Oregon Democrats say climate bill is “dead”. Republican senators wait in hiding. “Prove it”.

Oregon’s Eleven Update: The eleven Republican Senators remain in hiding to block a vote on the HB2020 Cap N Trade bill. The ruling Democrats have now said the bill is dead — even suggesting that they don’t have the numbers in the Senate themselves. But Republicans are wondering if that’s just a ploy to trick them into returning. After all, if the Democrats didn’t have enough votes from their own Senators why did they put the bill up for a vote?

Oregon's eleven wanted Senators

If the State Troopers caught them, would they detain them “in the Chamber”?

So much for a high trust society:

Top Oregon Democrats Say Climate Change Bill Is Dead After GOP Senators Fled the State

Chip Browlee, Slate

What I’m about to say, I say of my own free will. No one has told me to say this,” said Democratic Oregon Senate President and possible hostage Peter Courtney, according to Oregon Public Broadcasting. “House Bill 2020 does not have the votes on the Senate floor. That will not change.” Gov. Kate Brown, who last week ordered state police to track down missing Republicans, also conceded Tuesday that the legislation was dead, but she blamed Republicans for blocking a bill “that provides a better future for our state and for our children, and the tactics they employed to do so are not just unacceptable, but dangerous.”

It’s rural Deplorables versus the inner city Cafe Latte set

Gillian Flaccus, ABC News

Oregon has a national reputation as a liberal bastion best known for its craft beer, doughnuts and award-winning wine. But while its cities lean left, about 40% of residents — mostly those in rural areas — consistently vote Republican, said Priscilla Southwell, a University of Oregon professor who wrote “Governing Oregon.”

“The reality is that it is a much more divided state than people realize,” she said. “It’s kind of like a perfect storm for this kind of thing to happen.”

That political divide also translates to an economic chasm for many. As Portland has boomed, huge swaths of the state have been left without enough money to keep libraries open or fully staff sheriff’s departments.

For the ABC (USA) it’s not a bad attempt to explain the divide, though they quote some academic saying the climate bill can be portrayed as a stand-in for “a number of concerns” — as if the idea of dramatically transforming the economy of one US state in order to change the weather was not stupid enough to warrant desperate action.

The polarization grows and the only thing that can stop it is fair and free speech.

More than anything, the west needs a civilized conversation.

Would a politician lie? Would they promise one thing and do another? Would they look after themselves first and their electors second, if at all?
Would they ignore what the whole country had demanded in a referendum?

This high farce is about the extreme left wanting to burden everyone in society with their story of runaway Global Warming, rapidly rising oceans and drowning polar bears when almost everyone now admits this is not happening. And 31 years now after it was announced as fact, never was. There never was any ‘Science’.

The real Climate Catastrophe is that anyone believed in the first place.

Listening to people who planned to vote for Donald Trump prior to the 2016 election, a very common story was that they liked him because he was not a politician. Sure, he was rich, but you have to be rich these days. People don’t care about rich in an aspirational society.

Also if anyone could really find something really bad in his past or present, it would have been a book or two, or a mini series by now starring Alec Baldwin.
A fart in an elevator would be a TV series. A bit like Boris Johnston who is recorded by his Tory hating neighbours who called the police.

So you really have heard the very worst, which is a hell of lot better than most politicians.
Books on the real Clinton family would be banned, or at least kept under the counter.

Bills to move up the primary election date and related filing fees

That is certainly not likely to adversely impact the lives and livelihood of the State’s populace. So the Democrats’ actions were somewhat stupid.

However, actions taken to avert AGW certainly would have an adverse impact, no matter how well meant.

So, given that AGW is, as yet, unproven, the Senators were right to avert the inevitable result of the vote in any way possible.

Yes, having wasted so much time for so many people and $20+million in expenses trying to find this Russian collusion, they now want to impeach Donald Trump for trying to stop the madness. They even argue that while nothing happened, he has not been exonerated. You do not have to be exonerated in a country where there is a presumption of innocence and Mueller has found he was innocent.

