Oh the irony?
Three years after the scandal that was ClimateGate, the University of East Anglia has a campus wide poster program to teach staff and students how to protect themselves from pfishing. (Thanks to reader pickabelief). Could this be a plan to protect the university from more embarrassing hacks and leaks too?
(Given other standards at UEA*, we have to ask if this is the rapid-response-squad?)
*With apologies to good scientists and workers at UEA. You didn’t ask for this test, but if you want to protect your reputation, you need to speak up. You could start with explaining why you do things differently to the people who use tricks to hide declines, avoid FOIs, and consort to delete taxpayer funded email records.
Some at UEA applaud work where random numbers produce the same “result” as a poor-censored-and-truncated-proxy does, and you might think, rightly, this is not science. But as long as sloppy, inept activist-scientists use the UEA brand to bolster their credibility, everyone who tacitly supports them gets tarred with the same brush.
The hoax that matters is the one that billions of dollars depend upon ($257 billion are invested in renewables per annum and $176 billion turns over in the carbon market). For those who say that committees investigated and cleared UEA, I say, who needs a committee to spot rank deception? Read the emails yourself.
They are talking about temperature data:
“I’ve just completed Mike’s Nature trick of adding in the real temperatures to each series for the last 20 years (i.e. from 1981 onwards) and from 1961 for Keith’s to hide the decline.” – Phil Jones, UEA
“Can you delete any emails you may have had with Keith regarding the latest (IPCC) report? Keith will do likewise…Can you also email Gene and get him to do the same?…We will be getting Caspar to do likewise.” – Phil Jones, UEA
“We also have a Data Protection Act, which I will hide behind.” – Phil Jones, UEA
“Mike Mann refuses to talk to these people and I can understand why. They are just trying to find if we’ve done anything wrong.” – Phil Jones, UEA
Can you spot a hoax?

Nova’s re-use of the “Hide the decline” makes you wonder how desperate time are. Hoax? Conspiracy? Or asingle line taken out of context?
http://www.skepticalscience.com/Mikes-Nature-trick-hide-the-decline.htm
Surely instead of rehashing old material Nova could be posting about all those cold temperature records we’ve been having lately?
oh, my bad.

Nice One.
Here’s another thing we could be talking about.

Junk Science has a rebuttal.
30
True. Junk science conducted on blogger websites is usually poor and full of errors.
Can’t wait for your rebuttal of this “hockeystick” as it appears in a respected peer-reviewed science journal.
http://www.sciencemag.org/content/339/6124/1198.abstract
26
Read the hockey stick illusion.
“Hide the decline” doesn’t even come close to the fraudulent statistical chicanery perpetrated by these state sanctioned criminal agenda 21 activists disguised as “scientists”.
252
And after that read Donna Leframbois book which tears the shit out of the scientific consensus and the ridiculous idea that IPCC (INTERGOVERNMENTAL panel on climate change) is a scientific institute.
231
You mean this illusion?
http://www.theatlantic.com/technology/archive/2013/03/were-screwed-11-000-years-worth-of-climate-data-prove-it/273870/
212
go away!!! just because you have another stick doesn’t make it right. read the *illusion* book as it know what you dont!!!
23
Nice one nice one . Ignore record cold and snow in NH but if cold here pull out the tired weather is not climate. Or how about the February globally down.
But a month is not a year and a decade is not a century unless of course it suits your belief.
As reality continues to quash computer models it is indeed yourself that resorts to the tired worn out dis proven arguments.
181
I wonder how many “skeptics” here can tell me what was meant by the phrase “hide the decline”?
320
“Hide the decline” was referring to an inconsistency between tree ring proxies and the instrumental record. What it in fact demonstrated is that tree ring width are a hopeless proxy for temperature which is obvious since the temperature is one of a myriad of factors influencing year to year growth. (Shade, Co2 levels, disease etc).
Still this did not stop Mann and more recently Gergis cherry picking individual tree data series and using completely dodgy statistical methods to get their desired results. The infamous “hockey stick” has been widely discredited as has the particular version of principal component analysis used. This and more is described in painstaking detail here:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/1906768358/ref=redir_mdp_mobile
The scientists were not so much “hiding the decline” in temperature as they were hiding the lack of correlation between proxies and instrumental data.
Now piss off.
311
The real significance of this (apart from the inescapable conclusion that climate scientists are engaging in intellectual fraud) is that If tree ring widths do not correlate with the modern instrumental record then they cannot be used in hindsight (hindcasting) as indicators of the climate before thermometers existed.
The most contentious aspect of Mann’s hockey stick was the elimination of the medieval warm period, the existence of which was not previously contested until the modern day politicisation of climate.
Therefore since this temperature reconstruction was based primarily on tree run proxies (which are lousy indications of temperature) the whole thing falls apart under its own weight.
Yet this is 1 of about 10 reasons why the Hockey Stick is trash science .
Time to read beyon skeptical science if you want to know the truth.
251
Now let’s hear your account of what the phrase “hide the decline” means…
Or are you completely out of your depth?
131
And be sure to use your own words rather than your cute penguin Skeptical science Agenda 21 propoganda website.
121
Sonny, Tree ring proxies were found to be consistent with numerous other proxies until the the 1960’s. It was one of many proxies used. The most recent is an isotopic study which also confirms the hockey stick.
http://www.theatlantic.com/technology/archive/2013/03/were-screwed-11-000-years-worth-of-climate-data-prove-it/273870/
The reasons for the failure of bristlecone pine tree rings to correlate with temperature since the 1960’s was well known, was discussed in the literature, but the reasons are as yet unknown. It is probably anthropogenic in nature (eg. acid rain)
When I first read the breathless shock horror “climategate” emails on Mr Bolt’s site, all I saw was a a bunch of scientists discussing whether to include the tree ring data at all. They decided that they would include it with all the other proxy data before instrumental records became available and use the more reliable data after that.
GOOD LORD! HOW DID THEY THINK THEY COULD GET AWAY WITH IT!
Actually they made this clear in in published refereed journals, but when the World Meteorological Society wanted a cover for a report they left the legends and footnotes out. After all cover illustrations are “illustrations” and do not bother with that kind of detail.
