      And more efficiently.

Can I suggest that the Battle of Britain has been commenced, if not won, this week???

I hope that we will realise the political “betters” amongst us have to earn their living as ell??

      Cheers,

        “the political โ€œbettersโ€ amongst us”
Can you imagine these “betters” trying to get a job ‘flipping burgers’ at the local FF-PLACE with no experience in anything? Can you imagine a skinny guy from Niger, showing a well dressed Bankster, the precise moment to flip over, not just this one, but all, to keep up with this moments demand? ๐Ÿ™‚
        All the best! -will-

Looks like the pro-Brexiters, like Nova have just found a way to reduce CO2 then. Funny how the anti-environmentalists claim to want to protect the economy when it comes to AGW but are happy to trash it for a purely ideological political experiment like Brexit.

It would be funny if that were her reasoning. But instead of responding to your delusions, why not respond to her given reasons?
It’s not like she’s made a secret of them.

          Looks like the pro-Brexiters..

are all over 50 has-beens still fighting WWII and railing against Che Guevara. They are the past not the future, all the young people whose lives will be most affected voted to stay and similarly would’nt be on this blog. In Potsdam the feeling is “Good riddance, the Poms have just been complaining wingers for years”.

. . all the young people whose lives will be most affected . .

            Oh, I dunno.
Even little kids can figure it out.

Funny you should mention this climateskeptic: (my bolding here)

…..are all over 50 has-beens still fighting WWII and railing against Che Guevara.

I’m 65 years old, so I suppose that applies to me, eh ….. railing against Che Guevara.

Yep, I distinctly remember doing just that as a 5 year old. There I was in Kindy, madly rabbitting on about Che and that Cuban Invasion, and all the little boys and girls joining in with me protesting at his antics.

A few years later, I also clearly remember a few one year olds (now nearly 50) debating together and saying how peaceful it was going to be when he died in 1967.

You lefties sure have no concept of time.

            Tony.

Che was a sadistic murderer with a penchant to shoot kids in the face. But I guess you too young to know that and I am to old to tell you this?

The problem is climateskeptic, you young people haven’t worked that to have your view counted you actually have to vote.
Here are some figures to consider :

Sky Data % of who got through our final #EUref poll turnout filter age group :

            18-24 36%
            25-34 58%
            35-44 72%
            45-54 75%
            55-64 81%
            65+ 83%

You see maybe it is just the fact that older people realise voting is a privilege, that one shouldn’t abused. Perhaps the young people of Australia should remember that in few weeks time.

You must be mathematically illiterate. How would you get a national average of 51.8% out of that lot. You trying to tell that half the British voters are in the 18-24 age group. Where did you get this nonsense?

Some times you just have to laugh at the irony and the chutzpah of those who had a chance to vote on exactly the same grounds as everybody else and didn’t ย or just couldn’t be bothered as the result was a going to be a definite given in their favour and would be quite supportive of their Kiddy’s Korner ideology as they were so often assured by those Old and Elderly members of the EU Commission’s elite.

And when that democratically carried out vote went against them to their utter shock and horror despite the immense political, financial and funded support plus the disgraceful “Fear and Fright” campaign by the EU supporters, they are now throwing a classic Kiddy’s Korner full scale Tantrum and demanding that a national and fully democratic vote which every registered voter could have participated in if they were so inclined and committed, be overturned because they didn’t take the oppurtunity to vote or just couldn’t be bothered voting and it didn’t turn out at all as supportive of their version of their self promoting and ideological troughing.

So those British oldsters and elderly buggered up the vote for those young Britishers who couldn’t be bothered voting and now they are demanding that they stay with the same old, same old EU Commission still running the whole EU show with a snowballs chance in hell of ever getting any changes of any substance in the way the EU is run and operates today.

So I gather that somebody like Climateskeptic as well asย  many of a his compatriots with a similar tantrum throwing psychology when they don’t immediately get their own way, are quite happy to live under the authoritarian rule of the elitist Old men and women of the EU Commission without ever getting any EU voting rights or say or having any input into that Old Men and Old Women dominated EU Commission who run and intend toย keep running the EU Commission for many years yet unless they are literally forced to change by political and national events and persons outside of their direct and dictatorial control.

