Can someone please tell Bone Head Bowen and Elbow that price caps and controls just do not work, except maybe in war time. Oh dear, maybe we are in wartime. Wartime with the Guv’ment, the WEF and the Climate Alarmists.

Daily Telegraph reported yesterday from a FOI request that while in Opposition Bowen MP demanded an early trade-in before lease expiry date of his taxpayer funded electorate Mazda petrol engine car, we wanted a Tesla 3 EV even though they were not on the approved list at that time. After kicking up a fuss according to the report he got his Tesla EV.

Taxpayer’s money value for money overboard, monkey see, monkey want.

The real cost would have been the upgrade to the electrics in the garage to have a charging point between the Monaro muscle car and the SUV.

GLOBAL COOLING: SUMMER SNOW IN VICTORIA AND RECORD WINTER COLD IN EUROPE

Carbon isn’t making the planet hotter. The sun is making it cooler.

These were the scenes at Mt Baw Baw Alpine Resort in Victoria last week.

Remember how when there were bushfires and heatwaves in summer, all we’d hear about from the lying press was climate change?

Whenever it’s a heat event, climate change is behind everything wrong in the world.

Climate change causes inflation. Climate change is why economists are always wrong. Climate change killed the dinosaurs. Climate change is spreading COVID. Climate change is why we won’t have things in shops anymore. Climate change requires more girls in education. Climate change is making summer hot.

But the thing is, it’s not getting hotter. It’s getting colder. By mid-November this year, winter was hitting North America hard early with temperatures significantly below average. The winter we just had here was also colder for longer. In the neighbourhood around our house, locals were running out of firewood before the cold was done with us.

The signs are everywhere for those of us not brainwashed by the global warming propaganda. Australia just recorded its equal lowest-ever summer temperature when it got down to -7C at Perisher last Friday. Our winter this year was so obviously colder than usual that the propaganda had to address it. Temperatures in Australia have been anomalously low all year.

At the same time, the UK Met Office has issued multiple warnings across Britain for extreme cold today, with temperatures across Britain already struggling to get above 0C in the daytime.

Australia met the Kyoto Agreement emissions targets and exceeded them, and is now on track to do the same with Paris Agreement target.

      That’s why it’s cooling.

It feels like the end of a 60 year cycle.

‘As you’d expect, numerous other northern NSW towns also recorded remarkably cold summer temperatures overnight, as this cold, dry, unseasonable airmass with polar origins surged northwards.

Cobar dipped to just 8.0°C, the lowest Dec reading in 67 years
Narrabri’s 5.6°C was the lowest December temp in 60 years
Tamworth’s 4.6°C was the lowest Dec temp in 65 years

It will be interesting to see how winter continues in Britain. I have quite a feeling of having seen it before, 60 years ago. Time will tell.

My most vivid memories of Christmas in the UK, back int’ 50s and 60s, include quite miserable weather, with only the occasional snowfall on the day itself. The worst of course was when cold, wind and rain combined to create truly miserable conditions. Since then I have firmly believed wind to be a mischievous spirit as, no matter which way you turned it always blew straight into your face.

It will do the same whenever you build a garden fire. Move around it wherever you like and the wind will swing around to blow the damn smoke straight in your eyes, like magic.

          Loki?

Winter ‘63 in the UK gave us 8’ snow drifts on the main roads in Norfolk
We were searching for cars by probing with long canes into the snow .
Many houses and businesses had mains water pipes frozen underground.

If we have to start breaking the ice on the cows water troughs each morning this winter, then the end of this phase may be within sight . But I think we have a few years to go yet.
Since 1999 my farm has stayed green most summers, unlike the period from 1975 – 1998, when brown by Christmas was the norm.
I can’t say that I’m looking forward to two or three decades of droughts.

Its no coincidence, the Great Climate Shift of 1976 (when the PDO became positive) explains why NZ had brown Xmases up until 1998.

    More Australian cyber attacks

Fire Rescue Victoria forced to shut down system over outage

Fire Rescue Victoria has been hit with a system outage, which may be the result of a cyber attack.

Sarah called 3AW Mornings to report the concerning issue.

“Word is they’ve been hacked, so no paging, all the systems are down,” she told Tony Jones, filling in for Neil Mitchell.

An anonymous source inside FRV has confirmed there is a problem with the emergency service’s systems.