Seriously now they want him to be impeached for resisting being investigated on made up charges as if he was obstructing justice? What justice?

26 Jun: France24: AFP: Net-zero: climate-saving target or delay tactic?
BONN: Richard Black, director of the Energy and Climate Intelligence Unit, which tracks where nations are on net-zero pledges, said the target was “probably the best single indicator of whether a nation is serious about delivering what it promised” in the Paris deal.
The European Union failed last week to agree to the 2050 goal, with some member states saying more discussion was needed…
Yvon Slingenberg, director of the European Commission’s international policymaking division, told AFP she was confident that all EU states would back the 2050 goal by the end of the year…

But the real emissions cuts will come from industry. Construction, transport, energy and agriculture all need sharp emissions reductions — though national net-zero plans have so far fleshed out little in this regard…
The additional question of carbon-heavy aviation and maritime transport, which is by nature international, has yet to be successfully addressed.

Net-zero “will require a genuine transformation of the energy that we use, the way we’re gonna heat our homes, the way we travel,” said Archie Young, head of Britain’s delegation in Bonn.

another classic from the Trump Admin. still hung up that Trump says climate goes “both ways”! how mad are the alarmists?

no video of Perdue interview in this or anywhere else, for now:

25 Jun: CNN: Agriculture Secretary Perdue on climate crisis: ‘It rained yesterday, it’s a nice pretty day today’
By Kate Sullivan and Vanessa Yurkevich
Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue cited weather patterns and said “it rained yesterday, it’s a nice pretty day today” when asked about the cause of the global climate crisis in an interview with CNN.
Perdue joins President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence as the latest senior administration official to question the near universal consensus in the scientific community that the global climate crisis is man-made.

Perdue told CNN’s Vanessa Yurkevich in the interview released Tuesday that “we don’t know” the cause of climate change, adding, “and obviously scientists — many scientists believe that it’s human caused, other scientists believe it’s not,” Perdue
“So if it’s not human caused, then what is it?” Yurkevich asked.
“You know, I think it’s weather patterns, frankly. And you know, and they change, as I said. It rained yesterday, it’s a nice pretty day today. So the climate does change in short increments and in long increments,” Perdue responded…

Trump has repeatedly made false statements about climate change. A recent example is when the President told British TV host Piers Morgan, “I believe that there is a change in weather and I think it changes ***both ways.”…

Asked if Trump believes in climate change, Perdue told CNN he hasn’t talked about that issue with the President — but speculated he’s concerned about rain.
“I think the President feels that(sic) I do, he’s a golfer, so sometimes he knows he gets rained out and sometimes it doesn’t, but the long term consequences, I don’t know,” Perdue said.

The video posted by David Maddison on Portland, Oregon was really depressing. A socialist takeover which makes Venezuela look attractive.
    https://youtu.be/aSw79yRnDVs

Parts of Melbourne are the same. We were also told by the Police Commissioner, the one who went to dinner at the pub in the middle of the bushfire disaster, that South Sudanese were ‘not overrepresented in the crime statistics’. She lied. Now we are told they are 57x more likely to be involved and that in the most violent crimes. The socialist view of the world is that everything is fine, there is no criminality, no problem, until it all falls apart and you run out of other people’s money.

I would run away too. Most people would. We are still running 90% of the time on coal fired electricity, but we are paying 5x as much for the same stuff, delivered on the same wires from the same people.
Please explain why? Where is OUR money going? Don’t tell me it’s to save the planet. That’s not even funny.

25 Jun: Scientific American: Major Medical Groups Release Call to Action on Climate Change
    by Maya Earls, E&E
More than 70 medical and public health organizations issued a call to action on climate change yesterday, calling it the “greatest public health challenge of the 21st century.”…
The climate agenda (LINK) urges government officials and policymakers to take on a series of priorities, including shifting away from coal and natural gas to renewable energy, supporting greenhouse gas emission reductions, and ensuring residents have access to safe and affordable drinking water.