Average of the 24 ages provided above of the 28 EU Commissioners = 53.5 years

So if those figures provided by Ross @ #1.2.1.1.5 are near correct, only a little over a third of the 18-24 year olds that were eligible to vote, even bothered to vote.

Of the 25-34 year olds only a bit over half at 58% who were eligible to vote, bothered to vote.

However it now appears that although the Oldsters in the UK are a despicable mob, according to those vote ducking under 34 year olds, who don’t want to get with the trend towards globalisation but who even at an advanced age took the time to cast their vote and give voice to their British citizen’s opinions and their increasing lack of trust in the EU.
Those same eligible to vote under 34 year olds who couldn’t be bothered voting are now apparently quite prepared toย live under a dictatorial system run by the Old Men and Women of the EU commission who are not British nor have any loyalty to either the British nation or to the British peoples.

A very strange attitude indeed on part of the British Kiddy’s Korner Tantrum Throwers in that they don’t apparently trust their own citizens and their own people even after they themselves had the right to vote and just couldn’t be bothered going by the figures given above.

Instead they appear to be prepared to place their entire trust in another known to be domineering group of Old Men and Old Women who will never give them as Eu citizens, any rights to challenge them in any way and who have no loyalty at all to the British people and to the British nation.

Foolish, hubrisitic and down to plain even stupid.

Be very careful what you wish for.

You might just get your wish.

Lets look at the figures again. Using the Ugov figures you posted at 1.2.1.1.7 we see 75% of the 18-24 age group who voted, voted remain.
So since only 36% percent of the eligible voters of that age group actually voted that means only 27% of the eligible voters in that age wanted to remain.
Similarly with the 25-49 group 56 % who voted said remain. 65% of the age group voted ( I’ve averaged the 58 & 72 in the two closed group from the Sky figures). This means 36.4% of the eligible voters in the group actually voted remain.

                Aren’t stats wonderful !

I’d suspect a large percentage of these remain voters, in those age groups, are Green supporters –they love subsidies and hand outs. I acknowledge that your fellow Greens are very good at rallying the troops.

              Ross,

If I can recall it correctly, on the radio early this morning some polling agency said similar figures for the 18-24 years band but that was only registered voters. Apparently their polling survey showed ‘up to’ 25% of this group failed to register and made themselves ineligible to vote.

Oh well I thought they might be bright enough to learn a lesson here, however I know that they will just whinge and whine about it, then mope about saying ‘it’s all so unfair!’.

Pro Brexit … are all over 50 has-beens still fighting WWII and railing against Che Guevara.

You are just one very confused bunny.

            1. WWII started in 1939 and ended in 1945. To have even fought in the last year of that war, a person must now be between 89 and 95 years old. How big do you think that demographic actually is? Sure, 83% of that small demographic probably turned out to vote. But you are talking about 83% of a small number.

            2. When you look at the geographical distribution of votes, by age group, the vast majority of those who voted leave, were in the areas with the highest levels of unemployment, and were under 44 years old.

            3. And finally when you look at the proportion of people who bothered to vote, which is what the Sky numbers represent, only a third of those under 25 could be bothered to get off their chuffs to vote at all.

Now you are whinging because the bankers and the bureaucrats might have to step up to getting a real job that is actually productive, in the sense of doing something useful.

                You are delusional …

So now climateskeptic has to resort to ad hominem – how sad.

I am looking at the breakdowns of votes, by voting place, and then comparing the patterns to the geographic demography.

The thing that has surprised most analysts (including me), was the fact that the north of England – Yorkshire, Lancashire, etc, overwhelmingly voted to leave.

But when I look at the demographics, and economics of those constituencies, the reason becomes clear – unemployment, and lack of prospects for employment in the North of England.

