I thought this was a very good topic of interest…
https://nofrakkingconsensus.com/2021/06/21/canadians-arent-being-told-about-vaccine-risks/
Our Healthcare is illegally promoting an experiment without explaining any risks or side effects.
That is illegal in the Canadian courts.
190
And what appears to be another vaccine fail, here in Oz…..
Whoops…hasnt anyone told them the vaccine doesn’t actually protect them, it just suppresses illness symptoms….ergo….
Perhaps it will be explained away by the other myth, climate Change ™?
https://www.news.com.au/national/queensland/news/queensland-records-one-new-local-covid19-case/news-story/f59742cde8c1388ce41324a24e4e10ac
“Queensland health authorities believe a fully vaccinated staff member “could have transmitted” Covid-19 between two guests staying on different floors at a hotel quarantine facility.
“It comes as one new case of locally acquired Covid-19 was detected overnight, but at this stage authorities are confident it is linked to the flight attendant who contracted the virus at the Four Points Hotel, as announced on the weekend.
110
Those who have been paying attention have always known that the inoculation only provides protection against getting very ill from the virus. It’s always been known that it doesn’t prevent infection or shedding.
Why is this an issue now?
Of course, antivirals (HCQ + zinc + Azithromycin + D3; Ivermectin + zinc + Azithromycin + D3) have much the same effect at a fraction of the cost.
Don’t believe me. Read it for yourself:

G’day S S,
” …have much the same effect at a fraction of the cost. ”
I’ve gotta disagree with the first part of that. The regimes you’ve identified differ from the currently recommended set in at least four major ways:
1. They work rapidly;
2. They actually stop the virus from replicating, so the person either doesn’t get sick, or gets better quickly;
3. There is no spread from the treated patient;
4. The known side effects are known, rare, and minor.
Apart from that, great comment.
Cheers

When reading an old edition of the International Record Review I found this little gem, a piece for piano written by Claude Debussy in part payment to his coal merchant during the winter of 1917. It is called Les soirs illuminés par l’ardeur du charbon, ‘Evening illumined by the glow of coal’.

Thanks Strop,
I’m a great fan of Donna’s, whose book “The delinquent teenager” opened my eyes to to the extent of the anti-science of the UN IPCC and its supporters, so I’m delighted to hear she’s still active and will follow the link you’ve provided with enjoyment for her latest contribution, even if there is darkness in what she has to present.

I wasn’t familiar with that book. “The Delinquent Teenager Who Was Mistaken for the World’s Top Climate Expert”
Funny (or maybe prophetic) title considering the later prominence of Greta Thunberg.

Ninety minutes well spent listening to Canada’s best product Donna La Framboise give the raspberry to our climate warrior brethren.
Her views on university funding ought to be studied by our federal government; time was when people went to university to be immersed in a wide range of conflicting ideas but today one walks into a booby trapped world of woke conformity.
Thanks Strop.

I went to a Canadian College in the late 1980’s…Construction/Renovations. It taught all aspects of building a house including wiring and plumbing.
Now it is classed illegal as every individual area, you need licenses and constant updates and safety training, equipment and regulations as the laws change yearly.
I can work on my own house but it is illegal for me to work on anyone else’s home.

(American) Families will begin receiving monthly payments in their bank accounts of $250 or more per child beginning in July, a massive entitlement program that comes as part of Biden’s $1.9 trillion coronavirus rescue plan. [Breitbart]

Unsupported by EIA Data, Emissions Unchanged
Guest essay by Larry Hamlin
https://wattsupwiththat.com/2021/06/21/hawaii-renewable-electricity-claims-unsupported-by-eia-data-emissions-unchanged/
70
As clearly demonstrated in Australia you can complete a 100% transition to renewables without actually using 100% renewable power. The ACT is an example and even Aldi Supermarkets make the same claim, and in both cases they take whatever the grid provided. If you shuffle enough paper and torture a spreadsheet or two you can spin any story you like on that front it seems.
220
Talking of the ACT …apparently they have **bi-directional EVs**….makes one rise thier eyebrow, quizzically….
Apparently EVs will stablize the grid…which was destablized by renewables. Huh?
Its this kind of silly circular thinking that appears to be ratehr unique to the greenist nonsense.
Look ..up in the sky….its a bird, its a plane…
Its a flaming EV…..Well, it does get cold in canberra….
https://the-riotact.com/how-your-ev-will-stabilise-the-grid-and-power-your-home/470032
“It’s so much more than a car. That’s the promise electric vehicles hold for households, businesses and the electricity grid.
“That’s because they are essentially batteries on wheels, and those that can discharge power into premises and the grid could play an integral role in an eventual entirely renewable power system.
“The government says that if a Leaf is plugged in and a signal is received saying the frequency in the grid is beginning to drop, the vehicles can discharge some of the energy stored in their batteries back into the grid, helping to raise the frequency to an acceptable level and stabilise it.
50
The more cycles in and out of the grid will shorten the life of your super expensive battery.
40
Plus you’ll need an external bi-directional charger to feed convert DC to AC and feed it into the grid. The socialist government in the ACT will provide that to you free of charge will they?
And, I wonder what the Feed-in-tariff will be that you get paid vis-a-vis the cost per kWh from the grid.
In WA at the moment the Feed-in-tariff is as low as 3 cents or so for some PV installations, whereas the cost of one kWh from the grid is as high as 30 cents.
Delusions abound in Canberra. That’s why there are so many shrinks there with full order books.

Magic puddings, everywhere you look. It will be great.

Texas Starts Waking Up To The Issue Of The Full Costs Of “Renewables”

Texas power grid fails again. This time too much heat forced the operators to adjust thermostats in private homes to make up of a shortfall as number of coal and gas production units unexpectedly shut down.
Texans, are you happy with a energy company controlling your air con during heat waves?
https://www.texasmonthly.com/news-politics/what-is-wrong-with-the-texas-grid/
now if this occurred in Russia, China or anywhere not west you can bet it would be front page
124
51
….to continue..
I seriously doubt that in Russia or China or Germany , or Australia !
Its called “Demand Management”.
90
I can always rely on you to miss the point – the power company, without asking will adjust your thermostat up in a heat wave. I would expect a totalitarian state to operate in this way but not the so called champion of democracy the USA
013
You must live under a rock PF.
These “ demand management”. Techniques have been tested an installed in many places, including Australia.
A/C control is the most common version, but other high power equipment can also be controlled remotely by “smart” technology.
Infact, there is a plan to take complete control of some home metering systems such that the service provider can force households to use grid power if necessary in preference to their private solar installation..and vice versa
20
“if this occurred in Russia, China or anywhere not west”
Poor Peter…
No “demand management” in Russia or China at all, is there…
10
It wouldn’t happen in Russia or China. It wouldn’t have to, because they don’t rely on intermittent, expensive “green” energy.
They are not stupid like we in the West.

