Mission Impossible: “100% renewable”. Greens ban coal and cars by 2030. Kiss goodbye to $30b and life as we know it?

The Australian Greens are actually proposing an end to thermal coal exports and coal plants and a ban on new internal combustion vehicles by 2030.

The Greens, Australia.

Their policy plan: Renew Australia 2030

The Greens policy blueprint suggests Australia would become a “renewable energy superpower”, with coal exports to be replaced by clean hydrogen, and the construction of a $6bn taxpayer-funded energy grid upgrade to develop new renewable energy zones.

— Ben Packham, The Australian

Coming soon, the Greens will ban planes, holidays and jokes…

Greens set 2030 cut-off for coal exports and coal-fired power stations

The Greens will propose 2030 as the cut-off point for thermal coal exports, and the shutdown date for Australia’s fleet of coal-fired power stations, in the party’s new climate and energy policy heading into the federal election.

— Katharine Murphy, The Guardian

Current thermal coal exports bring in $25 billion dollars each year. That’s a lot of money and taxes taken out of our economy. Which hospitals will the Greens close? (Maybe all of them, especially at night time). We could just ban people from getting sick?

Closing our 23GW of coal fired electricity will be a glorious collectivist fashion statement. But China is currently building seven times the entire Australian coal fleet and plans another twelve “Australian coal fleets”. China already has nearly fifty times as much coal power as Australia has. And all that is “part of the Paris agreement”. Geddit? Of course you don’t. None of it makes sense to anyone who can add up numbers bigger than two.

The Coal Council of Australia branded the Greens platform as “economic vandalism” that would threaten up to 150,000 direct and indirect jobs, and hit the governments of NSW and Queensland with the loss of $2.5bn in annual royalties.

— Ben Packham, The Australian

Shame about the 150,000 jobs lost. Still they can all move into tourism to cater for the people who are willing to sail 10,000 kilometers to an island filled with diesel generators and old rental cars.

Backpackers are bound to love the bicycle tours of solar farms and forests filled with windmills.

The party is proposing to phase out thermal coal exports by setting a yearly limit on coal exports from 2020, a set of procedures that would require resources companies to secure permits at auction in order to export product.

— Katharine Murphy, The Guardian

There are about 20 million cars currently registered in Australia. The total car pool of all electric vehicles sold here since Australia was federated is about 5,000 cars, making EV’s 0.025 per cent of all cars on the road. You can see how much we love them. Sometime in the next 11 years apparently Australian’s are going to give up the SUV’s, and long country drives:

The policy also advocates for vehicle emissions standards “that lead up to a complete ban on new internal combustion vehicles by 2030”, and a 17% tax on “luxury fossil fuel cars” to help cover the costs of scrapping registration fees, import tariffs, GST and stamp duty on electric vehicles, “reducing the cost of electric vehicles by around 20%”.

— Katharine Murphy, The Guardian

By 2030 with no coal or nukes running, the price of electricity will be $2 a KW/h (if it’s not $20) and EV’s will cost three times as much as petrol cars to drive and take 72 times as long to fill (assuming we still have electricity).

Does “internal combustion vehicle” mean more than just cars? I’m especially looking forward to battery powered combine harvesters and solar powered semi’s.

Just to make the impossible a little bit harder they won’t allow Kyoto credits:

The Greens have disavowed using Kyoto credits, which is an accounting system that allows countries to count credits from exceeding their targets under the soon-to-be-obsolete Kyoto protocol periods against their Paris emissions reduction commitments for 2030.

All the other parties in Australia must be loving this announcement. What a gift.

Even for the Labor Party, the Greens are there to make their suicidal 45%  reduction look less stupid.

The question is though, how could any party preference them anywhere except last?

    Posts from Andrew Bolt blog;

“Each one of four generator units operating at Liddell Power Station in the NSW Hunter Valley have 500 MW installed capacity, so 2,000 MW in total available with an efficiency level of around 98%, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Capital Wind Farm has 67 Wind Turbines with installed/nameplate capacity of 140 MW, when the wind blows but when nobody knows. On average a wind farm delivers around 30% of capacity, intermittently. So 140 MW is on average only 42 MW. Therefore to produce the same amount of energy produced by just one Liddell generator unit would require 804 of these Wind Turbines. To match the Liddell Power Station energy production therefore would require 3,216 Wind Turbines.

And next add the Wind Turbine back up generators needed for when the wind isn’t blowing.

Meanwhile as the transition to unreliable energy continues our electricity pricing rises, businesses fail, eventually only the very well off people will be able to afford power.

The Paris Agreement and related emissions target is undermining our economy and our way of life, national prosperity in decline.

To feed through to backup of pumping or batteries lose 20% of the output, so you need to go to 3,860 units.

The big units need about 9 hectares of cleared land around them. That adds up to around 350 square kilometres of cleared land in perfect locations, of which there are few.

That’s also about 4,000 kilometres of extra power lines.

Plus a 15,440 MW bank of pumps and a new 2,000 hydro generators and dams system a for a few billion extra. That would add $30-40 Billion on top of the cost of the wind farms themselves. Maintenance of that massive system would be more than maintaining the coal fired plant. Plus throw away the wind units every 20 years.

The cost to replace the Liddell Power Station with a brand new one would run to around $6 Billion.

If one of those Liddell Power Station units is down for a fault or for maintenance, the other three will take up the slack and no one will notice the difference.

However if the wind does not blow, or if it blows too hard, every one of those 3,216 Wind Turbines will shut down and the power generated will fall to zero.
Now I call that smart – NOT”

    Comments please.

Depending on the politician it’s called anything from ignorance to treason. This applies to the LNP, ALP and Greens. A vote for any one of them is a vote for the destruction of this once great nation.

Australian society is made up of people who create institutions organisations businesses etc.
These include governance, (parliament and law)
business, educational down to families and individuals

As such, it can be likened to a complex organism (head heart, lungs skeleton, muscles organs etc.)

When a body is healthy <it indicates all the internal functions are working together to create a harmonious outcome

However in a body we have cancer cells, these are generally kept in check by the bodies own immune system as well as a healthy diet exercise and positive mental attitude medical professionals etc

In Australian society, the greens have morphed from a benign tumor, into the equivalent of a full blown aggressive cancer.

Their whole purpose now is to destroy the organism, ie our modern western society, cell by cell,(individuals) organ by organ.(institutions such as media and education)
Once they get into the blood stream (the economy) they will accelerate exponentially.

Once they get to the brain (Government and the judiciary) the organism, as we know it, will be die.

