Lauren Boebert leads effort to defund Biden Administration’s ‘disinformation’ board

Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., has authored legislation to shut down a new Department of Homeland Security board designed to police misinformation. Boebert’s legislation would defund the “Disinformation Governance Board” and ensure the federal government doesn’t have role in defining what truth is for the American people.

“‘It is our duty to shut down this department immediately,’ Boebert tells Fox News Digital.

We'll let you know the next thing to be afraid of as soon as we can find the right Disney song.

In other news, which may or may not be disinformation, Brett Sutton — former Chief Health Body of Victoria just said something very odd. He was explaining why people need an influenza jab this winter in Australia:

In fact for people who are vaccinated against  Covid it [influenza] might be a much more significant illness… with the high fevers, the terrible headaches, …can’t get off the couch. People genuinely feel like they have been hit by a truck.

The full 5 minute interview is here, for context. Did he mean to say that?

Did he mean to say that?

He may have accidentally by my experience revealed the truth. Certainly has been a nasty cold with some Flu like symptoms. These symptoms appear to persist in the vaccinated households. Is this because they are in the trough and still receive the largesse of the Australian people to sit home and watch Netflix and the Project, while those silly enough to work for a living do not have the inclination to purchase a RAT and test for the cold virus?

The free RATs are certainly keeping those who lives revolve between Centre Link, Doctor, Maccas and the Pharmacy busy trying to work out when they will be eligible for the next free test kit.

Having watched the video in Jo’s link “for context”. I wonder if he was talking in the context of the question which was about telling the difference between having covid or the flu.

I think he was suggesting that covid vaccinated people won’t have severe covid symptoms but their flu symptoms might have them feeling like you’ve been hit by a truck. So if you’re feeling that way you may have flu and not covid. I don’t think he was saying your flu symptoms will be exacerbated by being covid vaccinated.

      .

(BTW, for anyone who hasn’t seen the interview, Jo’s quote of “can’t get off the cough” was meant to be “couch”. But you prob figured that out anyway)

I agree, anecdotally there does seem to lingering “cold” symptoms. Particularly amongst the younger 20-35 year age in our circle of association, with them and saying their circles of friends / work colleagues seem to have trouble shaking off a cold. But testing negative to covid.

This gives weight to the interpretation that Sutton let slip that covid vacs may exacerbate flu symptoms. But I think my interpretation in the above comment was his intent.

Yes, Brett Sutton was suggesting that for people who have been vaccinated for CoV-2 and who subsequently had a covid infection, an influenza infection could feel like the more serious illness.

            Are you Brett Sutton ?

I don’t have to be Brett Sutton to understand his argument, even when I disagree with it.
For instance, he claims that the vaccine is “fantastic protection against being in hospital and being in ICU” when here in NSW government reports have indicated that once you are hospitalised with Covid then you have an increased risk of being admitted to ICU (and of death) if you are vaccinated.

Hospitalised – ICU – Death. Disease is a matter of ‘the seed and the soil’ as a medical teacher used to tell his students.

Maybe those that have a history of being pretreated with therapeutics (sold to us as vaccines), who end up in hospital, may have received an overwhelming dose of COVID-19 for which the therapies couldn’t effectively cope and they progress through the stages to death.

Those patients not treated prior to becoming infected would compose a group of people without the resistance of the therapies – the placebo group if you like – and are reflecting what is the more typical path of the disease when no pretreatment assistance has been taken.

The ‘vaccinated’ group would now represent the bulk of patients and would be providing most of those presenting for hospitalisation. They would also most likely be a health diverse group containing most people that have health/immune problems.

Interestingly, one is receiving more reports of people actually being reinfected with COVID-19 only a few weeks or months after they have had a prior COVID-19 infection. So much for natural immunity being expected to provide a long period of protective immunity. Not sure of the prior therapeutics histories.

It would seem that the TGA should be challenged vigorously again on the decision to ban the use of cheap therapies when coping with such an infection. Surely by now there must be peer reviewed articles on this big enough to fill a truck. I’m not into journals anymore but the silence in the msm on this continuing topic of interest is underwhelming.

It’s receiving the same official protective treatment that Climate Change owns. Hard to know why. Everyone is totally interested in receiving the best available treatments to handle COVID-19 and being able to get on with life. The disease is real and present but is being treated by officialdom as though it is an ‘unproven to exist’ theoretical problem like Anthropogenic Global Warming where the theory is not expected to be proven for another century or well beyond. No debate tolerated.

