Ilmastoskeptikon käsikirja -Hello Finland

The Skeptics Handbook continues to storm the world. (If I do say so myself). :-)

Once again, there is no shortage of people who are willing to work pro bono to help fight the scam.

I’m told Finland has a very active community of climate realists. (And as it happens, over 1000 people from Finland have visited this distant site so far this calendar year without even a reference to Finland, or Finnish text before now).

There are plenty of Scandinavian skeptics all round and this translation adds to the already competed versions in Norwegian and Swedish.  (Where are the Danes?)

So send this version to all your Finnish friends and enemies! (Click on the image to download the booklet).

Thanks to Ilmastofoorumi ry (Climate Forum Finland) for organizing and checking the translation, including the layout and artwork. It’s been the smoothest translation so far.

Väistä loanheitto väittelyssä ilmaston lämpenemisestä. Tässä oppaassa esitellään strategia ja keinot, joiden avulla voit selvitä harhautuksista ja välttää ansat.

Finnish speakers can also send feedback to kasikirja@ilmastofoorumi.fi.

All the translations are here, or click on the translations tag to see the individual posts.

NEWS: I spoke at an Australian event this week that was so important you’ve probably never heard of it (I’ll explain some other time). Word is spreading! This time among CEO’s of major corporates, a few notable former central bankers, as well as current and former politicians. The annual weekend conference is run by the Centre for Independent Studies. I will be posting that speech soon. I’m travelling at the moment. Apologies for the time between new posts.

Still coming in the translations - Turkish, Dutch and Spanish.

Where are the Danes? We’re here (well, I am at any rate …) but right now time does not permit me to offer a translation. I’ll do my best to make some spare time soon! :-)

The Australian event you are referring to, was it the Centre for Independent Studies “Big Ideas Forum” last Monday? Looking forward to hearing more about it.

    Cheers,
    Anne-Kit

wouldn’t it be a good idea t first remove the flaws from the handbook before translating it.

Or wait, without flaws there would be no handbook left. Gotcha.

How much did they pay you to produce this piece of junk ? Were the new pair of shoes really worth raping science ?

    Anne-Kit Littler:

Ouch, here we have a typical example of a true believer, boys and girls! No specifics, just a blanket refusal to entertain any criticism of his faith.

“… raping science …” Apart from being untrue, since it’s the AGW crowd who perpetrate this particular crime – serially – don’t you think it’s a bit melodramatic even for an orthodox, fundamentalist AGW acolyte, Danko?

i’d prefer you look in a skeptical handbook yourself. I shouldn’t be doing the thinking in your place.

There’s approx 10 flaws/page, and most of them are sinning againt logics, not science, so anyone should be able to detect them.

    Good luck.

    Anne-Kit Littler:

Oh, no, Danko, you don’t get away with that! If you criticize anything you don’t just say “Well, check for yourself, it’s obvious!” It’s up to you to defend your position. Joanne has made a statement, you gainsay it, so tell us what specifically you object to.

You’re the one who is “outsourcing your thinking” to quote Joanne, by being too lazy to itemize and explain your points.

But thank you for displaying for all to see the usual mindless groupthink of the AGW crowd. With opponents like you winning fencesitters for our side should be a cinch!

If ‘anyone’ can detect these flaws, perhaps you should be encouraging them to read the handbook so they can see what a bunch of deluded, head-in-the-sand lunatics we really are. I’m sure our host will furnish you with all the copies you need.

Hej Anne-Kit, hvordan har De det?

Jeg kan forstår magyarör (Hungarian); suomen kieli (Finnish) – ikke so meget god.

I don’t think Mr Danko likes the Skeptic’s Handbook.

Another pawn for the Cap-and-Taxers to tool with and encourage people to lie down and take it!

    The Communist Party loves Dankos.

Why, if the world were run by Dankos, we would all live in caves and watch a smoky fire (and cough) for entertainment! I really wish global warmers would walk their talk and wear bear skin loincloths and refuse to ride in automobiles and refuse to use anything run off the electric grid (like computers).

Save everybody else a lot of misery reading their drivel on the internet.

I am very pleased and proud for Joanne to have taken her time, supported by none but herself, to write the very good and accurate Skeptics Handbook.

I think this is a wonderful resource for children too and provides a faultless point of departure for them to reject any and all claims of “human” influence on the “global climate”

    another dane:

Hi, I’m (also) Danish. I might want to translate the pdf as I’ve done translations before and the subject matter is relevant to me. I think it’s absolutely horrific that the climate/CO2 crowd has been able to kidnap the extremely important environment debate/movement and put the pseudo scientific global warming money making machine in its place.

But before I embark on that project I’d like to read it in full – and, as I only discovered it today, I haven’t had the time yet. But, I’m downloading.

    Thanks for making an effort.