TPG Telecom Joins Growing List of Australian Companies Hit by Cyber Attacks

Internet services provider TPG Telecom Ltd. became the latest Australian company to fall victim to a high-profile cyberattack, announcing on Wednesday that the emails of up to 15,000 of its corporate customers had been accessed.

Its shares fell on the news, closing down 2.8%.

At least eight other Australian companies have gone public about hacks since October, prompting public outrage and the government to say last week it is developing a new cybersecurity strategy to tackle threats. It is also considering banning the payment of ransom to cyber criminals.

TPG, Australia’s No. 2 internet service provider with 7.2 million accounts, said the primary aim of the hack of the hosted exchange service was to search for customers’ cryptocurrency and financial information. Its cybersecurity adviser Mandiant discovered the breach during a forensic historical review.

MP says his bank details were available on dark web after cyberattack

An MP has said their bank details were available on the dark web after a cyberattack on a water company.

Conservative MP Marco Longhi told the Commons that he, along with “at least 249,000” others, had seen their bank details posted on the dark web after a cyberattack on the parent company of South Staffs Water.

Speaking during an adjournment debate on the issue, he said: “In July of this year, South Staffs PLC, the parent company of both South Staffs Water and Cambridge Water, experienced a criminal cyberattack.

“The incident involved the theft of data from their IT systems. Following the incident, they found evidence that some of their staff and customer data had in fact been accessed.

“With investigations still ongoing, it has now been confirmed that at least 249,000 customers who pay by direct debit, pretty much all of my Dudley North constituents and myself included, have now seen their personal contacts and banking details available on the dark web.

Hacker claims breach of FBI’s critical-infrastructure portal

A hacker who reportedly posed as the CEO of a financial institution claims to have obtained access to the more than 80,000-member database of InfraGard, an FBI-run outreach program that shares sensitive information on national security and cybersecurity threats with public officials and private sector actors who run U.S. critical infrastructure.

The hacker posted samples they said were from the database to an online forum popular with cybercriminals last weekend and said they were asking $50,000 for the entire database.

The hacker obtained access to InfraGard’s online portal by posing as the CEO of a financial institution, they told independent cybersecurity journalist Brian Krebs, who broke the story. They called the vetting process surprisingly lax.

The FBI declined to comment. Krebs reported that the agency told him it was aware of a potential false account and was looking into the matter.

InfraGard’s memberhip is a veritable critical infrastructure Who’s Who. It includes business leaders, IT professionals, military, state and local law enforcement and government officials involved in overseeing the safety of everything from the electrical grid and transportation, to health care, pipelines, nuclear reactors, the defense industry, dams and water plants and financial services. Founded in 1996, it is the FBI’s largest public-private partnership, with local alliances affiliated with all its field offices. It regularly shares threat advisories from the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security and serves as a behind-closed-doors social media site for select insiders.

Getting to the point, I don’t even read the hacking alerts anymore. Got one today about a possible hack, and binned it. Pretty sure they’ve been going on for years, but now there is some obligation to report, which possibly wasn’t in place before. Or ( cynical hat on here), it’s great for the media to beat up as another scare tactic.

A fair bit has been said about the police killers and their extreme views.

His brother Nathaniel is understood to have been living at Gareth and Stacey’s home – which was off the grid, and which he appeared to be prepping for an imminent apocalypse, with extensive solar panels and water tanks

    Ok.
There were some very paranoid posts posted by them but on par with what thousands would post daily in Australia. I’m a bit angry that there is an attempt to try and use this to portray right-wing scepticism of the government as dangerous, especially as people like the New Zealand shooter were self-confessed ecoterrorists motivated by progressive ideas of capitalism destroying the Earth along with overpopulation.

Then you have ” even the rains that will fall will not fill our dams” that influenced management of Wivenhoe dam

On 13th January 2011 major flooding occurred throughout most of the Brisbane River catchment, most severely in Toowoomba and the Lockyer Creek catchment (where 23 people drowned), the Bremer River catchment and in Brisbane, the state capital of Queensland. Some 56,200 claims have been received by insurers with payouts totalling $2.55 billion. This paper backgrounds weather and climatic factors implicated in the flooding and the historical flood experience of Brisbane. We examine the time history of water releases from the Wivenhoe dam, which have been accused of aggravating damage downstream. The dam was built in response to even worse flooding in 1974 and now serves as Brisbane’s main water supply. In our analysis, the dam operators made sub-optimal decisions by neglecting forecasts of further rainfall and assuming a ‘no rainfall’ scenario.

