NEW! 2023 Data: Pacific Typhoon Activity Has Calmed Considerably Over Past 7 Decades!

The data from Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) Pacific typhoons formed and those making landfall in Japan are now available and have been tabulated by Tony Heller’s wife, Kirye.
Result: no rising trend for the past 70 years!

The JMA’s data go back more than 7 decades, to 1951.

Exactly, as Kirye’s and the BoM’s and Ryan Maue’s and any other non-homogenised records show, even with the minimal & slight ‘warming’ we’ve enjoyed since the depths of the L.I.A.

And yet, political scientists & zombie worriers preach the complete opposite.

By 22 September 2005, Israel’s withdrawal from the entire Gaza Strip to the 1967 Green Line, and the eviction of the four Jewish settlements in Samaria, was completed.

The Palastinians coulld have turned Gaza into a Singapore of the Middle East.

Instead they voted Hamas into power and devoted all their efforts and aid money (including that provided by Australia) into waging war against the Israelis who had given them autonomy.

The Israelis will not make that mistake again.

Interesting new book by Matthew Goodwin ‘Values Voice and Virtue’ telling us things we probably already knew but setting it out succinctly and clearly.

We have a new University educated intellectual elite whose values are entirely different to the old elite, not believing in their country’s culture, beliefs, history or traditions. A huge proportion want more immigration, more climate and social justice and financial reparations for those we have supposedly wronged in the distant past. They are contemptuous of the values and attitudes of those they consider intellectually and socially inferior (i.e not as well educated or connected) and are determined to sweep away the old ways.

Bodes badly for those wanting a return to pre covid normality, as more lockdowns, direction and surveillance are also on their agenda and they are not that keen on democracy.

This is what Brexit and the wave of right wind populism in Europe were out to give a bloody nose to. However, time is on their side and as they are at the top of the tree, and control the commanding heights, what they want they will likely get, short of a french style revolution. This overwhelmingly left wing elite have completed the 20 year long march through the institutions and no one stopped them

As an add on to my comment above about the intellectual elite-and their hangers on who are young but not actually in power-as they are so dismissive of their country and its value and its history, thinking it all ought to be swept away, only a tiny percentage would fight for their country.

Putin and others just need to wait a few years and they could just walk into many western countries.

More and covid “didn’t bother to warn”

“EMAILS REVEAL WHY CDC ISSUED NO ALERT ON MYOCARDITIS: The Epoch Times’ Zachary Stieber obtained emails and other documents that show CDC leaders chose not to warn Americans about a frequently fatal side effect of the Coronavirus vaccines.

This is a HUGE story and one that reveals more about why the “Public Health” establishment has about as much credibility with Americans as used car salesmen and Bitcoin scam artists. That said, the story will be all but totally ignored by the Mainstream Media, the Biden administration and congressional Democrats (more than a few Republicans on the Hill as well).

The good news is there are still senators like Ron Johnson of Wisconsin, who told Stieber that the “CDC’s apparent decision to not immediately issue a formal alert to clinicians warning them about the increased risk of myocarditis and pericarditis in vaccinated individuals is not only inexcusable, it’s malpractice,” Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.).

Johnson is currently the Ranking Republican on the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee’s Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations. If the GOP regains the Senate majority in November, Johnson will be in a position to do something serious about CDC malpractice.”

The U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) were fully aware back in 2021 that the Covid vaccines were linked to myocarditis. They prepared an alert to state and local officials of an emerging connection between heart inflammation and COVID-19 vaccines but ultimately didn’t send the message because it might cause “panic”.

“This censorship of a proposed alert in May of 2021 is just one more example of our regulatory agencies’ repeated pattern of behavior to censor any information that serves to counter the narrative that the COVID-19 vaccinations are ’safe and effective,’” Dr. Joel Wallskog, co-chair of the vaccine-injured advocacy group React19, told The Epoch Times via email.

Oxford in the UK is going all electric bus.
In a TV interview I saw, the talking head bus co. rep. admitted each electric bus cost twice as much as a diesel, but they would save on running/servicing costs (provided the cost of diesel rocketed as expected he said). We know from EV cars that the heavier weight and related wear and tear, and high insurance costs (owing to their habit of self-combustion), make that a lie. Not only that, national and council tax payers are paying towards the cost in massive subsidies. Including the cost of the charging infrastructure!

