Petition to remove air conditioning from all US State Property

You know it makes sense — air conditioners are as dangerous as suicide bombers. They must be stopped. Next up, refrigerators…

Here’s a petition you can support:  Do it for the children, for the future.

Remove air conditioning from all US State Department property.

John Kerry, Airconditioners, ISIS

WHEREAS, Secretary of State John F. Kerry has suggested that air conditioners are as big a threat as ISIS, and

WHEREAS, it is the duty of our elected and appointed government officials to lead by example,

THEREFORE, we call upon the U.S. Department of State to remove air conditioning from all property that the Department owns, rents, or otherwise employs, including but not limited to embassies, consulates, office buildings, etc., all vehicles owned and/or operated by the Department, and any other property, real or movable, owned, rented, or otherwise employed by the Department.

Hopalong Ginsberg started this petition, and 2,500 people have spoken up already.  To sign the petition go to Change.org…

This could help in so many ways.

Imagine if the petition was actually carried forward and implemented. It would mean the spoiling and destruction of a lot if food products to the extent it would lead to countless human lives being lost throughout the world – perhaps millions. With people like you who needs ISIS? No John Kerry, YOU are far more dangerous than ISIS. You have to resign.

Why does the US department of State use Air conditioners if CFCs Properly used are such a grave threat? Only John Kerry make such a mockery of science that he would not recognize if it crawled up and bit him.

Well I cant see how it could happen – US govt employees are governed by numerous Occupational Health And Safety regulations that would also have to be rewritten to allow hot and uncomfortable working conditions …. and then all you would need is one employee to go off sick from the heat and and sue successfully and it would open a litigation free-for-all….lawyers would bankrupt city hall in no time…

Another beacon of loco-green “initiative” – one of Australia’s well known govt buildsing in Canberra in a flash of green optimism decdided to trial water free urinals…..

Of course the urinals used copper pipes, and urine is quite the corrosive material in its raw undiluted state ….so after a few leaks of the non-political type, intelligence was reinstated and the water useage resumed…but not before the voyage of courageous green frontiersmen & women had left its mark…on the carpet, that is….

I’m not going to confirm whether or not there’s a gap or not a gap, or where the gaps are. There obviously are gaps.”

“I’m working hard to ensure that by the end of my tenure, we will have lesbian, bisexual, and transgender ambassadors in our ranks as well.”
      John Kerry, June 19, 2014

“I just don’t agree that a majority are al Qaeda and the bad guys. That’s not true. There are about 70,000 to 100,000 oppositionists … Maybe 15 percent to 25 percent might be in one group or another who are what we would deem to be bad guys. There is a real moderate opposition that exists. General Idriss is running the military arm of that.”

Considering that it’s likely that the vast majority of Americans can’t afford air conditioners and that the caring Left will be very reluctant to give up their luxuries, in order to lead the way, I’m not sure that this will gain much traction.

      30

      • #

Whose homes? And there’s a difference between owning one and being able to afford to run one. I’m sure that every resident of the UK has a heater, but as is now evident, many can’t afford to run them. Quite frankly, where I live, if we had to rely on electricity or bottled gas for our winter heating, instead of wood heating, we couldn’t afford to do so.

But wasn’t Kerry only referring to the elimination of the HFC gases as being similar to the battle against ISIS?

Ridiculous hyperbole all the same, but there are alternative gases to use in air conditioners and refrigeration units.

If a petition like this was to succeed, and let me tell you, it would have zero chance at all of ever being implemented, but pretend it did, and was then agreed to, it would last one whole day, if that long at all.

Every single one of those Federal Government buildings would be totally and utterly uninhabitable as workplaces after a few hours, if that, Summer, Winter, any time at all. Turn off those airconditioning units and there goes breathing air inside those buildings.

So then, what level of power consumption are we talking about?

Let’s just look at DC alone and the two States bordering on DC, Maryland and Virginia. All three of these have the greatest number of Federal Buildings, and they are classified as Commercial electricity consumers.

Go and look at the Table at this link, (pdf document of only a page and a half)

Scroll down to the heading South Atlantic and note those three States under that area, DC, Maryland, and Virginia. Look at the second column Average Monthly Consumption (kWh).

DC is more than double that of the next highest, Maryland, with Virginia close behind Maryland.