And this monumental beat up, out of the thousands upon thousands of hacked emails, was the closest the “skeptics” could get to a smoking gun in the entire “climategate” business.
Excuse any minor errors here as I have not consulted any reference in composing this.
19
Sorry for the error above. the second para should begin:
The fact of the failure of bristlecone pine tree rings to correlate with temperature since the 1960’s was well known…
The reasons are unknown
21
In case you’re not aware Phil, that ‘new’ hockey stick paper has already been torn to shreds, and Steve McIntyre is not even involved yet….
…..although he has the paper.
91
@ Philip Shehan … you might like to avail yourself of a copy of this book: Hiding the Decline by Andrew Montford which is a highly recommended and accurate text on the subject of the Climategate emails.
31
Torn to shreds by whom?
24
Yeah, who’s the shredder extraordinaire?
11
You have not addressed my points.
If the bristlecone pine proxies fail to correlate with the modern temperature record they are therefore unreliable. Just because they may have shown a degree of correlation with “other proxies” pre 1960 is a moot point.
Trees don’t tell the temperature. This is obvious to anybody with half a brain.
And the hockey stick algorithm relied very heavily on these unreliable series to support their goal of showing that the present error was unprecedented in warming.
For further information read the book “The hockey Stick Illusion”
50
Correction: present “era”
00
“Torn to shreds by whom?”
Marcott et al needs noone to tear it to shreds; any paper which uses statistical resolution which exceeds the period of known climate events like the MWP and therefore cannot statistically recognise them tears itself to shreds.
Marcott is a bad paper, deliberately so. It contradicts established science about the MWP and other periods warmer than today; and it does so just in time to be included in AR5.
70
Dear oh dear Phil. You really need to get out more. Here is one little problem with the paper.
Only nine of the 73 proxies contained data that extend to 1950. Of those nine, only two contained data that extended to 2000.
60
Saw Andrew Bolt’s name mentioned in anger again.
Fantastic.
I don’t read his comments but I love the way he gets all the Warmers from SkS all wet and agitated.
Great stuff Andrew!
KK
20
Sonny and snafu. The proxies also correlate with the instrumental records for the time periods covered by both.
02
Mmmmm…….now isn’t that a coincidence. 😉
00
That’s a lie; you don’t know what you are talking about; as Steve McIntyre notes:
I listened to Bolt discussing the issue of whether anti-Gillard protestors should be well behaved so as to not give the person or her wretched government any ammunition or justification for further lies.
It’s a difficult position but on balance I think a zero tolerance position should be taken; if its alright for Gillard to lie and scream abuse then she should get it back; she is traducing the position she holds and this nation.
The same with AGW liars and their idiot supporters.
Marcott’s paper is a lie and Shehan’s comments mark him as an idiot.
30
C’mon Philip… you tell us what it means…. we await with bated breath……
21
Another question for you Philip: What do you think it was exactly that got somebody so pissed off that they decided to publish these emails?…. have you ever thought about that? (do you even think at all?).
21
Russian hackers. Pissed off or payed off?
Who dou you think might have wanted to attempt to discredit climate scintists just before the Copenhagen climate meeting?
From Wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Climatic_Research_Unit_email_controversy
The mainstream media picked up the story as negotiations over climate change mitigation began in Copenhagen on 7 December.[12] Because of the timing, scientists, policy makers, and public relations experts said that the release of emails was a smear campaign intended to undermine the climate conference.[13] In response to the controversy, the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), the American Meteorological Society (AMS) and the Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS) released statements supporting the scientific consensus that the Earth’s mean surface temperature had been rising for decades, with the AAAS concluding “based on multiple lines of scientific evidence that global climate change caused by human activities is now underway…it is a growing threat to society.”[14]
Eight committees investigated the allegations and published reports, finding no evidence of fraud or scientific misconduct.[15]
Norfolk Police later added that the offenders used methods that are common in unlawful internet activity, designed to obstruct later enquiries.[5]
On 19 November an archive file containing the data was uploaded to a server in Tomsk, Russia,[23] and then copied to numerous locations across the Internet.[8] An anonymous post from a Saudi Arabian IP address[24]
19
Philip, you seem to have come into this rather late as your “research” is rather superficial. I would recommend that you investigate the record of Steve McIntyre’s articles on the subject at Climate Audit before you go any further. You are making a monumental jackass of yourself. If SMc is too technical for you, you may refer to WUWT for a more simplistic history of the lying and cheating exposed in those emails. And, as for Wiki on anything to do with climate science, it is so corrupted that there is little to rely on there.
70
… you might like to avail yourself of a copy of this book: Hiding the Decline by Andrew Montford which is a highly recommended and accurate text on the subject of the Climategate emails.
30
So who’s into conspiracy theories now, was it the dastardly KGB? Oh,I forgot. It’s the FSB these days.
The so-called exonerations were nothing but whitewashes. Not one adversarial question in evidence anywhere. Indeed, one ‘investigator’ purposely avoided asking Phil Jones any questions out of fear that he could incriminate himself.
Phil hints again at the ‘stolen’ emails angle. Earth to Phil: It doesn’t bloody matter! The emails are out there and there’s nothing you can do about it. Oh, the Norfolk police could not establish whether the release was by ‘hack’ or internal leak so again, your dissemblings on the matter are, as usual, worthless.
10
Streetcred, I have had a look at the latest attempt at messenger shooting on WUWT. My comment there reads:
So the time resolution for the paleo data is 140 years on the horizontal axis.
The entire data set on the horizontal axis is 16000 years. In other words the possible error for the paleo data is less than 1% of the horizontal axis.
You could shift the blue line to the left or right by this amount and you would never notice it.
This quibble is meaningless in the interpreattion of the long term data compared with the very raid rise in temperature as measured by instruments for the last century and a half.
01
Incidentally, David Middleton has responded here:-

