Admittedly it takes up a lot of time to follow J. Couey on Gigaohm Biological. Can’t speak for him, but I doubt that he would find what is suggested in this report is in anyway exceptional. Having been taught, my learned opinion is that it is just another example of a well proven technique, still being used with C19.

Yes Dave, and interesting how we had the excessive CFR here. Was this due to a poisonous vaxx?
Whatever, this is an appalling indictment on the WHO and so many others. And then we had yet more disaster from covid from the WHO and our govt. So as a present the G20 now express complete faith in the completely undeveloped mRNA technology and wax on about the benefits of the vaxx – and then demand vaxx passports. Completely ignoring all the data showing the vaxxes an utter failure, excess deaths to the horizon and huge nos of vaxx injuries and deaths.
If people cannot, by now, see the utter evil in front of us then I cannot help them.
60
Do you mean the TGA’s excessive CFR? That was based on two positive test results – one PCR and one nucleic acid test. Most people didn’t test positive the second time. The IFR was maybe 20% of the TGA CFR. No doubt most people assumed that CFR was the mortality rate for the case numbers being reported in the media that had tested positive once using PCR.
It was scare mongering from the TGA.
20
It would not be the first time there was a bad batch of vaccine – the epidemics started bang when the batches arrived.

It’s interesting to see how true entrepreneurs work as in the enormous risk Elon Musk took with Twitter.
It’s by no means clear if will be financially viable or not, given the enormous dishonesty of its previous Leftist owners.
In any case, it is an enormously important and influential platform for the survival of Western Civilisation and its fantastic that the enemy has been removed from control of this most important asset which they were clearly using to bring about its downfall.
It will have been worth the risk.

I’ve been reading Mortal Republic by Edward J. Watts which documents the downfall of the Roman Republic.
From Amazon:
The parallels to our present situation are remarkable.
140
I’ve been reading two geology books on NZ (or Zealandia, the sunken 8th continent) both published c.2016. Sure was warmer ‘way back when’ and as for sea levels up and down and back up again…
One author barely and briefly mentioned AGW/CCC – natural fluctuations rule – while the other, after cataloging eons & epochs of calamity, claimed the last 50 years was all our fault. Personally I put it down to rock’n’roll and the blues and a little dub reggae for syncopation.
130
That’s hardly a new viewpoint.

Rome persisted for another 300 years after the downfall of “democratic rule”.

No surprise, David, since Rome was the cultural and ideological ancestor of the West.

Whaddaya mean it’s snowing AGAIN in the land of droughts, floods, and blizzards in Snovember? Three snowfalls in as many weeks… 4 weeks out from summer solstice, yet Victorian & NSW ski areas resemble mid-winter whiteout powder bliss! Shocked I yams, I tells ya 😃
Thank physics we’re on the warm-side of this storm system while you guys (and Annie) are on the cold Antarctic arc/side of this Spring ‘low’. How are your Green Ducks coping with this ‘turn’ of the weather… “Hottest Ever!” translates to ‘hottest never’? NZ’s Southern Alps are in for 4 days of “Snow to 1,000m” from tomorrow – thank scepticism I live up north.

Greg;
The weather report last night was for snow down to 500 metres in Tasmania. No mention of the Australian Alps.

According to Weatherzone ‘you can blame the unusually strong and cold stratospheric polar vortex.’

Clearly strong blocking high pressure is bringing this unseasonal chill from waters near Antarctica.
Nobody at the Guardian will be writing a story on the polar vortex hypothesis, or any other theory involving natural variables, its not in the script.

I don’t have any vested interests in https://www.mountainwatch.com but I do like to watch (a la Chancey Gardener / Peter Sellers) snow fall out of season via webcams. Top-right menu bar > Snow Cams > Australia > choose your ski area, NSW or VIC or TAS.
More than a couple of inches up top and there’s another day or two of Carbon Fallout Powder on the way. Has anyone heard from Prof. David Viner lately or Prof. Tim Flappery… hello hello, peer review, observations, data, trends… never mind, it’s all downhill from here… Snowtime like now!

