There is now considerable comment as to the limitations of what Mr. Trump can do with Executive Orders, with an active resistance,

There are also vast unused powers in law; huge numbers of agency employees have broken one law or another over the past few years.
While most were instructed to do so by their superiors, that protects them against criminal liability but not civil responsibility,
so Mr. Trump can fire large numbers. He likely won’t have to as there are gentler ways to destaff, but he need no tolerate folks

Years ago when Biden visited China he noticed a phone on Xi Jinping’s desk marked The Devil. Xi confirmed it was a direct line to the devil and said Joe could give him a call if he wanted. Joe pulled out his wallet and offered $20 to Xi who, confused, asked what it was for. Joe explained that when he or his democrat party called the devil it cost them $20. Xi smiled and replied “But in China it is a local call”.
It is an interesting question because Elon is now viewed as the global champion of free speech.
It is now clearly evident that X would be undertaking unconstitutional activities if it was accepting orders from any government agency or private group, US or anywhere, to silence/limit free speech.
If Elon is a true crusader of free speech then his choice would be to remove the platform from any region that wants to use it to limit free speech.

In a statement, Peters expressed concerns that the inquiry would not hold the Australian government accountable for its decisions and actions during the pandemic.
Specifically, Peters criticized the inquiry’s focus on “blame-shifting” and “finger-pointing” rather than conducting a thorough examination of the Australian government’s response to the pandemic. He also warned Canberra against taking further steps to make it easier to deport New Zealand-born criminals, which he believes would be a “politically motivated” move.
Peters’ comments come as New Zealand prepares to launch its own pandemic royal commission, which he believes will ask tough questions about Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern’s government’s approach to the pandemic. The commission is expected to scrutinize the government’s decisions and actions, including its border control measures, lockdowns, and vaccination policies.
Context
The Australian government’s COVID inquiry was announced in response to public criticism of its handling of the pandemic, including accusations of slow vaccine rollout, inadequate contact tracing, and poor communication with the public. The inquiry is expected to investigate the government’s decisions and actions from March 2020 to December 2021.
In contrast, New Zealand’s pandemic royal commission is seen as a more comprehensive and independent investigation, with a broader scope and a focus on learning from the pandemic experience to improve the country’s preparedness for future public health crises.
Key Quotes
“A whitewash is what this inquiry will be if it doesn’t ask the hard questions and hold the government accountable.” – Winston Peters, New Zealand Foreign Minister
“Our royal commission will be a thorough and independent inquiry that will get to the bottom of what went wrong and how we can improve our response to future pandemics.” – Jacinda Ardern, New Zealand Prime Minister
“And I’m out to make sure it doesn’t happen in my country … We are going to get to the truth.”
Ardern established a royal commission into the pandemic in 2022 that has since been expanded and extended under Prime Minister Christopher Luxon, who leads the conservative National Party.
As demanded by Peters, the royal commission will also examine use of vaccines and vaccine mandates, social and economic impacts of COVID policies and whether similar public health benefits could have been achieved with shorter lockdowns.
Peters said New Zealand’s tough response to COVID, while understandably strict at the beginning of the pandemic, became a “disaster” over time as “basic factual incongruities” were ignored in a bid to stamp out the virus.
Shutting schools for extended periods was a damaging decision, he said.
“Children were the least vulnerable [to the virus], and we knew that, but we shut the whole thing down,” he said.
“The cost to New Zealand is that we are still struggling to come out of that malaise. That is accentuated by our massive levels of truancy. If we hadn’t closed our primary schools, that would not have happened. But there’s an unwillingness to say we got it wrong.”
Have any unjabbed Aussies checked their own vaccine record? Is it really 95% (or did some clinics figure out they could just look on the local facebook group for people that did not want to jab, then put in that they have jabbed them and collect the cash)?

Or an even bigger horror of horrors. Perhaps a down slope rushing COP29 inmate might come up with the idea of a: c o m p r o m i s e. The global destroying carbon producers can have the night-time, and the greenies can have the day-time and together we get a half-decent future.

Of Harris voters, 5% say they will definitely relocate and 5% say they probably will. Another 44% would like to move but probably (27%) or definitely (17%) won’t. Of those who would like to move but are unlikely to, personal finances, family, and community ties are what will keep them in place.
Of those pondering or planning a move, 90% are considering moving to another country and 80% to another state. The top countries respondents are considering moving to are Canada (41%), the United Kingdom (19%), and Mexico (16%). Top states respondents are considering moving to are California (14%), New York (8%), and Colorado (8%).

“In mid-April of this year, I was sitting in a Starbucks (renamed Stars Coffee) in the Galleria Mall in downtown Saint Petersburg, Russia, watching the massive crowds of shoppers that looked like something out of a mid-1990’s Christmas season in the USA. The place was packed with people shopping.
As I sipped my coffee, on my phone I was reading a Wall Street Journal report about the devastating impact of the Western sanctions against Russia, “according to those with an understanding of Moscow’s situation.” I read a paragraph, looked up at the crowd, read a paragraph, looked around and the bags being carried, I laughed.
A little later, I filled the gas tank in my rent-a-car for $15 and drove past miles upon miles of towering apartment buildings under construction, having just read about the shortage of ‘steel’ in Russia, “according to sources familiar with the matter.” Stopping to buy a week’s worth of groceries for $70, I referenced the other article from the Washington Post that day about massive inflation in Russia, “according to expert western economists.” ”

I was just adressing the posted item. If you bother to look at it , it really is quite vague and doesnt say much. Its a common thing on this site to post a link to what is in simple language a crap resource and then treat it as gospel.
20
I agree “SLAY” as a site name doesn’t inspire much confidence hence I always try for at least separate sources from higher up the credibility chain but even Wall St Journal and BBC are spinners. The ref to A Few Good Men was to reinforce idea that at even at the highest level – US military court of inquiry (fiction of course) you STILL run into someone who puts their value judgement above all and everyone else. No slight intended. Cheers.

NZ Foreign Minister Criticizes Aussie COVID Inquiry
New Zealand’s Foreign Minister, Winston Peters, has strongly condemned the Australian government’s inquiry into its handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, labeling it a “whitewash”.
10
‘Whitewash’: New Zealand foreign minister blasts Australian COVID inquiry
“You guys haven’t had a review, you’ve had a whitewash,” Peters said in Auckland about the Albanese government’s COVID inquiry released last month.

Sheer coincidence or a poke in the eye that COP29 commences today, 11 November 11:11am?
Snow came early to the Caucasus Mountains this year, with a decent little dusting over the past week. Azerbaijan’s 3 ski areas have yet to open, however between today and the 22nd, a forecast huge Baltic/Arctic storm may change their fortunes.
Perhaps the Planet Saviours and Masters of the Climate could go skiing on one of their numerous lunch breaks to cool down from their heated discussions over the future of oil in a green sustainable [sic] world.
May they rest in peace.
50
Or an even bigger horror of horrors. Perhaps a down slope rushing COP29 inmate might come up with the idea of a: c o m p r o m i s e. The global destroying carbon producers can have the night-time, and the greenies can have the day-time and together we get a half-decent future.

Of those pondering or planning a move, 90% are considering moving to another country and 80% to another state.
