Pelosi still plotting to get rid of Trump — another impeachment — seriously?

With 12 days to go, what is she so afraid of?

Pelosi and Schumer demand Pence remove Trump

The Washington Examiner

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who said President Trump is dangerous and unhinged, told fellow Democrats on Friday that she asked Vice President Mike Pence to invoke the 25th Amendment and remove him from office immediately.

Pelosi said she has also sought an assurance from the U.S. military that Trump cannot order a nuclear strike during his final 12 days in office.

A nuclear strike? On what, the coronavirus?

More likely she is afraid of Trump launching a new political party, a new media outlet, or a summons. Trump is obviously still a potent threat to Pelosi and Schumer. Even though Joe Biden “won” 80 million votes to be the most popular President Select in history the Democrats are behaving as though The People prefer Donald Trump. That, or they know they broke the law and Trump has the evidence and the ability to “Declassify” or charge them?

Pelosi said she is waiting to hear from Pence and that if he does not agree to invoke the 25th Amendment to remove Trump, the House will move to impeach him.

“If the President does not leave office imminently and willingly, the Congress will proceed with our action,” Pelosi said in the memo.

That was yesterday when impeachment was the second option. Today it’s the first choice. That suggests that there weren’t enough Cabinet member supporters to invoke the 25th or Mike Pence really refused to do that (which is hard to believe since he misled, then sold Trump out so conclusively on Jan 6th). If Trump was successfully impeached — which may take a supermajority of 67 votes in the Senate — Congress can decide he also could not run again in 2024 or ever. Is that the real aim, or is there some condition whereby a President facing an impeachment loses the ability to activate Executive Orders, or the Insurrection Act? “The 25th” has no effect on future elections. If the 25th was the first option it suggests that Pelosi et al are more worried about the next 12 days, rather than 2024. Acting guilty?

Or is impeachment just part of the Psy Ops plan to humiliate Donald Trump, to demoralize his supporters, and to provide a one word weapon against all his potent talking points. If Trump had the evidence, why hasn’t he used it already? The Democrats don’t just need to stop Trump running, they want to stop anyone from picking up his baton. By grinding him down publicly, they are also advertising to any would-be Trump-style contenders that the are putting their heads on a chopping block. Ruling by fear.

For those who think impeachment is too slow, think again. All lines in the sand have been crossed. If the Democrats have the votes (and enough sell-out RINOs) and a desperate need, perhaps to keep themselves out of jail, it could be done faster than ever before, probably a little more than one week. And there are arguments that while impeachment must start while Trump is in office, it can be finished even after he has left.

PS: Tom Rogan points out that Pelosi’s nuclear comment is incompetently silly — why would any nation advertise that they have no leader with the finger on the button? While China and Russia are extremely unlikely to launch a first strike, it’s a sign of weakness, and an opportunity for a foreign power, or terrorists, to still wreak some mayhem. “As we learned in the 13 days of the Cuban Missile Crisis, things can go wrong quickly.”

PPS: Nancy Pelosi called for “uprisings” against Trump in 2018. No end to the hypocrisy. Impeachable crimes are whatever Congress decrees. There is no court oversight.

Dangerous times.

h/t Howie.

If the Democrats want to make Donald a martyr for the cause impeaching him will definitely help. I think that the euphoria of victory will turn ugly if they try to persecute their enemies. It will just reinforce everything that Trump has said about him and will make him more committed to seeking revenge rather than disappearing quietly. Overconfidence is a recipe for mistakes which will harden the resolve of Trump supporters both the Dads and mums and the loyal senators. The Rinos will be expunged and a Republican Party in Trumps image will prevail. Democrats having deviously created the perfect storm for themselves risk blowing it and in two years time with the midterms could be in for a rude shock.

Ziggy, nothing makes sense. If the dems genuinely thought it is a slam dunk that they will have the Presidency, no problems, why ARE they martyring Donald? Has Harris resigned her senate seat yet?

Sorry about the analogy but they have Trump cornered and as with a cornered rat things will turn nasty. IMHO he is justified in extreme action when he is being threatened with extreme action. If they were to open the Exit door and bid him farewell he may accept the offer but if the doors are shut and the lions introduced, why IS the nuclear option* unreasonable?

*I’m not suggesting he would consider the REAL nuclear option. 🙂

If Donald Trump is impeached then he cannot run for office next time. The Democrats are totally scared of him and want to use any means to remove the threat he presents.