Why Was $66 Billion Spent on Renewables Before the Texas Blackouts?
(plus $21.7 billion more in subsidies since that $66 bn was spent building them.)
Could it be that there’s a connection between “renewables” and the no-longer-fit-for-purpose Texas grid? You’re always raving about subsidies for fossil fuels PF, so how do you explain that away?
https://notalotofpeopleknowthat.wordpress.com/2021/06/19/why-was-66-billion-spent-on-renewables-before-the-texas-blackouts/

Ok, so you have to have a “smart thermostat” installed (never heard of it) and enrol in a program that enables it.
Given it requires voluntary participation I don’t see the totalitarian angle and western media silence that Peter is suggesting.

I think you will find they are ‘asking nicely’ if you would mind raising the setpoint of your a/c, to reduce the load on the grid.
10
no- they adjust it as they please, it’s in the contract you sign
04
And still the grid crashes.
The green fascists’ delusions fail again.
80
“it’s in the contract you sign”
So its something the consumer has agreed to..
How is that anything to do with “totalitarian state” that you whinged about in #7.1.1.1 ??
You really need to get your little stories straight, Peter.

Peter,
Where does the article state that the operators turned up thermostats in people’s homes?
How would that be possible?
Sorry if I missed the joke.
Are you doing a Greta and talking in metaphors?

They make it sound like an incredibly difficult challenge when global multinationals have been doing this for decades. All it takes is the will and a willingness to share the inconvenience around and nt continually shaft on time zone.
On a lighter note I once received a phone in the early hours of the morning from a lovely sounding young lady in New York who was tasked with organising a global teleconference. When I explained that it was early morning here, she said “oh, do you have different time there then? are you on Mountain Time” She was new, I think.

OMB is taking comments on the Social Cost of Carbon, through tomorrow.
https://www.regulations.gov/document/OMB-2021-0006-0001/comment
Here is mine: “Comment by David Wojick, Ph.D. A scientifically accurate estimate of SCC is impossible at this time for two reasons. First the temperature sensitivity of CO2 is completely unknown. Published estimates range from less than one degree C to more than 5 degrees. There is no scientific basis for averaging these hypotheses or for taking a midpoint, which the presently used IAMs do. Second the nature of technological change in the next 100 to 300 years is completely unpredictable, while the economic impact is completely dependent on this change. This is true for all the emitted GHGs, not just CO2. In short there can be no valid estimate of SCC for administrative purposes.”
You do not have to be a US citizen to comment. This is a global issue.
151
Of course, there are benefits from increased Carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. The Social Benefits of Carbon; the SBCs.
Those benefits are also hard to estimate. However, they need to be estimated and netted off the SCC.
The net effect is likely to be positive.
But the drones don’t want to think about that – or much else either.
30
At least one of the three models (IAMs) used to estimate SCC includes the plant productivity benefits. It shows the CO2 increase to be beneficial up to around 2 degrees of warming. It also includes some benefits from modest warming. This is Richard Tol’s FUND model.
10
Good. Thanks David.
That’s at least a start.
However, there are other benefits as well. For example, if the ambient temperature is warmer, then the demand for heating is less. I’ve no doubt that they’ve taken into account the increased demand for cooling. There are always + and -s. It just that the drones seem to over look the positives most of the time.
10
Damn! To ensure consideration, comments must be in writing and received by June 21, 2021.
00
If I was told 33 years ago that we would have an international Climate Emergency in 2021 based on CO2 levels, I would have been flabbergasted. Where is it? Why is it the biggest single problem in world politics?
To even make this technically possible, you have to deny equilibrium and insist that fossil fuel CO2 is special and insoluble when it is 50x more soluble than oxygen and 98% of all CO2 is in the water. You have to insist that CO2 is not in rapid equilibrium with the vast oceans. That does not make science sense.
And if the water warms, CO2 comes out. But I am told to believe that CO2 both warms the water and goes into the water as it warms (ocean acidification) and CO2 dominates world temperatures as the single biggest factor, more rapid and significant than solar cycles and ocean cycles. What happened to the ice ages?
With no evidence, no science logic and after 33 years not a single prediction true out of thousands, how is it that there is now a Climate Emergency? And Climate Policy is the critical policy which will decide the next Australian government, as across the entire front page of the Australian newspaper?
As the sun comes up over the park in Melbourne and the air warms from 4C to 16C in a few hours on a bright winter’s morning, the idea that humans control the temperature of a planet is completely nuts. And that a tiny 1.5C makes any difference to anything is beyond nuts.
Why doesn’t a single journalist in the Australian question Climate Change?
Science is dead. Long live propaganda.
340
Isotope ratios my good man.
017
Of course. The C12/C14 ratio used in very accurate Radio Carbon dating can absolutely identify fossil fuel CO2 and shows the level is under 4%, not 33%. This has been known since 1958 when it was 2.3+/- 0.15%. There is virtually no man made CO2 in the air. CO2 is highly soluble and the half life to absorption by the oceans a mere 6 years. CO2 from WW2 is completely gone, 2-12 = 4096, so 0.025% is left.
180
You can measure the age of CO2 just as you can measure the age of a stick from Tutenkhamun’s tomb. Discovered in the 1950s and perfected.
In the air and oceans, the biosphere, only 1 in a trillion atoms is radioactive C14 formed in the upper stratosphere and in equilibrium levels. But fossil fuel which can be 150million years old has no C14 at all. It’s the same idea as a medical tracer. You would think radio carbon dating did not exist. It’s never mentioned and so simple.
110
err … you know why that 4% value is a red herring. No? Equilibrium, carbon cycle etc.
013
No I don’t. Would you care to explain?
100
Not likely, the ‘my good man’ and ‘err’ are the usual attempt at dismissive put down with no substance. The bite of a savage dog with tiny rubber teeth. A deer with no eyes. No eye deer. As for red herrings, they are sick fish.
“A red herring is something that misleads or distracts from a relevant or important question. It may be either a logical fallacy or a literary device that leads readers or audiences toward a false conclusion. A red herring may be used intentionally, as in mystery fiction or as part of rhetorical strategies or may be used in argumentation inadvertently.
130
4% at any one time belies the reality of how equilibrium and accumulation work. Do you really want a pile of links or are you waiting for me to send them so you can dismiss them as ignorant and alarmist?
114
Leaf knows nothing of climate change.
110
and I assume you have a valid critique of these old and well cited papers
Stuiver, M., Burk, R. L. and Quay, P. D. 1984. 13C/12C ratios and the transfer of biospheric carbon to the atmosphere. J. Geophys. Res. 89, 11,731-11,748.
Francey, R.J., Allison, C.E., Etheridge, D.M., Trudinger, C.M., Enting, I.G., Leuenberger, M., Langenfelds, R.L., Michel, E., Steele, L.P., 1999. A 1000-year high precision record of d13Cin atmospheric CO2. Tellus 51B, 170–193.
Quay, P.D., B. Tilbrook, C.S. Wong. Oceanic uptake of fossil fuel CO2: carbon-13 evidence. Science 256 (1992), 74-79
16
I have to say ‘belies the reality’ is a bit flash. I mean, what would a humble blogger know about reality?
So please send just one link on equilibrium, one on accumulation, one on carbon cycle and none on etc. I would love to know about these things and how they prove man made CO2 levels. You have my reference from the Royal Society on how it was not true in 1958 by direct measurement, long before this new science of man made CO2 levels was invented in 1988.
110
my reply is in moderation. They are not links, they are foundational publications.
09
And the end of the freezing little Ice Age was in the 1880s, amazingly the same start for CO2 increase. As if a warming ocean surface would not release more CO2 anyway, but someone has decided it is fossil fuel CO2 from the industrial revolution. The simplest but not only problem with that idea is that you can prove it’s categorically and indisputably not true.
80
Now I am supposed to read books? No. Simple facts will do.
60
And I was wondering what you were going to teach about the carbon cycle, equilibrium, isotopic ratios and red herrings. Or is it all just about red herrings?
60

