It’s the same dataset, only removing all preceding years with higher sea ice extent to create a misleading impression. Here’s what the full interactive dataset actually looks like: https://nsidc.org/arcticseaicenews/charctic-interactive-sea-ice-graph/

          >”It’s the same dataset”

Then that’s a problem because the actual dataset data for the graphs disagrees with both graphs:

          Sea Ice Data
          https://nsidc.org/arcticseaicenews/sea-ice-tools/

          1. All daily (single day and five-day trailing average) extent values in one file, updated daily (Sea_Ice_Index_Daily_Extent_G02135_v3.0.xlsx)

          Day 114 2013 – 2024
          14.054 13.762 13.951 13.493 13.467 13.414 13.221 13.528 13.578 13.761 13.892 13.972 (Apr 23rd 2024)

          Charctic Day 114 (Simon): 14.012
Charctic derived Day 114 (Krishna): 14.05ish

So going by actual data Day 114 2024 (Apr 23rd) is highest for Day 114 in the last 10 years – not 20 years as per Krishna.

Climate Reanalyzer’s graph conforms to Charctic (Simon’s, not Krishna’s) for the Arctic but again the data on the plot disagrees with the Daily source data.

The reason is Charctic and Reanalyzer plot the 5 day trailing average – NOT the actual daily data.

Still doesn’t explain the wildly different plots – Krishna vs Simon – of the same data (but see next comment).

The source data is NSIDC Sea Ice Index V3 which can be obtained in 2 different layouts on 2 different spreadsheets.

The source .xlsx file linked previous provides tabs for firstly the Daily Extent and secondly the 5 Day Extent. There’s several other tabs after e.g. Anomaly.

The data for Day 114 (23rd April) is:

            13.972 Actual Daily Extent
14.012 5 Day Trailing Average Extent (Graphed)

The other layout can be obtained via the documentation page:

            On page 28:

To access the daily data, click on the links below.

            • South: https://noaadata.apps.nsidc.org/NOAA/G02135/south/daily/data/S_seaice_extent_daily_v3.0.csv

There’s no 5 Day trailing average data, just the actual Daily Extent:

            04, 23, 13.925,

The User Guide says this re graph plotting on page 29:

            2. Smooth ice extent time series
On daily scales, these extent values can have fairly large variations, both due to real changes in ice extent from growth, melt, or from motion of the ice edge, and due to ephemeral weather and surface effects. This short-term variability is not meaningful. To reduce it, the daily extent series is smoothed using a 5-day trailing mean.

The extent value for a given day is averaged with the extent value from the previous four days, and this average value is plotted.

Actual daily is very meaningful over a decade of data for the same day each year as for Day 114 previous.

Next: The 5 Day trailing average data.

              >”The data for Day 114 (23rd April) is:”

5 Day is Day 115, not 114. Doesn’t make much difference.

5 Day trailing average data from source file.

              Day 115 2013 – 2024
              14.109 13.795 13.91 13.539 13.549 13.509 13.241 13.525 13.558 13.786 13.944 14.012

I said 2024 was highest in 10 years previously but actually 11 years.

The reason for the difference in graphs – Krishna vs Simon – is that Simon’s link is the default graph where all years are hidden except 2024 and 2012 are switched on (see side bar: Hide all years is the default plus 2024, 2012).

Click Show all years then switch 2024 on and off to see where it is in the spaghetti.

To replicate Krishna’s graph 2013 – 2024 on Charctic click Hide all years. This leaves 2024 switched on.

              Switch on 2023 – 2014.

This replicates Krishna’s graph for the last 11 years and yes 2024 is highest. But Krishna is wrong to say highest in last 20 years, it is 11 years. 2013 was higher than 2024.

Switch to Show all years then switch on the years closest but just above 2024 and the year below:

              2003 14.206
              2002 14.112
              2000
              1997
              1996
              1995
              1990 14.203 (2024 14.012)
              1989 13.909

So it is not as if 2024 is a catastrophe when it comes in between 1989 and 1990 on day 115.

You are using a three week old graph. The one from Krishna is much more up to date so the sea ice seems to be holding up well.

