    Its not just electric cars.

Electric bicycles were responsible for a record number of fires, injuries and deaths in New York City last year.

‘”And one of the problems that we’ve noticed, when you look at those taped-up batteries, you see that they are refurbished,” he continued. “These shops are going inside attempting to refurbish the batteries and do it their own way. This is a safety issue.”

Amid the uptick in e-bike fires and deaths, New York City leaders led by Adams and FDNY Commissioner Laura Kavanagh — who said last year that e-bikes are “incredibly dangerous devices” and called for additional regulation — have spearheaded a public education campaign about the dangers of the device and pushed policies to ensure safety.’

      And eScooters.
There have been a number of cases in the UK of devastating house/flat fires caused by people charging, or just storing, their eScooters indoors.

The problem largely arises with cheap e-scooters with Chinese batteries and also that people just leave batteries continually on charge rather than unplugging when full.

Not helped by such scooters being light enough to carry into your living room to charge in the warm or even take upstairs if you live in an apartment block.

There certainly are a lot of “sub standard” battery packs around,..and chargers.
But if the correct lithium charger is used, it does not need unpluging at full charge, …it will automatically switch itself off when the battery is recharged.
( Unlike a lead acid battery charger which will keep the power on for a continuous “float” charge.)

I should add that even a ideal battery charger wont prevent a “bad” or damaged battery from overheating, or even bursting into flames, before its fully charged !

I checked, my electric assisted pedal bicycle has a Samsung battery and system including charger, and I follow charging instructions and never recharge inside my house.

If your battery is like mine it detaches from the frame and I would say the vast majority of people will then take it inside the house to charge.

E bikes and e-scooters are banned on a number of British trains.

Good quality expensive ones are not so much the problem, but the cheap and cheerful products with, as you say, refurbished batteries, which were probably not much use in the first place.

I found this trio of links-two of which I posted last week-very worrying when looked at in the round. The first indicates the “elite” -that is to say around 1% of us -want much tighter rules on travel, food and our energy use to combat climate change

    https://dailysceptic.org/2024/01/21/two-thirds-of-elite-americans-favour-food-and-energy-rations-to-combat-climate-change-poll-finds/

The second, also from another section of the elite states that “Lockdowns should be harder”

    https://dailysceptic.org/2024/01/20/im-a-public-health-fascist-journalist-who-led-calls-for-lockdown-publishes-book-demanding-we-prepare-to-do-it-all-again-but-harder-so-it-works-this-time/

The third is this Very disturbing demand from the Dutch queen to expand digital ID in order to track vaccination status and to track bank account spending

    https://slaynews.com/news/wef-dutch-queen-demands-digital-ids-track-vaccination-status/

We all know that none of the above groups would expect the rules to apply to them. Just finishing the book 1984 again and it is clear they see us as “proles” who exist only to serve their own needs and quest for power.

I can’t see how the travel thingy will work. Airplane industries are building more and more fuel efficient aircraft for more mass travel. Will those elites want to sit in ‘cattle class’ in order for airlines to have full flights. I don’t think so. And I can’t see aircraft being powered by a battery or even hydrogen anytime soon.

As for EVs. Can’t see it as diesel power is needed for so many forms of transport. Ships and prime movers for instance. Especially in cold climates.

And as for the Electricity Grids. Windmills and solar panels and batteries just can’t provide electricity for 50 years plus without replacement let alone providing 100% continuous power for 24 hours a day, day in day out.

Reality meets pipe dreams and reality will win hands down once again.

Texas weather. In the winter, Texas is known for its wild swings in temperatures. I’ve seen it go from 90 F to snow in less than 48 hours. (I’ve also seen it go from snow in the morning to 65 F in the afternoon.) But it’s a random variance, it can occur any time in the winter. (And more than once.)

Yesterday, Mayday noted how Kaliforniastan has banned the sale of new small petrol/gasoline engines such as used in lawnmowers and leaf blowers, even chainsaws.

As there are no independent thinkers in any Australian Lib/Lab Uniparty Government, Australia always adopts the worst laws of others so I wonder how long before the mentally deranged simpletons of our governments like Chris Bowen will do the same?

