Trump — a man versus a movement — the most important election since 1860

There’s a revolution underway. The true Republicans, The Trump fans need to explain what is really going on and what is at stake. And Tom Klingenstein has a great message (there are deep considered raves and admiration in comments at the site where this was released.) He has captured a meme many people need to hear.

Trump 2020: A Man vs. A Movement, by Tom Klingenstein

h/t to Stephen Harper and David E.

 Or read the speech here:

I wish to make three points. First, Trump is the perfect man for these times, not all times, perhaps not most times, but these times. Second, Republicans are not doing a good job explaining the stakes in this election. They must explain, and this is my third point, that the Democratic Party, which has been taken by its radical wing, is leading a revolution. This makes the coming election the most important one since the election of 1860. Let’s begin there.

Unlike most elections, this one is much more than a contest over particular policies—like health care or taxes. Rather, like the election of 1860, this election is a contest between two competing regimes, or ways of life. Two ways of life that cannot exist peacefully together.

It’s Traditional America versus Many-cultural America

In the traditional way of life “there are no hyphenated Americans”, “we are all Americans.” America is colorblind. People are judged by their character and their actions, not by their skin color or their ancestry.  Multicultural equals many-cultural, and too many cultures really means no cultures at all, no dominant values or principles.

The Black Lives Matter/Democrats understand (which Republicans seem not to), that if they are to achieve this policy agenda they must get Americans to change their values, their principles, and the way they understand themselves.

They must get us to believe that national borders and colorblindness are racist; that we are not one culture but many; that the most important thing in our history—the thing around which all else pivots—is slavery. More broadly, the multiculturalists must get us to believe that we are unworthy—not just that we have sinned (which of course we have)—but that we are irredeemably sinful, or, in the language of today, “systemically racist.” And sexist, homophobic, Islamophobic and all the other “ists” and phobias. Simply put, multiculturalism must get us to believe we are bad

This suggests one way to frame the coming election: as a contest between a man, Trump, who believes America is good and a man, Biden, who is controlled by a movement that believes America is bad. I do not think it is any more complicated than that.

The power of the nuclear family, and the influence of elders threatens “State Power”. The young cannot be allowed to respect the old and wise, or be too influenced by their parents.

For the multiculturalist to change traditional values and principles they must destroy, or radically restructure, the institutions that teach those values and principles. The most important of these institutions is family, but also very important is religion, education (which they have mostly destroyed already) and community life, replacing the latter with government bureaucrats. It is here—in these value-teaching institutions—that we see the underpinnings of the Revolution. This is where the real action is. Republicans seem to be missing in action.

Republicans need to explain that BLM and their Democratic enablers wish to destroy the traditional mother-father family. To substantiate this claim, Republicans have only to point to the BLM mission statement. The mission statement, written by avowed Marxists, also lets us know that BLM holds transgenderism to be the burning issue of our time.

Religion is a major threat to collectivist Big Government power. It hampers the authoritarian messaging if people derive wisdom and influence from an independent group that cannot be bought with money, and who question the edict of selected experts (who often can be bought with careers, junkets, medals or glory).

Republicans must also explain that religion, because it teaches American values, is also on the chopping block.

Republicans also must make American see that the taking down of statues is not about removing a few confederate generals; it’s about destroying America’s past, as is the New York Times 1619 Project. The rioters, and their BLM-Democrats enablers, are tearing down the statues even of people like Frederick Douglass who fought against slavery. This is not an accident. It is not collateral damage. Frederick Douglass was a great American. He believed that America in her soul was not racist. He believed in hard work and self-reliance. And because of his embrace of American values the BLM-Democrats have to get rid of him.

They must also get rid of Abraham Lincoln, for it is he who best explains what we should aspire to. And it is he who is the best defender of the American Founding. In one sense, this election is a referendum on the Founding. Whether America was founded in 1619, as the BLM-Democrats contend, or, in 1776 as Lincoln, and, until recently, all Americans believed.

Republicans must make more of political correctness and cancel culture, which, as we have seen so vividly of late, brutally punishes apostates.

Who does Twitter think it is, censoring an American president? Republicans simply cannot stand for that.

And Republicans must explain, as I earlier explained, that the multiculturalists are trying to get us to believe that we are systemically racist so that we will surrender to their policy agenda. This too must not be allowed to stand. The American people need to hear what they know in their hearts: they are not racists. Republicans should stand up and say, “no, America is not racist.” Period.

If Americans are systemically anything, it is a systemic commitment to freedom and equal rights for all.

America has brought more freedom and more prosperity to more people than any country in the history of mankind.

…. Read it all at AM Greatness

Trump versus Biden is the choice between a man who believes America is good and a man who is controlled by a movement which believes America is bad.

Why so many voters support Donald Trump: a letter to baffled non-Americans. By Robert Hutchinson.

The first thing you have to understand is that, for tens of millions of ordinary working Americans, the two-party system is broken. A sense of disenfranchisement has been growing for decades.

Many Americans, both liberals and conservatives, believe that the two major political parties are utterly indifferent to their real concerns and are merely tools of big multinational corporations.

Virtually all of the organs of modern American society now speak with a single, increasingly intolerant and authoritarian voice — the media, “woke” corporations, universities, the judiciary, even parts of the military.

That’s why an astonishing 62 percent of Americans now say they hold political views they are afraid to express in public.

Thus, for many Americans a vote for Donald Trump is a vote for freedom — and against the authoritarian bureaucrats and cancel culture commissars who now openly terrorize innocent people and make public life so threatening.