Warwick Hughes illustrates that Australia soaks up all its CO2 emissions.
https://www.warwickhughes.com/blog/?p=6744
10
And this:
https://notrickszone.com/2021/06/17/new-study-inadvertently-slays-the-narrative-emissions-reductions-from-lockdowns-added-warming/
From one year to the next, the gigatons of carbon (GtC) increase from human activity typically has averaged +0.1 to +0.2 GtC since 1900 (Koutsoyiannis and Kundzewicz, 2020). In 2020, however, CO2 emissions plummeted and the annual emissions rate fell by -0.75 GtC. Despite this dramatic decline, the atmospheric CO2 levels rose by a little more than 2 ppm in 2020, which is essentially the same growth total as previous years.
Succinctly put, the total net human impact on climate is realized far more profoundly by adding to or reducing our industrial/traffic particulate or pollutive output than by altering our CO2 emissions. Assuming the goal actually is to reduce the human contribution to Earth’s radiation imbalance, climate policies that solely focus on CO2 emissions mitigation are therefore rather pointless.
Oh dear, all that additional CO2 is not derived from human activity.

I read an article about how The World Bank is advising against lending money to construct coal fired power plants in Africa. Some say it’s eco-imperialism, that the West is denying Africa the benefits of access to electrical power that they already have and take so much for granted.
It made me think again, as I have mentioned this before years ago with a Guest Post here at Joanne’s site, but I wondered if there had been any improvement in the intervening seven years, so I did the exercise again, and it takes time, as there are 54 separate Countries and 4 other Countries with second Country control, so 58 Countries to chase up power consumption data on those 58 Countries, and then their population as well.
So, those 58 Countries consume 678TWH of power each year. Only ONE Country South Africa, consumes more power per year than Australia, and that’s only slightly more than Australia. (207TWH versus 204TWH here in Australia) And the population of South Africa is 60 Million.
The top FIVE consuming Countries are:
South Africa, Egypt, Algeria, Morocco, and Nigeria. Just these five Countries consume 479TWH of power a year. Take that away from the total and what remains is 199TWH for the remaining 53 Countries.
Australia consumes 204TWH of power a year.
That’s not much more than those 53 Countries in Africa.
So, Australia consumes (almost) the same power as those 53 Countries in Africa.
The population of Australia is 25 Million.
Those 53 Countries in Africa have a total population of ….. 924 Million.
I, umm, hope you can see the inequity there.
It’s not that those Africans are more frugal in their consumption of power. It’s that they actually have no access to electrical power.
The Mainland Australian State with the LOWEST power consumption is South Australia, and that State consumes 13.8TWH of power a year.
In Africa 51 Countries consume less power than South Australia.
The COMBINED total power consumption of 27 of those 51 Countries is less than the total for South Australia.
18 Of those Countries consume less power than a small sized city in Australia.
We HAVE that power. They don’t.
And now, green ideology has scared banks into advising against lending for power plants which actually can deliver large scale power, those same type of power plants that gave us our affluence.
Tony.
300
I have a good friend who is always raising money for a hospital mission in very dangerous and impoverished South Sudan, a mission run by Italian nuns and Christian Brothers. Australians and Australian donors have helped build a hospital but what they really needed was electrical power for refrigeration so they could have antibiotics. Can you imagine the death rate in a hospital without antibiotics?
Volunteer Australian electrical engineers flew there and installed a solar system and battery bought with generous donations, a system which allows the hospital to have very basic health care. And this in an area where the night sounds include the chatter of AK47s.
We take electrical power for granted and we are still decommissioning perfectly good power stations built to last forever and replace them with short term, non commandable and utterly inadequate fantasy power.
We should be shipping our wind farms to Africa for people in need, people without our coal, gas and oil. It’s awful that the countries like Germany and Australia and the UK which have abundant coal are spending fortunes pretending wind and solar are adequate when it is so obvious they are a joke, except when you have nothing else.
230
Even worse, some of those countries have large coal and/or gas resources, all untapped.
40
“We should be shipping
ourChina’s wind farms to Africa ……….”There, I fixed it for you.
10
I believe power stations are very attractive in some parts of Africa. Pick up a copper cable and you ‘wind up’ at the power station.
Particularly with the high price for copper.

