University Experts say climate change causes Earthquakes. Let’s stop quakes with solar panels then?

By Jo Nova

Blame Exxon for the dead children of Turkey, eh? It’s not the corrupt building codes, the crustal plates, or the solar magnetic field.  Climate change sets off earthquakes, you know.

A High Priest Ecologist has read the chicken entrails and prophesies that things will get worse. Your car creates earthquakes, volcanoes and tsunamis — unless it’s an EV. It’s hard to satirize this, it’s too stupid.

Climate change is triggering more earthquakes. Big Oil’s interests are a factor

By Prof İbrahim Özdemir, UN advisor, Euronews

It’s not just earthquakes — it’s tsunamis and volcanoes too:

We do not know for sure what triggered this horrific natural disaster, but we do know there is growing scientific evidence that climate change increases the risk of such tremors, together with tsunamis and volcanic eruptions.

Here comes Occult Science:

“If a fault is primed or ready to rupture, all that is needed is the pressure of a handshake to set if off […] Environmental changes associated with rapid and accelerating climate breakdown could easily do the job,” professor of geophysics and climate hazards at University College London Bill McGuire pointed out back in 2012.

If a fault is “primed to rupture” and the pressure of shaking hands will set it off, then presumably semi-trailers in Turkey are a no-no. I mean, if the Big One wasn’t set off by climate change at 4.17am, then it would have been by the Ford F-Max at 4:18. Do these professors even read what they write?

And biblical hellfire will reign:

Furthermore, NASA scientists acknowledged that glaciers retreating due to global warming have been triggering earthquakes in Alaska in the last decades.

The impact is not limited to the Arctic. As melting glaciers change the distribution of weight across the Earth’s crust, the resulting “glacial isostatic adjustment” drives changes in plate tectonics that could lead to more earthquakes, awaken volcanoes and even affect the movement of the Earth’s axis.

Melting gigatons of ice might well affect crust plate tectonics, but solar activity is much more likely to be melting the ice, not the air-conditioners of Sydney, or the hair-dryers of London —  in which case all the carbon credits in the world won’t stop a single seismic event. The effort to shield us with windmills will look like necromancers shouting at the breeze.

And occult science flows straight into tribal hate

Earthquake, crack.Everything fossil fuel companies do is a crime against humanity. They are the “evil spirits” of the climate cult. A google search for “climate activists launch law suits” gets 3 million results. But when fossil fuel companies target 150 environmental activists it’s proof that they run the world:

A series of investigations and legal proceedings over the years have shown how fossil fuel giants call the shots: they use and abuse the rule of law to escape accountability for environmental pollution, resource-grabbing and cronyism. Those objecting are often silenced.

Just over the last decade, fossil fuel companies in the United States have targeted over 150 environmental activists with lawsuits.

Oh woe is us, say the purveyors of nonsense. They can’t persuade the world to follow their soothsayers, so they feel silenced and victimized if they can’t turn off the taps on major gas pipelines instead:

Meanwhile, dozens of US states are in the process of enacting “critical infrastructure” legislation, increasing criminal penalties against activists protesting pipelines that will wreck the planet.

Professor İbrahim Özdemir is shamelessly exploiting the deaths in Turkey to promote his own career

Here is his byline:

Professor İbrahim Özdemir is a UN advisor and an ecologist teaching at Üsküdar University. He has served as Director-General at the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Turkish Ministry of Education and was a leading member in drafting the Islamic Declaration on Global Climate Change endorsed by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, UNFCCC.

He is selling his own snake oil.

To us here this is utterly stupid. But at “our ABC” and within the Greens etc this is unchallenged scientific fact.

We have reached a totally idiotic and dangerous situation in our society, where such a ridiculous and false article gets reasonable airplay. It should never have been published or passed on, its so wrong and fails on so many levels, but here we are where it is readily accepted.

Our future is going to be very very bad. Unfortunately most of our population have now outsourced their thinking to incompetent and dangerous “experts” and are about to find out that the laws of nature and the economic realities cannot be ignored and are going to deliver a very nasty result.

All the idiocy everywhere culminating in a very bad situation. Saw this thread today and felt it has some very clear points about how and where our ‘perfectly good civilization’ is heading. It is about the USA but I think it applies across the western world.

“In the US, there’s a rising incidence of industrial accidents and construction embarrassments.

