The Climate March in NY was another outpouring of innumerate frustration. Marc Morano went to the Climate March, despite being listed as the hate figure of the day and found no one was even bothering to hide the real aim, which was pro-socialist and anti-capitalist. Naomi Klein even admitted that the science is irrelevant, and she would be supporting all the same “solutions” even if the science was wrong.
During the panel discussion, Klein was asked: “Even if climate change issue did not exist, you would be calling for same structural changes. Klein responded: ‘Yeah.’
Following the panel, Climate Depot asked Klein if she would support all the same climate “solutions” even if the science was wrong.
“Yes, I would still be for social justice even if there was not climate change. Yes, you caught me Marc,” Klein answered sarcastically as she abruptly ended the interview
Naomi Klein’s new book is titled “This Changes Everything: Capitalism vs. The Climate”. The enemy is “Capitalism” — hence big-coal is a target and big-dependent-renewables are her friends. It’s all about wealth redistribution. Since Klein has a crippling problem with numbers, she would prefer a world where people get ahead by networking and speaking, and not by competition to produce things that other people want. It makes sense in a self-serving kind of way.
Meanwhile Robert F. Kennedy Jr. wants to jail his political opponents.
When you can’t win an argument with persuasion, it’s the obvious next step.
New York City – Environmental activist Robert F. Kennedy Jr. lamented that there were no current laws on the books to punish global warming skeptics. . “I wish there were a law you could punish them with. I don’t think there is a law that you can punish those politicians under,” Kennedy told Climate Depot in a one-on-one interview during the People’s Climate March. The interiew was conducted for the upcoming documentary Climate Hustle.
Kennedy Jr. accused skeptical politicians of “selling out the public trust.” “Those guys are doing the Koch Brothers bidding and are against all the evidence of the rational mind, saying global warming does not exit. They are contemptible human beings. I wish there were a law you could punish them with. I don’t think there is a law that you can punish those politicians under.”
Kennedy saved his most venomous comments for the Koch Brothers, accusing them of “treason” for “polluting our atmosphere.”
“I think it’s treason. Do I think the Koch Brothers are treasonous, yes I do,” Kennedy explained.
“They are enjoying making themselves billionaires by impoverishing the rest of us. Do I think they should be in jail, I think they should be enjoying three hots and a cot at the Hague with all the other war criminals,” Kennedy declared.
“Do I think the Koch brothers should be tried for reckless endangerment? Absolutely, that is a criminal offence and they ought to be serving time for it,” he added.
Was that 310,000 or 120,000 people? Do lies matter?
The organisers bragged that 310,000 people went, but even sympathetic fans on their side who liked the rally are saying that “generously” it could only have been 120,000 at most. After counting heads with timers, and doing a decent calculation, Fire on the Mountain (I wish I had a name to credit) said “No way in hell were there 310,000 people on that march. “
It’s nice to see someone good with numbers for a change, and whom I can agree with at least on some points in this climate debate:
“I think that whoever is pumping this number is doing the movement a real disservice. I have written before about why I think inflated demo counts are such a bad thing, including this rather passionate short piece here at FotM. You may think that it’s harmless, a “little white lie,” but consider that this whole movement bases itself on the accuracy of numbers, numbers about global warming. It behooves us to be extra-careful about this.”
Good luck to Fire on the Mountain with trying to get some rational numbers into the climate debate. When whoever wrote that post finds out how hopeless the numbers are on ocean heat, on assumptions for positive feedback and how proof of man-made global warming comes from man-made adjustments, they might find realize that unbounded exaggeration of crowd numbers is the tip of the iceberg-of-lies. The crowd numbers were only tripled. The positive feedbacks have been exaggerated six-fold.
How many protesters were paid to turn up?
WattsUp reader Arvind found a Craigslist Ad to pay people to hand out flyers at the Climate March. Evidently passion for climate action is running so hot that they can’t find volunteers to pass out flyers and need to offer $50?