My nephew who lives with us worked down in the ski resorts over winter. He tells me today that it was snowing in Jindabyne (something it did not do when he was down for the season there) and a large dump at Perisher.
And the Greens will tell us its a sign of global warming. Here on the Gold Coast its been a very cold start to summer and a cold winter (for here). Again recite after me, “its all caused by global warming”…
50
In December 1969 I experienced snow for the first time at a location between Moina and Waldheim near Cradle Mountain in Tasmania. About 5cm fell at 700m elevation. I have photos to prove this event occurred.
20
Yes. It was snowing in Cooma, Berridale and Jindabyne on Wed 16th Nov at 9am!
Jindy had about 2-3cms coverage at 8am, but was gone by 9am, but the snow was still falling till maybe 9:30am.
Perisher had about 30cms during Tuesday night, and 25cm on Sunday night and another 25cm on Monday night. The other nights maybe 5-10, its hard to tell when you check the snow gauge cam at 9am. But due to the temp during the day (5-10 degrees Celsius) it mostly melts, so there is very little that is accumulated. However, if it was Winter or even September/October the accumulation over the last week would be 100-120cm, which in winter would be consider a “big storm”.

41% of Climate Scientists Don’t Believe ‘Climate Change’ Narrative
A whopping 41 percent of climate scientists say they don’t believe the official “climate change” narrative that’s promoted by politicians and the corporate media, a new report has revealed.
The media and political elite are constantly demanding that the public complies with their green agenda by arguing that the “science is settled” on global warming.
The official narrative insists that there is a nearly 99% “consensus” among scientists that the human race is causing a catastrophic “climate emergency” through carbon emissions.
However, a bombshell new survey reveals that 41% of climate scientists dispute these claims.
Those who dispute the “climate change” narrative believe the frequency and severity of extreme weather events had increased significantly in recent years, reported the British website Daily Sceptic.
The survey was conducted in September and October by Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck, New Jersey.
Researchers collected a representative sample of scientists with at least a bachelor’s degree in fields such as meteorology, climatology, physics, geology, and hydrology.
About 57% of the scientists who participated were members of the American Meteorology Society.
MIT emeritus professor Richard Lindzen recently called the current climate narrative “absurd,” according to WND.

I did… It said old farts who have a good measure of cynical experience don’t believe in it-
“Age plays a key factor in perceptions. Across 4 of the 5 key measures, those 50 and
older are less likely than those 30 and under to believe the effects of climate change
is or will be severe”
..and women are more easily sucked in than men-
“More women than men believe both the frequency of severe weather and the severity
of such weather has increased significantly in recent years.”
It certainly gave me no reason to question my beliefs.
80
What does this mean? If you “believe the frequency and severity of extreme weather events had increased significantly in recent years,” then you aren’t among “Those who dispute the “climate change” narrative…”
160
I was about to ask the same question. Typo?
50
“believe the frequency and severity of extreme weather events had increased significantly in recent years, “
Yet data says otherwise.
These are FAKE scientists.
“Belief” is part of religion, not science.

I bet they still put the requisite stuff about climate change into their grant applications.

How to keep an “emergency” going forever
Covid rates are dropping but you want to cling on to these new emergency powers – what to do? If Covid isn’t around, citizens won’t allow these powers to be extended will they?
Well Colorado have shown us the answer.
Governor Jared Polis signed a new Executive Order on 11 November which amended the emergency Covid rules to include Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV), influenza and other respiratory illnesses.
The Order says that “Colorado has seen a sharp increase in pediatric RSV infections and hospitalizations, in addition to patients with influenza and COVID-19, over the last two months”.
It then goes on to list the number of hospitalisations and the intensive care capacity. Therefore “if cases continue to increase, we may continue to see bed shortages across all hospital beds in Colorado as our state experiences a rise in COVID, influenza and RSV hospitalizations simultaneously”.