All their policies are about destruction of western society

The irony of this is that there will be no green utopia with them selves as totalitarian ruling class, it will merely create a vacuum where someone who pays lip service to all this Bulldust, will walk in and take over (China, Indonesia, India?)
If we don't address this cancer head on then, it will either a slow or rapid death spiral for our current way of life

    Mission Impossible: “100% renewable”.

In 1347 – 1351 the Black Death wiped out an estimated 50% of the population of Eurasia because they didn’t know and didn’t understand.

The Green Death intends to ultimately achieve the same because they believe they know and think they understand.

The Green Death. Call it what it is; the deadly cult of economic and societal Green-immolation to Gaia for literally nothing but ideological delusion. Had the World known Mao Zedong was going to purge 70M people in the Chinese Communist cultural revolution, would the Communists have been tolerated long enough for that to have taken place? Likewise the Nartsies? Would they have been tolerated and indulged had we all known what was coming?

    So this time we do.
And the answer is emphatically and absolutely, no.

      THE OBITUARY

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, COMMON SENSE, who’s been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He’ll be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as:

      · Knowing when to come in out of the rain
      · Why the early bird gets the worm
      · Life isn’t always fair
      · Maybe it was my fault

COMMON SENSE lived by simple, sound financial policies (don’t spend more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in charge).

His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate, teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student only worsened his condition.

COMMON SENSE lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children.

COMMON SENSE lost the will to live as the churches became businesses and criminals received better treatment than their victims.

COMMON SENSE took a beating when you couldn’t defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault.

COMMON SENSE finally gave up the will to live, after some useless twit failed to realise that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. Said twit spilled a little in her lap and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.

COMMON SENSE was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust, by his wife Discretion, by his daughter Responsibility and by his son, Reason.

He’s survived by his 4 stepbrothers:

      · I Know My Rights
      · I Want It Now
      · Someone Else Is To Blame
      · I’m A Victim

Not many attended the funeral of COMMON SENSE because so few realised he was gone.

Yet Morrison is more worried about ON and placing them below ALP when voting who happen to be close allies of the Greens. I suppose Morrison has decided he doesn’t want to save Australia from the ALP+Greens demolition team. He has proven yet again he is clueless. Also who cares whether it’s 100%, 45% or 25%. The LNP, ALP and Greens together are trying their best to destroy Australia. The first is effectively by a nuke, the second by a wave of bombers and the last by sabotage. Crash and burn one way or another here we come.

“This reminds me of the cartoon with chalk board and equations, and a lab-coated guy pointing to where a miracle happens.”

The point where “a miracle happens” is where somebody will “do something” to make their plan work so they don’t have to know what that something is.

In Ayn Rand’s Atlas Shrugged James Taggart puts it this way: “I want this kind of world, today’s world, it gives me my share of authority, it allows me to feel important. Make it work for me! Do Something! How do I know what? It’s your problem and your duty!”

there’s a lot of issues with a hydrogen energy regime, even with ammonia as an intermediary. The logical steps would be to develop it with the benefit of baseload to prove the scheme (i doubt it is valid). It’s crazy to scrap a working system in order to develop some speculative scheme.

If only the Liberal/National Parties would make a stand. Green energy, immigration, death taxes, windmills, blowing up power stations, stopping gas search, closing forests, closing streets, traffic jams.

The Green/Labor people are so certain of Victory, they are mad with power, our power and our money.

Death taxes, roaring land taxes, boat people, uncontrolled immigration, rocketing gas prices, taking whole states to diesel fuel and shrinking gas supplies and now demanding we stop our exports.

Consider that our other major export of iron ore requires equal amounts of coal. Iron ore will be next. You cannot make steel without coal. It was the discovery which saved Europe’s forests and steel was the discovery which created the modern industrial world. So we will be slammed back into medieval times, even the dark ages where life was so good.

Then we have to get rid of herbivores because they fart methane.

To vote to utterly destroy our country is beyond comprehension. Green is chlorophyll, a long chain hydrocarbon and turns into oil and gas and coal. No fishing, no agriculture, no cars, no power, no exports, no wealth. For what? To save the planet? That doesn’t even make sense.

Morrison needs to bring back Abbott and take the Green/Labor policies head on. Abbott and Morrison made sense. As the Green vote is collapsing in the US, so it could in Australia. Green policies are not caring sensitive policies, they are unbelievable economic vandalism and beyond stupidity. Surely no turkey votes for an early Christmas?

Plus if the Liberal/Country Parties want to get the One Nation vote, they need to understand how angry people are with the Greens and the Liberals and the National party, not just ask people to vote differently.

As the Liberals/National Party have nothing to lose now, why are they marching towards the cliff? Why not make a stand? Why not dismantle the RET and drop electricity prices, drop gas prices, open gas exploration, restart manufacturing. Councils have even stopped recycling, as the recyling companies are going broke. Everything is going to land fill. No one can afford the energy to recycle.

Greens, the communists against natural selection, natural variation, cows, natural fuels and manufacturing and transport. Green jobs. The ultimate oxymoron.

In the Australian today, rampant communist extremist lawyer Adam Bandt tells us we need to get out of the US alliance. Plus “coal kills”. This is beyond madness, that a man dresses in suit and tell us straight faced that we should jump off a cliff. Because he wants it. As he said once, “tell them what they want to hear and when we get power, we will do what we like”. That’s the hardly secret Green agenda. Also the communist one, in the manner of mass m*rderers Lenin and Stalin. His heroes.

They probably think there’s money and prestige in it if they suck up to the UN and they’re using the current climate fad (hysteria) to gather more votes from the stupid side of the populace. Little do they realise they won’t have ivory towers to live in as the UN will own them and kick them out into little boxes to live with the plebs.

Councils have even stopped recycling, as the recyling companies are going broke. Everything is going to land fill. No one can afford the energy to recycle.

China’s stopped taking our recyclables. Yes, China! We can’t even do that in our own country, likely because of the Green Blob, again.

By all means , lets have the trial. Wind down the coal plants and send all their people on taxpayer funded paid leave for 3 months. Lets see how we go, we are supposed to already have enough renewables, which are just held back by an evil conspiracy. Should by some unforseen chance / technical glitch / law of physics the trial not work all that well, the facilities and the staff will be there to resume production.

After her complete rejection by the US Senate, Ocasio Cortez should migrate to Australia where she would be seen as a policy genius and energy Oracle. Interesting times.

While Turnbull as PM the government set aside $300 million for promotion of EV, Macquarie Bank Leasing apparently received $100 million to push fleet operators into EV.