      Ohio chemical explosion
      Airline runway incidents
      Failed high speed rail
      Fires from mismanaged forests
      Million dollar toilets
      $300M bus lanes
      $3.5B subways

      Why is this happening?
1/ One answer is that the only type of maintenance that’s even semi-prestigious in American society is software maintenance.

That is, it’s not prestigious to be a plumber, mechanic, or electrician.

You can make money, but it doesn’t have cultural cachet.

And so maintenance suffers. ” (the rest of the thread is well considered too)

I saw a recent photo of hundreds of wind turbines in Germany; they littered the countryside. I wonder how much they interfere with the natural flow of wind and how that may impact other natural processes. Rather than causing an earthquake they cause increased warming by restricting the cooling effects of breezes.

Here’s the deaths from Volcanoes 1500s to 2017 from OWI Data. The links on the right are active so you can isolate Volcano deaths to highlight that single graph. And don’t forget that the more recent data is very accurate and earlier data ( centuries ago) would’ve missed a lot of the deaths.

Anyway what they’re telling you are just more of their LIES and CON TRICKS. AGAIN population in 1900 under 2 billion and before 1800 less than 1 billion. THINK about the DATA and then please WAKE UP.
Today there are 8 billion people and the world is definitely a much safer place. WAKE UP.

Going back a bit earlier: “In December 115AD, an earthquake, followed by a tsunami allegedly hit the border between Turkey and Syria, killing around 260,000 people and destroying the city of Antioch. In the year 526, about 250,000 people are believed to have died in another deadly quake in Antioch.“.

The 1939 Erzincan earthquake in Turkiye was magnitude-7.8, the same as this year’s. Regrettably, a similar number of people were killed this year as in 1939.

It seems there is nothing that “climate change”(TM) isn’t blamed for.

I often wonder “what will they blame next” on climate change.

I no longer believe there is any phenomenon too ridiculous for them to blame on climate change.

David, I think you and all the readers are missing the point. This is GOOD news!

I used to think that earthquakes were caused by shifting tectonic plates and there is nothing we can do to stop them from moving.

Now we know that if we can stop the climate from changing (and we can) we can eliminate earthquakes and save many lives.

Throw in all the volcanos and it gets even better.

The post and comments above show clearly that organised humanity has an existential problem of massive proportions.

Government no longer serves the people, it is absolutely and completely beyond repair.

    The question;

how do we tear this wreckage down and build anew.

Over the last three years, we the people have been lied to, stolen from, jabbed, misdirected, De-educated and subjected to incredible psychological distortions that have ruined lives and imprisoned millions.

A moral society would demand a real accounting that would see the likes of Schwab, Soros and their underlings imprisoned and their crimes called for what they are; crimes against humanity.

Perhaps we should focus our attention on the holders of the massive debts that have been generated.
The financial system is out of control and is set to implode in the near future.
When the old, serious money start playing with the world- War here, Terrorism there, reduce education to feelings and pronouns, encourage economic refugees, promote futile barren sexual lifestyles, incite abortion and euthanasia, foster hard drug use with fatalities. The old money is now in plain sight- Vangaurd, Black Rock, State Street. I wonder what would happen if these were forced to demutualise?

This is a good source for all things earthquakes:

    https://www.usgs.gov/programs/earthquake-hazards/earthquakes

I did a search for all earthquakes of magnitude 7.5 or greater since 1850, and came up with 782 events – a surprisingly large number (for moi).

Ramping up to magnitude 8 or greater, there were still 162 events – magnitude 8 and above is huge. Peak mag 8 activity was between 1889-1921, when 60 events were recorded. Magnitude 8 events after 1921 have continued through to now, but just like hurricane/tornado etc frequencies, the number of events since the 1889-1921 peak has reduced.

I therefore conclude that “climate change” has reduced the number of truly devastating quakes (/s of course)

    180

    • #

Rowjay, thanks for that. How did you get the quake history back to 1850?
I’m just curious — there are no Big 7+ quakes seemingly at the poles. I mean there seems to be recordings of earthquakes in very remote places like the deep Atlantic ridge or the middle of the Indian ocean, yet there is nothing on the fault lines in the Arctic, and not much on the fault lines around the Antarctic. Iceland has a fault line right through it, but no big quakes. I thought there was a plate line along the west of the Antarctic peninsula — there is a line of volcanoes there under the Amundsen Sea…

      60

      • #

I used the search feature at the following link:

        https://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/search/

Interestingly, the Spanish had usable records for South America back to the 1500’s.
North America only from the 1700’s.