Either way, it doesn’t seem like the ice is vanishing… or from the Antarctic either. Much ado about nothing.

I think we are like a bunch of kids who have just learned to measure things, lots of astounding accuracy but no adult understanding of what the measurements mean.

A classic case of only supplying half the information by the NSIDC, giving a false impression. The northern sea ice extent show by the Danish Meteorological Society (ocean.dmi.uk) clearly shows the 2024 Arctic ice extent higher than preceding years. But the NSIDC graph carefully excludes the data from the last three years, giving the false impression that the Arctic sea ice is lower, but in fact it is higher.

And the graph format you have chosen to show us Simon, hides the last few years, only showing the worst case. Why did you do that? Why weren’t you prepared to show us how this year is proceeding compared to the last few years? I’m really sick of folks only giving half the story to distort the truth.

Feels like it, here in N Scotland’s Inner MorayFIrth. Been coldest Late( or all ) APRIL that we can recall & Hearsay from elderly Neighbours , years ago, that 1947 was frozen well into MAY – but then it turned into a “topper of a Summer” and crops were as good as could have been expected.
As I’ve been commenting for some time now on various Blogs: Where does all this cold come from, if the Arctic is melting and the earth on fire.

“Febuary 24th 1917—The stunt was over. I wish words were eyes and ears and feelings. We travelled east all day. Cleopatra’s old camping ground awoke to the rumbling of chariot wheels—eighteen pounders! The desert became harder. Excitement rippled among us. We were only a portion of the Desert Column, the New Zealnd Brigade and the Second Light Horse Brigade, and of course our little mascots—the guns. Presently from the screen away out in front floated a wild shout. Our hands itched to our rifles; we listened for the burst of shell and the scream of shrapnel. Men in the screen stood in their stirrups; they turned and waved, pointing excitedly. Surely they must see the Turkish cavalry! We rode on, curious as possible. Presently some shouts from the head of the column—men were standing in their stirrups, pointing across the desert. Our horses pressed on. Then we saw them. Scarlet poppies! Wild flowers and scarlet poppies. They might have been born of the very love of Anthony and Cleopatra: we thought them as wonderful as if they had been. Could this really be the end of the everlasting desert! “

On the subject of Anzac Day – today – it is noticeable and highly significant that the Google header is not commemorating this most auspicious day in Australia, just as they did not commemorate Australia Day. These left leaning tossers can celebrate Diwali or Ramadan or even Save the Disabled Lesbian Whales Day, but patriotism, pride in your national heritage and history must be erased – because you’re a bunch of white colonialists, eh?

Government figures show that 13,102 people ended their lives under Maid in 2022 – an increase of 30% on the previous year.

“No other country has had these numbers in terms of the rate of growth after introducing assisted dying laws,” said Gaind. “The precipitous growth that we’ve had is unparalleled anywhere.”

The next battleground in the expansion of Maid is the inclusion of people with chronic mental illness. When it was forced to rework its laws, the federal government faced pressure from senators to include mental illness as a reason for accessing assisted death.

Some of the vaccine dissident medicos believe that the incorrect use of ventilators in the ER wards was responsible for a lot of fatalities that should not have occurred. Remdesevir and Paxlovid – the anti virals of choice – were in many cases harmful, and mostly useless.

So would it be fair to say that only 6% of those ALLEGED Covid deaths were among those who stayed at home? Or is it simply what we already know – that almost everybody got Covid and, no matter what the actual cause of death, they were classified as Covid deaths just because they tested positive when they got run over by that truck and died in A&E?

The “Office of the eSafety Commissioner” (censorship office) was set up by the fake conservative Liberal Party, loved by the Labor faction of the Uniparty, and is run by a pro-censorship activist, Julia Inman Grant.