Listen to Glenn Greenwald’s Rumble Ep3 today – all about how the politicians and media stop at nothing to ascribe political motives for heinous acts, even when the evidence is not yet collected. Lots of good examples.

This trio carried out evil acts, but solar panels and water tanks and living off grid would apply to lots of people in rural Australia. In fact, isn’t this what the government encourages the public to do?

AOC Climate Change Documentary Absolutely BOMBS At The Box Office

Did you know that far left New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has a new documentary film about climate change in theaters right now?

    No? You’re not alone.

The movie was released in hundreds of theaters this weekend and it absolutely bombed. How awkward!

AOC climate change documentary earns only $80 per theatre despite rave critic reviews

New York Democratic Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s new climate change documentary debuted in movie theaters over the weekend, generating an abysmal $80 per theater.

The new film, “To the End,” was filmed over four years and follows four young women, Cortez, activist Varshini Prakash, climate policy writer Rhiana Gunn-Wright, and political strategist Alexandra Rojas, as they attempt to pass sweeping climate change legislation in Congress.

Baby dies from huge blood clots after hospital “loses” unvaxxed blood

A newborn baby boy named Alex was born in Washington state with a 95% survivable congenital heart defect and was also anemic and needed a blood transfusion.

Because of their experience with their family friend, they wanted to make sure Baby Alex had unvaccinated blood for his transfusion. So they found match through a member at their church and paid to have the proper protocol take place for Alex to receive that donors blood.

However, when it came time for the hospital to initiate the transfusion the doctors and nurses claimed they were unable to locate the unvaccinated donors blood the parents had procured. So without the parents consent they took blood from the hospitals general stockpile.

Moderna and Merck announce new cancer “vaccines” based on mRNA technology

Researchers say they have successfully completed a trial of a personalised cancer vaccine that uses the same messenger-RNA technology as Covid jabs.

The experimental vaccine, made by Moderna and MSD, is designed to prime the immune system to seek and destroy cancerous cells.Doctors hope work such as this could lead to revolutionary new ways to fight skin, bowel and other types of cancer.

Australian Cardiologist Calls to Halt mRNA COVID-19 Vaccines, Citing Heart Damage

A growing body of peer-reviewed scientific evidence links heart issues with the mRNA vaccines.

So much so that the CDC and other government authorities in the United States and around the world now recognize that the COVID-19 vaccines are causing myocarditis—heart inflammation which is considered more severe than pericarditis because it causes inflammation of the heart muscle.

In June 2022, the FDA’s Tom Shimabukuro, M.D., M.P.H., M.B.A., identified as part of the CDC COVID-19 Vaccine Coordination Unit, reported that: “Current evidence supports a causal association between mRNA COVID-19 vaccination and myocarditis and pericarditis.”

After witnessing as many as 70 cases of vaccine-related heart conditions similar to Eskandar’s, Australian Cardiologist Dr. Ross Walker is now saying publicly that he believes there should be a ban on the use of mRNA booster vaccines.

According to Walker, the mRNA vaccines are “very pro-inflammatory,” he told Daily Mail Australia. “ He contended that The Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunization should never have mandated mRNA vaccines.

“I’ve seen many people getting vaccine reactions, who get symptoms for about three to six months afterwards,” Walker said. “I’ve seen 60-70 patients in my own practice over the past 12 months who have had similar reactions.”

Cardiologist Dr. Ross Walker called to halt only the mRNA vaccines for young adults in favor of non-mRNA options. But a growing body of scientific literature (some of which has been retracted for political reasons), as well as state data and testimony from clinicians, has shown that none of the existing COVID-19 vaccines is as safe or effective as advertised.

At the same time, with Omicron and other strains replacing the other, more virulent SARS-CoV-2 variants, COVID-19 infection seems to be becoming milder.

Dr. Malhotra said in a recent interview “… this vaccine is not completely safe, and has unprecedented harms”. He concluded in a peer-reviewed article published in the Journal of Insulin Resistance that a “pause and reappraisal of global vaccination policies for COVID-19 is long overdue.”

Professor Norman Fenton Fact-Checks Igor’s Vaccine/Mortality Analysis… And Makes AMAZING Discoveries!

Professor Norman Fenton and Martin Neil took a close and professional look at the association between “excess mortality” in developed countries, Covid vaccines, Covid, lockdown stringency, and other matters.

Everyone who is numerically inclined MUST READ their in-depth analysis of excess mortality. In addition to fact-checking my past posts, they provide numerous bombshell findings.