The crust is too thin across Iceland and it is almost perpetually spreading apart rather than colliding and subducting one plate beneath another. You need a depth of actual solid material to accumulate stress and potential distortion for a sudden slip/earthquake to occur.

Banks now cause earthquakes too: yesterday it was announced ANZ & ASB (both Australian-owned) raked in humongous profits over the last quarter… later that evening a 6.3 rocked the North Island, its epicentre offshore & NW of the capital. Therefore, BAN THE BANKS!

The zombie-cult apocalypse of illusion is here and now – if only we all rode bicycles like Chinese did when I was there in 1986, we’d have no storms, no floods, no droughts, no earthquakes – a veritable workers’ paradise – which is what xx-spurts are calling for here in the Shaky Isles in 2023. I’m thinking ‘the injection’ has set-off an infection in the already mushy brains of half the population.

With the navy sending ships to isolated coastal towns, the airforce flying in choppers, the army sending in troops in Unimogs (oversized 4x4s), and portable generators being the sole source of power in many places, how do these cultists marry their childish utopian visions to the LIFE-SAVING properties of petrol, diesel, gas, etc. INXS were prophets when they sang about ‘Su!c!de Blondes’ – apologies to depressed fair-heads.

Coal and ‘climate’ didn’t cause this destruction – decades of stupid decisions, council bureaucracy, sub-par road construction and LACK OF MAINTENANCE are the guilty partners. Word is (yet to be confirmed) the pump-station on one of Napier’s flood-plain rivers stopped, causing the river to burst its banks, because someone forgot to top-up the diesel before the storm arrived.

I believe that IS the plan.

Why else would they ban safe treatments or prophylaxis for covid?

Why else would there be a war against energy causing people in cold climates to die from cold?

Why else would there be a war against the food supply, that is, promoting poverty foods like insects instead of meat plus the war against what Leftists call “nitrogen” (sic) by which they mean nitrogenous fertiliser.

There is the case of the Melbourne woman who is being denied a heart transplant because she is unvaxxed. Karl Stefanovic tells the story of Vicki Deraderian and Nick Coatsworth who stands by the rules even though Vicki is scared of vaccine side effects. Apparently Karl is so alarmed by the side effects that he has gone from vaccine proponent to questioning their efficacy and safety. Vicki rightly points out that should she get Covid there are therapeutics available. So the former Deputy Chief Health Officer tells Vicki she can die from the vaccine or not having the transplant; her choice.

Here’s another cause of “climate change”.

Some Leftists promote veganism to “save the planet”. Others want non-Elites to eat insects instead of real meat.

A vegan diet causes more gas and therefore more warming according to Leftist claims. So best not to eat at all.

(There is nothing new about the reported finding that vegan diets make people produce more methane gas but I always love watching Leftist heads explode when faced with a contradiction or paradox.)

The United Nations was a dream of President Rooseveldt during WWII, a forum to prevent war.

So what is happening today in Ukraine? What about the stated intention of China to invade democratic Taiwan which was never China.

The Secretary General Antonio Gutteres is now warning the world of the dangers of the imminent catastrophic rapid sea level rise. Why?

And he is telling us to move to Wind and Solar power, the only hope for the planet. And a hundred million electric cars a year, which is beyond world resources in copper alone. Mining will have to explode with all the costs in fossil fuels. Why?

Why isn’t the UN doing its job? What are those 40,000 full time people doing? It is not a world government in waiting and seems to be the plaything of the CCP. Certainly the WHO is. And the IPCC is a front for destroying Western Democracies. Global Warming is not happening, sea levels always change and very, very slowly, Holland is already in places seven meters under sea level and what on earth is Climate Change?

The UN was established to replace the failed League of Nations after W W11 as an international Peace keeping body
but as it expanded is mission it has less time for peace keeping. Now, in its expanded centres world wide
      it is
busy with micro management of citizens’lives and susstainable development. Herewith the UN initiates susstainable development

It is very comprehensive. Here’s just a glimpse of its reach.Following the Chapter 1 Preamble, Agenda 21 is set out in four sections.

