vote for either major party. What’s the definition of insanity again? Any who thinks that voting for one or the other major party will make a difference really needs to stop what they are doing and open their eyes for once. But of course they won’t so we all have to learn the lesson the hard way, sadly.

Love these kinds of statement, don’t know how comparison “emissions” are calculated, but in terms of what is good for the planet grazing animals wins over broad acre farming every time. Mates of mine that raise cattle and sheep have properties that are quite diverse. Tree cover, shelter belts, patches of scrub etc. These properties also have other wild life ranging from large native and introduced animals and birds down the scale to the little stuff, native mice etc. Now on the other hand broad acre farming sees every other living thing as the enemy. Anything that eats the crop at every stage needs to be controlledr. Large animals are endlessly moved on, one way or another. Seed eating birds, burrowing animals herbavoires of any kind frowned upon. While grazing animals may compact soils broad acre farming, even “no till” very heavilly reduces opportunities for any other non required species to survive. Nothing is as sterile as a wheat or soy field. So as the move to a plant based diet rolls on, the very ‘saving’ of wild life is compromised by the law of unintended consequences.

        It sounds great Saighdear!
We are much smaller; what Aussies call a ‘hobby farm’! We have an amazing variety of wildlife here. Some, such as wombats and sulphur-crested cockatoos, possums and bowerbirds, European wasps, flies and jumping-jack ants can be a darned nuisance. Most of the time, we have a small number of Black Angus steers (have had cows/calves in the past), though the last lot were Charollais. We have some Dorper crosses to mow and manure (and, theoretically, to supply meat! Still no room in the freezer yet). No shortage of wild life anyway; loads of worms, bees, etc. There was hardly a worm to be seen when we bought the place and now it’s alive with them; also dung beetles.
As to meat consumption, I eat plenty, possibly more than my husband (yes, I do have a husband, emphatically NOT ‘partner’ and I am a ‘Mrs’; mail addressed to ‘Ms’ gets sent back to the originator with a request to address it properly, thank you!).

We have Carnabys’ black with white tails and white ear muffs ( if they had external ears). All cockatoos are little buggers , they can rip off your electrical wiring , the guttering on your house and the trim on your windows . They can tear your shade house to bits, they throw honkey nuts ( gum nuts ) at you and tip prune all your trees wether they need it or not. Their beaks are so strong they can crack and eat a macadamia whereas I need to smash them with a brick. They are highly intelligent and I think have a sense of humour – they always find hassling the dog fun.
Their screech can waken the dead.

Oh dear! Yes, plenty of great and obnoxious wild life here and in the UK. While we were living in Gloucestershire we had an endless battle with squirrels, pigeons, pheasants, slugs and snails (the latter here too) and all the bugs and fungi around. I think it is part of life, this battle to grow and store food against heavy odds! Managed to store some Cox’s Orange Pippin that we are still eating and we have citrus fruit though some (especially the limes) has been frosted.
I laughed wryly at the remembrance of Scottish midges; nightmare creatures. We caravanned by Loch Long many moons ago with all our children (40+ years ago…good grief, so long ago) and sailed on the loch in our little Mirror dinghy when it was windy and fished for mackerel when it was still; we learned to gut the fish out on the loch to cut down exposure to what our Scottish friends called Scottish Nationalist Midges who didn’t like the English! I was sailing once, making rapidly for landfall before a squall hit; too late but somehow made it without disaster!

We get large flies here over summer, known as March flies, though some say they are Marsh flies. Painful bite though ok afterwards. They used to drive our German Shepherd dog mad in Marysville and drove me mad trying to stop and enjoy the views while walking at Lake Mountain. You couldn’t stand still enough for long enough! Horrid things.

Millions of birds and animals are shot and poisoned every year globally to protect crops such as soy and almonds. That’s an awful lot of high quality protein gone to waste. What really rattles my cage is being told that someone drinks soy or almond milk lattes to protect the animals.

And of course the use of the word “MILK” to make it sound like something it is actually not. (like plant based burgers or steak) is also interesting. Milk by definition is the fluid produced by female mammals to support their young. I just looked at the milk bottle and it DOES NOT have an ingredients list . The label simply states “contains Milk” Now read the ingredients list for ALL non milk white beverages. The first is generally “water” followed by various things like flavours, sweeteners, emulsifiers, food colour etc. The actual selling point i.e. almond milk contains a tiny portion of almonds, just to expensive for more than a few %. Why is the term “MILK” allowed to be used when in fact what is being bought is “MILK SUBSTITUTE”. White paint looks like milk yet is called paint. A look at what makes white paint white and milk sustitute white might reveal the product of mineral sands mining, titanium dioxide.