The Dilemma of the Vaccinated. Dr. Robert Malone
After analyzing the trends in excess mortality and disabilities post Covid-19 vaccination, we became alarmed. It looked as though our original concerns about the rapid development process of a vaccine based on a new experimental technology, which was then used to inoculate the majority of the population, had come to fruition.
The earliest smoking gun was the accumulation of deaths and injuries in the US VAERS database and equivalent EudraVigilance database for Europe. Since the vaccines were rolled out in early 2021, these databases have started showing abnormal numbers of deaths and injury associated with the new vaccines. These monitoring systems are designed to provide early warning signals for any toxicity problems, but adverse reactions are thought to be severely under-reported. These databases also do not prove causation.
Sucharit Bhakdi and co-workers show compelling evidence of causation from the injection to rapid distribution of the vaccine across the body through the bloodstream, widespread expression of the spike protein, and then autoimmune-like inflammation and organ damage. They identify the pathways towards common blood clotting-related adverse events in the vaccine monitoring databases such as strokes, heart attacks and lung embolisms.
If our concerns about what is causes the excess mortality and morbidity are right, vaccinated individuals (the majority of the population!) will be confronted with a dilemma: Either they A) face reality and go through the phases of grief associated with such realisations or; B) try to ignore reality and hope for the best.
https://rwmalonemd.substack.com/p/the-dilemma-of-the-vaccinated
140
” A) face reality and go through the phases of grief associated with such realisations or; B) try to ignore reality and hope for the best.”
This is wrong by already observable result.
A sophisticated media/government/tech propaganda apparatus has been constructed capable of shaping ‘reality’.
Without acknowledgement of the apparatus it does not exist.
Example … almost two weeks ago here in the US we had ‘elections’.
I’m not sure which side ‘won’.
Nobody sees a problem.
Note to JoNova readers: I have decided to hold all of My JoNova comments to the same standards of accuracy and substance as those demonstrated by POTUS.

Cop(out)27: The dirty secret Europe is hiding at the climate summit
Europe’s dirtiest secret – one deterring it from seriously and rapidly tackling the climate emergency – is not being addressed this week at Cop27, the United Nations climate change conference hosted by Egypt.
Mention of the Energy Charter Treaty would expose how far western states, the biggest greenhouse gas polluters, are from being in a position to cut carbon emissions in half by 2030. Failure to do so sets the world on course for catastrophic global warming above 1.5C.
Whatever grand declarations they issue as the summit in Sharm el-Sheikh concludes this week, the reality is that European states effectively tied their hands for the foreseeable future by ratifying the energy treaty back in the 1990s. They have landed themselves with a massive financial burden if they try to cut emissions.
Europe would rather not admit it has made itself the prisoner of transnational energy corporations. The firms can hold member states to ransom for compensation, frustrating European efforts to significantly change energy policies for at least the next two decades.
The Energy Charter Treaty came into being shortly after the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991. Energy firms lobbied for its adoption to secure long-term investments exploiting fossil energy resources in the former Soviet Union, in case these newly independent states later switched their industries back to public ownership.

2023 cyberattack landscape
Cybersecurity expert Kaspersky’s researchers believe the likelihood of the next WannaCry happening in 2023 is high.
One potential reason for an event like this occurring is that the most sophisticated threat actors in the world are likely to possess at least one suitable exploit, and current global tensions greatly increase the chance that a ShadowBrokers-style hack-and-leak could take place, Kaspersky said in its 2023 threat predictions.
Statistically, some of the largest and most impactful cyber epidemics occur every six to seven years. The last such incident was the infamous WannaCry ransomware-worm, leveraging the extremely potent EternalBlue vulnerability (JC2 note – developed by the USA’s NSA) to automatically spread to vulnerable machines.
The rise of destructive attacks
Given the current political climate, Kaspersky experts foresee a record number of disruptive and destructive cyberattacks, affecting both the government sector and key industries. It is likely that a portion of them will not be easily traceable to cyberattacks and will look like random accidents.
The rest will take the form of pseudo-ransomware attacks or hacktivist operations to provide plausible deniability for their real authors. There will be high-profile cyberattacks against civilian infrastructure – energy grids or public broadcasting may also become targets, as well as underwater cables and fibre distribution hubs, which are challenging to defend.
Mail servers become priority targets
Mail servers harbour key intelligence, making them valuable to APT actors, and have the biggest attack surface imaginable. The market leaders in this industry have already faced exploitation of critical vulnerabilities, and 2023 will be the year of 0-days for all major email programmes.
APT targeting
There is evidence of APTs being capable of attacking satellites, with the Viasat incident as an example. It is likely that APT threat actors will increasingly turn their attention to the manipulation of, and interference with, satellite technologies in the future, making the security of these technologies ever more important.
http://tradearabia.com/touch/article/IT/403416
Which all confirms my earlier prediction, that attacks will target govt, comms, energy and essential services…