These three States have the highest consumption (by a very long way) than for any other State.

Nearly all of that power consumption is from federal buildings, in DC and the two surrounding States.

Keep in mind that this is the average, and a lot of those consumers are single shopping store occupiers whose consumption is very low, so some of them must be huge to bring that average up to such a high total.

Where you see that average at a Monthly total for DC of 26,919KWH per Month, keep in mind that the U.S. average for a Residence, (family home) is only 911KWH per Month.

They would have to reinstate fireplaces in every room along with coal storage bins.
All the air-con clutter on building roofs will be replaced by chimneys.
All the people space in the building on the higher floors will be filled by chimneys from the lower floors.
( I know where there are huge quantities of second-hand bricks to build the chimneys with. They’ve all been tested in earthquakes and almost all of the bricks survived. Shame about the buildings. 🙂 )

First person in, every morning, opens and locks all the ground floor doors wide open, opens all the fire-stop doors on their floor especially those to the stair wells, and lights the fires.
The fires will draw the required air in.

Right, that takes care of the warming.
      Now for the coolong:
Windows which open and close are to be retro-fitted to replace all outside windows..

I’ll take the contracts! Shoddy Structural Holdings to the rescue! Or you can contact Natural Building Conditioning Limited (for Heating and Cooling the natural way). They’re a wholly owned subsidiary but don’t let that stop you. .

Heating and Coolong now comes down to the balance between opened windows and burning fires. Internal politics over the desired temperature(s) will ensure no work will ever be done.
This will be known as The Great Kerry Pause.

How many years of that would it take to bring back the famous Pea-Soupers? 🙂
(or the Kerry Black Fogs …)
      🙂

Tony really laid out the bait for this one!

The Political Capitol Complex in District of Columbia, aka , Washington DC has had its own coal burning but now mostly gas burning power plant.
It was set up in 1910 and supplied electrical power and heat plus chilled water through a water reticulated system into the various Capitol buildings.

It ceased supplying electrical power to the Capitol buildings in 1952 but is still operational to provide heating and coolling so as to keep the Senators and House representatives in the very comfortable environment and style to which they have become habitually accustomed.

As below it will be rebuilt to again generate power and still be used to continue both heating and chilling the Capitol Complex buildings.

No blackouts or brown outs will be allowed to intrude on the comfort of the political elite in Washington DC and its Senators and the House Representatives and the President and the Secretary of State as the coal plants are shut down.

Thats for those peasants and commoners who actually make things work and build and create a nation and who live in the real world where life can be and often is hard without all the green floosies and political pimps, pushers and assorted NGO’s of very dubious ethics and morality trying to extinguish the vestiges of endeavor and free speech that are still in the realm of the common man.
      [ sarc/ ]

      ——-
      Selectively Quoted from Wiki

      Capitol Power Plant

The Capitol Power Plant is a fossil-fuel burning power plant which provides steam and chilled water for the United States Capitol, the Supreme Court, the Library of Congress and 19 other buildings in the Capitol Complex.
Located at 25 E St SE in southeast Washington, D.C., it is the only coal-burning power plant in the District of Columbia, though it mostly uses natural gas.[1][2] The plant has been serving the Capitol since 1910, and is under the administration of the Architect of the Capitol (see 2 U.S.C. § 2162).

Though it was originally built to supply the Capitol complex with electricity as well, the plant has not produced electricity for the Capitol since 1952.[1] Electricity generation is now handled by the same power grid and local electrical utility (Pepco) that serves the rest of metropolitan Washington.[3]
      &
Originally called the “Heating, Lighting, and Power Plant,” the Capitol Power Plant was one of the earliest 25-cycle alternating current electric-generating facilities in the United States.
The original steam boilers were replaced in 1923. In 1950, the steam boilers were modernized and replaced with coal-fired steam generators; at the same time, the plant’s electricity generating capacity had reached its limit, and it was decided to abandon electricity production in favor of the local electrical utility. Expansion of the plant to support additional new construction was authorized in 1958, 1970, and in the early 21st century to support the opening of the Capitol Visitor Center.[3]

      &

      Back to generating the DC’s own electricity;

In 2013, the Architect of the Capitol announced that it had “identified the construction of a cogeneration plant as the most environmentally and economically beneficial way to meet its goal to use natural gas 100% of the time.”[11]
The new cogeneration unit would use 100 percent natural gas to provide power for the 23 buildings of the Capitol complex, which includes the Capitol Building, the House and Senate office buildings, the Supreme Court, the U.S. Botanic Garden and the Library of Congress buildings, among others.
Not only will it reduce the use of coal on-site for the chillers and boilers, but it would provide 93% of the facility’s electricity.