If I were them I would be very very careful. By acting so dangerously and pushing so quickly they are, as Jo points out, alienating a huge slab of the US population. You catch more bees with honey than vinegar, but this is the “superior Left” all the way. So convinced of their moral superiority that they will do whatever it takes to seize power and retain it. They truely believe that all other views are garbage and simply should not be heard. That is why Leftists are so dangerous. Trying to reason with them is like trying to reason with the lion which has you in his jaws.

And the Left are not even in office. Wait for Joe Bidens “domestic terrorism” legislation to classify any Trump supporters as public enemy No. 1…along with anybody who even seems to hold a conservative view…to say nothing of the completely disasterous Green New Deal.

Successful impeachment means that he has been indicted, similar to what a grand jury would do. In this case, the House of Representatives is the Grand Jury. He has already been impeached (indicted) once.

After impeachment, it goes to the Senate for trial. He was “acquitted” after his first impeachment.

One penalty in a Senate trial can be removal from office. That requires a vote by 2/3 of the Senators.

Another penalty can be the prohibition against ever holding Federal office again. That requires a simple majority and can be done even after he has left office.

How is that even compatible with 20-th centaury human rights, that introduced the concept of right to work as a human right, and the requirement that all criminal proceedings go through court trials?
To me it look like by signing 20-th centaury international human right laws the Congress gave up on pre-20th centaury impeachment.

History is written by the victors. Will the real Trump story be told?

        101

The Real Trump story has been told by Donald John Trump.

The story is of a man who would not believe he would be rejected by the voters and when he was, claimed fraud and refused to concede.
Unable to provide any credible evidence to support his claim of fraud and after losing in excess of 50 lawsuits, he asked the Secretary of State for Georgia to find him 11,780 votes.

Having failed in that attempt he then asked his Vice-President Mike Pence to not certify Biden’s victory. At the same time he incited right wing activists to storm the Capitol, panicked when they did and asked them all to go home in peace.

When Pence refused to not certify Biden’s victory Trump reviled him.

That’s the story of DJ Trump, a narcissist extraordinaire who cannot face failure and rejection and is prepared to go to whatever lengths he can to ensure he eventually wins.

He didn’t win. He is leaving under a cloud primarily due to his role in inciting violence and attempting to distort the process of ratifying the election results. He has managed to lose the Whitehouse, the HoR and now the Senate, leaving his party with a much harder row to hoe than they could have envisaged.

The short version of his story is he cared far more about himself than he cared either for his party or his country/

President Trump is not the first conservative to be targeted because he refused to go along with the globalist new world order agenda.

Australia’s Prime Minister Abbott is another, as Christopher Monckton warned, Abbott dared to question the climate change hoax and background agenda, as did the Canadian and New Zealand conservative Prime Ministers.

But the globalists will not win.

Take the time to read the transcripts of him addressing the United Nations in New York and note his polite warnings and recommendations including that they stop interfering in the national affairs of member nations, eg; signing treaties and agreements with compliant governments that are later covered by legislation and regulations with no reference to we the people (referendums) ignoring constitutional laws. This tactic was adopted not long after the UN was founded after WW2 when the leftists infiltrated it and have used it to push their new world order globalism.

President Trump did not allow the US to sign the UN IPCC Paris Agreement or the UN HCR Compact on Migrants that would have enabled the UN HCR to control member nation immigration.

President Trump cared about his country, a true patriot, and he also cared about peace and democracy, sovereignty of nations.

Another impeachment is driven in part by the visceral hate that most Democrats have for Trump, but mostly by the plan to ensure that there is never another Trump, i.e. “an outsider” who challenges the Swamp’s supremacy.

Already, without a successful impeachment, any future candidate who proposes to rock the boat will be told to, “Remember what happened to Trump.” If he is impeached, they won’t have to bother. There simply won’t BE another Trump.

I saw Chuck Schumer reading a speech. The hatred was dripping from it.

I suppose Trump never told Chuck he was a good bloke.

That hatred will interfere with their judgment. They can be expected to do silly things.

I expect they will try as first priority to annihilate Trump, his business and his family.

Meanwhile, if they don’t succeed in putting him in prison, which I expect them to try to do, at his age he would be foolish to contemplate running in 2024.

But he might promote another who is not affiliated with either of the mainstream parties..

Trump would not have gone to a military complex for no reason. The first reason might be that the right kind of military establishment is the only place he and his family can be safe this week.

But he is probably beavering away assembling evidence using military resources while he is still Commander in Chief.

And that could be why Nancy and Chuck are so keen to terminate him right now.