Just won’t hear any ill of ‘the cause’, will our Phil.
00
Many think the emails were leaked. It makes sense when you examine the internal politics at play[at the uni.
00
So Phillip has bravely come out and asked someone to explain the phrase; “hide the decline”?
OK Phil here goes:
But first, as an aside, we all know that Marcott el at and et al has “cherry picked” the time period of 11,300 years so as to avoid some little temperature embarrassment relating to the end of the last ice age when the ice caps unlocked all the water stored and oceans ROSE 131 metres.
But no, we aren’t looking at that because that was 18,000 years back well before this “impotent” paper of Marcott et al.
So oceans rose and then stabilised about 8,000 years ago, after which sea levels oscillated through 1 or two metre rises and falls up until 4,000 years ago, just after the pyramids at Giza were finished.
So now to your question Phil “hide the decline”?.
Phil if any body is trying to hide the decline of the last 4,000 years it is the warmers at SkS , the UEA the IPCCCC the UWA and Sussex Street.
The fall of sea level by 1.2 metres over the last 4,000 years is a well known Geological occurrence and is undeniable. We don’t deny it at all Phil.
Any minor fluctuations since then are nitpickingly irrelevant but IF and only if we can imagine, pretend we are Algore, and can envision oceans rising 1.2 metres we would be back where we were 4,000 years ago.
Sort of like back to the future.
If we imagine A L’Algore, that oceans will rise by 2 metres, then we would be replicating ocean levels of 8,000 years ago.
We don’t deny it Phil and wonder why you are trying to “hide the decline”?
KK 🙂
30
Nice One,
SkepticalScience again? You are a failure all the way around, aren’t you?
112
What would they do without SS?
Reminds me of university students who won’t look past the prescribed textbooks and will faithfully regurgitate slabs of that textbook in exams.
So much easier than thinking!
81
Except that SkS could hardly be considered a text book.
Its more like his big sister’s note.. and she failed miserably and now works on the street corner.
71
One could hope for a glimmer of light to get through somehow, someway.
20
Well, Nice One.
Let me congratulate you.
In trying to direct the conversation towards just one known example of dubious practice, you have managed to bring to the fore a whole range of dubious practices that people may have forgotten about. People will now be remembering, for example, the email where Phil Jones threatened to “redefine what the peer process is”, and in retrospect, they will realise that was what actually occurred.
You are relatively new at this propaganda stuff, aren’t you?
181
So where is Climategate 3? Holding my breath in anticipation, licking my lips too.
221
It will probably come just weeks before the IPCC report?
91
The poster above reminded me of the gentle, one hour discussion between Michael McLaren and Dr Amy McGrath author of “Wolves in Sheep’s Clothing”.
They discuss Agenda 21, the influence of Fabians on the world, Global Warming (briefly).
The audio is available here http://www.2gb.com/audioplayer/7717
It is well worth an hour of your time.
132
Spot on Frank and thanks for the link.
Here we all are discussing the details of a pseudo scientific fraud (as if it matters).
Climate change is a fraudulently created catalyst to bring about change. It was devised by powerful people in the Club or Rome and the Fabian society among many other secret Marxist anti capitalist and anti democratic groups. “Environmentalism”, “Sustainable Development”, “Biodiversity” are all lovely sounding words that conceal a secret and despicable plot to erode Australuan sovereignty and pass ownership to Unelected officials in the UN who wish to destroy out society and our culture and move toward totalitarian dictatorship.
Did you know Julian Gillard is a Fabian?
Did you know Greg Combet is a Fabian?
We can debate the intricate details of this global warming FRAUD for as long as we like.
This website is basically an asylum for climate change skeptics.
While we talk and talk and talk we achieve NOTHING while the SHEEPS IN WOLVES CLOTHING continue to take control.
301
The Fabian Society plans is to implement world socialism incrementally through legislation. They are doing this via Agenda 21. ‘Sustainability’ is one of their their weapons.
Hands up all those who want a Fabian PM.
151
Too late. :
He also appointed a new Chief Justice of the High Court who felt unconstrained by the original intent of the Constitution and who was amenable to reinterpreting Australia’s Constitution in ways helpful to Hawke. Hawke stacked the High Court with judges Mason, Toohey, and Gaudron in 1987, and in less than 9 months they heard a case in which Mason reinterpreted the Constitution in a way that would also allow nationalisation of the major banks.
Sounds like… if interstate trade is “absolutely free” then bank transactions can’t be controlled by government. Clearly a roadblock to national socialism.
In the same speech above, Hawke admits Nationalisation of the banks was a goal the Fabians in the ALP had previously failed to achieve in 1947 when high court judges applied and interpreted the law exactly as it had been intended.
Not that the Constitution turned to be much of an impediment to old Hawkey:
Alternative means? Yeah. Fabians bought our banking system for a bunch of crayfish.
Scared of a Fabian Prime Minister?? Too late. Sneaky, aren’t they?
61
Moreover, did you realise that SIX Aussie Prime Ministers now have been members of the Fabian Society?
Whitlam, Fraser, Hawke, Keating, Howard, Gillard.
31
And what percentage of Australians know this?
I’m guessing 0.1%
Why all the secrecy? What don’t they want us to know?
40
You sure about Fraser and Howard being fabians Rod?
10
Hi Willy.
Considering they both did next to bugger-all in repealing any of the socialist legislation enacted by the ALP why be surprised?
Consider also that behind the theatre of parliament, all the ‘actors’ are hob-nobbing it together at the bar.
Seems to me that the coalition’s job is merely to provide surpluses for the ALP to splurge.
40
Mark, that could be just an argument that Fraser was generally ineffective at everything, not necessarily that he was a FS member.
On the other hand, the landmark Cole vs Whitfield verdict was (unusually) a unanimous verdict, and the other three High Court judges on that case not appointed by Hawke were appointed by Fraser. That could be just co-incidence, maybe.
As for Howard the Coward, well he did whatever he was told. He was just doing his duty. The NBN is only half built and it already has more backbone and fibre than he ever did. Confiscate guns. Make every business a tax collector. Retroactive legislation. Forward deployment. Encourage citizens to spy on each other. Advocated a carbon ETS. All failures to stand up for self-determination.
The Liberal party a few years ago proposed to have all superannuation contributions sent to the ATO instead of directly to super funds! How convenient!
Does anybody still believe there is any significant difference between the Labor and Liberal parties?
Vote independent every chance you get. A completely inept unknown random member of the public could not do more damage to society as an MP than the Labor Liberal duopoly.
42
This is where that info came from. I must admit it is not a verifiable source. However I have the same list from other sources which I can’t find at the moment. Note later on in the forum someone asks whether or not Krudd should be on the list. I have never seen anything that suggests that he has or had anything to do with it.
If he has not, there is certainly a distinct possibility that this is one of the reasons (or the only one) the faceless men gave him the chop. It hurts me deeply to even hint at some sort of defense for him. Then on the other hand, I have never met him, and I know how vile cruel and ignorant the faceless men (and women) can be.
10
Sorry… I forgot to include the link
10
Here is a shorter list
10
Absolutely Andrew! That’s what I’ve been doing for a long time now.
00
“Vote independent every chance you get. A completely inept unknown random member of the public could not do more damage to society ”
Seriously. ????? Think Windsor and Oakshott !!
30
Andy,
Surely it would not have been a surprise to anyone where Windsor’s real allegiances lay. He had history in NSW as a State ‘Independent’. Added to which he is the cousin of Bruce Hawker, the ALP heavyweight.
Oakeshott also has history on the NSW state scene. If the people are too stupid to pay attention then they will get shafted.
Why would anyone just vote for a party zombie who will just do what he/she is told to do which is often against the wishes of his/her constituents?
Too many people vote for someone they think can win rather than someone who shares their beliefs. Disappointment awaits.
10
Wouldn’t have thought the Fraser and Howard were Fabians … maybe Fraser at this point in his life but I just put that down to advancing senility.
40
You don’t even have to believe in Fabian conspiracy theories necessarily to despise them, even though their history lends itself to such beliefs, given their morally bankrupt philosophy, egregious apologies for the mass murders of Stalin, and their sorry involvement in initiating the eugenics movement in the early 20th century that led to inspiring the Nazi final solution.
The mere fact that every Fabian in history was seemingly economically illiterate, and left their respective economies heavily indebted with dwindling productivity, stagnating business confidence and rising inflation and unemployment, should be enough to convince people that anyone with the faintest association with this society should be blackballed from ever attaining a position of responsibility in the administration of any nation’s finances- ever.
Swan, Gillard, Whitlam, Keating, Blair, Gordon Brown- it is like a reverse honour roll. The only thing the know how to run is an economy………into the ground.
220
An exception was Charles Dickens, one of the original Fabians. although famously perennially in debt, his books constantly advocate prudence in wealth management. The most famous is from David Copperfield.
“Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure nineteen [pounds] nineteen [shillings] and six [pence], result happiness. Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure twenty pounds ought and six, result misery.”
Despite this and other many other Dickensian homilies on prudent economic management, socialists remain wedded to Magic Money Tree economics.
150
Good point, Kevin.
Perhaps Dicken’s recurrent experiences in debtor’s prison sharpened his economic awareness. Nothing like financial failure to add perspective. No doubt he was an enormous success otherwise as an author of great facility, especially when compared to the inflated ego of the world’s most overrated author, fellow Fabian George Bernard Shaw, an awful man whose every word was a vanity project.
70
But Dickens didn’t like the young Pre-Raphaelites one bit and said so in print. It took Ruskin to turn public opinion in their favour.
30
Just love the term “Magic Money Tree Economics”
10
There is also the distinct possibility that some of these individuals are coerced into membership because of peer pressure, and don’t quite understand all of the implications. These folks are after all only human. It wouldn’t be the first time that a person joined an organisation only to find out later that it is rotten to the very core.
30
Very appropriate, the wolf in sheep’s clothing being an original symbol of the Fabian Society from its inception under the Webbs.
60
It must be cold. That poor doggy has been dressed up in very warm clothing.
110
Thanks Jo
Re-reading this stuff after lunch not a good idea.
Should be a ceremony to mark release of Climategates I & II.
Perhaps outside state Liberal HQs and/or MP offices?
Chris Hunt confirmed in weekend AFR party’s determination to support Combet’s Carbon Farming Initiative.
Minister Combet has approved four methodologies: destruction of methane generated from manure in piggeries; capture and combustion of landfill gas; environmental planting and savannah burning.
Should creation of a controversial new class of financial products be left to the discretion of a minister and his committee of government-selected activist agricultural alchemists?
Should this group decide whether a “methodology” measures up against the nebulous concept of “environmental integrity”, and whether it will have any measurable impact on the climate?
Should a minister alone determine whether, for example, manure can be transmuted into money, into carbon-cash?
Etc, etc.
Alice
120
Has anybody explained that we only get one reputation?
80
Great! When do I get mine?
41
You got one when you made your first step
60
I’ve spotted a hoax! This website pretending to be about science! Yay, outed!!
Now, where was I? Oh yes that’s right looking for Monkers peer reviewed science.
……mmmmm, can’t seem to find it!
443
Arr you a Fabian? Do you support Agenda 21? Do you regard yourself as a wolf in sheeps clothing too?