Groups backing the agenda include the American Medical Association, American Academy of Pediatrics and American Heart Association. I have great sympathy with the medicos. They believe it all, but in their lives, no one lied to them. They studied hard, learned everything and they are busy people who just read headlines. They dispute nothing.

The sad contradiction is that these are really smart people who care a great deal but they have been on a treadmill since school and lack the experience of doubting people. A policeman knows that the person making the complaint is as likely to be the villain in the piece. And a criminal lawyer has to believe his client or there would be no jobs. Honest people are rarely on criminal charges. Few people lie to doctors. What would be the point?

So they are told there is a major problem with CO2. They believe it. They want it fixed. They care. They are completely misinformed and manipulated by opportunists. Which is sad.

One day this would make a good movie , comedy, tragedy or history will depend on the director I guess.

Its really quite bizarre and reminds me of political stories from the early days of the republic which were a bit wild.

Perhaps a return to dramatic political actions of the few would be good for the people, and I mean this type of damaging bill blocking not not another bunch of lefties marching or crying over invented SJW issues that do nothing but irritate the crap out of normal people.

It’s a wonder of worldwide cooordination, the way the left control language. There must be a brain bug behind it. (Starship Troopers)

This is a CLIMATE bill, not a Global Warming bill. The Democratic conventions is all about “Corporate Bashing, Amnesty, Climate Change ”

When was the last time you saw Global Warming? Of course if I suggest this is all coordinated, that makes me a conspiracy theorist, but judge for yourself.
Remember six months ago when statues in the US, Australia and the UK were all vandalized within a week? Coincidence?

So on the one hand, we have won. Global Warming is dead. It died because there is simply no warming, even with all the fiddling assistance the BOM can give.
This is despite the fact that three people have died in France from sudden heat stress. Apparently. That warming is deadly.
Seriously, does anyone really believe a difference of say 0.1C in ten years is going to affect the weather when it varies 10-40C a day, depending on where you live?.

So according to the Democrats and Labor and the Greens, Long Live Climate Change. Climate Catastrophe.
And their capitalist partners say Climate Armageddon rich.
No one even bothers to justify it. Consensus. Just send all your cash. We promise to save you.

The climate madness is totally propagated by ANY weather event extreme or just unusual or even usual but slightly heavier than expected, minor floods -> major flodds, warmer than expected weather -> extreme heatwave, colder than expected -> extreme cold snow in summer etc. The odd tornado in ‘tornado alley’ whats new? The odd cyclone/hurricane cat 4 -> cat 5 oops! Must be the infernal ‘climate change’ hobgoblin.

John Cook has a good B.Sc(Hons) in Physics, unlike Tim Flannery. Cook’s PhD however is in the psychology department, a thing called Cognitive Science?
Nothing about climate or meteorology, but after a career as a graphic artist and web designer he started his Skeptical Science blog.
How such people get to be experts in climate or weather is beyond me.

To send out a questionairre to 10,000 people, mostly meteorologists as far as I can tell and one way or another cull it to 100 responses is amazing and by sheer fluke, they supported man made Climate Change. If it was cherry picking, the tree would be stripped to 100 cherries first.

However Cook is one of the most famous enablers of this made up Global Warming. His blatantly manufactured conclusion is still convincing people and is often quoted. However in surveys of meteorologists, half don’t believe it.

Slight warming was obvious anyway after the little ice age and for that the world is grateful. That mankind had anything to do with this slight warming is both unlikely and completely unproven.

The other thing I find very odd about this Global Warming $1.5Trillion dollars a year is that there are no metrics. How are we going? How much has been achieved? Have we, the suffering masses, achieved anything? How are we going to tell if we are winning? Do we expect to make a difference?

You see no one is telling us how all this massive spending will benefit us. And no one is telling us how we will know. That’s because it’s not true. If it was true, there would be a sign after 31 years. Or having achieved absolutely nothing, we could spend twice as much? Why? All we hear is shut down your power plants and buy windmills. After 350,000 windmills, how’s that going? Or shouldn’t we ask?