Scientists Confirm a New Expanded Scale of Measurement
Say hello to ronnagrams and quettameters: International scientists gathered in France voted on Friday for new metric prefixes to express the world’s largest and smallest measurements, prompted by an ever-growing amount of data.
It marks the first time in more than three decades that new prefixes have been added to the International System of Units (SI), the agreed global standard for the metric system.
Joining the ranks of well-known prefixes like kilo and milli are ronna and quetta for the largest numbers – and ronto and quecto for the smallest.
The change was voted on by scientists and government representatives from across the world attending the 27th General Conference on Weights and Measures, which governs the SI and meets roughly every four years at Versailles Palace, west of Paris.
The UK’s National Physical Laboratory, which led the push for the new prefixes, confirmed that the resolution had passed in a statement.
Since the SI was established in 1960, scientific need has led to a growing number of prefixes. The last time was in 1991, when chemists wanting to express vast molecular quantities spurred the addition of zetta and yotta.
A yottameter is a one followed by 24 zeroes.
But even the mighty yotta is not enough to handle the world’s voracious appetite for data, according to Richard Brown, the head of metrology at the UK’s National Physical Laboratory.
“In terms of expressing data in yottabytes, which is the highest prefix currently, we’re very close to the limit,” Brown told AFP.
“At the bottom end, it makes sense to have a symmetrical expansion, which is useful for quantum science, particle physics – when you’re measuring really, really small things.”

The poor old USA doesn’t even use kgs and kms yet…
40
I think the new prefixes are unnecessary. All such extreme dimensions are handled perfectly adequately with scientific notation.

Will they be needed for US government debt ?

Or Australia for that matter. Already at $1.6×10^12 for combined local, state and federal government debt or 1.6 teradollars.