Section 1, Social and Economic Dimensions: This section covers us humans and what we may consume…eat …use, where we may live and how we are to be allowed to develop. Significant chapters, Chapter 2, ‘International cooperation to accelerate sustainable development for all,’ Chapter 4, ‘Changing consumption patterns for sustainable development.’ Chapter 5, ‘Demographics and dynamics.’ Chapter 7. ‘Promoting habitable human settlement,’ and Chapter 8, ‘Integrating environment and development in decision making.’

Section 11, Conservation and Management of Resources Development: Well this is certainly comprehensive, fourteen chapters of precept and regulation, a new world order alright, bureaucrat control over air, land, and all living things thereon, our energy use, control of seas, rivers and other waterways, management of all waste products, ‘waste’ denoted by them to include CO2, a basis of life on earth, without it no plants and no us.

Section 111, Strengthening the Role of Major Groups: Getting everyone on board, but not as described by that UN first General Assembly in 1948, Everyone has the right to take part in the government of the country, directly or through freely chosen representatives.

Agenda 21 is not about individual involvement in decision making, it is about your role as part of a collective, you are subsumed by your role ( in which the planned Delphi process prevails, plenary discussion but the outcomes are foreordained,) you are a member of the women’s group, an indigenous group, a worker group, or your role is defined as part of a business group, a science-technology group or farmers’ group, some ironic 1984 newspeak here ‘strengthening the role of farmers,’ as more and more regulations are being imposed on land use.

It needs to be disbanded except for the basic diplomacy centre role and the Security council.

All the rest is woke rubbish about a one world government. Hitler, Stalin, Tojo and now Xi, the UN, EU and WEF all had the same idea.

When mere countries have populations of hundreds of millions a one world government is the enrichment of the few by 8 billion people, not
the prevention of nuclear war. There is no expectation that making unelected bureaucrats rich will do anything for world peace.

As for Australia, our nominal donation is $1Million a year. But the other costs are amazing

“In 2008–09, Australia contributed a total of $153.4 million to sixteen UN peacekeeping operations, funding which is administered by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. During the same period, the majority of Australian contributions to international organisations supported the work of UN organs and agencies (over $89 million).” So at least an additional $240million over 2 years.

We need to be funding our neighbours, not China and the UN. And we had no trade war with China. They punished us and stole our coal.

The City of Yarra run by the Communist Greens has introduced a BIN TAX. I suppose a ROAD TAX is next.

If the beorgeoisie can afford the ridiculous rates, they can employ their own contractors. Councillors have woke wars to fight and friends to reward. The City of Port Phillip and others have publicly banned nuclear weapons. Good work. I feel safer. I wonder if they have told Xi?

BTW here’s a number of countries’ death rates from fires since 1990 and the death rates from Africa.

“The global sea level has risen eight to nine inches since 1880 and continues to rise at an increasing rate, according to the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. By the end of the century, water levels are expected to have risen at least one foot even if carbon emissions remain relatively low.”

So eight inches over 144 years means twelve inches in another 78 years but the way this is written it implies another foot when in fact a simple ratio comes up with 11″. Beware, sea levels will be (on average) 4″ higher (100mm) in 78 years. For places like London where the tide variation alone is 7 metres, this is another terrifying 100mm.

And the Dead Sea on the border of Israel and Jordan is already 430 metres below sea level. That extra 100mm by 2100 must be terrifying.
Those UN people know their stuff. The mass migration to Israel will start soon. If only for the record high air pressure which means hotter coffee and other health benefits.

I have been to the Dead Sea or ים המלח Yam hamMelaḥ (Sea of Salt) in Hebrew.

The water level continues (for the momemt) to drop partly due to irrigation demands of the Jordan River but the level has also risen and fallen substantially over the longer term due to natural variations in climate and tectonic activity raising or lowering the level of the rift valley in which it resides.

There is a proposal from the World Economic Forum -so it can’t be good- to connect the Red Sea to the Dead sea and desalinate the water and discharge the brine into the Dead Sea to replenish it. However, the composition of the Dead Sea is different to seawater so that would change the chemical makeup. It is therefore a bad thing.

Yes, I have been there too. A big drop down to the new level. Nearly drowned wearing crocs with their unexpected bouyancy.
The Dead to Red was going well until Jordan pulled out. I expect it is continuing. There was also a desalination plant which was going to offset the cost by contracted fresh water sales to Jordan.

As for the 30% salt in the landlocked Dead Sea, it needs the dilution and the level needs to climb to something like the old levels. The resorts in Jordan now have a 15 metre drop to the water. And at those salt levels, nothing can live. It’s as dead as it can be. Salt mining. The Southern half is all salt mining and the ICL section alone is 80 km2.