The NRMA of NSW has been pushing for EV for a couple of years to date.

In 2016 the government quietly passed legislation with support from Labor Green, a carbon tax but called emissions abatement levy or something like that. It targets coal fired power stations I understand but could be extended to liquid fossil fuels without needing amendment.

I think that the Greens are expressing what the government and opposition Labor will not talk about. Socialism (globalism) masquerading as environmentalism, as former PM Abbott described the political agendas.

Is it safe for animals to coexist with solar panels or wind turbines?

    Apparently not!

French farmers say wind turbines and solar panels have killed hundreds of their cows

They claim these examinations revealed wind turbines and solar panels are releasing too much electricity into the ground, which is slowly killing their animals.

Some thoughts on EVs and on how a private industry may not be what it seems these days…

Imagine Henry Ford, his workday and the level of his involvement.

Let’s say Henry decides he’s not doing enough in this world as a revolutionary vehicle manufacturer so he knocks off around ten in the morning, changes shirts, and crosses the road to become head of a Space Agency. Now he’s Henry von Braun.

After a few hours of Space Agency and quick bite (with maybe a snort of two) he pops over to another side of town to become head of a world-changing civil engineering enterprise. He’s become Henry Brunel!

But the day is still young. After some refreshments (not necessarily legal) our Henry decides to head up a huge and revolutionary transport operation. Meet Henry Westinghouse!

Now, after a quick burst of activity as head of a revolutionary energy company (he’s still Westinghouse, we think), Henry goes partying, maybe with some of the unemployed baristas he uses as cheer squads for his rocket launches. Partying being his main gig.

Oh, and he’s going to Mars. As you do.

This is what we are expected to believe. Is it any wonder that white elephants like cars that are subsidies on wheels and take half an hour to fill can be thrust on us? We need to get the media out of our lives and heads so we can start to think again.

Start thinking again. Either that, or buy the coffee franchise at an EV fill station.

Having the Greens propose the impossible has its advantages. As with the GND, it is a wake up call. This is especially true with the car proposal. Almost no voters understand electricity, but they all love their cars.

That’s why the power hungry Greens are attacking coal. The man in the street does not understand it powers his life. He is easily convinced that black coal is dirty.

Really, who believes trees and insects and people are all made from carbon dioxide. You cannot even see the stuff and as even Tony Abbott said, it is weightless.

Greens trade on the science ignorance of a population. History is being killed off too, so no one can learn from the past. Last night I had to listen to an extended thanks to the aborigines, the traditional owners. I have to say that in 50,000 years, they did nothing.

The lunatic fringe think we can run very fast trains on renewables.

In sparsely populated huge places like Australia, high speed rail makes no sense at all, even between capitals. With Australia’s sprawling cities, the intracity commute means would be far cheaper and faster to drive.

Besides, any costing on this huge exercise would end up with tickets from Melbourne to Brisbane of $1000 each way, if it was packed. Of course it would be empty.

It is only for people who have a real fear of flying, but if you think flying is dangerous at 900km/hr is dangerous, trains at 350km/hr are vastly more dangerous because they can hit things and take many km to stop. A train crash would kill many more people than a plane crash. 2,000 people per train.

The craziest is Alexandria Occasional Cortex in America who wants people to do all their travel by train. You can imagine that, the train to Hawaii or Alaska or Puerto Rico or Paris. Or Thanksgiving when currently 3 million fly just on Thanksgiving eve. How could you get there and back on a train? Still, she represents the l**ny fringe. They are called the Democrats.

The coming election will feature decentralisation as a way to ease congestion in the capital cities. Very fast rail is meant to overcome the tyranny of distance, so new immigrants will find the rural and regional areas attractive places to live.

My crystal ball shows all this happening, but I cannot tell if a continental bullet train network could run on renewables?

Even TonyfromOz will admit that year by year renewables are taking a larger share of the electricity market. Rooftop installations are cracking along. Victoria and Western Australian and Queensland are working on grid scale batteries. Queensland is investing in recharging stations for the EV fleet (who would have thought). More and more countries are banning diesel from their CBD’s, more and more automakers are phasing out petrol and diesel models.

The 30 billion hit on a GDP of 145 Billion is significant, but how much of that actually stays in Australia, noting that even Australian miners do not pay much in net tax.

Of course, as the horse and buggy industry found out, change can be catastrophic, but this is capitalism we are working in, new markets will develop like they did in the past.

Remember, the stone age did not end because we ran of stones.

I too will admit that year by year renewables are taking a larger share of the electricity market. I’ll also admit that year by year white ants can eat out my house.

Change was, indeed, catastrophic for the horse and buggy industry. It was not catastrophic for the purposes horses and buggies were meant to serve.

The stone age did not end when we ran out of stones. It ended with the smelting of metals because people were free to use the principle of combustion. Just as well Emperor Grok and Queen Shlauk didn’t ban fire.

This is capitalism, this is the market economy…so good things will just happen! It’s right there in Adam Smith! These moldy old conservatives are left speechless when you say “market”. It should be Chapter One in the GeeUp handbook. Just say “market” all the time, like Julia did. And remember…big business is on board!

Ahh Peter Fitzroy, selective cherry picking again I see.

At 4AM, EVERY SINGLE MORNING, every day of every year, at the time when virtually all Australians are tucked up neatly in bed, Australia is consuming ….. 18000MW of power, not just on the occasional cherry picked day, but that’s the average for the year. In Spring and Autumn it averages 17500MW, and in Summer and Winter it average around 18500MW, and there were days when I saw it up over 21000MW, but 18000MW is that year round average.

      EIGHTEEN THOUSAND MEGAWATTS

82% of that (also averaged aross the whole year) comes from coal fired power.

That minimum of 18000MW is a cast iron absolute.

At 4AM, there is no solar power, and there is no rooftop solar power.

Until the Greens, or even anyone at all can find 18000MW as the absolute minimum, no questions asked, because it HAS to be there, then there is a long long future for coal fired power, the only (here in Australia) power generating source actually capable of delivering that on a constant, reliable and absolute basis.

That’s not a guess, that figure of 18000MW. It’s been that for many many years now, and it won’t miraculously change by wishing it to change.

      It’s ABSOLUTE.

      Tony.

That 18000mwh will change if these clowns get their way..

They propose to get rid of internal combustion engine driven cars to be replaced by electric vehicles. Those vehicles will be recharged at night in the vast majority of cases.

Roughly recharging those vehicles every day on average require about 430gwh of power every night. Currently from 6pm to 6am we require about 260 gwh. So without coal how are these clowns going to generate 690 gwh. This is to maintain the current requirement and not what demand would be in 2030.

