Busselton jetty is the longest wooden piled jetty in the Southern Hemisphere, at 1841 metres or 1.14 Miles in length, used to load ships with timber from the South West of Western Australia from 1865 till 1971 when the last ship called there, and since then it has slowly developed into what is now a huge tourist attraction.

There is a solar powered train that can take you out to the end of the jetty, a 20 minute ride. At the end there is an underwater Observatory, one of only six on the Planet, and eight metres below the surface is an observation room with 11 windows, and it can give up to 44 people a wonderful view of fish and the coral of an artificial reef, an astonishing place to visit, not just the observatory, but the whole jetty precinct really.

Outside the gift shop and interpretive centre is a sign on the entrance wall, and I had to wait a while till I had a clear view of it to take an image.

Here’s the link below to that image and when it opens up, click on the image again, and it will open at a much larger size.

At the right of the screen you’ll see a scrolling bar, and you can navigate up and down the length of the jetty, with the start of the jetty at the bottom of screen.

The day before this visit, I visited the lighthouse at Cape Leeuwin.

In and around the South West of this State of WA are some of Australia’s wonders really, and everywhere I visited was an experience which will live with me now for a very long time.

    Link to Busselton Jetty Image.

A “selfie direction dial” at the end?

Originally there were two jetties, with the existing rail jetty joining the main promenade jetty further out – that’s why there is a bend in the jetty. But cyclone Alby, sweeping down the WA coast in April 1978, destroyed the first 700 metres of the main jetty, cutting it in three places. So it was decided to completely remove the main jetty and only retain the rail jetty. The same cyclone also destroyed the jetty at Rockingham, closer to Perth.
The last time I swam off the main jetty, mate filled his bathers with bluebottle jellyfish when he jumped in, requiring a trip to the local hospital.

      Tony,
At $50 PP to go on the jetty (and limited time due to bus) we passed on it . I have been on a lot of jetties but never paid for the privilege before…

It’s not the jetty itself per se, but the wonderful experience of the underwater observatory at the end.

Read about it at my latest Post. (that’s umm, pretty shameless, Tony) With 14 images.

        The Visit To Busselton Jetty

Even including my guess as to what the selfie direction dial is, right at the very end.

On the day of my visit, they set up a large tent between the Observatory and the end of the pier, and as we got off the train, the next ‘crowd’ got onto the train for a function inside that tent.

The extent and impact of vaccine status miscategorisation on covid-19 vaccine efficacy studies

It is recognised that many observational studies and randomised control trials reporting high efficacy for Covid-19 vaccines suffer from various biases. Systematic review identified thirty-seven studies that suffered from one particular and serious form of bias called miscategorisation bias, whereby study participants who have been vaccinated are categorised as unvaccinated up to and until some arbitrarily defined time after vaccination occurred. Simulation demonstrates that this miscategorisation bias artificially boosts vaccine efficacy and infection rates even when a vaccine has zero or negative efficacy. Furthermore, simulation demonstrates that repeated boosters, given every few months, are needed to maintain this misleading impression of efficacy. Given this, any claims of Covid-19 vaccine efficacy based on these studies are likely to be a statistical illusion or are exaggerated.

If the ‘Virus Crisis’ Jabs were so good then why were so many Boosters needed?

How many other proper vaccines needed boosters?

      I can’t think of any.

I meant to say – ‘How many vaccines needed a booster’ and not ‘other proper’……………..

The idea of a booster dose is totally normal. A lot of vaccines only generate temporary immunity. Our immune system is pretty good at knowing whether a threat is real or not, and by definition, a vaccine is supposed to not be a real threat, hence our immune system often can’t be bothered generating a big response.

Many vaccines in the normal series are multiple doses. DTP. Hepatitis B. Meningococcal ACWY. Pneumococcal. RSV. MMR. Haemophilus influenza. Polio.

I’m not endorsing the childhood program, just saying boosters are common.

Sorry. I didn’t see John Connor II had already answered this.