Jobs have moved to other parts of the EU, where the wage rates are lower. Simple economics. The fact that the younger voters were to apathetic to vote, is their problem, and nobody else’s.

Complain all you like, but it comes down to one-person, one-vote, where not voting is taken to mean an abstention.

The age of the voter is immaterial. The maturity of the voter is highly material.

Especially when individual nations recently liberated from the collective EU debt demographic can start orchestrating their own debt restructuring arrangements to appease creditors.

With Greece as an example, the following example of popular wisdom with respect to Britain is pithy.

What is an anti-environmentalist? Is it:

        A) someone who wishes to break the laws of physics and not be surrounded by any environment whatsoever?
        B) Someone who dislikes those who call themselves ‘environmentalists’ in order to disguise political ambition, viewpoint and goals behind a more socially acceptable cause?
        C) Your semi-literate attempt at an insult?
        D) Someone who turns a blind eye to heavy metal/organic compound contamination in air/soil, and water, bad air quality, shockingly unsafe working conditions, deforestation, overfishing, soil erosion, bird kills by wind turbines, and archaic and excessively destructive/inefficient mining practices, all because they see Carbon Dioxide as the most evil thing ever released into the air by humans. (but only those humans who come from developed countries, it would be ‘racist’ to complain about any other countries).

I’m not sure that accountable government really counts as a purely ideological political experiment anymore.

Perhaps two hundred years ago. By now though, most of us consider it well tried and desirable. Post-democratic politics may well be the way of the future but as yet, there are still enough of us who think democracy should be defended.

On Brown Coal. Even the Victorian government is dead against evil brown coal. This is our taxes at work. Like many other government authorities they spread the idea..

“It creates more pollution than other fuels such as black coal, natural gas and much more than clean renewable energy, making Victorians among the most greenhouse polluting people per capita on the planet.”

and “This high moisture content makes long distance transportation uneconomic and so brown coal is not currently used for export markets. But that doesnโ€™t mean big polluting companies donโ€™t want to try. Check out the story behind our campaign against exporting brown coal”

This is our government, using our taxes to campaign against the export of our coal. Thanks. They even stopped the sale of $400million of brown coal to India. As The Age said, they were going to make the coal ‘blacker’ by removing the water. A crime against humanity seemingly, but who in their right mind would ship a product which was 2/3 water?

Whether you accept that CO2 is evil and is causing the warming which is not happening and the Climate Change which is not happening, the fundamental facts are wrong with this commonly accepted statement.

In fact black coal produces more CO2 per unit of energy at combustion, because there are fewer hydrogens.

The common argument is that while Victorian Brown Coal is 66% water, it takes three times as much coal to produce the same amount of power and more to evaporate the water. However three times the tons does not mean three times the CO2 as the coal is 2/3 water. To be fair, I had accepted this argument too, without checking.

However the CO2 from various fuels in power stations is actually (tons of CO2/Terajoule)

    Hard coal 94.6
    Lignite 101.2
    Natural gas 56.1

and our precious Bass Strait Natural gas is running out quickly.

So the super evil brown coal is only 7% more CO2 than black coal? Now that’s hardly worth closing our major power generating station but that is the plan of the Victorian government in their campaign against our quality of life. It is now also the view of the new French owners. Then what are the poor people of Tasmania and South Australia going to do when the wind stops and the water runs out? Are we going to buy power from them?

Is the government of Victoria quite mad?

    190

    • #
      Robert

Yes, the Victorian government is probably mad, or so indoctrinated by the AGW hypothesis as to make totally irrational decisions.

For most of last week the SE Aust. wind turbines were producing at between 30 and 70% capacity, but midnight on Friday production slowed and by 9.am Saturday it was only 10%, or around 400 MW where it stayed all day. But for both the S. Aust. and Victoria turbines production was only 6-7% and it was a little windier in NSW.

At 6 pm yesterday Eastern Aust. was consuming 28,000 MW of electricity made up of 24,000 MW of fossil fuel generation (mainly coal), 3,750 MW of Hydro and about 250 MW of wind energy and no solar input.

