    Christmas Time.

A time of Peaceful Contemplation on the good things in the world and that we can always have hope for and

    work towards a better future.

It reminds us that there is a way to live that has been tested and shown to work over a few thousand years

and that there are some basic ideas that can be used.

The ten commandments and the parables were the original formula for SUSTAINABILITY in our COMMUNITIES and

form the basic guide for living together in peace.

The rules work and we should work towards bringing those back to the centre of Politics in all nations.

Peace – Happiness – Chill out for a while.

    Hint for today.

Be where you can see the faces of your children, or your grand children. The happiness they show is what makes us happy.

A happy, and a peaceful Christmas to you Joanne, David, and family, and to all who run this site.

Today is a day for families, and, after all, Christmas did start with a family.

    Say,

this isn’t a Christmas carol per se, even though it does have a carol as backing music. So many singers and bands have done Christmas songs and albums, but this is one many of you may not have heard before.

I first heard it in 1969, when I was getting into Simon and Garfunkel. Originally released in October 1966, it was not aimed at a Christmas market at all, but as a comment on events at that time in 1966.

    It’s somewhat chilling really.

      Tony,

Like holding a mirror up to our present state of affairs is the way I would put it. Only the details are any different.

Sung in a minor key does indeed make it sound chilling — and sobering.

Without the contributions of those named, we would not have come to understand what has caused the AGW idea

to maintain it’s place in modern folklore the way it has.

To all mainstream scientists it is somewhat of a mystery as to how anyone could distort science so badly that

they would presume to demand obedience to the CO2 Gods when they do not understand the science themselves.

Having these “guinea pigs” to use experimentally on the blog has been very useful.

Many of us have been aided in developing the communication skills that will ultimately get the message

across to the general public, politicians and media operatives.

In a way, those mentioned, have led us to a point where we are much more able to assist in bringing about the

        collapse of the AGW Shibboleth.

Thank you one and all for your help.

        Much appreciated.

Well, they haven’t responded (yet) so my hypothesis that warmistas can’t stand pictures of snow and ice that isn’t melting, even without happy faces, is as valid as any that the IPCC has endorsed.

Carbon dioxide. Is there nothing it can’t do?

Apparently it can’t provide food for the hungry or shelter for the homeless. Apparently it can’t cure the many diseases that afflict us. Apparently it can’t cause anything remotely like peace among nations or even within many nations.

I keep wondering what all that research money it sucks up could do if spent more wisely. Don’t you?

AP’s shameless Christmas Eve article – more proof the MSM is complicit in the CAGW scam:

24 Dec: KVOA Tucson: AP: Group to hand out free endangered species condoms
The Tucson-based Center for Biological Diversity says that since its population awareness campaign began in 2009, the group has given out 450,000 free endangered species condoms, featuring pictures of polar bears, panthers and other threatened species…
Jerry Karnas, the group’s population campaign director, says the condoms help attract attention to the problem of how increasing human population is affecting wildlife, some already on the brink of extinction.
    http://www.kvoa.com/news/group-to-hand-out-free-endangered-species-condoms/

Center for Biological Diversity – Meet the Staff
Jerry Karnas, Population Campaign Director, graduated from Swarthmore College with majors in political science and environmental studies. Before joining the Center he led campaigns on climate change, clean energy, manatees, Everglades restoration and oil drilling; he also advised clean-energy companies and political candidates. He was a climate advisor to Florida Gov. Charlie Crist and in 2008 won an Emmy Award for best public service announcement for the “Faces of Climate Change” campaign.

The Center for Biological Diversity marked this year’s Earth Day by distributing 100,000 free Endangered Species Condoms around the country
    POLAR BEAR
An international icon of global warming, the polar bear is going extinct as the Arctic sea ice melts beneath its feet because of the greenhouse gas emissions of 7 billion people — especially those in high-consumption nations like the United States.

not Exxon, surely? not Goldman Sachs et al & the taxpayers, surely?

workingforgreen.org: Biodiversity in the Age of Big Money Environmentalism
Counterpunch Weekend Edition January 15-17, 2010 by MICHAEL DONNELLY
As a grassroots activist involved in the environmental campaigns of the last four decades, of course I’m going to be interested in histories written about them…
One of the primary groups examined in Bevington’s study was the Center for Biological Diversity (formed in 1989), [22] and which in 2008 received support from elite philanthropic bodies that included the Foundation for Deep Ecology, the Environment Now Foundation, Tides Foundation, ExxonMobil Foundation, The New York Times Company Foundation, and even the “big green” environmental outfit, The Wilderness Society. Corporate funders of the “grassroots” Center for Biological Diversity included the likes of Goldman Sachs, the Bank of America, and Microsoft. [23] The fact that Bevington describes a group funded by the world’s leading capitalist elites as grassroots demonstrates how desperately well-meaning environmentalists cling to the illusion that by working with capitalists (not the grassroots) they will be able to counter the destruction wrought on the planet by capitalists (evidently for the benefit of the grassroots). [24] Needless to say it is hardly surprising that the Center for Biological Diversity was pleased by the fact that Edward Humes’ “devot[ed] a fourth of his book” Eco Barons to their history and achievements. [25]…
    http://wrongkindofgreen.org/category/non-profit-industrial-complex-organizations/organizations/center-for-biological-diversity/