Not trying to defend the wu-flu jab (which I never got).
I guess it depends on the definition of booster, but the Hepatitis A and B vaccine is a multi-part affair for (reportedly) 20-ish years immunity. I had this 10-15 years ago before travelling to less pleasant countries. I am not sure if it has changed since.
A Japanese Encephalitis vaccine is only good for about 12 months or so, before a booster is needed. I can’t report on its efficacy though.
Tetanus boosters are handed out pretty frequently to those with injuries – do they need to be… I can’t say, but it is not a disease I’d want, so jab away.

“but it is not a disease I’d want, so jab away.”

The first jab affects the brain to develop compliance and support, so the boosters can be administered without argument.

That’s what I’d do as a vaccine manufacturer, so I’m sure they do too! The Covid fiasco has certainly developed my sense of cynicism for any Govt vaccine, I’d be a lot more “do they need to be” before I took any these days.

Are we making whole populations that cannot live without medical interventions all the time, an industry making trillions from keeping people alive who will die immediately the industry collapses? ..or will they find out all the pills they took each day were not necessary and they’re still alive a decade later?

Re “industries collapsing”, what would happen to statins if a cheap, natural fix for Heart Disease were to be discovered?
Why is it so hard to get definitive answers to questions like:

Does Olive Oil help or not?
Is vitamin K2 useful or not?

I believe there was a study on rats that showed some promise for vitamin K2?
I’m not endorsing it … but I thought at the time there was enough there to make it a candidate for a study on humans.

But Statin Manufacturing is a money spinner for Big Pharma and their ‘co-conspirators’ the doctors — “Here’s your script for a statin everyday!” , “Duh, thanks Doc!… and thank Big Pharma for me, next time you get a freebie holiday to their ‘conference’ ” — that they won’t want a natural remedy to appear. The incentive is not to look for one.

In 1950s N.Z. a child got a polio vaccine, and one for tetanus.

Polio might have been two shots, and that was it for life.

I’ve had one tetanus booster in the last 40 years ; probably didn’t need it.

So that is what used to be normal.

I scratch my head at the current normal list of vaccine multiple doses plus boosters.

          What happened?

      Miscategorisation- A mystery Resolved?

Going back a few years now, The Australian States were publishing weekly statistics of Covid Hospitalisations, ICU Admissions and Deaths by Vaccination Status. The motivations seems to have been to encourage people to take the Covid vaccines.

Victoria dropped out earlier when the stats were’nt very favourable but NSW kept on until Dec 2022, issuing their last report on 31 Dec 2022.
      https://covidlive.com.au/report/vaccination-status/nsw

The numbers clearly suggested that more doses of Covid Vacc were associated with increased rates of hospitalisation, ICU admission and Death but were not corrected for the numbers in each group.

The mystery was the No Dose group, which had no admissions and No ICU but 6 deaths. How did that happen? Did they die suddenly at home? Did they die of Covid?
It now seems to me that those deaths were the result of miscategorisation. They had a dose of Covid Vacc but died soon after. People were not counted as vaccinated until 2 weeks after they had the jab!

I suffered for about 18 months with a frozen shoulder and I have met many people who have been similarly afflicted with this very painful condition. It is generally the left arm (their non dominant side) the side you usually get jabbed in. I thought, is it because of the Covid jabs? I did a search and found this https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC8930777/ How many people have been impacted and not made the connection or is it just coincidence? My shoulder took about 18 months to reach about 95% of its previous normal state.

On the 26th July 2021 a 38-year old woman called Adriana Takara died. Her death should not have happened.

No person under 40 without comorbidities had died in Australia from COVID-19. All of a sudden, a 38 year old healthy woman dies “of COVID-19” at the same time – coincidentally – that the vaccination campaign in NSW, Australia’s most populous state – had stalled.

Remember the death of Adriana Takara

Her friends relayed that she was successful and managed to get a dose of Pfizer vaccine. So she did what nobody should do, which is to get vaccinated with an mRNA vaccine during an active exposure to COVID from her fully-vaccinated housemate. At some point during 2021 NSW health updated their information sheet to tell people not to do this, but it was too late for Adriana.

NSW doesn’t seem to currently warn against getting vaccinated in proximity to an infection with Covid. They just say it’s unnecessary as the benefit of the vaccine won’t be utilised due to the infection having achieved similar naturally.