Did you know Albanese spent $40,000 of taxpayer money sending Grant to the WEF in Davos to indulge her censorship fantasy? I reckon I could get to Davos for a lot less than $40,000.

    https://www.theepochtimes.com/world/40000-of-taxpayers-money-spent-on-online-content-moderators-trip-to-wef-5634275

In the following short video the censor is at the WEF in Davos and says how she believes freedom of speech needs to be “recalibrated”.

    https://m.youtube.com/shorts/h96g176WnqY

Concerning the terrorist stabbing of the priest in Sydney, the subject of the latest censorship notice, the priest himself doesn’t want it taken down.

    https://www.smh.com.au/politics/federal/stabbed-bishop-backs-elon-musk-in-fight-to-air-church-attack-footage-20240424-p5fm6e.html

The Sydney bishop allegedly stabbed by a young terrorist has sided with Elon Musk in the billionaire’s censorship war with Australia, arguing video of the assault should remain online.

How dare Grant tell us what we can and can’t watch or read. And no doubt this is only the beginning. Don’t forget they are trying to extend it to so-called “medical misinformation” and all other areas of human discussion and inquiry. And no doubt scientific discussion such as this blog.

And if it was not for extensive censorship of the truth during the covid lockups far fewer people would have died.

This is my submission about the “misinformation” censorship bill (not related to the present case) where I document many forms of misinformation- from the Australian Government.

More on Australian censorship and the Chief Censor.

    https://networkaffects.substack.com/p/julie-inman-grant-has-made-australia

Julie Inman Grant has made Australia a key player in the global censorship push

As the X stoush continues, a look at the eSafety leader’s origins and ambitions

    REBEKAH BARNETT AND ANDREW LOWENTHAL

    APR 24, 2024

Australia’s eSafety Commissioner, Julie Inman Grant has made international headlines over alleged censorship creep in an escalating stand-off with social media platform X, owned by billionaire Elon Musk.

Inman Grant’s current crusade is not an isolated affair. She is a key player in a growing network of international initiatives seeking to impose bureaucratic controls over citizens’ speech, including coordinating with high-level EU officials, the World Economic Forum, and government backed “anti-disinformation” projects such as the Institute for Strategic Dialogue.

The fracas with Musk involves Inman Grant obtaining an interim injunction to force X to hide footage of the non-fatal stabbing of a Bishop, which was live streamed during a Western Sydney church service on Monday evening 15 April.

X Global Affairs says the platform complied with a removal notice from the Commissioner to restrict content visibility to Australian audiences, but has challenged a further “unlawful” demand that X “globally withhold these posts or face a daily fine of $785,000 AUD.”

“Our concern is that if ANY country is allowed to censor content for ALL countries, which is what the Australian “eSafety Commissar” is demanding, then what is to stop any country from controlling the entire Internet?” Musk posted to X.

eSafety would not confirm if the removal notice ordered that X withhold the footage globally or just within Australia, but in a statement released on 23 April, the Commissioner confirmed that eSafety will seek a permanent injunction and civil penalties against X Corp over the matter.

Politicians on both sides of the aisle have come out swinging in support of Inman Grant, calling for more online censorship as they seek to exploit two recent knife attacks, one of which claimed six lives  to relaunch a shelved misinformation bill, with the center-right opposition flipping its position to now support the legislation.

At a time when the prioritisation of safety-at-all-costs increasingly threatens privacy and free expression, Julie Inman Grant provides a case study of the new global mindset driving the push for ever more regulation and censorship.

      From David’s article:

      Who is Julie Inman Grant?

Inman Grant also chairs the Global Online Safety Regulators Network, and co-chairs the WEF’s Global Coalition for Digital Safety, where she is looked to for leadership on digital safety policy.

It was at a WEF annual gathering in 2022 that Inman Grant made *that* statement about human rights being recalibrated, and the internet clocked a darker side to the bureaucrat’s globalist crusade for online safety.

I find the idea of Planet X fascinating. NASA released a paper some years ago talking about it. Planet X is sometimes associated with the Black Sun that can be seen on some Masonic Tracing Boards. Notions of the Black Sun heavily impacted political ideologies during World War II, with leaders from both factions subscribing to such beliefs.

I’ve been developing some sympathy for those that postulate that we live in a simulation.
Mostly because of the Webb telescope.