Professor Fenton and Martin Neil are statisticians and analysts. Using linear regression analysis and other statistical tools, they comprehensively looked at the impact of Covid itself, Long Covid, vaccines, and lockdown stringency, on total mortality.

        Their findings are incredible.

The charts above show that the effect of vaccines on total mortality is worsening over time and reaches extreme levels of statistical significance.

This is the highest grade health alarm possible — sounded by professional data analysts and statisticians. It should send chills down your spine!

Stephen Fry and the climate of hypocrisy

STEPHEN Fry has announced that he doesn’t understand ‘climate deniers’, implying that such people are selfish and uncaring. He delivered himself of this opinion in a puff piece for his new travel series, A Year on Planet Earth, due to drop on ITVX on December 22.

The series takes Fry to some of the most exotic and beautiful places in the world where he will emote about the flora and fauna. He hopes we will be sufficiently awestruck to help save the world from the ‘climate crisis’ but won’t be lecturing us, he says. This is a relief. But what exactly does he not understand about ‘climate deniers’?

Let’s take a quick look at the views of those crazy denialists. According to William Happer, one of the world’s most distinguished scientists and former adviser to two US presidents, anthropogenic climate change is real – we do have an impact on the climate, but it is small (nothing like a ‘crisis’) and in many ways beneficial (‘global greening’).

Happer and others argue that CO2 (the stuff of life, let us not forget) is a very minor greenhouse gas, and, due to the saturation effect, there is a limit to how much it can affect climate. He uses the analogy of painting a barn door: there are only so many coats you can apply before there is no further impact. In other words, China can build as many coal-fired power stations as it wants, and that may not be good at a surface level, but beyond a certain, not very scary, level, it won’t make any difference to global temperatures.

Added to this, there is the awkward fact that the world isn’t co-operating in the climate crisis narrative. The Arctic and Antarctic have failed to melt away; the Great Barrier Reef, for which an obituary was written in the Guardian, is flourishing, and those pesky polar bears, penguins and whales, just refuse to do the decent thing and disappear. So, to paraphrase Jim Callaghan, ‘Crisis? What crisis?’

Fry says in his article that climate deniers ‘now seem to be diminishing in numbers, thankfully’ suggesting these dreadful people are one species he would be glad to see become extinct. And yet this is manifestly untrue. The WCD (World Climate Declaration) is a campaign group of some 1,400 scientists, engineers and experts led by Nobel laureate Ivar Giaever. Hundreds are signing their declaration every day. These, their key points, even a science ‘illiterate’ should be able to understand:

    · Natural as well as anthropogenic factors cause warming

    · Warming is far slower than predicted

    · Climate policy relies on inadequate models

    · CO2 is plant food, the basis of all life on Earth

    · Global warming has not increased natural disasters

    · Climate policy must respect scientific and economic realities

My most exciting deep water crossing was into a mountain property, the owner had warned me against entering a week earlier and phoned me to advise it could be crossed, enter with care and slowly in low range 4WD (my diesel vehicle had a snorkel, and at the halfway point turn slightly right and then left towards the exit point on the opposite bank, the water was about door handle height. We made it through safely and return a couple of hours later.

But much earlier in time I was heading on a trip to the NT and WA and had two female friends travelling with me, I was asked how I would cope and why two. I replied that after reading what should be taken the advice was to take a spare of everything.

    How Lockdowns Made Us Sicker

Early during lockdowns in 2020, when the whole of the media marched in lockstep with the most appalling reach of public policy in our lifetimes, two doctors from Bakersfield, California went out on a limb and objected.

Their names: Dan Erikson and Artin Massihi from Accelerated Urgent Care. They held a press conference in which they claimed that lockdowns would only delay but not finally control the virus. Moreover, they predicted, at the end of this, we would also be sicker than ever because of our lack of exposure to endemic pathogens.

How well I can recall the outrage! They were treated like seditious cranks and new media blasted their comments as somehow radically heterodox, even though they said nothing I had not learned in 9th-grade biology class. It was utterly bizarre how quickly lockdowns became an orthodoxy, enforced, as we are now learning, by media and tech platforms working closely with government agencies to warp public perceptions of science.

Here we are three years later and the headlines are all over the place.

the Emergency Use Authorisation (EUA)of the Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 Vaccine/BNT 162b2 was granted on the efficacy data of 170 patients. The 162 who received a placebo and 8 patients who were vaccinated formed the basis of the 95 per cent efficacy claims.

