Preventable Pandemic indeed: WHO helped infect the world, kill 3 million people, now wants $50b?

In 2020, the WHO did not protect even one country, but now says they just need more money and more power. The WHO should be disbanded, it failed at the one most important job it was set up to do  —  stop pandemics.

It’s only a year too late, but the WHO is finally telling people they could avoid deadly pandemics. A new report is out, with former New Zealand PM Helen Clark admitting only that the World Health Organisation was a week too late in calling it an emergency. After that tiny mini-culpa, then she blames slow nations for “wasting the month of February”. Though Clark seems to have forgotten the same stupid nations were all following WHO’s advice at the time.

This is what failure looks like —  Tedros, the WHO Director General on Jan 29, last year

When he could have saved the world, he was being a one man Xi Jinping fan club. Listen to this shameless rave:

…Tedros said it is admirable that the Chinese government has shown its solid political resolve and taken timely and effective measures in dealing with the epidemic. President Xi’s personal guidance and deployment show his great leadership capability, Tedros said.

He said that China has released information in an open and transparent manner, identified the pathogen in a record-short time and shared the genetic sequence of the novel coronavirus in a timely manner with the WHO and other countries.

China’s measures are not only protecting its people, but also protecting the people in the whole world, he said.

Tedros Adhanom

Tedros Adhanom

So the WHO was the main enabler of bioweapons

The West wastes $5 billion dollars every year on an organization so corrupt it has been captured and turned into a Chinese advertising agency that directly works against the interests of the Western nations that fund it.

Here’s Helen Clark, forgetting:

“The WHO didn’t get enough information quickly enough. “

If only they had a twitter account, they could have seen the carnage live?

So many delays but we also looked in our report at the month of February when most countries took a wait and see approach rather than aggressively moving to either keep the disease out or contain the spread and that proved to be very, very harmful as well.”

As it is, Helen Clark has 1,000 words on the ABC and doesn’t say “border” once. And Leigh Sales helps her get away with it.

Admitting they failed (a tiny bit) is only a tool they use to demand more money

WHO ‘needs more powers’ says independent panel co-chair Helen Clark

For the world to prevent the next crisis, the Independent Panel for Pandemic Preparedness and Response recommends a more independent World Health Organization, a new council that would maintain a political commitment to pandemic preparedness and response, and a financing facility that can disburse $50-$100 billion at short notice.

Tedros is up for re-election and wants another five years to cover up for China.

As I said on Feb 1, there were $13b reasons why Tedros went out of his way to praise President Xi of China…

Follow the chain, or rather the Belt and Road

The WHO Director General is Tedros Adhanom of Ethiopia. From 2012 – 2016 he served as Minister of Foreign Affairs in the one party government that rules Ethiopia. This is the same party that borrowed billions from China to build a railway line, then struggles to pay it back.  In Africa, Ethiopia is the second largest debtor nation to China — owing $13 billion.  As Foreign Minister Adhanom praised China for African loans, looks like he was the man to line them up. We also note that the one-party ruling party of Ethiopia is called the Tigrayan People’s Liberation Front which was once a Marxist Lenninist far left group — labels it dropped after the Soviet Union collapsed. (Thanks Maurice for these tips).

A million people signed a petition to sack him but he’s still there.

Give us our money back!

TdeF in comments: It’s time to “Defund the UN”

If Democrats can demand the disbanding (defunding) of the police force and ICE for immigration, surely the world can demand the defunding of the massive so called United Nations. It has metastasized into an another evil group seeking world domination, as has the EU. We need UNEXIT. The only thing which should remain is the Security Council. The other 80,000 people can go home. Including Helen Clarke and the other Carbon Tax queens.

Video: Rand Paul Continues Fauci Feud; “He Could Be Culpable For The Entire Pandemic”

Paul was attacked by leftist media Wednesday for merely questioning Fauci’s extensive role in granting funding to the Wuhan Institute of Virology at a Senate hearing.

CNN’s Anderson Cooper declared that Paul should “have more respect at least for medical science.”

Paul hit back, noting that Fauci is lying about the NIH’s involvement in funding of the Wuhan lab.

Now in a further appearance on Fox And Friends, Paul has gone even deeper, accusing Fauci of being personally to blame for the global pandemic.

“The person they hired to investigate the lab for the WHO perspective is the guy who gave the money,” Paul urged.

“So NIH gave the money to EcoHealth. The head of EcoHealth – they got him to investigate whether Wuhan was doing anything inappropriate in their lab. But if they were then wouldn’t he be culpable?” The Senator questioned.

“Doesn’t he have a self interest in smoothing things over,” Paul continued, adding “I’m not saying he did cover things up but you wouldn’t appoint someone who is in the line of the supply chain of giving the money to them.”