That’s an incredible contrast Tony and a good outline.
The evolution of electrical power in Australia has been a long slow process which has resulted from the interaction of a number of factors many of which are not present in the current situation in Africa.
Here in the Hunter valley there was income to be made in farming and coal mining.
The availability of good quality coal gave the port city for the Hunter a chance to develop a steel industry with the other two ingredients, ore and flux, shipped in from other far off places around Australia.
One side benefit was that coal enabled the development of gas for residents that needed to cook and boil water.
Wall mounted gas outlets for gas lighting using “mantles” were useful until the coal fired power station at Zaara street made electric lights readily available.
I guess what I’m trying to point to is the very hard work that came before each jump in technology.
In Africa it seems that most are living a rural life with no business or commercial activity that could pay for the introduction of electricity.
That’s what the Chinese Belt and Road is for; to bring free electricity to all of Africa.

I note the papers are Carbon13, not Carbon 14!
They are part of an amazingly torturous attempt to use C13 (1%) to prove man made CO2 levels and they disagree with the long proven science of radio carbon dating. You can get the answer by direct measurement.
Like ocean acidification that does not stop people doing such things as at JCU. It is all rubbish.

This was in response to Gee Aye at #14.1.1.2.3.
Thank you for the papers.

Quay, P.D., B. Tilbrook, C.S. Wong. Oceanic uptake of fossil fuel CO2: carbon-13 evidence. Science 256 (1992), 74-79
I do not see the relevance of #1 or #2 and #3 supports my conjecture “implies that the ocean is the dominant net sink for anthropogenically produced CO2 and that there has been no significant net CO2 released from the biosphere during the last 20 years.”
90
Did not see this. I don’t see how you dismissed these. What is your logic?
c14 doesn’t change as a result of burning fossil fuels – the C13/14 ratio is the one that is most sensitive.
As an aside – here is a scientist who measured ratios in a bunch of coals, then burned them to see what ratios he’d find in the captured gases. Lo and behold they were correlated. Fairly obvious but the whole thing extrapolates tot he real world. I wish he’d washed his fume cabinet before taking photos
https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S016651621630283X
and this one contains a lot of hard data. Makes it hard to ignore C13.
https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0375674216300978
03
“c14 doesn’t change as a result of burning fossil fuels”
Let me explain why that is not true.
Consider fossil fuel has no (radioactive) C14. It’s millions of years, hundreds of millions of years old.
So if CO2 has increased 50% because of burning fossil fuels as alleged, then 33% of the CO2 now has no C14. Agreed?
So the C14 component is diluted by 33%. In fact the C14 measured dilution was 2.3% in 1958 as in the paper and less than 4% now. QED.
Radiocarbon dating is about measuring the amount of C14 in a sample, wood, bone or even CO2 itself. Radioactive Carbon 14 does not exist naturally. It is created by cosmic rays and has reached an equilibrium position with a half life around 5420 years. That’s how radio carbon dating works. The amount of C14 left in an old piece of wood is determined by how old it is. If you wait long enough, there is none.
The two stable isotopes of Carbon are C12 at 99% and C13 at 1%.
As for the stable but rare C13, there are botanists and others trying to work out why there is a different uptake of C12 and C13 but this sort of science, like all biological sciences at the plant level are like playing pool with a piece of rope. C14 is almost a dream science experiment but this was not realised until the 1940s. It’s only one atom in a trillion and this cannot be changed by chemistry.
So we can say conclusively there is (almost) no fossil fuel CO2 in the air.
And then you would ask, how did CO2 itself increase 50% without combustion? And I would have to explain the warm beer effect as 98% of the gas is dissolved in the oceans.
50
“So the C14 component is diluted by 33%. In fact the C14 measured dilution was 2.3% in 1958 as in the paper and less than 4% now. QED.”
Trying to get my head around that.
You are saying that despite the fact that C14 content should have dropped by 33%, it has actually increased slightly?
Since the burning of fossil fuels cannot increase the C14 content, (but actually decreases it), where does the increase in C14 content come from ?
10
Let me try an analogy.
Firstly I want to restrict it to 1900 to 1965 because the French atmospheric tests doubled radioactive C14, complicating but not changing the story.
I will try an analogy.
In 1958 consider tiny C14 in air a strong red dye. Air with C14 is bright red in 1900. CO2 added from fossil fuels and without C14 is white. In 1900 the air was bright red. By 1958 after two massive world wars and more than half way through the 20th century, scientists had really expected 14% of the CO2 was now from fossil fuel. They expected pink. But the air was still bright red! How?
Where did most of the white CO2 go? The explanation is that CO2 exchanges rapidly with other CO2 in the massive oceans which contain 98% of all CO2. It goes in and out all the time. And what is in the ocean is all bright red. And in this rapid exchange white CO2 was replaced rapidly with red CO2. What should have been a 14% concentration in the air became a mere 2% of 14% or 0.28% concentration in the ocean. Not significant.
And in turn what that means it that we humans do not control CO2 levels. They are set by equilibrium. Heat the ocean and CO2 will go up. Cool it and CO2 will go down. Which is exactly what happened since the little ice age ended around 1880.
Everything you have been told about man made CO2, man made warming is by people making money from a science fraud.
40
And to top all that off, atmospheric CO2 does not warm the atmosphere. Water vapour does.
Water vapour is the only gas which carries it’s heat of evaporation with it. Before the UN, we used to call it (relative) Humidity.
It stands to reason: the planet is a water planet with over 70% of its surface overed by liquid water. CO2 is still a trace gas at 0.042%. See: Paradigm-Busting New Study Affirms CO2 Doesn’t Drive Climate – Water, Clouds Do at Notrickszone.com. (https://notrickszone.com/2021/05/24/paradigm-busting-new-study-affirms-co2-doesnt-drive-climate-water-clouds-do/).
20
Thanks, good explanation 😉
10
hmm I meant 12/13 – at least the discussion didn’t get sidetracked by that mistake.
Tdef – your analogy is straining things and your explanation of C14 doesn’t tie with observations or published science. I’ll leave it there unless you deal directly with the science.