Context would be scientific support for his ‘advice’. Some such context would provide a guideline for comments by these Government experts so they would not flail around about pizza cartons or generally wander off script and create confusion.

Naomi Wolfe (dailyclout.io) appears to be helping to collate the scientific advice from Pfizer’s 55,000 documents. So far this advice does not give any credibility to the ‘Clot Shots’ being safe or effective and in fact may give more credibility to the Sutton’s Freudian Slip? than the Morrison’ Government’s advertisements promoting vaccination. Maybe Dangerous & Useless would be a better description on top of you will still couch (sic).

Decades of hostility by the Left toward, freedom, free speech and democracy have made sure a lot of people no longer value these things. (That statement applies worldwide.)

In the US without Trump, the Left are now basically free to do as they please. No government has caused as much damage to the US in so little as the Biden regime.

Trump was also a worldwide influence against the Left, now all Western Governments are acting toward fully implementing Leftist policies.

There was an interesting comment by Mayorkis to the effect that the government would not be doing any censoring of speech.

My take on that is that the government does not need to do the censoring itself. It can rely on big tech to do that job. The government will simply point out things big tech might be interested in looking at. That kind of public-private joint venture has been going on for some time.

Two points of caution. First is that while people are focused on this issue the powers that be will have dozens of other plans for the programmed destruction of society progressing with less scrutiny than they deserve. Second is that the powers that be will do what they deny anyway.

The price of freedom is eternal vigilance. Because the forces of evil never sleep.

      And

      Definition of thoughtcrime:

Thoughtcrime is a word coined by George Orwell in his 1949 dystopian novel Nineteen Eighty-Four. It describes a person’s politically unorthodox thoughts, such as unspoken beliefs and doubts that contradict the tenets of Ingsoc (English Socialism), the dominant ideology of Oceania.

On the matter of truth. There is another beauty by Peter Garret about presented policies in an election campaign that were concerning people: To paraphrase. ‘Don’t worry, after the election we will change it all!’ It presumed a win obviously, but seems it set the precedent to now be the mantra of the major political parties. It’s barely better than the current method of censorship and cancellation behind which governments and activists hide.

Interesting, our own Defence Minister has been accused of spreading disinformation.

Speaking of Mr Dutton, Mr Wang said: “Certain Australian politicians are clinging to the Cold War mentality and smearing China with rumours to sow discord between China and countries it has friendly ties with. We regret and firmly oppose such moves.

“The politicians should earnestly face up to the concerns of people at home and abroad, instead of spreading disinformation to disparage China for their own political gains.”

Surely the next step is the need for a UN Disinformation Council to assess claims of disinformation from every country.

We are now finding out how much a new virus – natural or artificial – can compromise immune systems which have been eroded by decades of wrongfood, poor fitness, unhelpful medicines & lack of sunlight/vitamin D. Enough so that any subsequent infection leads to serious illness.

      What?

Did you need to know the cause of your runny nose prior to 2020. What is the cure to both as recommended by the medical profession, Panadol?

You testaholics are the cause of our dilemma’s, what is the point of getting tested apart from virtue signalling, I got the plague. Just get a script from your doctor for Remdesivir (safe and effective) and go home and self administer along with all the other cures you are self administering.

I think you misunderstand me. I think it is important to understand precisely how much of a real threat the Kung Flu is. Personally, I think it is not so dangerous (to otherwise healthy individuals) that a risky, experimental ‘vaccine’ should be forced onto people. Consequently, if the actual risk is to be quantified, we mustn’t allow ‘flu etc to be conflated with Covid, especially when calculating serious cases and deaths.

We need to go back pre 2020, your not sick unless you have symptoms and you don’t need a test to tell you, you are sick.
The government has admitted stacking the deck and that 50% of hospitalised COVID cases are in for other reasons like broken bones, they tested positive while there.
NSW health have stated, if you recovered from a positive test in the 28 days prior to hospital admission, you are a COVID admission even if the reason for admission is you fell off your bike and broke your arm. Calculating, they are literally making it up, if you die from an infection due to your broken arm you are still a COVID death

This is what you testaholics are inflicting on the non hypochondriac portion of our society, COVID, flu the cure is the same, none. Nobody else cares what gave you a runny nose.

Its a casedemic created by those afraid of their own shadows.

Look at China, 2 COVID deaths this year, yet a hundred million in isolation because of positive tests, unless we wake up this will be coming to a country near you.