One good thing about campaign season:

Most of the world has to live with a dominant ‘mainstream’ media that is somewhere between a state-run propaganda machine and a protected monopoly leftist oriented privately run propaganda machine.
Even where there is a free press in parallel, most ideas outside the mainstream of approved thought don’t enter most people’s sphere of consciousness.

The exception is during a political campaign.

A statement by a candidate in a high profile speech, or maybe even in a tweet, can break through.

“the signpost up ahead…the twilight zone”.

D Trump (fantasy) tweet: “Reason to ignore the fake news on climate? The temperature data is fake. I’m going to put an Inspector General into NOAA and insist on an audit of how they have changed temperature records to lie about climate change. And most of our thermometers are in the wrong place. and some whole countries have a single thermometer”.

Ignorant reports cause a Google spike in rush to prove president wrong. Some find strange sites discussing issue, even in faraway places like Australia. The problem is front of mind for a news cycle or two.

Maybe more if the left provides sufficiently outrageous sound bites. They will. Give us money or you’re all gonna die.

& there will be a takeaway…hard to predict….by the ordinary voter. Most likely “my electric bill will triple, and I’ll need to ride mass transit”.

    Depending on how I vote.

    We can hope.

    How to stop feeding them:

    1. If you are not there, they can’t find you.
    2. If you don’t have it, they can’t steal it.
    3. If you don’t produce it, they can’t tax it.
    4. They cannot continue for long on their own because they depend upon you continuing to be there, have it, and produce it so they can take it and tax it.
    5. They are terrified that you will discover the above.

Looks like the Republicans in Oregon have discovered it and are in the process of implementation. Good for them.

It is also clear that the left of politics has dumped any pretense of scientific support. Confident would be PM Bill Shorten just labelled anyone asking about cost benefit to be knuckle draggers, deplorables. Save the planet. Hand over the cash. Trust your politicians.

So they fall back to John Cook’s fake 97% agree, the IPCC and 31 years of educating a whole generation in the story.

I can only think this is a last gasp before the collapse. Real temperature models which fit show rapid declines in global temperature coming in the next five years. It has started with extended snow seasons. They can play up the summer as a long hot record breaking summer, but it just started at the end of June. Record snow is melting now but they may still be skiiing in Colorado on July 4th

No, the Profiteers of Doom have to sell as many windmills and solar panels and desalination plants as possible before it all comes tumbling down.
So what’s the next big profitable scare? The democrats are going with Russia. After all, the mess is all their doing and Trump is trying to sort it out. According to the Democrats, Russia is the only enemy and Iran and North Korea and China are trustworthy. Typical of the Democrats to put their faith in absolute dictatorships, not least Venezuela and Cuba.

Global Warming is dead. Climate Change cannot exist without Global Warming. It’s over.

Oregon emits 0.7% of the total USA output of CO2. We are statistically unable to affect global anything. So why do we need to be punished? One part of the bill outlaws diesel vehicles older than 2006, which are owned by every business in the state. Just like Australia emits 1.6% of the world’s output of CO2, your reduction of your contribution to global CO2 is insignificant. But it looks like you have the same idiots in power like we do.

27 Jun: Salem StatesmanJournal: Log trucks arriving in Salem for demonstration creating traffic backups
    by David Davis
    UPDATE at 11 a.m.:
Hundreds of loggers rallied on the Capitol steps Thursday against a greenhouse gas emissions cap-and-trade bill and in support of 11 absconded Republican senators who continued their walkout protest for the eighth consecutive day.
It was one of the largest rallies of the 2019 legislative session, complete with flags, signs and songs and made all the more overwhelming by the blaring of horns from the constant stream of semi-trucks, pickups and farm equipment that drove past the Capitol on Court Street.
For the latest on the protest see the updated article ***LINK

    Original post:
A convoy of trucks arriving in Salem for a demonstration against House Bill 2020 is causing traffic delays across the city.
Streets surrounding the Capitol including Court Street NE, Cottage Street NE, State Street NE and 12th Street NE will all see delays throughout the day, according to Salem Police…

    excerpts from LINK:

“Those of us who make a living from the land are the best environmental stewards there are,” Marie Bowers, a 5th-generation farmer, said to roars from the crowd. “Those who work outside are more in touch with the climate that those who legislate the climate.”
Speakers told the crowd that HB 2020 would do nothing to mitigate climate change, but it would still take their jobs away from them.
Advocates acknowledged the bill on its own would have a negligible impact on global carbon emissions, but there is also value in Oregon showing that smaller states could pass climate change legislation.