10

00
You see there is a stable system. CO2 was in the air always and long before the combustion engine and its concentration was determined by many factors and in total equilibrium with the ocean. Even the IPCC agrees with that. After all 98% of all CO2 is in the ocean. And you do not need to be a scientist to know that if the ocean warms, say by increased solar intensity (De Vries cycle) or oceanic oscillation (PDO) or just a decade of relatively few clouds, CO2 will come out of the ocean. And as biosphere CO2 is only 2%, you only need 1% to come out of the ocean to get your 150% increase.
Also no one ever argued in man made Global Warming that CO2 heated the ocean. They only argued that CO2 heated the air. But CO2 has gone up and that is a direct consequence of warming ocean surfaces, as around the Great Barrier Reef.
So there is no problem. Everything is natural. As as the 1958 article says, if all the CO2 stayed in the air, the % CO2 would be 14%, not 2.3%. That fact alone debunked the IPCC claim that CO2 has a half life of 80 years or in other places ‘thousands of years’. We now know the half life very accurately on a planetary scale where in 1958 they could only guess at 5 years. They were close.
Strange as it might seem, we puny humans are of little consequence. Even our mighty atom bombs cannot do what a volcano can do and has done. And we have survived most of those. The real fear is a meteor strike and despite Bruce Willis’ bravery, there is nothing we can do about that.
So the windmills are useless totems for a false God, Climate Change. The modern equivalent of Easter Island statues. We do not know why they built them but we are pretty sure they were also useless. I wonder how much they cost?
60
TdeF,
wrt. https://retractionwatch.com/2019/09/27/did-the-ipccs-new-oceans-report-mean-to-cite-a-now-retracted-paper/
In 2019 the IPCC report gave undue relevance to a retracted paper.
The report still has more or less the same wording but the reference paper is now changed. Basically they say that with tortured statistics you have “ocean CO2 observations (now more than 20 million observations, SOCATv6 (https://www.socat.info/index.php/2018/06/19/v6-release/) demonstrate that the net ocean uptake of CO2 from the atmosphere has increased from around 1.2±0.5 Pg C yr-1 in the early 1980s to 2.0±0.5 Pg C yr-1 in the years 2010-2015 (Rödenbeck et al., 2014; Landschützer et al., 2016).”
According to the IPCC only fresh water from rivers and run-off supplies the majority of outgassed CO2 from water!
[sarc-on] So, IPCC logic says ocean only take in atmospheric CO2 while river’s can do the opposite. [sarc-off]
50
“It is virtually certain that the global ocean has warmed unabated since 1970 and has taken up more than 90% of the excess heat in the climate system (high confidence). Since 1993, the rate of ocean warming has more than doubled (likely).”
The IPCC is trying to sheet changes in ocean surface temperature to CO2? How does that work? The radiation story does not work with the water which covers 3/4 of the planet. The changes in water surface temperature are miniscule compared to the dry land. It does not radiate as much simply because the water surface is never as hot. Nude swimmers in the Derwent, Tasmania tonight were swimming in water which was 14C when the air temperature was 2C. Water could care less about air temperature and it absorbs 75% of the solar energy which hits the earth.
So how does CO2 warm the oceans without warming the air? What happened to the radiation story and capture by CO2? The story of man made CO2 driven air warming is being twisted because it has failed utterly.
CO2 warming the oceans is a joke. At the very least, they are 1400x the heat capacity of the air anyway and most of this massive mass is never below zero. And if it is, ice floats to the top. Oceans are gigantic deep solar batteries and contain thousands of years of solar radiation energy where the land can be -50C at night in winter in Siberia. Crack the ice and there will be fish swimming even at the North Pole.
It is actually the other way around, water heating and cooling the air, as shown by the Gulf Stream, the Humboldt current and many more major currents and then the oscillations of heat in the oceans which are 3.4km deep. That’s why so much of humanity lives near the ocean, it moderates the climate. If you want to understand climates study only the sun and the oceans. All weather is caused by one of them.
As for CO2, it is 50x more soluble in water than oxygen and most life in the ocean requires oxygen. Where does it get oxygen? And why doesn’t fossil fuel get sucked in continually and rapidly? Of course it does. Half gone every 6 years. All straight science. Proven.
The UN IPCC is as dangerous as the UN WHO or now UNESCO, UN committees take over by Communist China. And they are being used to damage Western Democracies and economies like Australia. It’s all fake political science. And the WHO was still insisting WUHAN Flu was not infectious in late February as millions of Chinese tourists fanned across the world while they were welding people in their apartments in Wuhan.
50
Yep TdeF, the IPCC version of how the oceans warm, and what outgasses the CO2 is true unscientific nonsense. However it is consistent with the IPCC’s bureaucratic anti-human, anti-science climate majic paradigm.