No good comes from being tested, none, stop it!

“I believe we should start actually testing for influenza now”

Just to repeat. We’ve been testing for influenza every day since this pandemic began and in mass numbers. Here’s the report for Western Australia for the week ending April 24th, 2022:

“Of the 922 specimens submitted for influenza PCR testing at PathWest in the past week, two tested positive (Figure 5). “

For two years doctors have been sending in 500 -700 samples for tests most weeks in WA (it’s probably similar in every state) and finding zero positive results. 0.00000 cases. There has been no influenza in WA at all since June 2020.

It was textbook microbiology. The Ro of influenza is only 1.4. Any restrictions for a disease with a higher Ro would wipe out influenza. The tests are all PCR Tests which easily differentiate different Flu’s and covid and RSV, metapneumovirus etc. But of course, most flu cases were never tested. The “death toll” to flu is often modeled and guessed.

I’m not saying all tests are useful, — only that Influenza was really wiped out. It’s really back. It may or may not be a bad season — though I’d expect it may worse than usual given the lack of recent infections. We normally get lifelong immunity to each strain of the flu (unlike coronaviruses), but I’ve seen evidence that catching the flu generically “boosts” our immune systems against other things (as do many other infections). There was even a slight overlap with recent flu’s and one small part of the Delta variant spike, which may explain some prior immunity to Delta-covid (some asymptomatic infections), but doesn’t seem to apply now with Omicron. The cross-over with Delta and H1N1 influenza only appeared to apply to recent infections. Nearly everyone has caught H1N1 by now (aka swine flu) but not everyone had asymptomatic protection against Delta.

I’ve also seen evidence suggesting that the original wuhan spike (in both viruses and vaccines) is likely to reduce interferon responses (which we need to fight infections and cancers), and may affect DNA repair and other aspects of immunity. That may mean people catching Covid or getting the vaccine may have reduced immunity in a generic sense. For how long? Could adequate Vitamin D, A, Zn, Se etc make up for some of the deficit? A billion dollar question.

There is much to be concerned about.

Yes : There is much to be concerned about .
Perhaps Brett Sutton had been reading this paper and had a Freudian slip :

Innate immune suppression by SARS-CoV-2 mRNA vaccinations: The role of G-quadruplexes, exosomes, and MicroRNAs
“In this paper, we present evidence that vaccination induces a profound impairment in type I interferon signaling, which has diverse adverse consequences to human health.”
They go pretty deep here and I can’t claim that I understand it all but I understand enough of it to be pretty concerned for the future of those unlucky enough to have been coerced into taking the mRNA experimental jab .
This is bad enough but from what I read there are other things in those injections that do harm in their own way as well . What a hellish cocktail !
We may be heading towards a nightmare ! Hope I am wrong , maybe our very complex immune system has a trick up it’s sleeve that will save those that have been jabbed .

I get Steve of C’s point (and I think he clarified it in his next comment). I also get yours. We never test for Flu, you have these symptoms, go home and take Panadol.

My whole family has Covid according to the RAT’s. I was looking up the relative symptoms of Covid, Cold and Flu. Most seem to match the flu (albeit pretty mild). I’m not sure about accuracy of the RATs and whether they actually can tell the difference between the three (read it somewhere, probably on Jo’s blog). To be able to clearly differentiate between the three is important so that we don’t call the Flu, Covid and give it more traction.

Just for the interest of those who maybe interested, my wife and I are both vaccinated, though not by choice. She had a Pfizer for her 1st that nearly killed her but not nearly enough to get a total exemption. She had Novovax with an immunologist for her 2nd (no issues). My workplace didn’t mandate the vax so I was able to hold out for Novovax so I can attend hospital visits with her due to the complications of Pfizer. Son is 15 and there is no way he is getting Pfizer if it becomes mandatory again.

He recovered from Covid in a few days (just milking the rest of his isolation time). Wife is two days behind him and I’m two days behind her. More annoying than anything.

So obviously, the vaccines don’t protect against Omicron. Did they have any effect? I’ve had the Fluvax every year for about five years now and never caught it. I haven’t had my Flu shot yet this year.

The whole question of testing is a minefield of complexity and misleading info. It does matter if half of the positive tests in hospital are “accidental”. But if we are prepared to accept that the Wuflu spike in the vax might cause heart attacks, car accidents (through sudden clots / strokes / etc) for months after vaccination, it’s also possible that the virus could cause these too. Illness (even asymptomatic) can cause fatigue. Fatigue causes car accidents. etc etc. A bioweapon spike is a bioweapon spike.

