If you look back in a couple of years from now, that data point will have been homogenised. 28.4 sounds about right, just ask the bureau.

Data used to be data and adjustments frowned upon. Those were the days.

I asked DEEPSEEK to explain why April 13 2025 was warmer than April 13 1850.

On April 13, 2025, the Earth will be 1.0039 AU from the Sun, which is 0.0020 AU (300,000 km) closer than the 1.0059 AU distance on the same date in 1850. This decreased distance increases solar irradiance by 0.4% due to the inverse-square law. Combined with solar activity changes, the total solar irradiance (TSI) will be:

        2025: 1361.5 W/m² (raw)

        1850: 1360.5 W/m² (reconstructed)

        After distance adjustment:

        2025 TSI: 1361.5 W/m² × (1.0059/1.0039)² = 1365.9 W/m²

        1850 TSI: 1360.5 W/m²

The net difference shows 5.4 W/m² greater irradiance in 2025 when properly accounting for both the closer distance and increased solar activity.

As you can see, the main reason the precession of the orbit with a small contribution from TSI.

In fact, since early January 2025, every day of the year has had more intense sunlight than 1850. It is now close to the maximum difference for this year and will be less some time in July and for the rest of the year. So hotter boreal summer and more snowfall during the boreal fall and winter.

Climate donors accused of using slave labour

The Labor-linked Smart Energy Council, which counts Simon Holmes a Court as a senior adviser, has been receiving thousands of dollars from solar and battery firms black-listed in the US over concerns they use slave labour.

A Labor-linked climate charity has been receiving thousands of dollars from clean-energy firms black-listed in the United States over concerns they use slave labour, with the green lobby group and its senior adviser, Simon Holmes a Court, having visited a Chinese company accused of forced labour practices.

The Smart Energy Council – which has charity status despite having donated to the ALP and run campaigns calling on voters to “bin” the Coalition – is responsible for the disputed claim that the opposition’s nuclear policy will cost $600bn.

That $600bn figure has been weaponised by Anthony Albanese throughout the election campaign, as the Prime Minister alleges the charity’s calculations are proof the Liberal nuclear policy will lead to cuts in other government areas.

The Australian can reveal a number of the SEC’s sponsors and 2025 conference exhibitors – including major solar panel manufacturer Jinko Solar – have been embroiled in allegations over forced labour and “the oppression of minority groups” including Uighurs in China’s Xinjiang region.

SEC members including Mr Holmes a Court – an adviser and former board member of the charity – appear in photos posted by Jinko in 2019 capturing a visit by an Australian delegation “led by the SEC” to one of its factories in Shangrao.

Mr Holmes a Court was contacted for comment.

I can remember when an accusation of being linked to slavery was enough to end your career, your social acceptance and thus leading to a diminished list of friends who would take your call.

Anyone supporting slavery was a pariah. An outcast, someone to be sneered at. Well, apparently that can all be white washed if the slavery is for your own good or the good of the solar gods.

I hope that Holmes a Court offers a response. Although I sense that he’ll decide that the population, (the electorate), just isn’t ‘teal’ enough to hear his words?

Biden banned drilling in the Gulf of Mexico.

There is no such ban on drilling in the Gulf of America.

It must be wonderful to have a pro-energy leader.

In Australia the Government (all Uniparty factions) mostly want our energy reserves left in the ground.

      David, you have great posts.

Our political have their own “constitutions” and these are the ones they operate under.
This is the one they use.
      NOT The Australian Constitution.
If they do not like ours they just change it to suit their purposes.
      Like Gough did in 1972/73.
The people were NEVER asked about the changes, you know, like in a referendum.
Heaven forbid, why would they do that when they have their own to follow?
      And Australia as a republic?
ALL behind our backs with the consent of The King.
ALL hidden from WE THE PEOPLE.
      Dictatorship anyone?

I now have a bucket of coal.

I wanted some just because I’m pro-energy and anti-woke. I might make a little display of it in an old fish tank or something.

It’s not something you can just buy, at lease in quantities less than hundreds of tonnes.

And in Victoriastan there are no natural outcrops on public land thst I’m aware of.

So a friend of a friend of a friend who volunteers on an historic steam engine which uses coal got me a bucket of it.

Frankly, I’m surprised that the Victoristan Government hasn’t banned that historic steam engine or others. They are Luddites after all, like all Leftists.

My 1887 Victorian Terrace had no plumbing. But it had many coal burning fire grates. And lead piping inside all the walls meant gas lighting in most rooms. The gas came from coal at Port Melbourne. And the coal came by ship from Newcastle. The Victorian world ran on coal and coal gas. Now coal and natural gas and coal gas and even burning sticks are illegal in the greatest hoax the world has ever seen.