“Ultimately here’s the rub. I don’t know whether it came from the lab. But who could be culpable? Dr. Fauci could be culpable for the entire pandemic!” Paul emphasised.

As Infowars reported in April 2020, the NIH awarded a $3.7 million grant to the Wuhan Institute of Virology to conduct coronavirus gain of function research.

Additionally, the results of the US-backed gain of function research at Wuhan was published in 2017 under the heading, “Discovery of a rich gene pool of bat SARS-related coronaviruses provides new insights into the origin of SARS coronavirus.”

Fauci has come under increased scrutiny as the NIH’s involvement with the Wuhan lab is being called into question.

Remember all the ‘videos’ of Chinese people randomly dropping dead of Covid in the streets, at the markets, on the buses…

The WHO’s director-general praised China for taking “unprecedented” steps to control the deadly virus. “I have never seen for myself this kind of mobilization,” he noted. “China is actually setting a new standard for outbreak response.”

All the while Wuhan residents were boarding planes to all port’s foreign.

The Chinese played up the threat, whilst the WHO played down the threat

Classic ‘Bad cop – Worse cop’ tactics.

I’m surprised by Helen Clarke. Maybe I should disown her — she’s not my favourite polly.

NZ didn’t close its borders or apply a strangle-hold — ah, shutdown — until April. That was almost too late!

Where was she then? Neither in hearing nor in sight!

Go away, Mizz Clarke. You weren’t voted Secretary General and that’s just as well.

Rather than giving them money, arrest warrants should be issued for crimes against humanity. Of course we all know that’s not possible in the world we live in today thanks to the excessive power held by those elites who perceive themselves to be above the law.

Ah but where was Paul in February when we needed a medical expert to counter Brendan Nelson and say “shut the borders”?

Where did Paul criticize China or Tedros? (And to be fair, perhaps he did, and I just haven’t seen it).

The only expert I know who did speak up is my old lecturer, the brilliant Prof John MacKenzie. He knows more about microbiology than anyone I’ve ever heard, led the first WHO expedition to China for SARS1, and was not afraid to speak up against the WHO. He’s retired, sadly, but is exactly the man we need. Here’s him in very early Feb 2020:

WHO expert says China too slow to report coronavirus cases
            Financial Times

The stinging criticism from Prof John Mackenzie, a member of the World Health Organization’s emergency committee, … labelled China’s response “reprehensible” and said it defied logic that there was no increase in new cases at the same time that Chinese officials were holding local political meetings in January.

I wrote about it last April: https://joannenova.com.au/2020/04/time-to-lockdown-china-for-its-dishonesty/

His name is still appearing on research papers… perhaps there’s hope?

I could listen to this man for hours. His lectures were funny, fascinating and always pithy. It was off the top of his head. A font of information. I nominate John Mack (but Paul Kelly would be better than Tedros).

      That is rubbish.

But of course, in the first place, it wasn’t classed as a pandemic. Tedros the crook sat on his hands in denial until mid March 2020 before he was dragged kicking and whinging to confront the reality.

It became a pandemic when China allowed people to jet out of Wuhan, around the globe, whilst they locked Wuhan down to national travel.
For mine that is culpability writ large. China knew the risks associated with this virus, protected themselves and deliberately allowed international travel.

…the same way the yearly (!) flu season is a pandemic…

Our leaders are mafiosi — not just incompetent, but obsessively criminal, to grab and retain all power — and our people are lemmings, completely helpless to protect themselves from a bug that is easily defeated, if confronted quickly; it takes individual knowledge to do that.

There has been no covid in the air for over a year, except where lame “lockdowns” have protected it from extinction.

Our “Intelligence” community is responsible for enabling the “pandemic”. All the little Faucis are just tools.

It was and is a war, against political freedom, not a pandemic. Period.

The WHO has no mandate to tell governments what to do. It is dependent upon the cooperation of affected governments. Unfortunately, when dealing with states like China that are sensitive to criticism, public pronouncements have to be circumspect otherwise the WHO might lose the cooperation that is desperately needed.
Once China realised that they had a serious problem, they eliminated community transmission of the virus by acting decisively. Unfortunately, many other countries did not which is why we are in the situation we are in today. There was a window of opportunity in early 2020 to eliminate the virus but we did not take it.

3 million people died of Covid worldwide, that’s it?

That is completely insignificant. That’s roughly how many people die from diarrehia every year, and nobody cares.

    73

    • #

Actually, it’s twice as many, and we do care. We have halved the number globally since 1990 despite population growth. And many of the things that increase the risk of diarrhea are systemic failures in Subsaharan Africa that are hard to fix like malnutrition, sewage, water infrastructure.