The second thing non-Americans must understand is how utterly discredited the corporate media have become in the eyes of ordinary Americans.

Conservatives have long complained about “liberal bias” among the smug media class, but the election of Donald Trump revealed just how deep and widespread that bias really is.

Americans are shocked, on an almost daily basis, by the amount of overt political propaganda they must now endure from the major television and cable networks, the prestige press and the tightly controlled social media and search engines of the tech billionaires.

The talking heads on CNN, MSNBC, and the major TV networks display a public hatred for Donald Trump that borders on the insane — and there is a huge disconnect between what the media claim Donald Trump says and what Americans can see, with their own eyes, he actually says.

Good science depends on a Good Civilization. And a Good Civilization depends on Free Speech.

As I’ve said before, Civilization is nothing without science. But Science is nothing without civility. When bullies rule science, the loudest voices win, not the correct ideas. This is the battle of political correctness versus scientific correctness.

Do not be shocked, send tissues to your local state ABC temple. Trump has tested the ‘Vote them into oblivion meme’ and there will be a serious need for tissues in what remains of a National Broadcaster.

We can’t forget about America, because if they fall to the extreme Marxism that has taken hold of the Democrats, then we eventually get taken over by China. It’s as simple as that!. It’s also the beginning of the end of the free world and the end of democracy.

In terms of the immediate future, what we can expect from day 1 after a Democrat win is the rapid path towards the outlawing of conservatism and the silencing and even imprisonment of those that preach conservative views in the USA, and that will spread to all western countries. You can already see the leaders of this new regime planning their assault on those that don’t subscribe to their cult and we have seen from the riots that they will use their violent mob to deliver their brand of law enforcement, which is akin to a public lynching. Once in power they will also side with China, who they view as a role model for the system of government they seek to enforce.

Down here in Australia, we can already see how our more conservative leaders are struggling to come up with a plan to combat the Marxist cancer. Trying to play politics by pretending to comply or by making compromise is as good as surrendering, but this is exactly the game that Morrison is playing and all the while the cancer grows stronger. The ABC was taken hostage by the Marxists many years ago and as a publicly funded organisation they now consider themselves as chief commanders of the propaganda, which gets preached 24/7 with taxpayer funds.

The main problem I see for countries such as Australia is that even if we somehow kill off the Marxist cancer here, we will then be held to ransom by the Marxist countries such as the EU and Democrat lead USA to either comply with their extreme religion or be excluded from any trade. The leader of this pack is China and that is exactly what they are already doing, even in advance of a Democrat win and possibly because they consider the win a fait accompli.

In the longer term, but still within a few years, the USA will have a huge economic fall as they shut down their productive economy and embark on their GND, which is a national suicide note, but one that cements the Marxist establishment and removes democracy, because as we know, the majority of the people need to be kept poor, dependent and controlled in order for totalitarianism to be sustained. My prediction is that China will move in on us as soon as the USA’s economy falls, in the knowledge that there is no power that will stand in the way and no power that will care if a capitalist conservative country is consumed.

I certainly agree with Tom Klingenstein that Trump is a man for the moment as there is no other leader willing or able to take a stand that will maintain freedom and democracy. The extreme Marxism we see today has many parallels with Nazism, where we now have all white skinned people being targeted instead of Jews and where history is either removed or re-written and statues and other reminders of the freedoms of the past are toppled and destroyed. The difference being that instead of Nazism being contained with the borders of Germany, this new form is spread globally.

One unusual measure of Chinese censorship and control of general media in Australia is to consider how news of India is covered. India has its problems but it’s about the 5th largest economy. When was the last time you heard any news out of India other than rapes and industrial accidents? I’m betting never. Yes India has rapes and some examples of appalling working conditions. But it also has a space program, millions of well educated people and and expanding high-tech industrial base. None of which is ever mentioned.
It’s a democracy. Must be bad.

Serge, glad you brought all those issues up. I was looking for a thread to post this on Jo’s site and you gave me the perfect segue.

This was posted yesterday (US time) and I was thinking about you guys down under the entire time I was reading it. This is HUGE and I’m not just saying that for effect. And yes, at the very center of it is Communist China at the highes levels and the Bidens.

Everyone here, PLEASE CAREFULLY read this article. Looks like a much bigger bombshell than even what’s been revealed so far. This had NOTHING to do with the Hunter laptop. And please pass this along to all you know who could understand it. (BTW, the first author has a terrific book out that called a lot of this two years ago.)

Looks like even our State Department and possibly (probably) the mudslime pretender Barry was in on, or aware of it as well.

A complement to your Breitbart link is watching this 10 minute interview with New York Mayor, former Federal prosecutor of the Mafia, and President Trump lawyer: Rudy Giuliani’s interview with Steve Crowder on the 15th.

This is a slower and somewhat longer but more focused one than the Fox and Friends interview I linked to in Jo’s BidenGate thread. Similar ground covered, but slower.

This found me laughing out loud at the end! The authentication details that these really are Hunter Biden’s pic, video, and emails are so powerful. It is Indisputable.

Someone at Instapundit or Powelineblog suggested that Rudy probably let Trump know about this info BEFORE his raucous debate with Biden! And this helps explain why Trump was so confrontational then and mentioned Hunter Biden so much during it. TRUMP WAS FURIOUS! He had good cause to be.

This, I suggest, seems very likely true. If so, expect someone to confirm this fact before or around the final debate. The 22nd? I think? Or 28th

The socialist connection of China with the socialist progressive movements in western countries is all too obvious.