In obedience to the wishes of Xi The NYSE has defied Trump’s executive order to delist China Mobile, China Telecom, and China Unicom Hong Kong; this is indicative of an attenuation of Trump’s presidential power but the Soetoro retinue must know Trump still has real power long enough to take most of them down over the baseless electoral fraud and each individual will be looking for a deal in the coming days and the Stock Exchange will reverse its fealty and endure another four years of boom times as the Trump juggernaut rolls on.

Are you thinking of a military coup whereby senior officers and subordinate personnel commit to a process that –

      1. is run by a military tribunal.
      2. investigates e1ection fraud allegations by actually listening to testimony from eye-witnesses and experts.
      3. presents a finding to the nation, announcing the correct outcome of the election.
      4. restores control to the civilian government.
      5. protects military personnel from any future threat of prosecution (sedition, treason etc.) by announcing that any such threat will result in the civilian official’s immediate arrest and imprisonment at Guantanamo Bay for 6 months.

Were you considering something of that nature?

      Wow, I’m speechless 🙂

Pelosi is showing her … umm … her … emmmm … her … ahhh … her … what? … her oooh, political brains. She doesn’t know which way to turn nor what to do. Ergo: Trump has to be impeached.

Like, she has the time to play tiddly-winks?

This form of behaviour is not uncommon with stroke victims and I understand it also appears in some dementia patients. It’s called perseverating, where the victim is hooked or mentally hung up on a single idea and round and round that idea they go. Ergo the Impeachment idea. We’ve had that. It didn’t work. But round that circle she has to go yet again.

It’s sad, but that’s all we’re going to hear from that quarter: Impeachment. He’s gotta be impeached! Impeach him … etc, etc, etc.

Perhaps she’s past her Use By date …?

The democrats have won, but they still have the huge challenge to unite the country again. If they don’t, the conflict will fester, violence will be a continuous threat and effective government a huge challenge. A powerful way to take a first step in this direction would be to be magnanimous in victory and focus on the future. Instead they are seeking further revenge against Trump. Is that likely to bring republicans into the fold or incense them further. Seems to me about the most stupid thing they could do about now. Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. How are they going to govern a hostile divided nation? Every controversial action they take (eg: a carbon tax) will be seen as an incitement to violence and their usual tactic of trying to supress opposition by denigration and declaring it hate speech or terrorism will be seen as yet more incitement. Creating a martyr to become a figurehead is a really dumb move.

A decade starts with Year 1 and ends with Year 10.
So 2020 is the last year of the decade which started with 2011.

However, be of good cheer: 2021 is the start year you want. That’s the first year of the 2020’s decade.

I realize I must have been watching the kiddie channel, when I see all these headlines screaming, “4 dead in horrific riots at the capital.” They were told to go home at 6pm, because they were wasting every body’s time, and giving protest a bad name. If you’re not willing to smash, pillage, and burn, we can not allow you to stay out late. And when they actually list a cigarette stubbed out on an ipad, you know they are really scraping the barrel for atrocities, to frighten us with.
‘Our sacred democratic space has been despoiled’. Be honest, can someone point out a building on this planet, that is a bigger cesspool of hypocrisy, corruption and greed, than what the Capital has become???

The demonizing of Trump supporters is over the top.
The top tier politicians in my area labeled the Jan. 6th rally “(the color opposite from black) Supremacy”.
(Trying to avoid mod even though quoting what a a Mayor and Congressman actually said.)
Pretty soon only Democratic politicians will be allowed to speak the term “(the color opposite from black) Supremacy”.
The Alex Jonesing (and/or) the forced removal of DJT will only metastasize the political and cultural division.
The crazy part is they don’t seem to care about completely alienating half the American electorate.
Will Uncle Joe call for ‘unity’ after this?
Will we witness the greatest example of unmitigated gall and hypocrisy of all F ing Time?
    This balloon can only burst.

If John Bolton had had the patriotism to reveal to the House Impeachment committee what he revealed in his book, Trump would have been gone long before the election and Tucker Carlson (or even Pence) could have run in his place and won big. Trump was so toxic to so many Americans and had so much “baggage” that it was obvious he would likely lose. It was only the Dems’ refusal to deter and prosecute the rioters in the cities, plus the offensiveness of Biden and Harris, that brought out a big vote for Trump later. But Bolton put himself first.

PS: Trump should have pledged to resign if it turned out that the Electoral Commission found he had won. In fact, he should have resigned a month or two ago. He should have made it plain that he was fighting for the integrity of the system, not for himself. That would have made many more people and insiders willing to appoint the Commission, and abide by it.

“Run that by me again? Trump should have simply resigned?”

