Moreover, the entire UAH record consists of three “pauses” each a bit warmer with the warming caused entirely by two super El Niño.

      See https://www.cfact.org/2021/01/15/the-new-pause/

There has been no CO2 or other GHG warming in the entire 44 year record. None! This is a direct and simple observation that falsifies AGW.

If there is such a long pause and CO2 levels are a result of temperature and not industry, where is the [CO2] pause?

But let’s look at this. One claim is that [CO2] and temperature are correlated and that little else is important to [CO2]. Since there is no dT at the moment but there is a d[CO2] this assertion is debunked.

The other claim is that CO2 influences the complex global climate system by keeping extra energy in the system. The correlation between the 2 is far from simple and global climate continues to be influenced by all sorts of other factors. This is not similar to the claim I debunked above.

First claim is not debunked by your lack of understanding of physics.

The oceans are a huge heat sink and continue to warm at a reasonably steady ratedue to solar influence.. hence CO2 continues to rise at a reasonably steady rate.

The atmosphere is warmed by the oceans in release events of energy at El Nino events.. hence for most of the time since accurate atmospheric measurements started around 1979… there has been no warming except at those El Nino events.

It is not the atmospheric temperature that causes release of CO2 from the oceans.. so your fatuous “dT” argument is total non-science.

If the constant rise in CO2 warmed the atmosphere, the temperature rise would be constant…. but it isn’t.

The CO2 warming presumption is thus totally debunked …. and has no scientific veracity whatsoever.

            ——–

Second claim is pure speculation with absolutely nothing in the way of science to back it up.

CO2 does not keep energy in the atmospheric systems..

That is proven directly by measurements showing that the slight decrease in the very weak CO2 band is more than compensated by an increase in the atmospheric window.

As usual, you are working from a non-science, mantra-driven baselessness.

          ‘ … where is the [CO2] pause?’

There is no pause in the rise of CO2, its going through the roof, yet temperatures have paused. The only conclusion is that CO2 is not a temperature control knob, unlike ENSO.

‘ … global climate continues to be influenced by all sorts of other factors.’

Natural variables rule, CO2 has no case to answer.

          30

        • #
          b.nice

There is absolutely zero evidence of any warming by increased atmospheric CO2, in any real data, anywhere…

There is also zero scientific evidence that CO2 affects the weather or the climate in any way what so ever.

The continued solar warming of the oceans, which are a huge heat sink, and basically level out the solar warming effect, explains why CO2 continues to rise at a more or less constant level.

In South East Australia a low TSI had an impact.

I think that in future, in Australia, the onus will be put on consumers to be responsible for their own powe.

The terrifying thing is that to grab unreliable power at the rare times it is available they’ll introduce expensive battery mandates.

Everyone will be responsible for grabbing and storing their own power for the random times it comes down the line.

If you have no power, that will be YOUR fault for not having a big enough battery, panels, windmill or even a rainbow coloured unicorn from which to harvest its f@rts.

I was recently researching smaller wood heaters as a possible option for keeping warm next winter, when I noticed that one of the accessories offered was a ducted outside air intake for the unit. Makes sense and it is something I never thought about, always living in draughty houses with wood heaters during my youth. If you have built an airtight house with wood heating, keep a window open.

It seems to me that having something like a Redflow battery between the farm and the grid, so that at least there is some buffer, say 3-4 hours , before starting the main generator becomes necessary.
For example next week the whole farm ,comprising ten different connections (water pumps , factory , houses etc.) will be down all day, while the whole country is awash with hydro power.

I really need to get Mrs H into care, but it is impossible until we get fully vaxxed. I can’t even check out facilities or lodge an application.

I rang my local state member’s office y’day to find out the regulation governing this and he looked it up and as of the 31st of last month there are no state regulations. I emailed the care home to find out what authority they cite and they have not got back to me.

        Is this Federal regs?

Before hitting “post” I rang my fed member’s office and was told that for residents, the jab is voluntary. Asked about visitors he seems to think that’s a state matter. A lot of bum covering going on methinks.