Listening to Rohan Dean this morning, he also raised the prospect of NZ becoming heavily indebted to China and being ultimately beholden to Chinese policy, under a majority rule Ardern government that is effectively cancelling all of their export income streams and will now be dependent of Chinese loans. This would be a very worrying development.

What I do find very telling in all of this political mess is that the UN and China are effectively running climate change policies to bring about the demise of western democracy. Obviously, in this new age of global social media lead communications, western democracy and it’s personal freedoms have the potential to be a far greater threat to non-democratic nations, with China especially being very worried about a people’s rebellion. This is why we have seen China take drastic actions by implementing a social credit system to suppress any public discussion that might lead to an uprising.

What we see today is the progressive movement in western countries being driven by the UN on behalf of China using CC policy, which is only targeting western countries and excludes developing countries, meaning China can use as much fossil fuels as it pleases, despite it being the biggest global emitter by a very large margin. Within this UN support group are the Democrats, who even made direct agreements allowing China in 2014 under Obama, to allow it to continue expanding emissions until 2030.

The question people need to ask themselves is this.
“If CO2 driven CC is so real and dangerous, why would the UN policy framework only mandate targets against western countries that have had stable emissions for the past 40 years and only emit 1/3 of global emissions, but give a free pass to China and developing countries that emit 2/3 of emissions. Also, consider how China went from a small emitter in 1992 to a huge 30% emitter by 2014, which is in the years following the 1992 UN Climate Framework agreement being passed. And then in 2014 the UN decided that China could keep going for another 16 years.”

The situation we see today is that China is running around spruiking propaganda they will hit zero emissions in 2060, but will not make cuts until after 2030 and this fake news is 100% supported by the UN and then preached as absolute positive propaganda by the Marxists in the west, such as by our own ABC and Greens. This is because China expects the entire western world to have collapsed by 2030 because of CC policy and the takeover of the progressive Marxist movement will have been be completed.

Correct, Serge. And let’s hope that once we have defeated this latest virus-borne attack on our society, the penny will drop with our ‘leaders’ that we have been sent so far down the financial drain that wasting what precious resources we might have left on attempting to change the weather would spell the end for all. Even them.

China understands that in our modern economy where the majority of value added to raw materials is energy, whoever has the cheapest energy will dominate the worlds economy and whoever dominates the worlds economy dominates the world. Leveraging the IPCC’s fear mongering to artificially inflate the cost of energy used by others is an easy way to achieve world domination, which is the ultimate goal of both the CCP and the UN. Little do the UN bureaucrats know, the CCP is playing them and their end game doesn’t include UN control, except as a proxy for the CCP.

Not just the ABC; I notice the news media are using the same propaganda tactics for the election as they do with climate change. Instead of accusing sceptics of ‘colluding with fossil fuel companies to run a disinformation campaign’ and infer links to the ‘tobacco company playbook’, they accuse Trump of colluding with Russia to run disinformation campaigns and try to infer links with ‘supremacists’ and rac ists. They do this by constantly accusing him and repeatedly asking the same questions about it. I predict the media censuring the Hunter Biden laptop story and ridiculously, again, trying to smear it as Russian collusion and disinformation, is going to finally turn the public against them.

I am absolutely astounded at the energy and genuine power that emanates from President Trump as he speaks to the crowds that wait for hours to hear him. He is not a young man and he has just recovered from the “Chinese Virus”, but he can stand and speak for an hour, more than once a day, without seeming to tire. No doubt some of his subject matter is on a teleprompter but he clearly ad libs and the crowd loves it when he does. Sure, he boasts a lot, but why not!

Compare that with Slow Joe who delivers his monotonal speech from a teleprompter to a small audience (you can tell by the limited applause}. He has nothing going for him and I suspect that the people who vote for him will only do so because he is not Donald Trump.

Trump’s metier, his rhetorical style, is hyperbole — exaggerated praise or condemnation.

Friends are “great”, enemies (who have almost always verbally attacked him, are “bad”, scummy, or just “nasty.” He’s blunt spoken with the common folk.

Let’s recall Donald Trump, Jrs, “Lunch bucket billionaire” story about his Dad.

He joyfully tours a building site wearing his suit with investors, financiers, or future tenants. But at lunch time, he doesn’t join them at a restaurant like most people in his place would. Instead, Trump takes off his jacket and pulls out his bought sandwich and Diet Coke beverage and sits down with some workers outside. At the work site.

The elder Trump then has normal conversation about family and work with them. One guy asks Trump “Why aren’t you with ‘the suits’?” “Well, they’re boring,” he replies.

And why not? He’s heard the same prattle and gossip and status flashing all before. By contrast, he needs his work crew to be happy enough in their work to succeed.

My father was a developer, too. His father — my grandfather — was a carpenter turned contractor and work site boss who reported to my father. My old man was a frenetic worker, like Trump. For example, almost every vacation was to do more labor and finish or start more projects. No leisure time was available until after dinner time, after daylight was gone. Except on Sunday afternoons. Or weekends in the dead of the cold northern winter.

I learned to drive a dump truck and backhoe working for him, just as the young Don, Jr, did for the elder Trump. (Or I used my grandfather’s tools to build a mock up jet fighter plane our of cardboard, lumber, chicken wire, and tin foil to perform a dramatic story reading at school. DIY.)