If the renewable energy industry is going to replace this consumption most of the countryside would have to be covered with wind turbines and solar panels. A rough calculation for Saturday at 6 pm would be 28,000 x 3669/250 = 411,000 MW of nameplate capacity of Wind turbines occupying a minimum of 205,000 sq. km. of coastal sites. Metro Melbourne plus Sydney is 20,000 sq. km., so ten times this area.

Yes governments seem to believe in the global warming hypothesis, but clearly renewable energy is not a rational response as it just will not work.

      191

      • #
        Robert

At 2 pm the NSW wind turbines of 651 MW capacity are totally idle and the S. Aust. and Victorian turbines are now producing 1300 MW or at 44% capacity.

Production is all over the shop, but how does one convince the politicians that renewable energy is not a commercial proposition before their blackouts come?

I remember 1989 when the Iron Curtain cracked and the Wall tumbled down and all the fixed certainties of the Cold War became irrelevant. Is this a similar moment? A rejection of big government, of technocrats telling us how to live our lives, an uprising against the constraints of received wisdom and the censorship of questioning authority through political correctness? I hope so. 1989 brought great gains but then peoplebecame complacent in the ensuing prosperity, then yielded their freedoms for security under the real threat of Islamofascism and the false threat of CAGW. 2.5 million already? Show us the data!

However, 52% have asserted their authority over the 48%. What next?

How many % of the Remain vote were undecided or voted Remain because they expected it to win? a%. Probably a considerable % number. These people will support the new order, increasing the 52%.

How many people supporting Remain benefited directly from the status quo? b%. Bearing in the long run much more weight per %, because 1. They had the power and want to retain it, and 2. They believe their personal well being depends on Remain.

So, no matter that 2.5 million may’ve already declared their intention to Remain,if the referendum was run again tomorrow, what would the percentages be? My logic says maybe 60/40 to leave. The barrier has been broken. In the long run, as usual the losers will use every dirty trick in their repertory.

    How toVote

The momentous events of the last few days are not even over but we have to turn our minds to our our election which is less than one week away now. I am looking for more representatives of minor parties to take their place in the senate. Perhaps we can discuss which ones.

Viv Forbes gives advice on how to vote here.

      ~ ~ ~
May 25, 2016, The World Bank: Continuing Momentum for Putting a Price on Carbon Pollution

“The 2015 year highlighted the growing momentum for countries to voluntarily embrace putting a price on carbon pollution, as a means of cutting emissions.

The report, Carbon Pricing Watch 2016, shows four new carbon pricing initiatives – in the Republic of Korea, Portugal, Canadaโ€™s British Columbia province, and Australiawere launched, or have been in the works, since 2015.”
      . . .
Thanks Mal. Didn’t vote for that.
Not that I have any confidence Tony Abbott would have behaved any differently.
Abbott “got rid of the carbon (sic) tax”, but left all the bureaucracy and frameworks in place for it’s return.

Viv Forbes’ advice says to reward the cinos who voted for Abbott over Turnbull in the HoR.

But, I don’t want my vote to go to Turnbull, even if he is surrounded by ministers who didn’t vote for him.

I am wavering to this line of thinking:

. “The ALP stinks to high hell, but an ALP government with a conservative opposition is far less dangerous than a Malcolm Turnbull led government with
      a compliant left wing opposition.
(Also, an unworkable senate of minor parties will thwart any passing of bills by the difficult nature of it.)

. An ALP government will be easily removed after 3 years, a Malcolm Turnbull led government will not.

. A Turnbull led government will implement a string of detrimental changes to our political system and way of life that can never be undone.

The LNP member for my seat of McPherson on the GC, Karen Andrews, who voted for Tony Abbott.

I hate Turnbull, and have said a party he leads will never get my vote.

I urge all the Qld readers to vote for One Nation in the Senate. It needs 15% to ensure Malcolm Roberts gets a seat. I’ve known Malcolm for seven years now. He was the leader of our group that war gamed six months before Gillard announced she was going to introduce a tax on CO2.