Today we are back in the 17th century. With solar to light the houses and streets at night and winter. And completely random wind for everything else.

And their success at controlling the weather is absolutely zero. Despite having a Federal Minister for Climate Change and Energy.

That’s a Freudian slip? Where is our Climate Change?

Shouldn’t Chris Bowen be the Minister Against Climate Change? Or is it actually all about money and power?

And who changed the Australian Constitution to create this new Federal Ministry? Isn’t energy an exclusive State right based on exclusive and explicit State control of minerals, especially Coal and Gas?

But, but, but we all know climate change IS real. Why just last night on the news I saw the ‘musicians for climate action” protesting because climate change had meant that a few music concerts had to be cancelled through inclement weather. We all know that planning an outdoor event, at least a year in advance, is an EXACT science, so all of a sudden, in the middle of summer or winter, when the weather turns nasty it has to be climate change no other options available. This can be supported by simply asking any bride who planned an outdoor wedding and things went to s_ _ t.

Coal is available on public land. Brown coal outcrops in numerous places across VicDanistan, just look alongside the road cuttings in areas where the coal has been found it was found in very shallow deposits, even as surface outcrops, (although this was weathered).

It can’t be the GST vs VAT. They tax a lot higher over there.

Maybe it’s the Australia tax kicking in, (in reverse?). It works like this. You see something overseas for $10, you then see the same item in Oz for $200. The retailer won’t budge because he knows it’s illegal for you to import that item from overseas due to some obscure legislation that you’ll only find out about after the goods have been confiscated at customs. And besides, who’d want to offer a price competitive product here when you can rip off your customers?

TimTams are probably costly because in Oz, we just ‘have’ to pay. That’s the way it works. Sometimes you just have to pay, it’s for your own good.

Tim/Tam you say? Must be Climate Breakdown! Or Crisis™️ plus a little (in)Justice!

Cyclone (Tim?) Tam, the terror of the southwest Pacific, currently Cat 1, is still far to our north yet its effects are causing chaos on roads as commuters (users?) lose the plot due to a little wind & rain: listening to the radio this morning was like a live broadcast of Grand Theft Auto or Return Of The Zombies!

Accidents, breakdowns, lanes closed, motorways jammed (with broken heroes on their last chance power drive) and yet TC Tam is still up by New Caledonia, a long way from our shaky shores. Expected to be downgraded to an ex-TC tonight, the fun has only begun as Tim/Tam parks itself in the Tasman Sea for Easter:

      https://www.met.gov.fj/

And how’s TC Errol off northern WA, still making up its mind if it goes this way or that way? Carbon (sic) now causes confusion too?

Just another data point. In my local woolworths the tim tam price fluctuates between $3 and $6 depending on whether the item is on “special”. I have two $3 packets in my fridge as I type.

Shoppers seem to suffer similar inexplicable pricing on most items. Perhaps it is time for another inquiry so woolworths can explain that it is all the fault of manufacturers and growers.

So many variables in the mix its probably not realistic to try and make sense of it. Coles price today for a packet of Tim Tams is $3.

Many seem to think they are being ripped orf by the majors yet most still patronise them.

I just saw a Labor Party add viciously attacking Dutton and complaining that he won’t be giving as much “free stuff” as Labor.

So the election outcome is basically down to a competition about which party will be giving the most free stuff.

Politicians and Joe and Joanne Sixpack just don’t have a clue.

Oh, and it may please you to know that Australian total government debt, federal, state and local, is over $2 trillion.

    http://australiandebtclock.com.au/

Imagine how much higher it will be after another 3 years of Liebor who are offering even more free stuff than the Lieberals.

I also think that the massive spending by Uniparty politicians is due to their innumeracy. I mean, how many could even write one billion, let alone one trillion in numerals or have any clue about how much money it is that they’re spending?

And you see it reflected all the time in the massive overpricing of just about anything on Government contract from pencils to hydroelectric storage like Snowy Hydro 2 (and especially on any Victoriastan Government project).

The other reasons of course, is that Uniparty politicians are clueless and also simply don’t care.

I can recall a day, (long time back now), where I found out the purchase price for a ream of photocopy paper in the local council offices. The going rate, (back in the 90’s), was around $2 a ream in the local shops. The purchase price, paid for by the local council, was over $12 for the very same item.

It could be a good metric just to know what every government agency is now paying for a ream of paper in their office. A very simple statement and something that anyone with a brain could compare to an on line or bricks and mortar retailer.