A Fabian Socialist, what a fool, how easily led
80
We are not surprised that you cannot understand

“website pretending to be about science!”
Ahh a regular visitor to SkS, I see.
You slimy moronic Punce !

KFC, you truly are a skid mark in society’s collective underwear.

JFC says,
Are you looking in your mirror again, JFC? You know you shouldn’t do that without taking your meds regularly. You see hallucinations too often.

JFC
Define “Science”, and then explain how your first statement makes any sense at all.
40
Totally OT. Congratulations to the electorate of Western Australia on their rejection of the Great Carbon Swindle. Hopefully this is the forerunner of a return to sanity in all the world’s developed democracies.
230
“Hopefully this is the forerunner of a return to sanity in all the world’s developed democracies.”
Unfortunately, many agenda funds to overcome first ! 🙁
61
Unfortuantely literature has been sent out to the WA schools championing the recent “Angry” summer propaganda from Tim Flannery and his mob.
20
Shouldn’t the slogan for EAU’s campaign be, “Watch Out – There’s a Gleike About” ?
50
UAE celebrated in the famous Monty Python sketch:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jF-CkMpQtlY
20
I meant UEA of course 🙂
10
Long live Monty Python!
But sometimes I wonder who the real village idiot is. I keep asking myself how we elected a man who is disliked and despised by every single even marginally successful person I’ve ever met. And we did it not just once but twice. How does that happen?
Who is the village idiot here?
30
He put on a better dog and pony show and the people bought it. Don’t forget the complicity of our media who will run headlines for days on anything even remotely scandalous if it involves anyone other than a Democrat yet conveniently downplay anything similar if it is done by a Democrat.
I can tell you first hand where some of the young votes came from after hearing comments like the following when discussing the election back in September and October in one of my classes:
– It’s a chance to make history and say you voted for a black man (regardless of whether or not he has any qualifications whatsoever for the office)
– He’s so cute (from the girls)
– He needs more time to do what he said he was going to do (regardless of the fact that there was ample evidence that he lied his butt off on his prior campaign and never even tried to do much of what he said he was going to)
– If I don’t vote for him my friends will think I’m prejudiced
– If I don’t vote for him my friends won’t think I’m cool
etc. etc.
A village idiot is nowhere near as dangerous as the mass stupidity of a mob and that is who he appealed to.
60
Let’s not even mention the voter fraud and the … and the … and the … and the final straw, the incontrovertible fact that the SOB is an angry black race hustler with a slick tongue — and his wife too. You should see the picture of her very angry face with her clenched fist raised in the air. Simple things tell you more than an encyclopedia about this first couple of ours.
We have left not only the front door open but the back door as well.
Now we begin to pay for it in earnest.
BB
00
Thanks for that – made my day!
30
To be fair, this looks like a perfectly standard message to be putting out anywhere, that lots of people use computers on the internet. Must admit I’ve never seen it on wall posters yet though. Perhaps there are some not so bright at the UEA.
40
Unfortunately thousands of people are conned every single year. And if not conned they simply accidentally give away what the thief wants. The wolf in sheep’s clothing is good symbolism, whatever the quality of the Photoshop job.
Any network of computers is dangerous, whether it’s my local area network at the office or the Internet.
40
I agree that people need to be reminded of the risks of cyber criminals. There is no shortage of gullible people who are naive when it comes to computing. There are also some very clever people who use social engineering to extract information from people they would not readily give up.
However, for an institution like UEA there are some quite easy changes they could make to their network to reduce the risks. They could for example subscribe to SecureMX and OpenDNS to filter e-mail and block known phishing sites.
40
UEA has been a joke for years. If anybody ever came to me for a job with a UEA degree on their CV, I’d just chuck it in the bin. Prior to introducing this policy I had interviewed a couple. Their depth of subject knowledge, powers of critical thinking & problem solving were . . . well below those required. This was well before climategate, so it explains a lot.
170
I know of industry-sponsored post-grad and Masters courses that have been removed from UEA for various reasons in the past few years.
90
Been enjoying these articles …and maybe even more the comments – it reassures me – I live in the Byron Shire where the orthodoxy is so achingly sheepy, stifles any debate, and fawns over every decision of its tofu-nibbling mayor. Ugh.
70
Can you spot an image of a sheep with a wolf’s face badly photoshopped onto it?
Do you understand the symbology and the irony of this caracature being used in this context?
60
That’s a very good point, Sonny. The old Freudian slip on their behalf. Well spotted.
20
It’s Them!
They bummed out on a numbers of levels with that one.
10
You mean, the scammers projecting their own behaviour onto their adversaries again, in attempt to deflect such association from themselves. Is it a conscious thing I wonder, or can they even see that they’re doing it ?
20
ha i didn’t notice that until now!!! i knew somethign looked strange!
10
Speaking as a professional, that is one of the worst Photoshop jobs I’ve ever seen.
Seems like Phil Jones lack of skill with computers is across the board in UEA.
60
Yep that was another outcome of the climate-gate emails.
Phil Jones inability to plot a series in excel. (He had to get one of his underlings to help him).
At least it gives nearly everybody I know the right to wear a t-shirt that states:
“I am smarter than a climate scientist”
60
Now to be fair, Excel is just a tool that anyone can pick up if they put their mind and their time to it.
Whereas greater mind are better spent on putting their time to what so few others are inclined to or capable of, like hiding the decline, homogenising the data, cherry picking tree rings and redefining the peer review.
50
Don’t forget the back of the shirt:
“…and so is my dog.” (or cat if you are more inclined to the feline)
30
My cat sure is! Just ask her if you don’t believe me.
00
UEA = University of Easy Access……..
80
The trouble with repeatedly referring to “agenda 21” is that it sounds like harping on about the “protocols of the Elders of Zion”.
24
Yeah I must admit, I think they called it Agenda 21, because it sounds so cloak and dagger it actually puts skeptics on the back foot. I dont like mentioning it to friends and family because it sounds like I should move on to showing my blurry pictures of bigfoot straight after. Its a worry when the people screwing up the world have the populace so confused that the voices of reason sound like the crackpots.
I never expected to be in my mid 40’s and giving up on conversations with people older and wiser than me because unless Im prepared to start the debate with a 1 hour lesson on basic scientific method and how questioning things is a positive, not a sign of border line instanity, then its not worth it.
On the other hand there are times when I think the “nice ones” and “JFCs” of this world might be better off with an enforced one child policy and not enough power to run small TV because the wind turbines arnt working. It would be some sort of justice at least.
80
It was called Agenda 21 because it was simply a stated vision of life for the majority of people in the 21st Century.
Admittedly, it was a vision where those who were visionary would be the leaders, and enjoy a lifestyle commensurate with being a visionary leader. Whereas those who were demonstrably unable to have the vision (because they didn’t) would provide all of the support, by way of goods and services, for the visionary leaders. This second group would be altruistically looked after by having all of their daily needs provided by the community, in terms of accommodation, transportation, food, and entertainment, all of which would be of the same high standard so that there would be no underprivileged groups within the working populace.
Now as somebody who has been engaged in observing Communism in the past, this all seems eerily familiar. But as we all know, communism was defeated when the Berlin Wall came down in 1989, so that must just by my imagination.
But, as somebody who has also been exposed to a lot of propaganda over the years, I have to say that the title, “Agenda 21”, is designed to deflect any discussions about its real purpose, rather than identify what it is.
The overt definition is what I wrote (more or less) in my first paragraph. The vision of life under Agenda 21 is always futuristic and clean and green and wonderful and everybody is happy, there is loads of food, and nobody gets sick, and there is always full employment, and loads of leisure activities to do, etc. It is like Club Med on steroids.
Any ongoing repetition of the title, “Agenda 21” is, in propagandistic terms, designed to imbed and then reinforce that implied vision into peoples subconscious. “Yeah, sounds great, Agenda 21, bring it on.”
But Agenda 21 is only a vision. The actual reality, that is currently under construction, is as any cogent person will guess, likely to be little more than subsistence within a ghetto environment.
So I never use that title without also explaining that it is only for the benefit of of the top 1% of humanity, and it will be to the detriment of everybody else.