Don, Jr cites this “boring” company lunch bucket billionaire tale and Trump’s “in your face” language as his authentic and genuine connection to the middle and working class people — while the same directness repels and alarms the rich and upper middle-class. Tres gauche to the latter. But forthright and direct leadership to the former.

Spot on, Don, Jr. Right-to. Trump tells the people what’s on his mind and where he stands, whether you want to hear it or not. (So did my Dad.)

Orson, that story perfectly illustrates the political situation here in Victoria. The Labour party, once the champions of the working classes, have now drifted so far away from them that they have not the slightest understanding of what is important to them. Daniel Andrews is a ideal example – graduating from one of our esteemed loonyversities after studying hard at ‘political science'(fiction) before reporting for duty to his beloved party. Since then, he has never inhabited the real world, been responsible for providing his own income, risked a dollar of his own money, employed or trained a single person at his own expense or personally created anything useful to society or the economy. So how could he possibly comprehend the current plight of the Victorian working class and those self-employed?

    Thank you for posting this.

I get very angry about the Australian medias treatment of President Trump, particularly the ABC. There is never positive coverage and its always delivered in a sneering tone. A friend of my wifes keeps up a continual innuendo of Trump jokes which my wife is totally sick of. My wife also made a complaint about a course she had to attend as a govt employee and the presenter continually made nasty comments about Trump and used him as a totally inappropriate example on several occasions – and the presenter thought she was being oh so funny and correct….

I can tell you many bad things about Trump, but I can also tell you bad things about myself. But with Trump his achievements are exceptional (but unheeded by our corrupt media) and more than outweigh his faults.

But a large number of those in the US see through the biased media and they will vote for Trump because of the utter corruption they see every day played out.

Yes, the general condemnation of Trump on all FTA TV channels (see the recent “documentaries” about Trump and his use of social media) is quite astounding and shows what the coalition is up against when its members try to present any policy. Meanwhile, the ALP and The Greens get a free run to put up whatever messages they wish, especially angry, indignant indigenous leaders – just wait for Lidia Thorpe’s diatribe once the senate resumes. It has taken months of outright mismanagement with an embarrassing coverup brought out by a public enquirer for the media to properly question Dan Andrews “leadership”.

The US election will provide a guide as to how our media behaves in the near future. If Trump wins, because he has to win big to win at all, the commercial media (the ABC & SBS are obviously lost causes) must see that the slanted, left wing bias alienates the majority of the population. If Trump loses, even by a close official margin, then the MSM here will carry on as is and free speech will continue to be repressed for conservatives and, over time, the general population.

I think more and more people are starting to see the bias for what it is, especially since it has been so over the top leading to the election. Nevada is considered a swing state, yet I see mostly Trump-Pence signs. Trump is now arriving at a Carson City airport to a cheering crowd of many thousands of people. It’s the second time he’s been to the state, both times attracting many thousands of people to his airport visits. Biden was in Las Vegas last Friday, which is the center of Nevada Democrats, and when he said ‘Hello Las Vegas’ at his rally, there were so few people in attendance, you could pick out each person who was cheering from the sound track.

Dan Bongino has a story about when he was a secret service protector of HRC and the agent guarding Obama said he was going to beat her in the primary, just look at the size of his crowds …

I am certain Trump will storm home in a Trumpslide. However my first attempt on Sportsbet where they offered 19:1 for reaching 52% of the popular vote was restricted. I hit their limits and the bet was automatically reduced to nothing. I should have known it was click bait. Still I have a small bet at 19:1. Drinks.

So I had to accept $2.50 for a Trump win, which is more realistic but still good odds. Remember in 2016 it was 14:1 and Trump stormed home. He won the popular vote except for California. Biden is $1.50 and Trump $2.50, but like the absurd polls that does not mean Biden is going to win.

It is fun to list all the huge groups people Biden has deliberately alienated…

The Latinos, especially in Florida with a move to the socialism they fled in Cuba.
The entire military with his desire to go to war and the way he has treated them. No one believes the absurd slur on Trump’s name with that made up story about getting his hair wet, a story which was not censored by Twitter or Facebook or anyone else. Biden did not even support taking out Bin Laden.
The previously Democrat backing police forces across America with a real threat to defund them, plus the total lack of respect for the terrible risks they take.
The coal miners who want their jobs back.
The millions of factory workers who want their jobs and pay rises.
The gas workers in fracking and all the employees in that huge system which has made the US a nett energy exporter.
The car manufacturers whose super was stolen to give to GM. The people who are sick of the Greenouts in California.
The Italians who love Columbus where Biden has actually promised to replace Columbus day with Indigenous people’s day.
The people who believe late term abortion is murder.
The inner city blacks in 50 big Democrat cities who know their lives depend on the thin blue line.
The timber workers with their jobs back, thanks to Trump’s tariffs on government subsidized Canadian timber.
The steel workers who want tariffs on imported steel.
The illegals who want to stay but without the gangs and drug dealers following them.
The border communities protected by Trump’s wall.
The 50,000 airline people who just lost their jobs because of Nancy Pelosi.
The black people who have worn the blame for the white fascists using them as an excuse for anarchy and ruining their city and their lives. Portland and Seattle are the whitest of cities.
Even the boilermakers Biden says back him didn’t. They backed Trump.
The University students who want graduate jobs without being pushed out by cheap imported visa labour or see the jobs vanish, contracted to India.
    The list goes on.

I doubt Harris is seen as Black American because she is very privileged Indian Jamaican. Most had enough of the do nothing Obamas, so I wouldn’t count on the black vote either.