If you read the FSANZ food standards code, milk is cleanly defined as the secretion from a mammary gland. So in reality all these cos making plant milk are in breach of the Food Standards by calling it milk and yet nothing is done.

Arnotts agreed but said they were only prepared to change their marketing if the complainant could prove their were substances originating in dogs to be found in ‘dog biscuits’. Case dismissed.

Well with the way things are going with the draconian lockdowns hardly anyone will be eating out for some time, not until the case numbers are back to zero and nearly everyone is vaccinated, which clearly will be never. We shall see what other plans they come up with once they realise they can’t reach those goals. Perhaps they will start vaccinating us to eat less meat. That would be the next logical step given some scientists are calling for a cut in meat consumption to reduce the risk of new viruses and that vaccine passports would be a good way to make it so.

Only 16%? I would have thought 100%. Men are much bigger, more muscle mass, higher metabolism and eat perhaps twice as much and die younger which is something everyone knows, but only a ‘study’ could come up with a mere 16%.

And all living things are made from carbon dioxide and water and generate CO2. Almost all are carbon lifeforms. Solar energy powers the entire living world through hydrated carbon dioxide, known as carbohydrates, the combination of solar energy, carbon dioxide and water through photosynthesis. If CO2 is a problem, life on earth is the real problem. Get rid of all living things and save the planet, but for whom?

Now if the world was only populated by small vegetarian lesbian Asian women, it would be a far better place, apparently. But the competition for clothes and handbags and shoes would lead to WWIII. Which would be fought with handbags.

“Scientific” papers from the Left frequently mention the supposed evils of eating meat.

We all know it is on the agenda of the UN for we proles to eat “insect protein” to “save the planet” and we hear of more and more mentions of it.

Naturally, the Elites will stay with steak, just like they’ll keep flying their private jets.

Also, I believe the supposed harm in terms of CO2 (what the Left illiterati call “carbon”) emissions of livestock agriculture are highly questionable both on the basis of actual data and in the false hypothesis that CO2 is bad for the planet.

David, eating insects will produce yet more examples of “the law of unintended consequences” as i mentioned up at #8. To produce large tonnages of insects they need to be fed. Just as the artificial demand for ethanol redirected food crops into alcohol production, causing a spike in food crop prices and a subsequent shortage of some staple grains and legumes. So we need to increase production of “insect food crops” to the detriment of human food production. Crazy. Currently grazing animals do a pretty good job of converting herbage to meat proteins but lets stuff up this process and try to mass farm insects. Have no idea how to do a comparison between insect protein versus grazing animal protein kilograms per hectare produced but I would put money on grazing animals. Back to saving biodiversity, grazing animals eat a wide range of plant types. insect food will require monoculture production to maxiimize output. I cannot see eating insects as being the way forward.

It is absurd to make distinctions about resource consumption between men and women.

Much male activity is done in support of women both on an individual basis and global basis.

For example, it is typically men who produce food in organised agriculture as exists in Western Society and it is usually men who make major decisions about how society is run (usually with strong influence from women in the background).

The only way such a study as this would make sense, even if there was a point to it, is if men and women lived completely independent lives in separate independent societies with no interaction between men and women except for men providing their DNA as required for breeding.

When you factor in the emissions from the washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, oven, cooktop and the iron, this definitely exceeds the TV’s energy consumption. Also, staying at home requires constant heating of the house in winter and cooling in summer, as most women can only survive within a very small temperature range, unlike the average male, thus creating a large energy bill. The female emissions also become even larger when you include the constant purchase of shoes, clothing and other personal items, compared with a man’s single pair of shoes, shorts and a T shirt. 😉

    https://www.csiro.au/en/research/natural-environment/atmosphere/Latest-greenhouse-gas-data
    “Seasonal variation”

“Carbon dioxide concentrations show seasonal variations (annual cycles) that vary according to global location and altitude. Several processes contribute to carbon dioxide annual cycles: for example, uptake and release of carbon dioxide by terrestrial plants and the oceans, and the transport of carbon dioxide around the globe from source regions (the Northern Hemisphere is a net source of carbon dioxide, the Southern Hemisphere a net sink)”.

Interesting in that the Southern Hemisphere is much colder than the North and far less land so more ocean surface, so the sink conclusions follows trivially because world CO2 levels are set solely by ocean surface temperature. Has anyone been keeping an eye on BOM data this year? Everyone I talk to thinks this has been one of the longest and coldest winters for a while. Yet the monthly averages for Sydney (for example) on Weatherzone have temps way above the average. I’m calling BS on that.