If people were dying of diarrohea because the Western hospitals ran out of beds, antibiotics, vaccines and clean water, the reaction would be ten times stronger because the deaths would be in children.

Yes, you are right, I misread the WHO mortality graph. My error, my bad.

But it still doesn’t change my opinion that 3 million deaths, and a questionable 3 million at that, is insignificant out of an average of 55-60 million deaths every year worldwide. Its little more than a rounding error.

Are those people who died with diarrhea or from diarrhea?

I agree Klem both our national suicide and motor vehicle deaths are well above the CV19 death toll and yet they receive only token attention from government.

Some time ago I tried to access annual total deaths for Britain and Australia. It was difficult, and I suspect made so deliberately to prevent an easy assessment of the overall effect of CV19.

The so called “data” on CV19 issues is not all that reliable and the massive spend on random CV19 “testing” to find more cases is very concerning.
Don’t mention the, vaxxination pandemic. Are the vaccines approved by the relevant national authorities, have all potential problems with the vaccines been checked, etc.

Or is the money and control the overriding thing.

The WHO was not only late but got the transmission wrong. It’s an airborne disease but they were focusing on disinfecting surfaces for the first 6 months. I don’t this they fully endorsed aerosol transmission until the fall of 2020. I think the US CDC did quite poorly in many of its recommendations early on but the WHO was much worse. I fear the WHO will become like the American primary and secondary education system where the more the system fails, the more money is demanded and politicians wanting to do something, pony up to reward incompetency.

Fauci telling people not to wear face masks goes down the memory hole …

On masks, from Dr Fauci himself:

“In the United States, people should not be walking around with masks….There’s no reason to be walking around with a mask.

When you’re in the middle of an outbreak, wearing a mask might make people feel a little bit better, and it might even block a droplet.

But it’s not providing the perfect protection that people think that it is.”

Good news: masks, means more asymptomatic infections and less severe ones

Cheap ways to starve a virus: Masks reduce spread by 70%, Distance by 80%

Masks do help, even (maybe) stopping 75% of influenza, and you can make them

Utter nonsense. The response to COVID-19 has been predicated on the assumption that asymptomatic PCR positive individuals can spread disease. This assumption was simply accepted as fact and, thus far, has never been adequately demonstrated in the available scientific evidence. Finding people who test positive but show no symptoms during an outbreak is often evidence of immunity, not evidence of transmission. Further, there is very little evidence that facemasks have any positive impact in reducing transmission. On the contrary, it is clear that face coverings for healthy people do more harm than good.

We know asymptomatic people do spread disease and can have high viral loads. Track and Tracing shows that people catch infections from them. Genetic tests show the virus is the same. Rate of spread is estimated to be 1 in 4 compared with symptomatic people.

On masks, there are plenty of contradictory studies to show whatever you want to find. We know that a badly fit mask, with loose knitted material is worse than nothing, but that proper masks, proper fitting, and long term use etc, offer protection of up to 70%. If you want to prolong a lockdown, don’t use a mask.

Think hard about some claims — like this one:

earing facemasks has been demonstrated to have substantial adverse physiological and psychological effects. These include hypoxia, hypercapnia, shortness of breath, increased acidity and toxicity, activation of fear and stress response, rise in stress hormones, immunosuppression, fatigue, headaches, decline in cognitive performance, predisposition for viral and infectious illnesses, chronic stress, anxiety and depression.

Surgeons doing 9 hour operations wear masks the whole time as does every person in that room. They are doing fine precise, high pressure work. Is it likely that they wouldn’t notice if current masks caused meaningful symptoms on the list above?

Jo, you continue to peddle myths. Never in history have asymptomatic people been known to spread disease. Fauci has said this himself. Are we supposed to take you on your word that” we know asymptomatic people do spread disease”? Please show me a peer reviewed study that is not funded by the Gates Foundation or big pharma. This (along with the PCR as a method of virus detection) is the biggest lie that underpins the entire covid fraud.

With regards to masks. your logic is that because surgeons suffer no ill effects from masks (once again we’ll take your word for it) then the general public could not possibly suffer from the conditions you mention. You’re either not trying or deliberately misleading.

                Hi Jo,

One of the things about statistics is that results cannot be valid when comparing uncontrolled situations.

Previously I have said that there were two early outbreaks, New York and a region of Italy, which had some similarities in the environment provided to the virus. There was also mention of how these places contrasted with Australia.

I have also been in favour of strong National border control allied to open internal borders. Australia is perhaps the perfect example of a dispersed population where immediate isolation of infected – symptomatic people and contacts could have been carried out.