In fact, it is better to never use the term at all, but to directly point out the vision that the World leaders have for our children, and our children’s children.
Giving something a name, also gives it some status and validity. Stop using the name, and stressing what sits behind it, causes the status and validity fall away.
110
I always thought the “21” represented the 21
dumb schmuckscountries that had to fork out all the cash, just goes to prove you learn something new everyday.30
…unless we simply stop providing them with all the goodies. We do collectively have that power. And someday enough of us will recognize that fact and start resisting.
00
It won’t be much longer before the only way you could resist this system is if your bones gum up its gears.
Cheetah.
BigDog.
PETMAN.
It’s okay, we told you what to dream.
00
OK, I’m scared. But none of that stuff was running on its own self-contained power. The Cheetah even needed to be stabilized by a boom behind it (hard to see) so it wouldn’t lose its balance and fall over.
Now make me one that can think! Then I will be really scared!
Then make me one that can do all that on self-contained power, hour after hour and I’ll panic.
Impressive though!
Then there’s Sigmund Fraud, a man who tried hard but couldn’t quite get beyond his organs of elimination far enough to do a better job of thinking. I give him credit for trying because someone needed to get started. But he gets a failing grade nevertheless. I think I remember someone posting to the effect that a bad idea stays around the longest. Seems to be true!
00
Completely disagree.
It is time that people were educated in the school of hard knocks.
Agenda 21 is not some foreign sexy sci film but rather the most important and dangerous piece of legislation being enforced locally in Australia as we speak. Everybody who knows about it has a duty to speak out loudly against this attack on our basic rights.
Do you believe in the right to own land and property?
Do you believe in freedom of speech?
Do you believe in democracy and having a vote?
Do you believe in freedom to practise your own faith or religion?
Then YOU oppose Agenda 21 and YOU are an enemy of Agenda 21.
160
Hi Sonny
Yup your right, but its finding the way to get the message acrss without leaving people feeling like you left home without your foil hat, therein lies the problem.
I do beleive strongly in indiviual rights
If I didnt support free speech Id be over posting on Skeptical Science or Penny Wong’s home page
I do beleive inthe concept of democracy, though I dont see much of it these days and voting should be a priviledge given to those smart enough to deserve it lol
Im atheist so, while I accept the rights of others to indulge in personal or group delusions, I dont desire it for myself.
I think I am opposed to Agenda 21, but I need to read more to be sure. So far Id say its safe to say I regard it as ant Lebertarian and unlikely to be somehting I would support.
Meanwhile I try to present myself in a way that doesnt make others wonder if Im playing out a real life role as Agent Mulder.
10
But Sonny, you simply illustrate what Safetyguy just said. Even though I agree with what you are saying, actually reading you saying it is like suffering the ranting of a madman on Oxford Street. sorry, but it all comes down to putting a message over and by concocting the phrase “Agenda 21” someone has created a ready-made own-goal for you to score with every time you mention it.
It wont work.
Either you have to find a way of applying psyop ju-jitsu and subverting their own cunning or you take another view.
That other view is the one I take: give em enough rope. Western societies areon their last legs. Most will have Muslim majorities in less than 40 years, thats WITHOUT immigration, just on the basis of demographic trends. No society has ever had a Muslim majority without becoming an Islamic state. When this occurs, first in places like Britain, Norway, Sweden, France and Belgium, then everything is going to change very rapidly. Some of it for the better. But on the whole there will be a dramatic Balkans effect. These countries will disintegrate into smaller, warring semi-states and fiefdoms, just as happened in the former Jugoslavia.
All your concerns are piddly-squat side-show mate. When the shit hits the fan we aren’t talking onerous Green laws we are talking mass graves in Yorkshire and convoys of refugees criss-crossing Europe in scenes like those accompanying WW2.
I am NOT advocating this. I am NOT putting a nationalist …ahem…agenda…up. I hope this does not happen. But I think demographic and trends, in the context of historical precedents, indicate that it will.
BUT it WILL mean the end of all the crap associated with our decaying culture being finally flushed. Including the Green crap.
So my view is, don’t waste your time trying to resist the piddly-squat side-show when the big steamroller of history is going to roll right over us, just a few decades up the road. Especially as its the only way its going to lead to any positive change.
Well, thats my mood tonight. Maybe next time I will offer you the Ju Jitsu alternative.
42
…”demographic and economic trends…”
22
I hate to say it, Ace. But the trend does look exactly the way you said. The unknown is whether enough people will wake up soon enough or instead, go on down the present road until the thing tips irreversibly toward the Muslim dominating world affairs.
I dread that possibility and all the more so because the President of the United States seems willing to encourage and enable it to happen.
10
If the socialist Fabian agendas had been taken seriously they would not have been permitted to hijack the UN and make it the centre of their global new world order, world government, ambitions that have been expanded into many different areas of influence and pressure points applied to sovereign nations from the human rights basis or refugee assistance that the UN was established to manage after WW2.
Happily several nations are now reviewing the situation and are expressing concerns. The key is finance, deny the UN finance for everything outside its original charter and for the army of bureaucrats that involves.
The global financial crisis is the motivating factor now, better late than never.
50
The UN seems to have been hijacked from its beginning. It departed from its mandate soon after it was formed.
00
Sonny I completely agree, one of the harsh realities in life is realizing that no matter how hard people try to have a peaceful good life there are always those who don’t want you to, why? I wont even try to explain, however if people have enjoyed the relative freedom’s and prosperity given by democracy they are wrong to think it is just “given to them” it’s the biggest problem with the population now, with the steady decline in useful education and incline of left propaganda the population has almost forgotten their duty to enforce their power in a democracy. I live in the so called “birthplace of Australian democracy” and find that description to be little more than a ideal made up by people who have no idea of what it takes to make a true democracy work, sitting back in relative safety musing over historic notes and artifacts while going to a book signing of some twat in a bandana is not doing your democratic duty! These are the very people that will push others forward when the crap hit’s the fan and out of those pushed forward even less will stand their ground leaving the only true believer’s in democracy that you will never hear about.
20
One way to look at it is simply this:
Would you rather be a wild rabbit, free to roam the range and take your chances with the perils, or would you like to be a penned rabbit, catered to in terms of feed, health, reproduction, until the day someone determines you are meat for the table?
Because the former is a lot like a completely free (Laissez faire) enterprise capitalist society (if only there existed such a thing) or enslaved in an Agenda 21 FEMA camp?
30
Why would a university want you to be able to spot a hoax? Wouldn’t that severely cut into the nonsense they pass off as education?
112
haha. you are dearly right!!! I’ve been able to get by in life without going to stupi-versity!!!
23
Yep, it shows Quack. Don’t need no book learnin’ do ya?
11
“Don’t need no book learnin’ do ya?”
You seem to manage without any !
10
If you’re an example, JFC, then book learnin don’t work. So why bother?
Get yourself a day job and start doing something useful. I hear janitors are in demand these days.
00
Although to be fair, your clear, coherent and deeply researched rebuttals of AGW are just as impressive as anything Monkers or Nova could come up with.
To wit:
That sums it all up really.
03
As someone who has returned to work on a degree I started years ago THAT was a much needed chuckle reaffirming that I am not the only one who has noticed how inadequate our institutions of “higher” education have become. But one must remember, as I am painfully made aware of every semester, that Universities are more interested in their income and protecting those faculty pensions.
71
As I mentioned once before, I returned to study in my fifties and was dismayed to discover that the subject I loved in the 1970’s has in large part been turned into a politicised parody of what it was.
10
I guess they don’t want any more climategate type leaks and fear that hackers could manage to pull off another release of documents they don’t want roaming around in the wild.
Or it may just be the realization that the world isn’t a very friendly place anymore. Ironically, they helped make it that way. Go figure! 🙁
00
After all, that poster was aimed at university personnel and students.