It’s entirely likely that NSW Health said don’t get vaccinated while infected simply because they didn’t want infected people out and about trying to get vaccinated with people who hadn’t been, as the vaccine was being rolled out then. Likely not because of any risk of the two events together.
There is some thought that a combo of vaccination and infection can have the individual feeling worse than either event on its own.

“you tell them what they want to hear and when you get power, you do what you like” Greens leader Adam Bandt.

The Australian. Adam Bandt will issue an election ransom note to Anthony Albanese demanding capital gains and negative gearing tax breaks be axed and that a blanket freeze on rent increases be imposed in return for the Greens’ support in a hung parliament.

Amazing. What’s next? Death taxes? He is breaking his own rule and possibly dooming the minority government. None of this is even pretend Green as in environmental. Nor is their anti Semitism.

The chance of Dutton winning just improved dramatically with Leninist Greens leader Bandt now making is demands, why is the question? What have tax breaks to do with Green policy? Communist policy yes, not Green. It’s a shotgun blast to both feet.

The bien pensant members of the planet saving Greens have investments. Workers and their children are middle class with apartments, capital gains on their own homes (Doctors)(children of doctors), public servants, CFMEU/ETU and would be terrified of capital gains tax, death duties, negative gearing removal, a freeze on rents. And this also would terrify the upper middle class Teals who 90% of the time vote with the Greens.

Now Albanese has a real problem. I cannot understand Bandt’s tactic and expect he will go into denial.

What are people’s general opinion here of Trump and Elon? Whenever I look at the situation playing out today with Trump and Elon, I can’t help but be reminded of Albert Pike’s comment (the most famous Freemason who ever lived) when he said: “Whenever people need a hero, we shall supply him”.

I think he has surrounded himself with heroes, people who don’t need the job and sacrifice a great deal. Elon Musk’s sacrifice is measured in hundreds of billions. RFK. J.D.Vance. Many more who are passionate about fixing the problems like Tulsi Gabbard who realised her party was the problem in endless war. Elon lost his son Xavier forever to the Transgender cult. As RFK said of he Democrats, I didn’t leave them, they left me. He is finally able to do more than talk about child health.

And all understand business and organizations and money. They are not do nothing back benchers like geriatric puppet Biden who accumulated vast wealth on $140k a year. That needs explanation. And Pelosi and the rest. Ambitious people who go into politics to get rich. Exactly what the country does not need. I hope DOGE chases down how the enriched themselves. For Biden and his family, even his grandaughter received unsolicited money from China. And Hunter was on a million a year directors fee from Ukraine, despite never having been there.

But if anyone hated Trump, it was the same RINO clique in the Republicans, like McConnell and Ryan. They had sold the Republican party down the river.

HOOBOY! Chuck Schumer Tries Talking Trash at Elon Musk In HEATED Back and Forth and GUESS How THAT Goes

Chuck Schumer is big mad at Trump and Elon Musk. Oh, and he’s cranky with Republicans as well because they’re supporting the president in taking the actions Americans who voted for him expect. We get it; Schumer is a Democrat and used to presidents making promises to get elected and breaking them, but still.

Keep in mind the tariffs aren’t even a week old yet

And Congressional Republicans are going along with it all so they can cut taxes for billionaires

Notice how millionaires like Chuck started vilifying billionaires. Guess it’s hard not to look like a hypocrite attacking millionaires when you yourself are one.

          Like Chuck.

          Convenient, ain’t it.

And speaking of billionaires, Elon Musk chimed in:

          Elon Musk@elonmusk

Chuck, I’m starting to think you’re getting a piece of the action with the government fraud. But no, that couldn’t possibly be the reason, could it? 🤔 …

          Quote
          Chuck Schumer@SenSchumer

Trump has unleashed chaos on America

—His tariffs hit families with largest tax hike in more than 50 years
—DOGE is sabotaging Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid
—The market is having its worst 3 days since COVID

And Congressional Republicans are going along with it all so
          Show more

Or, and hear us out, Chuck, many bureaucrats have gotten very, very, very wealthy as public servants, and the more we learn about what you all do with our tax dollars, the more likely it is that there is fraud. The fact so many elected officials are fighting Musk and DOGE on cutting waste is not a good look.