27 Jun: ClimateChangeNews: Bonn climate talks end with Saudis and Brazil defiant
By Natalie Sauer and Megan Darby
After a week of backroom discussions, a key report on 1.5C warming was scrubbed forever from formal UN climate talks…

pure propaganda from AP, so no need to read the rest:

27 Jun: Heat wave outside has little impact on UN climate talks
    By FRANK JORDANS, Associated Press
Campaigners and vulnerable countries lamented further attempts by oil-rich countries to undermine a key scientific report on meeting that target. The effort was led by Saudi Arabia, but also received overt or tacit support from other fossil fuel exporting nations like Iran and Australia…
Among the issues left unresolved in Bonn were the rules by which countries and businesses can pay to cut greenhouse gas emissions elsewhere and count this toward their own targets…

    same goes for BBC:

27 Jun: BBC: Attempts to ‘erase the science’ at UN climate talks
    By Matt McGrath
The chair of the Alliance of Small Island States said Saudi Arabia and others were trying to pretend a key scientific report didn’t exist…
The Saudis have gained some support in their arguments from an unlikely alliance of countries, including the US, Australia and Iran.
“The countries that are trying to downplay the importance of the document, erase it from the records, not all of them are showing their faces,” said Ambassador Young…

27 Jun Updated 28 Jun: Bloomberg: Global Climate Talks Stall as Temperature Soars in Europe
    By Ewa Krukowska
Envoys at a round of United Nations climate talks finished two weeks of discussions with little progress on how to cut pollution…
The delegates remained deadlocked on accounting rules and governance for the system, pushing the debate to their next meeting in Chile in December. They also failed to agree a statement on a scientific report about the risks of rising temperatures, with a group of countries trying to water it down…

***“People are talking about it, making jokes about it, but there’s no indication it’s spilling over to create more urgency here in these negotiations,” said Alden Meyer, director of strategy at the Union of Concerned Scientists, an advocacy group. “It’s almost like another world here.”…

A group of nations led by Saudi Arabia and Iran sought to underscore uncertainties about the science behind the study during the talks in Bonn…
“Things are not happening here the way they should be,” said Mike Waiwai, director for climate from Vanuatu…

The discussions focused at writing rules for market structures that would help rein in fossil-fuel pollution didn’t make much headway either. Those include a program to follow on from the Clean Development Mechanism that came out of the 1997 Kyoto Protocol. That program was once worth $8 billion before questions emerged about the value of the certificates it issued for reductions of the projects it sponsored. Now, the offsets trade for pennies…READ ON

27 Jun: Deutsche Welle: Climate groups blast Saudi, US ‘science-deniers’ at UN environment meeting
    by amp/sms(AFP, dpa, KNA)
Officials from Saudi Arabia, the United States and Iran allegedly cast doubt on UN scientists’ findings and their recommendations at a UN meeting in western Germany. The climate talks ended with little progress made.
Environmental groups said Saudi Arabia, the United States and Iran were blocking progress on fulfilling the goals of the 2015 Paris climate accord, as a UN meeting on the landmark deal ended in the western German city of Bonn on Thursday.

Saudi and US delegates reportedly questioned scientific research by the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) that found limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius (2.7 degrees Fahrenheit) would be safer than a 2.0-degree limit.
“Saudi Arabia is the main protagonist in this attack on science, although the US has come to its aid,” Oxfam’s Jan Kowalzig said.