It is time to call climate alarmism for what it is – LIES.
For some time it has been known that changes in atmospheric CO2 concentration follow after changes in temperature so it is IMPOSSIBLE for the later CO2 change to be the cause of the earlier temperature change. The fact is that temperature determines the rate of generation of CO2.
Further, CO2 is an inert colourless, odourless, tasteless gas that does not generate any heat energy whatsoever, so again it is IMPOSSIBLE for CO2 to cause any warming of anything. It exists in the environment warming or cooling through conduction, convection or radiation as does everything else in a attempt at achieving thermodynamic equilibrium which is never achieved due to the ever changing configuration of the solar system and changes in solar radiation, the major driving force in climate change.
The ‘CO2 causes global warming’ scam arose when avowed communist, millionaire and Canadian representative to the UN, Maurice Strong, set up the IPCC in order to destroy capitalism via the demonisation of CO2, the source of the cheap, reliable power that created its success. By the way things are going, he is going to posthumously achieve his ambition unless we all speak up with the truth now.

    181

    • #

Unfortunately it is not that simple. CO2 is a minor greenhouse gas because it absorbs and emits radiation in wavelengths that are emitted by the surface of the Earth. So it is possible that increasing the CO2 might increase the temperature, by slightly slowing the rate at which incoming solar energy escapes out to space.

The natural lag you reference is 800 years or so, at the end of ice ages, so is not relevant to today’s case. My view is we do not know why the CO2 is increasing because nothing is being measured except the increase. Coming out of the little ice age is a possibility. Human emissions are another.

The problem is that this mere conjecture of CO2 caused warming has been accepted as an established fact by a lot of academic scientists. It now dominates the field of climate science and has been programmed into all the models.

As I explain in comment 1.2 above, I think this conjecture has been falsified, but much of the scientific community still accepts it. This is a blunder of collosal proportions but it is not lying because they believe it. This includes the thousand or so scientists who have written the six IPCC ARs to date.

      61

      • #
        Graeme No.3

        David W:

Not sure about the thousand or so scientists who have written the IPCC reports. Donna La Framboise reported many less than that for one report, and noted that some weren’t much qualified.
And “mere conjecture of CO2 caused warming has been accepted as an established fact by a lot of academic scientists” and many others.
        Sept. 3 2021
The conviction that global warming is melting ice in the polar regions has once again led climate warriors into danger and the need for rescue.  The MS Malmo, a Swedish-registered ship, was just rescued after being trapped in ice, and its passengers airlifted to safety.
Arctic tours ship MS MALMO with 16 passengers on board got stuck in ice on Sep 3 off Longyearbyen, Svalbard Archipelago, halfway between Norway and North Pole. The ship is on Arctic tour with Climate Change documentary film team, and tourists, concerned with Climate Change and melting Arctic ice.

        50

        • #

It only takes 200 for each AR to get 1200 and we’ll over 300 have been listed in each of the last three for WG1, so I am allowing for repeat authors. Qualification is irrelevant to my point, but all the highly cited climate scientists are devout alarmists.

It is what Kuhn called a “paradigm” which is a body of basic beliefs that guides research because it is so widely accepted. The paradigm itself is not in question and neither is AGW in most schools. AGW is institutionalized. Every model uses it. In fact in the CMIP exercises all the allowed forcings are anthro. Only humans can cause lasting climate change!

That Mann is one of the top scientists (based on citation by others) speaks volumes.

        David,
I am most disappointed with Your reply. Please click on my name which will take you to my web site where you can see the results from my analysis of climate data. There you will see that for an average Earth temperature of 15.5̊C (288.5̊K), 99.8% of the photons that may be absorbed by the atmospheric CO2 molecules will be from the 15 micron absorption band and these represent radiation from a source at -79.5̊C (193.5̊K), so they will not heat the Earth at its average surface temperature of 288.5̊K, and much more.