    From the Spectator.

    https://www.spectator.com.au/2022/12/170-patients-that-changed-everything/

Few people realise that the Emergency Use Authorisation (EUA)of the Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 Vaccine/BNT 162b2 was granted on the efficacy data of 170 patients. The 162 who received a placebo and 8 patients who were vaccinated formed the basis of the 95 per cent efficacy claims.

There has not been much discussion of these patients. Where did they come from? Can we get an approximate timeline as when these patients would have been collected?

The endpoint of the Pfizer-BioNTech trial(1) was getting a Covid infection at least 7 days after dose 2, and vaccine efficacy was measured by calculating the risk of disease among vaccinated and unvaccinated persons and determining the percentage reduction in risk of disease among vaccinated persons relative to unvaccinated persons.(2)

The 170 patients were found, buried deep amongst the hundreds of thousands of pages, made available only via court order.

In a paper(3) published on dailyclout.io, my co-authors and I go into the detail of how they were found. We also cross-referenced our list with publicly available demographic data yielding a perfect match. As such, we are confident that our list of the 170 patients, publicly available in our article as an excel spreadsheet, are in fact the 170 that were the basis of the ‘effective’ claim in the ‘safe and effective’ mantra.

Thursday strangeness – Signalman Jack: The Baboon Who Worked for the Railroad, and Never Made a Mistake

One day in the 1880s, a peg-legged railway signalman named James Edwin Wide was visiting a buzzing South African market when he witnessed something surreal: A chacma baboon driving an oxcart. Impressed by the primate’s skills, Wide bought him, named him Jack, and made him his pet and personal assistant.

Wide needed the help. Years earlier, he had lost both his legs in a work accident, which made his half-mile commute to the train station extremely difficult for him. So the first thing he trained the primate to do was push him to and from work in a small trolley. Soon, Jack was also helping with household chores, sweeping floors and taking out the trash.

But the signal box is where Jack truly shined. As trains approached the rail switches at the Uitenhage train station, they’d toot their whistle a specific number of times to alert the signalman which tracks to change. By watching his owner, Jack picked up the pattern and started tugging on the levers himself.

As the story goes, one day a posh train passenger staring out the window saw that a baboon, and not a human, was manning the gears and complained to railway authorities. Rather than fire Wide, the railway managers decided to resolve the complaint by testing the baboon’s abilities. They came away astounded.

“Jack knows the signal whistle as well as I do, also every one of the levers,” wrote railway superintendent George B. Howe, who visited the baboon sometime around 1890. “It was very touching to see his fondness for his master. As I drew near they were both sitting on the trolley. The baboon’s arms round his master’s neck, the other stroking Wide’s face.”

Jack was reportedly given an official employment number, and was paid 20 cents a day and half a bottle of beer weekly. Jack passed away in 1890, after developing tuberculosis. He worked the rails for nine years without ever making a mistake—evidence that perfectionism may be more than just a human condition.

    Psstt..Jack, wanna job in government?😆

Twitter Exposing the Real Threat – Leftist Revolution

    From Armstrong Economics –

“The revelations coming from Elon Musk gaining access to Twitter demonstrate that the LEFT is the greatest danger we face to civilization and there is absolutely no reason still stand for the United States to remain as one nation. The hatred of the LEFT is so pervasive it is off the charts – but then again, the LEFT historically always seeks to oppress all opposition.

The LEFT has been the source of countless wars to dominate society. The 1848 Revolutions devastated most of Europe. The American Revolution which lasted 8.37 years and the French Revolutions were against Monarchy – not a LEFTIST philosophy, which rose again during the mid-19th century. What most people have no idea about is that this philosophy of suppressing human nature has been around for a very long time. The 1848 Revolution was precisely on time and our model on LEFTIST Revolutions begins with the birth of Sparta around 889 BC. The very word “SPARTA” means self-restraint. As I have written before, Sparta NEVER issued any coinage. They lived under a rigid oligarchic constitution and this is when they hayed Athens and waged the Peloponnesian War against them for their capitalistic freedom despite the fact that it was Athens that defeated the Persians in 480BC. It was Sparta’s constant LEFTIST philosophy that led to the invasion of Rome in 146 BC and their conquest of the Peloponnese at the Battle of Corinth: The Romans under Lucius Mummius defeated the Achaean League near Corinth. Corinth was destroyed, and the Achaean League dissolved.