The Dead Sea is high in potassium and bromide whereas sea water has lots of sodium and chloride, which as you say, will dramatically change the composition over time. There are large scale salt works that depend on harvesting these minerals, which will be badly impacted by this proposed change. But for the WEF, well, who cares. Just do anything you please, stuff things up and move on, assigning blame to others…

The Dead Sea is also very deep at about 300 metres and restoring the old water levels by 15 metres would drop potassium and bromide concentrations by a tiny 5% and the salts resource by 0%. According to the website, the resource is effectively unlimited. Nothing is changed by adding sea water except it remains a viable tourist resource apart from looking so Dead and evaporation provides a different environment for the valley by increasing humidity.

And it doesn’t stop warmists buying expensive properties close to the sea, e.g. Gates, Flannery, Obama, Rudd, etc..

Former Prime Minister Kevin Rudd and his wife Therese Rein have been revealed as the mystery buyers of former tennis player Pat Rafter’s home, which they purchased for a whopping $17 million back in May.

The beachfront Sunshine Coast property boasts seven bedrooms, and was snapped up by Betty’s Burgers & Concrete Co founders David Hales and wife Louise in 2018 for $15.2 million.

Rudd doesn’t need seven bedrooms. Six should be given to homeless people.

Members and Senators in the Australian Federal Parliament are required to submit a return to the Register of Interests, every year.

You can do your own audit. The details are here:

          Members:

          https://www.aph.gov.au/Senators_and_Members/Members/Register

          Senators:

          https://www.aph.gov.au/Parliamentary_Business/Committees/Senate/Senators_Interests/Register_of_Senators_Interests

Senior Public Servants are also required to submit a return of the financial interests to the Secretary of the Department in which they are employed.

In the case of Rudd and his millions, these came from the business operated by his wife – a very successful business-woman.

          Is there corruption?

Yes. And, it generally gets found out. Politicians so involved go to gaol. There are some in gaol as we speak. The beauty of a free=press means that journalists can have a field day investigating those politicians who they suspect of being corrupt.

Climate change is triggering more earthquakes.
… Prof İbrahim Özdemir, UN advisor

I can’t defend that. It is beyond hypocrisy, it is truly evil that a person such as this professor uses his street cred on a catastrophically terrified and enormously damaged population to blame atmospheric CO2 concentrations for magma movements deep below the crust.

As far as melting glaciers causing sudden, large-scale reworking of existing tectonic fault zones is concerned, the global seismic network says B/S. Very minor slippages (<1-1.5 on the scale) are recorded, far too weak to cause quakes at depth on the 6-8 scale, or "unblock" magma chambers for volcanoes to wallow in. For that to happen requires an asteroid strike of the dinosaur extinction level.

That ABC journos, and other silly lefties, believe that tectonic movements start at the surface and work their way right down through the crust to disturb magma convection at mantle level is simply a measure of their preferred geoscientific ignorance. As previously pointed out, lefty journos and politicians hate geoscientists.

    >”glaciers retreating due to global warming” – NASA scientists on current melt.

What a hoot. NZ glaciers filled valleys in the South Island 14,000 years ago in an ice age climate then reached maximum retreat about 6000 years ago “when the climate was warmer than now”. Advanced a little in a cooler climate, now retreating again in a climate still cooler than 6000 years ago:

    Glaciers in New Zealand

Page 4. Retreating ice and the glacier legacy

From about 14,000 years ago, as the climate warmed, ice age glaciers shrank rapidly. But 12,000–11,000 years ago they advanced again, building prominent rocky moraines such as the Waiho Loop. This semi-circular ridge marks how far the Franz Josef Glacier advanced into the flats of the Waiho River.

Since then, the glaciers of the Southern Alps have continued an irregular retreat. They reached their minimum size about 6,000 years ago, when the climate was warmer than now. There have been minor advances during cooler periods such as the ‘Little Ice Age’ between the 15th and mid-19th century. Between 1962 and 2018, New Zealand glaciers lost 38% of their volume.

    https://teara.govt.nz/en/glaciers-and-glaciation/page-4

Ok, the current melt is “minor” compared to the melt that occurred 14,000 – 6,000 years ago which at maximum melt was “warmer than now”.