And this week when told 56% of voters thought they were better off under Trump than Biden/Obama, testy Biden simply said that if they believed that, they should vote for Trump!
I remember when the same thing happened in the Australian election.

Besides how can anyone vote for a clearly struggling geriatric sock puppet who has no idea where he is and keeps going blank, despite the hidden earpiece? If he is the best candidate the Democrats have, they deserve to lose. Trump and Reagan made it at 70. For the Democrats to propose an 80 year old next year for President requires explanation because no one on either side wants President Kamala Harris.

Up against the Republicans are the big banks, Wall street, Silicon valley, the media, the rich and famous of Hollywood who all live in walled enclosures with guards and do not share the pain. And the millionaire swamp creature politicians who have never done anything, like Mad Maxine Waters, Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden himself. And the whole of Washington DC which voted 98.6% for Hillary last time. Plus the CIA and FBI who are now facing prosecution for spying on no less than the President of the United States using faked FISA documents

Even lifelong Democrats will fail to vote for an extreme socialist team which is no longer even pretends to be Democratic. Like Labor in Australia and the UK, there will be a kick back against communist politicians who stopped their COVID money and cost them their jobs. They know who is to blame.

A lot of heads will roll when Trump gets back in and the Russia fraud investigation convicts senior CIA and FBI and DNC operatives for FISA fraud, spying, wire tapping and conspiracy. And most of America will be cheering. For all those entertainers who promised to leave the country last time and never did and all those promising to flee this time and never will, America would be better off if you did.

Plus the idea that likely US President Kamala Harris is wanted by anyone, even her own party.

Extensive and enlightening summation, TdeF. Thank you.

It is fun to list all the huge groups of people Biden has deliberately alienated

      That’s a beautiful list!

A lot of heads will roll when Trump gets back in

Trump will have nothing to lose by putting them through the wringer.

The list of Trump’s first term achievements is impressive.

Imagine what he will do in his second term.

He is indeed the US President for our times.

I put $400 at 2.25:1 on Trump and then hedged with $100 on Pence at 201:1 and $50 on Michelle Obama at 301:1.

My logic was that Trump has next to no chance of making it to the the White House. He has every criminal organization, every state security apparatus, the entire UN, every Green Nutjob, lives in a country roaming with Celebrity funded hit teams, if fact he has the Governments of entire countries, world sporting bodies, aid organizations, etc that want him dead. The assassinated Caesars and Past presidents lived in relatively friendly environments by comparison. My calculation was I was about to pocket $20000 and watch the world slide into a socialist nightmare or at the very least double my money and see Trump bask in the joy of free people everywhere.

I then followed the prompts, opened a TAB account and paid the funds only to find gambling on Politics was not available in my home state.
Thanks to the friendly staff at the TAB I have my money back and retain gambling should I suddenly become interested in the Gee Gees.

        God protect Trump!

Odds for Trump are shortening; 2.55 down to 2.40.

Curiously the odds for Biden are also shortening 1.63 down to 1.57.

I suppose it will mean a good win for Sportsbet whatever the result.

Based on the last election those prices are probably justified, but I went for the big one through the TAB.

If I had to vote one of those two I’d pick the popular vote.

            BIDEN was 1.6.

If Trump is going to win he has to win the college vote so putting your dollars there gives you much better odds at 11-1 and that’s on TAB.

Clinton won the popular vote by about 2.9 million votes but it’s the electoral college votes that count which is why Trump won .
At least that’s my understanding of the American system , from what I am seeing Trump has increased his approval rating among Americans.
It is inconceivable that the Republicans can win California but from what I’m seeing the state will get a shock this election .

TdeF — about your remark “I doubt Harris is seen as Black American because she is very privileged Indian Jamaican. Most had enough of the do nothing Obamas, so I wouldn’t count on the black vote either.”

In February, I recall that Trump job approval among black likely voters (ie, registered voters in the last few elections) polled at 43%. Very high for a Republican; a record high not seen in decades.

This figure was lowest in June (because virus deaths were blamed on Trump by Dems and Marxist Media). By September, is was back to mid-30s percent.

What does this mean? Job approval of Trump edged to 52%, then 53% in early September (higher than Obama at that point in his term).. And this figure does tend to lead to victory. (I don’t know what it is in October, but back in the 40s percent likely.)

But changing habits of the black voter is not at all likely to be so high, even though Trump may do well with black men.

Democrats roundly blamed Trump for Covid19 deaths all summer and since.

The US has a federal bounty paid for Covid-19 testing. This encourages state and local health people to do their best to find the virus — not hide it. And thus get best data to guide policy. .

Yet even deaths from accidents and other conditions is reported as death from Covid-19 if the virus turns up in the blood tests, after deaths by other causes. This skews the infected case data upward.

In Japan, by contrast, testing is not paid by government, and so it iscrarely done. In the Netherlands, with the crisis, a law was passed by small labs in the country to have it done there, and not in Germany where it is cheaper and more available. Thus, people cannot get much testing done at all. There’s too little capacity in Holland.

Therefore, the US over reports the virus as “cause” of death when it is very often incidental. While other advanced countries like Japan and the Netherlands underreport it.

Oddly enough, this exaggerates up and down and “crisis” reporting, distorting perception as well as news coverage.

A better virus crisis information picture is needed. But no one clears out the uncertainties of the data,
Talk about he Democrats using bureaucracy to indict Trump — Hell yeah!