Just as the LEFT claimed that Putin interfered in the 2016 election and 70% of Democrats ended up believing that story, even the exposure of ‘RussiaGate’ as a total fraud has not changed the minds of the LEFT – they just ignore the fact. Ironically, CNN went after Trump to remove him from office in 2020 because they were actually manipulating the news back in 2016 always giving Trump more time over 17 other Republicans because they thought he would be the weakest candidate and Hillary would win.

Now we have Musk dumping the Twitter files that reveal once again the LEFT interfered in the election. The latest release of Twitter files reveals that their employees did not believe former President Trump had violated Twitter’s policies. Nonetheless, they yield to the LEFT to ban Trump from Twitter to manipulate the election. This release shows:

“I think we’d have a hard time saying this is incitement.”

They added: “It’s pretty clear he’s saying the ‘American Patriots’ are the ones who voted for him and not the terrorists (we can call them that, right?)…”

Another staffer agreed, writing: “Don’t see the incitement angle here.”

“I also am not seeing clear or coded incitement in the DJT tweet,” was the comment written by Anika Navaroli, the Twitter policy official.

“I’ll respond in the elections channel and say that our team has assessed and found no vios for the DJT one.”

In fact, the LEFT rose up again in Paris for another Revolution. They created the Commune Movement in Paris where there was to be no property and everyone would be happy – i.e. Klaus Schwab & the WEF. Indeed, the very term “Communist” was coined there in Paris. Karl Marx was initially a socialist. It was the French who convinced him that all private property should be owned by the state creating a Commune.

Ironically, the last turning point of or Leftist Revolution Model was in 2009. It was at the WEF in 2019 that they release the Build Back Better slogan for all governments to use. The next one is actually in 2032 but it will start to accelerate from 2024. We can clearly see how polarized society has become. This is also the Sixth Wave so we are looking at a major attempt to suppress society under the same philosophy pf the Oligarchy that seized control of Sparta. The elites are behind this own and they always make it sound like they are doing this for us. But in truth, this is all about their power and total control.”

    California Unleashing Nationwide Crime Wave

    From Armstrong Economics –

“California has infected the United States as a whole for its insane policies have led to contagions that have unleashed a serious crime wave nationwide. Just Google “Shoplifting in San Francisco” and you will find more than 100,000 hits. This has become a real contagion spreading nationwide. You will also find many YouTube videos showing people just walking in and stealing whatever they want. This has escalated to whole gangs walking into an SF Walgreens or CVS and actually emptying the shelves. They are not prosecuted and they just walk out. At least one thief rode their bike into the store and departed the same way.

What is erupting is many current and former CEOs have issued warnings that this crime wave in California has spread to New York and many other cities. They are warning that this increase in retail thefts across the United States will contribute to INFLATION forcing higher prices, but it is also impacting areas as stores just give up and close. In fact, in June of 2021, nearly 50% of small businesses remained closed. Walgreens has been closing down stores in San Francisco on a grand scale. Between this and all the illegal aliens learning they do not have to pay for things in San Francisco, what was a nice safe city has turned into a place that is no longer the hot spot for tourists.

Perhaps this is given new meaning to Tony Bennett’s hit song – I left My Heart in San Francisco.”

Elbow has loads of your Taxpayer Money to throw away

    Payment was a crime:

Linda Reynolds ‘muzzled’ in Brittany Higgins lawsuit defence.

The Albanese government muzzled former Liberal minister Linda Reynolds in her defence against Brittany Higgins’ multimillion-dollar lawsuit, threatening to tear up an agreement to pay her legal fees and any costs awarded unless she agreed not to attend a mediation.

Ms Higgins reached a confidential settlement with the commonwealth, believed to be worth up to $3m, at the mediation on Tuesday over the former staffer’s claims she was not supported by Senator Reynolds or Liberal Party frontbencher Michaelia Cash after the alleged sexual assault by Bruce Lehrmann in Parliament House.

Senator Reynolds is understood to have been determined to defend herself against Ms Higgins’ allegations but in correspondence obtained by The Australian, the commonwealth’s lawyers told her she could not take part in the mediation.

Senator Reynolds was therefore unable to dispute any of Ms Higgins’ allegations about a failure to support her or properly investigate the incident, some of which were contested at Mr Lehrmann’s trial.

Clayton Utz partner Ashley Tsacalos noted a provision in the Legal Services Directions that “settlement is not to be effected merely because of the cost of defending what is a spurious claim” and must be on the basis of written advice from the Australian Government Solicitor “that the settlement is in accordance with legal principle and practice”.

It is not known whether the AGS provided such advice.