Doc Hastings, Chairman, Natural Resources :
Press Release: DOJ Documents Confirm Center for Biological Diversity Received Millions in Taxpayer Funds from ESA-Related Lawsuits
WASHINGTON, D.C., June 27, 2012 – The Center for Biological Diversity today sent a letter to House Natural Resources Committee Chairman Doc Hastings claiming their organization had only received $553,000 in taxpayer funds resulting from Endangered Species Act (ESA) related attorney fees and court cases. This claim conflicts with data obtained from the Department of Justice (DOJ), which shows over $2 million in taxpayer dollars have been paid out to the Center for Biological Diversity and their attorneys for cases open between 2009-2012.
The Center for Biological Diversity appears to have derived their erroneous number by including only checks made out directly to the Center for Biological Diversity over a select period of years. Attorney fees are typically paid out to the attorney of record. The Center for Biological Diversity is conveniently failing to include the majority of funds that were paid directly to their hired lawyers. Nine of the lawyers who have received payouts are currently employed by the Center for Biological Diversity.

Merry Christmas All and spare a thought for the people of Russia who are dealing with one of Their most brutal winters in a long time , -60 in Siberia , -30 in Moscow . and 123 dead from frostbite and exposure in 10 days , The Australian MSM stays on message regardless and focuses the horrors of warming to come :

“Russia’s weather service is predicting a drastic temperature hike in the European parts of Russia later this week, with 0 degrees Celsius expected in Moscow.”

“that the warming will be accompanied by strong winds and freezing rain that will likely damage communications and slow down traffic.”

no wonder the MSM believe they are more powerful than the pollies, especially as they are often employed through several administrations. would be interesting to see ABC comparative figures:

26 Dec: UK Independent: John Fahey: BBC faces investigation after giving 200 senior managers ‘excessively generous’ £100,000 pay-offs
The probe was sparked after George Entwistle, the former director general, stood down over the Jimmy Savile scandal with a £450,000 pay-off
The largest was the former deputy director general Mark Byford, who was given £949,000…
A total of 14 executives received pay-offs of more than £300,000 each, worth a total of £6m, while 194 executives got £100,000 each.
Caroline Thomson, the former chief operating officer at the BBC, was given £670,000 when she left the corporation earlier this year.
The Telegraph also reported that an unnamed finance officer was given a £420,000 payoff, while Sharon Baylay, the director of marketing, was given a £392,000 payoff.
In 2010, £27m was spent on redundancy payments for 481 staff and £58m in 2011 on 1,281 redundancy payments, the newspaper reported…

    give us your money:

21 Dec: UK Independent: Assaad W. Razzouk: Doha was all hot air. It’s high time for a new central body to take action on climate change
We need a rival to the World Bank to address rising temperatures
Assaad W. Razzouk is the CEO of Sindicatum Sustainable Resources.
Let’s face it. The 18th annual climate change talks in Doha achieved nothing…
Meanwhile, the world continues to warm and the weather grows increasingly extreme…
In the same way that the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund were established at Bretton Woods in 1944 after World War II – giving rise to a new rules-based system of international finance, restoring confidence and leading to an extraordinary post-war economic boom – the time has come for the establishment of a new multilateral institution: the Climate Change Action Bank (CCAB).
If given the necessary tools, expertise and standing, the CCAB could take charge and ensure that valuable international resources are channelled towards low carbon solutions across the globe. As we have seen with both the World Bank and the IMF, the CCAB could have potentially far greater and more consequential success than the endless rounds of negotiations that we are witnessing today. There would be someone clearly in charge acting as a central channel to mobilize finance and expertise, tirelessly pushing the climate agenda in every member state, and acting rather than talking…
If this urgent global challenge is to be decisively addressed, the CCAB should be based in Washington, D.C. (just like the World Bank and the IMF) with a private sector subsidiary (just like the International Finance Corporation, a World Bank unit) based in Beijing. It would be essential that a strong leader be appointed as Chair of the new bank — a global political figure with the influence and gravitas to push through changes that are urgently needed to secure the future of the low carbon economy, someone with a track record of solving problems on a global scale…

uhoh…reuters point carbon have picked up the Independent’s Climate Change Action Bank madness. something else we’ll need to forestall in the New Year?

LONDON, Dec 24 (Reuters Point Carbon) – The United Nations should ditch “fruitless” annual climate talks and establish an international bank to help combat climate change more effectively, the CEO of Sindicatum Sustainable Resources wrote in UK newspaper The Independent on Friday…

And a Happy New Year Dah Dah !!

Great site great work keep it up

Hot news in uk it’s been raining a lot in December how weird 🙂
I wonder if the flooding is due to the reduction in engineering staff and investment at the Environment agency and increase in number of staff promoting global warming and wind farms?

      KinkyKeith

      Hi Stacey

That’s exactly the cause of the big recent Queensland flood that was supposed never to happen again.

WE also have out of control bush fires adjacent to large communities; there have been a lot of Deaths in the

last decade here. Same thing; Green fantasizing overrules common sense and past accumulated knowledge.

When I was kid in the sixties there were regular controlled burns that limited the danger and kept the bush

      useable for recreation.

Now “back burning” is totally banned because it “destroys nature” and the final effect is that it Destroys

Nature in an uncontrolled way and kills people and animals.

The Aboriginals knew and practiced fire control on a gigantic scale (Bill Gamadges book “The biggest

Estate”)and now we have Computer Model Greenies dismissing 10,000 years of land management experience with

dire consequences. Farmers cant farm the bush is overgrown with undergrowth and is impenetrable and so on.

The Green menace needs to be exposed.

      KK 🙂