The Saudi delegation also objected to including wording that welcomed the IPPC’s findings or any mention of the scientific body’s recommended emissions targets in a final text.
“Saudi Arabia, the US and Iran are forming an unholy alliance of science-deniers,” Martin Kaiser of Greenpeace said…

Delegates failed to make significant progress on “market mechanism” measures that allow countries to finance efforts to reduce emission in other countries while doing less themselves.

High-emission countries also clashed with others over how to compensate countries that are likely to experience the worst effects of global warming. The meeting ended with no agreement on how to raise the billions needed for a compensation fund…

28 Jun: SunDailyMalaysia: AFP: Big energy discussion ‘scrubbed from record’ at UN climate talks
BONN: Hours of discussions over whether the United Nations climate process needs protecting from big energy interests were “scrubbed” from official conclusions at a conference in Germany this week, AFP has learned…
Among those allowed to participate in UN climate talks are representatives of trade organisations who count among their members energy giants such as ExxonMobil and Shell.
Industry representatives say their presence as observers at climate negotiations is crucial as it will be the private sector that is tasked with implementing change in the global economy…

Delegates in Bonn this week held five sessions discussing how to enhance the transparency of the UN climate process.
According to observers who were in the room, three of those sessions saw delegations specifically raise the issue of conflict of interest…

One debate session saw the issue raised by multiple nations, with the United States warning that any attempt to regulate which organisations had access to the talks was a “slippery slope”.
Australia and the European Union were supportive of the US stance, according to observers to the talks.
Yet the final draft session notes on Thursday made no mention of conflict of interest nor the hours of discussion on the topic.

“Despite the support from almost 50 countries and environmental groups around the world … obstruction mainly from the US and Australia blocked the establishment of a conflict of interest policy,“ said Philip Jakpor, from the campaign group Environmental Rights Action.
“These obstructions from countries scrubbed the conclusion notes of any mention of the issue.”
He said that “hours of discussions” had not been accurately reflected in the final summaries…

The Paris agreement does not mention fossil fuels but a recent landmark report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) said the safest way to slash emissions would be a rapid and widespread phaseout of oil, gas and coal…

can’t yet find any Reuters’ coverage about the failure of the Bonn climate talks. seems they’ve moved on to the G20:

27 Jun Updated 13h ago: Reuters: G20 members at odds over climate change for summit meeting: sources
    by Aaron Sheldrick
G20 negotiators are wrangling over the wording of a summit communique on combatting climate change, with the United States pushing to downgrade the language against European opposition, according to sources and drafts of the text.
The arguments are a reprise of tussles over global warming that have stymied talks in multilateral forums since U.S. President Donald Trump pulled the United States out of a landmark agreement to limit the effects of climate change…

“Negotiations on the topic of climate will be especially difficult this time,” a German government official said on Wednesday…
Summit host Japan has been criticized for backing the continued use of coal for power generation, one of the biggest sources of gas emissions that cause global warming…

27 Jun: CarbonBrief: Analysis: Major update to ocean-heat record could shrink 1.5C carbon budget
    by Zeke Hausfather
The UK’s Met Office recently released “HadSST4” (LINK), the largest update since 2011 to its widely used sea surface temperature (SST) record.
The new version provides more accurate estimates of SSTs in the period during and after the second world war, as well as over the past decade. It suggests that the world’s oceans have warmed by around 0.1C more than previously thought since pre-industrial times.

Carbon Brief estimates that the revisions to the Hadley SST record would reduce the global “carbon budget” remaining to limit warming to 1.5C by between 24% and 33%, depending on how the budget is calculated. A smaller budget would mean humanity has fewer carbon emissions it can still emit before committing the world to 1.5C of global warming.
At the current rate of emissions, this would mean the 1.5C budget would be used up in 6-10 years – rather than 9-13 – potentially making the target even harder to achieve…

***However, a number of scientists caution not to read too much into revisions to the carbon budget…READ ON

the headline on ABC’s “Just In” page:

Europe battling heatwave so hot it’s causing chicken manure to combust and spark bushfires
Posted about 6 hours ago | Updated 40 minutes ago

    actual headline:

28 Jun: ABC: Europe heatwave sees temperatures soar to record highs as wildfires take hold in Spain
    ABC/wire
PIC: Although heatwaves are not uncommon in Europe, experts say climate change is increasing their frequency and intensity.