    150

    • #

As with most bans of sales. (Prohibition ?)…this will likely just lead to a black market in chainsaws etc, boost the used market value of them, and just force buyers to travel to a state that has more realistic regulations !

    Come fly with me!

Australia had a homosexual as the CEO of QANTAS who trashed the reputation of our once great airliner. Luckly none crashed.

But United Airlines has a drag Queen as its CEO!

Boeing is retiring its older qualified workforce and replacing them with younger workers who tick all the DIE boxes

Meanwhile the FAA’s own DEI hiring plan states: “diversity is integral to achieving FAA’s mission of ensuring safe and efficient travel across our nation and beyond.”

    What could possibly go wrong?

“Dear Scott Kirby CEO @UnitedAirlines and Drag Queen practitioner, I regret to inform you that I will no longer allow my family to fly on your airline as you have clearly placed ‘diversity’ of pilot hiring above safety of passengers and crew,” Schneider wrote.

He continued: “As evidenced by the near aviation catastrophe of UA Boeing 777 flight 1722 from Maui to San Francisco Dec 18th 2023, where your diverse but incompetent flight crew didn’t know which flaps were causing its near disastrous dissent, coming within 750 feet of killing every one aboard your United Airline.”

“Safety is the FAA’s top priority and drives all decisions.”

Then explain DEI traffic controllers instructing experienced pilots about landing because they Googled it ( and Google beats a pilot any day).
Maybe a DEI hire, iq of 80, autistic, feminist midget CAN fly a plane, but *I* won’t be on it finding out.

The train here in Adelaide is quite pleasant into the city from the foothills – except for the occasional announcement from a 1984-sounding woman who assures me that “safety” is SA Transport’s highest priority. This is a hangover from Covid days. There I was imagining that a transport agency would have “moving people and goods” as its priority, but there you go.

This morning the Australian government held a press conference that named a Russian man responsible for the MediBank hacking of nine million Australian’s personal information, nine months ago.

Was this event just a smokescreen to divert media attention away from the fact that Queensland’s electricity grid collapsed yesterday, unable to meet demand?

You Will Own Nothing… Because They Will Steal Everything

David Rogers Webb (DRW) is a financial expert and former global money manager who lives in Sweden.

Recently, DRW revealed the game plan of globalists like Klaus Schwab who publicly predicts, “You will own nothing . . .” According to DRW, this is not some idle threat but a complicated active plan demonic Deep State globalist central bankers have been working on for decades. DRW has explained this theft in a free book and documentary called “The Great Taking.” It is a stunning plan to steal almost all wealth and legally not be required to pay one red cent for it.

They have worked for half a century to put this in place. So, it is quite deliberate. This is not an accident.”

He also suggests you may want to sell your stocks and bonds now, and pay off your house or any debts you have.

Huge data leak dubbed the ‘Mother of all Breaches’ sees 26 BILLION records leaked from sites including Twitter, Linkedin, and Dropbox – here’s how to check if you’ve been affected

Your personal information may have been leaked in the ‘Mother of all Breaches’ (MOAB), cybersecurity researchers have warned.

Over 26 billion personal records have been exposed, in what researchers believe to be the biggest-ever data leak.

Sensitive information from several sites including Twitter, Dropbox, and Linkedin was discovered on an unsecured page.

Worryingly, the researchers who found it claim this breach is extremely dangerous and could prompt a tsunami of cybercrime.

To see if your data has been affected by historic data breaches, you can use Cybernews’ data leak checker.

Simply enter your email address or phone number into the search bar and click ‘check now’ to see whether that account information has been leaked.

Cybernews says that it is currently working on updating the tool to ensure that it will be able to check for data leaked in this latest breach.

WEF declares war on your Coffee

The World Economic Forum has declared war on coffee drinkers, declaring that they are causing “global boiling” and must be stopped at all costs.

According to World Economic Forum Agenda Contributor Hubert Keller, “The coffee that we all drink emits between 15 and 20 tonnes of CO2 per tonne of coffee… Every time we drink coffee, we are putting CO2 into the atmosphere.”