UPDATE 1: EU carbon slides below 4 euros as market awaits fix
LONDON, March 11 (Reuters Point Carbon) – EU carbon prices dropped below 4 euros for the first time in six weeks on Monday as traders said few companies were willing to bet on a price upturn while lawmakers remain at odds over a plan to cut permit supply…

U.N. panel falls short of ideas to rescue $215 bln offset market
LONDON, March 11 (Reuters Point Carbon) – Recommendations by the U.N. panel charged with breathing life into the U.N’s $215-billion carbon offset market do not go far enough to help attract new buyers of the credits, a lobby group of investors in the scheme said on Monday…

TABLE-Greece against EU carbon market intervention
LONDON, March 11 (Reuters Point Carbon) – Greece on Monday became the third country to oppose a European Commission plan to lift carbon prices by intervening in the EU emissions market.
In order for the so-called backloading plan to become law, it must pass a majority vote in European Parliament and gain a qualified majority of votes in the Council of Ministers.
Greece joins Poland and Cyprus in rejecting backloading, meaning member states opposing the plan now hold 43 of the 91 votes required to block it.
A total 255 votes in favour of the plan are required for it to pass.
Germany, the EU’s biggest emitter, is divided on the proposal and has yet to make a decision…

Going, going ……….. another socialist failure
40
Meanwhile in Australia carbon tax con price A$23/tonne …. another socialist stupidity
50
And one of the worst things. Otherwise responsible(or at least seemingly) groups like the AIG coming out now and calling for an ETS to replace the carbon tax. So whats been achieved? The real life analogy of boiling the frog. Bash us with some ridiculous and unsubstantiated nonsense like a carbon tax so when we are presented with a slightly less form of utter madness, an ETS, even somewhat sensible people will go for it just to be rid of the garbage that was the previous so called solution.
Then when you look at the fact that we are taxing Aus industry at about double and bit the rate of the EU level($15/ton vs 6EU ish), you actually start to be able to constuct arguments in favour of an ETS that make economic sense… Jesus… Humphrey Appleby would be hugging Julia as his best ever pupil of red headed, red taped bastardry on a scale Yes Minister would have blushed at.
20
The Aussie tax has gone up. I believe it is $25 per tonne at the moment, and it’s scheduled to keep on rising (Gillard wants it to reach $350 per tonne).
00
Regardless of the shenanigans of some academics in one unit, life goes on for the bulk of the staff and students of the University of East Anglia. They still need to watch out for phishing, which is a particular problem at times of the year when there are lots of innocent new students around the place. I see nothing wrong with this poster campaign. I think it is a bit of a tretch trying to link this to academic misbehavior in the climate research unit.
14
O/T but cannot believe the vile stuff i heard on abc brisbane radio early this morning (not to mention what i heard on an abc brisbane program “sunday night” with john cleary, which is a faux religious prog. on each occasion i’ve briefly listened in, Cleary & “religious” guests have done nothing but attack the coalition):
ABC Brisbane Overnights: Tuesday 12th March with Trevor Chappell.
Trevor continues his series on famous people He’ll discuss the life of the leader of the Opposition, Tony Abbott. What was his background, what shaped him as a person? His guest will be Dr Susan Mitchell, Broadcaster, journalist and author of ‘Tony Abbott, A Man’s Man’.
http://www.abc.net.au/overnights/
mitchell has seemingly worked for abc over many years, but this was my first encounter with her; that she was allowed to endlessly attack abbott(which a search online shows she has done on abc many times since her book came out) in such an hysterical fashion truly shocked me. chappell made an insincere-sounding criticism of her only near the end of her diatribe, and then read a listener’s message “A new low for ABC”. couldn’t agree more.
meanwhile, Newspoll comes out after a horror week for Labor & claims Labor/Gillard are closing in on the Coalition!! who did they poll? ABC staff?
meanwhile, Sky News Channel – which reported on the results of the WA election as if it was a win for Labor (except for one pundit) – had a top news headline on its menu yesterday – “Big Week for Labor” (this morning’s top menu story was “Labor’s Newspoll Bounce.
the “Big Week” story was perhaps a typo and should have read “Bad Week for Labor”, judging by the silly text on the menu about one of three WA Labor pollies who saw a swing to them says blah blah. reminded me of the WA election menu item on the weekend which had nothing but what Wayne Swan had to say. what has Swan got to do with WA?
u cannot switch on Sky News or Sky Business in weeks without a filler or news promo popping up within seconds showing Gillard looking “Prime Ministerial”. i’m still voting informal, but our MSM is beyond saving. and i only read or switch them on to check out their propaganda every now & again. i pity those who rely on the MSM for news.
finally, how does Four Corners do an entire program on the Eddie Obeid COAL scandal (coal can make money for me and my friends, but we’ll shut it down nationally) without a single quote from the Opposition? yes, i did watch the whole program. Yuk.
30
These are not 65 year old people who never saw a computer before–these are young people who probably have had a computer and email since they were in high school, bare minimum. If they are so “innocent” you have to tell them to protect their email, they should not be in college in the first place. They need to move back home and grow up a bit more. It’s pretty obvious there is reason EMAIL is addressed and not Facebook, My Space and so forth. It’s not that big a stretch.
32
University of East Anglia should boldly adopt a CRU Air Vent logo for their scientific enterprise. A resolve to guard the free flow of information and the freedom of discussion in all matters scientific would put their legitimate concerns over trolls and phishers in a good light.
As it is in the World of Warcraft over at UEA, the trolls, phishers and hackers are wielding their sword of truth. They should mount their battle ton tons raise a new standard.
21
.
To all students & staff at UEA.
I am currently in detention in Uganda and will never be released.
I have 6 million Ugandan dollars in an overseas account that I earned
from EU carbon credits by growing many many plants on the streets of Nairobi.
As I have done this to prevent CAGW and now unable to use this
cashmoney, could you please send me your bank acount details, email, passwords, pin numbers in
order for me to transfer all this money to you for a GREEN cause.
Waiting to transfer today.
Thanks sincerely
Nairobi Dorper Dave.
81
Sorry. I also gave that information to Al Gore and my bank account got moved to someplace called the Cayman Islands…..
71
Dave, Sheri,
Is either of you in the market for a good bridge? I have one for sale, very profitable and a historical landmark too; a beautiful thing with a bright red-orange paint job. I’m selling cheap. Just let me know if you want it.
00
OT but needed to share,
I am currently having a quite debate with a Commadore (no not the car)and he made this statement
How do i politely tell him he has been mislead?
11
There is some evidence to support his claim
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wind_power_in_South_Australia
I am aware that there is a big difference between rated capacity and actual production. However more detailed information which might allow one to dispute this figure is not easily obtained as it tends to be regarded as commercially sensitive.
00
Tell him politely to F#$% O like we do the warmists here!!! 8P