My first thought was to see if you had raised the spacing issue. Quite correct – they are spaced far too close together, with the result that one battery section going up easily takes out other sections. After the last effort, I didn’t think any future installations would be built near population centres, but I believe that many of the latest Australian proposals would be situated either in or nearby populated areas. Not good.

Adam Bandt wouldn’t be a true climate crusader unless he travelled by private jet and used other energy intensive transportation.

This article is from last year and relates to the previous federal election.

I wonder what private jet flights he’ll be utilising for this election?

How Greens leader Adam Bandt spent thousands on private jet flights while lecturing you about climate change

Greens leader Adam Bandt has come under fire for racking up an expenses bill of almost $1million a year, including hundreds of thousands on printing and two private jet flights.

The anti-fossil fuel campaigner also claimed $12,000 on a taxpayer-provided vehicle and petrol allowance plus $29,000 on government COMCAR trips and taxis, according to figures from the Department of Finance.

Despite his party’s core policy of cutting C02 emissions Mr Bandt used two private jets during the 2022 election campaign, landing tax payers with the $23,000 bill.

One flight was between Queensland regional centres Townsville and Rockhampton on March 7.

However, he also took a a $15,000 private plane along the well-travelled Brisbane to Canberra route to attend his party’s election campaign launch.

During the year Mr Bandt also spent $57,000 for domestic flights on himself and an eye-watering $372,000 in travel expenses for his 21 staff.

The $963,166 in expenses racked up by Mr Bandt are on top of his $314,000 salary and do not include the wages of his personal staff.

When I met Dr Bandt (PhD on communism on the Melbourne Wharves) he was trying to start his political career on the Melbourne City Council. He lost.

And what he said was standard communist cant. Nothing about conservation. He had no such ideas.

But then he discovered the Greens and snaked his way to the top. What you are pointing out is that he is not a conservationist or ecologist but a self serving lifelong communist whose hero is the mass murderer Lenin. He fits perfectly into the Greens which were taken over by the communists in the 1990s after the fall of Russia.

What I find extremely odd is that sensitive caring passionate ecologists have a policy for the destruction of jews and Israel and support mass murder on Oct 7. This alone should have most caring Australians walk out the door. When was brutal mass rape and murder and infanticide eco friendly? How can people vote for this?

Why? Why is it always the case that as soon as people get into power, they renege on their beliefs and promises? Check out the comments in his most recent post on Twitter. A lot of angry folk.

Are you saying that RFK is against the measles vaccine? I dispute that he has ever said that. Vaccines have been around for a very long time and the ones with staying power are very effective. The new fancy mRNA ones are dicey, and in fact the rushed anti -Covid batches were sadly dirty or ineffective or both. RFK does not oppose ALL vaccines., just poorly tested ones.

He warned against them a lot in videos and articles, I think is better put. For instance, in a Fox News interview with Sean Hannity, he claimed that the MMR vaccine “causes deaths every year” and “causes all the illnesses that measles itself causes, [like] encephalitis and blindness”. The increase in autism since the 80s has also been dramatic, something like 1000s of a % increase, which some scientists have linked to the MMR vaccine. Below is a good documentary on vaccines, mainly the MMR vaccine, and its connetcion to autism.

          >(RFK Jr)has now done a complete 180… He warned against them a lot

Opinions can change, grow, refine, and develop.
We’re not bound by unchanging religious dogma.
Science is based on provisional knowledge that is always subject to falsification, review, refinement, development and improvement.
If we were all bound forever by previous statements or beliefs then we’re forever committed to the theories of Santa Claus, Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy.

          RFK Jr November last year:
“I’m not going to take away anybody’s vaccines. I’ve never been anti-vaccine.”

“If vaccines are working for somebody, I’m not going to take them away.”

Kennedy went on to say that “people ought to have choice and ought to be informed by the best information, so I’m going to make sure that scientific safety studies and efficacies are out there and people can make individual assessments about whether that product is going to be good for them.”

Of course, opinions can change, but he doesn’t seem very critical of the MMR vaccines anymore like he used to be. He published a book called “The Measles Book: Thirty-Five Secrets the Government and the Media Aren’t Telling You about Measles and the Measles Vaccine”, and presents a very critical view of measles and the measles vaccine.