Despite the South Pole being -37C and snowing (gotta love the Antarctic ‘summer’) and Greenland’s Summit on -52C, a southerly jet stream is directing warm(ish) air up and over the North Pole, where the DMI is reporting a spike of -20C, instead of the average -30C.

Rapid warming across West Antarctica has reversed over the past 20 years, with the region now experiencing significant cooling, according to new research published in the Bulletin of the American Meteorological Society.

      https://www.antarctica.gov.au/news/2023/cool-change-for-west-antarctica

The Antarctic Ice Sheet measures nearly 4.9 kilometers (3 miles) at its thickest point and contains about 30 million cubic kilometers (7.2 million cubic miles) of ice. If the entire Antarctic Ice Sheet melted, sea level would rise about 60 meters (200 feet).

Artic Ice is floating ice and if it mellted there would be little change in sea levels.

I thought it worth taking a look at 42 years of global warming. The linked image depicts how land surface temperature changed in January 2022 relative to January 1982:
    https://wattsupwiththat.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/LST_ChangeJan22-82-1706315846.7322.png

It tells its own story. This is the warmest month for Australia and yet it has mostly cooled relative to 42 years ago. This year is probably cooler than last year.

But look at the northern hemisphere. All that land in red is not much warmer than freezing now but has warmed considerably in January. No wonder the Europeans, Russians and Canadians hate Global Warming™.

It is worth noting that a lot of the warmer land has no sunlight in January. So the reason it is warmer is because heat advection from the oceans has increased. That can only happen if snowfall has increased, which of course it has and, we are now told, was always forecast by climate models.

Ukraine: Hack wiped 2 petabytes of data from Russian
    climate research center

The Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense claims that pro-Ukrainian hacktivists breached the Russian Center for Space Hydrometeorology, aka “planeta” (планета), and wiped 2 petabytes of data.

Planeta is a state research center using space satellite data and ground sources like radars and stations to provide information and accurate predictions about weather, climate, natural disasters, extreme phenomena, and volcanic monitoring.

The agency is affiliated with Roscosmos, Russia’s space agency, and it supports sectors such as the military, civil aviation, agriculture, and maritime.

In another case of state-affiliated hacking, Ukraine says cyber volunteers known as the “BO Team” successfully breached Planeta’s Far Eastern branch (the largest of the three).

While the Ukrainian government does not state if they were involved in the attack, they claim the hackers destroyed 280 servers used by the research center, which held 2 petabytes of data (2000 terabytes).

This massive volume of information would be difficult and costly to store in backups, so if Ukraine’s claims are true, this is a catastrophic attack on Planeta.

The Ukrainian intelligence service says the damage from the data loss is estimated to be $10,000,000, impacting the operation of supercomputer clusters and also years of research.

“Among the destroyed data are meteorological and satellite data, which were actively used in constant mode by the Ministry of Defense and MNS RF, “Roscosmos,” and several other state agencies-aggressors, as well as years of unique research”

In addition to the above, the cyberattack allegedly paralyzed all HVAC and power supply systems in Planeta’s main building and cut off the station based on the island of Bolshevik from the network.

I came across this from the USGS (United States Geological Service) website- which is a US government official website.
Geology of the Glacier National Park
    Glaciers Today

By about 10,000 years ago, the large ice sheets had retreated. Most Pleistocene Ice Age glaciers melted away during a Holocene warm period. Present-day glaciers at the park date back 7,000 years, and it is possible that a few survived the Holocene warm period making them even older. However, modern glaciers at the park reached their maximum extent at the end of the Little Ice Age, which extended from 1770 to 1850.

So much for Michael Mann’s fraudulent hockey stick graph which has eliminated the well documented Holocene Climatic Optimum (or warm period as they call it here).
It is a wonder that the current Biden administration hasn’t altered these facts.

The Holocene Optimum was well-documented but is rarely referred to these days so as to maintain the AGW narrative.
BTW, Mann also got rid of the LIA and the MWP. And when the tree rings showed a decline in temps from 1960, Mann substituted the tree ring data with the temperature data to show the ‘hockey stick’. It was called ‘Mike’s nature trick’ and ‘hide the decline’. I wonder how his court case is going.