Yes indeed. But just about the only question that matters now is – will Donald Trump win a second term?
Certainly opinion polls now are unreliable. Jo put it brilliantly when she said a while ago Bullying works in private but people vote alone” [from memory].
I fear that Donald Trump speaks too much to his base and does not draw in from a wider audience. I fear that the swamp is gaining strength not losing strength in the media, in the schools and universities, and in the Republican party, and that Facebook and their ilk are now distorting everything they can to favour the “Democrat” party. I think that reports of record amount of early voting can only mean that voting is already going against Donald Trump.
I find myself nowadays just hoping that I’m wrong. It’s not a nice feeling.

    Interesting article.

Certainly a proportion of the population do not express their real views to pollsters. The UK conservatives generally score 5% less in an opinion poll than occurs at a real election. The pollsters got our 2010, 2015, 2017 and 2019 General elections wrong and also the Brexit referendum of 2016 and the Euro elections of 2019.

So a very unimpressive record but the US opinion polls seem to be suggesting Biden has at least a 10% lead over Trump which is well outside the normal margin of error.

Trump supporters would need to come out in their droves on election day to overcome Biden.

Mind you I am always surprised as to why so many are allowed to vote many weeks in advance of the polls.

This article is all of a piece about one system against another.

The polls had Hillary up 16% too. And outside California, she lost the popular vote and just about everything else. And in Australia and the UK, according to the conservative governments were history. Except the reverse was true. It looks like Fake Polls are right up there with Fake News. And they are far too wrong to be just incompetence.

The recent poll which was really annoying was the alleged 62% of Victorians who thought Daniel Andrews is doing a great job. I have not met anyone who can stomach the man. And the people of Victoria are doing a great job while Daniel Andrews has done the worst job imaginable. The whole country knows it and has suffered, but none so much as the people of Melbourne. Six months of Andrews hell and 90% of the deaths in Australia.

But then after 25 trips to China and signing our state up illegally to the Chinese Communist Party Belt and Road, what can you expect? Democracy? And if he gets his deadly Omnibus bill through, he can arrest anyone he likes without explanation and lock them up indefinitely without appeal. On his orders alone. Frankly, it’s almost beyond belief what he has done through a parliament which does his bidding, when he allows them to sit.

We will see what happens when he faces the tame rubber stamp court he set up. They have turned on him. Like all dictators, under oath he went to water and blamed his ministers. And they are now turning on him. There was only one villain and a lot of compliant toadies.

He may be removed at any time by his own party like so many leaders, Rudd, Abbott, Gillard, Turnbull. Hopefully soon.

Andrews has already issued hundreds of millions in “Green Bonds”, something which he is implicitly not allowed to do under the Constitution but not forbidden to do. I suspect we may see the relationship in his promised new ‘mega budget’ this week, which may involve huge borrowings from China to fund big capital works. That alone would make the State of Victoria a commercial satellite of the CCP. And bring a swift reaction from the Federal government. Unserviceable Debt is the ball and chain which expands the Chinese sphere of influence. It will be in the fine print of a deal we have not seen.

This suggests one way to frame the coming election: as a contest between a man, Trump, who believes America is good and a man, Biden, who is controlled by a movement that believes America is bad. I do not think it is any more complicated than that.

    That is brilliant.

And if America is so ‘bad’, racist and awful, why do so many want to move there? Including the ‘squad’ and their families and the parents of Kamala Harris and Barack Obama. And it is quite amazing that even billionaire Oprah Winfrey and Michelle Obama are victims of ‘systemic racism’. And all the many super rich black sportsmen. They must be the richest, most privileged, most famous black victims in the world.

The only reason the promotion of ‘Wokeness’ even gets off the ground is because of the inherent decency of the very people they regard as enemies. If the average white, straight, self-supporting, law abiding, contributing citizen really was everything-ist/phobic, they wouldn’t be manipulated so easily by the tactics the left uses.

And it’s a stupid technique. Even decent people’s goodwill only stretches so far.

Notice just one person like Candice Owens generates way more respect than 100,000 BLM protestors. If Owens needed to make a valid point about black oppression, she’d be listened to by conservatives. If BLM made the same valid point it would probably be dismissed as yet another rant from the professional victims and that’s actually what they want too.

If Pauline Hanson could speak with the eloquence of Klingenstein her words would be the same as Klingenstein. She can see what is wrong but unable to say it unpassionately and as clearly. Maybe Andrew Bolt would have the style but I doubt he sees the issue as clearly as Pauline Hanson. At least ScoMo was fighting for basic English language being a fundamental requirement for citizenship. Look at the issues lack of language skills has caused Victoria in the Covid era.

Victoria has suffered from COVID through its woke public service and press. Immigration has created large ethnic pockets that do not share values with the majority of Australians. Affirmative action in Australia means accepting the right of certain recent immigrants to take, with force, what is not theirs and then go unpunished. BLM marchers can assemble in their thousands and go unpunished while Harry, the clothes seller at Berwick, cops a $10,000 fine for trying to slow his financial demise by opening his business up.

My wife enjoys watching Dan’s daily Covid press conferences. She is a fan of Brett Sutton. It appears he puts public health above being politically correct. He has dropped some not so subtle bombs that have produced some priceless television.

Australia has integrated high levels of immigrants over decades but the recent rate of intake has been too much to avoid losing some cultural identity. Fortunately 2020 has stemmed the intake.

Indeed, mixed blessings with this China virus.

Another blessing is the lowering of mankind’s CO2 output, while the atmosphere’s CO2 content continues to rise. This puts to rest the idea that mankind is driving the temperature and the climate.