WEF declares war on your Coffee

Guess who will be targetted next to prevent “global boiling”?

How much CO2 does a human exhale per year?
The average American was responsible for 11,444 pounds of carbon emission last year, which makes for a whopping 890,000 pounds during a normal lifespan if emissions were to remain steady.

They also forgot methane emissions from the flatulant.

Methane is a potent greenhouse gas that has more than 80 times the warming power of carbon dioxide over the first 20 years after it reaches the atmosphere.

Why the wealthy woke are still buying beach front properties

CO2 forcing is identified as highly variable and latitudinally dependent. At some locations, such as over Antarctica, doubled CO2 TOA forcing is negative, or below 0 W/m².

“The [doubled CO2] forcing in polar regions is strongly hemispheric asymmetric and is negative in the Antarctic.”

This means that, as CO2 increases, its impact actually cools Antarctica. This contradicts the IPCC claim that CO2 climate sensitivity is amplified at the poles. It also undermines the alarmist claim that Antarctic ice melt (and consequent catastrophic sea level rise) is driven by CO2.

There has been a cooling trend in Antarctic for the last 20 years.

New Research Shatters Vitamin D Supplementation Myth

A major clinical trial conducted by Queen Mary University of London in collaboration with the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health has discovered that vitamin D supplements do not enhance bone strength or reduce the risk of bone fractures in children who are deficient in vitamin D. This research contradicts common beliefs about the impact of vitamin D on bone health.

Around one-third of children have at least one fracture before the age of 18. This is a major global health issue, as childhood fractures can lead to life years of disability and/or poor quality of life. The potential for vitamin D supplements to improve bone strength has attracted growing interest in recent years, based on vitamin D’s role in promoting bone mineralization. However, clinical trials designed to test whether vitamin D supplements can prevent bone fractures in children have not previously been conducted.

Over the course of three years, 8,851 schoolchildren aged 6-13 living in Mongolia received a weekly oral dose of vitamin D supplementation. 95.5% of participants had vitamin D deficiency at baseline, and study supplements were highly effective in boosting vitamin D levels into the normal range. However, they had no effect on fracture risk or on bone strength, measured in a subset of 1,438 participants using quantitative ultrasound.

There should be some big surf arriving in Ireland and maybe France in the next couple of days. Waves in North Atlantic now up to 12m:

These waves are as big as what the North Pacific experienced a few weeks back.

The NT low, 03U, has moved well into WA and weakened. It appears to be reducing the intensity of the cyclone Anggrek in the Indian Ocean. Low 05U in thee Coral Sea has intensified and now down to 990hPa.with winds up to 75kph. Not yet named though..

There was a deep low in the Northern Pacific (974hPa) that was producing waves to 10m at 28N on Friday. Waves of the corresponding wavelength would take around 40 hours to reach the Marshall Islands at 10N but were showing to be around 2.5m at the Marshal Island. I expect that is unusual for that close to the equator.

These are coral atolls that do not have much freeboard and there may have been some land shaping to intensify the wave. A perfect combination.

    And … ooo-er, missus –
“The ONS data showed that borrowing for the nine months to December 2023 was £119,100,000,000”

So, this tax year, our beloved leaders – nominally a ‘Conservative Government’, remember – have borrowed about £1,750 for every man, woman, child [and ‘other’] in addition to the highest taxes in peacetime since, well, the Roman Empire, or something.
And it all has to be paid back.
And interest paid on it until then.

    I weep.

Nope! Never paid back! Interest paid forever or until the next big reset! It amazes me how the voters never worry about this, but I expect 90% of them have no clue about how money is created.

        KP,
        Cynically, you’re quite right.

Is it any wonder folk borrow with no clear idea of how they’ll pay it back?
Mortgages, car loans, pay-day loans, the local pawnbroker or loan shark.
Just follow the Chancellor of the Exchequer [‘Finance Minister’ in the UK] …

But the interest still has to be paid …
Until the country, company, or person defaults.

I guess I’m old fashioned, expecting debts to be paid, on time and in full.
I won’t be in my next life!