I didn’t write any of the following, but it is very good nevertheless…
THE WASHINGTON POST HITS OBAMA.
Finally, the Washington Post speaks out on Obama!
This is very brutal, but timely. The Washington Post newspaper has a reputation for being extremely liberal.
So the fact that its editor saw fit to print the following article about Obama in its newspaper makes this a truly amazing event, and a news story in and of itself.
At last, the truth about our President and his obvious socialist agenda are starting to trickle through the protective wall built around him by our liberal media.
By Matt Patterson (columnist – Washington Post, New York Post, San Francisco Examiner)
Years from now, historians may regard the 2008 election of Barack Obama as an inscrutable and disturbing phenomenon, the result of a baffling breed of mass hysteria akin perhaps to the witch craze of the Middle Ages.
How did a man so devoid of professional accomplishment beguile so many into thinking he could manage the world’s largest economy, direct the world’s most powerful military, execute the world’s most consequential job?
Imagine a future historian examining Obama’s pre-presidential life: ushered into and through the Ivy League despite unremarkable grades and test scores along the way; a cushy non-job as a “community organizer”; a brief career as a state legislator devoid of legislative achievement (and in fact nearly devoid of his attention, so often did he vote “present”); and finally an unaccomplished single term in the United States Senate, the entirety of which was devoted to his presidential ambitions.
He left no academic legacy in academia, authored no signature legislation as a legislator.
And then there is the matter of his troubling associations: the white-hating, America-loathing preacher who for decades served as Obama’s “spiritual mentor”; a real-life, actual terrorist who served as Obama’s colleague and political sponsor.
It is easy to imagine a future historian looking at it all and asking: how on Earth was such a man elected president?
Not content to wait for history, the incomparable Norman Podhoretz addressed the question recently in the Wall Street Journal: To be sure, no white candidate who had close associations with an outspoken hater of America like Jeremiah Wright and an unrepentant terrorist like Bill Ayers, would have lasted a single day. But because Mr. Obama was black, and therefore entitled in the eyes of liberal Dom to have hung out with protesters against various American injustices, even if they were a bit extreme, he was given a pass.
Let that sink in: Obama was given a pass – held to a lower standard – because of the color of his skin.
Podhoretz continues: And in any case, what did such ancient history matter when he was also so articulate and elegant and (as he himself had said) “non-threatening”, all of which gave him a fighting chance to become the first black president, and thereby to lay the curse of racism to rest?
Podhoretz puts his finger, I think, on the animating pulse of the Obama phenomenon – affirmative action.
Not in the legal sense, of course. But certainly in the motivating sentiment behind all affirmative action laws and regulations, which are designed primarily to make white people, and especially white liberals, feel good about themselves. Unfortunately, minorities often suffer so that whites can pat themselves on the back.
Liberals routinely admit minorities to schools for which they are not qualified, yet take no responsibility for the inevitable poor performance and high drop- out rates which follow. Liberals don’t care if these minority students fail; liberals aren’t around to witness the emotional devastation and deflated self-esteem resulting from the racist policy that is affirmative action. Yes, racist.
Holding someone to a separate standard merely because of the color of his skin – that’s affirmative action in a nutshell, and if that isn’t racism, then that is what America did to Obama. True, Obama himself was never troubled by his lack of achievements, but why would he be?
As many have noted, Obama was told he was good enough for Columbia despite undistinguished grades at Occidental; he was told he was good enough for the US Senate despite a mediocre record in Illinois; he was told he was good enough to be president despite no record at all in the Senate. All his life, every step of the way, Obama was told he was good enough for the next step, in spite of ample evidence to the contrary.
What could this breed, if not the sort of empty narcissism on display every time Obama speaks? In 2008, many who agreed that he lacked executive qualifications nonetheless raved about Obama’s oratory skills, intellect, and cool character. Those people – conservatives included – ought now to be deeply embarrassed.
The man thinks and speaks in the hoariest of clichés, and that’s when he has his teleprompters in front of him; when the prompter is absent he can barely think or speak at all. Not one original idea has ever issued from his mouth – it’s all warmed-over Marxism of the kind that has failed over and over again for 100 years.
And what about his character? Obama is constantly blaming anything and everything else for his troubles. Bush did it; it was bad luck; I inherited this mess. It is embarrassing to see a president so willing to advertise his own powerlessness, so comfortable with his own incompetence. But really, what were we to expect? The man has never been responsible for anything, so how do we expect him to act responsibly?
In short: our past president is a small, and small-minded man, with neither the temperament nor the intellect to handle his job. When you understand that, and only when you understand that, will the current erosion of liberty and prosperity make sense. It could not have gone otherwise with such a man in the Oval Office.
And now Obama is back, with his hand up Biden’s (you know what) moving his demented mouth, and the USA is in real trouble.

Covid’s warped vaccines
Highly credentialled whiste-blowers sound a warning
Rebecca Weisser
19 June 2021
Samuel Langley, the inventor of a catastrophically incompetent ‘flying’ machine is a striking example of governments picking losers. When his 16-metre monster was catapulted into the air in 1903, it instantly plunged into the Potomac river like an obese Icarus. Langley was the beneficiary of the sort of government largesse and boosterism that has lately been lavished on Operation Warp Speed’s Covid vaccines but at least nobody died as a result of his incompetence. The same cannot be said of the Covid vaccines.
In the US, the official database for adverse reactions to all the Covid vaccines has now registered almost 6,000 deaths, just in the first five months. Compare this to 2019, when there were only 605 deaths reported in the whole year, for all vaccines combined. That’s more than an order of magnitude increase. There were also almost 330,000 reports of vaccine injury including almost 2,200 heart attacks, more than 1500 reports of blood clots combined with low platelets and more than 15,000 reports of severe allergic reactions. Yes, correlation does not prove causation but adverse events on this scale have never before been seen, in the more than 200 years since the first vaccine was invented and need to be properly investigated and explained.
In the UK, Dr Tess Lawrie, a world-class evidence-based medical researcher and consultant to the World Health Organization wrote to the British Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency saying, ‘The MHRA has more than enough evidence on the Yellow Card system to declare C19 vaccines unsafe for use in humans’. In less than five months in the UK there were over 1,250 deaths and 888,000 adverse reactions including almost 14,000 bleeding, clotting and stroke events (856 fatal) occurring in almost every vein and artery and every organ — brain (152 fatalities), lungs (103 fatalities), heart (81 fatalities), spleen, kidneys, ovaries and liver. There were also almost 55,000 reports of infection and immune disorders, strongly suggesting vaccine-induced immune-compromise and re-activation of latent viruses resulting in shingles, Bell’s palsy and Guillain-Barré syndrome. And there were 4,771 reports of visual impairment including blindness. In the UN’s global database 6,500 deaths have been reported and over a million injuries, most among individuals aged 18 to 64 and 70 per cent women.
How could Covid vaccines inflict so much and such diverse harm? Perhaps because of two fatally flawed assumptions; that the spike protein is harmless and that it remains in the injection site. Recent research at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston shows that the spike protein circulates in the plasma of vaccine recipients for up to 28 days and researchers at the Salk Institute showed that the spike protein on its own, without the virus, damages the cells in the walls of blood vessels, triggering clotting and also attacking platelets, so that the blood can’t clot. Dr Stephanie Seneff, a senior research scientist at MIT, and Dr Greg Nigh reviewed possible unintended consequences of the mRNA vaccines including acute and long-term induced pathologies, such as blood disorders, neurodegenerative diseases and autoimmune diseases.
The credentials of those sounding an alarm are impressive. Mike Yeadon, the chief scientific officer running R&D at Pfizer over 17 years and a co-founder of Ziarco, a biotech company he sold to Novartis for $US1 billion, is deeply concerned about the failure to do proper safety trials and says attempts to foist the vaccines on those who don’t need them — healthy people aged 60 and under — is resulting in avoidable deaths and constitutes a crime against humanity.
Peter Doshi, one of the editors of the British Medical Journal, ANU’s Professor Peter Collignon and Professor Peter Gotzsche, co-founder of the Cochrane Collaboration, which pioneered evidenced-based medicine, are just three of 27 doctors, scientists and professors who have lodged a petition with the US Food and Drug Administration, asking the agency to ‘slow down and get the science right’ before granting full approval to the vaccines, which the manufacturers are already seeking. They think the existing evidence base is not mature enough to judge whether the clinical benefits outweigh the risks in all populations and only time—and better evidence—will tell.
Robert Malone is the inventor of mRNA vaccines so when he says there is a problem with mRNA vaccines, then Houston, there is a problem. He tweeted this week that he knows post-COVID genetic vaccine syndromes occur but he doesn’t know how severe they are or how frequent. He asks what will happen to trust in the US government and regulatory authorities ‘if ivermectin turns out to be safe and effective for COVID, and the genetic vaccines turn out to have significant safety issues?’ adding, ‘this looks like a very plausible scenario from where I sit’.
You know there is something desperately wrong with a life-saving medical treatment when you can’t give it away during a pandemic. Public health authorities have sunk to bribing members of the public with free junk food in exchange for a jab. Meanwhile, Facebook has become the Glavlit of the pandemic — the organisation in the former Soviet Union which censored all publications and broadcasting for state secrets. Recently, it has been deleting groups of up to 120,000 people sharing vaccine side-effects. Yet horrific stories are impossible to suppress, from Eric Clapton recounting how the vaccine severely exacerbated his peripheral neuropathy to Lisa Shaw, a healthy 44-year-old BBC broadcaster who died after vaccination, like Simone Scott, a healthy 19-year-old girl who died of heart inflammation after being vaccinated.
Only nine days after Samuel Langley’s ignominious failure in 1903, the Wright brothers flew through the skies of North Carolina without a cent of government subsidy, backed by nothing but their inspiration and perspiration. Yet Langley’s backers refused to admit their humiliating defeat, re-engineering his flightless bird so that it could become airborne, claimed he had beaten the Wright brothers, and named a NASA centre, an Army airbase and the CIA headquarters after him. Perhaps this was prophetic; each of these organisations has at times engaged in deception and self-deception leading to ruinous calamities such as the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster, the Iraq War, and the Bay of Pigs invasion. It wasn’t until almost a year after Orville Wright died in 1948 that the brothers’ plane was hung in the Smithsonian with a sign acknowledging their world-changing achievement. Let’s hope it doesn’t take so long for the the truth to be told about Covid’s warped vaccines.
60
There may be an additional problem with the ‘vaccines’ – shedding of the spike protein affecting people around a recently vaccinated person. Of course this is ridiculed by the promoters, but I am curious to know if the tingling in my fingers after my friend’s second shot is related.