The commonwealth’s lawyers had also demanded they take control of Senator Reynolds’ defence – even though the commonwealth had previously claimed it was unable to provide legal advice or act for her, forcing her to employ her own legal team.

Dr Tsacalos questioned whether Anthony Albanese, Attorney-General Mark Dreyfus or Finance Minister Katie Gallagher had the power to impose conditions under the parliamentary regulations “in circumstances where all have previously made public statements supporting Ms Higgins and her version of events”.

NACC should look into the hasty Higgins payout CHRIS MERRITT

      6:42PM December 15, 2022

On Monday of this week, the legislation creating the National Anti-Corruption Commission came into effect – just in time for Tuesday’s extraordinary financial settlement between Brittany Higgins and the federal government.

It is difficult to see how the Higgins settlement complies with the longstanding rules governing the way the federal government is supposed to deal with monetary claims.

It is also difficult to see how those responsible for this settlement could not perceive that outlaying taxpayers’ money in breach of those rules might trigger the interest of regulators – including the National Anti-Corruption Commission.

Handing out public money in breach of the rules fits the definition of a financial scandal.

It might also come within the definition of corruption that has just been approved by parliament at the urging of the Attorney-General, Mark Dreyfus.

The rules governing financial settlements and claims against the government are outlined in the Legal Services Directions. But because they are unenforceable, any past settlements that did not comply with the rules had few consequences for the officials involved.

But from Monday, the conduct of public officials who settle monetary claims against the government – like all areas of public administration – has been brought within the jurisdiction of the corruption watchdog, the NACC.

And that is where this week’s settlement with Higgins might end up.

The payout was made without a finding of wrongdoing against anyone.

It was also made without the involvement of former Liberal ministers Michaelia Cash and Linda Reynolds, who were accused of wrongdoing by Higgins.

Thanks to a report in The Australian on Thursday, it is now known that the Albanese government threatened to tear up an agreement to pay Reynolds’ legal fees and costs unless she agreed not to attend that mediation.

Just consider that for a moment: a former minister was subjected to financial coercion which prevented her from testing accusations that had been made against her by Higgins.

That was reprehensible. It looks like an attempt to nobble this process so it would unfairly favour Higgins and financially disadvantage the Commonwealth.

People who skipped their COVID vaccine are at higher risk of traffic accidents, according to a new study

    Erin Prater
    Wed, December 14, 2022

If you passed on getting the COVID vaccine, you might be a lot more likely to get into a car crash.

Or at least those are the findings of a new study published this month in The American Journal of Medicine. During the summer of 2021, Canadian researchers examined the encrypted government-held records of more than 11 million adults, 16% of whom hadn’t received the COVID vaccine.

They found that the unvaccinated people were 72% more likely to be involved in a severe traffic crash—in which at least one person was transported to the hospital—than those who were vaccinated. That’s similar to the increased risk of car crashes for people with sleep apnea, though only about half that of people who abuse alcohol, researchers found.

“India experienced a unique, sudden, unprecedented and extraordinarily large excess all-cause mortality event in April-July 2021, which is not adequately explained as a “second wave” or as being caused by a new variant of concern. After an overview of four recently published studies that have quantified the April-July 2021 excess all-cause mortality event, we give ten numbered arguments as to why we conclude that the extraordinary mortality event was caused by India’s vaccine rollout in its early stages. Therefore, it appears that the early rollout of the vaccine in India in April-July 2021 was devastating, causing the deaths of approximately 3.7 million residents, on administering approximately 350 million doses of the vaccine.”

While wholly ignoring the African experience, U.S. media are now trying to scare people into taking additional shots for fall by warning of an incoming “tripledemic” of COVID, flu and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV)

The tripledemic narrative is scientifically implausible. Respiratory viruses tend to interfere with each other’s spread, such that one typically ends up dominating

where relentless propaganda ensures support for brutal wars

Let’s hope the Russkies reading it end up with a better understanding than the Australian’s reporter. Were there actual wars at all? I never thought so. Could you really fight Eastasia one week and then have them as your allies the next? I never thought so. It was never more than an announcement, an example of doublethink. The bombs that rained down on Oceania were surely launched from Oceania. It also seemed likely that the divisions with Eurasia and Eastasia were not real, drawn only to serve as Mencken style hobgoblins to menace the people.