NASA/RSS has been reporting measured average global Total Precipitable Water (TPW AKA total atmospheric water column) monthly since Jan 1988. They measure it using satellite based instrumentation with a reported accuracy of about 1 mm (3.4%). The method is described at http://www.remss.com/measurements/atmospheric-water-vapor and all the data including the latest measurements at http://data.remss.com/vapor/monthly_1deg/tpw_v07r01_198801_202101.time_series.txt

The correct way to calculate TPW change is described at Section 8 in http://globalclimatedrivers2.blogspot.com where TPW is simply called water vapor (WV). This calculation uses the saturation vapor pressure vs temperature for water and the accepted assumption that WV increases with temperature at the same rate that saturation vapor pressure increases with temperature.

The methods used in GCMs either calculate the WV with the result being that relative humidity (RH) remains approximately constant with increasing temperature or it is simply assumed that RH remains constant with increasing temperature. The WV increase rate calculated assuming constant typical RH (which can be done using a psychrometric chart) is not significantly different from the WV increase rate calculated using saturated vapor pressure vs temperature.

The results of the three methods are shown graphically in Fig 2.8.1 at http://globalclimatedrivers2.blogspot.com . As shown, the measured WV has been increasing faster than possible from measured average global temperature increase. This demonstrates that the human contribution to warming has been caused by WV increase not CO2 increase.

This means that limiting CO2 which is the object of the Green New Deal will have no significant effect on climate. I wonder why NASA/RSS has stopped reporting measured WV.

      Need to look both ways?
Thanks for your work and great information. Does cloud seeding factor in what is happening with atmospheric water vapor? Seems the exploits of both China and UAE have had dramatic effects in the last couple of days for both countries. UAE has attributed their “success” to cloud seeding but seems no one is mentioning the possible link in China’s case despite its long history and “successes” such as cleaning up the weather for the 2008 Olympic Games. With so many countries now following a cloud seeding program (India, Indonesia, USA etc) instead of just looking at the rain falling down is anyone looking at the excess chemicals that fall up?
The article linked above for China comments how:
“Scientific American has documented a “strange pumping effect” whereby monsoon winds sweep pollution from India and China to incredible altitudes – as high as 18 kilometers. From there, the pollutants are spread globally through strong horizontal winds in the stratosphere.” Enter THAT man Bill Gates and his chalk in space idea.

      Cheers

Cloud seeding probably has an effect on where the water comes down but only a temporary effect on how much WV there is. Of course if more is going up than coming down, WV will increase and WV has been on an increasing trend of about 1.49% per decade (through Jan 2021). WV has been increasing globally including where there are no clouds. IMO the effect of local cloud seeding on average global WV has been insignificant.

And the contribution of weddings? Most guys just want a small intimate affair, but no, huge bash costing $$$$$$. The impact on the environment must be massive. Everyone knows that weddings are all about and for the women…

      Liberator,

it is an important day for a Woman as well as a Man – my wife and I’s parents were too poor to pay for our wedding, so My wife and I paid for the lot – Wedding Cars, Flowers, Brides and Bridesmaids dresses , going away outfit, Reception, Food, all drinks, Priest, photographer etc – Best Day of my Life.

Had trouble explaining this concept to our 3 kids, whose weddings we did pay for.

An interesting general article about carnivore diets in humans. Do you need supplements such as Vit C on a carnivore diet? Perhaps not. More research is needed on humans on pure carnivorous diets.

A signature fact of civilization is that successful civilizations create protein rich diets as a consequence of their dietary superiority over vegetarian/agrarian diets.

Let a vegan get between me and my steak, beer, and potatoes, and I’ll guarantee you the little squint won’t understand how that salad got crammed down their throats. 🙂

Ranch dressing might go well with a salad, but it tastes better on chicken, steak, and chips.

What they actually mean when they say “we’re all in this together” is they and the unelected evil powerhouse leaders of the world are working together to “help” us (to become slaves after culling much of the population). It’s a WIP as they need to develop more advanced humanoid robots to take the place of humans in many areas. It’s getting there. Some recent advancements are amazing.

I , for one , completely comply with the stereotype.

I am Secretary of the local car club, we have 4 cars for 2 people (used to be 5), I am often seen driving a 350 Chev powered Jaguar, in the warm weather when wife is having girly lunches I host blokey BBQ meat and red wine lunches on our deck (they forgot red wine , surely that’s evil somehow) Oh the horror, if only I believed their BS and cared.

Feminists have won the battle of the sexes. This is obvious in children’s books and TV soaps and adverts, which are a barometer of our culture. Female characters are mainly smart, confident and attractive, whereas men are shabbily dressed losers and wimps, or evil. Provision and childbearing are the respective gifts of husband and wife to one another, and comprise the social contract between men and women. (Only women can have children, and while they are doing so they cannot provide for themselves.) Feminists acknowledge only one half of it, and in a process of cultural emasculation they have altered society to do the same. The Welfare State now subsidises women who get pregnant without ever marrying, yet penalises the men who impregnate them. The resulting society has yet to prove it is viable for more than one lifetime.