        20

        • #
          Lucky

          Bevan is correct, as usual.
There are three bands in the electromagnetic spectrum over which CO2 has this absorption property, none of the three correspond to temperatures at which measurable energy can be transmitted to the earth’s surface.
In theory, some energy may flow of the order of a few milliwatts over the planet,
In reality, there is no such effect as ‘Greenhouse’ in climate terms.

My view is we do not know why the CO2 is increasing because nothing is being measured except the increase.

We know full well why (atmospheric) CO2 is increasing. It is because sea near-surface temperatures have been increasing so the oceans have been outgassing previously dissolved CO2. Put simply, the colder the water the more CO2 is dissolved. The warmer the water the less CO2 is dissolved. Henry’s Law.

Why do you think the major commercial fishing grounds are in the North Sea and the Antarctic Ocean? Holes in the Ozone Layer?

    UN COP27 — It’s a gas, gas, gas
    By David Wojick
    https://www.cfact.org/2022/11/02/un-cop27-its-a-gas-gas-gas/

The beginning: “Who would have guessed that a UN COP would turn into a promotion point for fossil fuel development? COP27 is looking that way, thanks to the energy crisis and Africa’s determination to develop itself. After all, these are developing countries, right? In this case some of them want to develop, use and sell their abundant natural gas resources. Imagine the green horror! Poor countries actually making money from fossil fuels.

How, or even if, this rapidly emerging issue will get on the COP 27 table remains to be seen, but it is certainly a lively topic of discussion on the side. Europe needs gas and Africa has it; green agenda be damned.”

Scientists Just Discovered a Huge River Hidden Under Antarctica

Scientists have to factor in all kinds of variables when it comes to predicting ice loss in Antarctica as the world warms up.

Now researchers need to take into account a huge river that runs for some 460 kilometers (286 miles) deep beneath the ice; a distance longer than the river Thames that runs through London in the UK.

Experts say the newly discovered waterway and its offshoots have the potential to substantially affect the way that the glacial ice above it flows and melts.

The researchers behind the discovery used a combination of airborne radar surveys that can peer through the ice, plus water flow modeling. The large area under examination includes ice from both the east and west ice sheets in the Antarctic, with water running off into the Weddell Sea.

“The region where this study is based holds enough ice to raise the sea level globally by 4.3 meters [14 feet],” says glaciologist Martin Siegert from Imperial College London in the UK.

“How much of this ice melts, and how quickly, is linked to how slippery the base of the ice is. The newly discovered river system could strongly influence this process.”

“Previous studies have looked at the interaction between the edges of ice sheets and ocean water to determine what melting looks like,” says glaciologist Neil Ross from the University of Newcastle in the UK.

“However, the discovery of a river that reaches hundreds of kilometers inland driving some of these processes shows that we cannot understand the ice melt fully without considering the whole system: ice sheet, ocean, and freshwater.”

    The Methane Madness.

    Help me all.

As a first responder I have access to gas monitors which we use to measure… hmm, gas levels.

So what are the CH4 levels that are reportable in clear air? What can I read re CH4?… Nothing. The amount is so tiny that it does not register.

It is reported in May 2022, that we have 1908ppb methane in the atmosphere. That is 1908 parts per 1,000,000,000.

The site i refer to is:

    https://www.methanelevels.org/

Now world governments and the UN are saying we need to cut emissions of CH4 to stop climate change…… ok all good.

New Zealand is going to tax methane emissions, this is the plan:
    https://hewakaekenoa.nz/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/FINAL-He-Waka-Eke-Noa-Executive-Summary.pdf

The Australian government is also keen on cutting Methane emissions. It is reported by the ABC here:
    https://www.abc.net.au/news/2022-10-13/australia-set-pledge-methane-emission-reduction/101531516

Quote from article: “Federal government to pledge to reduce methane emissions by 30 per cent.”

    Ok.

Let us go to the Australian Governments’ “National Greenhouse Gas Inventory”.

    https://www.dcceew.gov.au/climate-change/publications/national-greenhouse-gas-inventory-quarterly-update-march-2022#emissions-by-gas

(Supplied by the Autralian Gov “Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water”.)