Half of the opposition to appointing an Electoral Commission was motivated by a determination that Trump should not get another term, as being very unfit for the office. Only if Pence might fill the office instead would there be a chance of congress letting an Electoral Commission look into the allegations of fraud.

You refer to “fake news” media stories, relentless negativity, character assassination.

It has been observed that when mud is thrown some of it sticks to the target until slowly but surely the target is covered in mud and the false impression created replaces the true character.

and meanwhile the bbc inetrviews a british “Political Scientist” ONE of 2000, who wants to see our Donald removed blah blah blah.. ‘ Donald may press the Nuke button’ really? against whom? Maybe Pelosi needs something like that. 1/2000 eh? who says the political science is settled, etc etc ….. just the same babble trash as we’ve been hearing for years about other things.
Also on brit news – the covid 1st Jab is like laying the foundations of the house and the second one is the roof + silicon sealing the gaps. OK to take i now 12 weeks instead of 2-3 weeks after the first, etc…. following some apprehension by pensioners about using this Pfizer jab at all. and so on it goes……
Meanwhile weather for the Diaspora: N Scotland which should have been shivering in -11C is wakening up sweating in +2C increasing to forecast +10C as the frozen ground sweatsbefore thawing making difficult Cross-country travel. No reports of roads with problems as we’ve had a relatively DRY period since Christmas and salt applications have dried the surfaces.

I have two stories to share. First, the daily pollster Rasmussen reports that Trump’s job approval rating is up after DC.

GREAT GOING YOU LOSER TRAITOR REPUBLICAN…’leaders’ of a walking dead pol Party.

The Rasmussen poll, one of the most accurate polls of the 2020 election, finds President Trump’s approval is actually rising after Wednesday‘s protests.

As Democrats move to impeachment and some establishment Republicans call for the 25th Amendment to remove Trump, the poll finds 48% approve of the President’s job performance.

A source close to the polling firm tells Newsmax that the rolling survey saw Trump’s approval soar to 51% on Thursday night.

Trump’s approval has been up overall, jumping from 45% just before Christmas.

“Americans are disgusted that cities burned for months and Washington and the media did nothing,” our source says, “But they still like Trump.”

The second story is far more sinister. Thursday, Michelle Obama in newspapers asks that President Trump be deplatformed — censored from digital expression — permanently.

Then on Friday, Silicon Valley tech giants not only do that but have also gone on an orgy of digital censoring, deplatforming people and organisations on the Right.

Friday night’s Instapundit headlines are dominated by this theme.

The former editor of the DC newspaper The Washington Examiner opines on “Here Comes Persecution.”

This acceleration of lost liberty follows directly from the Evil Treason of the Republicans endorsing the fascist party’s DementiaDent.

    Who could have predicted this???

If Nancy Pelosi was appalled by the crowd that turned up on the 6th in support of Donald Trump, she needs to consider the crowd that will turn up to support him during another impeachment hearing, and from the other side of the world, I can see that there will be many more of them and they will be a lot more angry.
Nancy needs to reconsider her vindictive intentions very carefully.

Is election of Biden even procedurally valid? I mean a specific moment of Georgia objection, when Pence dismissed Georiga objection based on procedural means. According to Pence the formal requirement was, that the objection was SIGNED by a member of Congress and a senator.

So it looked like this – from the leftwing CNN itself:

    https://edition.cnn.com/politics/live-news/congress-electoral-college-vote-count-2021/h_733ca4055ca1f7f6d9d8d3c79fee2071

    —————

“When asked by Vice President Mike Pence whether these objections were presented in writing and signed by one senator, Hice said: “Mr. President, prior to the actions and events of today, we did, but following the events of today, it appears that some senators have withdrawn their objection.”

Hice’s response drew vigorous applause from other lawmakers.

“In that case, the objection cannot be entertained,” Pence said in response.

    —————–

The obvious question is – if the objection was SIGNED by a senator. If it was SIGNED, then it fullfilled the formal requirements, and should not be dismissed. The formal requirement presented was not a continuous political support of the objection, just a signature on an objection. Even if a senator didn’t support the objection at all, and just signed under it – it should fullfill the requirements.

“Pelosi said she has also sought an assurance from the U.S. military that Trump cannot order a nuclear strike during his final 12 days in office.”

It would mean that within 12 last days of president’s term China could attack US with nuclear weapons while being assured that no nuclear response is given for such nuclear attack.