Ozone Hole shrinks in 2022 and they don’t mention a recent volcanic eruption.
https://asianatimes.com/ozone-hole-shrinking-antarctica-south-pole-2022/
20
el +gordo
No, that is not true. The figures are best seen in the bar graph at the left hand side of the page in the link. It is certainly NOT shrinking
https://ozonewatch.gsfc.nasa.gov/
I contacted Nasa at the time several weeks ago and posted the results on this blog. I got a very nice reply from the scientist quoted in this post who told me that they didn’t expect to see a return to normal until the 2070’s. In the meantime we have had three consecutive high years mostly caused by the cold weather at the Antarctic as the two are closely linked.
I got no reply to my enquiry as to whether perhaps the ozone hole had always been there but it has only been since the mid 1950’s that we have been able to measure it
80
Of course someone might have pointed out that the Southern Hemispehre is much colder than the northern hemisphere and the atmosphere is much thinner, especially as most of antarctica is 3400 metres tall with an average temperature of -50C in winter and -25C in summer
The link to man made carbon tetra chloride is ridiculous. There is no ozone hole in the Norther Hemisphere where 80% of humanity lives for a man made effect. Even more significant is that only 2% live in the bottom third of the planet and none below 42 South, not even half way to the pole. Man made? How? In the Northern Hemisphere there are cities at 70 North, like Murmansk with about 350,000 people and it’s warm in summer. Where is their ozone hole?
Carbon tetrachloride may have increased the ozone hole but the result of planet saving massive taxation is that everyone on the planet except the Chinese are paying 200x costs of replacements for refrigerants. It is another pseudo science game like polar bears drowning from Global Warming.
Surely the $1.5Trillion a year has stopped man made Global Warming? All those windmills? Why is no one measuring the value of the windmills, telling us what a good job we are doing and how CO2 growth is slowing down?
It’s all fiction and taxation, subsidies, politics. From Polar bears to the Ozone hole to man made CO2 driven Global Warming. And it’s always a crisis and we are facing extinction. Again.
170
” taxation”
That’s the actual problem, stop that and you stop everything else! Even taking control of it away from the Govt would solve all those extinction problems..
10
ARCTIC Ozone ‘hole’.
https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-020-00904-w
20
Well spotted.
“There was more cold air above the Arctic than in any winter recorded since 1979”
So it is created by cold air, not carbon tetracholoride. As if that had to be discovered. Still we pay our massive taxes to ‘save the planet’.
20
‘So it is created by cold air …’
As Tony said, there is a link between ozone depletion and cold weather.
We know the size of the hole increases when accompanied by extreme prolonged cold weather and winds.
10
I think all we know is that the Montreal protocol did not solve the ‘problem’. And we are less sure if it really is an unnatural problem at all.
Over the years the scientists have claimed to have fixed it, only for the depletion to get record bad, then a resort to models saying the signs of healing were there, then it would be fixed by…., Then blaming the Chinese for illegally continuing to emit the bogey gases. And still they claim it is a perfect example of how the world could be saved from climate change by international cooperation.
40
Why a cold stratosphere matters according to this link:
https://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/features/Tango:
So does this mean a warming stratosphere is good news, and a cooling one bad?
10
Cheeses Swept! How long does this garbage have to go on?
There is no “hole” in the ozone layer because there is no “ozone layer” except as a mathematical computation originally devised by Professor Gordon Dobson in 1957 to establish the existence of high level wind currents and map their path.
His book on the subject “Exploring The Atmosphere” was one of my textbooks in physics at high school in 1967.
Some of you guys need to learn that science didn’t start in the 1980’s.
30
‘ … there is no ozone layer …’
There is a high probability that you are wrong.
‘The ozone layer is the common term for the high concentration of ozone that is found in the stratosphere between 15 and 30km above the earth’s surface. It covers the entire planet and protects life on earth by absorbing harmful ultraviolet-B (UV-B) radiation from the sun.’ (DCCEEW)
10
To add verifiable weight to my argument, the geomagnetic excursion 42,000 years BP destroyed the ozone layer and wiped out Australian megafauna.
00
Here was I thinking it was the arrival of aborigines, their dogs and fire.
10
Flummery got it wrong.
00
That was 1957. There are many ways now to directly measure ozone concentrations even from the ground quite apart from the fact that we can now look down on the atmosphere, something which was impossible in 1957. And direct measurement is both possible and regular. Ozone is a very important allotrope of oxygen.
In fact when discovered it was considered to be very beneficial and advertised as a tourist attraction. In Melbourne we had the Ferry Ozone (which sank), the hotel Ozone and like radiation and electricity, you could have ozone and radon treatments and even the new 240volt treatment at Hepburn Springs. Radon too. We now know that two of these are extreme carcinogens and houses in Colorado come with a Radon measurement for the standard basement. As in the middle Ages, it was all guesswork. Like arsenic in French cosmetics to enhance your white complexion. Ratsak for glamour.
And in studying the spectrum with what is now a relatively cheap device, you can see the ozone. So this is established science and not speculation. What was total speculation was the cause of the ozone hole and it is so clearly related to air temperature, not human population. But refrigerants went from $8 a kg to $250 a kg as a consequence of the UN ban so it is far cheaper to buy your Chinese refrigerator unit with gas than to refill. It was the first case of a political body, the United Nations, making pronouncements and raising massive fines and taxes based on their opinions on physics and chemistry. And it gave some people in the UN an idea. If we can be credible experts on Oxygen, why not Carbon? Then Nitrogen. It all started with Ozone.
The substitute refrigerants as nowhere near as efficient, which wastes a lot of energy. But energy is plentiful now with so many windmills and free energy?
30
And even if I believed man made CO2 for a second, I would be demanding compensation for Australia which is part of the 2% of the world living on the cold bottom third of the planet with a lot of water and Antarctica. Despite being on the latitude of North Africa, Melbourne is often freezing although it never snows. Most importantly, 98% of our CO2 comes from overseas and 50% of that from China. But we are under pressure and New Zealand has offered to pay compensation for CO2 ‘pollution’? Why? Shouldn’t we be in Egypt demanding our share of the cash from the US and Europe? China is.
40
I reckon the Arctic might see some good ice volume this winter as conditions are about right to my amateur mind. The ice is tightly packed to the west above Greenland and those tiny Islands above Canada, rather than spread out, and so could grow to a thick ice sheet.
Im waiting for 2026 where I saw a maths guy in about 2015 calculate a regression that showed zero ice in summer of 2026, rapidly approaching now, and its looking good for him to be wrong.

I remember a few years ago when some “scientists” went on a taxpayer-funded adventure tour to the Antarctic to investigate Antarctic ice supposedly melting and got stuck in the ice and had to be rescued.