Everyone, not obviously in trouble, could then carry on with their normal routines.

The harsh lockdowns throughout Australia and particularly in Victoria seem to have given pain and social disintegration rather than certainty and emotional relief.

Victoria: the harshest lockdowns and the highest death rate, with Dan’s incubators doing their best to magnify the drama and allow himself to raise the level of control another notch; mission accomplished.

But back to the main point: the “environment” outside of the laboratory.

On masks, Gregg makes the point:

“That bit of extra time for an immune system that isn’t doing much just gives a bit more time for the immune system to not do much.”

What I interpret that as saying is that some people don’t need masks because they have a good enough immune system to deal with the CV19. That leaves the “immuno compromised” whose biggest problem is not the amount of CV19 they inhale but the fact that they are defenceless.

                In short, I would endorse;
A hard National border with pre flight CV19 test clearance before boarding a flight to Australia.
Immediate isolation of the CV19 symptomatic and testing of contacts. If necessary some suburbs may need to be restricted for a few days until testing can exclude those in the clear.

The closure of state borders is just showmanship.

No mask of the kind worn in operating rooms will stop or hinder virus transmission.

Masks worm in operating rooms prevent the spread of bacteria from those masked to patients. The risks to workers are reduced by having a higher oxygen content and higher air pressure.
Masks of N95 quality may hinder but not stop virus transmission.

      https://swprs.org/who-mask-study-seriously-flawed/

Reducing the viral dose should reduce severity of cases by giving the immune system more time to respond. But does that make a difference with the more severe cases who are usually more immuno-compromised? That bit of extra time for an immune system that isn’t doing much just gives a bit more time for the immune system to not do much. Do masks have much effect on the death rate? I suspect not. Maybe mask wearing can reduce symptoms in the “healthier” cases.
Hypoxia (from more effective masks or compromised lungs) affects immunity by increasing hypoxia inducible factor-1.
Mask wearing makes prior infection (candida, strep, whatever) worse in the mouth, nose, throat and lungs so covid will probably take hold easier.
If someone is already infected they will rebreath the virus and become more infected.

Really WHO must be feeling the pinch. While the IPCC department is running a massive fraud worth $1.5Trillion a year and devastating Western Democracies, the Pandemic department is just getting started.

The business pitch for $50Bn is that “we obviously hid a pandemic completely for as long as possible to make sure it devastated the world”. “If you want to survive the next one you better start paying”.

The UN was created to prevent war. It is now waging war on Western Democracies on two fronts, fake Climate and real Pandemics. All brought to you by the Communist United Nations. And funded by everyone else.

C-19 is just like the anthropogenic global warming fraud.

It is solved merely by spending more borrowed taxpayer money, most of which goes into the pockets of the Elites to help fund their private jet rides to “climate emergency” or C-19 conferences or goes into their bank accounts so they can invest in more of the “cure” like more windmills or more money to Big Pharma.

No independent thought, facts or logic are necessary.

In fact, trying to introduce independent thoughts, facts or logic will have the Leftists censor you (or worse, given their increasing propensity to practice violence, and the violence is usually not even prosecuted by the legal system).

How many of the Elites have investments in Ruinables or Big Pharma?

How many of the Elites have investments in companies making cheap generic drugs like HCQ, Ivermectin, Vit D etc? How many have investments in clean, cheap coal, gas, nuclear or real hydro electricity generators?

How many of the Elites genuinely care about the welfare of the people? None.

This C-19 “crisis”, like the “climate crisis” is not going to be allowed to finish. It will be endlessly pushed to remove what few rights and liberties and decent standard of living we are currently left with (but the Elites will only benefit, not suffer).

      Right on target there.

The obvious conclusion from that, is that we, the people, must reject this takeover of our lives and actually confront our governments.

The yellow vests in France and more recently their Generals have shown the way and we can look back to Watt Tyler for inspiration. Yes! It’s that bad.

The radio, and no doubt the T.V. which I no longer watch, are chock full of interviews with professors, associate professors, visiting super senior professors and one thing they have in common is that they have been put in place to defend the government’s Woke activity.

It’s appalling that a conjoint professor can be used to dignify government sloth and greed.

There is now, sadly, only one solution because we are close to losing it all.

We must arise and confront this deeply embedded monster.

            Hi Jo,

Undoubtedly there is science behind the CV19 disease but there’s a problem; the pure science of virus creation and structure seems to be well understood at the laboratory level but there doesn’t seem to be any solid understanding of its behaviour in the real world.

Factors which may influence the spread of CV19 through a country seem to be ignored.