But wait…theres more…..
Ongoing “Climate Emergency” lockdowns – to replace the Covid porky with the Climate Change porky?
This appears to be just a demented circular argument.
https://off-guardian.org/2021/06/10/is-a-climate-lockdown-on-the-horizon/
“The text of the report itself is actually quite craftily constructed. It doesn’t outright argue for climate lockdowns, but instead discusses ways “we” can prevent them.
“As COVID-19 spread […] governments introduced lockdowns in order to prevent a public-health emergency from spinning out of control. In the near future, the world may need to resort to lockdowns again – this time to tackle a climate emergency […] To avoid such a scenario, we must overhaul our economic structures and do capitalism differently.
“This cleverly creates a veneer of arguing against them, whilst actually pushing the a priori assumptions that any so-called “climate lockdowns” would a) be necessary and b) be effective. Neither of which has ever been established.
“Another thing the report assumes is some kind of causal link between the environment and the “pandemic”:
“COVID-19 is itself a consequence of environmental degradation
“I wrote an article, back in April, exploring the media’s persistent attempts to link the Covid19 “pandemic” with climate change. Everybody from the Guardian to the Harvard School of Public Health is taking the same position – “The root cause of pandemics [is] the destruction of nature”:
“The razing of forests and hunting of wildlife is increasingly bringing animals and the microbes they harbour into contact with people and livestock.

Oh yes. https://theconversation.com/a-controversial-us-book-is-feeding-climate-denial-in-australia-its-central-claim-is-true-yet-irrelevant-162922

Wow…fancy that….people denying that scientifically unproven Klimate Khange ™ exists….
Who would have thought.
80
that statement has no relationship to the book or the review
010
Nonsense…it applies to climate change and the article says
“A controversial US book is feeding climate denial in Australia. Its central claim is true, yet irrelevant”
“True…yet irrelevent”.
So…we are asked ignore the reality of lack of proof of CAGW, and continue believing climate fairy stories? Why? That would be incredibly stupid……

Science and facts that are not counter with anything except a plaintive whinge.
And please explain… what is “climate denial” ?

Hold on you shouldn’t be posting material from Misha Ketchell’s echo chamber or have you forgotten that only material with which the left agrees may be aired there?

‘However the five assessment reports of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change have expressed steadily increasing confidence that humans are the dominant cause of global warming this century.’
Strongly disagree.
ENSO is the temperature control knob driving temperatures up and down. Over decadal time spans its clear that natural climate cycles dominate, through oceanic oscillations, and the linear AGW theory is history.

Top Chinese defector ( apparently head of Chinese Counter Intelligence – aka spy catchers ) defects to USA.
Note that he is holed up with DIA ( military Intelligence ) – not CIA or FBI – which appar to be are heavily compromised by Chinese infiltration.
It rumoured he has not just names of Chinese spies on US soil, but also those who are chinese “owned” in gummmint.
Get your popcorn here….

“There are growing reports that a senior communist Chinese intelligence official has defected to the United States and is collaborating with my old outfit, the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA). Dissident Chinese-language media and Twitter have been buzzing about rumors that a vice minister of State Security, Dong Jingwei defected to the U.S. in mid-February.
“If accurate, this would be a major coup for the U.S., and DIA.
“According to reports, he flew from Hong Kong to the U.S. with his daughter, Dong Yang, who was studying at a California university. Matthew Brazil, an Expert Contributor to the Center for American Defense Studies (CADS), and co-author of the book Chinese Communist Espionage: An Intelligence Primer, and Jeff Stein, wrote in ‘SpyTalk’ that “Dong is, or was, a longtime official in China’s Ministry of State Security (MSS), also known as the Guoanbu.”
“MSS, described as one of the most secretive intelligence organizations in the world, is the civilian intelligence, security, and secret police agency of the People’s Republic of China (PRC). It is responsible for counterintelligence, foreign intelligence and political security. Its military counterpart is the Intelligence Bureau of the Joint Staff.

“He was a spy in China’s secret service, known as Guoanbu, and became the head of counter-intelligence, or spy-catching, after being promoted to the post of vice-minister in April 2018.
“Jingwei allegedly gave the US DIA information on the bioweapons under development at the Wuhan Lab, a lab Dr. Anthony Fauci vouches for and donates our tax money to.