The interactive graph on the said Australian Gov website, shows that methane emissions from our agriculture have “reduced” from:

    18.78 (Mt CO2-e) December 1999 quarter, to 15.65 (Mt CO2-e) during March 2022 quarter. (16.6% reduction).

The Australian Gov wants to reduce our 2022 CH4 emissions level further by 30% in the next 8 years.

    OK.

Supplied by the GMI (Global Methane Initiative) is an interactive graph which “can be used to explore methane emissions measurements and projections throughout the world.”
    Link: https://www.globalmethane.org/methane-emissions-data.aspx

The data above was “extracted from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA) report, Global Non-CO2 Greenhouse Gas Emission Projections & Mitigation Potential: 2015-2050.”
    Link: https://www.epa.gov/global-mitigation-non-co2-greenhouse-gases

    Look at it for yourselves.

Now I am just a humble engineer.

    So to all,
I humbly ask: How can such an insignificant trace gas have any effect whatsoever on global temperature?

Like CO2, why are we taxing CH4 emissions? Why are we putting a tax on agriculture? It doesn’t make any sense.

the “evil” trace gas, CO2, at 420,000 ppb is a monster compared to CH4.

Better minds than mine may let me know what I am missing.

    Please do.

Nice article, however the two questions you asked at the end, namely:

      1) How can such an insignificant trace gas have any effect whatsoever on global temperature?
      2) Like CO2, why are we taxing CH4 emissions? Why are we putting a tax on agriculture? It doesn’t make any sense.

      The answers are as follows:

      1) No effect whatsoever. (maybe a smidgen, I don’t know) CH4 + 2O2 → CO2 + 2H2O
      2) Money or to be more succinct as ‘Sundance’ of TheLastRefuge would say “There are Trillions at steak” in other words they want your money.

The ‘elites’ want money, power and control over us plebs. History is just repeating itself.

      William:
Think of it as 1.9 p.p.m. of methane.
It is degraded in the atmosphere by hydroxyl ions (generated by solar UV).

It was measured in 1860/61 as 4.5 times more absorbing of IR than CO2, but since then that figure has grown from 12 times in the first IPCC report to 25, 35, etc. until 85 times more absorbing. If that was true then the increase in the last 40 years would account for half the Global Warming figure, meaning that CO2 was only half the threat claimed.

But the real reason seems to have been that cows emit methane so an excuse to shut down the dairy and beef industries.

      google it mate.

Also, there are other gases that at those concentrations will kill you in minutes.

There is no scientific evidence at all that either CO2 or CH4 cause any global warming at all.

But as you said the other day, about these anti-science scares.. “It doesn’t matter if its true”

        Leo G:

I have a great idea for CLEAN ENERGY using the Global Warming principle.
As you know, the idea is that the sun heats the earth which radiates Infra Red, which is “trapped” by CO2. This re-radiates the IR with half going to space and half back to the earth (as back radiation), causing the earth to warm up.
The answer is giant thermos bottles starting with warm water. The water radiates IR and the back radiation heats the water. Further the insulation stops most of the heat escaping to space so in a short time the ‘thermos’ will be boiling. Extraction of this extra heat would warm houses and other buildings without the need for electricity and without any CO2 emissions.
I am sure Chris Bowen would be delighted to pour billions of dollars into this.

A 23-Ton Chunk of Dead Space Rocket Is About to Fall Out of The Sky

China successfully launched the third and final piece of its new Tiangong space station on Monday – and the rocket’s 23-ton body is coming back down somewhere on Earth this weekend.

The Mengtian module, which carries science experiments, blasted off on China’s Long March 5B rocket. As it climbed into space, the rocket’s core stage gave the space-station module one last push into Earth’s orbit before detaching itself.

Unlike most modern rocket bodies, which are designed to push themselves into a remote part of the Pacific Ocean, the Long March 5B body fell into its own orbit around Earth.

It’s on track to descend into the atmosphere again – an event called “reentry” – and fall to Earth on Friday or in the morning Saturday in the Eastern time zone.

No one knows where the rocket body will fall, and nobody is controlling it. But it’s extremely unlikely that any debris from space will hit you.