Those unnamed “NASA scientists” don’t seem to have a frame of reference beyond recent history. This is not an isolated problem, the current NZ flooding has exposed an ignorance of the time-frame of geologic processes.

      >”the current NZ flooding has exposed an ignorance of the time-frame of geologic processes”

Hearing a lot of “nothing like this in living memory” and “nothing like this since I’ve been living here”.

The fertile Esk River flood plain which is just north of Napier has been inundated, flooding houses orchards farms and fruits crops and livestock. How was it formed? By flooding. The region is just north of Napier in white on the following Geologic and Nuclear Sciences (GNS) map:

      New Zealand Geology
      https://data.gns.cri.nz/geology/

Click on the white patch just above Napier:

      Feature information
      NZ 1:1M Geological Unit
      Plot symbol lQa
Name Late Quaternary alluvium and colluvium
Description Unconsolidated to poorly consolidated mud, sand, gravel and peat.
      Geologic history Late Quaternary
Simple name Zealandia Megasequence Terrestrial and Shallow Marine Sedimentary Rocks (Neogene)
      Absolute minimum age 0.00
      Absolute maximum age 0.12

      Also – Quaternary https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quaternary

Age units are millions of years so 0.12 is 120,000 years ago (Holocene 11,700). So that flood plain has taken 120,000 years to form and the process is continuing.

Same for the much larger Canterbury Plains in the South Island (see map) – also subject to flooding.

Huge gains to made on these fertile plains but at huge risk, which is known:

      Hawke’s Bay Flood Risk Areas
      https://catalogue.data.govt.nz/dataset/hawkes-bay-flood-risk-areas

But NZ Green politicians are having nothing of that (see next).

Folks need to go away and read up on a phenomenon called “Isostatic Rebound”. CONTINENTAL scale vertical movement of land after the mass of several Kilometres depth of ice is removed, say, when exiting an Ice Age. There is a catch: land “bouncing back” from depression of that scale WILL alter the “balance” of the spinning planet to some extent There is a possible recipe for “climate change causing earthquakes and volcanoes; not anything to do with firing up the SUV.. Just a note; if ALL of the Arctic sea ice melted, there would be ZERO change in sea level, because the melt-water has the SAME displacement as the floating ice.

BTW, GLOBAL sea levels are MUCH lower during Ice ages Thus, as we are currently STILL coming out of the last one, one might reasonably expect some rise in sea levels. But the planet is NOT a perfect sphere with everything equally distributed. If it were, it would basically be covered with a relatively shallow sea , and MAYBE a bit of sea-ice at the poles.

However, this is obviously not the case. In several places around the planet, there are “Mean Sea Level’ markers carved into rock faces on the shoreline. Most of these were carved in the last few hundred years and most also appear to now a few feet ABOVE current Mean Sea Level.

    Seas falling, land rising, both?

    80

      Seas falling, land rising, both?

      Agreed, Bruce, and we’ll said.

In some places land is rising, other places it is falling for various reasons (including water table dropping die to extraction). There may be some contribution of rising sea level as the deeper ocean warms from the Little Ice Age and the water volume expands.

Overall once-glaciated land in Europe and North America is still rising due to isostatic rebound from the last glaciation event, as you say; all due to continental isostacy.

Some Pacific islands claimed to be sinking or drowning are nothing more than temporary WW2 airstrips constructed with landfill shipped in from Queensland. Nature is taking its course and washing away the landfill that shouldn’t be there. Plus, it’s never a good idea to set up a settlement on a coral atoll.

Most of these warmists find it unthinkable that the world was once a very different place than it is todsy.

All this is very basic stuff and I find it remarkable that so few people know it these days.

Self-righteous academics do little for me but folk who are looking for serious solutions I do find interesting. A Mr Guiliani in L’Aquila predicted the big quake in 1999. He went to bed fully dressed with all doors and windows fixed open so he and his family could escape. The week prior, a judge had put a gag order on the poor sod for raising unnecessary alarm. Amazingly, only 300 died as their masonry homes collapsed on them while they slept. I note that the emergency response teams had thousands of body-bags on hand. There was a good piece in The Guardian (UK) about it.
On 3rd Feb 2023 a Dutchman, Frank Hoogerbeets tweeted about a big quake in the S Turkey/Syria region. He said that sooner or later a M7.5 will hit the region. His Solar System Geometry Survey talks about planets lining up. Worth a gander. ( ://ssgeos.org)