Chicken manure wildfire takes hold in Spain…
Mr Buch (Spain’s Regional Interior Minister) said authorities suspected the cause of the outbreak was a deposit of improperly stored chicken manure at a farm in the village of Torre de l’Espanyol that high temperatures caused to combust…

Mr Saloman (France’s head of national public health) said four drownings had been recorded in France since the start of the week directly linked to the heatwave as people try to cool themselves…

Beto O’Rourke at FL Migrant Facility: Illegals ‘Had No Choice But to Come Here’ Due to Climate Change…”

How does that even make sense? Why does he think it makes sense? What does he mean? +0.2 degrees in the last 30 years and people have to go to America because their Climate has Changed? I doubt the temperature in the tropics has changed at all.

So it must be bushfires in the jungle or polar vortices or the horror of polar bears washing up on the shores of Guatemala and El Salvidor? Or Climate Change creates gangs with guns?

Forget ‘the’ Science. This is just nuts.

And the Guardian blames all the problems of South America on America. In fact the world’s problems including Climate Change, the worst problem in history.
I suppose the South Americans could move to Switzerland or Norway. It would be cheaper than the $12,000 they have to pay to people smugglers.
No one on the left takes responsibility for anything. It is always the fault of the other guys. Like Venezuela and Cuba, icons of socialism but badly hit by Climate Change.

The mistake the Democrats are making, once again, is to assume that they can win over Americans with such groupthink Climate Change nonsense.

It might work among friends like our ABC who all agree with each other, but does a man campaigning to be the next President believe he can win on a ‘progressive’ nonsense platform? Around the world politics is being recast. Britain, Australia, Brazil, Hungary, France, Italy and the US, the people are tired of being treated as ignorant and beneath contempt. The new wave of successful politicians are portrayed as presumably opportunistic uncaring ‘populists’ when in fact they are simply popular and successful, like Trump. It is not Fascist Nationalism to want to protect your culture. The hundreds of thousands of invaderse in St.Denis Paris are a real threat to the people of Paris. And there is little point the Pope lamenting the dead on the American border. He did not care until Trump was elected. Nor care about the thousands drowned on his doorstep. The same in Australia where over 1,200 people drowned thanks to the caring Greens.

    Climate Change? Utter nonsense.

Extinction rebellion? Another made up emergency. Extinction is the usual end path for all species as they are obsoleted. Nothing we can do about it. You have to think that 99.99% of all species have been wiped out. Except the shark, the turtle and the crocodile and the chickens were dinosaurs.

While a meteor wiped out the Tyrannosaurus Rex, perhaps a good thing, and produced substantial Climate Change the Tyrannosaurus was in fact the last in a long line of top predators who all went extinct when the next one came along. So we in Australia fight Climate Change and we fight Natural Selection and adaption perhaps because it’s cruel. But that’s life. When a smarter non human comes along, we will go the same way.

However while thousands protest at Natural Selection, it’s inevitable. And it’s not anyone’s fault.

And the Progressive convention (Used to be Democrats)

    On climate change,
Buttigieg calls for “Pittsburgh Summit” in addition rejoining the Paris Accord.

Biden says he would “up the ante” in that accord because he claims America makes up 15% of the problem.

Sanders claims there are only 12 years left before there is “irreparable damage” to the environment.

He wants to transform the energy system away from fossil fuels to more energy efficient solutions.

12 years left? What ‘irreparable damage’?
At least the alarmists (Tim Flannery, Kevin Rudd, Prince Charles, the Pope,..) have stopped working in units of precisely 10 years for disaster.
We have already have three of those, all expired without a problem.

Do these candidates really think people still believe it? Or is it written down somewhere as essential Leftist policy? Like a beauty pageant where women have to pretend to care more about saving the children than winning the competition.