Australia to Lead Global Fight Against Ransomware

The Biden Administration has announced Australia will head the international fight against ransomware cyberattacks as part of the U.S.-led Counter Ransomware Initiative.

The announcement, on Nov. 2, by the White House comes after the administration gathered 36 countries and the European Union (27 countries), for the Second International Counter Ransomware Initiative (CRI) Summit October 31-November 1, 2022

According to the White House, Australia will chair the International Counter Ransomware Task Force (ICRTF) to coordinate resilience, disruption, and counter illicit finance activities.

The ICRTF will also be used to develop cross-sectoral tools and cyber threat intelligence exchange to increase early warning capabilities and prevent attacks, as well as consolidate policy and best practice frameworks.

Additionally, it will generate resources for the public on “tools, tactics, and procedures” to improve awareness and cyber hygiene around ransomware globally, and will work with key private sector partners, including the establishment of an ancillary industry chapter that would be actively engaged with the work of the ICRTF.

The Medibank and Optus data breaches are a good reason to check your credit score. It could even help track down criminals

Millions of Australians have had their privacy breached in recent cyber attacks against Optus, Medibank and other companies.

Cybercriminals stole sensitive health and financial data that can be used for ransom, blackmail or fraud.

Law enforcement agencies are still investigating the origin of these attacks, but as experts in cyber and national security we can say two things are already clear.

First, anyone affected should check their credit record. Second, Australia’s international cyber engagement strategy — which sets the terms for how we work with other countries to maintain national cybersecurity — is desperately in need of an update.

Alongside stolen data such as a name, address and driver’s licence details, cybercriminals will need an email address, a phone number and payslips.

Phone numbers and email addresses used for communication and authentication are easy enough to provide, and fake payslips can be generated using free websites.

In some cases, cyber criminals can start using the credit cards instantly if approved. The victim will have no idea about the existence of this credit card unless the credit report is checked as part of a subsequent mortgage or credit application.

TikTok confirms Chinese staff can access European user data

TikTok’s privacy policy update includes an explicit statement that China-based company employees can access European user data.

Short video-sharing platform TikTok, owned by the Chinese internet company ByteDance, updated its privacy policy for European users, stating who can access user data stored on the company’s servers. TikTok said European user data is stored in the US and Singapore.

“Based on a demonstrated need to do their job […], we allow certain employees within our corporate group located in Brazil, Canada, China, Israel, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, and the United States remote access to TikTok European user data,” the company said.

According to TikTok, access to user data is guarded by “a series of robust security controls and approval protocols” as well as other methods that are recognized under the GDPR, the European Union’s privacy and security law.

TikTok’s policy updates apply to the members of the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, collectively recognized as “Europe” by the Chinese platform.

TikTok has over 1 billion users worldwide, with over 225 million in Europe and 80 million in the US. The platform’s rising popularity sparked security concerns over the platform’s data use practices.

Lawmakers and think-tankers fear China could use the social network to spy on the US population and the military. Earlier reports show that the company might have transferred data of American users to China-based servers.

This is outside the normal range of posts on Jo Nova’s blog, but I find it very interesting and very encouraging. From Magatte Wade (https://magattewade.com/):

Bono, who has long been a staunch advocate for redistribution and aid to end poverty, has now come out admitting that he’s been wrong all along.

After all of his years of activism, he has finally understood that redistribution is not the way to fix poverty.

Instead… COMMERCE of “entrepreneurial capitalism”, which some like to refer to as “entrepreneurial value creation”, is the only way to fix poverty to get people into prosperity.

Check out the quote from his interview in the New York Times here:

“I ended up as an activist in a very different place from where I started. I thought that if we just redistributed resources, then we could solve every problem. I now know that’s not true. There’s a funny moment when you realize that as an activist: The off-ramp out of extreme poverty is, ugh, commerce, it’s entrepreneurial capitalism.”

    How wonderful is this?

I’ve shared a couple of videos about this on social media here and here, because I think this is just so exciting.