It’s not just the offer or more and more free stuff that’s sending this place to the dogs, it’s the long term supply contracts where the profit flows to people who are just ripping us off. And you know, no one in that government office gives a toss. It’s not like it’s REAL money.

I am almost convinced that the liberal party don’t want to win this election. Their adds are so pathetically weak, and yet labour have given them so much to choose from yet nothing is hard hitting.
Why aren’t the ads screaming electricity price increase, not just minor conversation points.
The fuel excise reduction MUST reduce the cost of living and it’s a measurable thing. Every good in Australia is affected by fuel costs, is this being hammered day and night, nah can’t do that, it’s just not cricket.
Once again I will be voting for someone else that best represents my interests and the best interests of the country. Libs will probably be number 4. The other two, well, depends on how long the ballots are, but last and second last is a certainty.

It would be a good election for the LNP to lose. I have the opinion there needs to be a starker difference between the USA and Australia before reality sinks in. USD to buy two AUD. There needs to be regular load shedding in NEM. The Climate Scam has to be clearly in the rear view in the USA and perpetrators fully defunded.

Trump’s first term really only put USA behind the rest of the woke world in the race to the bottom. This time he appears to be on course to change direction. Others will have to follow or endure never ending recession.

David, have you quantified it? How much higher will the debt be under Liebor et al? And how much higher will the debt be under the LNP coalition?

Treasury used to pretend to do an analysis of policies. Is the pretense ongoing?

Talking of political advertising I don’t watch free to air television but I did see my first political ad campaign for this election cycle the other night while watching reruns of Allo Allo on Nine Now. So much pretending. It made the program look reasonable rather than farcical.

Interesting to me is that the corflute signs which have popped up in my corner of the world all seem to be promoting local candidates except for the greens who are promising a brave new world or something along those lines.

Before the election date was announced there was a small group near the voting centre in town who were keen to discuss an alternative way forward. They seem to have disappeared now.

      Sorry to digress.

How much is total Australian Government debt, federal, state and local as expressed in a pile of $100 notes stacked on top of each other and laid horizontally?

Thickness of an Australian $100 note is 0.1408mm.

    $1 billion would be 1,408,000mm or 1,408m or 1.408km

$2 trillion would be a pile of $100 notes 2,816km thick.

That’s about the distance from Adelaide to Perth which is 2,607km.

Assuming there was even a desire to repay it, it will mean massive confiscations of private property and multi-generational debt.

Or more likely it will be all too hard and the Uniparty politicians will just hand the whole country over to the Chicomms.

You should have left them vertically stacked and we could all have worked out the pressure exerted on the ones at the base as the column rose.

At some point the pressure would exceed the compressive strength of the material and the stack would fail due to shearing of the material. The dollars being made into a worthless pile of remodeled sludge with the odd reflective glint flickering in the sun.

I’ve already assumed that the mass has exceeded the ability of the taxpayer to pay it back. That moment passed some years ago. Just like the ability of our industry to build a table strong enough to hold it up.

    https://youtu.be/DZ9WZbdf9vY

It’s quite fascinating and a very well told story of how the wife of a US soldier on deployment divorced him via email. This led to him discovering that his wife had been manipulated by a conman into being in a relationship with the conman and then trying to sell the house for the benefit of the conman.

This led to police and FBI involvement discovering a whole network of similiar scams and family tragedy.

It’s too involved to describe here, you’ll have to watch it. It was surprisingly interesting.

A fabulous Presidential order with the force of Law in the US, worth repeating.

“The new executive order, “DIRECTING THE REPEAL OF UNLAWFUL REGULATIONS” (April 9, 2025), can and should be used to terminate straightaway the EPA’s endangerment finding (EF) for greenhouse gases, along with the more than 100 other regulations that attempt to solve a non-existent climate crisis.”

In the US, all these Climate Change carbon ripoff schemes are now UNLAWFUL., fraudulent., illegal.

And we have a Minister for Climate Change and Energy. Plus many, many laws, penalties, credits, all based on what the US government say is “a non-existent Climate Crisis”.

It is laughable that we still have a Minister for Climate Change. Who is also a Federal Minister for Energy. And they are the same department?

The only countries in the world which believe this fantasy are in the EU, Canada, Australia, New Zealand. 400 million people. So 5% of the world’s population. And half of those think it is a fraud. So 2.5% of the planet believes this nonsense.

There is a time coming soon where having a Minister for Climate Change will be like having a Federal Minister for Nirvana.

And when I challenged former Prime Minster John Howard on these punitive carbon laws, which he started, he said he was “Climate Change Agnostic”.