The female half-tribe is slowly discovering they’ve won ashes. An unnecessary gender blitzkrieg they were foolish enough to go along with, and have lost all chance for love, fulfillment and the reason to be in the process. Better make sure your clone, or pet egg is a female, because boys growing up now are going to detest their mothers and other females in the post-2000 ‘connected’ but completely disconnected world these boys are lobbed into.

It’s always easier to burn the local supermarket than it is to go shopping in the ashes. So what now sisters? Given most men will want nothing more to do with you? Brothers, fathers and sons won’t visit anymore or talk to you. It’s easy to pretend these unfolding repercussions wont matter. Most women will discover too late the damage is done, and it’s permanent. Males have given up on females in droves as they don’t want to deal with a ‘lady’ again. It’s revealing to listen to ordinary men describe their most recent relationships with women. I did this back in March and April, and not one of the men I spoke to had a high opinion of females or wanted another relationship with one. It was shocking to hear, but was to same story of how badly a man was treated by a female, usually several of them in a row, quite often as a group. All of the worst aspects of females are on open display these days and boy are they horrible vile people.

Females worth knowing are rare. 30 years ago that was not the case. Currently I do know only 3 ladies that I like to talk with when I see them, but most females are incredibly nasty and vindictive people. They are skilled at false hate and making others suffer unnecessarily with lies. The nastiest most dishonest people I’ve met have all been females. I’ve met two genuinely nasty males during the past 25 years and both were criminals and former inmates. Men rarely behave in nasty ways, I can count the nasty ones I deal with on one hand. But females seem to have a barely hidden sea of bottomless venom. The naive notion females are a ‘fairer sex’ has proven another abominable lie. I doubt any male would believe it anymore. In my experience males are the people who treat people fairly, and always have. I can’t trust females, few men do, I’ve been back-stabbed by females far too many times and its always for no justifiable reason. Just overflowing female nastiness, no point looking for a specific reason for it, it’s because they are female. Men don’t do this, even the rough ones are generally honorable and fair, they actually go out of their way to help others. But females rarely do that. If they do, beware, they’re setting you up. They’ll do something really nasty, soon. Pointless blaming them for it, it;s what they do, what fills them with cheap thrills. Females who are not causing needless dramas or spitefully harming a man is probably occupied taking 3 dozen selfies, or an an image of their avocado on toast, just in case someone ever wants to know exactly what that looked like.

And males are responsible for the imaginary climate-change, complete with an imaginary ‘crisis’, ’cause appendage. Why am I not surprised to hear this coming from a feminist ‘VICE’ TV maleophobe waffling a stream of feral lies about the oppressive imaginary patriarchy? Life must be tough under such male oppression. These horrid people just spew hatred at men at every opportunity. There is no point at which they intend to stop.

I don’t believe they even have a cause to be doing it. It’s truly causeless, they just can’t stop is all. It would not occur to them that maybe it’s them. three decades ago you’d never hear from these quacks, they’d be in a psyche-ward for 2 or 3 month of the year, or at a pub, or chasing a man to pay the rent for them, and make his life hell. But now they all have a mobile phone for those 2 or 3 months when they really shouldn’t have one. So the causeless hatred of all things male spews into the either without restraint.

Bad gender! Stop destroying my femi-climate-fantasy!

I feel sorry for the young girls who fail to understand that the male-haters are probably having another bipolar episode and have a mobile phone with them to let everyone know the gory details of their delusional state of mind. That seems to be what is giving females everywhere this notion that it’s OK to destroy all relationships with the men in their lives. I do wonder what if anything will ever break-up this endless vicious string of lies and attacks on men who’ve done nothing to them.

“Men worse for climate change than women.” A meaningless sentence. Why accept the premise? Why even discuss it?
It embodies many* scientifically illiterate frauds being perpetrated on humanity to facilitate the Great Reset.

    First it accepts the myth that CO2 is responsible for the small slow and steady incremental rise in temperature;
    second it accepts the myth that human CO2 output is large enough to affect the rise in CO2, hence temperature;
    third it ignores the fact that a rise in CO2 is a very good thing – it’s what Earth needs for life to flourish;
    fourth it accepts that the gradual natural rise in temperature is a bad thing;
fifth it accepts that man has not the time nor ingenuity to mitigate any undesirable consequences should they occur.

*Many, related to the subject; far worse is the Covid and vaccine scam with which, God willing, a second Nuremberg will deal.

And should any untoward effects develop, there will be ample time for mitigating strategies to deal with them to be developed, rather than expend billions turning the clock back on people’s lifestyles and inconvenience people