In the early stages a specific region of Italy and New York were hot spots.
In New York there were many elderly in nursing homes whose situation was that most of them were probably going to pass on within the following two years or so.
In the Italian case there were many Chinese workers, some specifically from Wuhan, embedded in the location and it is thought that there were a considerable number of undocumented retainers.

By comparison, Australia is a reasonably coherent population with good health support, strong vaccination ethic and less crowded cities than N.Y. or the Italian region.

To my mind the cure in Australia, with lockdown and such has been more devastating than the virus.
Small businesses have collapsed, education has been very dodgy for the year etc.

Massive expenditure of taxpayer dollars seems to have done little more than make big pharma richer. Surely border testing and checking those who have symptoms would have been preferable. Isolate those who genuinely have CV19 and let the rest of the country go on with their lives.

To illustrate the point about CV19 environment we need look no further than India where people wash and take water from the rivers. CV19 is off and running.

The necessary “science” relating to CV19 is the environmental aspect and it seems to have been totally ignored.

Indeed, k.k. there is a great deal we do not know about sars-cov-2, but there is a lot of post hoc ergo proper hoc reasoning about this pandemic. For example, it is hard to decipher what 85% or 70% effectiveness of masks in reduction of spread means, but take an R0 of 2.5 times 30% is 0.75 and should lead to a rapidly vanishing epidemic. No where do we observe this despite highly compliant populations in the U.S.

The research literature, some of the best work done by Australians in Chinese hospitals, doesn’t suggest significant effectiveness, and observations from around the world shows similar outcomes no matter what the rules or compliance.

KK. With hindsight we know some things have been overdone, even more were underdone. The West could have kept all Chinese bioweapons in China.

But we didn’t have hindsight in Feb last year. What we knew then was enough to know there was no predicting how this virus would mutate, or what the exact R0 would be in every given situation. By the time you collect data, a new variant can makes the data obsolete.

I knew the history of many other pandemics and the potential of biotech. I watched what Chinese doctors were doing. The cheapest and most sensible solution was obviously to block the fights until we had more data. It’s easier to open up the borders if it turns out to be just “the flu” but extremely expensive to get rid of it after we let it in.

With a pandemic, decisions have to be made in real time with bad data, huge error bars and most factors unknown. Once Covid was stupidly let in, the only option was to lockdown or to let it spread while doing experiments as an exponential curve overran a system within weeks that was completely unprepared.

Pandemic decisions are hugely asymmetrical with cost-benefit.

                Hi Jo,
I know of one country which had its border with China closed by early February; they were acting on good medical advice and the politicians acted on that advice.

By contrast here in Australia there was that incredibly dangerous political solution to a cruise vessel which was unloaded by mistake. I’m sure that no money changed hands over that.

Then to make matters worse, the empty hotels needed filling so they were turned into quarantine accommodation.
It doesn’t take a genius to work out that the air conditioning would have seen to the equal distribution of viruses amongst the occupants; this being ably demonstrated by the government in Victoria.

But Australia marched on and demonstrated its political ineptitude by setting up controls at state borders. The solution, adopted by sensible countries, was to immediately isolate any person with the virus until they were clear again.
The border closures and lockdown have done little to control CV19 but have destroyed the livelihoods of many business people and caused immense heartache.

Government performance in looking after the nation would rate maybe 1 out of 10 if that.

It is obvious that this was dealt with as a political issue rather than a medical one.

                KK

                10

              • #

Actually hotel air conditioning seems to be OK with previous mutations, and as we saw on the Diamond Princess, the spread was mostly on one floor during quarantine, not through air con. The former Covid was rarely aerosol, mostly droplet. Now it’s more easily aerosolized.

The hotel quarantine system was a good solution for the 2020 versions of Covid (as long as staff were trained properly with science and not diversity videos). But what must have scared the medical teams in the last month was how the Indian mutation kept leaping out of the quarantine. Clearly we have to upgrade our walls. It’s a normal arms race with viral evolution.

On borders, the data is razor clear. The countries and states with tough borders preserved their businesses because they didn’t need long lockdowns. It is rank incompetence not to close borders fast, and then to have to lockdowns. People who hate lockdowns ought love hard borders. The hard border should have been “around China”.

I wouldn’t swap the WA solution with the NSW one. Though I realize that it’s much harder for NSW to close borders, so the repeated inward spread, annoying and random local lockdowns with intense track and trace may be the best system for NSW, but I’m glad I don’t have to live in it. Give me isolation and freedom any day.

We are so blessed here. I’ve worn masks for maybe three weeks out of the last year. Otherwise, I’ve not even thought about not hugging or shaking hands or avoiding the shops. I wish you all could be so lucky.

