An Introduction for Joanne Nova

(For the genes and life expectancy talks)

Joanne Nova was the host of the first series of 'Y?' the Channel Nine production aimed at the after-school-set. But she's much more than just a TV presenter. She's also been a regular guest on ABC radio stations around the country talking about science. She's filled in for Dr Karl Kruszelnicki on Triple J, and appeared on Good News Week as well as the Midday Show, 11AM and Foxtels "Space Cadets". She has even been in a circus, The Science Circus.

This experience makes Joanne an unusual speaker.

The thing that makes Joanne so appropriate to talk today is that she has a passion for genetics and biochemistry. She was a top student too, winning prizes at university in these fields.

I know this presentation is going to be unusual. Joanne promises me she'll cover life, death, food and spare body parts (though not all at the same time).

Please welcome Joanne....