I just want to get this straight:
Jo has posted a number of reports on the nasty vascular damage done on many folks by Covid-19.
From my viewing of a number of recent videos on the topic, the consensus now seems to be that most of this vascular damage is caused by the spike protein on the virus.
The assumption of the mRNA developers appears to be that these spike proteins would remain “anchored” to individual cells and be collected by elements of the immune system for disposal.
What I am hearing now is that this assumption is proving to be wrong, and that the spike proteins are “cleaved off” the cell and are thus free to travel throughout the body via the bloodstream.
https://tinyurl.com/nthdzw9
This would account for such variety in post-vaccination pathologies, from heart, to brain to kidneys, etc.
So, if the mRNA vaccines teach your cells how to become spike protein factories, and the spike proteins produced are destructive to the body, aren’t these “vaccines” potentially do the same work as the Covid-19 virus itself?
Where am I going wrong?
190
Pretty much nailed it.

Yes already seen that video. Just confirmed what I already suspected, hence the reason I am un-needled – as well as the fact covid is an almost irrelevant illness for healthy people, no vaccination could ever be justified, let alone a new type developed in haste.
Our gov. has lied from the start and withheld and deliberately misled over the nature of the jab, the thoroughness of the testing (or not) etc. etc. They decided on our behalves that it was in our interest to be denied informed consent and to be psychologically manipulated.
The ‘success’ of the vaccine if indeed it proves to be one on balance, does not make the most reckless experiment and gamble ever taken with the lives of the population remotely acceptable.

He has discovered that conservatives all think differently and independently and the left are a cult, a country club mentality. And they lie and conform aggressively and they cancel. A herd mentality. And you are not allowed think differently or independently. It is forbidden. My concern with the left is the question of who is leading the herd? Who invented CRT, BLM, AntiFA,Global Warming, LGBITWTF, trans rights, unlimited migration rights without qualitication? Everyone on the extreme demands rights, rights which are denied to most Americans who end up paying for it all in so many ways. A bit like the UN. Funded by the US. Run by China.
60
Who is leading the herd?
This is an important question. It deserves a thread.
20
Yes and No. Might be the wrong question. Given there is so much money and so many benefits in sponging off The People, in personal corruption, as well as for foreign powers and multinational corporates, the answer surely involves not one leader but a temporary and changing cabal.
While they have common interests in reducing the People’s power, and in centralizing power (because it is easier to corrupt) — if they get control they will compete and turn on each other in an instant.
But if people were to say find that President Xi studied Mao and Marxism and used those tenets to set up BLM or just support “Class warfare” (by color) it would be very useful in uniting the centre right and the centre left and that would be powerful.
30
Not sure the relationship of BLM and Marxism, that sounds highly unlikely, but Xi explicitly studied Mao as his generation was educated by a system still heavily influenced by Mao.
12
As Jo suggests above, there may not be a single leader or group. (Fun as it is to blame it all on George or Xi).
Much of the current nonsense may be the result of an accidental convergence of interests, or, it may not be accidental but contrived. Such implies significant intelligence, no denial of that from me, it is ethics that is lacking, there is even an absence of ‘enlightened’ self-interest.

Robert Felix of the Web site Ice Age Now passed away. It was apparently sudden.

I was at his web site last month and intended to acquire a copy of his work on Magnetic Reversals.

I’m sorry to hear he’s no longer with us. I’ve read his books and was a regular visitor to Ice Age Now.

Very sorry to hear that. There has been no activity there since he posted about his illness. RIP Robert.

The Guardian Demands More Nuclear Power to Fight Climate Change, Slams Plant Closures

So ‘clean’ energy is no wood, no coal, no gas, no oil and now no nuclear? Sounds like Australia.
They just expect everyone else will pay for their impossible fantasies. They would also ban horses and oxen and donkeys of course, hay burners. As long as people put up with these ridiculous demands from sheltered over paid spoilt inner city privileged ratbags, we can never make sensible decisions for the good of all.
Perhaps the Greens can move to China and enjoy real freedom. Or Africa. Or Guatemala. All their money comes from selling iron, coal and gas overseas but they never get their hands dirty. Their precious fantasy ‘clean’ energy is nothing of the sort. And Climate Change does not exist, unless someone could point it out in the last 33 years? Where? How much longer do we have to wait?
60
And we will protect ourselves with $250Billion Green nuclear submarines in 2050, crippled so they don’t hurt anyone and with Green diesel engines so they are entirely useless. Too bad we don’t have any diesel in the country which will save lives by preventing any defence.
60
Hi Jo. You need an “eleven” option on your likes!
Cheers,
Speedy

There is no such thing as “clean energy”, just like there is (apart from wood and water) no such thing as “renewable energy”. The ALP/Greens/ABC/BOM et al are just a bunch of ignoramuses. What do they think Solar panels/batteries/wind turbines are made from… THIN AIR? And what do they think keeps social media and their smartphones active…again, thin air? No sorry, it is Paladium, a METAL. When these idiots get into their thick skulls that a modern industrial society depends on METALS for its existence (CO2 atmospheric levels being irrelevant), then perhaps society will advance (but I won’t hold my breath).

More Alarmist claptrap from The Guardian and The Verge.
No, NASA, Earth Has NOT Been Trapping Heat at an Alarming New Rate
https://climaterealism.com/2021/06/no-nasa-earth-has-not-been-trapping-heat-at-an-alarming-new-rate/
Per Dr. Roy Spencer: “The main problem I have is with the media reporting of these results. The animated graph in the Verge article shows a planetary energy imbalance of about 0.5 W/m2 in 2005 increasing to about 1.0 W/m2 in 2019.”
Per Nasa’s own publication: “Overall, TSI varies by approximately 0.1 percent—or about 2 watts per square meter between the most and least active part of an 11-year solar cycle.” So the claimed “unprecedented heat trapping” is half of the naturally occurring variation in solar intensity.

Sweden’s government topples as prime minister loses no-confidence vote
Interesting to note that for the first time, Sweden’s PM lost a no confidence vote. What’s even more interesting is the way it happened. The Communist Left Party, the far-Right Sweden Democrats, and the right-wing Moderate and Christian Democrat parties all combined to vote against the leader. I see a pattern that might be reflected here in Australia. The mainstream parties have lost their way and the people are finally becoming restless.

Good catch, the idea has resonance in Israel, a loose collective.

So many People who want to get rich quick.
Society is a complex thing. There are the vast majority who wake up each morning and go to work. Around 90% of people.
Then there are the few who want to get rich quick. They are the problem as the 1% who control who gets rich have all the power. They may wield that inadvertently or with malice but wield it they do, always to their advantage.
Until society curbs the get rich mentality we will be plagued by the consequences.
Regards from an OLD man.