Arctic sea ice is fairly average at the moment, but a cold air outbreak is expected very soon.
‘Northern hemisphere snow cover is well ahead of schedule particularly across Asia. Presence of expansive snow cover increases the risk of pooling arctic air which is indicated this week and strengthening in the 6-10-day period in Central Asia/Russia.’ (Climate Impact Company)
10
“Arctic sea ice is fairly average”
Over what time period?
Over the last 15 years, marginally above average. (9.789 Wadhams to an average of 9.725 Wadhams.)
If you include the extreme high levels back to 1979 (similar to LIA).. then below “average”
If you look at the whole Holocene, its probably in the top 5%-10%.

It was the most hyperbolic piece I have ever seen. Not being in favour of those things is not really that radical, but they theme of the story was society is about to collapse, regressing back to somewhere like 1998.

The more “left” the Liberals become, the more the party will collapse into a fetid ooze.
They make themselves unelectable, even against moronic clowns like Andrews, Albo, McGowen etc etc
That is some achievement.. NOT !

I am trying to find out who will run the climate reparation fund established at COP27 and whether payment into it is voluntary on the part of developed nations. Amid all the euphoria it is hard to determine.

Australian soils are frequently deficient in zinc if not fertilised with appropriate micronutrients.
I wonder if this is reflected in zinc deficiency in agricultural produce and thus in the people who consume it?

Australia has ancient dirt. We have few big river deltas where renewal occurs regularly. The rest has soil depleted of most nutrients simply by rain. Iirc from a year at Ag college in a previous life phosphate was/is the major deficiency, cured short term by superphosphate fertiliser.
Then tales of land “burnt out” by phosphate started. Truth is it was that then other deficiencies reared their ugly head. Phosphate from guano on Christmas Island was available then. Today nothing is cheap. Feeding the masses may be possible, feeding them healthy, not so much.

So nearly three years into the Great Pandemic, I finally contracted a flu like respiratory infection.
From a fully vaccinated wife, that got it from a fully vaccinated work community.
Three days flat on my back.
Seem to recall being bed ridden longer in the past, when I was younger and healthier.
There were a few hours there where I thought I should be carried to the hospital.
Used only over the counter cold an flu remedies.
Still not fully functional 5 days in.
In my weakened state, I find myself without insight.
Except, I think we lack the tools to understand what has befallen us.

Or two, it has achieved ultimate power like none ever witnessed or even imagined.

Australia’s Green Energy Dream Sinking Under Royalty Demands, Tradie Shortages
Essay by Eric Worrall
…
A few weeks ago farmers reached an agreement to be paid $200,000 per km ($320,000 / mile) for green energy grid lines which cross their land, on the grounds that the new lines are a fire hazard – fire fighting helicopters refuse to approach power lines, for obvious reasons.
…
Australia is facing a severe skills shortage – there aren’t enough electricians to implement the green revolution AND service Australia’s ongoing mining projects.
On top of this, greens have started demanding energy storage targets, to address obvious problems with their green energy revolution.
In every direction people are demanding cash payouts, with substantial justification
…
Something tells me Prime Minister Albanese’s green revolution is either going to suffer a gigantic cost blowout, or die a death of a thousand cuts.

And in the USA they are getting record snowfalls now in places where it doesn’t usually snow much at all until mid January. Meanwhile, here in Oz, people are still skiing and snowboarding at some of our alpine resorts.
The lockdowns, travel restrictions, “vaxxine passport” mandates, military interventions and all the rest over the past three years were just the dress rehearsal for what is about to come. If you don’t already have stored food, water, fuel for cooking and warmth, seeds and some chooks, and supplies of any essential medications like Ventolin and Insulin then you only have a few weeks left to take care of these things.
If you want to stay in touch with the rest of the world you will also need a VPN. Proton offer a freebie version that should be sufficient. Goolag searches are biased and down-ranked or not shown at all according to the particular narrative that is desired to be pushed.
I never assume the Goolag answer is the true or correct one. It is either an answer they aren’t censoring or controlling, which is often the case for technical or scientific matters (except as related to covid or climate) or it is a subject they wish to control and push their narrative which means the answer you are looking for is either down-ranked or not there at all.