Thanks to Trump’s ego….welcome to at least 8 years of Democrat/1984/Gilead rule. There is no hope that the Republicans can recover for the 2024 elections (or the 2022 House elections, for that matter). Therefore, the USA will experience defunding of the police (in some states), and total left-wing anarchy. And don’t think the the SCOTUS will help…believe it or not, they have to be guided by something called the CONSTITUTION (which some people on this website are happy to ignore)

When has SCOTUS followed the Constitution? Roe vs. Wade perhaps? Which made premediated murder legal.

      60

    • #
      Harry Passfield

Well, the Constitution does not cover elections other than to say they shall be regular and take place. It leaves it to States to determine in what way they run elections and they do this without any prescription from the Constitution.
That is why cases are difficult to bring. The SCOTUS backed away for fear of stepping on states’ rights.

      31

      • #
        Orson

Harry, NO. The Supreme Court backed away from involving themselves because they are cowards.

The Constitution itself AND precedent like Florida v. Gore in 2020 affirms that State Legislators determine how elections are conducted: not Governors or Secretaries of State (as happened in Georgia and Pennsylvania)”

The Constitution also requires that the federal government maintain Republican form. How can a state’s Republican form be sustained if violating its own Constitution (Pennsylvania), or how can the Equal Protection clause be upheld if a state creates different classes of voters – one set of requirements for in person voting (ID check) and virtually nothing for mail in ballots? It cannot.

Furthermore, the obvious fact that the Texas case directly confronted other states harm from wreckless outlawry in election conduct diminishes the votes from other states in the Presidential contest is too obvious to gainsay.

Thus, it took the outrageous path implying that nothing can be done, when in fact it had a full suite of possible remedies explained in the brief.

        Cowards. QED.

I disagree vigorously Chris. The Dems have about 1 year to get all their crazy things done. No matter what it is they do but especially the green deal, it will inflame the Right and Center assuring the Dems will lose the House in 2022. Recall how many seats were lost in 2020? the Dems were dreaming about a gain and instead they lost. I also predict the Dems will experience a loss in the Senate but that may be tricky. At the same time, all the RINOs in the Senate are going to be purged explosively and the vacuum won’t necessarily be filled with new Republicans. State Republican Parties should be gearing up for this immediately fresh new candidates should be showing up.

What the Dems SHOULD do is lay low and not do anything too wild. Show that they are adults in the room. But they won’t be able to contain themselves. Just look at them now almost drunk with power. There will be a flurry of crazy stuff that gets slammed through. Rushed legislation is often bad legislation. Bad legislation leads to turnover elections.

Indeed, Mark D. Not only was Barack Obama the single most overturned President in US history, but he then lost the Democrats control of over 1,000 federal and state offices.

The US is not looking for a purposeless fight with China at this time. Under Obama, China started an active cold war with the US and other countries in their regions. When Trump challenged China’s take over plan in the Asian region, China started using biological weapons to attack the US and to accelerate the take over/control of the US government and the Democratic Party of America.

This action is taken because red lines now are now red lines. The US Milt is also going to issue a red line to keep the internet free and to stop all use of biological weapons. This is a big deal and a good thing for individual freedom and country independence. The world does not want or need a big brother.

China has been winning a propaganda war. China has control of almost all Western media outlets is currently trying to take over the internet and all of the governments of the world.

That is going to change. The US Milt has a non-violent plan to stop this organized, planned, evil attack of the world using designed, manufactured, and released viruses and an advanced sophisticated system to control individual people.

Pompeo lifts ‘self-imposed restrictions’ on U.S.-Taiwan relationship

In a statement, Pompeo said that for several decades the State Department had created complex internal restrictions on interactions with Taiwanese counterparts by American diplomats, service members and other officials.

“The United States government took these actions unilaterally, in an attempt to appease the Communist regime in Beijing,” Pompeo said in a statement.

“Today I am announcing that I am lifting all of these self-imposed restrictions,” he added. The Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in the United States in Washington, which serves as Taiwan’s unofficial embassy, said the move showed the “strength and depth” of the United States’ relationship with Taiwan.

The U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, Kelly Craft, will visit Taiwan next week for meetings with senior Taiwanese leaders, prompting China to warn on Thursday they were playing with fire.

This link is of retired Lt. Gen. Tom McInerney telling a small audience that a group of Special Forces were in the vanguard of the few who breached the Capitol. He claims that it was they who seized the laptops, including Pelosi’s, that were left on desks as people panicked and took cover. He claims that he has seen Pelosi’s and that is why the Dems are panicking, as it holds all the evidence Trump needs to instigate the Insurrection Act and start arresting the plotters. If the Dems can get the impeachment off the ground it will prevent Trump having the authority to do so, thus the panic.