We had the ‘consensus science’ of the Big Bang, and whoops, we discover there are fully formed galaxies that aren’t supposed to be fully formed under the consensus theory.
I’m given to understand that the expansion that was once slowing down eventually to reverse, then was accelerating, is now slowing down again.

It is as if as the players progress deeper into the game, the background simulated spacescape is refreshed.
And fails at consistency because background consistency is not essential to the game participants experience.
This could also explain the Fermi Paradox.

Perhaps there is looming forced software update, which after, as per usual, I can expect access to most of my functions will become difficult unless I can learn a new pattern of clicks..

Just returned from the Anzac Day service in a very small country town a few K’s from where I live. At a guess 200 plus people, many youngsters, local school kids and scouts layed wreaths. Quiet respect, not a single ringing mobile and the odd tear. Maybe its because the general populations of “little” places are aged and most likely had relatives with a direct connection the the last big conflicts that evokes NATIONAL PRIDE, sadly a fair bit of talk about a ruined country. The very young girl who sang the NATIONAL ANTHEM was rewarded with a quite round of applause. We oldies are dwindling away but where we still have input the kids are learning what being proud of your country means. A single large flag was raised to the top of the flag pole, the Union Jack so proudly sitting in the corner with the Southern Cross

Popular Iranian Rapper Sentenced To Death For Supporting ‘Anti-Hijab Protests’

A 33-year old Iranian activist and rapper who has recently been involved in anti-government demonstrations has been handed a shockingly draconian sentence by an Iranian court. Toomaj Salehi was first arrested in Oct. 2022 for publicly backing the so-called ‘anti-hijab’ protests which swept the ultra-conservative Islamic country. But this week…

“Branch 1 of Isfahan Revolutionary Court… sentenced Salehi to death on the charge of corruption on Earth,” his lawyer quoted the court’s ruling as saying. The state laid out its case focused on a highly ambiguous charge of spreading “propaganda”.

World’s chocolate supply threatened by devastating virus

A rapidly spreading virus threatens the health of the cacao tree and the dried seeds from which chocolate is made, jeopardizing the global supply of the world’s most popular treat.

About 50% of the world’s chocolate originates from cacao trees in the West Africa countries of Ivory Coast and Ghana. The damaging virus is attacking cacao trees in Ghana, resulting in harvest losses of between 15 and 50%. Spread by small insects called mealybugs that eat the leaves, buds and flowers of trees, the cacao swollen shoot virus disease (CSSVD) is among the most damaging threats to the root ingredient of chocolate.

“This virus is a real threat to the global supply of chocolate,” said Benito Chen-Charpentier, professor of mathematics at The University of Texas at Arlington and an author of “Cacao sustainability: The case of cacao swollen-shoot virus co-infection” in the journal PLoS One. “Pesticides don’t work well against mealybugs, leaving farmers to try to prevent the spread of the disease by cutting out infected trees and breeding resistant trees. But despite these efforts, Ghana has lost more than 254 million cacao trees in recent years.”

Germany Passes Gender Self-Identification Law Allowing INFANTS To Transition, Imposes Massive Fine For “Deadnaming”

The German Parliament, or Bundestag, passed one of the world’s most far-reaching sex self-determination policies on April 12, despite protests from women’s rights campaigners. The Self-Determination Act (SBGG) establishes ‘gender identity’ as a protected characteristic and allows parents to change the sex marker on their children’s documents from birth.

Supported by Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s three-party coalition and promoted and supported by the Social Democratic Party (SDP), the SBGG also creates the potential for citizens to be fined up to €10,000 (approx. $10,800 USD) for revealing a person’s given name and birth sex without their permission – an action that trans activists staunchly oppose and refer to as ‘deadnaming.’

“We Need To Splinter The UniParty Into A Thousand Pieces” – Stockman Slams Washington’s Foreign Aid “Clusterf**k”

The clusterf*ck in the US House of Representatives this past weekend is surely the final straw. The dreadful grip of the UniParty on national security policy has finally produced sheer madness in a single package. To wit:

. $95 billion of foreign aid boondoggles that do not benefit America’s homeland security in the slightest.