As for borders destroying businesses, we know in Australia that we spend more overseas than foreigners spend here, so while a few businesses that cater to foreign visitors have been savaged, most tourist venues are doing fine with domestic tourists. If we can just keep the damn virus out, most of the local tourism guys would do OK. We shouldn’t need to close state borders, but when incompetent leaders let the virus in, we do.

The Elites of the UN and now Australia’s once-reputable but now fully-woke CSIRO, want us to eat insects instead of traditional herbivorous animals, domesticated birds or fish for protein.

You can bet that the Elites will stick to the traditional diet, just like they continue private jet transport.

The Elites will remain grateful to their army of useful idiots of the Left for their ongoing support.

WHO ‘needs more powers’ says independent panel co-chair Helen Clark

By Jenny Lei Ravelo // 12 May 2021

For the world to prevent the next crisis, the Independent Panel for Pandemic Preparedness and Response recommends a more independent World Health Organization, a new council that would maintain a political commitment to pandemic preparedness and response, and a financing facility that can disburse $50-$100 billion at short notice.

    Interesting.

Here in sunny Victoria ( 🙂 ), home of the Gippsland valley, there is, a largely hidden Synctial flu epidemic (Weird intro music in the background).

It all started a couple of months ago when a lady at a shop in town here complained how she had a flu and that i was safe because it was not corona and that she had a test which was negative. I thought to myself that’s cool because to me it was a sign of things going back to normal with a real ordinary flu which i thought were extinct due to hand washing and masks etc.

A few weeks later i caught the same (i assume) virus and was mildy symptomatic of a flu and then started to have a sore throat which led to complications because i had a few bad teeth which became infected again so i had to take antibiotics that i was fortunate enough to have in the fridge so after about 4 weeks it all cleared up.

Then i started asking around in the form of a survey so i asked anyone i could if they had it or knew of someone who had it or and so forth. Fast forward to this week and my entire street have had it or are in the process of clearing it. My next door neighbour, the next house, and the house over the road and even a friend in Melbourne, and absolutely everyone, 100% of people i screened in my amateur survey with the simple two questions, have you had the flu or do you know someone who has the flu said yes. Over half (approx in my amateur survey) of respondents in town have had it however 100% of people i asked in my street have had it or in the process of clearing it.

The question became self evident, ‘why has our local media not reported it in any way whatsoever’?
So i called the local news paper, Latrobe Valley Express, and asked what the silence was all about?
The reporter said they would do a story on it this week.

Should be interesting…..pretty huge elephant in the room …it is mind mindbogglingly infectious…Is this because of the selection pressure placed on the virus to become more infectious in order to overcome the 1.5 meter distancing, or had it become resistant to hand washing, or due to some other selection pressure? :)…i will probably never know for sure……. 🙂

This is not a hoax pandemic:

About 40 Australians due to leave India on the first repatriation flight in two weeks have tested positive to COVID-19.

Close contacts of people who tested positive will also be unable to fly, which means a total of 70 people can no longer fly home.

There were 150 Australians booked on the flight from New Delhi.

Yes we can, there aren’t many votes in bringing them home.

The numbers Keith. What’s happening in India is awful, and the mutants there are bad. How much of the disaster there is due to their resources, and how much is due to the new genetic combination? We don’t know, but if we get it wrong, and the Indian mutant has an R0 of 9 (which some reports suggest) and we let it in, then lockdowns will be harsher and longer here to get rid of it, and the hotel quarantine was already breached by it three times in one month in WA alone, telling us that it was very different to past strains.

For the sake of 25 million Australians and billions of dollars of businesses, we have to keep that variant out.

I want to bring all the Australians home, even if it’s tents in the desert. But logistics are … difficult. Anyone who doesn’t have Covid on the flight at the start might have it by the end. Can we really do a full plane with 100% hazmat suits and oxygen tanks?

Nyal, stick around. Read another post or two and you’ll see my sources are far beyond the mainstream.

Its bad if the media are showing a junk photo from other events out of laziness. But there is only one of me, and in this case, when there are 1,000 photos of real dead people, bodies floating down the Ganges, city trees being cut down to fuel the pyres, so the level of travesty is “only so high” compared to other more important issues like test positivity, new mutations, mitochondrial damage, and immune escape of vaccines. So I’ll just stick with them. Feel free to pop in links like the “off-guardian” in comments.

Case fatality rate for India has been 1.5% for months and months on end, but all stats out of India at the moment are suspect, which is why (you’ll note) I haven’t posted much at all on India. The fact that 25% of the Australians trying to board a flight tested positive is extraordinary. Shows how widespread the virus is in the parts they came from. Can anyone find out how far and wide they live? How representative is this of the spread? That would be interesting.