Where is the ABC calling these clowns out? They just need to do a bit of basic maths to show how ludicrous this all is.

In South Australia they have to limit the generation of wind power to about 1250 mwh maximum to maintain the stability of the grid. This is about 70% of their nameplate capacity. This will apply in other states as the generation mix changes in favour of wind generation. I have an email from AEMO confirming this. It is madness.

This is what happens when politics trumps reality.

Ah, come on Peter Fitzroy, I know you’re just having a bit of fun here, because not even you believe wind power can deliver 94% of that 18000MW on an absolute basis, let alone even get to within cooee of doing it by 2030.

And that’s just to reach the minimum. The average is 24000MW per day with peaks, to 32000MW.

And if you think batteries are going to help, remember you still need the power to charge them up in the first place, for the tiniest fraction of the 1% they might ever get to.

          You’re just ‘stirring’.

          Tony.

China has the Australian total generated power from coal fired sources multiplied by 33, and the total yearly Australian coal fired generation is being constructed every 23 weeks, just using last year’s figures alone.

They’ll keep doing that for many years now, ALL of it coal fired power, all of it with a lifespan of 50 years, so that looks like a little more than ONE generation to me.

          And that’s just China.

The only place coal is ending is, umm, well not even here really, because even Labor in Queensland says their plants will be operational until they time expire, and the last of them with a 50 year life span is 2060, and even that is more than one generation.

BEIJING: China added 194 million tonnes of coal mining capacity in 2018, data from the energy bureau showed on Tuesday, despite vows to eliminate excess capacity in the sector and to reduce fossil fuel consumption.

    https://energy.economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/coal/china-boosts-coal-mining-capacity-despite-climate-pledges/68580590

Chinese increase in coal production of 194 million tons will create CO2 emissions as large as all of Australia.
    Ever think you were insignificant?
    You should.

Current policies hurt Australians but do zip to change the world.

Why won’t Australian political elites help Australian hard working deplorables get ahead?

Not exactly on the subject, but still…

I love staghorns and elkhorn plants so visiting Sunshine Coast Hinterland I looked for them everywhere.
To my surprise the most of them I saw was on roads the edge and especially along car parking spots in popular touristy places – some trees have multitude of small new ones from the ground up – just where you’d think exhaust fumes would kill everything green !

first, ABC has spent a good part of the last 2 years being outraged that Trump colluded with a foreign country, Russia, to influence the outcome of the 2016 US presidential election. they were wrong.

now, ABC appears to be on board with Qatar’s government-owned Aljazeera, in trying to influence the outcome of the Australian Federal election in 2019.

    Wikipedia: Natural gas in Qatar
According to the Oil & Gas Journal, as of January 1, 2011, reserves of natural gas in Qatar were measured at approximately 896 trillion cubic feet (25.4 trillion cubic metres); this measurement means that the state contains 14% of all known natural-gas reserves, as the world’s third-largest reserves, behind Russia and Iran…
While Qatar is a member of the OPEC and is a significant oil producer, the government has devoted more resources to the development of natural gas in the contemporary era, particularly for export as liquefied natural gas (LNG). In 2006, Qatar reportedly surpassed Indonesia to become the largest exporter of LNG in the world…
Together, revenues from the oil and natural-gas sectors amount to 60% of the country’s GDP. Domestically, the vast majority of Qatar’s total energy consumption comes from natural gas (79%), whilst the balance is supplied by oil.[

27 Mar: DesmogUK: Guns, Climate Denial and Conspiracies: Al Jazeera Captures Australian Far Right Political Figures Meeting Koch Industries
    By Graham Readfearn
Sitting in the offices of Koch Industries in Washington D.C., far-right Australian politician Steve Dickson shows his hand in a request for their cash.
“This lefty attitude that just thinks solar and wind are going to change the world for the better … it’s sending us all broke,” Dickson, the Queensland leader of the political party One Nation, told Koch Industries director of federal affairs Catherine Haggett.
The exchange with the petrochemical giants, from September 2018, is part of a blockbuster hidden-camera investigative series released by Al Jazeera…

Koch Industries billionaire owners Charles and David Koch have pumped their influence, and their millions, into a wide network of libertarian and conservative lobby groups and think tanks that push climate science denial, promote fossil fuel use, and block climate-friendly policies.
In the meeting, Ashby complains that Australia is “turning socialist” before Haggett adds: “We are too, and when you look at the data of young people and how they perceive socialism, it’s terrifying.”…

When Donald Trump won the 2016 U.S. Presidential election, Hanson joined former One Nation senator and climate science denier Malcolm Roberts to drink champagne in front of Parliament House in the Australian capital…
With them drinking champagne was American climate science denier and blogger Tony Heller, who had been in Australia with Roberts…
“We will free the world of this rubbish they call climate change,” said a jubilant Malcolm Roberts. Roberts would later leave the Senate after it was discovered his British citizenship should have disqualified him from standing…

In December 2016, Roberts traveled to Washington, D.C., to meet with a who’s who of climate science denial, including Heller.
Several of the people Roberts met, work at Koch- and fossil fuel-funded think tanks, including Patrick Michaels of the Cato Institute, and Myron Ebell of the Competitive Enterprise Institute…

      ABC – topic “One Nation”

Why I decided to infiltrate One Nation and the NRA
      by Peter Charley

      actual headline:

27 Mar: ABC Op-ed: Hidden cameras and fake websites: Inside the investigation into One Nation’s bid for NRA donations
      By Peter Charley
(Peter Charley is executive producer of Al Jazeera’s Investigative Unit based in Washington, DC)
It all started in 2015 with a ride to the airport. I was driving from Washington DC to make a flight overseas when I heard a report on the radio of yet another mass shooting in America…
When Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama pointed to Australia’s gun legislation, they were accused by the NRA of being “gun-grabbers”, intent on repealing America’s Second Amendment — the right of US citizens to “keep and bear arms”.