I am not a Trump fan, but I believe it is better for the world if he wins next month. I think it it is an exaggeration to say that it is the most important election since 1860…after all, this election is not about slavery. If Biden wins (and I think he might just scrape in, depending on the Swing States votes), then we’re in real trouble. It would then depend on how ScoMo and our government react to this situation…and I am definitely not confident on this. If Australia follows the Biden lead, then we’re over the cliff.

Something I am working on that seems to fit:

    Trump trumped the Debate

    By David Wojick

It was not a debate, it was an argument. A flat out, both sides yelling, your another, argument. Like real people. Oh wait, these are real people. There surely have been many arguments around the country just like this, maybe millions.

Trump executed it flawlessly. The left heads exploded, as if on command, which they more or less were. Trump’s ability to systematically agitate the left is amazing. He enjoys it and so do his fans.

This was no accident, rather it was carefully planned, as all such meetings are. I can hear Trump now. “Why do I have to debate this [expletives deleted] fool? We have nothing to talk about. He wants to wreck America and I do not.”

His ferocity is people speaking. Trump decided to speak with them, as them, because that is what Trump does.

The rest is history and historic it is. Trump proceeded with shock and awe.

To his credit Biden responded appropriately, saying among other things “You are the worst President we have ever had.” That simple line defines the argument. It would never have been said in a formal debate, but it accurately measures the distance between the candidates, far better than pompous policy pronouncements ever could.

This is not about nuances of policy. This is about huge numbers of people that hate each other, or at least hate what each other believes. Like it or not, that is our situation.

People decry what the Internet has done, but the Internet has given everyone a voice, and what a loud voice that is. Elite pundits decry the anamosity and ferocity of social media exchanges, but that is people being people. They say the same thing in the privacy of their own homes. Now they can say it globally.

All three sides (Trump, Biden and Wallace) would up speaking Twitterese, where Trump is the master. Whole sentences are not required.

That is the point, the whole point and nothing but the point. Trump is being a person, not a politician. The world reels. Shock and awe.

Whether it works or not remains to be seen. The President may be speaking out for an angry minority. Maybe it is time to restructure America. I hope not but I am not in charge; it is up to the voters. America will go where Americans want it to go. We will find out soon enough.

What I do know is that the Presidency will never be the same. Trump is the first Internet President. He will not be the last.

Jo, when your blog started addressing the COVID 19 pandemic to a significant degree, I was disappointed–especially because I disagreed with your position. Others have similarly commented. I now officially apologize for being disappointed in your wavering from global warming topics. Today’s thread is definitely not related to global warming; but I more than applaud your posting it on your blog. As I read the thread, I told my sister: “I’m reading something that I agree with 100%.” You, and your referenced author, could not say it any better. The only thing I would add is my belief that the enemy of this country (the US) is the democrat party; and until that is understood and acted upon by a majority of US citizens, I fear for the country’s future. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I agree totally here, but I remain concerned about the direction of Jo on covid. However, with regard to the US I believe it is vitally important for all to understand here and commend Jo for putting this up.

The Democrat party is not what it was, it is heading down a radical Marxist road of pseudo science and falsehoods. We have Big Tech aligned with the Democrats and actively silencing any who attempt to put forward arguments and facts counter to the groupspeak politically correct, and total lies being promulgated. I cannot believe that the ABC, and others, were quite happy to support the defund the police idea. This idea alone is complete and utter madness, and is triggering crimewaves where it is being started.

Having once had to literally run in fear of my life when in a lawless area from those intent on beating or killing me I think that ABC presenters are exceptionally dangerous in their thoughtless promotion of the defund the police idea.

I am sharing this with friends here and in the US. People need to wake up before its too late.

I just read an Articel by Peter Van Onselen (PVO) in the Weekend Australian; For Decency’s Sake, Trump Must Not Be Returned.

Readers my be familiar with Peter Van Onselen. Jo has featured some of his work in the past. His is described as a political editor at the Ten network and a Professor of Politics and Public Policy at the UWA and Griffiths University. He is also a US citizen as it turns out.

Van Onselen considered renouncing his US citizenship in 2016 but thought better of it. He says that Americans had better not vote for Trump because that would reward him for Bad behaviour and Poor performance.

He then claims many examples of Trump acting Shamefully. So I read on to see if PVO could explain. Foremost of these seem to be Trump mocking peoples looks, gender, sexual orientation and those with a disability. PVO did not give any examples. Trump may have done all of those things but if he did I think it was in response to vicious and bitter attacks apon himself by those he critised. How else should he respond?

    PVO then gets to his main criticisms;
Trump is damaging to the conservatives. Conservatism is supposed to represent defence of institutions and respect for process and good governance.
Trump threatens to tear down the institutions and denigrates the fourth estate at every opportunity.

I say hooray to both of those things. You would think that PVO would praise Trump for damaging conservatives, but this time it does not suit his purposes. He presents a straw man in place of conservatism. The institutions (Congress, DOJ, FBI, CIA,EPA, MSM etc) have been shown to be hopelessly corrupt and done everything but respect process and good governance. They need to be reformed.
As for denigrating the fourth estate, Trump has exposed their lying and duplicity. No wonder they hate him.

I suppose the Australian printed the PVO article as evidence that they are balanced and present both sides. In fact none of the articles endorsed Trump, nor considered his strengths and considerable first term achievements. PVO demonstrates his own bias and lack of comprehension.