Oh yes; however did we survive -18C back in the early-ish 80s when we were living in an unimproved Army quarter? It had draughty single-glazed metal-framed windows, those ghastly huge, ugly useless storage heaters and a very small garden. Our youngest son wanted to go and play out in the snow but was refused permission by us as you couldn’t see across the short garden because of the thickness of the blizzard. It was also the time when I could defrost our small freezer and just sling the contents out into the snow overnight!

Here- You can “Cut through the noise of federal politics with news, views and expert analysis from Jacqueline Maley.” ..and get pure propaganda to block out any blips of intelligence occuring.. From the Socialist Morning Herald-

“Labor MP Peter Khalil, the chair of the Parliamentary Joint Committee on Intelligence and Security, yesterday said it was important to disrupt the “pipeline towards extremism” at its source.” and “it is absolutely clear from events here and around the world that conspiracy theories, disinformation and misinformation problems as old as time are being turbocharged by technology into terrible acts of violence”

ie, freedom of expression on the internet leading to people disagreeing with the official view of life. So the obvious answer is-

“Dutton said the opposition would support the government introducing any measures to make it easier for law enforcement to access encrypted apps, where a lot of discussion surrounding conspiracy theories takes place.”

or in 5 words instead of a paragraph, ‘No privacy for the people’. We already have many websites being banned by the legislation passed a decade ago, you can expect this censorship to widen. We even get this old chesnut being thrown around, the Right-Thinking Australian!

“[That] should be of concern to any right-thinking Australian,”

..and of course, never let a good crises go past without pushing for more gun control-

“Government open to national firearm registry”

…and to pour more oil on the fire-

“He linked them to “anti-vaccination agendas, conspiracy theories and anti-government sovereign citizen beliefs”…. “As a society, we must wonder how these evil collective delusions can thrive in our midst.”……”The unhinged fantasies of extremist conspiracy theories are an increasingly serious threat to society.”…”this account has posted insane claims that the Port Arthur massacre in 1996 was a false flag operation by police designed to justify tougher anti-gun laws.”

Funny how these conspiracy theories turn out to be true.

Looking below those fusion headlines –

    “Don’t Fall For It”

    [Comments enabled]

Breathlessly, I tell you, breathlessly, over-unity fusion has been achieved!

Don’t buy that bullshit; they’re lying.

Specifically its crap until you can show me all of the following:”

    More at https://market-ticker.org/akcs-www?post=247626

    Conclusion –

“So the laser beams contained 2.05MJ of energy but the unit consumed 300 MJ of energy to produce the 2.05 MJ of laser beams that was aimed at the target.

In other words they produced about 1% of the energy they put in, not 120%.

The blunt word for what was allegedly reported, in other words, is bullshit.”

Seems the announcement coincides with a push for a big money bill through Congress/Senate

Judith Curry is on the warpath.

‘Extreme weather events have become an increasingly important part of the climate alarm narrative since 2005, but kids didn’t start getting “psychologically injured” until the climate communicators and “educators” took this to the next higher level.

‘The timing of this started around 2017, following the increasingly apocalyptic rhetoric from UN officials and national leaders in support of the Paris Agreement and the coincident formation of the Sunrise Movement, Extinction Rebellion, etc.’ (Climate Etc)

Intuitively I sense a bipolar seesaw, captured in the ice cores.

‘The other interesting response of CO2 from Greenland ice cores is during the colder centennial 8.2 kyr and Younger Dryas events. Greenland CO2 decreases 50 ppm below the Antarctic CO2 composite during the 8.2 kyr event.

‘Antarctic CO2 data does not even recognize the 8.2 kyr event and shows a gradual decrease during the entire glaciation stage. No theories are published as to why Greenland CO2 is depleted or lower than Antarctic CO2 during cooling events.’ (Renee Hannon/ CO2 Science)

Re Bowens price cap for gas and coal…
Anyone heard if the cap on gas price ($12 per gJ ?) ..will apply to bulk/ bottled LPG ?
Currently LPG is about $2.0 / ltr in bulk for domestic use ($1.20/ltr at the servo pump),.
As 1 ltr is 0.51 kg, or 25 MJ, that is currently $80.0 /gJ ..!!
I am sure there are as many folk relying on lpg for heating and cooking , as there are on mains gas supply .

After SARS, in 2002 the US DoD started a research project to determine the best defense against another coronal virus outbreak.

US defense research found in 2015 that Ivermectin was the best therapeutic defense against corona viruses. The DoD forwarded their research and recommendation to the CDC.

They knew that Ivermectin & Hydroxychloroquine worked, in 2015 based on US department of defense research.