“Grade-A Gaslighting”: FDA Says Anti-Ivermectin Campaign Was ‘Just A Recommendation’
The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), which mocked Americans for taking Ivermectin to treat Covid-19, now says their campaign telling people to “stop” taking it was informal and just a recommendation, according to an argument made by government lawyers during a recent hearing.
“The cited statements were not directives. They were not mandatory. They were recommendations. They said what parties should do. They said, for example, why you should not take ivermectin to treat COVID-19. They did not say you may not do it, you must not do it. They did not say it’s prohibited or it’s unlawful. They also did not say that doctors may not prescribe ivermectin,” Isaac Belfer, one of the lawyers, told the court during the Nov. 1 hearing in federal court in Texas according to the Epoch Times.
“They use informal language, that is true,” Belfer continued, adding “it’s conversational but not mandatory.”
Yet, in 2021 the FDA created a web page titled “Why You Should Not Use Ivermectin to Treat or Prevent COVID-19,” before then tweeting: “You are not a horse. You are not a cow. Seriously, y’all. Stop it.”

FDA tries to weasel out of ever claiming it told people not to take ivermectin
Well, now we know why there was all this sudden amnesty talk going on to coddle and excuse COVID’s tyrants.
Obviously, they’re on the hot seat. They mocked and abused anyone trying to take ivermectin on an emergency off-label basis during a pandemic as stupid horse-paste abusers, evoking the specter of those who sniff glue or take TidePods to get high, to the extent that they put out public service announcements brimming with schoolyard-style scoldings on Twitter. Such as this one, here:
Context is important here. The mocking meme came in response to testimony from famous podcaster Joe Rogan who stated that his doctor-prescribed ivermectin regimen against COVID worked very well for him, killing his COVID case dead in a matter of days.
It also came as word from less-developed African countries, along with India and Peru, were able to stop mass deaths through the use of ivermectin, sometimes actually from the horse paste, given those countries’ lack of health care on a mass basis and their agricultural orientation. It was an effective stopgap measure that even taken haphazardly managed to saved millions of lives.
Which brings us to the lawsuit that triggered this sudden turn to weasel words from the FDA:
The hearing was held in a case brought by three doctors who say the FDA illegally interfered with their ability to prescribe medicine to their patients when it issued statements on ivermectin, an anti-parasitic that has shown positive results in some trials against COVID-19.
Ivermectin is approved by the FDA but not for COVID-19. Drugs are commonly used for non-approved purposes in the United States; the practice is known as off-label treatment.
If this is not a case that screams for investigation into the tentacles of Big Pharma and the corruption of the FDA, what is?