He states in an article on the book:

Parents are simply not informed of the “real deal” with measles vaccines. The information in The Measles Book may come as a shock to many who previously trusted the “public health experts.”

Why have the benefits of the measles vaccine been exaggerated and the risks understated? Because these vaccines are a cash cow for an industry that long ago left behind the legacy of true public health pioneers like Dr. Jonas Salk. Big Pharma has devolved into nothing more than a government-enabled cartel. CHD informs the reader that measles vaccines carry risks—but only for the vaccinee and his or her family. Big Pharma is free of virtually all legal liability for damages from the vaccines’ harms.

The Measles Book enlightens the reader that mainstream media, Pharma-led, is complicit in protecting Big Pharma and aiding and abetting its fear mongering and racketeering. True investigative journalists should have long ago exposed the facts that CHD is making manifest: Measles outbreaks have been fabricated to create fear that in turn forces government officials to “do something.” They then inflict unnecessary and risky vaccines on millions of children for the sole purpose of fattening industry profits. When a child is injured—and many are, but most injuries are not reported—the government and Pharma walk away, denying responsibility and liability for damages. If the child is one of the rare few to obtain compensation from the government for his or her injuries, the reader will be shocked to learn that taxpayers, not Pharma, foot the bill.

Something very weird is going on. People are mystified by this statement below, wondering if he has been cloned or taken hostage:

“The most effective way to prevent the spread of measles is the MMR vaccine.”

Technically, what he says here is true (because measles is incredibly contagious) but what’s unsaid (and is baffling) is that preventing the spread may or may not be a goal worth attempting. Which he has talked passionately about many times before.

He has always said he would not stop anyone who wants a vaccine from getting one, he just wants to give them more information so they can have informed consent. Did he explain the pros and cons to the people of Texas somewhere else? Are people just getting excited about an out of context line? Is Kennedy just supporting the Texas request for vaccines to stop the spread which is possibly what the HHS is mandated to do, or something like that?

But he did not say: “Getting an MMR vaccine is better than getting measles.” He did not say “The MMR vaccine is safe”.

              Surely needs more explanation.

And China President Xi has no problem with 105% tariffs by the US.

    Great.

He was quick to put 200% tariffs on Australian lobsters, wine and to ban the import of Australian coal and seized our coal without paying.

Amazingly we sold the coal for much more to a hungry market and the Australian government has been trousering hundreds of billions while kow towing. But internationally not a single country cared if we were punished for asking for an investigation into the Wuhan Flu.

Good luck to Trump, the only would who could play Xi at his own game. Finally someone stood up to his extortion and recognized that he was behind the murdering of tens of millions of people with his virus from his Chinese Army Wuhan Viral institute. And who knows how many Chinese people died as well?

Martin Armstrong on the significance of the JFK assassination in relation to Trump, Russia, the Neocons and War

I remember the hatred of those days.
First… because he was Catholic. Then later, I remember people calling him a traitor for meeting with Khruschev.

It was only JFK’s secret private agreement with Krushchev in defiance of the Neocons that prevented a nuclear conflict with Russia over missiles in Cuba.

Then the CIA proposed on March 13th, 1962, to kill Americans to create a false flag to blame Cuba to justify an invasion. This was Operation Northwoods.

JFK concluded that these Neocons were deranged, evil, and had no problem killing people to create war. He wanted to terminate the CIA. The CIA was pulling off covert operations that were never authorized.

Established in 1961 by President John F. Kennedy to unite several foreign assistance organizations and programs under one agency, statute law places USAID under “the direct authority and policy guidance of the Secretary of State.”

The goal of this agency was to counter Soviet Union influence during the Cold War and to advance U.S. soft power through socioeconomic development. USAID was subsequently established by the executive order of President John F. Kennedy, who sought to unite several existing foreign assistance organizations and programs under one agency. Anyone dealing with Washington has always heard that this was a mega slush fund. It started with the CIA, but the Democrats used it to promote their Marxist agenda. Kruschev was right, our enemy would come from within.