    DOC

One sees the worry about the US, where it’s Trump and the ‘Deplorables’ versus the rest over all the biases, systemic bureaucratic failure – some say to the point of treason in attempting to evict a sitting President – education system overlords and standard setting, the intention to destroy the impartiality of the entire Court system, the destruction of the past history of the nation using present day ‘values’ to assess it etc etc etc.

I suggest we concentrate the same looking glass on ourselves. We have every one of the same problems – in Victoria one could even question the impartiality of the police force itself – with the left increasing in power to instil further its national destruction on our production systems. Our left is equally as ‘woke’ as the US. Morrison has shown some backbone against it, but his own party was nearly destroyed by the ‘progressives’ which is why his win was so amazing.People actually ‘got it’, which is grounds for hope.

If we just had another Kennet or a Trump to fight for us! Our press is generally heavily left biased, with only the Murdoch Press providing balance from all sides – for which it is resented by the left. Most of our media space is political commentary, not journalism. The difference being most articles aren’t just reports on events but most times come with a political slant.

We can’t expect Trump to fight our own battles, but if he wins it might give some spine to some people in the parliament to forget ‘woke’, take it on. Clean up ICAC and our judicial systems. Clean up our education systems and especially demand proper functioning and proper science from our schools and Universities. Get politics out of the education of our youngest, most impressionable children. Outlaw ANTIFA and any other such organisations active against our system. Chase the external money trails to see who is trying to bring down our Democracy. National Balance will only be resolved with a fight, and those pushing to bring us down love the shadows and loathe the fight. Their courage is in mob numbers, not as individuals.

At the moment our schools rank behind West Krygistan in world tables and this will not change while ever the dole mentality is so firmly embedded in our politics.

And that’s bad, because I’m not sure anyone in central Krygistan even knows where West Krygistan is.

Immediately post WW11 we had low paying jobs for all and the best free education system in the world.

Now we have No jobs and a third rate education system right up to university level.

    If voters on freedoms enthuse,
Then Trump is the one they should choose,
    For if Democrats win,
    Dystopia is in,
And the whole U.S. nation will lose.

    Trump for law and order.
    Biden for Burn.Loot.Murder.

Yup it really is that simple.
The President defends America ,the constitution, the dream.
Demon Rats want power, their candidate can’t even remember the Constitution(That thing).
    Is demonic possession real?
Cause so many prominent Democrats seem to controlled by some kind of force, such that they openly attack the people who vote for them, the country that sustains them and openly hate on the people who see through their lies.

I am loving the slow burn of the Hunter Biden Laptop,oh the irony, the most corrupt group of parasites ever, taken down by a Meth Head.

    “The Most Important Election”
    “Hahahhahaha.” and “Hohohohoho”
    Gary North:
Here is a list of crucial issues in American political life today. Which of these is central to the campaign?

    End legalized abortion
    End the war in Afghanistan
    End the FED
    End the war on drugs
    End executive orders
End the Department of Homeland Security
    The unfunded liabilities of Medicare
The unfunded liabilities of Social Security
    Audit the government’s gold’s ownership
    Balance the federal budget

You believes that the Punch and Judy show that we call presidential elections has some fundamental significance for the direction of the American ship of state.
Part of the political game, as orchestrated by the bi-partisan Establishment of this nation is to persuade voters every four years that something huge is at stake politically.

The federal deficit gets larger. The unfunded liabilities get larger. The monetary base gets larger. The number of foreign military and spying bases gets larger. The Federal Register gets longer.
The direction of the federal government does not change.

      None of the above.
See the previous post. The crucial issue is the political direction of the USA. Traditional patriotic and self reliant or self loathing tribal identity based multiculturalism.

Trump is a Democrat stooge. Sort of. There were 9 million more people voting for The Republican Primaries than usual and Trump won with 14 million. I noticed a lot of primaries had a very good correlation with number of votes more than 2012 and how much Trump won, in the early stages. Could have been people really wanted someone different but Ted Cruz was the other leading candidate. I really think that many of them were leftwing wanting to make it easier for Hilary to win.

Not sure about that. Can Democrats vote for the Republican candidate? There are plenty of Rhino’s but I think the Republican heartland voted for Trump.

Ted Cruz is still young. I think his heart is in the right place. Maybe Cruz will be President from 2024.

You identify it as a movement.
I identify it as a coup. It has had a 100 year agenda which it is now more publicly exposing. https://thedailycoin.org/2020/09/17/none-dare-call-it-sedition/.

Just read a report in the Daily Telegraph, saying that Biden is leading the polls in all the Battleground (Swing) states. Seems like a bit of Deja Vu here…I remember that Hiliary was also leading in all (or most) of these states in 2016. Hopefully the “Silent Americans” will come out and vote for Trump, as they did last time. It will also be interesting to see what those Z-grade celebrities, who said they would leave the US if Trump won in 2016, do this time if he gets up again (probably immerse themselves in drugs and self-loathing as usual).

    > This suggests one way to frame the coming election: as a contest between a man, Trump, who believes America is good and a man, Biden, who is controlled by a movement that believes America is bad. I do not think it is any more complicated than that.

No, it isn’t any more complicated. It’s actually a lot simpler. Both men are senile – one is demented, the other is a vegetable. Neither of them are ‘controlled’ by radicals of the left or the right. Neither of them are capable of changing the current course of America – a combination of the worst aspects of left and right. Far from this election being a historic moment, like the Civil War or something, it’s an irrelevance to the lives of almost all Americans.