Plan B a must when green power dream turns to nightmare
JUDITH SLOAN
Newly appointed AGL Energy board member Kerry Schott has deep experience in electricity matters. She was chair of the Energy Security Board, which is part of the architecture of the National Electricity Market. She has also been chair of the NSW government’s Net Zero Emissions and Clean Economy Board.
So when she was asked about the federal government’s plan to reduce emissions by 43 per cent by 2030 and for renewable energy to make up 82 per cent of electricity generation, her reply was disquieting: “It may not be possible. But I think we’ve got to try.”
When you realise what’s at stake – reliable, affordable power for households and businesses, including energy-intensive ones underpinning the economy – it was a worrying response.
I then spoke to a contact with deep knowledge of the NEM and posed the question: what is Plan B here? His reply is: what is Plan A?
This was a reasonable answer given the many moving parts of the government’s targets and the seeming impossibility of getting there. It is surely ironic it was Climate Change and Energy Minister Chris Bowen who explicitly outlined the numerical challenge in front of transforming the NEM in such a short time frame.
He has told us we will need 22,000 solar panels every day and 40 wind turbines every month for the next eight years. There will also be a requirement for at least 10,000km of additional transmission lines. Over the same period, we will likely see the exit of at least 9000 megawatts of coal-fired generation, including Liddell, Bayswater, Eraring and Yallourn. If the newly elected board members of AGL Energy have their way, this number could be higher again (AGL’s Loy Yang A coal-fired power station in Victoria has a capacity of 2000MW).
You can see why I asked the question about Plan B, in particular given the growing headwinds that are adversely affecting the rollout of renewable energy and the inevitable delays in the construction of new transmission lines facing strenuous local opposition. When it comes to solar and wind installations – equipment is mostly sourced from China – recent cost pressures have been substantial, adding between 20 and 30 per cent. Banks are unwilling to provide finance unless investors can secure longer-term purchase power agreements.
While these agreements provide guaranteed cash flows to investors, any advantages from spikes in the spot electricity market are forgone. In many instances, returns for investors are less than stellar and there is growing interest in securing preferential government finance; through the Clean Energy Finance Corporation, for instance. The bottom line is there is diminishing enthusiasm among investors for many renewable energy projects. Bowen and the Victorian government are placing great weight on the potential for offshore wind turbines as the solution to the impasse. But offshore turbines are four to 10 times more expensive to install than onshore ones. It’s not clear that the slightly higher capacity factor – the amount of power generated relative to fully rated capacity – of offshore compared with onshore is sufficient to justify the difference in costs. Typical figures for capacity factors are 35 per cent for offshore and 30 per cent for onshore.
I also need to mention the delays and cost blowouts affecting the completion of Snowy 2.0, the pumped hydro project, as well as the problems in securing the additional transmission required for the project to be fully operational. The timing of the commissioning of the important Kurri Kurri gas plant in the Hunter – a plant that will provide crucial firming for renewable energy – is also uncertain given the minister’s insistence it run partly off hydrogen even though there are no sources of hydrogen in the area.
Even with the best of intentions it is highly unlikely the decarbonisation plans for the NEM for the period ending in 2030 can be achieved. There are too many uncertainties; the cost pressures are considerable and worsening; and there is a widespread shortage of suitable workers. Alternative strategies need to be devised in the event of a lack of progress.
Arguably this potentially calamitous planning has been made worse by the states going their own way. South Australia was early off the mark in pushing subsidised renewable energy, although its utter dependence on coal-fired electricity from Victoria to ensure demand in the state is met rather gives the game away. The fact the state had to invest in a bank of expensive, standby diesel generators after the whole state lost power in 2016 is illustration of what a Plan B could entail.
Victoria is pushing on with its ambitious emissions reduction targets while undertaking a side deal with Energy Australia to keep its Yallourn coal-fired power station in operation until 2028. (The details of this deal remain hidden from the public, but the costs are almost certainly being borne by the taxpayers.) Offshore wind is now seen as the answer to the government’s prayers, and sites have been located. Gas extraction, even using conventional techniques, remains verboten although the Liberal Party is more enthusiastic than Labor.
Queensland has recently released an energy plan that has all the hallmarks of being devised by political advisers without any real knowledge of how the electricity grid works. In addition to the early closure of the government-owned coal-fired power plants, there is a plan – better call it a dream – to build the largest pumped hydro scheme in the world, outside Mackay. We are to believe it will be operational by 2032 with all the additional transmission lines (from a hurricane-prone region) in place as well.
NSW has its renewable energy zones but is very vulnerable in the event of the closure of the largest coal-fired plant, Eraring, in 2025.
It’s very easy for all this to end in tears as investments don’t go according to plan and costs blow out. The wholesale price of electricity has already tripled from 2021 and is expected to stay high for at least another two years. All those new transmission lines will be paid a guaranteed rate of return that ensures prices remain high after that.
The modelling Labor used to justify its policy platform was never up to scratch, failing to take into account the risks that turn its conclusions on its head. Electricity prices are not going down, there are likely to be many jobs lost as a result – don’t forget, half of the modelled job gains were because of the assumed lower prices – and interruptions to our electricity supply may become common. We should expect our political leaders to minimise the risks and safeguard our wellbeing by devising a well-considered and implementable Plan B now.

Feminist Scholar Says Children Should Be ‘Raised by Society as a Whole’ in ‘Abolish the Family’ Speech at Major University
Scholar’s ‘Abolish the Family’ speech hosted at UMass Boston
Hillary Clinton once famously wrote a book titled “It Takes A Village.” One feminist scholar is taking that argument one step further, arguing children should be raised by society rather than just their parents.
An expert on “feminist, trans and queer politics and philosophy,” scholar Sophie Lewis on Nov. 16 spoke at UMass Boston at an event named after her October 2022 book, “Abolish the Family: A Manifesto for Care and Liberation.”
Lewis has said in her various writing and interviews that her goal through “abolishing the family” is to reimagine the notion of the family past fatherhood and motherhood into a more universal sense, where children are not “property” of parents, but raised by society as a whole.
“Let us overthrow, in short, the ‘family,’” its online description states.