If most people are wearing masks in India and are younger on average than the West, it wouldn’t be surprising if 85% of 95% of infections were asymptomatic. We’ve seen that in other places. There are no good stats at the moment, but I’m watching how fast the Indian variant spreads when it hits countries with better statistics and more adequate testing, and it indeed can move like a rocket — see India, Italy, Russia, Bangladesh, Singapore (not many cases there though). Let’s hope that it does have a lower case fatality. But a highly transmissible mutant with a lower case fatality can still kill more people by overwhelming hospitals. Ebola for example is 40 – 70% fatal, but just isn’t easily spread like Covid.

85% of 95% of infections were asymptomatic.

The silver lining to that must mean that they will reach herd immunity long before India, with some international help, gain control medically.

My understanding is that a variant with a high Ro but low fatality is what will eventually bring this pandemic under control.

“Even as the alleged COVID deaths reach their peak, more people die of diarrhoea every day in India and have done for years, mostly due to a lack of clean water and sanitation creating a terrain ripe for the flourishing of communicable disease.”

The plane lands, passengers get off in hazmat suits and make their way to a self locking compound equipped with a tent and 2 week supply of canned food and drink. It can be fully automated to release those under quarantine back into the wild.
Of course the pilot goes back to India after filling his tank without making any contact with kangaroos or emus or other.

It is not just pandemics. When you hear calls to restrict the use of vehicles in cities due to air pollution what do you hear as a reason? In the UK it is because the levels exceed WHO guidelines. Given their poor track record, who – sorry, no pun meant – would believe their veracity? You can envisage China sitting there saying make it this while of course having no intention of taking any notice and what would anyone do about it?

The problem about the constant nagging is that there is no recognition of things that are better, and often markedly so.

London is a good place to start. Checking for accuracy I read of: The Great London ‘Pea-Souper’ Fog of 1952. Both London’s air and the waters of the Thames have improved dramatically and people are fishing the river and presumedly eating their catch.

Sydney had smog and bad air quality as I recall and raw sewerage was dumped off Bondi. “I don’t care what they say, I’ll swim Bondi” said Tom undeturd.

Thanks for your reply Jo and for the links of ‘conclusive’ sources. I’m rather ‘chilled’ now that I’ve had a chance to go through them all.
Firstly, as an aside, all studies you have linked are predicated on the nonsense that a PCR test is able to conclusively determine covid infections. Some studies even used serology antibody test – the same tests an ANU study concluded “the kits were delivering such an unacceptably high rate of false positives that their inaccuracy makes them virtually useless.” But lets put that aside and look at your sources individually.

Any institutions and publications funded by or connected with Bill Gates are irrelevant as far as I’m concerned – as is the case with The Lancet. Not only does The Lancet Editor Richard Horton have a long history with Gates, but he openly talks about publishing political propaganda: “For me, planetary health is about re-politicizing everything we do in science and human health,” Horton says. “It’s not about publishing papers. It’s not simply about publishing a journal. What it’s about is taking that work and making sure that it has a political impact.” https://www.worldtribune.com/meet-the-bill-gates-funded-health-experts-who-want-to-run-your-life/
He seems to also have an affinity for Chinese Government Propaganda: https://dailycaller.com/2021/03/04/lancet-richard-horton-china-propaganda-coronavirus/

I would also note the following sentence in the study you have referenced: “The main limitation of this analysis is that cycle threshold values and viable shedding data were not available for all individuals included. Future studies should explore the relationship between viral loads, viable shedding, and transmission.” A rather significant limitation I would have thought.

Your Science Direct Study was even more ‘conclusive’ with the following key observations:
“a much lower prevalence of COVID-19 is observed in children than in adults, with people under 18 years accounting for only 5% of cases in the USA”
“Together with evidence of lower viral loads and milder respiratory symptoms in children, these observations have led to the conclusion that children are unlikely to be the leading cause of the pandemic.”
But then this in the same study:
“Younger age correlates strongly with asymptomatic and mild infections and consequently suggests children as hidden drivers of the pandemic.”

    It gets better:
“COVID-19 vaccination of children may provide protection for older, unvaccinated populations. Vaccination of children will lead to a great deal of immunity required for overall protection in any population”
They recommend vaccination of children despite the fact that vaccine trials did not involve children.

    And finally this:
“Therefore, public health measures need to further include–mandatorily and for an unforeseeable period–proper hygiene measures and personal protective equipment to prevent spread by asymptomatic individuals. All contacts of infected persons must test for COVID-19, regardless of symptoms. Asymptomatic cases should be reported separately in official COVID-19 statistics, and shifts from asymptomatic to symptomatic stages must be reported to health authorities. Mass rallies and major events continue to need to be postponed or canceled.”