It seemed logical to me that if the NRA was so vehemently opposed to the Australian laws, they’d most likely be pleased to hear from an Australian who shared their views.
So, with guidance from media lawyers in Australia, the United States and the United Kingdom, I created a pro-gun group which I called Gun Rights Australia, and I appointed Rodger Muller to be its founder and president…
His mission was to befriend officials within the NRA by expressing concern about Australia’s laws being too strict…
I hired a second undercover reporter, Diana Armata* (*Not her real name), who presented herself as Mr Muller’s communications director…

The film’s connection to One Nation only began in 2018, after I read an article in a Queensland newspaper claiming that Australia’s One Nation party had received funding from an NRA-affiliated organisation within Australia.
The article led me to wonder whether any direct connection existed between One Nation and the NRA, so I asked Mr Muller to visit the party to find out…

      Wikipedia: Peter Charley
Between 2000 and 2007, Peter worked as Executive Producer of the ABC’s flagship news program, Lateline. He then joined Australia’s SBS television as Executive Producer of the international current affairs program, Dateline – a position he held for seven years. In 2014, Peter left Dateline to take up the role of Executive Producer of Al Jazeera’s North American investigative unit, based in Washington DC.

28 Mar: ABC: One Nation MP Mark Latham describes Al Jazeera gun lobby donation story as ‘media entrapment’
By state political reporter Jessica Kidd
Mr Latham today accused the ABC of working with Al Jazeera to conduct the investigation, which was carried out by Al Jazeera executive producer Peter Charley.
“Peter Charley used to work for the ABC, he’s the bloke behind the Al Jazeera sting,” Mr Latham said.
“George Megalogenis, an ABC character, is interviewed as part of the program so I assume the ABC had updates as to how the entrapment was going and now of course they’re feeding off it in their various news outlets.
“So the ABC has seemingly been party to the targeting of One Nation in a way that is fundamentally dishonest.”…

A spokeswoman for the ABC said the organisation was not involved in the making of the Al Jazeera program in any way.
“The Al Jazeera documentary ‘How To Sell A Massacre’ was commissioned and produced by Al Jazeera’s Investigative Unit,” the spokeswoman said.
“Al Jazeera approached the ABC about the documentary and we acquired the broadcast rights according to our usual procedures.
“The ABC judged that it was clearly in the public interest that Australians had the opportunity to see this material for themselves.
“The reaction of the Australian public to these revelations has supported that decision.”
The ABC contacted Mr Megalogenis for comment (NO COMMENT FROM HIM IN THIS PIECE)…
        https://www.abc.net.au/news/2019-03-27/one-nation-mp-mark-latham-calls-gun-lobby-story-entrapment/10943504

        from comment at MichaelSmithNews:
        Denise said…
Aljazeera is behind the program so I assume they would have an agenda to discredit One Nation. George Megalogenis who comments near the end that he thinks the program may sink One Nation was once married to Annastacia Palaszczuk. He is author of “The Australian Moment”, a book praised by Annabel Crabb and David Marr. He is supposed to be a regular guest on Insiders. I’m sure ABC types would not support One Nation.

The program states the B.Graham of NRA would try to connect One Nation with Koch Industries whose massive political donations helped put Donald Trump in office. I don’t know who is correct but according to Wikipedia the Koch Brothers decided not to donate to the Trump campaign and focus on the senate and Congress instead…

TWEET: George Megalogenis: Al Jazeera aired first ep. overnight. Timing was theirs, not the ABC’s. It would have been nice if @RealMarkLatham was asked about it before polling day. 28 Feb: ABC Between The Lines: How Canberra’s leadership circus is damaging ties with Asia
‘Rookie’ Prime Ministers are ruining our international reputation.
So says George Megalogenis in the current issue of ***Australian Foreign Affairs…

        ***launch of Australian Foreign Affairs:

Archives 2013-2018: Minister for Foreign Affairs, Julie Bishop:
Jonathan Pearlman, Morry Schwartz, distinguished diplomats, Chancellor of the ANU Gareth Evans – and former Foreign Minister – Mark Dreyfus representing the Opposition, Members of Parliament, authors, ladies and gentlemen all…
If you log on to the State Department website you’ll see some 60 think tanks listed as being those whose work is valued by the US, the State Department and governments around the world.
Of course, this is an elite group amongst a much broader community of think tanks – I think there’s something like 400 foreign policy think tanks in Washington DC alone…

I believe that Australian Foreign Affairs will be a valuable contribution to debate and discussion here and around the world, for our academics and intellectuals and policy analysts stand with the very best in the international community, and it is important for our commentators, intellectuals, analysts to have a platform to propagate and test their ideas. Hence Australian Foreign Affairs.

There are a distinguished list of contributors from Paul Keating, a former Prime Minister; Allan Gyngell, formerly the head of ONA, in fact a foreign policy adviser to Prime Minister Keating and founder of the Lowy Institute; Linda Jakobson, an expert on all matters China; ***George Megalogenis, an independent writer and former distinguished member of the Canberra press gallery; James Curren, an historian and expert on the ANZUS alliance; and John Delury who is an expert on the Korean Peninsula…

This inaugural issue of Australian Foreign Affairs deals with many of the challenging issues that confront us today in an increasingly contested and volatile and uncertain world – from the impact of the Trump Administration on Australia on our region, from the management of North Korea under the regime of Kin Jong Un, to what it means to have an independent foreign policy, to the transition from Australia as Anglo-Euro to Eurasian, and many more…

I’m delighted by the timing of this contribution for the Australian Government will shortly release the Australian Foreign Policy White Paper of 2017…

As we enter our 27th consecutive year of uninterrupted economic growth – a feat not accomplished by any other nation at any other time – Australia is an increasingly strong voice on the world stage.
Indeed this will answer Paul Keating’s question, for it will contain an independent foreign policy…

I have great pleasure in launching Australian Foreign Affairs.

This clearly is media entrapment, by a foreign government-owned media organization. If the US wanted to search out Russian involvement in attempting to influence US elections, surely the Australian government should seek information on AlJazeera’s motives and political objectives. And look who advertises on their website – The Age, and Scenic Tours (that removed advertising from Sky after a twitter attack).
And their “code of ethics”: Adhere to the journalistic values of honesty, courage, fairness, balance, independence, credibility and diversity, giving no priority to commercial or political over professional consideration. Yeah, right.

I have a great idea for a Green windmill driven car. Mounted on the roof, the faster you go, the more power you generate. You get the family all pushing to get it up to speed and pick them up at high speed with nets and poles. Every green suburb could have a large open and windy circular platform where you could get started. Again your family would have to push the car up the ramp.

When at top speed, the car battery could charge quickly and you would never need to buy lethal coal electricity again. Think of the savings.

Similar plans for wind powered trains. Plus wind powered ships which sail against the wind.

Actually we already have wind powered ships which sail against the wind using the aerodynamics of sails, but not with windmills. Windmills are the key. Look at the 500,000 windmills now powering our world. The greatest invention after ash trays for motorbikes.

        TdeF penned:

        but not with windmills.