. An extension of section 702 of FISA that wantonly expands an already egregious affront to the Fourth Amendment.

. The illegal transfer of billions of sovereign assets stolen from Russia to its enemies in Kiev.

. A national security ban on 15-second TikTok videos about dances, pranks, pets and poppycock viewed overwhelmingly by under 30-year-old Americans whose viewing habits are of zero value to the Chicoms in Beijing.

The fourteen GOP stalwarts listed below essentially said, no dice to these tired, dangerous, costly and risible formulations:

Neither Russia nor China pose even a remote military threat to the American homeland, while proxy wars and economic sanctions against “adversaries” demonized by the Deep State actually undermine domestic liberty and prosperity for no justifiable reason of homeland security at all.

Of course, the insanity of $200 billion of NATO funds already wasted; hundreds of thousands dead; millions fleeing the country to avoid the mayhem of war and the cruelty of being drafted as cannon fodder to serve the perverted pleasure of Washington’s armchair warriors; and the civilian infrastructure of one of Europe’s largest countries in shambles—all have nothing whatsoever to do with “freedom fighters”.

The undeniable fact is that there is nothing at stake worth fighting for in Ukraine that even remotely resembles democratic virtue.

It has been a cesspool of egregious corruption virtually since the fall of the Iron Curtain in 1991, and recently even required a visit from the head of the CIA to tell Zelensky and his fellow thieves to “knock it off” on the corruption front.

To the contrary, as the venerable anti-war writer William Astore put it, the real purpose of Ukrainian installment of the Forever Wars is the enrichment of the merchants of death who have captured the levers of power in Washington:

Of course, this is yet another triumph for the MICIMATT: the military-industrialcongressional-intelligence-media-academe-think-tank complex. Its power and greed are almost irresistible. Add that to AIPAC, threat inflation, and fear-mongering and perhaps it is irresistible until the U.S. empire final collapses under the weight of its own folly.

The West is about to make a major error in its economic war against Putin

One illegal act – Russia’s invasion of Ukraine – is to be countered by another

      JEREMY WARNER

There are few monikers more irritating than that of the “Global South” – the fashionable term for countries making up the developing and low income world. Nations of such disparate and often conflicting geopolitical and economic interest cannot be so easily pigeon-holed.

Yet there is one thing many members do tend to have in common, which is a generally anti-Western mindset. This assumes particular meaning when it comes to Russian sanctions.

That these have self-evidently failed is largely because major parts of the “Global South” have refused to be bound by them, thereby providing ample export markets for Russian oil – which after being refined is frequently re-exported to Western markets – and abundant alternatives to the West in meeting Russian demand for manufactured goods.

Lack of attention to the Global South has come back to haunt now that Western interests are threatened by an axis of Russian, Chinese and Iranian authoritarianism.

The developing world believes it owes us nothing.

Attempts to sequestrate at least some part of the £220bn of Russian assets which are frozen under the sanctions regime, and apply it to the Ukrainian war effort, have further stoked suspicions.

We live in an era of global money which is supposed to be governed by law of contract, yet the West casually disregards its own rules when it suits while still lecturing others on abiding by them. If the West can do this to Russia, moreover, it can do it to anyone.

If you are going to claim the moral high ground, it’s important to be consistent. Yet it seems that one illegal act – Russia’s invasion of Ukraine – is to be countered by another in the seizure of Russian assets.

The Global Times, a Chinese state controlled news outlet, had this to say about the matter: “To seize and transfer frozen Russian assets… will set a disastrous precedent against the existing international financial order”.

Nor is it an issue only of concern to Russia, its Chinese allies, and the Global South. “Moving from freezing assets to confiscating and disposing of them is something that needs to be carefully considered”, Christine Lagarde, president of the European Central Bank, said last week, which is understated central bank speak for “this is beyond the pale”.

Central banks are often accused of being essentially supranational organisations with scant regard for the nations to which they belong. Sometimes it’s true. During both the First and Second World Wars, they set out to operate in international money markets as if not a shot had been fired, with regular contact maintained and gold reserves scrupulously curated on behalf of hostile powers.