As I’m reading, I’m thinking this sounds like more of a Government policy manual than a scientific study. So I checked the authors and acknowledgements (as you do) and discovered this:
“The authors acknowledge the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) (BMBF-01KI2052) and the Federal Ministry of Health (BMG) (BMG-ZMVI1-1520COR801).”

Your other Lancet link “Impact of contact tracing on Sars-Cov-2 Transmission” was also rather interesting, particularly the following sentence: “Viral shedding studies and epidemiological investigations suggest that in the household, around 40% of transmission occurs before symptom onset, the live virus is shed for at least 1 week after symptom onset, and there is high shedding in asymptomatic individuals.” When I click on the link for the source of this statement, there is no mention of asymptomatic transmission in the entire article.

And this from your NEJM link: “Although the investigators were not able to retrospectively elucidate specific person-to-person transmission events and although symptom ascertainment may be unreliable in a group in which more than half the residents had cognitive impairment…”
Further, the Author Affiliations for this study are from The University of California – one of the top 5 Bill Gates funded Universities in the country.

As for your pubmed link, I must confess that I did not even bother reading the article as I can’t take the publication seriously – this should explain why:
    https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/30316576/

Jo, I must also confess I had never heard of you until very recently so I don’t know too much of your background. I became aware of you after an interview you did with James Corbett about the Australian bushfires – you made a lot of sense. Your articles and comments on the Covid fraud however, make no sense whatsoever.

Nyal, so you rule out all the Lancet papers, all government funded papers, all corporate funded papers and the best test we have which has been used for three decades in medical, legal, historic, paleo, and forensic work on five continents. So … there isn’t anything I can say is there? You are well protected from evidence. “Congrats”?

But said with best wishes. Do hang around, I have a post coming showing that viral load bell curves are indistinguishable between asymptomatic and symptomatic people. There are superspreaders in both groups, (or superspreading peak events in most infections, the jury is still debating) but they are most infectious without symptoms. The symptomatic people shed virions longer so ultimately infect more people.

PS: I did my degree in micro and molecular biology (genetics) and won two prizes. I’ve self taught all the other topics I write on. Dare I suggest if you like what I write on other topics, but think I’m a fool on virology that may reflect more on you than me?

PPS: Presymptomatic = asymptomatic right up until they day they get symptoms, unless you have a crystal ball?

PPPS: You and a lot of smart people who aren’t familiar with microbiology are finding it hard to pick through the junk in this debate injected from vested interests on both sides. There are groups that benefit from fear and hype, and groups that benefit from pointless anti-lockdown and anti-mask sentiments. If you want to stop lockdowns (like I do) then protest open borders and the lack of cheap antivirals. Some things matter.

      Thank you Nyal.

I appreciate Jo’s obvious understanding of the laboratory scale detail of the CV19 virus.

While I have no specific training in this area of biology I do have a reasonable skill set in process analysis and above average education in statistics.

In the overall scheme of things I detect a striking political bent to the actions of politicians with regard to the CV19 crisis and at an international level the entire globe has been shut down.

At a basic level, seventy years ago, it was known that immunity to some diseases could be obtained by exposure or vaccination. I appreciated vaccines: but lately?

Moving on we have seen the combination of several vaccines into “one jab”.
The MMR being a particular case. Was this triple tested: how did it go. Measles, Mumps and Rubella.

Now we have the annual flu shot. Can it be produced and tested in six months? Who cares.

And last but not least, the various CV19 Jabs.

Have they been tested? There was recent mention that specific population testing is needed to cover the vaccines properly.

This, I understood to mean that a vaccine tested in the U.S. should be retested before being used in other countries, especially those like India where lifestyles and basic health vary so much.

The point is that what the lab behaviour of the CV19 virus may say is one thing, but in the real world it may be useful in some populations and not others.

Even factors like age, previous vaccinations and diet may be important. Diabetes is a widespread condition in many countries.

The disclaimer accompanying the CV19 “Jabs” is a worry.

Then there’s the “testing” for CV19.

I don’t recall any such being done during previous pandemics.

The money; news reports of 10,000 to 20,000 dollars a pop being done in one state of Australia.
Why? I can accept that contacts could be tested but every Joe blow off the street? Did I mention the money.

      Rant postponed.

      And thanks again Nyal.

My wife and I were driving from Virginia to Washington D.C. in a rented car which developed a flat tyre. While trying to get off the main road I took an off ramp that led towards the FBI HQ.

      We passed a sign that said something like;

All it takes for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.

In 2020, the WHO did not protect even one country, but now says they just need more money and more power. The WHO should be disbanded, it failed at the one most important job it was set up to do — stop pandemics.