You are well out of date. There have been wind turbine powered vessels for a very long time. This are a few examples:
        https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IzGCYaJbf0A
        https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=44&v=oKqC5JsurOk
        https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CCN2MlbVJG0
The advantage is that they can be made to go in any direction with appropriate gear ratios. Downwind the air blades become the propeller and the water blades become the turbine and they can sail faster than the wind directly down wind. Unlike DLR from cold clouds to warmer surface, sailing faster than the wind downwind does not defy any laws of physics despite many physics academics stating otherwise.

The disadvantage is that the power transmission to attain speed equivalent to a modern sail powered vessel are humungously heavy and add a lot of extra weight so performance is never impressive.

You can definitely see the potential to scale these to ocean liner/tanker/container ship size

I would like to see the catamaran in rough waters with that high centre of gravity generator.

Having served in a destroyer, built for rough weather, that could not get through Sydney Heads due to the wave height, I don’t like the chances of your wind-powered vessels being practical for even moderate sea states?

I was joking, but it seems some people believe this makes sense?

It’s almost a perfect analogy for the insanity of ‘renewable’ energy. Inadequate, silly, barely functional and unserviceable and very, very expensive.

So what about keeping animals in a cage and a methane powered engine? Free renewable power and eliminating the Global Warming at the same time?

In the recent Unthreaded, one commenter, Dave, posted a link to this new Greens Policy Platform, and I actually went and had a look at it. Amazing stuff really, and they can say all this full in the knowledge that they will never be in Government to implement it.

However, there I was scanning it through, and I noticed this, and I only included the link to show I’m not making this up, because there it is on Page 8, titled A Plan For Progress: (my bolding here)

Instead of giant, multinational coal and gas companies extracting our resources for free, polluting local environments and paying no tax, they will be replaced with the clean energy exports of the future: renewable energy, transformed into hydrogen or ammonia or exported to Asia through underwater cables.

So, not only are The Greens going to provide all the power for all Australia, they are also going to make enough to export to Asia.

We have enough problems with Basslink. Imagine the cost for something like that, and the losses over distance exporting power to Asia.

      Greetings, Mr. Tony 🙂

The “Hydrogen Economy” is a complete and utter waste of effort. That Idea has been quite fully debunked.

Even if one were so inclined to convert primary power into hydrogen, it takes 212% of the energy within the H2 to create it, compress it, ship it, and use it, from AU to Japan.

The only use of creating hydrogen is to use it as a feedstock for liquid hydrocarbon fuels, or, possibly, as ammonia. But. once again, the cycle efficiencies are much less than fossil fuels, nuclear, coal or any method except windmills and solar panels.

TFO, it is far worse than we think. I have migrated to Oz 12 years ago. In all spheres of my daily life (church, golf, work and social events) I make an attempt to “educate” my fellow Australians on environmentalism. I have given up (I am a semi-retired engineer, major in thermodynamics). At least 95% of the population “believe” the greens, ALP & LNP that humans are destroying the planet, Co2 is pollution, CAGW, etc. It took almost a year to convince my wife that we should migrate to Oz (we are from an African country which is now becoming another sh*thole). A key factor in getting her “over the line” was that I was convinced that Australians have many of our and our ancestors character traits, which are: challenge the MSM, verify the story/information with other/unbiased sources, vote smart, challenge local, state & federal government policies, etc. Sad to say, we have had the opposite experience. Australians are gullible, follow fashion blindly, are ill informed/lazy to do their homework on a subject (e.g. climate change, elec. generation), to tolerant (37 years ago when the last dam was build but allow governments mass immigration programs). People genuinely believe that Co2 is pollution, coal is dirty, windmills (satans crucifixes), solar and EV’s are the future. Australia’s future looks bleak with 10% greens and the other 85% use full idiots.

Staal – true of some Australians. Depends where you hang out. We are a nation of sleepers now, lucky beyond words, complacent, duped by the illusion of a “balanced” education and free media when we have state controlled monopolies effectively running in both.

I find anyone in Australia without a uni degree, or who has one but works in mining/farming/engineering is mostly skeptical. But in the wealthy lawyer and arts suburbs the religion runs strong.

I found the more I dug on Climate Change(tm) the more I found it to be nonsense and lacking any form of scientific cred. But then as you know, I’m pretty quick to challenge stuff that doesnt look right and I also think you need to be comfortable challenging the majority and authority ( note: this doesnt mean advocating anarchy, rather being willing to ask difficult questions of those who are in authority ), even if it means you make many enemies along the way.

Wisdom and righteousness are good friends, and need to stand together to effectively fight stupidity and ignorance.

        Lance,

no problems at all with ….. anything you say, at any time, and on any subject. I find your comments most informative.

Odd isn’t it. Tell people it takes 212% of the energy to reverse the process, and it flies over their heads at sub orbital level.

It’s similar with EV’s as well. Just ask them where the power is supposed to come from, and look at the vacant looks on their faces.

And they still classify grid scale batteries as ….. NEW power, or to charge them they will use renewable energy. So then tell them, they either use that renewable energy as it is generated or divert it to charge the batteries. One or the other. You can’t do both. Again, vacant looks.

As long as their electricity comes out of the proverbial ‘hole in the wall’, they will think that ALL electrical power is equal.

I have another example of the ‘green dream powered by fairy dust and unicorn flatulence”.

          The Advertiser March 27 2019 P57:
Winemaker Pernod Ricard is installing 2.8mW (sic) solar to cover 20% of their power needs with a contract with Flow Power for the remainder, to come from a mix of solar and wind resources.

The issues I see with this:
          1. the article states the solar panels are rated at 2.8mW (that means milliwatts, not watts) so the reporter, Valerina Changarathil, needs some basic unit nomenclature instruction, not that precision or accuracy are required in their Brave New World

          2. The panels are expected to generate 4000mWh (wrong unit), the equivalent of the electricity consumed annually by 800 SA households.
          4,000MWh/800 = 5MWh = 5,000KWh
5,000KWh/365 = 13.7kWh/day – This seems low to me but I could not find data on average household use to compare to. Personally, I use 23kWh/day (retired, 2 person household)

          3. Flow Power would be hard-pressed to supply 100% wind/solar energy as there are no renewable-only supply lines. When the wind don’t blow and the sun don’t shine, gas and coal (in SA, at least) are supplying the power. Flow Power’s web site states:

With Flow Power you can buy solar and wind energy in bulk straight from the generator for less than half market rates. Just buy the rest from the market

Interestingly, another article at the top of the same page is titled:
Electricity price rise a real risk for our small business

This relates to the unintended consequences of the Feds setting default prices for users of 20MWh+ but leaving the smaller players open to some price increases to offset the losses from the larger businesses.