22
give the man enough rope………..
02
Wind was 26% of Total 3,349 GWh generated electricity for the year.
(24% was wind as a proportion of the total Nameplate Capacity for SA)
Wind generated was 32% of Nameeplate Capacity.
Total power generated for the year (12,706 GWh) was less than 30% of total nameplate for SA (4,975 MW).
SA seems way over supplied with capacity. It possibly has to be, because of these pesky windmills that can only ‘guarantee’ is it about 5% of Capacity at any one time.
10
For what it’s worth – Section 3, Page 16.
10
Suggests 32% of wind’s Nameplate Capacity was generated
20
Crakar,
Commodore – Navy or local yacht squadron?
If he is Navy he may just be quoting the official line.
If he is local yacht squadron, he may be quoting a financial sponsor.
Average figures are all about time. Was the 24% of the energy the average for the year? Or was it the peak output for the year? Or was it a period in the year when there were unusually strong, but steady winds, and if so, how often to these strong but steady winds occur?
What was the total power generated during the period? Does the 24% represent nearly a quarter of the actual power generated, or is it 24% of the nameplate capacity?
Why am I doing TonyFromOz’s job for him?
50
RW,
In theory it would be the official line but i believe it is neither, my parents have no knowledge on the subject and so thought wind farms were great and were taken aback when i showed my contempt for them. I took the time to explained the reason for my contempt but i got the feeling they were no more convinced than when i started.
PS its a shame you lost a day in the cricket, probably cost you the match.
10
Right,
So the Commodore is really just the parrot on some Senior Officers shoulder.
I preferred it when they just said, “Pieces of eight, pieces of eight”.
ps What Cricket? We have a Cricket Team?
20
RW,
Still there just changed the mantra and yes you do have a cricket team a real one not like ours that sack people for failling to tell the coach what he needs to do.
20
The wonderful thing about wind power is that electricity is “invisible”. People have no idea where it comes from or how it works. Since turbines are tied into the grid, the magic of the grid makes people think the turbines are doing something they are not. The only way to get someone to understand the problems with wind power is to have them stay in a house with ONLY wind power for a week, no storage. Then it becomes more clear that wind really does not produce useable electricity. I have often thought if someone could create a computer simulation that showed this, maybe we could convince people what a waste wind energy actually is. Maybe we could make a simulation with battery storage and have long enough periods of no wind to drain the battery, also. All of this happens in real life when you try and use wind and solar–plus wind and solar for offgrid living at any level approaching modern society is very, very expensive.
10
Wow… I am amazed that the Commodore was able to produce that in dialogue, was it the basis of HAL 9000.
00
…you’ll be chatting with an Amiga next.
00
O/T but interesting.
An interesting new study shows that the Arctic was 3.8c warmer than today some 3800 years BP and 1c to 2c warmer 2500 to 1100 years BP.
http://www.thegwpf.org/paper-arctic-3-8c-warmer-3000-years/
This study was carried out in the Kamchatka area of east Siberia. These earlier higher temps occuring NATURALLY with a tiny human population and no SUVs, planes, factories, CF power stations, concrete, bitumen etc. Amazing.
40
True enough Neville; also even if the IPCC is correct in its guess that over 50% of the post-WW2 warming is due to human CO2 emissions, that warming is well within the decadal and centurial temperature fluctuations of the past 10,000 years, regardless of the cause.
10
Another scare story:
http://io9.com/this-is-what-antarctica-will-look-like-without-all-that-452404119
– The volume of ice in Antarctica is 4.6% greater than previously thought
– The mean bed depth of Antarctica, at 95 metres, is 60 m lower than estimated
– The volume of ice that is grounded with a bed below sea level is 23% greater than originally thought meaning there is a larger volume of ice that is susceptible to rapid melting. The ice that rests just below sea level is vulnerable to warming from ocean currents
– The total potential contribution to global sea level rise from Antarctica is 58 metres, similar to previous estimates but a much more accurate measurement
In other words “Theres more ice in Antarctica than previously thought, but that means theres more ice susceptible to global warming! More chance of us all getting flooded by rising sea levels!!!”
Hey, theres more ice than we thought, but that means its worse!!!
**rolls eyes**
41
And much of that one-time imperial power and economic power-house Holland is all below sea level, so what?
00
The Comrade PTB have definitely changed the mantra since June 2012 – more specifically they have changed the watchword for the Party Line. ‘Global Warming’ has now morphed into ‘Climate Change’ and this will serve. Of course the climate changes, especially if government organisations like the Qld EPA are clients of a company like Weather Modification Inc, which they manifestly are and this is on their website.
Just like after 9 / 11, the ‘apprehend Bin Laden’ watchword for the invasion of Afghanistan morphed into the ‘weapons of mass destruction’ watchword for the invasion of Iraq. When that was shot down in flames by people like David Kelly ‘WMD’ became the new watchword for the war on Terra. Eventually they just settled for ‘regime change.
The ‘global warming’ mantra has served its purpose. It was the booster rocket to launch the Comrades and Change Agents into all the key positions and levers of power across the Grand Chessboard. Even though the ‘global warming’ watchword has now has fallen away with the science shown to be false, the Comrades, now embedded, will continue to badger away at the global totalitarian state (i.e. Communist) project and the human depopulation agenda.
They are now in a position to bring down all Western economies and that is exactly what they are busy doing 24/7/365 at all levels of government and through their Change Agent orgs.
20
Human depopulation agenda.
This is the elephant in the room. Nobody wants to talk about what’s going on because they will be thought of as absolutely nuts. Nobody wants to believe what is going on. But this depopulation is the absolute primary goal which will allow the globalists to achieve their dystopic vision of a “cleansed earth”. I predict within the next decade these programs will begin in earnest.
How will they do it? Simple. They will spray every major city. They have already been training for this. They already have control of the air space of every western country.
11
I wonder how they intend to de-populate China and India..
Or is it only the western technologies they want to de-populate.
00
“They will spray every city…”
With what, cat piss?
I apologise for my earlier postage Sonny, I assumed you were rational and could take it on board, but I realise I may have been the straw that tipped you over the edge.
BTW, in the 1960’s the UK govt exposed the entirety of England a bacterium in aerosol suspension sprayed from aircraft flying up the East coast. They wanted to use this bug to evaluate the practicability of a Soviet bio-weapon attack on the UK. Kind of like poisoning the air to guard against poisoning the air.
20
Is this intended to be Lewandowski bait?
You don’t sound like a sceptic to me. Sceptics want to see evidence before they believe wild claims. Where is yours?
11
I trust that the young people have taken note and reject the dark side and their agendas.
00
Here is the link to Sith padawan Bill Gates explaining the role of vaccines in depopulation.