“Clintel has sent an Open Letter to the Organization of COP27, the Organisation of African States, the Chairman of the IPCC and the Secretariat of the UNFCCC.

Ever since it was first announced, using the most powerful gramophones, concerning ‘the disease’ allegedly ascribed to a region, a bat, or other, Geert Vanden Bossche’s latest analysis or talks are always something i look forward to ruminating in order to make some kind amateur biological sense in my case of ‘the science’ as it evolves, as well as being food for further detail, thought or study, usually both.

His most recent writing entitled below is well worth the read in my opinion, and in my case perused more than once as there is considerable detail.

From Geert Vanden Bossche’s recent title:

    It is 5 past 12

Published November 2, 2022 on his website, ‘Voice For Science
    and Solidarity

Two parties, obviously fighting for a bone, for the same bone. There are the underdogs, I consider myself being part of that club so to say, where you have people that have a passion for the truth, that are independent critical thinkers and that strongly believe that we as living beings are just part of a big environment with other living beings in harmony with our environment. The principle and the concept of One Health and where we have an obligation to solidarity, right? in difficult times — that we hold together, that we help each other — no matter whether somebody is vaccinated or unvaccinated. And then you have the other party who is now in charge, so to say, the stakeholders of the mass vaccination and the technocracy and that are, of course heavily supported by the media, and that continue to propagate this narrative and that are inducing, that are causing a lot of, well, I call it ‘herd psychosis’ instead of ‘mass formation’ psychosis (a current term used similarly to mob psychology) .

Why do I call it herd psychosis? Because it nicely contrasts with herd immunity. I’m saying these two parties are fighting over the same bone where the third party, the third dog is running away with it. And so, what is happening is that what will end this mass formation psychosis, the ‘herd’ psychosis? It is the lack of herd immunity. The lack of herd immunity will eventually stop the herd psychosis because the lack of herd immunity will give, we call this in French ‘carte blanche,’ to the virus. The virus, if there is no herd immunity, can do whatever it wants and it will overcome the kind of ridiculous immune pressure that we are trying to put on virus. It will escape. And what will win, is not the technocracy, not, let’s say, the megalomania of mankind, but it’s simply the biology. And these experts, these scientists have forgotten about biology. They are blinded by technologies, whether it’s for diagnostics, whether it’s for surveillance, whether it’s for therapeutic purposes, whether it’s for preventive purposes. They have forgotten about the essentials of biology.

“Not Dangerous Once — Doubly So”

“If you recall I pointed out early on (2020) that one of the reasons we never had a coronavirus vaccine in the past is that they don’t work — not only do they rapidly fail to neutralize the virus, but in animal trials every single one of the attempts resulted in ADE to some degree — that is, they made the infection worse, frequently with 100% fatality rates on challenge with the wild virus.

I wrote on this extensively and pointed out that it would take quite a bit of time to develop the profile on this, because the entire reason it happens is that coronaviruses mutate at a very high rate. That is, you could easily run a short-term (e.g. 3 month) trial and not see it, but a year down the road…. aw shit. The really bad news if it happens is that the odds that the damage is persistent are very high, because the virus will continue to mutate yet your specific antibody profile and recall through B and T-cells is fixed by the (foolish) inoculation you received.

    Well, here we are.”

Bluntly, the parasites in power are banning fossil fuel exploration and telling oil companies they will be out of business in a couple of decades. So the oil companies are slowing production to preserve what they have for when the REAL sh!t hits in a few years and we are all drastically short of fuel.

At that time today’s prices will just be pocket money and they are safe as developing any new fields takes decades. For the rest of us, we’re screwed!

‘Solar indirect effects are inadequately treated by climate models, which would act to amplify solar cooling.

‘A shift to the cold phase of the Atlantic Multidecadal Oscillation is expected in the next decade, which influences not only global temperatures but also Greenland mass balance and Arctic sea ice.

‘Once you include alternative scenarios of natural variability, temperature change by 2100 could easily be below 2oC and even 1.5oC. Recall that this warming is with reference to a baseline of 1850-1900; 1.1oC warming has already occurred.’