            John in Oz:

The average consumption is said to be 18kW per day. I use about 8.5 but have gas for heating and stove top.
The figures, if accurate, say that the generation from the panels is just over 14% of the stated value. I would have expected a higher figure depending on where they are installed (17% is not impossible).
Of course those panels will lose capacity as they age.

P.S. SA gets all its coal fired electricity from Victoria. It uses gas and diesel for reliable generation.

Every country using any version of the gauntlet voting system imposed on Australians at gunpoint (there are, what…. six?) has ghastly problems. Some are mohammedan-style theocracies, and none permit anything resembling individual rights. Even if every Australian were willing to drive a nuclear-electric car powered by Seebeck effect chargers, the econazis and their gauntlet-survivor politicians chosen by slaves at gunpoint would (I’ll wager) never permit THAT. And the system is rigged to make a libertarian party impossible–as it is in every disgusting dictatorship one cares to examine. You have my pity, but I cannot imagine what could save you saddled with those fake elections under coerced voting.

A radio station I was listening to was seeking listeners opinions about daylight saving. It happens about this time of the year. The first caller suggested that we should have daylight saving permanently, his reason being power saving for junior football clubs. With daylight saving they don’t have to turn on the flood lights as early thereby saving the club money. Any Greens who heard such an idea would probably see it as a way for everybody to save energy.

ABC clearly knew of the Aljazeera “One Nation” program prior to its release, which may explain some of the relentless push to get Scott Morrison to throw One Nation under the bus.

a terrible atrocity occurs in Christchurch, New Zealand, and it seems the Australian MSM exploited it with endless calls for the Coalition to state they would put One Nation last on the ballot in the upcoming election. this continued daily right up to the release of the Aljaz docu and its showing on ABC, and the release of the Green manifesto.
eventually, MSM & other interested parties got the result they wanted.

a long and fascinating tale – read all:

27 Mar: ArutzShevaIsrael: New documentary presents tough Q&A about Qatar
In an era of obsession with Russia, ‘Blood Money’ asks 23 minutes of tough questions about Qatar.
      by Sam Cohen
Why do countless headlines focus on Russian collusion rather than on Qatari hacking, media manipulation, think tank funding, and terror sponsorship?
It’s one of the central questions raised in “Blood Money,” the new documentary by journalist Mike Cernovich. In 23 fast-paced minutes, Cernovich dissects the web of Qatar’s influence-buying campaign on U.S. soil with interspersed commentary from security experts J. Michael Waller, vice president of the Center for Security Policy; David Reaboi, senior vice president of the Security Studies Group; and Jack Posobiec, a host for the One America News Network…

Cernovich’s research pointed him to Qatar — which was validated by the warnings he says were sent his way that making this film “would come at great risk to my life, to my safety, and that I’d better have ‘everything locked down tightly.’” Meanwhile, when he raised the subject of the film with one political reporter, the reporter swiftly asked him: “Who’s paying you?” Cernovich responded “nobody,” yet explains that the reporter’s question underscores just how pervasive the influence-buying epidemic has become in Washington.
“Qatar is excellent at playing the game,” Waller says in the film. “You fund think tanks to put out policy papers that support what you want, and then you fund law firms to sue people you don’t like. There’s pay-to-play journalism, a huge amount of foreign-funded news and commentary that we all take in as real thoughts and real news coming from real American citizens.”…

Posobiec says that when it comes to influence-buying, “the real money isn’t coming from Russia. It’s coming from China, it’s coming from Ukraine, it’s coming from Qatar…But that’s the game. These people go and take money from other countries, and they run articles, they run op-eds, they go on TV programs. They’re propagandizing to our people, and we do nothing about it.” He specifically notes AJ+, the online channel run by the Qatari state-funded broadcaster Al Jazeera, which “makes viral videos every day. Everybody retweets them, everybody shares them on Instagram. That’s an influence operation.”

Indeed, a growing number of reports in recent months have unpacked the Qatari government’s unprecedented lobbying, cyber espionage, and disinformation efforts on American soil…

In a nutshell, that’s precisely the purpose of “Blood Money” — to at least get Americans to start asking the difficult questions about Qatar rather than remaining laser-focused on Russia. And in an efficient 23 minutes, the documentary is well worth your time.

Breitbart today on Cernovich’s “Hoaxed” documentary – read all:

AUDIO: 17min41sec: 28 Mar: Breitbart: Mike Cernovich: ‘There Is a New Hoax Every Day’ with Corporate Media
        by Allum Bokhari
Documentary filmmaker Mike Cernovich joined Breitbart News editor-in-chief Alex Marlow on Breitbart News Daily today, where he discussed Hoaxed, his feature documentary exposing bias and deliberate falsehoods pushed by the mainstream media, as well as his efforts to unseal court records in the Jeffrey Epstein case…

Marlow and Cernovich also discussed how the mainstream media holds the right, including non-journalists, to standards far higher than what they hold themselves to
“Here’s a great example,” said Cernovich. “Mehdi Hasan, who’s big at Al Jazeera — which is owned by Qatar — and [who’s] now a CNN golden child … He goes around [saying] everybody’s a bigot, everybody’s a homophobe … This guy’s said some really bad stuff, way worse than Tucker Carlson, way worse than anything conservative media personalities say.”…

Footage recently surfaced of Hasan, who regularly appears on mainstream media channels, comparing non-Muslims to animals, atheists to “cattle,” and gays to sexual deviants and pedophiles.
“The media’s not going to bring that up every time they talk about him” explained Cernovich…
“They’ll just treat him as a straight-laced journalist, and pretend as if all of this stuff that he’s said, the fact that he works for state-owned media is not relevant at all.”…

Cernovich recently announced the upcoming release of Blood Money, his new documentary about the influence of Qatari money and Qatari lobbying in American politics.

It’s so easy to punch holes in this policy. Here’s a few inconvenient truths.

Electric cars need batteries, todays best technologies use Lithium, most of the worlds Li comes from Russia, is the west going to give Russia that much control.

high efficiency electric motors need rare earth metals (REMs) most of this comes from China and they have been reducing their exports to keep it for themselves so they can corner the market on electric devises.

At the current level of production all the REMs being mined could only make 5,000,000 vehicles per year, we currently produce 60,000,000.

Liquid hydrogen has a density of 0.078, LPG 0.495, petrol 0.77, crude oil 0.9. So to transport hydrogen we will need ships 10 times bigger than todays, or ten times more of them.