I’m sure for all variants up to Omicron that infection increased people’s risk of ending up in hospital from other things (like heart attacks and car accidents). But on the other hand, we also know a lot of people caught the virus in hospital, and since Omicron is so infectious that may explain many omicron cases.

So Omicron may well be extremely harmless, the hospital caseloads being accidental looks like a great sign. But we don’t know for sure (where is the data) whether there are longer term effects from even asymptomatic Omicron infections. Does it suppress the immune system for a while, does it increase the risk of clotting slightly, or fatigue, or sleep problems or fertility, or kidney function, or the incidence of diabetes? There is evidence previous variants did have effects on some of these. Obviously Omicron’s not having a huge effect or we would have seen it, but if it increased risks by 10% or 20% in the year following infection we won’t know that yet.

Obviously, at this point, I have little faith in normal institutions to provide answers to what are complicated, difficult and politically loaded questions. Sigh.

I have no idea what is causing the issues, spike or some added extra, after all we are not told what’s in them and we are not permitted to know. Informed consent, that fact alone should of made everyone’s hair stand on end.
That Pfizer paper (9 pages) showed they knew what to expect and Long COVID sprung into action to deflect the blame. Seriously they put some effort into the naming and the best they came up with for the COVID LP version was Long, but easy for us simple folk to understand.
They have the data, they are not showing the data and there is a reason for that, omission, as El Diablo says on your next post, omission is propaganda.
Then there is the PCR CT used in Aus, 35 to 45, why a range, why not just an upper limit after all your just looking for a detection point. Fauci himself stated anything above a CT of 35 is “dead Nucleotides, period.”
So infectious they removed contract tracing, zero isolation period for close contacts, zero masks except where it makes no sense, this has never made sense.

              Can’t sit in the park?
              Can’t stand in the pub?

    Interesting related story:

“Benjamin Franklin, ever the optimist even at the age of 81, gave what was for him a remarkably restrained assessment in his final speech before the Constitutional Convention: “…when you assemble a number of men to have the advantage of their joint wisdom, you inevitably assemble with those men, all their prejudices, their passions, their errors of opinion, their local interests, and their selfish views.” He thought it impossible to expect a “perfect production” from such a gathering, but he believed that the Constitution they had just drafted, “with all its faults,” was better than any alternative that was likely to emerge.”

    From: https://constitutioncenter.org/learn/educational-resources/historical-documents/perspectives-on-the-constitution-a-republic-if-you-can-keep-it

    See also:

    https://www.professorbuzzkill.com/franklin-republic/

“A Republic, if you can keep it”, is the usual “summary”. Basically: NOT A MONARCHY. Unsurprisingly, the role of the US president has been steadily “nudged” towards a monarchical model for DECADES. NOBODY makes that kind of “investment” without expecting a serious “dividend”.

The USA was NOT set up as a “Democracy”, but as a REPUBLIC. The two terms have been “blended”, primarily to cause numb confusion. Think: “Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea”, THE role model for terminal statists everywhere.

Note also that, here in Terror Oztralis, Feral elections are increasingly like “presidential” elections every time we are expected to do our “civic duty”. It has become just another multi-billion dollar, team sports match; we pay, they select.

The concept of ‘the wisdom of crowds’ remains valid. But it relies on the opinion of each person in the crowd being honestly expressed and having equal weighting. Unfortunately these days, political parties are not full of a myriad of ideas. They are full of a myriad of people chosen because of their support for a single party ideal. If they express a different idea they are out of the party.
The fact that in the US not a single Democrat has expressed concern about the Ministry of Disinformation, and the clown chosen to run it, is shocking. For 100s of lawmakers to think this is even remotely consistent with democracy and western ideals would have been unthinkable even 10 years ago.

But the virus had already been released in multiple sites across the world.

        91

        • #

What evidence do you have it was deliberately released in “multiple sites”. I’ve seen evidence that people flew internationally to a few places with it in Dec 2019, but the earliest variants of Covid were cluster spreaders and 4 out 5 spreading incidents spread to 0 people. It had to knock on the door many times before it found a superspreader and gained a foothold, and we had plenty of warning. The WHO could easily have stopped the spread and the entire pandemic which was exactly what they were set up to do.

It took a lot of natural selection to create a variant that spread more easily and reliably, but we were stupid to give it the chance to do that.