Malcolm, like others, put his life on hold to fight this madness and in my opinion, is an unsung hero in this fight. He is working towards the end game. A Parliamentary inquiry into this so called “Climate Change”. After such…the final phase. I’ve spoken here before of it. The courts!

If Malcolm fails to get a seat and Pauline does, he will have to speak through her. I believe to ensure the best outcome, Malcolm needs to be in the Senate.

On another note…my second bloc of votes under the line will be going to ALA. The reason why ALA can’t get their advertising accepted by The Australian and other papers should be let known. Andrew Bolt is too scared to reveal it. Malcolm Turnbull has been standing over the papers to prevent the Party from getting exposure.

For this reason alone, I will be putting the LNP last in the Lower House.

โ€œThere are entire continents, sub-Saharan Africa or the Indian sub-continent where people are developing rapidly, theyโ€™re getting connected,โ€ he said. โ€œTheyโ€™re going to need electricity, theyโ€™re going to need energy, but if they duplicate the ways that we produce energy here, or have in the past, then the entire planet is under water.โ€

The young are naturally upset, a lot of them didn’t bother to vote because they thought it was in the bag. They think the baby boomers are an ignorant greedy lot who need to be put down, whereas the older voters reckon the youngsters have been brainwashed into thinking CO2 causes global warming and borders should be opened up to more immigrants from the Eastern Bloc.

โ€œWhile not all Euroskeptics are climate skeptics, few climate skeptics are not also Euroskeptics,โ€ the environmental analysis group E3G said in a private briefing note on the possible effects of the referendum. This means any new government could, for instance, scrap the countryโ€™s renewable energy targets and tax on high-polluting power plants.

‘A post-Cameron leadership could also change the countryโ€™s approach to the Paris climate agreement. โ€œIt could potentially submit a highly ambitious [nationally determined contribution] to the U.N., it could ramp down its ambition, or it could ignore it, which would be a blow to the whole process,โ€ said Will Nichols, a senior environment and climate change analyst at the risk advisory firm Verisk Maplecroft.’

I think many of the young moaning about this result are Greenies and they are being fed all the BS to spread around the internet. You have to credit the Green elite –they can see the significance of this result and it doesn’t look good for their religion.

Boris Johnson maybe chosen bu the Party to replace Cameron.

The great helmsman is in favor of fracking and also believes we are heading towards a mini ice age, the latter is uncertain but its fair to say the UK is not ready for a Gleissberg.

Do we have here politically correct “science” designed to produce the desired result? These researchers claim the 2001 analysis of Mungo Man remains was incorrect in its conclusion that Mungo Man was a different group than modern Aborigines. Aborigines were always against the idea that anyone but they were the first migrants to Australia. So this new research group analyses other Mungo remains probably no older than one or two thousand years in comparison to the original 2001 analysis on a 42,000 old specimen and conclude that the modern sample is the same as modern Aboriginals thus invalidating the claim based on the 42,000 year old specimen that it was not related to modern Aborigines.

    Graeme No.3

I have just been re-reading When Money Dies by Adam Fergusson about the hyperinflation in Germany (and Austria and Hungary) in the early 1920โ€™s and see parallels look ominous. All 3 countries were overloaded with debt to a level they couldnโ€™t repay.
The case wasnโ€™t helped by the inability of the German government to take decisive action, nor apparently to even foresee the end that British diplomats could see well in advance. Instead it tried to โ€œmuddle throughโ€ with a series of higher taxes, efforts to deflect public criticism with pay increases which increased the cost of living, paying subsidies to favoured industries and ignoring the advice that contradicted what they wanted to believe. The major parties all doing the same thing.

The Left stirred up much unrest, apparently ignorant of the causes while putting the blame on those apparently better off when, in many cases, they were suffering the most, and calling for futile actions. The violence they used increased public support for the far Right. The whole mess spiralled into hyperinflation and eventually into dictatorship (rule by decree before Hitler).