We can’t make solar or wind aeroplanes and hydrogen powered passenger planes will only work if we remove all the passengers and fill the fuselage with hydrogen tanks.

We can be sure that we will still be exporting coal and driving oil powered cars and planes in 100 years time.

    50

      Neil:

Much of the world’s lithium is ‘mined’ in South America as dissolved liquid. Chile, Argentina, Bolivia. Extracting it from Spondumene ore is also happening and the largest producer using this method is Australia, with China not that far behind.

31 May 2018: SportingShooter: $1 million Blitz on Feral Pigs – Potential Pig Bounty
    By Michael Gibson
Feral pigs continue to be a major issue in North Queensland. It is predicted that a $1 Million dollar blitz will be detailed in the upcoming state budget…
The North Queensland Register reported Agriculture Minister Mark Furner said the State Government would inject an additional $1 million into programs targeting feral pigs in the region.
A total of 2,460 pigs were culled in the last 12 months, with this number expected to increase after a coordinated cull in the Tully, Johnstone and Murray River catchment areas and beyond commencing in July.

***Mr Knuth said there were an estimated 24 million feral pigs in Australia, with 10 million in Queensland alone, which was double the state’s population…
He said a bounty should be introduced to encourage more recreational hunters, and that permits should be granted so they could access national parks…

found this at no2nuclearpower blog, but when you link on it, it has been removed (see Reuters’ article below):

28 Mar: BBC: Labour to outline National Grid ownership plans
Labour is set to release a policy paper outlining how it will transfer the UK’s National Grid to public ownership. In its paper, the party says the Grid – a public limited company which is listed on two stock exchanges – will be run by a new National Energy Agency.
Labour says public ownership – majority or controlling shareholding by the government – would lower bills for consumers. It would also accelerate efforts to tackle climate change.

The policy paper says that the grid should “ensure access to electricity and heat as a human right”. The new energy agency will be tasked with delivering a target of 60% of energy from low carbon or renewable sources by 2030.
It will also be responsible for the rollout of the UK’s electric vehicle charging network and development of energy storage capacity…

28 Mar: Reuters: National Grid shares fall on report of Labour party’s renationalisation plan
by Helen Reid; Additional reporting by Tanishaa Nadkar; Writing by Josephine Mason; Editing by Mark Potter and Alexandra Hudson
National Grid shares fell more than 3 percent on Thursday after the BBC reported that Britain’s main opposition Labour party is preparing to announce plans to renationalise the utility…
Traders attributed the drop to the report, which they said detailed that the left-wing Labour party would release a policy paper on Thursday outlining the plan to transfer the utility back to public ownership.
The policy rekindled lingering worries among investors about potential radical changes to public policy if Labour won a general election…

In a speech on Thursday, the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) director general Carolyn Fairbairn criticised proposals to renationalise parts of the UK’s infrastructure, utilities and public services.
She said it would cause profound harm to the country’s economy and hurt the people they are intended to help.

***Reuters was not able to view the report because it had been removed from the BBC’s website. A BBC spokesman said the report was pulled after Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn delayed a speech he was due to make on Thursday announcing the policy.

A spokeswoman for company declined to comment and the Labour party was not immediately available for comment.

I think they hope to resurrect Tesla’s dream of broadcasting power without wires and then they will have exactly electric planes, container ships and of course, electric cars without batteries. Everything will be clean and in harmony with nature.

They only need to solve one problem, how to stop all that ozone generated by all the spectacular sparks and bend a few laws of physics to get there. AOC has it all figured out right now I’ll bet.

I’ve been given a lift a couple of times by a friend who has a brand new Chevy Volt. It’s performance from a complete stop is impressive. It’s not hard to get a motor to deliver high torque at zero RPMs, whereas the combustion engine needs to get up to higher RPMs to deliver the same impressive performance. It’s too bad that battery is the limiting factor. I’m told the practical range is about 150 miles. And the performance has it’s demand for power. The panel displays instantaneous demand from the motor and I’ve seen from 30 to almost 40 kW.

I got a look under the hood too. All I found out was that I did’t recognize a ting but some wires and cables. Everything is sealed in one compact little package.

Maybe we should hope AOC does have Tesla’s problems with the physics all ironed out and perfected. Then we can toss transmissions with all their complications. and look forward to clean environmentally sound driving without the short range problem.

Well, you can believe the part about impressive performance when the “gas” pedal is put to the floor. You’ll have to talk to AOC for the rest. 😉

And of course, they do not talk about the other end where the electricity is generated. I’m sure that’s just an oversight and someone should remind them to consider it. 🙁

Comparing how things are going in Oz and America drives home one point. The politics of the freedom and success haters is not national but global. They do not like it when anyone is free to make life’s decisions unless they make one of their approved cookbook choices.

That’s been scaring me for some time. They really don’t hate success or freedom. They hate people who do not share heir Utopian dream of a world with everything in perfect harmony with their world view. It’s just coincidental that those they hate happen to be champions of freedom and self determination.

Their bottom line is this, if you walk on this earth your every second of life belongs to them to determine for you. And to achieve that they’re wiling to plunge the world into chaos thinking somehow that they can escape the inevitable collapse.

It was bone chilling yesterday to watch a House committee chairman, Adam Shiff, defiantly refuse to resign in spite of members of his own committee calling for his resignation. No. Instead he asserts that he was right all along and Donald Trump is guilty of collusion as charged and that will eventually be discovered if they don’t give up. He will destroy himself along with Donald Trump.

That’s the way they think, you will do what I say or else.

You will give up your cars, your electricity, your home belongs to them and it’s on a global scale.

Never mind investigating Hillary et al. Investigate the political class. Investigate those who show actual evidence of dishonesty going forward. If we can’t stop them we soon will have no reason to investigate anything else.

Hi Roy, interesting. Here in “Oz” over the last few Prime minister’s we have been powerless to stop apparent theft by our government officials. The allocation of AUD$444-million to a barrier reef fund and before that several special donations to worthy Clintonion, or U.N., causes.
In another era those transactions would have been seen for what they were but in the current climate they get away with it because of a very loose association with the Environment or Compassion industries.

Blatant stuff that’s basically saying that they, The Elites, are above the law.

There’s a backlash building, but we’re starting with the opposition having a four decade start in programming society in their image.

Someone should ask the Greens how many people they are prepared to kill in the name of their ideology. If you consider the effects of mass poverty, long perods without any power or water and the ensuing breakdown society as people turn to violent crime for survival, the death toll could be into the many hundreds of thousands. This is effectively eco terrorism on a scale beyond belief.