Even though Australia waited criminally until March 21st 2020 to actually stop the damn flights, we still got back to zero (at a cost). Though if we’d stopped the flights a few weeks earlier it would have been cheaper and easier and required no lockdowns. If the US and UK also stopped the flights from china we could have all kept flying to each other and every “zero” nation. Oh, but the USA needs that goddamn wall.

To avoid lockdowns, masks and forced vaccines, we need to plan ahead. Just say “no” to bioweapons. Say “no” to corrupt UN agencies. Say yes to hard borders and yes to antivirals and natural supplements.

I agree wholeheartedly with most of this Jo.
However let’s not forget Viramin D deficiency, and the role of personal hygiene.
I spent a weeks isolation with my wife and one other person in Melbourne recently. She tested +ve and we all had PCR tests and went into lockdown. The other person and I never had symptoms – we both tested -ve right through. I have been taking Vit D and using saline nasal rinse with some iodine povidone in it. As has the other two after my wife tested +ve. Her symptoms were not severe, she never had high temp. or low oxygen sats. We are now home again and leading a “normal” life.

We were travelling in NZ late 2019 when the news about the novel virus was breaking. I said to her then; this looks very serious the authorities need to get on to it straight away or it’s going to be a big deal. If I could see it why the hell couldn’t they?

Even the best of us, who are still capable of critical thinking, fall victim to the pervasive MSM propaganda to shape our frames of reference.

2019 World military games in October 2019 held in Wuhan China: many athletes returned to their home countries with an unidentified respiratory infection.
China even attempted to frame this as a U.S. attempt to attack China with CV19. A hard sell since they would have also have intended to infect most free-world military members (including their own). They (and their fellow-travelers in the western press) later worked hard to label the more obvious conjecture a “conspiracy theory”. I recall in early 2020 that France tested samples they saved from their soccer team and concluded that it seemed to be covid or a very similar virus.

Brave Search for “2019 World Military Games China” returns several interesting links, among them:
            https://www.insidethegames.biz/articles/1094347/world-military-games-illness-covid-19

            10

            • #

I’ve already written about the release at the Military Games. .

Did you know the Chinese deleted their Bat Coronavirus database even earlier on Sept 12th? Read my post. Odd eh?

The early variants of Covid –if it was released at the Military Games — as seems circumstantially likely — were not properly infectious. It appears it took another couple of months to circulate and “improve”. There are reports of savage pneumonia’s in November 2019 in Wuhan.

As for China blaming the US which seemed so comical once, we now know the US gave them the tech, and some of the funds, and helped them cover it up. (see Peter Daszek of Ecohealth). It’s not totally ridiculous to suggest that some US agents (Big Pharma, the military complex) might have stood to benefit if a virus was released suspiciously close to the WIV and China was blamed on it. I’ve no evidence for that, just motive and means. If you were going to “frame” China, then setting it loose next to the WIV is pretty obvious. Of course, if China wanted to pretend it was a natural leak, they might do the same. Plausible deniability.

And do you think that the corrupt people who ban safe drugs and approve risky unneccessary vaccinations in children would care less about injuring some athletes?

Somehow, kids in Europe in the 40s dealt with a war that was actually killing their friends and families, being sent away from families in the cities for their own safety, and severe food rationing – but today’s kids can’t deal with a few months off school.

Joe Biden has become Joe Btfsplk. In March 2022, the US had its largest monthly goods trade deficit in its history, $126 billion as well as its largest federal, consumer, and company debt in history. US and world interest rates are now rapidly rising and stock market crashes (poor countries, followed by the US) are starting to happen.

The Chinese are now paying for Russian coal and oil in yuan. China has control of all of the key metals and has secured its energy supplies. The Russian invasion of Ukraine has enable the Chinese to secure the Russian oil, gas, and coal for itself. It is truly amazing that all of the countries governments and military are asleep.

I think it is pretty clear what he intended to communicate, i.e. he was implying that the Covid vaccines make the experience of Covid as something not as bad as the flu (i.e. get the jab), and by this, perhaps implying that you might also like to get a flu shot as well.

Now, obviously, what he said can be parsed in a number of ways, but the above is the most reasonable interpretation given what his job. Trying to turn it into some admission that the Covid vaccine is making people’s experiences of other viral infections worse just makes one look a bit of a nut grasping at straws. It may well be true, and there certainly seems to be some data that points towards it, but he isn’t going to say it.