So in the Western democracies we have huge debts, which it is doubtful in the case of many countries that they can ever pay. We have a rigid bureaucracy in charge, especially in the EU, governments raising taxes and the cost of living by subsidies to certain industries (e.g. renewable energy) and deaf to advice that contradicts their beliefs. And pumping vast amounts of money (quantitative easing) into a suffering economy. The Left still blames everyone except themselves and still advocates whatever sounds good in their ears but would make things worse.

And we get to vote for Tweedledee or Tweedledum next Saturday. Have a good day!

      Graeme,

I feel very informal about the lower house vote next week.

I don’t want any of the contestants to get a subsidy and my vote would do nothing anyhow.

Looking forward to making up for that in the upper house.

Graeme, it’s simpler than that. They are working by the textbooks. And most of them have not the intelligence to understand what they read, to see behind the page.

      Whose textbooks, you ask?

There is no Australian Labor Party. It breathed its last as they knifed Bill Hayden. The modern ALP is a Marxist party in the Fabian mould. Led by an Oxford education.

Hawke, Fraser, Turnbull, Abbott all read the Oxford texts. So too John Stone, who did have the intelligence to see through it. Turnbull and Abbott are about to be found out. I am still hoping that the finding will be positive.

Ian McLachlan, who I saw as a key player, got it at Cambridge. I never doubted McLachlan’s good intentions, but the policies that he and Andrew Robb initiated at the National Farmers’ Federation have halved the number of small business capitalists engaged in farming in Australia. Half way home for the Marxists and gathering pace. Those policies were founded in what they call Free Market Theory.

FMT fails at its foundation, in its very name, because it fails to recognise that The Market is not free if it is not free for all. Far from freeing “The Market”, FMT has relentlessly developed the program of the “Socialists”, the Marxists.

So the modern ALP’s primary objective is to destroy the capitalist system so that they can install a Marxist system, no matter what the cost. Scorched Earth is their policy. It’s OK by them for people to die of cold because they feared the cost of warmth. And it goes all the way to letting people die of starvation or genocide driven by food shortages, which to date has only been happening out of sight. But if they are allowed to govern, anarchy will come much closer to home.

We are indeed heading toward a period of global cooling according to the regular natural cycles of the climate. And unlike harmless warming, cooling will have serious effects such as reduced agricultural outputs. And by the time it happens the world will be overly reliant on “renewable” energy which won’t be able to supply enough energy for everyone to keep warm.

I understood that the environmental paradigm is think globally, act locally.
People breathe in air that has 400ppm million of CO2.
Exhaled breathe has 4000ppm of CO2.

The Brexit result spells the beginning of the end to ‘Ze New World Disorder’,the EU being the ‘mini-me’ version.

The UN (Un-elected Nutters) are next along with their religion of CAGW/CACC.

In fact, a good general rule to follow is be against anything that the ‘Liar in Chief’,El Presidente Obummer stands for!

Also beware of any politicians that advocated for the UK to remain.

Because those that did/do are not for democracy, the people, but are for themselves at the expense of the people ….. tyrants in waiting or tyrants in realtime.

Cameron was obviously a sellout, but did do what he should have: Resign…and many more should follow his lead, both there, and in many other countries.

The first duty of any government is to protect their nation against any and all foreign aggression. Not sell out for financial gain and/or a cozy EU or UN do nothing job!

These are the acts of treasonous criminals, mostly way beyond the scope of the petty that populate the prisons.

So the Brits or some big percentage of them want to hold the election over again. I always thought an election was the final voice of the people. And it should be. Surely we have not sunk so low in our operation of the wheels and levers of the people’s government that we think things can be done over as many times as it takes to get the outcome the complainers want. What BS is this?

If they can do that, why bother with an election at all? Or did they really want the opinion of the people? If so then the election result decides the issue. And the people have now spoken. No redoing it.

    Damned postmodern thinking! ๐Ÿ™

BBC is continuing to try to undermine BREXIT at every turn.
last nite, on World Service World Have Your Say, a pro-BREXIT caller complained about EU making laws from Britain, mentioning a figure of 60 or 70 percent.