This would allow it to replace inefficient, 45% coal-generated electricity bought off the grid with more efficiently generated, on-site electricity that uses no coal.[12] They completed the permitting process for this facility in June 2013.

Comfort plus for the political [ and lobbying ] elite of every conceivable stripe and colour, courtesy once again of the ever more reluctant and increasingly disgruntled American tax payers .

The A/c may make ventilation temperature very uncomfortable, but the stench of rotting food and the denaturing of medicine will have dire implications. Even freshly picked peas and carrots for processing are snap frozen shortly after picking. No milk, chilled at the farm. Count the freezer containers on a dock. Pantechnicons on the road. Modern living is defined by a number of technologies, one of the prime ones is refrigeration. Imagine having to cool your beer by dipping it in freshly dissolved Amonium Nitrate….I guess the lawn would be green.

I know a few media “personalities” like Waleed Aly the narcissist have said as much, but they don’t really count – unless one is to go onto some relatively flimsy ground, argument-wise. i.e., ‘John Kerry intimated that air conditioners are as much of a concern as Daesh, you said Daesh is of no concern, therefore air conditioners are of no concern…’

That is only true, if cattle are fed protein pellets, and other “hard feed substitutes”.

If they are run and fed on grass, and especially grass containing herbs, their digestion is much improved, and they produce a lot less gasses. At the end of the day, the meat tastes much better too.

This is one of the big differences in geography. In the southern hemisphere, most meat is grown on grass, out doors. In the northern hemisphere, most meat is grown indoors, using battery farming techniques, and protein substitutes. I know which I would rather eat.

        So right Rekeke

Some of the best beef comes from unimproved pastures that contain a huge number of species including weeds etc. Especially in the breeding areas of North Queensland where quantity is not a problem. What happens when they try to eliminate weeds etc – the growth rates of young cattle reduce.

Rotation of pastures is now the leading improvement undertaken by these properties without weed control. Multiply species introduction in the rotation is also advantageous (eg Goats, pigs & sheep).

Send all the airconditioners to the Middle East and laugh as ISIS try to make them work. Useless without windmills. Even if they worked with hundreds of slaves on bicycles, the death rate from local Global Warming Climate Change would be terrible, cooling the headquarters but making it far too hot to fight outside. Thermal imaging would help the Russians locate and target the cooler command centres. Kerry is far too busy looking after his hair to think laterally.

Finally, here’s a real opportunity for the government to lead by example. And it will even be cheap by government standards. We’ll hardly notice the difference in the millions of dollars we spend every single second of every single day. It wouldn’t even begin to approach the cost of all Michelle and family’s globe trotting vacation tours, much less when the president goes with them, now reported to add up to over a billion including all the extras like Secret Service protection, airplanes (do you realize how many airplanes go along?), fuel, pilots, local security people wherever she goes, cost of local disruption and so on.

Good for you Mr. Secretary. We all knew you’d see the wisdom of this.

Clunk! Ouch! Nuts I fell asleep and fell off my chair. I just knew it was too good to be anything but a dream. After all, Roy, you know the rules only apply to you and not to them. They’re the government, after all.

And by the way, Mr. Secretary, we’re all very happy that you finally found a job you can actually do.

    Oh, the irony!
Report from the DNC venue – worst conditions ever, the air conditioning is not performing well. Perfect timing for Hansen, Gore and the Kerry the Buffoon. Excuse me if I find some malevolent intent in his statement. IF affordable energy becomes the victim of these idiots’ anti-fossil-fuel and anti-nuke campaigns, and IF aircon users can be labeled as evil for wanting comfort, then by definition, anyone complaining of the high cost of staying cool is evil. Now, I’m awaiting the logic that will include those seeking affordable heat in winter, among the evil. If only we in Canada could roast / freeze our house of parliament, for the benefit of our newly elected coven of idiots.