Shouldn’t you have to have proof of something before you punish all Australians? It’s been 25 years of punishment.

Like Sir Paul Nurse’s debate with journalist James Delingpole, and cited the ‘precautionary principle’ that if you think someone has cancer but have no proof, you treat them for cancer anyway. This would have him struck off! The treatment is marginally less deadly than the disease. And breaks the Hippocratic oath of ‘do no wrong’. But he was a PhD in Genetics, not a physical scientist, despite being head of the Royal Society which as far back as 1958 published an article completely debunking the whole CO2 builds up story. The literature since has over 36 papers (Table 1) which show that CO2 goes straight into the water.

The extraordinary scores of damaging Climate Change Laws at State and Federal levels since 2000 have shattered our country, our livelihoods, our wealth and our manufacturing and our lives. And the man who started it says openly that he is not sure it’s true?

Stop the insanity. The United States claims all our Carbon laws are illegal. And we are not listening. In Australia, man made CO2 driven Climate Change is Law. And these laws directly and illegally enrich third parties, something banned since Magna Carta. Repeal these monstrosities and prosecute the people behind them.

The wording of “climate crisis” is smarter than using the term “climate change” because the latter has always existed and will exist until Earth doesn’t.

After 45 years of claiming Earth is in imminent danger of being unlivable makes the case that there is no crisis. A crisis, by definition, is an unstable situation with imminent danger.

The next phase of Earth’s climate cycle will be glaciation north of 40N. The changes observed since 1850 are the progression toward that state, driven solely by Earth’s orbital precession. If science had not been corrupted by the Climate Scammers, this information would be common knowledge.

It will be generations before the story of glaciation is told from experience but it is bound to happen. Climate reconstructions are the certain proof.

    Save the Golden Eagles!

Two new studies imply the Golden Eagle cannot survive more wind turbines
    By David Wojick
    https://www.cfact.org/2025/04/15/two-new-studies-imply-the-golden-eagle-cannot-survive-more-wind-turbines/

    The beginning:
“The Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act specifically says that the Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) cannot issue more “take” (that is kill) permits than the population can survive. Two new studies together imply that the golden eagle wind-kill taking is at that limit or beyond.

Clearly FWS must stop issuing new wind turbine take permits until it rigorously assesses this situation. No new wind turbines should be erected. Some presently in operation may have to shut down. Fortunately, new eagle kill permits are presently on hold under the President’s Executive Order, but we are also talking about the law.

The primary area of concern is the western range of the Golden Eagle. This runs from Montana, Idaho, and Washington down to the Mexico border. Note that the eagles often migrate north to spend the summer in Canada, so the more northern states see a lot more than their local winter populations.

However, the entire US population is only about 30,000 eagles, down from an estimated 80,000 in 1980, and they are found everywhere. Thus the entire country might be in need of care.”

Lots more in the article. Please share it.

So, the West just ignore Russia’s protests about NATO stationing missiles closer and closer to Russia… but when Russia wants to station aircraft in Indonesia, oh, wail wail.. its terrible, its outrageous..

“Matthew Sussex, an expert in Russian strategic policy at the Australian National University, said the prospect of Russian long-range aircraft being based in Indonesia would cause anxiety within the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.”

    and this guy-

“an expert on Indonesian politics at the Australian National University, said it would be “very unusual” for Indonesia to agree to such a request given its historical commitment to non-alignment,”

must have missed the memo telling him-

    FWIW – another “medical triumph”

    In today’s Coffee and Covid

“It has been 25 years since the ADHD industry took off like a SpaceX Dragon rocket with an all-male crew. The now-common diagnosis and its even more common drug treatment enjoyed no bigger cheerleader and ardent defender than the New York Times itself. But after twenty-five years of federally subsidized pediatric speed, an eye-watering 23% of boys —nearly 1 in 4— are now taking Ritalin or Adderall for the “condition.”

    They’ve cured nothing.”

    And for a mention

“Where does this leave us? First, I’ll direct your attention to the Times’ medical exposé from January: the horrifying admission that for the same quarter-century, we’ve also been thinking about Alzheimer’s all wrong.”

    Why?

“Now, three months after the Times’ brutal takedown of Alzheimer’s research, the paper turns its attention to another scientific scandal, ADHD. But why now?

I’ll propose to you it is because they know what’s coming. Trump’s new health secretary Robert Kennedy is refocusing the public health agencies on these boring chronic conditions instead of on boutique, career-making, subsaharan diseases like monkeypox that nobody except a handful of patients gives a rat’s furry toucas about.

Kennedy has also promised to make the agencies’ internal studies public. Disclosure”

And covid and “the jabs” also get a mention