Yet they were absolutely right to do so, for theirs is the long view that one day the war will be over and order will be restored. Western financial mores must prevail throughout, untouched by human conflict.

That’s why Western powers are tying themselves up in knots trying to figure out a “legal” way in which they can grab the Russian money. It’s complex, and not wholly convincing.

Simply to help yourself to the assets would plainly be an act of unmitigated theft, and though possibly justifiable on moral grounds, would undermine wider faith in global money.

…and Putin has openly and repeatedly offered peace talks but neocon puppet Zelensky has been ordered to refuse.
The Ukrainians KNOW Zelensky is a puppet and traitor and that they’re all just cannon fodder to slowly drain Russian resources, but it’s not working out that way.
The west is collectively being militarily weakened and destroyed instead. Very soon the west will be seriously screwed and have ZERO choice but to initiate war with Russia.
Maybe that FBI warning about retaliatory terrorist attacks in the USA, as payback for financial backing of the Russian terror attack, is the trigger or false flag.

Stealing Russian Assets Spells End of US as ‘Bastion for Rule of Law’

Last week, the US House of Representatives passed a bill that would enable the White House to steal several billion dollars of Russian assets currently frozen in US banks under the pretext of aiding the regime in Kiev and punishing Russia.

US lawmakers’ efforts to confiscate frozen Russia’s financial assets abroad and hand them over to Ukraine does not bode well for the United States in the long run, said financial and geopolitical analyst Tom Luongo.

“Congress is literally throwing the entire concept of foreign exchange into the trash can and lighting it on fire by giving President Biden this power, which no one should have,” he told Sputnik.

“This isn’t about Russia or anyone’s opinion about what they are doing in Ukraine. This is about the US as a bastion for the rule of law as it pertains to business and banking.”

According to Luongo, the US moving to brazenly appropriate Russian assets “will signal to the rest of the world that their money is no longer safe from confiscation if it is held in US banks,” that anyone’s assets could be seized as easily if they earn the ire of “someone in Congress.”

“Every country looking to do business with the US in the future now lives with that.

This one act is what signals the end of the modern era of finance and trade.

From here the world will fracture and the US will lose trillions in future trade,” the analyst remarked.

“This confirms my argument that US leadership [figures] are vandals intent on the collapse of the US rather than having any allegiance whatsoever to the people or what’s left of the ideals on which the country was founded.”

Dr. William Makis: When a Pregnant Woman Receives a C19 Vaccine, in Many Cases the Baby Stops Growing Within 24 Hours

“In pregnant women … the babies are being hit with congenital heart and brain malformations, and nobody talks about it, but it’s in the VAERS reporting system, … He points out that the injections have been linked to deformities, miscarriages and stillbirths.

“When a pregnant woman receives a C19 vascination, in many cases the baby stops growing within 24 hours.

    Or growth slows down.

This usually results in premature labour and premature birth, which means the baby is born much too early, usually at least a few months early,” says Makis.

“Of course, this puts the mother at risk, as many women die in labour.

    And from complications.

They die from blood clots, they die from bleeding complications.

Mothers suffer cardiac arrest during pregnancy.

They even develop turbo cancer during pregnancy”.

Pfizer ‘CHOSE NOT TO’ Tell Regulators About SV40 Sequence in COVID Shots – Health Canada Official

A senior Health Canada official says pharma giant Pfizer made a conscious decision to not advise regulators that its mRNA COVID-19 vaccine contained a DNA sequence from the Simian Virus 40 (SV40).

This information appears among multiple emails between staff from key drug regulators, including Health Canada (HC), the U.S. Food and Drugs Administration (FDA), and the European Medicines Agency (EMA). The information was obtained through an access-to-information request.

On Aug. 23, 2023, Dr. Dean Smith, a senior scientific evaluator in HC’s Vaccine Quality Division, wrote an email to a colleague at the FDA about SV40.

Health Canada had obtained confirmation two weeks earlier from Pfizer that SV40 DNA sequences were present in its COVID-19 vaccine.