Dear Secretary of State John F. Kerry,

In response to your latest re: Refrigerators and Air Conditioning are as Dangerous as ISIS, please lend a thought to reinstating the employ of Punka Wallahs in all US embassies and offices. This project would not only provide ‘sustainable’ cooling but advantageously easing the employment difficulties in both your home country and all nations worldwide where America has a diplomatic delegation.

P.S. Could you also see your way to proposing the same at the next UN shindig meeting.

Your ex Punka Wallah (now unemployed)

Absolutely love the idea! We would need about 1 Punka Wallah per 2 state employees.

Of course we would have to have deaf ones as those secrets they works with. Don’t have to have
a deaf one for Hillary as nothing secret passes her desk.

We could also offer a federal incentive to state’s to employ them as well.

A real sustainable solution here to GW. Now the refrigerators are tough
so I guess they will simple have to be removed from all State Department Offices.

The problem with not being able to find enough deaf wallahs can be cured in a manner similar
to what they did on slumdog millionaire.

Think of the number of person we could put on the government salary AND benefits.

A real green sustainable publically funded solution.

Another petition in Australia could be presented to each state government in favour of wind energy that government offices only receive electrical energy when the wind is blowing. This could also apply to all politicians personally so that they are consistent with their beliefs..

I have suggested that the ACT be strictly bound by its wind farm contracts so that for the capacity of these wind farms, the ACT only receives the power that those wind farms are generating and to receive the full amount being generated, whether the ACT demand requires the power or not. Only the remaining balance of their demand (that amount above the capacity of the contracted wind farms) would be allowed to come from conventional sources.

This requires overvoltage substations and phase shifting transformers to be installed at the territory borders. I think it is worth funding.

Whew. For a moment John thought they were going to remove blowdriers from the State Dept.

Why are politicians like John Kerry worried about air conditioning when we all know battery storage is the cure all to make wind towers a reliable and cheap source of energy so we can run as many Air conditioners as we like?

I read and weep at this story today in the ever predictable but persistent Sydney Morning Herald. It quotes Malcolm Turnbull’s incoming Environment and Energy Minister Josh Frydenberg. Along with explaining away as “complex” the recent energy crisis in Wind Tower dependent South Australia and announcing an increase in Australia’s Renewable Energy Target from 20% to 23%, Frydenberg says:

” the improvements in battery storage give us great confidence in the future, that renewables, which should be taken up in greater and greater amounts, can provide a reliable steady source of energy supply”

I have one question, how much will these cure all batteries add to the cost of delivering electricity to consumers and businesses? Last time I checked an Elon Musk power pack cost about USD 3,000 each. How will the poor pay for these units? I can smell another government subsidy coming along 🙁

Kerry is the best friend Republicans could ask for . Just keep talking .
His bizarre statements are really a rather sad reflection on the current IQ
    mustered by the Democrats .
No one is stopping him from shutting off the air conditioning for he and his entourage
but seriously dude quit breathing in those limo exhausts .

It would be good to remove Secretary of State John F. Kerry from all US State Department property. Whether he is a bigger threat than ISIS is hard to say, but a case can be made.

A really strange person is MR John F Kerry.

Privileged, well educated, but after all that he seems to be a real dimwit. A sock-puppet for the extreme left of the Democratic Party.

Turn off our Fridges – that will cause millions of deaths as food distribution chains break down.

Turn off our Air Conditioners – As long as this is restricted to the State Dept this will be a positive.

Imagine someone working in the refrigeration /air conditioning industry
being told by a USA Secretary of State their livelihood is a big a threat as ISIS . Say what ?
So far the USA Democrats have trash talked and threatened the coal industry , the natural gas industry ,
the oil industry , pipeline industry , the USA military , and now the refrigeration and air conditioning industry . What’s next Disney for letting off fireworks ?
Through their Democrat State Attorney General plants they begun a clear violation of Constitutional Rights with a witch hunt orchestrated to silence and bully
those that don’t sing loud enough from the oh come all ye faithful global warming fear mongering hymn book .
This group of politically correct pompous asses need a long long time out .
Has there ever been a party that has openly declared war on it’s own economy and the people who actually make it work ?

Trump is far from perfect but at least he isn’t working against his own country . If the Democrats get in it will confirm how seriously
screwed the USA has become .