Then, on June 10th, 1963, after the Cuban Missile Crisis, Kennedy made what has been called his Peace Speech. That seemed to have been the turning point when I would hear people talking, calling him a traitor. Then, about 5 months later, the Neocons assassinated JFK.

World War III is unfolding before our eyes because the Neocons have been protected since the JFK assassination!

Did Venezuela Invade America In Secret?

A leaked security briefing details the dangers of a transnational criminal cartel operating inside the USA.

The leaked security briefing (has) been provided to Trump national security officials in recent months regarding the criminal group Tren de Aragua and the Venezuela government.

President Trump designated Tren de Aragua as a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) on January 20th by Executive order because it’s “conducting irregular warfare and undertaking hostile actions” inside the United States.

    It’s not a street gang.
It’s the paramilitary wing of Venezuela’s narco-terrorist regime.
…Who runs the largest drug cartel in the world?
The top officials in the Venezuela regime.

In fact, Nicolas Maduro and 14 other Venezuela officials were charged with “narco-terrorism, corruption, and drug trafficking” by the DOJ in 2020.

America’s national security officials are being told, essentially, that Venezuela is at war with the United States — and that it’s time to understand the threat.

Retrospective: Ten Weapons That Changed History

There are ten major weapons, though, that through history have dealt major changes in land warfare. Here’s that list.

    1. Atlatl (spear-thrower):A woomera is an Australian Aboriginal wooden spear-throwing device. Similar to an atlatl, it serves as an extension of the human arm, enabling a spear to travel at a greater speed and force than possible with only the arm.
    2. Bow and arrow:
    3. Catapults:
    4. Gunpowder (cannon):
    5. Gunpowder (small arms):
    6. Repeating rifles/machine guns:
    7. Aircraft:
    8. Chemical weapons:
    9. Nuclear weapons:
    10. Biological weapons:

And then, there’s one more, a new system that may have wide-ranging potential as a weapon: Artificial intelligence.

      TODAY’s LAUGH (SA version)
The local paper today has a letter from (a non local) Greenie praising this battery pay out. “It will cut householder’s electricity bills while also cover the householder when there are times of low wind & solar” (i.e. winter?).
      Marvellous idea?

I calculate that the $4,000 rebate means (possibly) another $6,000 for a 10 kW battery or a $10,000 for a 15kW one; and also about $2,000 for an isolation switch in case of blackouts and which might cover an average household for no more than 1 day.

Any thoughts from those more interested?

      • #
        Graeme4

Over 3000 comments in The Australian recently on this subject. The majority overwhelmingly agreed that you wouldn’t generate any savings from adding a battery, as the likelihood of the battery failing about the same time as the payback period finished was very high.
Naturally it depends on usage, actual savings achieved, actual battery lifetime, etc.
Many commentators pointed out that a lot of folk couldn’t use solar or a battery, or couldn’t afford to purchase them, and thus were disadvantaged by this scheme. This included the not so well-off, thus the scheme could be seen as robbing the poor to enhance the rich.

Yes, anyone watching the Russian side of the propaganda war will know they have been capturing foreign mercs fighting for Ukraine since the war began, and have captured active German Army personnel too.

As for the ‘Chinese’ and “North Korean’ mercs, the last one turned out to be a Russian from the Far Eastern border area.

“a British source from 2023 just before the big offensive:
As a former tank commander, I can say one thing for certain: Putin’s demoralised conscripts are utterly unprepared for the shock action now hitting their lines. Ukrainian armoured formations are beginning to meet Russian forces in battle, and they are going to pulverise Russia’s defensive lines.

I am confident for one simple reason: Ukraine will follow the Western ideology of manoeuvre warfare in a combined arms context, while the Russians will follow Soviet doctrine, relying on attrition and numbers. The Russians will find that the armour of Western tanks is far more resilient than flesh and bone, they will die in great numbers, and they will lose.”

How much would (will) it cost to make an iPhone in America?

In the $30,000 to $100,000 range… and no this is not a typo.

In fact, if Apple were forced to solely manufacture the iPhone in America, there is a good argument that it would not be able to manufacture any at all. And if they could somehow successfully make the manufacturing transition, capacity would likely be constrained to a just a few million units a year.