If you have read Master Yoda uncensored in the Wookiepaedia, then you know “If once down the dark path you start, forever will it dominate your destiny. Consume you it will – as it did Obi Wan’s apprentice.”
Dead Baxter ferrets tell no lies – begun this war on Terra has. The peerless Peer and the Lord Monckton Foundation are needed in Australia.
01
Yoda had not discovered Christ.
10
Like yoda talking makes you smart it does NOT.
Time for you to learn some basic grade 11 high school level physics. It’s called dimensional analysis.
Here is Gates’ formula.
CO2 == P * S/P * E/S * C/E
Substitute the units of measure for the terms in Gates’ formula to see what units the left hand side must be.
[??] == [n] * [n/n] * [J/n] * [kg/J]
Where n is a dimensionless quantity. Cancel the units.
[??] == [kg]
Note it is NOT kg per year, nor is it average ppmv in the atmosphere. It is cumulative total ACO2 emissions. As in all industrial emissions of CO2 ever.
Since you cannot change the past, and we have emitted CO2 already, it is not possible to get this formula’s quantity down to zero. It is impossible, even inconceivable as it violates causality.
Therefore you cannot interpret Gates’ formula literally. Assuming he was not actually trying to be illogical, there must be some other interpretation to this formula that would represent his real intended meaning. Obviously (though not obvious to you) he was talking about CO2 emissions PER YEAR.
Therefore one of the quantities on the right implicitly has PER YEAR units which have been omitted. It could be Services Per Person Per Year, or Energy Per Service Per Year, it doesn’t matter. The point is that he wants to reduce Annual Anthropogenic CO2 emissions to near zero.
It doesn’t matter if that is a worthwhile goal or not, your allegation that Gates has a “depopulation” agenda is still total nonsense.
Since he wants to reduce poverty by increasing services per person, the decrease in the final result must be obtained by decreasing ANY ONE (or more) of the other terms.
Since you cannot increase efficiency exponentially forever, (ie decrease energy per service forever), the goal of getting the left hand side to near zero can never be achieved as long as you have the People quantity growing at all (let alone growing exponentially which historically it has been).
So with these basic bits of physics, math, demographics, and common sense, it should be quite clear that the only way we can interpret Gates’ remarks about population is that he wants to … are you reading this carefully, good, he wants to… reduce population GROWTH RATE to zero, so that it is not increasing exponentially any more. This would PRESERVE the population at its current level. This logically keeps the size of his CO2 “problem” from getting any bigger on the demand side while he works on increasing efficiency and decreasing carbon per unit energy within the supply chain.
Since Gates is funding development of a new sealed pebble bed distributed nuclear reactor system, to yield lower CO2 per unit energy, it is not surprising he is trumpeting carbon abatement on the global warming bandwagon REGARDLESS of whether he really believes it and REGARDLESS of his vaccine programme donations.
That’s right, Bill Gates is flying the CO2 reductions flag because he wants to make money out of nuclear power plants and stabilise the population level by decreasing infant mortality rates in the developing world. Oh my god, what a monster, what a terrible despicable thing to do. Saving lives and making money.
It doesn’t matter that Bill’s father was the head of Planned Parenthood. It doesn’t matter how many other alleged eugenicist control freaks you find in the wild and woolly internet. You don’t have evidence that Bill Gates is one of them, and certainly not from one misinterpreted presentation slide. If there really is evidence Bill Gates is planning to kill the majority of humans with vaccines, I’ll believe it when I see it, but this `aint it.
Don’t spam half-baked misanthropic alarmist conspiratorial ideation here.
Real skeptics stamp out nonsense no matter where it may appear.

I dont know what that rant was prompted by as I didnt read what it was in response to and dont give a monkeys. But it patently constitutes a shedload of sophistry in specious support of what amounts to mind-reading. Whoever Gates is and whatever you or he were talking about, NO, you dont actually know and cannot prove by raciocintation what he was thinking.
00
Hey Ace, you either bring evidence that proves Bill Gates is planning to kill billions of people with poisoned vaccines, or you shut up.
Not that I was even replying to you anyway!
Don’t be too proud of your lame-arse mind reading strawman. I stated an interpretation of WHAT HE ACTUALLY SAID IN THE VIDEO that is inconsistent with Linde’s depopulation interpretation but is totally consistent with WHAT BILL GATES IS ACTUALLY DOING with his money. I did not claim to know what he is thinking, I claim to have understood English in a way that passes Occam’s Razor!
And by the way, nobody can ever know what anyone else is thinking [Nagel`74], but I can understand Bill Gates’ spoken English, which no doubt constitutes “mind reading” in your book.
Maybe if you spent less time looking up big words to sound like a tosser and more time understanding the topic of conversation you might be able to make a comment that actually contains information and isn’t just misguided nastiness!

Its a slow day in climate skeptic land, so the old UEA emails are dusted off and paraded before the faithful again amidst chants of “Hide the decline”.
But since your hats are largely hanging on the idea that there is conspiracy amongst a cabal of dishonest scientists, its the only thing keeping your hats out of the mud.

You’d think if there were a decline somewhere, that there’d be a paper about it.
Did you notice a flurry of decline investigating scientific activity post the email hacking scandal? Me neither.
Must be those durn gatekeepers.

“Decline investigating scientific activity”.
Yes, someone wrote a book about it. But since its not published in a reputable scientific journal guarded by the gatekeepers you can just ignore it”. You go on believing that a few hand selected trees are actually thermometers and that all these scientists are well meaning honest individuals that are above being corrupted by political agendas.

“The Hockey Stick Illusion” by Andrew Montford.
Here is some homework for the warmers. Write a book debunking this.

That isn’t an example of irony.
Irony requires something to do the opposite of what would have been expected.
Given the UEA does not consider itself the perpetrator of a hoax, it is not against expectation that they would put out a message warning of email hoaxes.
Contrarians might consider it ‘ridiculous’ or ‘laughable’, but it isn’t ironic.
03
What’s ironic is someone who doesn’t understand irony telling us that we don’t understand irony.
Check the meanings.
“One” doesn’t have to be the target of the ironic event. WE would expect a department that got hired to prop up a climate hoax – which has since then been exposed as a hoax BY THEIR OWN EMAILS – would not go around cautioning people to be on the lookout for hoaxes WHILE denying FOIA requests seeking evidence of hoaxes AND supporting their own hoaxers at whitewashed enquiries! (Oxburgh didn’t even ask Jones about the papers McIntyre had complained about, just ask McIntyre.) The UEA couldn’t spot a hoax, and still doesn’t want to spot a hoax.
The UEA does not have to be conscious of the irony of their poster in order for the audience to correctly describe it as ironic. It doesn’t matter what the UEA expects because from our perspective we can see what will happen. The CRU coverup to protect UEA will only hurt UEA more.
The UEA’s sheep hoax poster qualifies as “ironic” under BOTH of the meanings given by Oxford.
You must be so glad you drew our attention to the precise meaning of irony now that it’s had the opposite effect to what you intended.
( Yes that’s an ironic statement about irony. I R O N C E P T I O N. )

Haha! You smoke him!

You can lead a horse to water….

Can you? Not according to Tim Flannery? Shouldn’t it be dry as a bone down in East Australia now?
Oh that’s right I forgot – He along with all the other warmers are employed by government not for their scientific but rather for their propagandist skills.

A slow day at the Climate Skeptic Desk is nothing compared to the complaints which have issued the length and breadth of the UK from the Campaign for Honest Conkers (autumn 2012). These conspiracy and cabal ‘None-ers’ swung by the Global Warmers crumble to bits when it comes to hard CFHC data.
The last Northern autumn in the UK was the “worst for decades” according to the CFHC and the game sufferred throughout Northern England, Scotland and Wales.
The cool, wet summer 2012 led to a direct shortage of servicable conkers and the cancellation of games and tournaments. This, in turn, gave rise to autumn ‘Blighty’ and ‘squirrel menace’. The Global Warmers can read all about this in the Yorkshire press.

Interesting post at Mike Smith News in his thread on the antarctic sea ice extent.

Has no-one mentioned the obvious irony of an outfit that cries wolf using that poster?

Heres another idea……the notion they are worried about loose lips sinking security on campus put it in my head, actually its three ideas:
1) Just bribe some student in the loop for the flaming passwords. The skint ones will drop their knickers for cash whilst the rich ones always need more cash for coke.Well, thats based on the university I live at.
2) Actually infiltrate the department by offering to pay some student their fees in exchange for undertaking the mission.
3) Get these ideas circulating, rumourised and meme-eographed so that the feckers are subjected to a paranoid uncertainty about every student and post-grad in their midst. Sow suspicion among them. Yeahhhhh, lovely,I like it, rub me hands when I as finished typing.
The dumbass poster gave me these ideas and now they are on the web, theyve only themselves to blame.

You are scary sometimes!! 🙂
Sure, blame the poster.

[…] Instead, they search for rainbows and unicorns. East Anglia University are trying to spot hoaxes. Oh the irony? […]