    Hello from Townsville.

I’m sitting here at my son’s house, my own being unliveable, no power, no fans in the heat and humidity and maybe none for a couple more days.

This schemozzle is NOT destruction from high winds and rain bringing down power lines around town, there were a few but with days notice Ergon would have had the crews on standby to clean them up by lunch time. This a grid collapse, coming soon to you. People on Magnetic Is. were admiring the light show of transformers arcing.

There is no excuse for having a network that cannot withstand an inch of rain and wind GUSTS to 100 kph. Sheet happens and there will always be something go wrong but this is something else like cascading failures. But the state gov is the ultimate authority and they have a stake in Ergon [I think] so they will never find themselves negligent. It would be a case all money being spent on the new fangled stuff, neglecting spares and maintenance. A class action is pending methinks.

Nearly 90 Percent of Ivy League Grads Support ‘Strict’ Rationing of Gas, Meat, Electricity to ‘Fight Climate Change’

Nearly 90 percent of Ivy League graduates support the “strict” rationing of gas, meat and electricity to fight climate change, according to a new poll.

The conservative Committee to Unleash Prosperity, in a survey that sought to measure the beliefs of “elites,” stated the findings reveal climate change “is clearly an obsession of the very rich and highly educated.”

The “shocking” findings reveal “a wealthy, partisan elite class that’s not only immune from and numb to the problems of their countrymen, but enormously confident in and willing to impose unpopular policies on them,” argued Isaac Schorr in an op-ed Friday for the New York Post.

“It’s near impossible to behold the results and not acknowledge they’re indicative of a fundamental disconnect between two Americas,” he wrote. “That disconnect should be of as much concern to proud aristocrats as it is to the peasantry.”

The new poll results are reminiscent of another survey The College Fix reported on last summer which found two thirds of college students believe climate change is an “existential threat” to their generation; however, fewer than one in five were willing to give up their smartphones to help.

Being rather anal about our finances, I keep pretty comprehensive records of our spending and have done so since I retired in 2016.

So I’m pretty confident in saying that our grocery bill has gone up by 19% over the past year, plus of course inflation was running hot even before then. So our living costs are probably close to 30% higher now than in 2022. So much for the official inflation figures.

This is terrible news for self-funded retirees. Working couples will receive pay increases to compensate for inflation but we are entirely reliant on our nest egg plus some interest. Most governments are desperately trying to talk interest rates down, which again will help families (with mortgages) but hurt us.

My worry is that this will force people like us to move all or more of their investments into riskier vehicles, even if it’s just higher risk super. That could go horribly wrong if a major stock market correction happens because, at our age, there simply isn’t time to wait while your super recovers – those losses will be ‘baked in’.

Of course those poor souls who arrived at retirement living in rented accommodation are in even worse trouble.

Oreo biscuits lower LDL cholesterol more than statins

Pfizer’s cholesterol-lowering statin drug Lipitor is one of the most profitable medications of all time. Globally, the lucrative statin market is projected to reach $32 billion by 2032. Yet, for years, there have been published studies reporting that statin drugs lead to profound memory loss and diabetes, and, overall, are entirely worthless. As such, the studies have supplied the basis for reevaluating the guidelines for prescribing statins and theories on cholesterol in general. After all, cholesterol is essential to the human body—if you had none, you would be dead. The studies have likewise questioned why more focus isn’t put on maintaining good heart health through beneficial lifestyle habits instead of harmful statin medications. However, given the massive profits enjoyed by Big Pharma and physicians alike, questions are quelled, and statin prescriptions continue to increase. But alas—firmly revealing the absurdity of the scheme to keep Americans unhealthy on statins—a recent study published on January 22, 2024, has demonstrated that Nabisco’s toxic Oreo Cookies are two times more effective at lowering LDL cholesterol (the one they say is “bad”) than high-intensity statin drugs. Holy smokes… what?!

The eye-opening study on one of the most prescribed drugs in history and one of the nation’s most addictive junk foods was conducted by Harvard Medical School scholar Nicholas G. Norwitz, Ph.D., who is ketogenic and has high LDL (low-density lipoprotein) cholesterol.