BBC presenter shouted the called down, saying it had been reality-checked and the real figure was only 13 PERCENT!

8 Jun: BBC: The EU referendum Reality Check: How much UK law comes from the EU?
    By Clive Coleman, Legal correspondent
Business for Britain, which wants the UK to leave the EU, says more than 60% of UK law is influenced by EU law…
But some put the figure far lower, at around 13%. So who is right?
    In a nutshell it’s somewhere in-between the two – let’s look at why…
If you count all EU regulations, EU-related Acts of Parliament, and EU-related Statutory Instruments, about 62% of laws introduced between 1993 and 2014 that apply in the UK implemented EU obligations.
So, does that mean that the Brexiteers are right?
Not according to many expert lawyers and academics…
So what is the true figure? More than 13% but less than 62% – it depends what you count in and what you leave out. It is safe to say that EU law does have a very significant presence and effect in UK law…
    http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-eu-referendum-36473105

BBC Reality Check: EU Referendum: 13% of our laws from Europe?
Scottish Conservative leader Ruth Davidson got in an argument with Andrea Leadsom about how many of our rules come from Europe.
“[She] said 60% of our laws are made in Europe, and it’s simply not true – 13% of our laws, according to the independent House of Commons Library, that number is 13%.”
The 13% figure refers to laws, rather than rules and regulations, which was what Andrea Leadsom referred to.
But you could make a decent argument for any figure between about 13% and 60%

I tried to respond there with this:

“If paid for by the public, each and every attempted measurement of anything, need be retained, as the very, very best-us measurement of whatever we were trying to measure, then and there! In all of science there can never be any justification for replacement/adjustment for those measured numbers. This does not care of what measurement was attempted. In my experience, it was more than four years before anyone (including me) had a clue of what may have been measured! Some want political BS, others only want the original numbers, plus the best history on what measurement was attempted (when/where)!
      All the best! -will-”

A doubt that any shall ever appear, at that site! ๐Ÿ™‚

It’s really unlikely that the UK will leave the EU, even with the LEAVE side winning the recent referendum. There will be some serious changes ahead for the UK but leaving the EU isn’t one of them.

First it’s likely that Scotland will hold another referendum on whether or not to stay in the UK, however, that was likely even if the REMAIN side won. However, this time around the vote to leave the UK is likely to pass.

Northern Ireland may vote on joining Ireland. Whether or not it will pass is anyone’s guess.

Leaving the EU is a different matter. Already we’re seeing many people who voted to LEAVE are regretting their decision and now asking for another referendum. I doubt there’ll be another vote soon but another vote is likely in 3 or 4 years time maybe sooner.

Let me explain. To leave the EU there’s lots of work to do and the UK parliament has to do work and vote on leaving. The UK bureaucracy also has lots of work to do.

Problem is most of the politicians voted to REMAIN. About 60% of the Conservatives and well over 90% of Labour are REMAIN supporters. Also according to what I’ve read the overwhelming majority of the permanent civil service in the UK are REMAIN supporters. That’s not really a surprise. Bigger country and economy equals more pay and prestige for the civil service.

There’s a two year time period to wrap things up to leave the EU, with time extensions possible. With the vast majority of UK politicians and civil service being REMAIN supporters it’s likely they will take their time to do the work to leave the EU. An extension of the time period to wrap up things is likely.

During this time period look for all the negative impacts of leaving the EU to be front and centre in the news. Also if Scotland and Northern Ireland do vote to leave the UK, the UK will have less to offer the EU when negotiating trade deals post exit.

While all the negotiating is going on and 3 or 4 years have passed the UK government, which will probably be even stronger REMAIN supporters is likely to say let’s do another referendum to make sure LEAVE is still the preferred option.

At the time if the UK economy hasn’t improved and with all the negative news about leaving the EU (think far worse than what’s been said recently) it’s entirely possible the REMAIN side could easily win a second referendum. If this happens a third referendum is unlikely.
